corny but lovable !

I was just taking a short break while trying to make the dough rise !

did you see, Lolly was finished everything but the "hand watering?"
when I get done the gardening tonight I am going to water my hands too !!
that's pretty corny also I guess

uh, my name is ynne, and my I love sunslowers because they grow really well when I water my hand, or when it stroms. LOL!

Lynne2 said...

Hoda is lost on the old thread so I am bringing this over....

Hoda has left a new comment on the post "Thursday":

Well we had storms here last night too...or as LYNNE thinks Stroms are even stronger, well then we had stroms...the lightning followed by rumbling thunder woke me up only an hour and a half in my sleep and that was it for the night!!! We lost power early morning and it just came back on again. It stopped long enough for me to go out and bail the Dragon Boat and sure enough we went out for our practice...it was good and it is shutting in again now!!!

I will need a nap before I go to the Bank and get some of Uncle Sam's Bills.

GLO I agree with you there is a lot of work to be done in the USA but I continue to see the ingenuity and the creativity and the strength in all of the stories I hear here, your daughter is an example of that, and healing will happen and the country will move forward because its people are resilient...God Bless you all.

Judie said...

Well, I was NOT in the nest last night and we also had a strom. I think Magpieroni was hydrating with "happy water."

I see we have a new flower for Megan to grow: Ynne Sunflowers.

Like Lynne's sunflower avatar.

Errands done. Audrey and Grace are happy that their pantry is filled.

Oh, forgot earlier to say I'm so glad JudyE and Janet had a nice visit together.

I don't think I know who Carol Rick is but HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

What a great treat for Robyn and Tori to go to FL to visit Bobbi.

Going to play Mema Jo and put my feets up.

My poor friend Tracy, OMG....she and her fiance planted zillions of sunflowers in her FIL to be's field where he planted them every year. The were having an outdoor wedding, sunflowers was the theme. The wedding was in early Sept. The sunflowers, according to their calculations, should have been in perfect full bloom on wedding day. They bloomed early, and they had dead sunflowers on wedding day. Not to mention rain!!

Happy Saturday Afternoon! Instead of shoveling house, I had to go out and rescue flowers. The big storms yesterday left almost nothing & some were starting to wilt!Horror of horrors was that probably a squirrel jumped onto a lantana pot AND the tallest center sprig got bent in half! Dr.Loretta took out dressing tape and scissors and wrapped the branch. It was a little floppy, so braced it w/plastic stick. Might last awhile. Has several flowers and buds. Did that surgery on an azalea that got broken from those terrible Feb. snow storms a couple years ago. Grew fine until a month ago.Seems other sprigs are filling space.
Enough of horticulture, except I also like ynne's Sunslowers! LOL Margy!
Good to see JudyE and Janet got together!! And Hoda must be very excited!!The Patuxent Park will be having a raft reggata in awhile, and the Dragon Boat should enter!!LOL
Gotta do something, even if it's wrong!

KAY MOFFEtt IN PERSON
Dear, dear friends !

Finally feeling up to getting on line again. Have weeded my e-mail down from 657 to 315 so am making some progress and hope to work at the project for an hour or two a day now.

Thank you soooooo much for your prayers and all the sweet and cheerful cards ! No way to tell you how much your thoughtfulness has cheered me and wish I'd had the oomph to let you know before now. This surgery was much more complicated than expected and the rehab is going more slowly than anyone expected, but I'm on the road to complete recovery at last !

No doubt there are many prayer requests so until I learn what's up I'm just asking the Good Lord to bless all in need. Hope to get caught up soon and think of you and our precious Eagle family every day !

Love and good wishes, Kay

oh...good thinking Jo! Thanks!

Loweeda....my milkweed, which are currently hosting several baby monarch caterpillars, really took a tumble yesterday in the wind. Have to stake them back up when the sun goes down a bit. Those suckers are 6ft tall this year!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Love seeing Kay's name in an email! God is good all the time!

Judie said...

Good grief! Loretta has found yet another new bit of flora -- sunslowers. Megan's gonna go wild.

Milkweed not doing well here. No eggs and lots of wilting. Oh well, butterfly bush is huge.

Judie said...

Yippee and Hooray and more Yippee!

Saw Kay's email and see Jo brought it over here. What a wonderful day this is. So very happy she feels better.

Lynne2 said...

wow, Princess Judie (as you are now that you've been spotted at the Royal Nest) wonder why your milkweed isn't doing so well? Hmmmm....

LOOOOWREEEEEDAAAAA!! Osprey cam is offline...??

Costume Lady said...

Hello...
Ynne, my milkweed (planted from seed gathered at NCTC) Is also, nearly 6ft tall, but, alas...no monarch caterpillars or eggs:( Have not seen monarchs at all! My milkweed are planted in a corner of my garden near a dogwood tree and I'm thinking they will never be found because they are so secluded!
My garden is producing some veggies-to-be. Green beans are 2" long, cucumbers are 4" long, squash are looking good but zucchinis are only about an inch long (they grow very fast if the temps and water are just right) Banana peppers are ready to pick, green, yellow and red peppers are about 2" long. Straw is placed throughout the garden to keep the weeds down and the dirt from splashing up on the lettuce and green beans. (lettuce is ready to eat)

GG was not any better today. Just wanted to stay in bed. I had to make her get up...baited her with a cup of coffee (she hasn't had coffee for maybe a week). She came to the kitchen table and drank all of her coffee, with PLENTY of cream in it. Ate 3 bites of egg and some toast. Later, I took her outside to sit on her porch/deck. It was a struggle to get her there, but when she finally settled down, she said, "Oh this is lovely!" We sat out there for about an hour and a half. She drank half an orange soda and two bites of an egg roll. I know that is not nearly enough food, so, I think it is time for BABY FOOD once again:(
A lady stopped by to tell us that a calf was out on the road and they almost hit it, so I went in and called Dr. Towsend (owner of calf) and he said on his message that he wouldn't be back til Monday, so I called 911. Townsend must have gotten my message and called 911 to cancel that emergency. He caught the calf and put it back into the field. He told Gene that he was so tired of that little critter getting into trouble that he could roast him for the 4th of July!;)
Some of the neighbors came up to talk about the incident, but GG didn't recognize any of them~
Frankly, I think DEPRESSION is the main problem...we shall see what her Gerontologist says~

Lynne2 said...

oh Wanda....(((HUGS))). I can't imagine how worrisome and heartbreaking GG's condition must be for you. Thank God she has YOU! Hopefully the Dr will shed some good light on things next week!

BTW...I have only seen 2 monarchs all season so far, one way out in the field and a male on the milkweed. But the must be around!

Hoda said...

Yes indeed I was lost on the old thread and could not figure out where you all were so I went and had a nap...more like a three hour sleep...am having a cup fo tea now.

JO and LYNNE thank you for looking after me and bringing my posts over...HUGS

Funny to read about watering our hands!!! Hand watring...

WANDA Thank you for posting about GG...I am glad she ate some and that you are now thinking baby food. Prayers for the doctor's appointment...

Sorry SHIRLEY about the mouse...I will give a miss to the eel in my wine. I like dry red wine and I do not think eel will help there...depends on the grape and the season it was bottled I understand...weather conditions have a lot to do with it too..

Tried to get the video of the bears to play, but no luck.

They said on the news that if Debby does get to TX the rain will all be to the south of us. Oh, well....as long as somebody gets rain. Do not want wind and damage!!

Laurel was happy. She made $200 on a garage sale that she did not plan to have, did not advertise, did not prepare and best of all did not ask her mom to help. LOL

Calling it quits. Night all!

SED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Judie said...

Wow, nothing like a soused eel!

The bears were about two years old and thought to be having a territorial tussle. Separated on their own and went their way.

Grace was very good about her collar but she clearly did not like wearing it. We are also very lucky that these two, unlike all the others before, have zero interest in human food. Shirley, hope Max heals quickly.

Hi, Everyone,
Getting here late again tonight.
Fell asleep in front of the TV with Emma again!

Ken is doing a little better today. His elbow gets to feeling better, then he forgets to be careful of it (it's his right elbow, and he's right-handed), and it starts hurting again. Still, it's quite a bit better than it was on Thursday. One day at a time!

Really glad to hear from ♥Kay!!
Glad you're making progress, and will eventually be totally pain free! Prayers for you continue!

Getting SOOO excited for Hoda! Won't be long now!

Gosh, had an unexpected visitor on our patio this morning--one of our Cooper's Hawks! Got a couple of pictures, and will try to download into the computer tomorrow and share.

Good news--today all the young herons managed to stay in the nest!

Well, very tired tonight, so going to hit the hay. Prayers have been said for everyone (especially GG and Kay, and all those who need healing) and every creature. The porch light is on, and both security systems are enabled. Sleep well, everyone. God bless, and goodnight. Love all of you!

When I get better with my phone I should be able to post more. Can't see the cam real well on phone when it is on-line. Hope everthing and everyone is well. I didn't read back much. Hoping to get out fishing today...haven't been out for a while now. Take care and enjoy the rst of the weekend. Oh...when the young eagles get more independent will they be forced to leave the territory or are they free to do as they please. Just curious as to how the parents react to them once they can fend for themselves.

Good morning,

Hi Jerry, it is my understanding that the young eagles will leave the immediate area when they can fend for themselves. I don't know if anyone really knows all of the details on this, though. We are still learning. I suppose tagging them would help, but these eagles will not be tagged, of course.

Hope Michael and the church group are doing well, not too many hammer-banged up fingers or splinters from the work they are doing there

Things are looking up. My Dad brought my Mom down and they arrived about two hours ago. She's out on the deck reading now. When she is here is about the only time you see her sit down & relax. :)
Dad is driving back home to see nephew Brandon's All Star baseball game.

Thank you so much for thinking of me, my wonderful eagle family. I love you all so dearly. (((BIG HUGs for EVERYONE!)))

HEY PAULA Do you think Steve could give Walker Ford some info on starting up a cam They said any help would help

Mema Jo said...

I have returned from my Sun Afternoon
TV Movie! Exceptionally good! (Except for the darn commercials) I picked up one of my books and read during them.

Lori - Very happy your mom is with you! It is doing her some good just as it is doing you some good! It's a win-win situation.

Lolly - I guess if you can 'sit through it' it wasn't too bad - or was it bad enough to make you freeze in your tracks? ♥

Mema Jo said...

You might tell Walker Ford to contact Lisa at Blackwater.

JudyEddy said...

BLACKWATER is not a live feed its a still cam isn't it????

JudyEddy said...

Well I think I am heading back to work sooner that I should before it gets worse than it is now radar looks yuky

Took the kids out for a ride on the boat and they got some tubing time in. Bird count on the water:
3 osprey pairs, and a couple of osprey chicks,
a flock of Canadian geese,
2 great blue herons,
2 snowy egrets,
1 be-u-tee-ful cormorant sitting on a piling with his wings opened to dry,
several male mallards,
lots of sea gulls & terns,
but ...
(as Sharon likes to say)
no partridge in a pear tree!

Looking like rain now - hoping it blows over so I can take the kids to hit some tennis balls after dinner.

Hoda said...

Enjoy I am off for a while to see what I can get done...
Enjoy

Mema Jo said...

Sandi - sounds as though the boat ride
was made worthwhile with all the bird
sightings.

Dinner is ready - hamburgers, corn on the cob and watermelon. The corn this year is soooooooo delicious!

Kay update

Please tell our Eagle Buds that I'm inching along, but making daily progress. Hoping to be home in about a week. I may not get on the blog daily til' then because the emphasis here must be rehabiliation and the therapies leave me exhausted. Calls are welcome, too and I will answer if able.
Lots of hugs and much love, Kay

Keep on posting as the conditions where you live are not too safe and it is calming to read you are alright through your posts.
Glad you did not eat the fish from the road...not safe I would rather think...olive oil is much healthier for you than engine oil I would rather think.LOL

stronghunter said...

Oh my, Alex Trebek has had a mild heart attack. They say he should be fine, though.

Been thinking of you today, Judy. You seem to have things well planned out, though. You have probably had plenty of experience with hurricanes.

stronghunter said...

That is one big storm, Judy.

Lolly said...

Judy is getting all the rain. No fair! She should share!!

Tell you what, Judy....I'll trade you one teeny earthquake for a few inches of rain. Deal?

Have been watching the ball game. Rangers won! Jack passed me a book. Thought I would like it, but it is starting slow. We went out when the temp dropped to 89 and walked around. Found a bird egg on the ground. Could not see a nest, so added the egg to my bird nest on the front porch.

Lolly said...

Oh, I see a split coming. WATCH OUT!

Added a picture on fb of the earthquake damage. LOL It's a joke!

Lolly said...

Hopefully we get our car tomorrow! I am oh, so ready!
