Good TH, Sunny AM to Eagle Buds!!

Was busy & tired yesterday PM, so didn't get on here.
Only "nature" excitement yesterday at Chelsea farm office is that we saw group of deer in front field earlier in the day AND up the field was our favorite, Ms Hoppy!!! Haven't seen many for awhile. So glad she is OK & she did look a little rotund!

I didn't want to fess up, but I took 2 tumbles recently. I thought one in 2011 would be the last, but NO.Was in rec room carrying VCR closer to TV so that perhaps techie SIL could install. A suitcase was laying flat on floor behind pool table & I splatted down & right knee (the used to be better one)hit the floor.Brace on again. After New Year, was going to bed. Little kitty was in the middle, so thought I'd lay down sideways on my end. Misjudged & fell on the floor--banged head on nightstand!Scared Scooter and she jumped across Frank's face & cut his lip!
Wore my "Fall Risk" wrist band from hosp.to work yesterday!
This has got to end!

SHARON, thanks for sharing. Mega prayers Right Now for Tori and Robyn !

I've got lots to do around the house today, so think I'll get busy. Emma's long winter's nap yesterday put me behind schedule!
She's much more frisky today, by the way. Guess the nap did her good!
HAGD, everyone, and I will see you when I check in later today. :o]

LORETTA, how awful it is that you've had those falls ! The latter incident which includes a cut lip for Frank is like something we'd see in a situation comedy, but it ain't funny McGee ! I always enjoy reading about the beautiful sights you see Chelsea !

hedgie said...

Thanks, Sharon, for posting Tori's update. Poor kid. Hope they can get her regulated. ANd hope that Robyn gets over her cold quickly so she can be by her girl. Prayers for them both.

OF COURSE, there was a nother snafu! They FORGOT about me until nearly 12:30.....so I was late again today. Also had to see the rad doc---another sub---who was totally amazed at me........surviving the lung CA, ctching this one early before any symptoms, no jaundice or significant weight loss, not looking haggard, etc. She was very nice!

Oh, no, Loretta----once is too many times, but you did it twice??? Please be careful!!! Fall Risk bracelet from having to go to the hospital with this fall...or from something in the past??? Going to start putting hexes on the fallers!!!!!

hedgie said...

I believe that we HAVE seen two or three HP's in a visit before. But, of course, THAT was Lib---he was a pro!

Hi, Joyce! Good to see you.

Meet Andy---Ms. Bookwork---she's your neighbor in Anaheim.

Andy, not at all unusual for the dog to zonk out after injections! Sometimes they can be very sore, too, and need aspirin to ease the discomfort (probably the smaller dogs!). Glad Emma has been her usualy self today!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Love the new rad doc and what she said! How encouraging! (((HUGS)))

Just got home from work and the Dollar Store - had to buy 20 boxes of tissues for the 100 kids on my hallway. Parents didn't send many boxes in at the beginning of the year and we have completely exhausted our supply already! This morning, a student came to me for a box for a teacher's classroom (my office is where we keep the supplies) and I told the student to tell the teacher the kids will have to use their sleeves for their runny noses! You can imagine how well that went over with an 8th grader!! Anyway, just watched the video of today's much-celebrated event! Thanks Judy, for being so alert and catching it on film!!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I decided not to repost Casey Anthony's video because I don't think she deserves the attention from it.

stronghunter said...

"Fall risk" bracelet--maybe several of us need one.

Oh my goodness, Loretta. Be careful.

hedgie said...

It's getting nigh onto time for another nest visit......here Eagles, Eagles, Eagles!

Wow, Sandi, that's a LOT of tissues!!! Snotty-nosed kids, huh?

hedgie said...

I am not SURE, but I think I saw Mason today!! Private Ambulance service was bringing him to the Wellness Center....there was an older woman with them but I don't remember what Sylvia looks like.

NCSuzan said...

LOL! I have to laugh at the baby in the family. Again my faul for not wording the sentence better. I am also surprised there has been no repercussion about WVgalDana and I hanging ourselves in our respective closets!

Kay, am so very sorry the cortisone shot did not work for you. Having just had the same shot in each shoulder I can empathize with your pain. Funny, one shoulder is very good and one shoulder hurts. Cortisone and joints can be strange bedfellows.

I think often of Tori. What she must be going through. I hope someone who is an organ donor will be able to match up with her and give her some relief. Wow. Someone dies so someone lives. It is quite unreal, isn't it.

Lolly, happy you are not too beat up.

I have rambled enough. Where are those eagles?

JudyEddy said...

A EAGLE HAS ARRIVED IN THE NEST

Sandi said...

Lynn, I know it sounds like a lot but 3000 Kleenexes divided by 100 kids = 30 per kid, divided by 5 full months of school left = 6 tissues per kid per month. We'll be lucky to make it until June with the supply I bought!! I'm tempted to charge the kids a penny a tissue so I could use the money to buy more if we need to!! =) The PTA at my last school gave each teacher money each year for supplies. This school doesn't so, when the parents don't send in tissues in September and we don't have any, the teachers either say, "Sorry, go to the bathroom and get toilet paper to blow your nose," which we hate to do b/c then they're missing class to go to the bathroom, or we buy the tissues with our own money. Today, I collected money from the other 4 teachers on the hallway and agreed to stop at the Dollar Store and buy as many boxes as I could with the money.

Suzan, they are also doing living donor lung transplants. An old beau's grandson had a double lung transplant from two living donors. He had cystic fibrosis....and lived 2 yrs. after the transplants--to age 13.

Kay, sometimes it takes a second or even a third injection for optimum relief. Hopefully, the PT will help a lot.

stronghunter said...

Night light came on just now.

Oh, Sandi, I know what you mean about the tissues. If you do not have a supply on hand, it is just another reason for them to ask to leave class. Same with band-aids. I have purchased lots of boxes of tissues.

I used to ask for them and got a good many, but as years passed, the number of boxes coming in got fewer and fewer. For awhile, teachers gave extra credit for bringing in things like that, but probably not a good idea. So, I bought lots of tissues.

Once I had a girl bring in one of those little purse sized packages. She said that her mother said to tell me that it was all I was getting. Sad attitude.

Sandi said...

OK, time to take care of dogs and dinner - later!

paula eagleholic said...

Hey Sandi, maybe you should snag a couple of rolls of TP for the runny noses...

paula eagleholic said...

Heading home, catch in a little while!

paula eagleholic said...

BWE now MT...think they were working on the duck some more.

stronghunter said...

I am willing to bet that Sandi has used TP in the classroom. I have. Sometimes a kid would snag a roll from the restroom, and that was fine with me.

But you know, they keep those rolls locked up. Now you know why.

I can also tell you that the TP at my school was so thin you could see through it. It would tear just because it was so thin it could not make the roll turn over.

I always worried when the kids would go to RR for tissues and then I would hear that the RR had been vandalized.

stronghunter said...

Time to fix dinner.

Hoda said...

OK another visit and thank you for the report.

LYNN I am sorry you were late again today and this is a complication...but very pleased with the rad doctor's comments...Good on you gal!!1

I am back for a short little bit before I head out again to go to the hospital for my mamogram...not looking foreward to that part but grateful that it is provided under Health Card and at no cost to me...

I am starved so will go get something to eat...

Kay said...

What luck. Just missed our dear eagles. :( Hope to see them tomorrow !

LYNN, what is wrong with that transporation group, how hard can it be to get it right ? ARRRRGGGGGHHHHH. So very happy with what the Rad Doc had to say. You are absolutely amazing--can't express how much I admire your grace and courage. Thanks for helping me along with this Bursitis thing---I will now assume there will be more injections. Hopefully the timing will work out right for some pain free days in April !!! ☺

Yikes, what did our teachers put in with in the pre-Kleenex era ? We now have them and anti-bacterial hand wash all over the house, in schoolrooms and in offices and businesses of all kinds. Kroger has wipes for use on the cart handles and I'm sure your grossery stores do, too. Another example of how good life is now compared to the over rated "good ol' days" !

Hoda said...

OH SANDI I remember about buying kleenex for my classroom. Parents here would not think of sending any to school...I lost it one time when a student spilt her bottle of water on her desk and proceeded to dry it off with two boxes of kleenex. I was livid and let her know that it was not acceptable. her mother phoned to yell at me...so I suggested she supply her daughter with tissue on a daily bases to clean her snot!!! Yes I used the word snot!!! So I understand the frustration of saying they will have to use their sleeves!!!You have to be a teacher to understand these moments and it does not happen often...I have not had to provide anyone with tissue to wipe their noses or their spilt water since I retired and it was one of the joys of retirment earlier on when I first left...

Kay said...

LYNN, interesting facts on lung transplants. For years I worked with a woman who had one lung, haveing lost one to illness many years prior. So it makes sense to me that a lung or partial lung can be donated by a live and healthy person. Can't wait til' we hear Tori is receiving her new lease on life !

Kay said...

SUZAN, thank you for sharing your thoughts on cortisone. I'll need to be more patient. Guess we're both in for some additional injections ! I feel your pain. ♥

Sandi said...

Paula, As Shirley said, the school toilet paper is horrible and the custodians keep it under lock and key. The paper towels are like sandpaper and not at all absorbent, so they could never be used for blowing noses! Texting is rampant despite the district's policy that all cell phones are to be turned off and kept in backpacks in lockers. The phones are so small and thin that the kids can easily hide them in their pockets and they just set them on vibrate so we don't hear them ring. Half the time they ask to go to the bathroom, it's to send or read a text so we don't like to give them extra opportunities to go.
Kay, sorry to hear that the cortisone shot hasn't given you the relief you hoped for but it sounds encouraging that some folks have noted that it may take more than one shot to get the full effect.
Andy, glad that Emma is feeling back to her old self today.
Lynn, what a PIA this transportation has become; they're supposed to be making this whole business easier on the patient, not more stressful!
Judy, your "We got HP!!!!" shout at the end of this morning's video made me laugh out loud - glad you didn't cover it up with music!! =)

Kay said...

SHIRLEY, SANDI, other teachers, do the schools have nurses on duty all the time ? If so, they should take care of band-aids, I think. I may be wrong, but have the impression there has always been a school nurse available to Seth in his K-11 years in the Columbus School System.

Kay said...

Time to think about dinner and then on to the news, Jeopardy and beyond. Hope The Mentalist is a new one tonight and that I can stay awake til' the very end of it ! If I don't make it back tonight or until after physical therapy tomorrow, please know I'm remembering all who need prayer. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

DanaMo said...

Lot's of tissue talk. I have plenty of supplies. Actually I received so much last year that I didn't ask for much this year. I ran out of space to store it. I have tissues, Clorox type wipes, baby wipes for hands, paper plates, paper towel, AND I have several parents that poke their heads in almost daily asking me if I need anything. I am very lucky.

Missed the visit, going to try to read up.

Kay sorry to hear you are in pain and it is getting worse. I hope your appointment tomorrow gives you some information.

Sorry Tori is not doing well. I hope her condition improves soon.

Not good to hear Loretta about your falls. Please be careful.YOu should be keeping that from us!!!! Is Lolly falling too? Ladies!!!

Judy I cracked up at the end of the video when you whooped!

Glad your doctors were pleased Lynn My dad went to his oncologist today and he basically said that he considers my dad "cured" when mom asked if they still needed to come every year he said he looks forward to seeing them, they are his favorites, and the next person he was going to be seeing isn't as lucky. When Mom said it was him (the doctor) and God that helped them celebrate 50 years the doctor said it was the other way around, God then him. His is so wonderful!!!

DanaMo said...

Loretta That should read that you SHOULD NOT be keeping that from us!!!

DanaMo said...

hmm...guess I chased everyone away! :(

hedgie said...

Antibacterial wipes are not what they are cracked up to be.....drs. say that they are preventing folks from building up resistance to the germs everywhere.....overkill, as with antiobiotic use!
School nurses??? Few and far between. A small handful that must float betwen schools here. Never one in the building all day the way it was when I was in school. Secretaries are now responsible for doling out a student's required meds......just palin wrong!

hedgie said...

Nope...sorry....no new CSI or Mentalist tonight. But Grey's and Private Practice are new.

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, how I hate thin toilet paper! What's the point?

paula eagleholic said...

I meant, what's the point of that thin tp...just about useless, you have to use more!

Did I tell ya'll I'm going to the beach this weekend! Can't wait!

paula eagleholic said...

So sorry that Robyn is sick and can't be there with Tori, that must be hard. Hope the picu can get her feeling better!

Oh my, no falls! Sorry to hear about those, Lowreeda!

paula eagleholic said...

Kay, hope the PT and next couple of shots help with the hip!

Candy and Suzan, so nice to see you! And Joyce, too!

paula eagleholic said...

Oh Lynn, I agree with the overuse of the wipes and such...I've never used them or the hand sanitizer.

Sandi said...

We do have a full time nurse so she will give teachers a supply of Bandaids to keep in their desks. When I taught elementary school, I always got plenty of tissues from parents but middle school seems to be different. Hooray for new Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice!! Private Practice gets recorded and I watch it on Fridays when I get home from school since I can never awake til 11pm. Is Blue Bloods new tomorrow night?? I'm sure this group will know - I remember that, when I joined the blog in November, there were more old Tom Selleck avatars than you could shake a stick at!! Sharon also seems to have a major crush on David Beckham based on recent FB posts!! He IS pretty hot in those underwear photos, Sharon!!

Hoda said...

Back from the mamogram!!1 It was all rather simple really and life is fine. They will send me a report in three weeks and that is that for the next two years I hope.

NO MORE FALLING please from anyone...

Yes PAULA, you are going to stay with a friend, and then go check on your house and will stop at Blackwater on the way back is what I think your weekend experience is going to be...ENJOY and I hope all is indeed well at Paradise...is NICK going too?

stronghunter said...

Yeah--texting. Maybe to someone in your classroom or in another classroom. Maybe with an answer to a test question?

Band-aids--At first, I was buying a box so I could hand them out, so I did not have to send someone with a small scratch to the nurse. Eventually, the nurses started supplying them to all teachers. They don't want a parade through the clinic, either.

An irony--The school would sent out messages about meetings, etc., to everyone on the call list. That included students. So, someone's cell phone might be vibrating and they would tell me that they needed to answer it because it was the school calling. Cell phones have truly changed the way things work.

Danamo--Yes, something happens between elementary school and middle school. And, I am sure that the private school is different as well.

We send all kinds of things to school for Hunter. Long lists are provided in all of the stores at the end of summer. But by the time kids are in high school, things change. I guess the money goes to expensive calculators, etc.

hedgie said...

Yes, Sandi....new Blue Bloods tomorrow evening. WhooHoo---date night here!!!

Sandi said...

Paula, Highs in the mid 50s with westerly winds in Bethany on Saturday. Only in the 40s on Sunday but sunny both days! Enjoy!! OK, school work beckons! Have a good evening all!

stronghunter said...

We always had a school nurse for each building at Culpeper.

When I was growing up, I do not recall ever having a nurse at school. Nor do I remember bringing tissues for the teachers. I think everyone just brought their own.

paula eagleholic said...

Hoda, yes Nick is going...He will realize it tomorrow night!

wvgal_dana said...

Thanks for all the comments on the visit of Belle and Shep.

When I turned on the computer I went straight to JudyE's site. To see if anything changed where I could see all the video. I GOT TO SEE HP !!!!!!!!! I know this is late coming and you all already seen it but what I watched did not show it this morning. Good going on that video JudyE!!!!!

DanaMo so happy for your Dad and Mother and all the family.

Lynn sorry they called you late again. Why do they do that? I don't understand. Can you please explain it to me? Very very HAPPY for what the radiation doctor said (:

Loretta you have to stop this falling around. Might there be some reason causing it other than a suitcase on the floor? Have you had any headaches or been dizzy lately?

Kay sorry the injection did not last long. Maybe he will try another in a different area.

Praying for Tori as they put her in ICU trying to lower her co2 level. Prayers for Robyn since she is sick and can't be there for support for Tori. God please help this young girl. She has had such a rough time in her young life already. Please get her better and please Lord give her that new lung and allows her body to accept it. Amen.

I had a friend that only had one lung. He lived to be in his 60's. It wasn't any lung problem he drank too much.

I think that is terrible about the tissues in the schools!!!! Parent should have enough "smarts/brains" to supply their kid with tissues!!!!! Parents depending on the schools to supply them to me is just WRONT in my opinion.

Old insurance company was not happy when I called them and told them as of today I had new Insurance Company for car and house. They said, "Well we have a company that could have insured you." I said, "In your letter plus when I called you all said you did not." I like this one on the house it does not depreciate!!!
