Good Morning/Afternoon!

I've been MIA again: Very busy weekend! Haven't really read back much, but see that Lolly is not feeling 100%. Hope you feel better very soon!

The tree guys were here working all day Saturday, and we expect them back tomorrow to finish the job. Need to call later today and ask AT&T to come out and fix our land line phone. One of the huge tree branches hit the lines that come into the house, and now we have no dial tone.

Still have some house cleaning to do, but have given up on outdoor Christmas lights this year. Too many flying tree branches to be practical! They would surely be knocked down from the eaves.

Better go now. So much to do, so little time! Wishing everyone a fantastic day today! Will be back some time tomorrow. Oh--Emma has an appointment for a bath tomorrow morning. She will look so pretty for Christmas!

Merry Christmas to everyone!
I ♥ us!!!!

I love all the cooking talk! Thank heavens we have LOLLY to keep it going.

LOLLY, I suspected you still made your own from-scratch pie crust.

SHIRLEY, you are getting me in the holiday spirit with the talk of cooking and wrapping.

KAY, will you be staying home for Christmas, spending it with Julie and SIL & Seth?

HODA, love it that you're getting snow! It makes for such a festive Christmas.

Just got off the phone...spent 2 hours talking to tech support for the online math project I have to do. So frustrating, but alas, I am enrolled in the course for the 5 hour math project.

Kate is at her sisters baking cookies with her Mom who just turned 93 a few weeks ago. Hope it gives her some lasting memories.

Need to get something to eat. All this cooking talk has whetted my appetite!

I do remember something about the tailfeather from a while ago

Can't wait to hear SANDI's Brian & Lynnis announcement. Hope she doesn't make us wait and checks in tonight before bed.

Merry Eve of Christmas Eve all my eagle budlets!

O Canada!
I am on the gravy train!
They did deposit.

SHIRLEY NOT the PM, THE CROWN.
Don't think much of the present PM.

Happy Happy Happy Dance!

Lolly said...

Woo! Woo! Soda is on the gravy train!!!!!

Taking another break. Apple Slices in the oven. That just leaves the dressing and that's a piece of cake!

Received a surprise gift in the mail. It is from a very dear friend who has moved away. It is a Lennox ornament of 5 snowmen. The adult snowmen are labeled with Lolly and Jack, and the three little ones J, J, and Z. On the top it says "GranAnnie", what the boys called Annie, my friend. It is very special, indeed!

Congratulations, HODA!

Good afternoon all! I am home from work and have the next two days off of work! Woot woot!

LORI: I don’t get to be a wild thang too often these days…..I had a great time, beyond great! This MIGHT be an annual trip to Knoxville…..
I did post some pix on my blog for those who are not on facebook.

NO SODA HODA with gravy! Congrats!

It was a busy but good day at work. Lots of people coming in for gift cards. Lots of people getting massages, easing away that tension that the holidays can bring!

I have a couple more gifts to wrap tonight. Tom cleaned the house for me today and I truly appreciate that! I am making Yule left overs for dinner tonight….a bit of this, that and the other and I plan to chill!

Hope everyone has a pleasant evening!

grannyblt said...

Just wanted to report that we did not see any snowy owls. In fact we were lucky to see a few crows and 2 Canada Geese. But the day not a total loss,, another neighbor brought a plate of cookies. BTW, I don't do pie crust anymore. Boxed stuff much better than mine.

Kay said...

It seems we have a number of ways to differentiate between Belle and Shep. SANDI was asking for the way to identify from the rear since that's the only way she'd seen them so far this year. Has anyone seen Shep's black spot on the head yet ? He may lose that one of these years.

Kay said...

Well, guess our eagles are no shows for this evening.

LORI, yes, I'll be at Julie's for an enchilada and all the trimmings meal tomorrow night and we'll have our family gift exchange. The other "kids" send their gifts there since they know we'll all be together. On Christmas Day we'll be joined by dear old friend, Margaret Ann, for dinner. She's the mother of four, but only one lives in town and his family is going to KY for the holiday. In fact all her kids are going to be at in-law houses this year. No problem, she's been a second grandmother to Seth during the years when I lived in AZ and we love having her with us anytime !

Kay said...

LYNNE1, sorry there were no Snowy Owls in sight, but glad you had cookies for consolation !

ANDY, are you expecting company for Christmas ? Merry Christmas to you, too !!!

JANET, thanks for posting pics for we FB holdouts ! Glad you had such a great time in Knoxville !

Time to fix a salad for dinner and still have a dishwasher to unload and a load of clothes to fold. Women's work is never done, even in retirement ! ☺

Love and prayers for all !!!

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Lori O. said...

JANET, great pics. Thought I was going to get to see some of your on the dance floor. Next time.

LYNNE1, Merry Christmas to you, too. I'm bummed right along with you that you didn't see the snowy owl. I wanted to see its picture.

Well, I have escaped another day of not doing any homework. Spent so much time on the phone with tech support, didn't have the brain power or energy to get to that online math assignment. Tomorrow is another day.

KAY, so excited for you and Ernie! I've been thinking about it all day - with a big smile on my face!

Lori O. said...

Oh, sorry. That was ANDY who said Merry Christmas.

ANDY, Merry Christmas to you and your family. May you get caught up and have a festive and reflective Christmas.

And, big hugs to SHARON who checked in earlier.

The regular stores are open but I do not shop there. So I thought I had better get to the coop. The other two health food stores will also be closed 25,26.
I made a successful trip but the going was slow.
Now temperatures are dropping and I have yet to hear or see the gravel trucks. I will not be going to Yoga tonight. I will practice at home. The roads will Be a sheet of ice in a couple of hours.

I have awesome vegetables and raw cacao and yes I indulged and got sugar free and gluten free dairy free dark chocolate!!! Yummers

In my next life time I would like to live your American Dream LOLLY. Such joy to hear of all the happenings and the humour!!! Mother Mary telling the camel to shut up in her mind!!! Still laughing

Lolly said...

Wasn't that funny, Soda? I guess you may not have seen the commercial of the camel walking through an office saying "Guess What day it is?" "It's hump day!" Wednesday being hump day.

That is one hard working day they have put in.
Garbage was also collected.

The two police forces are out in full strength with check stops. Last week and into the end of the first full week of January.

NO LOLLY I have not seen that advertisement. It makes it even funnier. The thought of Mother Mary saying shut up was funny enough!!! Hump day and Wednesday and Christmas makes it even funnier!!!

Lolly said...

Yep, Soda's her name. Someone did a great typo. I just love it!
Sorry, Soda!!

Yes, when you said you laughed, I questioned if you had ever seen the commercial. It makes me laugh every time and when I saw this Christmas pic I really laughed.

Hi all. Haven't read back but wanted to check in after having dinner with Brian and Lynnis. So ... sometime around June 22nd there will be a brand new member of the Roberts family in this world! Guess that means I will be a grandmother! Those of you who are already grandmothers will have to tell me all about what that's like since I have never really given much thought to me being a grandmother! Brian and Lynnis gave us a framed photo of today's sonogram - can't tell if it's a boy or a girl yet.

Well I'm beat. Goodnight all - see you in the AM!

Good Xmas Eve Evening to everyone! It's Monday PM, 9:28PM here at the "Dunbar Hotel" in Bastrop, TX!
We had good, but boring airport/flight times yesterday, but got to Austin about 7:00 PM.
In AM Sunday, was 72° at our house and it was just starting to rain at BWI. We got to Atlanta where it was pouring, but on the way to TX, above the clouds, could see some beautiful rows of sundown colors.
Re; Eagle Flower picture~~~it is the front and back pic in a sort of video I thought I might have gotten from a Momster awhile back.
It's titled "America the Beautiful" and shows pics of each State Flower in alphabetical order. After they've all flipped through like book pages, flowers fly up and arrange themselves into the eagle shape! I copied the front page and I have no idea of the name of the moving pictures or I'd give you the link!Couldn't find a decent picture from the past year, so chose this for Xmas card.
Everything is just great here! House is beautiful & I could stay for a looooong time! Outside today, saw some hawks, pileated woodpecker, 4 does and a bunny run through the yard!
Hope everyone is ready for a joyful Xmas!!
Happy HO HO, Luv to All, & SED ☺ ♥

Oh dear, we now have Hoda stuttering, or at least her computer is.... maybe we should leave her alone,at least til she enjoys some brownies, special ones made with that new dark chocolate she just got.....lol

MAGPIE: check your email inbox. ;)

JUDYE: Jordyn will love love love having those pups around!

Well tonight we got out of the house for a bit. We drove out to Opryland and looked at the lights inside the hotel. It is very pretty. JUDYE: had memories of 1998 when we went out to the Opryland amusement park with Mom and dad.... nice memories.

It was chilly out. We parked across the street and walked over. You could park on property for 20 min free, then itas $20. Nuts. It definately take more than 20 min to walk thru Opryland hotel!

All right, I have jabbered enough for one night, taking up space here. lol.

No work for me for 2 days. I am meeting a friend forlunch tomorrow. Really haven't seen her in several months. I think it will be nice to catch up.

Light, love, hugs, smiles to all!

I do know they are here, well mostly east Texas and I guess in Bastrop. lo Looks like you are going to have some nice weather while here. Enjoy!

Time to head to the pillows. Take Annie to the vet for boarding in the morning. Shhh, she does not know yet. Then heading to Laurel's. Will be taking my ipad.

Good Christmas Eve morning all my eagle friends. I had a dream last night about holding a little baby in my arms. Sitting here now looking at a photo of a tiny tiny little baby already sucking its thumb. The Brian and Lynnis having a baby part has sunk in. It's the being a grandma thing that I am having a little trouble with.

Lori I agree with whoever said you needed a break from schoolwork. But I also get the anxiety of knowing that something needs to get done and you haven't gotten to it.

Judy hope work isn't too awful today - the craziest will be out in full force.

Have a great day all.

Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!!

Wahoo !!!! SANDI is going to join the ranks of grandmotherhood ! Easy to grasp the fact that our "babies" are a very important part of life when reading this blog ! You have so much joy ahead of you, SANDI !!!! Your heart will literally melt once you hold that baby for real !

LORI, you are sooo cute---90 year old Ernie is not mate material, but he is an amazing soulmate !

LORETTA, so happy to hear you are safely checked in to the "Dunbar Hotel"---it has to be one of the best B&B's ever !

JUDY, I'm glad you get the holiday off thanks to the dearly departed Sam Walton ! It wouldn't have surprised me if corporate greed had intervened, but I guess his heirs occasionally respect the example he set.

Kay said...

So much for the weather guys who said "no snow until after Christmas". There is now a fresh half inch on the ground---just enough to make my footwork more work ! Now "they" say such flurries are possible every day for the next week. Unfortunately that may mean we're sending all this eastward along I70 toward WV, PA and beyond.

Kay said...

Arrrrrggggh. Yahoo is all messed up and I can't get on for e-mail---keeps saying my session has expired and then occasionally the real cause, "Yahoo is experiencing problems". I'm so addicted that this kind of thing drives me up the wall !!!!!

Sandi, yes your heart will melt. It's definitely something to get used to...being a grandparent that is. Oh, and you don't have to be called "Grandma". There are lots of other interesting names out there...

Is Lynnis showing yet?

We've successfully hauled Miss Emma to Petsmart for her pre-Christmas bath. They'll call us when she's ready to come home.

We're hearing the pitter-patter of feet on the roof, but are pretty certain it's not reindeer!
The tree guys are back to finish up. (Sounds more like klompity-klomp...THUD!)

Have some more last-minute stuff to do, so may not be back until late tonight. Want to wish everyone a BLESSED CHRISTMAS!!!

I ♥ us!!!!

I might be taking the grandson and his father down to Shepherdstown, not really sure yet...if so maybe I will get another possible chance to see an Eagle :)

Maybe I will hear the animals talk at midnight also

MARGY, hope you spotted two eagles if you got to go by the nest today. What a gift that would be. :)

ANDY, I love a freshly bathed dog. YAY for Emma!

PAULA, how sweet of Larry to send flowers...sounds like a keeper. ♥

Finished up my math project a few min. ago...got a 92% on my second test. Happy with the scores, especially since they gave us IV pump programming questions & we haven't even done that yet.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas Eve. Kate brought up the tree this afternoon. Love it!

Big holiday hugs for everyone.

I marked down all my deleted Christmas baking good Didn't have as much as the previous years Buyers did a better job and didn't inundate us with overstock So far They still could have some in the warehouse and will ship when they find it
So hope they buy it now and I won't have to deal with it Thursday LOL

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!

MARGY, are you working today? Sorry, I forgot your schedule. You're right - it's very cold this morning.

Didn't sleep a wink last night. Kept tossing and turning, had a headache and a stomach ache. Felt kind of yucky....it's a little better this morning. Must have had too much toffee!

So what's your plan for today?
Anxious to hear what everyone is up to and details of Christmas with family. ♥

Haven't seen an eagle in the nest yet this morning.

Love you all & Merry Christmas wishes for a special day.

Merry Christmas Eagle Buds !!!

Thank you for working on the holiday dear MARGY ! We owe a lot to you and your colleagues across the nation who labor every day of the year to keep us safe !!! Glad that was just a Wanda white space back there last night---for a minute I thought it was snowing again !

Sorry you had a bad night, LORI ! I, on the other hand slept like a log, even missed Santa's touchdown in my hood. I'm sure he stopped by at little 6 yr. old George's house right behind me, at 8 yr. old Lucy's across the street and at the 4 yr. old house of twins just one house over...but I missed it !

Penny and I had a grand time at Julie's last night---delicious enchilada dinner and gift exchange---coming home with a bag full of delightful gifts. We'll return there at 4 today for the holiday feast and some game playing.

Love and prayers for all on this wonderful Christmas Day 2013 !

Merry Christmas to all. Hope everyone and everything has been good here. I see progress is being made on Nest Cam. Looking forward to season beginning. I've been busy working 6 days a week since Thanksgiving since we are two people short. We've been through a lot this past year but my son did graduate from high school in early December. He was in a special program at the Berkeley County Adult Education Center. Great people there for sure. They helped prep and pass the GED Exam and he will be awarded a diploma from Martinsburg High School in June. Now we need to get him his license and a job soon. This was the best Christmas present I could receive. Take care all. I'm hoping to check in at least weekly now. Enjoy your loved ones today/ Thanks aagin for allowing me to be a memeber here and for all the encouragement, kindness, prayers and support you have offered us this past year.

WVJerry said...

Oh good...you can see Bella now. Finally got a picture like everyone else's.:-)

Merry Christmas, Indeed Jerry!

It is a Blessing to "see you" here and read of the wonderful achievements of your son....
Thinking of you and the family,
knowing there have been some tough and sad times....may all be joyful and peaceful today...

magpie said...

Are you seeing Belle Now Jerry?
I laugh when I see the big tree trunk piece on the right, bottom of nest, with the flashy "white tail" -
reminds me of a big galoot of an eagle and a big fish at the same
time
:)

Kay said...

JERRY, delighted to "see" you here on Christmas Day ! What happy news it is to learn of your son's successes right at Christmastime !!! I'm curious about your dog's breed. The size, build, face, ears all look like my granddog, Malcolm, though he's mostly tan with white feet. We get different guesses from various people, but as my Stan would have said, "he's 100% dog" and that's all we know. ☺ Glad to hear you may be able to check in with us weekly---we'll soon be watching Belle and Shep day and night !

magpie said...

oooh..Bella....is on the avatar for Jerry...though right now it is not showing for me

Good Morning Kay!

Lovely report from you :)

thank you for your kind words, Kay...
things blissfully quiet and peaceful in here right now

I have so enjoyed the banter here about Christmas shopping and baking along with the other everyday things that you do. It has really helped to secure that holiday feeling for me this year. So I just wanted to say Merry Christmas. Hope it is a special day for everyone.

WVJerry said...

Hi Margy and Kay. Bella is a "rat terrior" according to the Humane Society. She is a real joy to us. She's mostly white with some light brown sprinkled mostly on face, ears, back and legs. She was surrendered by her owners for adoption so I'm guessing they know her breed.

Lolly said...

MERRY CHRISTMAS! Hope you are having a grand day as we are! I foresee a nap in my future. We have been up since 6:15, groan.

magpie said...

Suzan:
it just turned into a more special day, seeing you here, and knowing you are with us on a daily basis too :)

Lolly, Jack, and all....sounds like the joy is pulsing with you and the kids and grandchildren....let us know when you might see Zacharooski and his parents too
Nap, aaah, yes, one of the best gifts we can give ourselves !

Jerry: thanks, I know I will see the picture from home, I have a few filters here at work that sometimes block a few views.
Thanks for all the information, she is one lucky lass to land on your doorstep :)

Panda nap may be in order now that packages are open and the chefs have begun the feast!(I love it!)
On Xmas Eve, saw some early escorts for Santa and his sleigh~~~Caracaras which I know others on here have seen! A first for us. They are called Mexican Eagles and do fly like that but are in the falcon family. Have over a hundred pics already of everything down here!
So heartwarming to be with family/friends today. We have a very nice older friend of Jimmy and Sherry spending day with us. He lives alone and no close by family.
Makes you proud of your kids! God is good!

Good Morning Eagle Buds !!!!

HAPPY BOXING DAY, HODA ! What are your plans for the holiday ? Do you make the rounds tipping some folks and do children go door to door as in Halloween trick or treating here. I used to work with several Englishmen at Harrah's in NV and they spoke of these customs in Jolly Old England.

LORETTA, what a happy report from Texas ! You DO have a lovely daughter and SIL.

SHIRLEY, glad Hunter was surprised and happy with his Christmas present. That's one lucky fella !

PAULA, so glad you're going to be with your sweetie tonight ! Have I missed news on your vehicle---are you still driving his car ?

JUDY, enjoy your Jordyn and puppy time ! How could you not ? ☺

JO, you've described the kind of Christmas I had with my local kids. We are truly blessed with generous and loving children.

LYNNE2, hope you're over the flimgudgeons of the flip and no longer feel discomfagaffagated !

MARGY, sounds like heading for Swinging Bridge after work is good for the soul ! That's the kind of stress reliever we should all take advantage and often.

LORI and SHAR, thanks for the eagle n' eagle tails report. Wahoo !

JERRY, read up on Rat Terriers like your Bella. Malcolm has a similar look in some ways, but he's about ten pounds heavier than the norm for RT's and he's not overweight. His coloring isn't mentioned as possible for RT's either. He is no doubt a mix of many breeds and one of those may be RT. It matters not--our rescue pets are lucky to have us and we are even more lucky to have found them !!!

BBL no doubt !
