I am still here Wanda. We are actually having a dinner and meeting in Huntington so I won't be venturing out. Thanks for the info though. Heading to Beckley now. Hope Mattie wins this part of the SS Fair.
Good morning everyone. I have been out taking osdme of those first day of spring pictures. Will post them later to glo's Glimpses. I need to go find a robin to add to the collection. Hmmm where to go.
Will be reading closely and watching as I can for Palmer to enter this world. What a welcome little one that eaglet is going to be :-)
BLUEFIELD SHARON a close friend of mine has a granddaughter at the same event you mentioned Mattie was attending!--This girl is a real nice kid--Her last name is LINK!----
Good morning. Not reading the paper. hee hee Going to let Jack go get it...I think I hear him stirring. It is 40 here, wind is blowing, having sideways rain, snow this afternoon. Dropping down into the 30 with wind chill much lower. Oh, what a wonderful first day of Spring!
The back yard is a lake and the lower front yard has a river running through it. Always wanted water front property, now I am on an island!!!
I went to Pete's Pond for a bit. I've been glued to the barn owl cam in CA, Molly and Magee have 5 eggs due to hatch. I am beginning to think there will be no owlets. Hope I am wrong.. I've been frustrated with our cam, as everyone else is.
Yes, Lynne, so glad it is working out for the stray. Have they determined if she is pregnant or just chubby. Has not been a stray long if she is chubby. Of course, fostering her while they pay the meds will lead to you bonding with her. UH oh!
Good Morning All! Another beautiful day of sunshine. I got the live cam up/running..wasn't sure at first but it is clicking away for me. Just don't want to miss any action. Good to see so many on here this am. Glancing over the comments it looks like good things are being reported.
All cams looking great from bears, hawks, falcons, GHO and eagles - You name it we got it!
Got my morning chuckle from Norma on the other thread... My advice to Norma instead of tackeling a good look hulk - just pretend to fall down - he'll pick you up in his manly arms! lol
Good Morning Everyone! Great weather day--need to do some stuff outside, but gotta check cams. Late last night checked EENet & there were deer w/no tails at the wild boar site & TWO eagles in w-t nest singing and dancing. Might put some pics up. Put on our search for ISS pic.☺
Loretta, both WT's were just there, one was pulling feathers out of the brood area of chest, and 2 little girls and 2 adults were just at one of the boars sites.....looking into the cam....such clear, pictures with sound from over there, wonder how they do it?
Lolly, you're probably gone, but I can't believe your weather! At least it's not as baqd as Finland Ferry site!! Bet those aren't running unless they have ice breakers! Our secretary who moved back to TX, near Dallas, said she can't believe the varied weather they've had.At least she4 missed our Feb. blizzards.
Lolly, sure hope your bad weather doesn't come here! We had more than our share, and now SPRING has finally sprung--officially in just a wee bit over an hour!! YES!!!
WOW, EENet w-t eagle cam has both in nest beaking, singing, & wworking on furniture. Amazing how pic, sound can be so clear from way across the pond near Baltic Sea!
Pretty flowers, Paula! My hyacinths and jonquils are coming up. Forsythia is about to ready to pop! Got some broken bushes trimmed back, and some briars cut down. Decks blown off. So much to do---need to find a helper! Quite warm, but nice breeze.
Paula, liked that your daffodils are blooming. My third variety started blooming the last few days. Picked a vase full yesterday before this winter blast we are having today.
I emailed outdoor channel pretty soon after they were up, about the weather, it seems to only get updated only about 3 or 4 times in a 24 hour period, waste of space on that page.
Paula, nice pics of daffs. I went out earlier with my cane in one hand and just picked 5 small ones. Didn't bother with camera. Will wait for my white ones to bloom in about a month.
Watchng the Harrisburg falcons all afternoon waiting for the second egg.
Hi! Checking back in. Looking at the nest. Beautiful and warm here. Perfect weather.
Had to go across town for a prescription because doctor made a change and my pharmacy didn't have it. Not a bad trip, actually. Went by my old neighborhood.
I just saw on Facebook that Dr Rogers is at the den to try to get Lily's collar and put it back on her....I hope it goes well, dangerous stuff, I think.
Running off again, to fix dinner, shower and then babysit my little buddies next door!
From FB Lily the Black Bear Lynn Rogers is on his way back to Lily's den to try again to retrieve Lily's collar -- and hopefully get it back on her. -- SM 29 minutes ago ·
I have never seen Hope...my old 'puter wouldn't stay put on that cam long enough for me to get a look-see. I did see one that Lolly put on Facebook. I love my new 'puter. Still soooo much for me to learn!
Missed all the commotion with Lily. Hope there was no problems. When I looked I saw the collar, or so I thought. Is that noise Hope purring? Sounds strange.
Just visited with daughter and Max. Poor Max is sick but not enough not to talk to me and throw kisses.
Status quo at Harrisburg. The male visits and they talk (or argue) and he leaves without leaving any food.
Sure hope that Lynn Rogers' trust in Lily isn't misplaced.....
I didn't do too much outside, but I am stiff and achy now. Advil time. Indoor cleaning almost done...just need to vacuum sofa. Also did one of those dumb chores that I never think about doing except when I have company coming: wash the cooking S&P shakers!!!

We have bright sunshine! Called Laurel to rub it in. She has had snow and sleet, but just flurries. Not good clearing off, more likely to have a freeze.
spidey webs and looks like a piece of grass hanging in front of the lens at BWE
Off to the store, then going to John's work for a bite to eat...we are switching vehicles, I need to borrow his truck to haul last falls leaves and my clean up from today outta here...check back later!
Around 11 PM CDT last night, Lily hooked her claws under her radio-collar and deftly slipped it over her head—then proceeded to chew on it! We wanted to retrieve it before she destroyed it completely like other study bears have done. This morning she was too lethargic to come out of her den—she doesn’t seem like a ‘morning bear’ lately. She’s been more active in the afternoon, so we made another attempt then. Even then she was slow to wake up and come out. We think bears reduce the blood supply to their legs when they are resting. Eventually she calmly came out on shaky legs. Lynn felt honored that Lily trusted him enough to come out right next to him in such a shaky condition. It took both grapes and your freshly arrived filberts to coax her out. At first Lynn couldn’t see the collar in the den, and then he realized Hope was neatly curled up in it! Hope didn’t squawk when Lynn gently moved her back with a hoe and hooked the collar to pull it out. At one point, Lily and Lynn were shoulder to shoulder on all fours looking into the den together. What a trusting bear Lily is. The collar is back on—but just as loose as before, which may be a mistake. We’ll see if she keeps it on. We may tighten it a notch when Lily and Hope are closer to emergence.
OK gals get back inside. I am proud to announce that I saw the ISS. It was really brilliant and you know what it is the same thing I saw the night before when I didn't think I had seen it......
Well, sorry I missed all the action at Lily's pad today. Would have been interesting to watch.
Lynn, missed what happened to your deck but if it blew off, will insurance cover replacing? I hope so.
Checked some nests and all seems quiet. Haven't forgotten Diego -- he's snoozing in his hammock in the shade.
Exhausted tonight. Only 15 more papers to grade but realize it's time to quit teaching. I simply cannot cope with what I know will be the backlash for grades students have earned rather than grades they want.
Turning my light off. Leaving the night light on for others. Wishing all a good and peaceful rest.
Sun was finding a hole in the clouds as it was setting. Jack and I were standing at the back door looking out....and what did we see.....SNOW. Ridiculous weather!!!
Watching Momma Owl in the MN Eagle's nest - hoping I can see her take a break soon and look at the eggs. Funny that when the site now comes up there is a pic of the GHO! Snowflake has been in the nest box off and on yesterday and today. There is snow in the nest box but she has scratched a place for herself to settle into. Sure are hoping for another clutch of eggs there.
As much as I hate to leave, I must fold laundry and get ready for bed.
In case you don't know what we were looking at - duh - is was ISS. I'm sure you all knew but when I read back I thought if I was just reading it I woulldn't know what I was talking about.
Can't type on this computer either, so goodnight everyone.
Momma owl is getting ready to leave her nest... I wish there were sound because she looks as though she is Hooting for her mate.. She is up - off - away she goes. Two beautiful white eggs..
Judie---when you come back on---I blew my deck off with the leaf blower!! Twigs, leaves, etc.!!! BTW----I hope, now that you've realized retirement is best, that it all works out so that you can do it when this term ends.
Been out an about sure with my Hollywood glasses. Eyes don't feel to badly. These drops have some kind of oil in them. You see I suppose "I'm getting rusty". Like Nilla said "The Wizard Of Oz"..I'm the Tin Lady tee hee
Judie, I understand what you are saying about the grades. That is why I give out grade reports right before the bell rings.
We had grade reports on Friday. One kid got his and he said, "Those zeroes--they are quizzes. I wasn't here on those days. How can I get a zero when I wasn't here?" I had to point out to him--a senior--that he is responsible for making up a missed quiz. I told him that I thought the zeroes might get his attention, and he assured me I'd gotten it. We will see.
I told another kid that I wasn't going to be able to recommend her for honors English next year, and she said, "But how is that going to look on my college application?" Of course, I wonder how a "D" is going to look on her college application. To defend herself, she commented that she took advanced placement history last year. I said, "How did you do?" Answer--"I got a D, but I didn't apply myself." Duh!
I don't think these kids will even make it to your school, Judie.
Evening Everyone. Haven't read all today's posts yet & haven't touched email for couple days! I assume no Eggbert action, :>( Cleaned most of the old annual stems out of flower pots, took another pic of little green tulips!!!! Been visiting Europe on the 'puter. It's amazing how one link will take you to another & on & on! Wow, Gene got an ISS pic???? I only got the moon! BTW, at Chelsea Wed., saw a tiny golden-crowned kinglet. Might be smaller that a chickadee. It flittered around & I only got pics of the tree!
Cool looking bird! A tiny, continuously active bird, the Golden-crowned Kinglet is most frequently found in coniferous woods. Despite being barely larger than a hummingbird, the kinglet winters northward to Canada and Alaska. Golden Crowned Kinglet
Hi, Gang, I've been MIA today--we met Sis-in-law for breakfast this morning, and were running around most of the day.
Did get some Dutch iris ('Miss Saigon' variety) planted, though. Hope they come up quickly!
Watched an old video tape of "Enemy of the State" with Will Smith and Gene Hackman. It's pretty scary to know how closely Big Brother can watch you if they want to! Good movie!
Am pretty tired tonight, so am going to turn my light out and leave the night light on. The porch light is automatic, and so is the eye scanner security. Prayers are being said for all, especially those in need of healing and renewal.
Glad to hear the lost dog is being taken care of--hope the owner comes and gets her, and that they're worth a doggone! If not, glad you're at the top of the list, Lynne!
Dana, hope Little Man doesn't get hold of the water pistol! He's a bit of a pistol himself, isn't he? LOL :oD Glad your eyes are feeling a bit better--hope the drops do the trick!
Well, going to go watch the Hallmark movie, and try to stay awake! Sweet dreams, and will talk to you tomorrow. We hope to go see 'Shutter Island' tomorrow--movie review to follow! Good night, and God bless! Love you guys! :o]
Well, I am sure everybody is in the bed by now. We are back in Bluefield. It has been a wonderful day. Mattie won 1st place at the Social Studies Fair. Next is state level in Charleston on April 23. Then we went to Huntington for some fellowshipping. Been a really good day and a really long one. Tomorrow, after the Bristol race, I am going to meet Andrew in Wytheville and get me a baby boy hug! YAY!
42° and overcast here. Both in the nest, Lib just flew in with a small fish and Belle snatched it from him. And flew out with it, then came right back to eat it in the nest. Lib just flew off.
Good morning everyone. Could this be a special day. MTBR Off to coffee and dog treats here.
New Glo's Glimpses welcoming spring is posted if you care to take alook. See if you can find the fullscreen spot to click and be able to read it better. Also has a pause place available. Yep its a smilebox with music. After this winter we all need soem music LOL>
Good morning! Checked the nest this morning, but no changes yet.
I saw a news story about monarch butterflies this morning. It seems the harsh winter in Mexico has been hard on them. The second article in this blog has the story. Monarch Watch says plant milkweed this year.
JIM, didin't you tell us you had installed Windows 7? I am having crashes with Adobe Flash and seems there are no real good fixes for Windows 7 on a 64 bit computer...know anything about that?

Yea, Mits, they outta find someone more reliable for the weather...

Hi! Checking back in. Looking at the nest. Beautiful and warm here. Perfect weather.
Had to go across town for a prescription because doctor made a change and my pharmacy didn't have it. Not a bad trip, actually. Went by my old neighborhood.
Lib and Belle can come over here and grab some of my dried grasses! Finally got them all cut down.
In from the right, our nest
Trying to get a good look at the egg, but nothing unusual that I can see. Cam seems to be freezing or something.
Egg roll, wiggle wiggle, tuck the fluff.
Picture keeps freezing and refreshing. Timer stops, then skips. Odd.
Megan said hers was doing that too
Somebody, talking to Lily. Dr. Rogers?
Trying to coax her out of the den.
Lily sounds upset.
Maybe it is the baby I hear screaming.
Baby definitely calling for Mom now.
Poor baby wants mama.
whew, my gardens are looking good!
I just saw on Facebook that Dr Rogers is at the den to try to get Lily's collar and put it back on her....I hope it goes well, dangerous stuff, I think.
Running off again, to fix dinner, shower and then babysit my little buddies next door!

Lily the Black Bear Lynn Rogers is on his way back to Lily's den to try again to retrieve Lily's collar -- and hopefully get it back on her. -- SM

I would not want to mess with a bear, especially one with a cub.
Up and moving the fluff, and listening.
I guess Dr. R. was using the hoe to pull out the collar. I don't know if he found it, but a lot of people are watching.
Egg roll. Hard to tell anything with the egg.
I enlarged the pic awhile ago, and did not see anything unusual with the egg. I am watching Lily right now.
Yes he did retrieve the collar. Not sure if he got it back onto lily or not but she is back with Hope in the den now.
I can't watch...too afraid something will go wrong.
OK, now that I have sat down, I am finding it very difficult to get my old bones back up and motivated again!
Lily back in den. Frantic "cub purring." Wow!
I see Lily has her collar back on. What a spoiled baby she has...I thought she was going to slap him/her silly!
GOOD! Glad the collar is back on and all are safe!
I have never seen Hope...my old 'puter wouldn't stay put on that cam long enough for me to get a look-see. I did see one that Lolly put on Facebook. I love my new 'puter. Still soooo much for me to learn!
Love that sign that says "Lily Pad".
Yep, I see the collar safely in place. I wonder how long before she leaves the den for good?
Aww, Dad tearing off fish, giving to Mom to feed chicks at NBG
Or Mom feeding Dad, and both feeding chicks.
Have supper on the stove so have to watch that.
later ...
OK, I am done for the day outside!
NBG chicks all snugged up together in a row, 1,2,3.
Osprey at BWO
Egg check our nest.
Wish we could see into the egg cup.
Big dig going on at our nest
Big dig at NBG!
Entire family at BWE
Breezy at NBG
Sure hope that Lynn Rogers' trust in Lily isn't misplaced.....
I didn't do too much outside, but I am stiff and achy now. Advil time. Indoor cleaning almost done...just need to vacuum sofa.
Also did one of those dumb chores that I never think about doing except when I have company coming: wash the cooking S&P shakers!!!

See that I missed action at Lily's den. Sorry I missed it!
Paula, you've been missing out on the garden!!! We've been playing with it since last year!!!
I had not seen it before, Paula. Very nice.
Our egg in view...rolling, digging...
OK, Lynne, so I don't read every email!!
Would be a lot of reading, Paula. I can't keep up with it all, either.
We have bright sunshine! Called Laurel to rub it in. She has had snow and sleet, but just flurries. Not good clearing off, more likely to have a freeze.
Did see video of the hoe retrieving the collar.
Egg roll.
Diann - love your robin!
I would NOT watch to retrieve and then replace onto Lily's neck her collar.
So very glad it went well for Dr R.
Another beautiful sunset beginning towards the west and the 'baby' moon is rising!
Lily is looking out of her den..
I really don't see her collar
I guess I best watch a video or read something.....
She sure sounds like a grisly bear at times........
Night light is on at our nest.
Another day almost finished.
Late feeding at NBG, both parents there...

Thanks Lynn for the update on the collar.
OK Wanda and Lynn - I'll be out on the deck looking t the right of the moon!
Lynn, I meant to tell you that I'm sorry your DECK BLEW OFF;) I know how you feel mine got blown off today, also:)
OK gals get back inside.
I am proud to announce that I saw the ISS.
It was really brilliant and you know what it is the same thing I saw the night before when I didn't think I had seen it......
I am going to go for the 9:00 Hallmark movie for this evening's entertainment.
Checking out some cams before leaving.
Belle just did an egg roll and then wiggle wiggle. I guess all is well. Maybe Little Palmer will start pecking with that eye tooth tomorrow.
Hi everyone,
Well, sorry I missed all the action at Lily's pad today.
I saw it!!! Youngest & I Went out to watch, he with binocs, and watched it cross the sky. It's first for us both. Awesome.
there was also a shift at our nest and see the shining eye.
Sun was finding a hole in the clouds as it was setting. Jack and I were standing at the back door looking out....and what did we see.....SNOW. Ridiculous weather!!!
Okay, doing a Margy!
Jo, how clever you've done two ISS sightings. Way cool.
Andy, forgot to ask and you may have said -- how were the exams? Do you know the grades? Just want to read that you got A's
Okay, goodnight everyone.
Glad we could all see it together...Gene took a photo. Not very good, but I put it on my JUST FOR FUN, just for fun:)
Nite, Judie...have a good rest!
Momma owl is just like clock work!
Momma Owl's eggs
Out of here for awhile!
Nite, Diann:)
ISS was very bright and perfect view. Had Christie on the phone and she saw it for the first time even with Ranson town lights!
Ha, Diann, we knew exactly what you meant!!!
Judie---when you come back on---I blew my deck off with the leaf blower!! Twigs, leaves, etc.!!!
BTW----I hope, now that you've realized retirement is best, that it all works out so that you can do it when this term ends.
Wanda, tell Gene 'Good try'! I never have any luck trying to shoot the moon, so won't try the ISS!
wow Wanda, tell Capt. Gene nice catch....great picture of ISS
Been out an about sure with my Hollywood glasses. Eyes don't feel to badly. These drops have some kind of oil in them. You see I suppose "I'm getting rusty".
Like Nilla said "The Wizard Of Oz"..I'm the Tin Lady tee hee
Might just catch a few of you.
ISS WAS nice this evening, watched it with the grandson
If you haven't taken your binoculars to the Moon, check it out, Pleaides snuggled up to it just to the right of it...
Good Evening to everyone
read up on things rather hastily
Terrific Daffodil Paula
and I agree with Jo, Great Robin, Diann
I was real happy to see my first official West Virginia Wildflower in Morgan County early this afternoon:
Coltsfoot!
Looks kinda like a dandelion, might be able to post pictures later
real happy to read about Finland Water Nest being on - thanks Mits...
and about the Harrisburg Falcon Egg or it is eggs...
Just checking in and pretty much right back out again
Hope it was a nice day, and that Sunday will be even better
TTFN xoxo
Nice picture, Wanda!
Time to say good night.
Had the still cam up for awhile. Nice to see our eagle.
Evening Everyone. Haven't read all today's posts yet & haven't touched email for couple days!
I assume no Eggbert action, :>(
Cleaned most of the old annual stems out of flower pots, took another pic of little green tulips!!!!
Returning from TV movie.. I really enjoyed it because I do believe in miracles!
Heading back the hallway After I play some solitaire!
Good Night All and Prayers for everyone
((hugs)) ♥ ♥ ♥
Come on Little Palmer! Make our day!
Jo, I NEVER get very far in solitaire on here...it says "No more possible moves, what do you want to do now!" STICK IT IN YOUR EAR!!! lol
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SLEEP WELL
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Loretta, I'll have to look that one up----don't think I've ever heard of it!
Good night to all turning in! My turn, too. See you in the morning light! Prayers for all.
Cool looking bird!
A tiny, continuously active bird, the Golden-crowned Kinglet is most frequently found in coniferous woods. Despite being barely larger than a hummingbird, the kinglet winters northward to Canada and Alaska.
Golden Crowned Kinglet
Bye again.
Wanda, Did anyone ever tell you that you are a Hoot!
I love your remarks!
Good night again everyone!
JO, glad you saw the ISS, tonight and last night!
Diann - glad you saw it too.
Wanda - nice pics on your Just for Fun blog
Dana - hope the drops keep working!
Margy, speaking of dandelions...I saw one in my yard today...oh no Mr Bill!
Cool Kinglet bird!
Belle is facing 7ish with her beak in the fluff!
I am headed to bed, had a great evening out!
Hugs to all♥
Hi, Gang,
I've been MIA today--we met Sis-in-law for breakfast this morning, and were running around most of the day.
LOL
:oD Glad your eyes are feeling a bit better--hope the drops do the trick!
Don't think she ate it all...back onto egg, with a roll and a lot of wiggles.

I didn't see the two of them in the nest, or anything of that, but it looks to me like that's Liberty in the nest now.

It took a little clicking on the pause/play key, but I've got the live feed working well.
However, it appears washed out again this morning.
I'm starting to experience some malfunctions, small ones, which indicate I'd better shut everything down, refresh the RAM, etc. So, see you all later.

After this winter we all need soem music LOL>
the picture isn't washed out, the SUN is shining here...
Good morning! Checked the nest this morning, but no changes yet.
I saw a news story about monarch butterflies this morning. It seems the harsh winter in Mexico has been hard on them. The second article in this blog has the story. Monarch Watch says plant milkweed this year.
Monarch Butterflies
GOOD MORNING...
Glo, I so enjoyed your Spring Fling! I, after reading more, am wondering about the Box Turtles. Tell us more??
JIM, didin't you tell us you had installed Windows 7? I am having crashes with Adobe Flash and seems there are no real good fixes for Windows 7 on a 64 bit computer...know anything about that?
Wow Sharon! Congratulations to Mattie, and good luck on the next level.
Right now, I cannot get ANYTHING on the nest cam site. Not even a black screen. Guess I need to visit Best Buy this afternoon. THIS IS REDICULOUS!
Wanda, I got the nest with no problems.
