How many inches of snow at nest????
looks like the outer edge of nest melted pretty quick already it was covered last night

Sandi said...

Judy, I don't think ANY snow melted at the nest! It's about 10 degrees there! I think the wind has just blown the snow away from the edges of the nest.

Lost my internet for a while but it's back now.

carolinabeachmom said...

Good morning JudyE and Sandi and any others on the back side of the split. The snow on the nest looks as if there have been visitors earlier this morning. I hope everyone is keeping nice and warm. The rain has finally stopped here and the sun is actually coming out, but the wind is still blowing pretty strong. Our temp is registering 24 on my front porch.

JudyEddy said...

I just turned on Angie elec fireplace I have a roaring fire going on I can hear Jordyn in her room saying her ABC I wonder if she is ever gonna join me LOL

JudyEddy said...

maybe the snow feel off because you couldn't see the truck or anypart of the nest I guess

JudyEddy said...

so I guess the stick was brought in this am

Kay said...

Hi CANDY n' SANDI n' JUDYE !

Sure does look like an eagle visited sometime this morning. The wind is blowing something fierce--happy to have sound even if it is wind.

It is currently 5° in Columbus, OH ! With wind chill it's almost unbearable. It's going to warm up a bit for several days and then back down in the cellar by Tuesday. Guess it's pretty much the same where most of you are. And JUDYE, in FL is the one in front of a fireplace !!!! ☺

JudyEddy said...

KAY LOL

Lolly said...

Goodorming! Yea for sound at the nest! Can hardly wait to hear an eagle fly in!

We were down in the low 20's again this morning, but beautiful sunshine and now up to 38.

Another front comes in tomorrow night and then the temps drop down into the teens, but no ice or snow predicted.

Teachers....enjoy your snow days!!

WANDA, so very happy for the young expectant parents and Jayden. God bless them and the new expected baby with health and happiness! They certainly deserve it.

Reece is a great big brother to Deacon, but he is only 2. Mine were 4 years apart...thankful for that! Never had two in diapers.

Lolly said...

Do wish we could get a new thread!

Lolly said...

And, I see sunshine on the nest, that is good!

I am off to start my day. Those of you with the cold and snow, stay warm and safe!!!

Judie said...

Good early afternoon.

Does look like feetsies have been in the nest but maybe just melting snow drops. I hear sounds as if someone is dancing on the camera. Hmmmm?

Not much different here in terms of weather. Snow about 2" and bright sunshine and blue sky.

Staying in today to begin some easy tasks. Seems so strange to not be working on lectures and syllabi. Headed to the Kennedy Center tonight - Flash Dance - not a favorite of mine.

Stay safe and warm and inside, if possible.

BBL

stronghunter said...

Hi,

Enjoy the freedom from writing syllabi, Judie. And I hope the performance at the Kennedy exceeds your expectations.

Pretty and sunny here, but plenty cold. One of Hunter's friends just showed up and he's getting ready to go outdoors.

stronghunter said...

Having problems bringing up the nest cam.

Mema Jo said...

I was watching ads for Flash dance - I think I would enjoy it.
It is blustery cold! I did cancel my foot dr appointment and have stayed in all day..
The still cam comes up very quickly- The live feed is still thinking about it and does NOT come up.
The sky is clear - temp is 18 with 10mph winds so it feels like 6°
Stay warm if anyone needs to go out. Shirley I hope Hunter and friends are back in soon.. BBL

paula eagleholic said...

My live feed is up.

paula eagleholic said...

Yes, I do hear the wind...and some other odd sounds! Have the sound turned up all the way...so it's not as good as years past, but we do have it.

paula eagleholic said...

Very cold here today and the wind is roaring! Forgot to check the temp this morning...

I had a heavy dusting of snow...more up the road from me, couple of inches.

Sandi said...

Jo, I lost the live cam for a bit this afternoon but it's back now.

Lazy day - took a nap, drove up to the beach and snapped a few photos (posted on FB). Took my gloves off for about 2 minutes to be able to press the shutter on the camera - boy, did my fingers ache!! It is FREEZING - temp is about 20 but with the wind blowing 20mph, it feels like 1 degree! No one was out walking on the beach!!

Have not seen any eagles at our nest though I can't be certain that they haven't been there.

Kay said...

Can't blame Belle and Shep for not flying in for a sit down in that pile of snow !

Is WV sUSAn showing up on FB ? Thinking of her because of deer hunting season and wondering how she is. My grandson, Cooper, came away from college in Ashville, NC with a passion for bow and arrow hunting. He's in a B & A club in NJ so we'll see where this newest thing goes. He's still doing beautiful bird photography and continues to excel in rock climbing/bouldering. Guess there's a future career somewhere in there.

Kay said...

Time to think about a bite to eat and then settle in for my date with the pols on PBS.

Love and prayers for all !!!!

Good evening! Did some shopping this afternoon, trying to find something for the portrait session. I bought two things but not sure it is what I will wear. Think I sure have a total makeover. LOL Plastic surgery????

Lolly said...

make that "should"

Lori O. said...

Can't believe this weather. And it's supposed to be colder, 45 below wind chills here Tuesday and Wednesday! PLEEZE! Brrrrr. Our high today was 3 and wind chill was -19. Super crazy. I've never been in such cold weather, and I sure don't like it or I would be living in Alaska! LOL

KAY, thank you for the (((HUGS))) this morning. Nice to see that you shared them all around.

Janet and Hoda, loving the "tat chat" you've provided us with.

Sandi, come to any conclusion on your AKA for Grandma, yet?

Janet, where is the pic of your upcoming tattoo? Is it on your blog? Or I saw in on FB and, you know, CRS!

Judie, would have loved to see Flash Dance at the Kennedy Center. Bet it's better than it was in the theaters 25 years ago!

Stay warm everyone!

Oh, I got an 81% on my final today and am very happy with that considering I didn't have any time to study. Kay, it's a one year program - graduation on Aug. 1st. Bring it on. :)

Lolly said...

Yea, Lori!!!! Proud of you!

Going to start dinner now. Just took a short nap!

Hoda said...

Very pleased with your 81% there LORI way to go.

Skating rink here today. Was a challenge and I made it!!!
Did not get to skiing though. I will try again for Sunday.

Good Night, Precious Eagle Pals...

Stay Warm...
Sleep Sweetly

Good test score, Lori, Bravo!

My car doors were frozen shut this morning and the electric cord and hair dryer did not reach far enough... but I found a way around the problem, a little warm water on one door

I start my 12-hour shift routines at 6 in the morning, so Sweet Sleeping is [I hope]
right around the corner....

Prayers for Wellness All Around...

God Bless Us,
Every One xoxo

Janet said...

good evening all.
LORI: congrats on the 81%
The tat pix is on my blog and on my fb page as well.
Its been a good day. The high was about 30, but the sun was bright and itw as very nice out.
By the time I got home it was dropping into the 20’s and is continuing to go down down down.
Work was good today. It is usually enjoyable.
I have had a quiet afternoon. I’ve been reading a book, playing on the internet. I am looking at an early bedtime so I can be up and at ‘em for my float. I am looking forward to this adventure. Floating is supposed to be relaxing as well as pain relieving. I have so many clients with fibromyalgia and other pains that I look forward to being able to give them a first hand encounter with this float tank….everyone whom I have talked to have positive reports of this. So I will report back on this.

Looks like my weekend may have a small glitch…………………….. snow is forecast for Sunday. It’s a believe it when I see it, but if it does, it does. I like snow too.

The kids here in metro are getting an extended break from school. They were scheduled to return on Tuesday, but now that has been postponed til Wed because the highs are supposed to be in the teens and lows close to zero.

Well, will check in later!

Lori O. said...

Thanks for the support you guys, it really encourages me. Love you all!

Enjoy your float tomorrow, JANET, and I look forward to reading your report. What a great alternative to pain killers - I'd be interested to hear how long the effects last. Float on, baby!

Going to bed now...MARGY, I hope you are too. I'm a few hours behind schedule.

SED and see you tomorrow. ♥

Mema Jo said...

TV has been put to bed for the evening!
Lori congrats on your 81% ((hugs))
Margy if you are starting out that early am and must work 12 hrs - Sleep soundly!

I need to fill my am and pm pill cases before I go to bed.

Mema Jo said...

I am saying Goodnight to all ♥
Stay warm and sleep soundly
Please don't anyone slip on this ice

I ♥ us ♥

paula eagleholic said...

Janet..have not heard of no school because of the temps . Enjoy your float!

Lori congrats on your test!

Been trying to organize clothes and shoes a little better tonight.

Only 21°here at the moment..hopefully can get the outside lights down over the weekend .

paula eagleholic said...

Nick has been full of piss and vinegar tonight...hope it's nice enough for a walk tomorrow ...he needs to burn off some energy :-)

Judie said...

Oh my, just got home and find that Mema Jo has shut down early, Margy is going to be an early bird, Janet is going to float somewhere tomorow, and Lori got yet another excellent test score.

Congratulations Lori.

18º outside. Yuck!

Flash Dance was pretty good. Odd though because all these new songs were added to accommodate a gazillion costume changes and it seemed a bit disjointed. It was a good night out though. Lots of talented young people.

Headed to the pillows. Night light is on. Restful sleep for all.

stronghunter said...

Glad you enjoyed the performance, Judie, even if it was disjointed.

Paula, Luna has been restless today, too. We think it is part of a scheme she has to get into the kitchen because there's cat food there. She asks out. We let her pass through the kitchen. She makes a quick dash for the cat food dishes and gobbles as much as possible.

But maybe she just wants a walk. :)

stronghunter said...

Congratulations on the good grade, Lori.

stronghunter said...

Okay, I am seeing reports of possible UFOs in the area. Wondering if Rus and his model plane friends are out scaring people again? They really do not mean to scare anyone. They just like to fly their planes.

Good Very Early Morning Eagle Buds !!!

11° here right now, but a toasty 70° in my cozy home. Must be at 0° or below with wind chill factor. Now JUDYE, that's what cold is ! Of course you've lived in Ohio and know what it feels like.

LORI, good on you, girl !! I'm so pleased to learn that you're in a one year program and now realize why it is so very intense. Just think, by this time next year Nurse Lori will be back home in MD and relieving pain and suffering somewhere near home ! Yeah !!!

Oh, oh, just heard my neighbor taking the Puggle, Kobe, outdoors. That's two hours ahead of schedule so the darling dog must be having a wee problem. You get to know a lot about people you live so close to. I have one very well insulated fire wall adjoining an upstairs and a downstairs unit--half n' half. I never hear a voice, a step, anything except when vacuums are running and I do know when the man downstairs takes a shower ! ☺ He does so daily !

So, what I've learned about you folks,in addition to LORI's grand news, with this visit:

MARGY will be rising soon to face a 12 hour work day. God Bless You !!

JANET will be floating early on today.

SHIRLEY may have had an UFO visit overnight.

PAULA is happily dealing with a dog full of piss and vinegar.

JUDIE went to a disjointed Flash Dance last night and enjoyed it.

LOLLY is considering plastic surgery in preparation for photo op.

JUDYE is shivering in the frigid land of Florida !

JO has full a.m. and p.m. pill cases.

HODA is skating n' skiing in the winter wonderland to our north.

Now that I know you're all safe and sound I'm heading back to bed. Will be up at 7 with Penny.

Love and prayers for all !!!

Good Saturday morning eagle friends!

KAY, you were up super early this morning. Hope you got a chance to go back to sleep.

JUDIE, happy to hear you liked Flash Dance better than you thought you would. What songs did they add?

JANET, enjoy your float today. Can't wait to hear your report.

Stay warm everyone - we're headed in to a treacherous cold spell.

I'll be working on finishing up my big report today. Can't wait until it's finished.

Love ♥♥♥ you all!

Sandi said...

Goodorming Kay, Lori, and all my eagle friends!

Congrats on the 81% and good luck with finishing up that paper! I can't even imagine what it must be like to be outside where you are in PA! I thought yesterday was brutal here!

Paula, great to hear that Nick is feeling like himself! It's supposed to warm up some today and even more tomorrow so you should be able to get those lights down. I got the Christmas tree taken down yesterday and the last of the decorations put away.

Shirley, UFOs???? Tell me more! ;)

Dana, glad to hear that your dad is home - prayers that he will gain strength each day and STAY home!

Kay, you said that Penny loves to be out in the snow, right? This kind of weather is when Bella is especially happy that we live in a house up on pilings. She can pee and poop on the stones in the driveway and never get snow on her paws or tushy!

Have a great day all!

Lori O. said...

Waiting to see an eagle...

Lori O. said...

OK, the eagles are waiting for me to leave before making their appearance, so I'll go back to paper writing. Hope they show up soon for you.

Giving them one more chance...counting to ten, then I'll go. :)

Okay, I they're holed up somewhere warm.

BBL ♥

Janet said...

Good bright and shiney good morning to one and to all! Let the birthday celebrations begin! (Hearing horns blare, confetti tossed, people applauding) Okay so its only in my head, but I am determined (despite the weather) to make this a bang up weekend!

Paid bils..(Pay check dropped), coffee consumed, animals fed, now off and run run running.

JUDYE: so sorry you are cold sis. I love to tease you, but know how you hate the cold. Thankfully for you it doens't last too awful long there.

Everyone have a lovely day. I will check in. And yes, pix WILL be taken! :)

light, love, hugs and smiles.

paula eagleholic said...

Morning all!

Sunny and 28 here this morning all. Amazing how much warmer it stays right on the water..only got down to 20 last night.

Wasn't fully awake when I let Nick out. couldn't spot the juvie eagle in the tree. He flew off..very pretty:-)

paula eagleholic said...

Cool! Juvie just flew in front..met up with another juvie about 3 houses down the road..then they playfully flew together over the marsh. :-)

Judie said...

Good bright and frosty morning.

Lori, don't remember the songs. They were sort of related to the story line but seemed mostly unmemorable fillers. Now, get that paper finished and don't forget to have someone proof-read.

Dana, so glad to see your Dad is home and hoping he quickly regains his strength.

Really happy to see that Nick is his happy energetic dogie self. Run Nick run! See Nick chase the ball? See Nick catch the ball?

Two bambies outside earlier. Seemed to be play-fighting with their antlers. Then not play-fighting when a red fox was scented slinking along the fence line. Poof bambies.

Now I know what happened several weeks ago. Was upstairs reading and heard a loud thud followed by several minutes of a revving engine. We thought it might be a drone. Now I suspect it was one of Russ's airplanes on a pre-holiday test flight.

Off to find the newspaper and a hot cup of coffee. Maybe a morning nap as I think of Hoda out playing in the snow.

BBL

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

No deer or foxes here. Just bird and squirrel craziness in the backyard. Lots of juncos and some jays among others. I threw a handful of peanuts out there.

The nest is in lovely but cold sunshine and covered with snow.

Mema Jo said...

Unusual lights spotted in night sky

Sandy, Shirley - Not sure if you are referring to this article. This is about 5 miles west of me.
This summer Mike Hubby and I witnessed the same awesome sight. Never called it in - we just assumed it was some gov't experiment.

Mema Jo said...

Time to dedecorate within the house. Outside lights are down and put away.

BBL

Sandi said...

Have not seen any eagle action at the nest this morning.

We are waiting to hear from Brian and Lynnis about whether they are having a boy or a girl - they are going for a 3-D sonogram today with a guarantee that they will be able to tell the sex. My fingers are crossed for a boy but I know I will love either one the same!

Lori, how goes the paper???

Kay said...

SANDI, Penny does love snow, but she doesn't like these extremely low temps. We bundle and leash up and she's out the back door and only off the deck a few steps when she gets down to bizness. Then it's right back inside ! By the way, you and I have talked about her size before. I'm keeping her weight at 14 lbs, per the vet and it ain't easy as she would like to be a chow hound. She is in a catagory called The Tweenine. A little larger than a mini and quite a bit smaller than a full sized doxie.

Kay said...

JO, thanks for the link--New Year's Eve, lights in the sky--me thinks it was fireworks.

Kay said...

SANDI, it's exciting to think of learning the wee babe's gender today ! I'm sitting on pins and needles right along with you !

PAULA, love to hear about the Juvie sightings and antics ! We've all said it before, but you live in Paradise !

DANA, so happy with your Dad news ! Truly an answer to prayer.

LORI, you are on my mind as you but blood, sweat and tears into that paper ! Take a few deep breathes every now and then !

Kay said...

That is "put", not but blood.....

Lori O. said...

WOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!

I'm happy to say that I have finished my report. Big smile on this face!

Sandi, exciting news to be heard about the baby.

Judie, I'll proof it three times. I'd have to really not like someone to ask them to read it. lol

Kay said...

MARGY, you're already half way through a long, but I hope not grueling, day !

Gonna give up on Belle n' Shep til' evening, but even then I don't think they're finding the nest too inviting.

Kay said...

Yippy Ty Yi Yeah !!!!! Good for you, LORI !!!!! Wish I were there, I'd happily proof read it for you, but three times over should do the trick for you ! I'm betting it's a great paper. You've had lots of writing experience in your radio years, I'm sure.

Mema Jo said...

Congratulations Lori ♥

Kay - definitely NOT fireworks
These were flying objects..

Kay said...

HMMMM. Then I'd guess some government test, too, as MD seems to have some very secret or semi-secret sites for that sort of thing. Maybe they thought doing their thing on New Years Eve would not attract an audience, what with fireworks n' all.

Lolly said...

Goodorming! Well, drat! Typed a comment, hit publish and the whole blog disappeared. Had to reboot!

I slept to 9:30 this morning! A great night's sleep!! I am off all meds for my head congestion and I think that is why I slept so well.

No juvies, no bambies, no fox here!! Think I live in the wrong place!! So happy for those of you who can spot these beautiful creatures by looking out your window or stepping outside!

It is 55, sunny, but very windy. Hope to get the outside decorations down today. That cold front hits us tonight. Going to be really cold for the next couple of days and then possibly rain after that.

I am so excited about the RV show next week. We are going to buy a new trailer and can hardly wait. We went last year, saw two we liked and new we know what we are looking for. So excited!!

KAY, your little dog sounds so sweet. I am so happy you have Penny. Laurel's Luke has a sweater and he loves to wear it.

LORI, wow!!! So happy for you this paper is complete. Know the feeling of relief!! Wish we lived closer. Jack is a great proof reader! LOL

SANDI, we will be waiting for you to report to us...pink or blue!! Oh, I so enjoyed holding little Deacon. I walked into the house and Jana just handed him over. I can just sit for hours holding a new born. Love watching their expressions, little yawns, and smiles in their sleep. His little mouth is so cute!! His little finger and his ring finger on his left hand are completely attached. Hoping they can save his little finger nail as it is attached right to the edge of the nail.

NatureNut said...

Happy, sunny, chilly Saturday to everyone! It's a little above freezing here and sun looks warm, but there is some wind, so is blowing snow off trees into your face. I'm wearing my panda hat inside & out!
Have to wait til Mon. PM for another ear appt. to see if something can be done. Went to GP Friday and he said I should go to ear, nose, throat specialist at Geo'twn who did neck surgery on me about 10 years ago. I've had annual appts. w/him since, but never had to see him for any new condition til now. Wish I had known----would have made an appt. w/him as soon as we got home. They asked if needed to go to ER??? I said ,not unless you want me to! My habby tooth pills are making life tolerable. My GP's nurse said this is something going around this winter and is slooooow to heal. I was afraid of that. Pennicillin may kill the germs, but the congestion isn't changing. Also taking Singulair allergy pill and GP said get Mucinex & also have more Amoxocillin. Feels like the head is just sitting on top full of cotton batting. No sounds at all, not even phone.

So enthused by all the news on Lori's progress. When you are finished w/schooling you should have your own show! They have Web,MD. You should have, Lori, Radio Nurse Show!!!!☺
Still enjoying Paula's nature report! How exciting to see that right at home.

Loretta, hope you get ride of that darned ear ache. Can't imagine the pain. Hope the ENT doc can help.

Forgot to add a few things to my report which I'm proof reading now and adding those items. No big. So grateful it's done.

Guess we didn't have any eagles in the nest again tonight - hope I refresh this and someone has posted that they were there.

New trailer will be just a wee bit bigger. We have a 23 ft. trailer, maybe 25 now. Just looking for a bit more counter top and comfortable seating. Also want outside storage for grill and boy's bikes. We are pulling with our Expedition and we have weight limits. Would also like bigger holding tanks. We have had the other trailer for 13 years. It has had a lot of mileage and some structure problems. It looks like new on the inside. We have also replaced the furnace and refrigerator.

Love your comments made on the fb picture of the Fritz new tent. They seem to be really pleased with it after setting it up tonight. Can not believe the boys are going to sleep in it tonight with the Artic front blowing in tonight. Thank you very much, but I think I will sleep in my cozy bed!! LOL

♫♪♫ HAPPY BIRTHDAY to LYDIA PRICE ♪♪♪

JO, glad you're staying indoors--me too, except for taking the dog out. I cancelled a haircut appt. for Tues. when it's going to top out at 0°. I'm fighting a cold or bronchitis or something that seems to be coming on. Don't need a haircut badly enough to get out in that kind of cold !

Almost time for Penny to rise and shine. Then it will be time to get the biscuits n' sausages going for Seth. He still has 3 weeks of winter break ahead and I'm loving it !

Try to BBL.....

Sandi said...

Goodorming Kay and all my eagle friends! Cloudy and just above freezing here. Temps are supposed to be in the 50s today and tomorrow and then the high on Tuesday will be in the teens!

Nest is MT except for the snow - the advertisement before the live cam started was 60 seconds this AM instead of just 30 seconds - yuk!

Kay, enjoy your breakfast time with Seth!! Love that he still loves spending time with his Grandma!

Happy birthday Lydia - will have to hop onto the momsters FB group to say the same since she's rarely on the blog.

Janet - wow on your tattoo!! It's huge! How long did it take? Was it painful??? Sounds like you love it which is pretty important since you'll have it for the next 50 years!

Lolly, wonder if the boys stayed in their sleeping bags outside in the tent last night? My boys were in scouts and did winter camping all the time in tents. They always said it's fine if you have the right equipment.

Tennis for me this morning at 9am. Have been adjusting to the granddaughter thing b/c of course, I only had boys. I'm thinking I can really get into having a granddaughter! :)

Have a great day all. Stay safe - I'm reading about freezing rain in some places this morning.

Lolly, you're new trailer sounds like it'll be everything you want - you've covered all the bases. Can't wait to see it.

Janet, love your new tattoo! The pictures of the process on FB were awesome since I've never seen a tat done before. What does Tuatha Dea (sp?) mean?

Sandi, glad you have indoor tennis in the winter! It's cold out there. So exciting about your granddaughter!

Margy, thanks for the heads up on BWE. I really want to see that GHO.

Prayers for all the people and animals headed into this record breaking cold weather spell. Praying homeless people with mental illness have a flash of sanity and know to get in from the cold.

Good morning to all!
SANDI! Congrats on the GRANDDAUGHTER! Woo hoo! Frills and lace, softballs and gloves~ hugs and kisses ~ possibilities are ENDLESS!!!
As for the tattoo: it took, minus breaks, about 2 hours. There were parts that yes, were very uncomfortable/painful, but nothing I couldn’t breathe thru. The rest was itchy, annoying…scratchy feeling. Tim had a very “light” touch. I just sat there and breathed.

LORI: the words Tuatha Dea are Galelic and means “Children of the Gods”

Thank you all for the compliments. I (as promised) sent a pix to Tuatha Dea (Rebecca & Danny) last night and they were very impressed/touched. They had some very kind words. Really awesome people!

It is cloudy but relatively warm here this morning. Snow later, so they say. We shall see. Supposed to do dinner around 1:30…. But snow moving in in the evening. Not sure about bowling. As the bowling captain, uh hem (like THAT’s important, lol) I will have to see from the others what the plans are. I almost hope they cancel because I would hate for anyone to risk driving if it really does start snowing.

Tom did a quick grocery run yesterday while I was at the float and got a few things, ie milk, coffee filters, etc and gas for the generator in case it turns to an ice storm instead. TN has a nasty habit of ice storms on occasion. I want to be able to run the generator….

As for the FLOAT: THAT was an awesome experience….I would recommend it. IF you have any health concerns, more than say arthritis….double check with your doctor before you float. I don’t think it could be harmful in any way, but they recommend that ….just like massage.

So when I got there, of course I knew Amy and Mark, so that was cool. They showed me to a room, which is rather large. It had towels, robe, shower, bench, and the tank.
The tank has ten inches of extremely saline (1000 lbs of Epsom salt) in it. I am 5ft 8, if I stretched out, arms over head, toes extended(laying down) …I could touch the front and back, barely. Side to side, if my arms are stretched out, I can touch the sides. So it isn’t huge, but big enough.

With that much salt, you had to STRUGGLE to touch the bottom of the tank.
So, you shower first, and yes, you can float nude.  Totally private. There is a call button in case of emergency.
Once you get in the tank, you can close the tank door, or not. Lights are on motion sensors, so they turn off, except for a small red light that glows in the room. Once in the tank, door closed, it is so dark you cannot see your hand in front of your face. I did put the wax plugs in my ears, but then took them out. It was quiet from outside distractions…but I could literally hear my heart beat. I listened to my own breathing, which I deemed VERY loud and distracting! I listened to my whole body with my mind and ears….It was fantastic. My skin felt so silky in the water….it was warm, comfortable. I thought a lot about my birthday, about my birth, the birth of my children, my grandchildren, about mothers, about the womb experience….
You know your session is done when the music comes on (or like me, your bladder screams at you to get out and find a bathroom!)
90 min of solitude, peace….
I had one moment of slight panic when I went to get out of the tank and the door was closed…I kind of shook myself (mentally) and simply pushed the door open and all was well.
Shower after, dry off, get dressed, and go home feeling just indescribable. I will do this again. 

It does detox you, so drinking much water is imperative…..

Gotsta run for now, will check in later! Smooches and love

HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY JANET! The float sounds pretty interesting. Can't help but wonder if I would freak out! That tattoo is wild! I am just not a fan of them. But I'm glad you did this for yourself on your 50th birthday because I know it is very meaningful to you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYDIA!

Loweeeeeeda, my gosh, I sure hope this ear thing gets cleared up fast. It sounds terrible :(

Sandi, congrats on the grandDAUGHTER! Very exciting news! How about "NanaSandi"!

Jo, sorry you've had to be stuck in the house. By late week this week it IS supposed to be much better weather-wise!

Glad Seth is with you Kay, just in case there are any problems during the upcoming Artic Blast. Sounds like Cooper is going to have quite a NATURE related career! Do you have any of his pictures you can share?

Nice to see Judie back!

Lori, saw the picture of your mom on FB...LOL! I do the same thing! Keep up the great work at school!

Haven't seen an update on Lolly's campers on FB yet...wonder how they did last night?

Sorry Margy that you have to pull a seven day stretch...and most likely a busy one at that with all the foul weather coming.

Be careful skiing today Hoda!

Glad Nick is OK Paula....whew!

Judy, so sorry you are freezing with temps being so LOW there. NOT!!! LOL!!! But everything is relative. We'll be getting a spanking of artic of our own, most of us, early this week.

Up to 39, but still very windy.

Just talked with Laurel. The boys, including Joey, spent the night in the tent. Got down to 27 for them. Joey was the first to go in the house about 6...because of his back, not the cold. Jacob came in at the same time, put on another sleeper and went back out. Luke also camped out. He slept in Joeys sleeping bag with him and on top of his head. Hey...Joey had a warm head!! Joseph won a $1, he stayed out the longest. They said they were too warm to start the night, but then the front came in.

I can't tell if it's actually raining/snowing/icing at the nest or if we're just seeing water dripping from the tree or the cam. Didn't hear a clunk, but I had my sound turned way down.

Have been rereading To Kill a Mockingbird today - haven't read it since high school English. Will have to watch the movie after I finish the book - don't think I've ever seen the movie.

Hello everyone.

Janet, your float sounds like it was glorious. What a great experience. And your tattoo, & the dinner - you've had a pretty full and celebratory birthday weekend. Hope tomorrow is just as special for you.

Just had a weird thing happen on the live cam - it didn't come up but had another eagle cam you could check out. Fiddled around a bit and now waiting for the commercial to end - and TaDah! There it is. That was strange.

Going to head into the living room and switch my bags - I'll now have separate backpacks for clinical and classroom instead of having to switch it out all the time.

Gotta put my pills together, too. No fun there.

Love you all! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Stay warm.

Lori O. said...

live cam quit working and did the same routine again -- clicking around and finally got it to come up to our cam.

Lori O. said...

URGH! And, it's off again. Going to the still cam now.

Judie said...

Home again. Foraging was mostly successful. Lots of stuff out of stock.

Snot flakes? Well, if the eagles have a cold, it could be from runny beaks. lol

Two bambies in the yard earlier. One much smaller than the other but both had lovely antlers. After eating the azaleas, they decided to rest back in the wooded area.

Under a cloud here. Misty and foggy. Plan to stay in tonight. Am so anxious for Downton Abby.

Weather warnings up in the nest area, Berkley Cty. Y'all stay safe, please.

Looks like our eagles are going to stand us up again this evening.

Lori, I have had no problem with the live cam. How are things going with your new meds?

Lori O. said...

Sandi, I'm not on any new meds, other than those to relieve the withdrawal symptoms from the one I'm still tapering down off of. Now, I'm shaky & have problems sleeping, but the excessive saliva has gotten better. Lovely, isn't it? :) Another few months and I should be done with it. Thank you for asking.

Lori O. said...

Cam seems to be okay for me now.

Yes, those snot flakes are something, aren't they? Judie, I'm sure you're right that runny beaks are the cause. LOL

Margy, thanks for the heads up on the BW cam - I finally got to see the GHO, it looks pretty small, or maybe the platform is huge.

NOPE! Cam is off again, but was easier to get up. I clicked on the other cam link and it came up as our cam. Go figure.

Okay, getting the backpacks ready now. The 3am wakeup call for clinical comes too soon.

Good evening,

Sitting by the fire listening to explosions from a battle between the Star Trek guys and some Klingons. Kathryn's watching it. Hunter is upstairs.

Got in some bowling practice this afternoon. It had been a long time. I hadn't been able to find my membership card. Looked all over. Was very happy to find out that the bowling alley people had it.

Snot flakes? Good grief.

Wish I could see Bambi in my yard, even if it cost a few azaleas.

Oh also went to the dump to drop off my trash...saw 2adult and one juvie eagle and a ton of vultures and seagulls . :-)

Only a few sprinkles here today so far...been a lovely 55° today.
Time to put the tree and decorations away...will bbl.

Oh have to tell you about Nick's adventure this morning all. He was put and I was calling and whistling for him...no Nick. Walked out on the road..and noticed neighbours dog Gracie ..she kept running over to the marsh side of the road..then she would come out and look at me. WellIng walked down there..and Nick was standing on the other side of the ditch...which fills up with water when the tide comes in...and when the water is low it is very muddy and mucky . He wouldn't cross back over because he kept sinking. So I found a board to put across the mud and got him to walk on it to get back over. I have no clue how he got over there to begin with!

After that we took our beach walk and he got clean in the water is.

Lolly said...

Silly Nick! Very adventurous!

You can see his wrinkled finger in one of the pictures. They spent hours in the water, even though it was a bit cold. Fortunately, one section was heated.

Kathryn said there was lots of screaming and hugging when they showed up at their friend's house at 1:00 AM.

Good Evening!

It's been a very busy weekend--have been trying to sweep and rake up all the leaves and "stuff" that got blown off the roof. There were several inches of leaves up there, and I think they actually composted, and turned into what looks like flakes of sawdust and very lightweight brown dirt. It's just everywhere on the patio out back. The tree guys cleaned up all the leaves, but some of the "compost" was left up there. Got the side walk where the trash cans are, and maybe 1/4 of the back patio cleaned up on Friday. Tried to do more today, but didn't get much done, because some light Santa Ana winds started up this morning.

Haven't read back very far here, but hope to tomorrow morning. Have a good night's sleep, everyone, with SED. The porch light is on, and both security systems are enabled. God bless, and goodnight. I love all of you!

Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!

It's colder than, well, you know...

First time out with Penny 22°, but with strong blizzard strength winds--took her 2 more brief tries before she could do her bizness and by then it was 9°. She'd only stay out for a couple of seconds and then head right back to the house. Wish she were paper trained like Malcolm, but have little hope of training a 7 year old dog. By drive home time for working folks it will be 0° with a wind chill of -33°---can that be right ? Tomorrow even worse and the warming back up to the 20's on Wednesday. I have some anxious times ahead with my little doggy.

PAULA, so glad Gracie came to the rescue for Nick ! It's like a Lassie and "is Timmy in the well" story ! Oh, yes, eagles love garbage dumps. When I stayed up with the tracking of the Norfolk juvies they frequented dumps.

HODA, hope the dentist gives you a bit Atta Girl !

LYDIA: hope you had a wonderful birthday!
PAULA: Nick must have adventures in his new years resolution! Lol
LOLLY: I love to float too. That’s why I got a pool, (finally). I love to just lie there in peace and quiet and float. I was pretty sure I would love the tank float and I did. Even in my hot tub, sometimes I will just float.
And the new camper sounds great. Ours is only 19 foot, but we spend minimal time in there. Sometimes I wish it were a bit bigger, but maybe one day. For now, it works. 
Hey Shirley, we WON 3 out of 4 games last night!  We all bowled quiet well…. Tom’s scores have really improved post surgery. He has an average of 121.
I am getting the hang of this heavier ball.

Heading to Chelsea’s today….. she has an issue with her bathtub faucet. Tom is going to work on it for them so they don’t have to have a plumbers bill. Let’s suffice it to say there was a leak, drip drip drip and Chelsea has my impatience (hate to wait for someone else to fix something!) and decided to take things into her ownhands when Tom was showing her what needed to be done…and some gizmo got broken and now they have no hot water. Ooooops.

Everyone have a lovely day. I am going to finish my coffee, feed the furbabies, and get on with a great great great 50th birthday! Namaste.

In spite of all the warnings about cold weather, Hunter went blissfully out the door in a short-sleeved shirt with no jacket this morning. I wasn't quick enough to stop him. I think the temp was in the 40s.

I checked, and it is supposed to be in the 30s by this afternoon. I could take a jacket over to the school, but I think I'll wait and see. Sometimes a kid has to learn for himself. The walk from the bus stop is not too long.

The really cold weather will be here tomorrow. Then, frostbite will be an issue.

Janet, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! May your celebrations continue. PS- Actually, you just finished your 50th trip around the sun and are beginning your 51st. Time is flying by in our lives!

Hoda, wow, a fluoride and chemical free toothpaste. Baking soda might be the only thing to use!

Good afternoon my eagle budlets.

Happy birthday to Lynne and Janet. I hope you both have an awesome day.

It is a balmy 16° in Bluefield right now.

I have returned from the eye dr (retina Specialist) and my eyes are dilated. I will return when I can read - too blurry right now.

Shirley, don't even think of taking a jacket to the bus stop - See how fast Hunter makes it home from the bus - I bet it will be just seconds... lol

Oh, I would not take a jacket to the bus stop. I considered delivering one to the school if there was a drastic temperature drop. Temp here this afternoon was a windy 41 degrees. Hunter did not complain about being cold.

One kid got off the bus in shorts. Yes, I have seen kids being proud of wearing shorts all winter. Taught for awhile at a school that penalized kids who wore shorts in the winter. Always thought that was interesting.

I have not forgotten being in Minneapolis when the wind chill was -60. People there took cold weather very seriously. They thought it was foolish to go out without extra boots and blankets in your car.

I had never seen parking lots with electric outlets so you could plug in engine warmers before. Of course, a car breakdown could be a matter of life and death in the winter there. My in-laws plugged in the engine warmer thingy in the garage.

I guess you far north people know about these things--especially Hoda.

Oh, the nest looks cold. Some melting has happened, but there is still snow and the wind is blowing. It is sunny, but cold.

Hi, Gang,

I'm feeling rather guilty it's so nice here today. We have a mild Santa Ana wind causing the warm temps--78 degrees here right now!
Positively shameful, considering the freezing temps back east!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LYNNE2!! Hope your day is just fantastic!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JANET!! Hope your day is fantastic, too!

I need so badly to go outside and sweep/rake up leaves and leaf compost before the gardener shows up tomorrow! Trouble is, my allergies are kicking in with a vengeance, and my nose is running like a faucet! I used my nose spray this morning, and took an allergy pill, but they didn't do much good. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet!

Recorded Downton Abbey last night, and will watch it tonight.
Hope it's a good one!

Well, have to schedule more bills (Yech!) online, so better go now.
Have a great evening, everyone!
Will try to get back here after dinner. I ♥ us!!

Well, THAT was a short visit! Hi Judy!

JudyEddy said...

Sandi said...

Hi Kay, how cold is it where you are?? Poor Penny, I sure wouldn't want to have to pee and poop outside in this cold weather either!

JudyEddy said...

HI KAY and SANDI we all got to see a brief visit

JudyEddy said...

HI ANDY

Kay said...

Yes, ANDY, your guilt is well placed. It is entirely your fault that you bask in ideal temps while so many of us are in the deep freeze ! ☺

When I opened the live cam this afternoon, there was no advertisement - the nest image just loaded. But I have a strip across the top of the picture that says "Your video will resume in ___ seconds." The number of seconds keeps changing. Is anyone else seeing that?

I also noticed that SANDI

I just refreshed and the timer count down disappeared but still no commerical NICE

SANDI, it is currently 6°, so about 20° due to strong winds. Poor Penny indeed. She fussed to go out a couple of times this afternoon, would get in position and nothing would happen--within seconds she turns back toward the door. Finally, about 30 minutes ago it got the best of her and she was able to relieve herself--outdoors. I wish she'd go on the papers I've placed by the back door. That's where she's had an accident or two in the past. I really doubt she'll go anymore today. Tomorrow morning is to be even worse ! Dadgum Polar Vortex anyway !

Kay said...

Me, too, gals. I was so tired of hearing about fishing and Bottom Feeders !!!!

Mail Carrier just arrived. Poor woman, wish I'd had a hot drink ready for her.

Too cold for a longer visit - really windy here. The rain yesterday is the reason some of the snow in the nest disappeared. If they can get through tomorrow they will be home free with the warmer temps coming ♥

Judy did you enjoy Good Wife ?
Andy you will love Downton Abbey
