I hope everyone is doing okay. It has been a pretty nice day. Maybe a bit cool, but sunny at last.

I think everyone is watching television or something. BBL. Maybe Crunch is on the phone to Martinsburg.

End of a long day here. i actually worked 8 hours. I am totally out of the habit for such things LOL. Anyway hope everyone is doing well and your Sat has been good. All eyes on Norfolk over the next couple of days. A little fuzzy will hopefully be appearing real soon. :-)

hedgie said...

Thanks for the callover, Shirley.
Hey, Crunch Bob. How are ya'? Give Doris my best.
Glo, did you actually work a shift, or were you out eagling for a full day?

paula eagleholic said...

Ah Saturday Night Party Thread!

glo said...

I actually worked a shift. Sadly our eagle season has dwindled down to an occasional sighting here and there. Our gorgeous birds have headed back to their nesting areas. I miss them. I always do. The trees aren't near as pretty without those gorgeous white heads. They are bare now and wait for their leaves.

stronghunter said...

Where did you work, Glo?

glo said...

Stronghunter I retired from a local womens shelter back in July but stll volunteer to do the stats and fill in an occasional shift when needed. I have worked with women and children for over 20 years. The Boss says I am on an extended sabatical :-). Anyway its always good to go there. I bring Dex with me. There are 9 children in shelter currently. Its not the same now that Dex is blind but his attitude with people is as kind and gentle and happy as ever. He loves a child's voice and they all love him. I twas a good day and went by quickly. I am tired tonight.

stronghunter said...

I am sure it is a good kind of tired, Glo, and you will sleep well tonight.

glo said...

Yes indeed on both accounts :-)

hedgie said...

Glo, glad you got to spend another day with your passion! I know they really aprreciate you...and Dex, too!

Judie said...

Good evening, everyone.

Hope all had a great day.

Am turning my light off but will leave the night light on for others.

Ragdoll said...

Hello Eagle Friends..Glo I am a newbie here. Was just reading the blog and noticed you worked in a womens shelter. It's tiring work, but rewarding. I worked in a shelter for several years. I worked every aspect of the job. I facilitate all the support groups and did research on PFA's and how they worked or didn't work.

Ragdoll said...

Hello Stronghunter, Crunch, Hedgie, Paula Eagleholic, Judie, and anyone else I haven't seen her yet.

I have my computer back.. Yeah!!!!!

NatureNut said...

Evening Everyone! Hi Crunch!
Glo, hope you're still here~~~you left a note by some of my pictures about cameras. Well, I recently did get a new one. After spending big bucks & even getting Xtra zoom lens, it (SLR) won't shoot any further than my orig. camera. So, it's going back & my fingers have been walking thru search & think I've found exactly what I want~~24x optical zoom!!!!
I have been online so much, I've barely gotten on blog or seen too many cams. What is perfect was a review on cam (I'll probably get in AM) from a lady who used it to get Eagle pics in Alaska!!!!Getting eagles was my goal```sure is expensive-less than 1/2 the SLR cost. But you only live once~~enjoy the $$!

glo said...

Thats great Ragdoll. Then we have some interests and experience in common for sure. Everyday is different for sure. Around the corner awaits the next surprise. You just never know what to expect in many ways. Our shelter deals with many issues concerning homelessness and women and children. Some of which are DV, prison/jail release, chemical addictions, some MH issues, but with our kids we do limit the severity of the MH issues we will keep in shelter. Time for me to stretch out and call it a day.

Ragdoll said...

Is something wrong with the Blackwater site? I see a little chick out from under Mom. It never changes after 30 seconds.

NatureNut said...

Hi Everyone else & missed while vwriting a tome. And good night to those leaving us.
If eagles are moving around, would there still be some at Conowingo?

Ragdoll said...

Your shelter deals with alot more issues then ours. Nice to meet you.

Ragdoll said...

NatureNut...Where is the Conowingo site. I have never been there.

NatureNut said...

Hi Ragdoll, Checked BW & the cam went off at 10PM & isn't refreshing anymore. But isn't that cute~~that little puffball was stretched out away from Mom.

Ragdoll said...

Hi NatureNut...Glad to meet you. I think it's adorable. I was worried about the chick. Being in the cold for so long. LOL

NatureNut said...

RD, that is a dam (no cam) North of Baltimore where many of the Momsters went. (I was at work)There were lots of eagles there on the river. Since Glo mentioned them moving to nests, I wondered if any would still be there.
If you get on Eaglet Momsters page, click on pictures & I think there are some albums. I believe Paula & Margy have some on their blogs.

Ragdoll said...

Thank You NatureNut. Will check it our.

There is a nest right on top of the dam, I think on the far side. I'm sure there are more nests in the area also, I know of several upstream from it.

Hi all!
Want to say first and most importantly
Happy Birthday, Sharon! Hope you have had a fantastic day!

We had a great day...going to Denton. Joseph's team lost, but hey, second place in the league is nothing to be ashamed of! They lost 25 to 23, Joseph scored the last 4 points (two baskets) in the last minutes of the game. This grandam was very proud. Joseph cried. I think that was a sign of maturity and really wanting to succeed. then we went to his soccer game and they lost 2 to 1. Poor boy! But then we went to Subway for lunch and he recovered.

Wow! Excited about the OK news. Have been checking frequently. Three eggs! Can hardly wait until tomorrow to see the cam, new nest, etc!!! Might have to get out my submarine and head up that way. lol Up periscope!!!

Good evening everybody. Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I had a great day. Went to Bluefield, Sissy cooked chicken and dumplings and mac and cheese. Then we had a great cake. Got back home about an hour ago.

NatureNut said...

Wow, Lolly. What a sports day.
Can't believe OK has 3 eggs! Yes, you'll have to get the submarine on it's trailer!

stronghunter said...

Going to say goodnight. See you tomorrow. I am really tired.

NatureNut said...

Congrats, Sharon~~~what a yummy B'Day!
Was kinda quiet this evening~~we thought everyone went to your party! ☺

Lolly said...

Tonight Jack and I discovered a red shoulder hawk nest two doors down in a tall pine tree.
So excited as we can see the nest well with our binoculars. We had a nest in our yard for three years. Then they did not return and then we lost the tree. A nest has been in the back acre across the street but we could not see the nest. Now is is much closer. Could make out the hawk sitting in the nest. Could see the top of her head and eye. Really excited!

Ragdoll said...

Happy, Happy Birthday Sharon.

Hello Lolly!

Thank you Paula for all the info.

NatureNut, I go whale watching every summer. I LOVE the Humpback whales. It will never happen but I would like to swim in the ocean with the Humpies. The are so big yet gentle. They come right up to the boat and look at you. Awesome!
Call me crazy!!!

Ragdoll said...

Egg Roll, wiggle, wiggle, double wiggle. So Cute.

Costume Lady said...

Was it the Humpback whale that was disentangled from something and when released, went to each rescuer as if to thank them? That was a very touching story.

Sleep well, dear friends. Will be nice to see OK up tomorrow. Also, check out Lily and Hope: warmer temp and more fur is making for more visibility!

Good night. Love all y'all.

Good Night All My New Eagle Friends.
Prayers for all and sweet dreams. ^..^

Lolly said...

Good night all! Yes, Jo, he gave his all! He really cared and tried so hard. I am so proud of him! Both games..bb and soccer, he played the whole time. He's a tough one! He is also a stinker!! He is in that age...where burping is funny. Oh, what are we going to do with him?!! lol He has also been asked to play League basketball by his coach, so guess basketball and soccer will continue for a while. And Jacob had t-ball practice. Just think what it will be like when Zach gets into sports.

Okay, I too am headed towards the back of the house.

See you tomorrow. Getting jealous of those of you who have received your magazine. Looking forward to receiving mine.

Nite all! Sweet dreams!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Oh my, I almost forgot. I did get my magazine today! What a beautiful article. Thanks Lynn and Normabyrd. Love you both!

Okay, I'm now caught up but heading to my chair. I'm so tired tonight. Youngest vacuumed the whole downstairs after he got what he needed to fix our ceiling kitchen light. Now we have light!
I know there are mistakes but I'm too tired to fix tonight.

Tomorrow I'd like to find the OK cam you all were talking about. If someone would please leave a link or email me I'd appreciate it.

Now, I'm going, going, gone.

Good morning!

Hope all is well with everyone. I am going to try to clean my bedroom today. Now that I have said it, maybe I will actually get it done.

I was afraid I was going to have to buy a new refrigerator today. Last night, I had a glass of milk, and it was really warm. I turned the fridge down another notch and went to bed. Of course, that is when I got to thinking that maybe the thing had died, so this morning I went down to check, and I could hear it running as soon as I went into the kitchen. It is reallllly cold in there. I may have to back it off to keep things from freezing.

The refrigerator is 16 years old. I would like to get a bit more time out of it, but the kids say I need a bigger one. Only thing is, I think I mostly need a bigger one just when they are here, but it would be nice.

See you later . . .

I'm sitting here eating a toasted ham and cheese sandwich and putting my make up on. I can multi-task when necessary:)
Lynn, to answer your question of yesterday: GG has been falling...without dizziness or any warning. She had a good evening with family Friday evening, but as she was going to put her PJs on, she fell in the hallway and hit her head. "Hospital? Oh no, I'd rather lay here in this hallway!"
I told her yesterday that if she wouldn't go to the hospital to get checked out that I was going to buy her a HELMET! "I'd rather wear a helmet than go to THAT hospital again!". She did agree to let me tell her doctor about these falling incidents.

stronghunter said...

Lynn, I wouldn't want to put much money into the thing. Last time I had someone service it, I asked why the ice maker always has an iceberg in the back, and he said that I need a new ice maker, but the price he quoted would buy a basic fridge, so I still have the old ice maker.

It is possible I had left the milk out longer than I thought I had. There wasn't much in the bottle, so it would have warmed up quickly.

stronghunter said...

Yes, Wanda, I think you would have to tell the doctor even without her consent.

MeMa Jo I so relate to your thoughts of not being a burden or problem to either of my kids. I too hope I remember this as I grow older and make the responsible decisions I need to make as I finish my parenting responsibilities. It gets so hard though as parents age as they don't make their decisions with quite the same tools they used so well n their younger years.

On the live feed, I checked for Adobe updates, and there does seem to be a newer version (10.0.45.2) available than what I have after updating last week, I think.

The bad news is that I tried downloading the new one, and the live feed still doesn't show.

Maybe I'll try restarting the system.....

This discrepancy could be the problem.

The ground is soaked! Laurel's house back up to a pasture with overflowing ponds. The land slopes towards her house. Nothing but vasts amount of money, vasts amount of earth moving can take care of the problem. They have lived there for 9 years and they had water in their house one time.

Certainly glad GG had a good day.

We watched the Oscars (the last hour of it) and I was glad to see Jeff Bridges win best actor. I like Sandra Bullock but would have liked the star of Precious win (can't spell her name).

Good morning everyone. Surely hoping our live cam comes back on for us very very soon. Wishing you a good day. Yesterday wasn't so good for my Tom and Ana. They had driven the 5 hours to Atlanta to see the race. Got as far as their seats when Ana bent over in excruciating pain. To make a long story short they ended up in a hospital in Atlanta and she has been admitted. They are cooling a hot gall bladder and then taking it out. Tom meanwhile has been very sick with the flu and I don't even know if he is at the hospital with her or has driven back to Hinesville to stock the boys up with food for a few days and sort out the meds the kids need to give to the Black Lab Jack who is epileptic. I will hear from him at some point today as to hopefully when surgery is planned, how he is feeling and that he is or has made that 10 hour round trip and gotten things squared away back on the homefront. So I am tired. Good thing the sun is going to shine. I think Dex and I will go "stroll" in the park for a while.

Norma The boys are by themselves but they are now both in High School. Just have to care for themselves and all the critters especially the one with the seizure occasionally. It will be Mac and Cheese and micro meals for them but they will do ok. Yes its going to be a very long week and has already been a pretty long few days. I will be glad when the phone rings with more information.

Mattie Most of us WOMEN have a few questions or comments about this "gift" of womanhood. You are a wonderful young lady. Be sure all the fellows who will come into your world know that and treat you that way. Otherwise move on to someone who will. Hmmm do I sound like I have worked at a shelter for a while?
