Thursday

We are all watching to see if a nesting season materializes in the nest this year.  In past years we have seen eggs in the next week, with a good deal of presence in the nest during the second half of January.

We suspect that the lack of time spent on the nest could indicate that our pair has another nest, a normal occurrence after using a single nest for this many years.  The cold weather could also be an impact, slowing things down a bit.

Time will tell, and I will keep you posted.

New thread.

Good morning all.
Hope LOLLY finds herself feeling better with today’s sunrise!
SHIRLEY: yikes! Glad you are okay!
Watched the game. Not a big football fan. Not impressed. Yawn. The only music I liked was the queen latifa … like her voice. The opera…not a fan of sopranos. Like baritones better. BTW we had a salad for dinner.
NO SCHOOL day. No snow either. But probably some patchy ice on the roads. It is 32. I told Tom some bigwig over partied last night as schools were closed before bedtime…didn’t want to get up this morning. Lol. He said no, over reacting from the Atlanta debacle last week. Either way, they are snoozing in.
That’s good cuz he was up waaay to early yesterday. I used to be the early riser on weekends, we have switched roles.
Off to work. Hope it’s a busy day.
Light, love, hugs, and smiles to all!

Good morning,

Snow covers the nest this morning.

Pouring rain here.

Schools are open. Not sure what the day will bring.

DanaMo said...

Nest is covered. Hope to see the Royal pair come in and clean up! Where do they go in the snow??

DanaMo said...

Also can I just say, I can't believe the number of eagles that are apparently in our area, yet, I never see them when I run down on the canal. I wonder why. I always look up (which will one day cause me to trip), but I never catch sight of any :( And Glo has all those eagles by her. Jealous!

Good snowy morning to all ♥
Wow a blanket of fresh white snow - who would have thunk it! At 5am I looked outside and it was simply wet - then at 9am everything is covered in white

Our nest is not fit for laying eggs today - Hope Belle can hold them in
BWE has rain and is tenting over her 3 eggs - it's beautiful.

You all keep splitting and it's hard to find you at times. I need to read back See ya Soon ♥

Mema Jo said...

Check out BWE
Both adults are in the nest - maybe a switch going on - not sure -
Momma is on the eggs and dad is beside her

DANA, thanks for the update on Annemarie's much deserved recognition ! I'm like you in watching for eagles--you'll recall how close I live to the river and how wooded my neighborhood is. We have an eagle pair that nests at Highbanks Park not far north of me. I can't believe they never range down this far as they "fish" along the river, but I've never caught sight of one.

Kay said...

SHIRLEY, nice Avatar !!!

Can't believe you Easterners are inundated with snow prior to our receiving it, but that is the case this week. We are to have a chilly but dry day today and again tomorrow. Then Tuesday night the bottom is drop out and it will be a nasty storm this time !

Will see the dentist at 11:30. Changed my Wed. appt. for a haircut to tomorrow afternoon in hopes of beating the coming storm.

JO, thanks for the heads up on the BWE beauties !!!!

Good morning.

Raining here on a guest-less abode. Aunt/uncle left very early.

Slept late and may read he newspaper and head back for a panda nap.

Shirley, sorry you scraped your hand and glad it is just a scrape.

Nice to know that Annemarie's achievement was recognized - especially at a time when the students would hear.

Do NOT like the snow in the nest this morning. Please Belle, wait a bit longer.

Have a good morning. BBL

Mema Jo said...

Kay - I don't know how you are doing this - just tricky I guess. Today and yesterday I noticed that you made a comment - then another new comment and THEN your next comment was a repeat of the first one - I've never been able to do that lol

This snow is a wet snow - very heavy. Praying all of us keep electric and that our nest can handle the weight. ♥

What what WHAT was that?
Last I remember it was 10:00 PM Sunday, it is now 8:00 AM Monday!!!

Oh SLEEP they call that sleep...
Consecutive hours of time disappearing!
I have not had that for a week!

Great feeling yet I want to sleep still
I made a doctor's appointment...
What is up with this change in sleeping patterns???

Lolly said...

Good morning! Slept 10 hours last night and Jack slept close to 12. We are both feeling better today, but need to get moving around to see if we feel like heading out tomorrow.

E3....is that one of the eaglets in FL? I have missed out on so much and just breezed through the blog very fast.

Game was not what we had hoped for yesterday. Would much rather have seen a close game instead of a complete shut out. Really was not cheering for either team. Like the Bronco's but my cousin, Norman, is or was a Seattle Seahawk. Know he is happy. He is having more surgery to remove more of the tumor in his head. He is having a hard time adjusting to the fact that he will not completely recover, will never drive again because of his eyesight.

We have teeny tiny ice cycles but the roads are clear. Saw 29 this morning but up to 34. Rain predicted for tomorrow. Please pray that it does rain and rain good!!

Seems like there was something else I wanted to comment on but I am brain foggy! LOL

Hoda said...

Good morning!!!
Did SANDI check in this morning?
I do not think so.
Sorry DANA about another day off!
We have not used a single snow day.
There has been such few snow days that on Wednesday when it snowed in Nelson there were 17 car accidents!!!
We forgot how to drive in snow!!!

I will Skype with Edward in Greece.
Better get off to make myself presentable!

Lolly said...

I know...I was going to comment on the name mystery about Sandi's soon to be granddaughter. Yes, can not believe the baby will be given a name that one parent does not like. It really should be a name that both parents like, after all it is THEIR child, not hers!

Mema Jo said...

HODA - Sandi was an early bird this morning at 5:35am - One page back before this split... Dana was right there with her too. Dana has no school but Sandi had testing going on.

Sandi said...

Hi all - checking in from school while I am doing make-up state testing. These are regular ed. kids so they don't need any accommodations - just a warm body in the room to proctor.

Boy, that nest does not look welcoming at all - for eagles or for eggs! What a cold-looking mess!!

Lolly, glad you are feeling some better today!

Hoda, great that you got a good night's sleep last night.

Dana, sorry about your snow day!

I did check-in at 5:35 this AM - just a short post. Lolly, I agree with you that I cannot imagine Lynnis insisting on this name she seems to love so much but that Brian absolutely hates! I'm sure they will settle on one that they both like, but I cannot wait to hear the "strange" one that came to Lynnis in her dream!

All precipitation here in southern DE is liquid today - temps are too warm for any ice or snow. That's fine by me!

Will check in again from home this afternoon/evening. TTFN!

Judie said...

Quick visit.

Hoda, so happy you got some significant sleep. Notice any snow shoe imprints?

Lolly, glad you and Jack are feeling better. Please get well.

Jo, thank you for a welcome reminder.

Thinking about Lynnis's motive. Maybe she is actually planning a "surprise" such as a grandma name? Wants to surprise everyone. Just a thought.

Okay, off to do some domestic chores.

O K!!!
You all had better sit down!!!
Are you ready for this???

Edward and Kalliopi are parents to twins.
I just met them!
Month old babies.
Achilles and Thesias.
Two healthy strong boys.
Blessed Be.
I am thrilled and full of excitement I can not type.

They had wanted babies since they married.
Medical diagnosis in US said no. She could not conceive.
The Greeks worked with it and for the past two years fertility clinic and voila we have two healthy baby boys.
Blessed Be.

Edward is in his 50's and he got the dream of his life.
Kalliopi is a beautiful mother.
I am do pleased and so proud of them.
Oh so very very sweet. Edward is in full Papa mode protective of them and spends his time making them comfortable.

I am thrilled.
They have not told the family.
Will hold off for another couple of weeks.
It is hard for me to not pick up the phone and tell Carol.
It is Edward's news and I can not spoil it for him.

I had to write to let you know so I would not explode in excitement.

Mema Jo said...

Hoda, I am very excited about your news
Keeping it a secret will be mind boggling! It will be a great celebration once the secret is out.

We are now in a meltdown mode..Hurray
A drop in temps tonight will make it slippery but for now all the main road are clear.

Hoda said...

Thank you JO!
Yes on mind boggling to keep it a secret!
I feel like announcing it at the top of my lungs but he swore me to secrecy.
It is the hardest thing my American Family asks me to do.
They keep secrets more than I do...
I love them dearly, yet this is always a challenge with them. Has been since the sixties!!! God Bless them all.

Stay safe on the roads especially if they get icy!

JO, I didn't notice that strange concoction of messages---I'm just talented I guess ! I'd have deleted the double had I been back to see it. I did clean out cookies/old history, etc. this morning--then, I always have to re-institute my password even though I click on the option NOT to do that. Perhaps the system saved the message somehow and then repeated it ???? Maybe Paula knows how I so frequently and superbly mess up that way !

Glorious news, HODA ! Your U.S. family have been truly blessed and so, too, have you !

Ah so, SANDI. The name came to Lynnis in a dream. Yikes, if I acted on everything I'd experienced in dreams life would have been much, much different. I once had a very steamy relationship with Harrison Ford, for instance ! ☺

Kay said...

By this time in life I should know not to get riled up over the unknown. What I lost from the tooth was a very old filling. Doc had it filled in with a modern day material in no time. Hope it will last for another 30 years or so. ☺

JO I suggest we get a cork and go up the nest NO EGGS in the snow I chuckled when I read your comment
Looks like someone has moveed E# over just a tad probably the parents HUH

DANA so happy that they recognized her on the intercom was she embarrassed or did she LOVE IT
On my bucket list is go up to where GLO is maybe next winter
not for sure of the spelling but maybe SIS knows my moms given name was Christa Freidle Carla Struve the second is the odd one I think
LOLLY haven't read if you got the answer on E3 YES he is the Fort Meyers oldest eaglet the one that picked on the young one so sad to see E4 try to snuggle with him I only turned it on to see if the body was still there Breaks my heart to watch The school next door to my house is mad that no one has removed the eaglet

DanaMo said...

Now do tell about your steamy dream with HF??!!
The stories we make up will be a lot worst I am sure!
LOL

DANA, yes Edward and Kalliopi live in Greece.
They will be coming States side in July.
They left two and will come back four!
Amazing. Babies were born in December. I spoke to her on Skype in November and from her face and arms I could not tell she was even pregnant.
Edward said she became huge in her belly. She is petite and short and belly went out so much she became unbalanced and he decided to move because she fell negotiating the stairs!!!
He was so upset. She and the babies are well and beautiful. Blessed Be

Kay said...

Oh no, HODA, I've never been able to tell anyone the details of that vivid dream---it was back in about 1997. I can blush beet red even thinking about it ! Truly X rated !

Kay said...

Oh, and strange thing is, I'd never given the man a second thought---just another actor and I'm not someone who gets starstruck. Had anyone asked what actor I'd like to have a fling with I'd have said Robert Redford. Maybe he'll show up one of these nights !

Kay said...

As JO says, I'm going to put my feet up for a while. Perhaps to dream ?? BBL

Good afternoon folks
HODA! Such lovely news! Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!!!! Do not burst!
JUDYE: I think mom’s spelling was Fridel (free-del) . Not really sure. It was an odd name. I never asked where it came from. Carla was from Opa, Carl. Not sure on Christa either. Oma’s name was Emma Rebecca Amanda. I remember that because I loved the name Emma Rebecca.
It is cold outside! Wet and cold. Dreary looking day. Thankfully I was at work. My 8 a.m. had canceled yesterday, but came in on the off chance that I still had the spot available this morning..and I did. People often cancel if ice is predicted. So I was glad to put her on the table.
I got a massage this afternoon. It had been about 2 months and I needed the work.

Now, quiet evening…..I am off tomorrow. Planning on completing taxes and run some stuff over to the printer for this weekend.

I put a pork roast in the crock pot this morning. I just shredded it, added bbq sauce. I have some rolls from a special diner that a client brought to me, and will make mac n cheese and peas for dinner.

Hope everyone has had a great day!

Want to watch Jeopardy tonight. It seems that the young man who is the champion now is creating controversy by winning. Some think it is not "in the spirit of the game" to go looking for the bonus questions. Really? I think that is part of the game.

The downstairs TV does seem to have a big problem of some kind, so I'll have to rush up to my room to watch.

JudyEddy said...

my delete repeating myself again lol

Kay said...

Surprise, those deletes are not mine !
Yes, HODA, those names are quite interesting. Of course, I know Achilles was a Trojan War hero, but I had to look Theseus up. Revered by Greeks for founding Athens--the name means "institution" in that language. Is that family fond of nicknames or do you think the boys will be called by their given names ? Their mother has a most interesting name as well. All fit right in with our current discussion of names due to SANDI's saga.

stronghunter said...

Maybe if we get confirmation from the eagles that they will indeed settle here for this breeding season, there will be incentive to activate that other camera. It would be really nice.

SHIRLEY, that gambit is often played out on Jeopardy and is quite legit. Sounds like some sour grapes to me. The questions generally get harder, top to bottom, so many choose to take em' in order, but there is no rule that says that's the way to play ! Bah humbug !

stronghunter said...

Or maybe I needed to refresh the cam. Ah, that was it. I did not see how I could miss all of that action.

Thank you JUDYE for posting the photo.

KAY Edward and Kalliopi are older. The pregnancy was a very fragile situation and they used their own sperm and eggs yet because of her medical condition they were not sure how it will turn out.
Some in our family are critical of Kalliopi and so they decided to wait and see how it would turn out.
They held space for each other and created a sacred and loving environment for the children if they were meant to be. Periodically Edward would say pray for us, and I would always. They just decided to keep it to themselves and I so respect that.
Blessed Be to this new family.
Thank you every one for your good and kind words.
I wished he would hurry up and tell the family so I can speak of my joy. Selfish isn't it???
I am so protective of this new family and want to make sure we all put our best foot forward...

good morning to one and all. A day off! Plenty to do, so boredom is never a problem.
Had horrible news last night.
The massage envy where I work is in a strip mall in Bellevue, Tn. It is a rather congested area, not by big city standards, but busy enough. There are several strip malls with businesses, churches, and a very very popular YMCA. Behind and around this area are many homes.
Last night, about an hour after I left work, a plane crashed directly behind the YMCA. The news is crediting the pilot for not hitting the Y nor anything else. However, all four people onboard died….all likely from the same family. Blessings and thanks to the Great Spirit that no one else was injured nor killed. The scene was pretty horrific I understand…. Just shocking.

Not a lot else. Had a quite night. Actually spent it watching tv and cross stitching. Dinner was done when I got home, well pretty much. A quick clean up and relax time. Rain heading our way today.
Time to feed the fur butts and get the kid out of bed! Light, love, hugs and smiles to all!

Good morning.

Have a good day of bowling, Shirley. Just don't let thoughts of Harrison Ford distract you.

Hoda, what are you doing today?

Sandi, so good to hear that your mom is feeling better. Maya she continue to improve.

Thanks as always for the pictures JudyE.

Off to find coffee and the newspaper.

Have a great morning.
