Multi-tasking again. Trying to put make-up on and get the Live Feed sound. I have sound on other sites, so I know it's not my computer. Going to read my manual when I get back home.

Happy Birthday to Loretta and Sunny Thanks for the new thread Steve. Speaking of sun its trying to come out here and in the mid 50"s. Dex and I will be off for a stroll very soon. :-)

Just had an idea. I really haven't been keeping up with things since the big snow, so don't yell at me if I'm being stupid. Are we still hoping for a hatch, and if so, when? I'll be in Shepherdstown this weekend, and may have to take a little side trip on Sunday.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Twice today, I have had gaggles of geese honking and flying overhead!

My cam is Live with a circle in the middle but I do see the eagle moving LOL. No Sound.

Good Morning Everyone! Thank you so much for the B'Day greetings and cards. What a heartwarming group!
I should be shuffling off to work, but konked out last night & didn't get yesterday's pics posted til now. I put on the osprey(s) I saw!!!!
Had some blurry eagle nest pics, but can tell you about it. In the AM for the first time in ages, could see a tiny sliver of white head at top of nest. So, she is in there incubating. We won't know about a hatch for some time.In the evening could only see a nest-duh. Went back to car to leave & thru window saw a large dark blob way back in trees behind nest. Jumped out w/camera, slammed door & didn't know 'til later that keys were in ignition!!!Double Duh!Started walking back to office. Had Park keys in pocket, but my cell phone was in heavy coat in car!Greg K. was leaving & let me use his phone.Couple guys tried a coat hanger thru partially open window until Fubby came. When we left, Mr. Eagle was still in that spot! Must spend the night there. I can put that pic on blog! Oh well!

Good late morning. Slept in and slow getting started! Retirement is good! Watched the History Channel show with Margy's bro in it--very thought-provoking!
Interesting update notes. Thanks, Mits.
I heard a huge number of honkers late last night, heading north. Margy suggested that it might be Tundra Swans. Listened to their sounds on Cornell sight, and think she is probably right!

just got this from the Asian Trail volunteer who was in China for Tai's coming out party....

this is short because my email wasn't working, but I'm on my way back to the States. I was the only American in attendance at Tai's introduction, and am thrilled to report that he was quite the star -- completely unfazed by all the chaos of the ceremony. At 4 pm, when I left, he was chomping away on his bamboo like he'd been in Villa 5 all his life. Fu Long is his next door neighbor. Will report more on my return...wanted you to have for volunteer mtg. So proud of
him and the keepers who prepared him so well!

can't wait to see her pictures when she returns.

Nice report from the volunteer, Mits. Thanks for sharing. Bet her pics will be great!

Oh, good that Megan was hear....guess I was scanning too fast!!

There is something truly magical about seeing swans or geese silhouetted across the moon! Sadly there was no moonlight here last night!

Want to see if any tax refund has yet hit my account. Not that I am going anywhere to spend it! lol

Lolly said...

Jo....thanks! That put a smile on my face! I am not sure rain is better than snow. Snow covers up black, rotting, stinking grass, bog, etc! Only kidding, of course, snow melts, then you have the black, rotting, stinking mess that was once lawn grass.

Lynne2 said...

Hello all!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LORETTA!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUNNY!!

Lynn...I HEARD THEM TOO!!! When I was out with Daisy last night around 8pm!! I wasn't sure what they were but I knew they were NOT the geese that fly over each evening. What a racket they made, but I couldn't see anything. Just checked to make sure of the sound, and sure enough, Tundra swans! Maybe more will fly through today.

Mits, that is great news about Tai!

I guess Megan is planting, planting and more planting these days!

Jack has departed to have lunch with a friend.

Have walked and now to clean house while Jack is gone. Do not get this opportunity too often.☺ Not that he gets in the way, I just like to turn up music an get with it! Going to clean for a while and then head outside. The sun occasionlly peeks out. Or should I say "poops" out. Sorry, Lynne!

Happy birthday Loretta and Sunny.

glo said...

A very busy eagle at Norfolk. Hope some of you are watching. Nest care in the sycamore too :-)

Lynne2 said...

I've been watching Glo!

hedgie said...

NBG eagle seems settled down now---windy there. She's pulling fluff in closer to her chest.
BWE eaglets were sparring a bit with each other! Cuties.

glo said...

Yes break in the action at Norfolk for a little bit. I bet theres a hatch before today is over. Little one resting too is my guess. Lots of work to get out of that shell.

glo said...

Excellent view of cracking egg at norfolk right now

glo said...

OK maybe not a crack. Eagle moved egg and crack did not move. Now I think it was straw I saw reflecting ont he egg. But eagle is up and busy hmmm. Camera zoomer very busy too.

glo said...

LOL Thats all folks its your turn. Oh Tom and Ana are driving home now. About 3 1/2 hours out and weather is pretty crummy off and on. He said lots of water ont he roadways. Had stormed good earlier. Kind of rain and drizzle at the moment.

Manana will be my uncle and aunt's 50th anniversary.

He is about the same age as I am, my mother's youngest brother.

They decided to get married on her parents' anniversary (March 11th!!), which is not the most Springtime, blossomy time of the year in Minnesota!

My mother and I had never driven in snow, but my aunt had, so we all three took off for the old hometown in my family's Ford in the dead of winter. Battling snow, ice, whiteout and winds way too cold for California clothes (all of them on at once), we managed to get there, have a great wedding and visit around the old areas... Never got above -10° the whole week, but we loved the trip anyway.

Good Afternoon Everyone!
Here at office saw the funniest sights at the pond. It has finally thawed and it's bathtime for the geese! About 50 were around---half in & half out. Those in the water took baths & rolled upside down!! Could see white bellies w/two feet up in the air! Wish I could have done a video, but lots of shrubs in the way.
Back to work.....

glo said...

Well eagle at NBG remains very restless and interested in the eggs :-)

glo said...

I still totally beleive one is hatching. Zoomer seems to think so too :-) Looks like cracking egg again to me.

glo said...

Naturenut I love those bottoms up pictures. They always make me chuckle too.

Happy 50th Anniversary wishes to your Aunt and Uncle, one day early..xo ♥♥

hedgie said...

Jim, that's quite an adventure you had!! Lots of memories, I'm sure. Happy Anniversary to your aunt and uncle!! My dad had an uncle who was two years younger than he was! His middle sister's boy. They were best pals growing up.

magpie said...

Paula will probably remember this (because I was emailing to her about it at the time )

Two years ago in May before I became a Momster, all eyes were on the Norfolk nest near the hatch date of the lone egg of the 3rd clutch...

I had thought for sure some of those little feathers was a little tee tiny head peeking out of the nest....I was incorrect, but it was not long after that...
and that was Buddy ☺

paula eagleholic said...

LOL, Margy, seems like everything and anything in the nest is a baby eagle when hatching time rolls around...even here :)

magpie said...

the Day Bandit has struck, time for work soon
Best wishes for a good afternoon and evening,
hope that all illness are disappearing quickly

see you in the morning sometime

paula eagleholic said...

Think they are checking out some sort of prey at NBG...looks like Mr squirrel bit the dust...

hedgie said...

Have a good shift, Margy! Hope it's quiet.

hedgie said...

Gotta tell ya'---I don't like the CRC cam refreshing every 5 seconds....makes me dizzy!

paula eagleholic said...

Getting dark quick at NBG, they don't have a nite lite that I can see.

Glowing eye and now an egg roll at our nest

NBG sure keeps looking down

paula eagleholic said...

Or maybe they do, but not real bright there.

paula eagleholic said...

NBG sure is peering into that bowl

paula eagleholic said...

Not really squished down onto eggs...

paula eagleholic said...

From NBG chat

The female is on the nest at this time. No hatching confirmed. Squirrel was brought to nest by male around 5:10pm and is located on the other side of her.

paula eagleholic said...

They do have an IR light...guess it's dimmer than ours because the cam is further away

Lolly said...

I bet there has been a hatch or one soon what with food brought to the nest. I do prefer stacks of fish to one dead squirrel. Remember last year at our nest? Do believe we had a bunny rabbit!

Have been out working in the yard. It was fun, in that I was also watching the red shouldered hawks. One landed in a tree in our yard. He had food in his talons. Then he flew to the nest, one left and flew to a power pole. Heard them all afternoon even when I could not see them. No eagles here...love my red shouldered hawks.

paula eagleholic said...

NBG has extra nite lite on, zoomed in and looking for movement

paula eagleholic said...

can't see anything at NBG, not even the eggs, LOL

Lolly said...

Wow, they are really monitoring that nest. Saw when they turned up the light. Also, saw a spot light go by. She was up, but did not allow any view of the eggs.

paula eagleholic said...

Hawks are cool, Lolly.

Very close to hatching at NBG I would say, Parent up down up down, peering into bowl, moving around even more carefully

paula eagleholic said...

Belle up and doing wing stretches...so pretty

Costume Lady said...

Where did everyone go?
I'm still not getting sound at our nest:( I can't find any reason why. If I have sound other places, I should have it there????
Sign me, FRUSTRATED:(

stronghunter said...

Going to say good night. I have been pretty busy recently. I have piles of papers to get through, but they will have to wait.

See you tomorrow.

hedgie said...

Night, Shirley!! Rest well.

Can't see hardly anything at NBG now. Did they turn the light off when they turned off the blog???

Lolly said...

Can see her head. If she gets up off the eggs we should be able to see them.

Mema Jo said...

Good evening - Just took Alexis home after ice cream.
Guess I'll be watching Criminal Minds and the CSI:NY this evening.

Wanda - I have Live Feed on and the volume control there is as high as it goes.... My speakers are on but only if I turn them up to the fullest extent do I hear a hum. It is a very quiet evening... I'll be trying to hear a dog bark or a train whistle but I really think it is quiet and nothing is wrong with the site or my speakers. I'll holler if I hear anything.
---You're serious that GG drove herself to Church - right? Mom gave up her license after backing out of a parking spot and ramming into another car. No injuries except to the car - she just was from then on afraid she could hurt someone. Hope I can be that smart when the time comes...

Mema Jo said...

Wanda I am hearing some wind at the nest now.

Mema Jo said...

Happy to know that Tom and Ana are homeward bound. GA is having its bout with the rain that we should see tomorrow.

Sharon - is Sissy in Bedford yet?
Remember take your umbrella!

Lolly said...

Think I am going to work on slides. I'll be back late to say good night. However, nite to all those that hit the sack before I get back.

paula eagleholic said...

Wanda - is your timer on at the nest or not? If it's not, then you aren't watching...hit the play button.

paula eagleholic said...

I can hear a slight breeze at the nest tonight. Have heard the dogs barking earlier.

Mema Jo said...

Headed out to the TV and will check in at commercial times.......

BBILW

Costume Lady said...

Paula, timer is not on, but I can see the eagle moving. Meanwhile, the 'circle-arrow' goes round and round. Glo said the same thing was happening to her earlier, but I think she finally got it up and running.

paula eagleholic said...

Wanda - did you hit the play button?

paula eagleholic said...

If you see that circle arrow, you won't have sound.

do you have the latest version of Adobe flash player?

Costume Lady said...

Yes, Jo, she drove to church! Just a few days before, she wrote a note to me telling me that she didn't think she should go anywhere by herself anymore. I thought that meant DRIVING...I was elated that she finally gave up, on her own. My bubble burst, big time, when I saw her sitting in church!:( Dustin went home with her and said her driving was pretty good. I know the Lord must be with her:)

paula eagleholic said...

right click on the live picture and tell me if it tells you what version you have

Costume Lady said...

Yes I do have all that Adobe has to offer...maybe I have too much?
This Windows 7 has so much to offer, but it is taking me a long time to figure it all out.
Thanks for trying to help me!

paula eagleholic said...

Did you hit the play button?

paula eagleholic said...

Then you should have IE version 8...it should work.

Costume Lady said...

Settings 1.1.1
Flash player 10

paula eagleholic said...

Click the play button under the picture, then let it sit for 10 seconds, if the timer doesn't start, click it again.

Costume Lady said...

Yep, hit the PLAY button so many times it's almost worn out:)
Had no problem on old 'puter.
Think I will stop in at Best Buy and ask the Geeks if they have any idea what I can do.

paula eagleholic said...

The play button is to the left of the words, "eaglecam - press play"

Costume Lady said...

I got the commercial with sound, but still not sound or timer when eagle nest comes up.

glo said...

Wanda I did finally get it to play with sound today but it has been 3 days of frustration trying to get it to come on. I just might leave it on forever now. I hit play over and over heard the singing animals refreshed the page several times watched the circle and then refreshed and walked away. Hit play while it was still a black screen and when I came into the room it was on with sound. so I think it is perseverance and patience and not your computer. Also I think it involves sheer luck. JMHO

glo said...

Wanda Do you see it circling and trying to load?

paula eagleholic said...

can''t see anything at NBG, ah there is one egg....

paula eagleholic said...

Yes, all she gets it the circle.

paula eagleholic said...

I would see if there is an update to your flash player.

glo said...

Well if she walks away and leaves it alone once she gets to the circle it might eventually come on. Thats what eventually happened for me today. But I had refreshed it a few times too trying to get rid of the circle. Gave up and left. Then got a surprise later when I came into the room the circle was gone and i head the hummm and there was my live feed. Has run ever since today.

Costume Lady said...

Glo, I do have the picture and movement, just not sound. Timer isn't on and circle is still there on top of eagle sitting in nest.
I will do as you suggested and fiddle with it until it WORKS!
Probably will stop at Best Buy Friday. I don't think it is the 'puter, but they may know what I may be doing wrong. They have been super nice. Talked Gene through hooking up the printer for 45 min at no charge:)

paula eagleholic said...

Ewww, spidey!!!

glo said...

well good luck Wanda Took me 3 days and some luck. Sounds a whole lot like what I got everytime I tried to get the live feed. My eagles moved too but clock stayed at 00.00 and circle int he middle. Decided fine I will just let it circle and get on with my day. So I am not sure how long it circled before it actually decided to start, but i had fiddled with it several times before I walked away and just let it circle.

I can't get our live cam to even load tonight, let alone play!
I am tired of trying, and tired of looking at others that stall, flicker, or sway!!! I think my eyes are just not used to seeing things as big as they are on the 17" monitor since I've been using the netbook. My eyes are just tired!
Wonder if Mits has any good zoo stories or news from today?
Goodnight fine, fowl friends. Prayers for all needs and desires. Peace!

paula eagleholic said...

Wanda, try refreshing the page and clicking on the play button while the screen is still black...

Mema Jo said...

I'm ready to head back the hall BUT
I just had to turn my Live Feed back on. I didn't get the commercial this time..I clicked on the play symbol..the live feed cam came up with our eagle..'ringo' kept going round and round and timer didn't start.. clicked on the pause symbol two times..
waited and BINGO the timer did start.

Mema Jo said...

Finished another tray of slides, edited them and then emailed them out to family. Takes all evening to do one tray. Need to start burning them onto a cd.

Watched TV and NBG while working on slides. I think there may be a hatching. She spent a long time up and looking into the nest. JMHO

Wanda, sorry you are having problems. I just went to our cam, after ad, black screen came up, clicked the play button, circle went around and went away and the timer started. Though many times I have had to click the play button several times and then wait.

Going to read a minute.

Nite all! Sweet dreams!

Good Morning! Happy 50th Birthday to my wonder husband Steve!! He's off today and sleeping in!

Dana, so sorry about your eyes. What a disappointment it must be :(

wow, for the fist time in days I have our cam up with NO PROBLEMS!!! No action at the moment. Eagle is sitting enjoying the sunshine!

I must say, the new moderated chat at NBG is NOT warm and fuzzy. They don't always have a moderator and they keep telling people to read the links first and previous posts so they don't keep getting the same questions asked. I don't know...I liked the open chat better, more friendly. JMHO. I think the regulars were pretty nice at keeping everyone updated, answering questions, and keeping everyone in line for the most part. But I guess the moderated one is useful as well.

no fluff ball yet. thought for sure there would be a hatch yesterday. Maybe today is the big day....and 50 whole years after Steve was born, a baby eaglet is born while the whole world watches!

Good Eagle Morning Dana2 ( :

Happy Birthday to your Steve.

I need to go out and sow some seeds. If they come up good, if not
well so be.

Yes if they hadn't told be I'd go blind. I never would have had the surgery. Surgeries for some reason just don't agree with my body. Although knee replacement was great but I have fallen several times on it. So at some point need to go see my Ortho. I just keep putting it off.

Hope your day is NICE ( :

wow, 35 minutes without having to restart the camera! Seems to be a few seconds pause though and it starts up again.
UUUGGGHHHH. spoke to soon, stopped now. Have to refresh. Nope, now I have uninterrupted sound but picture is not streaming...refreshes every 5 or 10 seconds. Much like was described in reading back on yesterday posts. hmmmmmmm wonder why?

Good Eagle Morning Mits ( :

I say Amen to that forecast today. I'll have to get out there now and get the leaves up from the neighbors side of fence. Pop can laying just feet from her car door.
She gets in car and never picks up the pepsi can. grrrrrr

I have health problems too but I am doing all I can do. Would wish she would too. Although I like her I just wish she wouldn't put her act on so much. It is starting to affect her son and his wife. Her son is always coming to do for her.
Leaving wife to do needed things at their house. She loved her daugther in law but she is putting a unhappy space between the couple.

Hello all:) Looks like we get some sun today after all.
Dana, it's way too early to sow seeds outside. The ground is not warm enough. Unless it's lettuce or peas or a few other veggies. And the coming rain will just wash them away.
Have a great day everybody!

nice to see you, Megan...yes, we have sun here now
