I have return home with one new pair of shoes - daughter went home with two new pairs! Lovely lunch especially when we split a piece of p-nutbutter pie!
Happy to come back to the fresh thread! Need to read up on what I missed.
Hi Mits, Lolly, Paula and Judie.
Paula looks as though you are getting a shopping area across the road from you on RT 26 - Clemson Corner. Hope they have some stores you like.
Sharon had called earlier but I hadn't come home yet. But just hung up and they are now headed for Bedford. Bev is driving her vehicle and headed for Bluefield! While visiting the nest Sharon was interviewed by the local TV station (WEVC .com) I sure hope we will get to see it later today. She said she would be on the blog in about 3 hours. She is so hoarse that I am sure she had a ball at the concert. Mattie Jane got to go up on stage just like at the last concert!
WE cam is back on, they are still having issues with the pic...on very slow feed with bad picture and no sound...but they think there might be 2 eggs there now!
There's a new dolphin calf at the National Aquarium in Baltimore.
An Atlantic bottlenose dolphin named Jade gave birth to the calf Wednesday night. The newborn dolphin was about 30 pounds and two to three feet long at birth.
Aquarium staff haven't been able to determine the sex of the calf yet, but they say the calf appears to be healthy. It has started to nurse and has been swimming alongside Jade and another female dolphin.
The aquarium notes that even with a successful birth and an experienced mother, about one-third of dolphin calves don't survive their first year of life -- either in the wild or in captivity.
Jade's first calf survived and is now three. The birth brings the aquarium's dolphin population to 11.
All dolphin shows have been temporarily suspended.
Thanks, Steve, for the new thread! Got stuck on the other side, so will bring this over:
Good Afternoon, Everyone! Sorry you are getting rain at the nest! Poor Belle and Lib sure have had some lousy weather this season! Glad it's NOT the S-word, though.
Have been doing housework and laundry like a crazy woman today in an effort to get it all done before the weekend. Have put a pretty good dent in it.
Mighty good to see that Judie has Spring Break! What a relief, I'm sure!
Saying prayers for GG and Wanda--hope the Dr. can fix the problems easily.
Here's a picture of my daffodil and my tulips--they're loving the weather here. Hope yours improves speedily! Better go get some lunch now, but will BBL. :o]
03/12/10: Technical Note We think there is an issue with the PC, so we're checking our computer to restart the image updating. Thanks for your patience.
Went out and worked in the yard for a while. Decided to call it a day and not ruin my back. It is up to 67 and the wind is something else! That is good, as it help with drying out things.
Jack is back at work. ☺ He is in at his desk on a teleconference.
Judie and Shirley....retirement is wonderful. Teaching is a fantastic career but no job quite takes all your time as teaching does. I was so tired when I retired and now I have a real life. ☺
Oh, wow, those pancakes sound wonderful!! I am presently having strawberries with light yogurt. After having a grand breakfast this morning I do not dare eat anything else!
I got six or seven minutes of live feed, then just sound no movement, refreshed and got another 3 mins... steady rain a'fallin...going to be a tough soggy few days for our Royal Pair and Royal egglet...
my brother in Naples FLA said they were getting sideways monsoon type rain today.... background at Dunedin looks like there is a lot of standing water on the course
Ha Ha Hee Hee Ho Ho Judie...are you serious? Actually I kind of like turnips ☺
hope you enjoy the evening...
Mits is so very right about those Peepers ! If you can, try to listen for them..they should be singing through the evening... little frogs... a precious sign of Spring!
Hubby & I just finished our Lenten Friday night pizza! We don't do pizza very often so we get our fill during Lent. Andrea - your avatar is beautiful! My tulips are about 2 inches out of the ground but will probably take weeks for any to bloom. Wanda Any news from GG's Dr appointment to share. It's scary about the falling. I hope the reason for it will be found.YOU need to take care of yourself and Gene - This will be a very tiring time for you. Offer it all up and He will guide you through it.
and when Mits said Peepers I went back to the live feed...saw the changing of the guard and one of the best egg views yet ... and another one just now... you rock, Helen!
beautiful glistening glow on the eagle now at our nest with the night light on....
Mits Great to hear about the dolphin baby! I wonder how soon he would be on display?
Hoping that the Valmont Owl, Snowflake starts a second clutch. Momma Owl sitting in the eagles' nest in MN - shaking her head from the rain but I have never seen her off of those eggs.
pretty hard to disappear with all this news on here... better go look at IWS now... remembered about the Santa Cruz peregrines too and was looking at them yesterday...
I have not been there in several years either..we have been members since it opened, and we renew the membership for the kids every Christmas as a gift...they love to go.
Margy, OK came up OK for me...did you find the new nest link on the upper right of the homepage? I see they have redesigned their website, you can now post comments under the cam pic too.
anyone have any ideas about the site for Okla Eagle nest I went to the Maine Forum, saw some awesome pictures, tried their link and it does not bring me to the nest pls and thx
Sutton has the little circles like it is going to open but it isn't..am I going to have to upgrade something you think? Wow the bird picture gallery, something else ! Thanks Lolly also
It is still light there. However, I can only get the cam that is far away that shows the tree. Can not get up the cam on the nest. Little circle thingy is going round and round.
Sharon has on FB a video of Mattie on stage with the Trainetts! This has been so great for her. Sharon said she got a new Trinett shirt when I asked if she had worn the shirt she got the first time.......
Thanks for the link to Sutton Center, Paula. Bookmarked it as the previous one I had isn't there anymore. Both views came up - Nest and the Tree Great!
My old link didn't work Try the url that Paula gave us or this is the page with the 2 cams - I had to really exert my patience before the pics just popped on.........
I have the new web page. I posted the tiny URL, the cams will just not come up. Got the one on the right, but then lost it. Now I can not even get circle things, just black.
Shar and Thelma, so glad you are home safe and sound. Did Sissy and Mattie make it to Bluefield okay? Sounds like you all really had fun! Sorry you didn't make the cut on the news!
I might be the first to check out... going to finish the sleeping I did earlier in the day
Good Night to all....hope it IS a good night Prayers continue for all the things we are praying for together...and any new things we might not know about yet.
Shirley, I hope you read this before you turn in for the night. After telling GG's doctor about dizziness and falling, I asked him if there was anything she SHOULDN'T be doing...he caught my drift and told her NOT to drive. She never said a word the rest of her office visit and all the way home!
GG's blood pressure was pretty high, so he increased her dosage to 2 pills instead of 1 and taking her off a few pills to see what may help. Also did blood work...results Monday. So sleepy... GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS SLEEP TIGHT PRAYERS FOR ALL
Prayers for GG and for you Wanda. We always told Mother that we were not going to tell her not to drive, but we wanted her to stop driving. It was up to her, but she knew our wishes. One day she told my brother she was not going to drive anymore. He sold her car immediatly. She had alredy moved from her home to "retirement living".(Not assisted) If Larry could not take her anywhere they had a shuttle bus. She really enjoyed her apartment. She enjoyed the meals with the ladies she sat with each day. Only thing she did not like was having to dress for breakfast. lol She did have a refrig and microwave in her apartment, so she could fix a small breakfast in her rooms. She had two rooms, bedroom and living area. VERY NICE!
Guess I'm getting on here so late it's time for nighty-night!!! Had dinner, did some laundry, watched TV & shampooe4d hair. All eso I can get up early for work. BOO Was feeling sorry for our poor birds sitting in the rain & covering Eggbert.
Just checked NBG, too.Very windy, but sokmeone on chat said it's probably the tree with the cam blowing more. Well gotta dry hair & hit the hay, so Pleasant Feather Dreams to all ;>)
Home from the play. Not a favorite. Best part was man behind me is the grandfather of an actor (just finished college) making his debut performance. Granddaddy was ever so proud.
Fun: stopped for breakfast at a little hole in the wall diner mostly known to locals. Sat down, looked up and straight into Alex Ovechin's (sp) face. He was with a fellow player. He is cute. They look so young.
Sharon, thank you for the great pictures and so happy you all had such a fun time.
Off to sleep. Laundry and grading tomorrow. Will stop by to catch up.
Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others. Andy, if you come in, will you set the alarm for us, please?
Sure are some wet birds all over the place this morning! Tom had to get a boat to get to their shop this morning. He said the water wasn't up in the shop yet but the parking lot is completely under water.
So, State Of Emergency...Does that mean if we have damage, we can get help from the State? I have a feeling our wall is going to wash right down out here beside the house, along with our neighbors yard!!
I could only see one too! I wish I had gone to NBG while I was down there, but it was raining when we left and I had a car load. Just seemed like a good idea to head home, ya know?
So it's GG meds that are causing the dizziness? Must have been hard for her to hear the Dr say she shouldn't be driving. Prayers for her, and you too Wanda.
Sorry about the roof leaking Megan.
TWO at NBG now...how cute!
Bev, that Tom is too much...the postal service would love to have him....neither blizzard nor flood has kept him from his appointed duties! Been checking out everyone's pictures from the TRAIN ride and I'm so glad everyone had such a good time, and got home safely!
Margy, please be careful when you are outside today. We've heard some breaking tree limbs.
Well, at 5am, I heard Brother Cat, aka Freakshow in a Fur Jumpsuit. He was howling like mad outside the bedroom window. Interesting, as the window is on the SECOND FLOOR! I have NO idea how he got up there...the porch roof runs along that part of the house, but I cannot figure HOW, much less WHY he got up there! Too high to jump up to. Only thing we can figure is that he jumped on one of the trash cans, then jumped about 3 feet to the little over hang roof over the oil tank shed thingy attached around the corner, walked through the gutter (the house roof from there is steep and pointed so I doubt he attempted that in his adventure) all the way to the porch roof....in the pouring rain and wind. ?????????????
Switch at our nest. Wow, is it windy. It is calm here this morning.
Wanda, I just read your message about GG's doctor's visit. I hope she heeds the doctor's advice. I expect she knew. It just needed to be said by the right person.
Okay, something strange has just happened! For a very long time, I had been getting phone calls for someone I have never heard of. They have been mostly about unpaid bills, though I think one was about a job. Well, my phone just rang and I swear she answered. Maybe I need to call the phone company. I have the message recorded because it went to voice mail.
Shirley, have you considered visiting a doctor about the voices you are hearing? Check the yellow pages under schizophrenia. Yep, that sure is strange so save the evidence.
Congratulations again to NBG. Haven't seen the newest arrival. Maybe sometime today.
Wanda, sure hope GG decides on her own to stop driving. Trying to catch up -- were the falling issues due to medication or not sure yet?
Margy, hope you have a nice camera day even if it is raining.
Off for coffee and newspaper. Rain, rain go away. Come again another day.
Good Morning in Eagleland even though it is a wet one again and other cams watchers; Sissy, Megan, Margy, Ceil, Lynne2, Shirley and (Shirley's Haunted phone line and those coming in.
Hay Megan maybe at Halloween you can use Shirley's Haunted Phone Line.
Sorry Wanda about GG and what the dr. told her. I hope she listens.
Mom was going to give up her license when she turned 80. Then she told her Dr. and he said, "why your in good health and you have no problems". She went to DMV and talk to them they checked her out there eye exam and what ever else. They said there is no reason for you to turn in your license. I ask her why she did it, "she said she just thought at 80 maybe your suppose to".
Oh look at that baby at NBG stick its little head way out there for that feeding ......so cute.
Soggy good morning to all y'all. I got caught! Stepped out--rain had stopped. Put umbrella back in house and got half-way out driveway when it let loose again!! At least coat had a hood. LOL!
Celtic Thunder on CBS Saturday Morning show! What a great-looking bunch of young men.
sure thinking about GG and all the family today.....an important and emotional crossroads.... I knew how my mother felt when she got the word she couldn't drive anymore...
Very strange, Shirley, for sure. Must be some crosstalk for some reason....maybe plow-damaged phone boxes. I saw lots of those green boxes smashed or laying over when I was out and about.
Surely George would have sniffed them out by now. It has been a long time! Don't think George has been running up any charge accounts or talking on the phone.
Good morning everybody. It was so great being at NBG yesterday. Now I can officially say I have seen 4 eagles. Beautiful but my heart stills flutters more when I see Liberty and Belle! It was really good though. I got to meet Reese. he really shares a lot of knowledge. He said he reads our blog occasionally. :)
SORRY KIDS!---I published the BB SCORE as soon as I checked in!---Now that I have read the blog---That score seems way down on the scale of importance!---with all the health problems GG has been going through---WANDA!---Will keep you on my pray list!!----
Early Morning show had a beautiful picture of a cruise ship and penquins walking. What was unusual was "one of the penquins did not have any white on it all gray". They said the guy that took that video or picture. Really has something ususual.
We are expecting FLOODING!---Last night a couple of friends that live along the POTOMAC had moved some of their valuables to the upstairs!!-----It happens here too often!---need prayers!

Oh, Margy, I have to share: I decided to give up something for Lent, and gave up turnips.
Off to the Kennedy Center. Not sure that I'm going to like this one but, I'll try to consider it a "teaching moment."
BBL to say goodnight.
Still raining hard here....like Margy, saw lots of high water while I was out, too. NOAA radio alert now for flood warnings.
This is COOL: Calvin Coolidge High in DC has appointed a woman as head varsity football coach. Wow!!
well good for them:)
Offer it all up and He will guide you through it.

oh forgive me for mentioning that...
they were saying on TV last night NYC is supposed to get 3 to 6 inches of rain..if this had been snow, they said it would be 30 to 60 inches
Blog page for MN Bound Owl's Nest
This points out some things I hadn't thought about when the forecast was for floods affecting them.
That song is very appropriate for our little fluff balls!
Great viewer's video of the pip in the second egg at NBG.. It is on the
VDGIF page
That would be cool to volunteer at the aquarium...it's been forever since I've been there...

Prayers continue for all the things we are praying for together...and any new things we might not know about yet.
God Bless Us, Every One
xo ☺ ♥
Stopping by to say good night to everyone. I will see you tomorrow.
God bless.
Looks like they have the spotlight out again on the NBG eagle's nest. With the 2nd egg starting the hatch I guess that is what they are watching.
Shirley, I hope you read this before you turn in for the night.
After telling GG's doctor about dizziness and falling, I asked him if there was anything she SHOULDN'T be doing...he caught my drift and told her NOT to drive. She never said a word the rest of her office visit and all the way home!
Light went off once she had settled -
Took her quite a while to get comfy.
Going in to watch last show... Didn't watch the first 2.
BBILW
GG's blood pressure was pretty high, so he increased her dosage to 2 pills instead of 1 and taking her off a few pills to see what may help. Also did blood work...results Monday.
So sleepy...
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SLEEP TIGHT
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Good night to all turning in. Sleep well----hope you can hear "the rhythm of the falling rain" and that it lulls you into dreamland!
Commercial for me.....
Rest well Wanda...
Hello Hedgie...
Back to tv
Raindrops have stopped for now, just some wind...Belle was up and digging and has settled back in, head tucked in :)
BOO
Was feeling sorry for our poor birds sitting in the rain & covering Eggbert.
NBG is not asleep. The wind is really swaying the tree and nest.
Think I am going to read.
Night all! Sweet dreams!
Just checked NBG, too.Very windy, but sokmeone on chat said it's probably the tree with the cam blowing more.
Well gotta dry hair & hit the hay, so Pleasant Feather Dreams to all ;>)
Harpers' Ferry has already closed parts of the park due to flooding of the Potomac and Shenandoah.
I just heard the peepers! And the pond is half-a-mile away. Love that sound.
Hedgie - the pond with all the rainfall could be closer than what you think lol
I'm going to call it a day, too. Prayers for all. See you tomorrow.
Wanda - Hope it's just the meds with GG.
Lolly - I don't blame your Mom...I hate getting dressed for breakfast, too!
Yes, I am headed down the hallway
Good Night and Prayers for all!
((hugs)) ♥ ♥ ♥
Margy, I love turnips NOT!
Good morning everyone! Rainy day all around, huh? We have a river running through our yard this morning!
But at least it is taking the snow with it!
Sure are some wet birds all over the place this morning! Tom had to get a boat to get to their shop this morning. He said the water wasn't up in the shop yet but the parking lot is completely under water.
Rain..is it raining, I hadn't noticed.
Hi Sissy
That's wild...having to boat it to work....
34 of the 55 WV counties are under flood warning....
including yours and mine
governor has declared State of Emergency for it
Good Morning everyone... ☺
oh, hi Megan....
hope the roof on the greenhouse doesn't leak ☺
or any other roof for that matter
my porch overhang has a very annoying steady stream drip
So, State Of Emergency...Does that mean if we have damage, we can get help from the State? I have a feeling our wall is going to wash right down out here beside the house, along with our neighbors yard!!
Good morning Margy and Megan!!!
Winter Update #7 is on the live feed site but hasn't made it to the cam daily page yet
Well, it's morning, but I can't find much good about it.
drip drip drip goes my roof.
I'm not real sure what it amounts to Sissy...
I saw one eaglet during the feeding at Norfolk but couldn't tell about any other...
Sure hope Blackwater is not under deluge conditions for their festival today
sorry to hear that Megan !!!
Maine Forum for NBG has a pile of pictures from that last feeding but guess no one could see well enough to count more than one little head...
I could only see one too! I wish I had gone to NBG while I was down there, but it was raining when we left and I had a car load. Just seemed like a good idea to head home, ya know?
Hey Sissy ! Think of me if you need to use that Big Umbrella ☺
finally our bird is UP
I bet you need it now for sure, huh Magpie?
but not for long...nice egg pic there a minute ago
Sharon and Thelma stole it, not me!! I just ended up with it!
Likely story...
It's all good Sissy ! You hold on to it....we can dust for fingerprints later ☺
I have another big one and a little one too...not to worry but I want one of those hat umbrellas so I can take some pictures today...
or maybe I just need an umbrella to attach to the camera, I don't care if I get wet...
I am wondering how many 911 calls my workplace has gotten already for foolish people stuck on a flooded roadway..never fails !!
my playtime is over...lots of work here to be done before I go out for pictures...
Best wishes everyone, for a good, and especially SAFE day today....
TTFN xo ♥
Better tie some weights to your legs, Margy, so you don't blow away.
TWO BABIES AT NBG FOR SURE!!
BOBBLE HEADS!
Oh yeah, aren't they so cute!
OK ! Yay!
Good eyes, ladies...I missed it but I believe you !
ok bye
Morning all Reese confirmed 2nd chick at NBG
Good morning all!
Good morning!
Good morning!
Good Morning in Eagleland even though it is a wet one again and other cams watchers;
Sissy, Megan, Margy, Ceil, Lynne2, Shirley and (Shirley's Haunted phone line and those coming in.
She went to DMV
and talk to them they checked her out there eye exam and what ever else. They said there is no reason for you to turn in your license.
I ask her why she did it, "she said she just thought at 80 maybe your suppose to".
Oh look at that baby at NBG stick its little head way out there for that feeding ......so cute.
Seen OK off the 3 eggs this AM'er. Pretty !!
Our cam for me is "as the world turns" YUCK
Yes, it is strange, Judie, and I will swear that she's not at my house that I know of. Don't think there are any strangers living in my attic.
Did you check your closets?
under the sinks?
in the laundry basket?
Soggy good morning to all y'all.
I got caught! Stepped out--rain had stopped. Put umbrella back in house and got half-way out driveway when it let loose again!! At least coat had a hood. LOL!
Celtic Thunder on CBS Saturday Morning show! What a great-looking bunch of young men.
Think Zi Zi was/is on Today Show....taping it.

I knew how my mother felt when she got the word she couldn't drive anymore...
(( hugs ♥ ♥ ♥ )) Wanda Gene and GG
then I took the little Pinto Station Wagon and became the family administrator, sort of
Prayers AND hugs....
Very strange, Shirley, for sure. Must be some crosstalk for some reason....maybe plow-damaged phone boxes. I saw lots of those green boxes smashed or laying over when I was out and about.
back to ever so tedious home chores here...I needed a quick bird break
Good Morning more Morning People ☺
Surely George would have sniffed them out by now. It has been a long time! Don't think George has been running up any charge accounts or talking on the phone.
Good Eagle Morning Lynn-Hedgie and Norma.
Lynn glad you had a hood.
Last 24hrs we have had over a inch of rain. Channel 4 just showed.
Good morning my fine eagle friends.
Good morning Thelma.
morning everyone...feeding NBG
Good morning everybody. It was so great being at NBG yesterday. Now I can officially say I have seen 4 eagles. Beautiful but my heart stills flutters more when I see Liberty and Belle! It was really good though. I got to meet Reese. he really shares a lot of knowledge. He said he reads our blog occasionally. :)
from BWE and BWO....
03/13/10:
Technical Note
We believe we fixed the issue with our satellite dish modem. Thanks for your patience.
Good Eagle Morning Thelma, Mits and Sharon.
Oh Sharon it sounds like you had such a wonderful time. Thelma did you also enjoy Norfolk eagles?
