STRONGHUNTER: this is our third season of bowling. its not been without its growing pains....however, it is an evening of fun. my current goal is to have 3 scores above 100. most nights i can get it or at least very close to it. sometimes i do REALLY well, like a 140 or so, but most nights, 100 to about a 120...but sometimes like i had a 99 for the 3rd game tonight. we beat the time that we were bowling. but we had a handicap of 154. they were not pleased with that...and we squeaked by all three games, like 20 pin or less each time. but we won. out of 14 teams we are currently in 11th, but have been as high as tenth. our season is 26 weeks and we are in week 18.
regarding the weather: i too hope it stays calm. the way our house is built, the upstairs and the downstairs are completely separate, so to go to the basement we have to run out the front door, around the house and into the basement at the back of the house ....thankfully our local weather station has something called weather call...they call you if the weather is going to be severe for your specific location . costs me about ten bucks a year and worth every penny to me....i can sleep knowing that they will call...granted, i don't usually sleep thru weather that i know has a potential to be severe...i am up and checking things....and the dogs are trying to gather and hide under my skin...lol....but i have extreme respect for tornados. i remember back in 1974 when they ripped thru ohio and kentucky....
well folks, its nighty night time...gonna catch a weather update and turn in.
News time.....then I will stoke up the fire and hit the hay. Hope everyone stays warm and safe. Sweet dreams. Prayers for all. Goodnight, dear friends,
KARLA...I mean 'SWEET PEA' will be my advocate on Wednesday. She will be with her daddy while I'm indisposed and will let you all know when my surgery is done and that I am running up and down the hallways;)
Karla - Well that feeling is certainly mutual with your Mom. You have a beautiful family from GG all the way down to little Jayden.....and everyone in between.
It was nice chatting with you and I look forward to seeing you again soon!!
I'm sorry Sweet Pea......somehow I had thought your sister had had the Jeep... but then I remembered after I posted...that it was YOU, I think it's called short-term memory loss
It's hard Linda, but I have put this off for so many years and I am looking forward to not dealing with it all anymore. I am feeling better and want to get back to normal, but I am being good until my next appt on the 30th.
We had a fire call this evening and I did go in to cook food for everyone on their return to the station. Made me feel good to be a part of the action.
I do not know Sweet Pea what channel American Idol is on...glad to meet you because I am looking forward to your telling us that your Mom is well after her surgery on Wednesday...Thanks for doing that...
Greetings all. Wanted to check in before the day disappears.
Being Sunday it's football for me. Both teams I wanted to win did and these same teams will meet again at the superbowl. Saw them meet a few years back and the Giants won. Don't know what will happen this year but once it's over football is over for another season and withdrawal will set in for me.
Happy to hear Jewel had her cubs and look forward to seeing more of them. Remember getting so attached to Hope and Faith and expect this time will be the same.
Soon I'll be able to spend more time on here and keep up with everyone's life. Until then I'll be praying for those in need.
Back to watching Idol and then let the sandman in for his nightly visit.
Another tray of slides complete. Ran into a lot that had faded. Hmmm??? Glad I am getting them saved now.
Hi Karla! We really do appreciate your joining us and keeping us updated on your mom. Glad you are doing well. It will take a while to recover, but then you will feel fantastic! Had my surgery in my 40's.
Yuck, the Giants won. Well, Joey and Joseph will be happy, but intolerable to be around. Not Joseph....just Joey. LOL
There are some really talented contestants on IDOL this season...looks to be an interesting and fun show, once again!
It was a nice surprise to have Karla join us for a while, this evening. Can't believe she actually cooked for the Fire Dept...shouldn't be on her feet that long. She said it made her feel good to be a part of something again, so I guess that is important.
I'm off to bed, sandman slipped and slid out front, but finally made it inside with his sleepy sprinkles;)
GOOD NIGHT DEAR FRIENDS SLEEP WELL PRAYERS FOR ALL
Good morning. Waiting to hear if we are delayed. Many schools are, but Washington County kids are off today, so we private schools have to make our own call! Not sure when the principal will do that or if she will call the delay. She may wait to see what the Catholic HS does...so I wait. And hope.
Wow, finally finished skimming back thru last night's posts - talkative bunch we were this weekend! Glad to hear that Karla will be keeping us up to date on Wanda's happenings! Didn't have time to read my FB or the news but it's time to get myself ready for the day - congrats on the delay DMo. Have a good one - will check in from school.
Sorry you had a rough night Diann. I hope your paper comes soon. We must have gotten a new carrier. Our carrier always put our paper in the under the mailbox holder, now all of a sudden it's just thrown in the driveway. I'm thinking we need to call in about that! I hate a wet paper!

she said on Sat when she gets home she will pop in the blog
HEY can't Steve talke with the OC because any one looking at the nest will read that forum and not know the real name no one really knows about us at all They go to the nest they assume that is all there is the forum ?????? just asking ok now to start at last nites comments

How does the delay system work DANAMO...howmany hours delay do you have? How does it fit with school buses and kids being picked up for school? What if parents have to go to work and there is a delay at school but not at work, what do they do then? We never had that...always a cancellation but never a delay on SEVERE weather days...we have to have lost power and or water pipes are frozen...neither happened very often...never fozen pipes but at times power off...if we were already in school by the time the power went off we had to find out for how long it 2will be off from the company before we sent them home...it had to be two hours before they would let us dismiss...I di dnot like that part...emergency light only in the classroom and thirty kids sitting in a classroom is no fun for two hours!!!

Will be a busy day for me. Lunch with two people from Webster University. I'm not really interested but might as well hear what they have to offer. Then need to finish up prep for tomorrow.
MT nest, Jordan babes snuggled underneath, Jewel and cubs sleeping, Honey and Lucky sleeping.
I just thought of something...how is KARLA going to get on the blog from the hospital? Duh! Maybe Gene can bring his lap top...I hate to pile him up with so many things to take for me. I have a large bag full of magazines, crossword puzzle books, a Nicholas Sparks book. Plan on catching up on my reading~
Wanda they had that knee machine on me. That was doing the exercise. When I told them I wanted to not use bed pan. That I wanted to use my bathroom they were alittle worried. Slowly they seen I could do it. I told them to watch me and see if I put my knee back in machine right. I did so they said I could use the bathroom anytime I wanted and put my knee back in machine. They did not do exercises at the hospital.
I was pretty much in and out. Mostly out of it for 2 days of the 3 day stay. Didn't even know Mother had visited me on the 1st or 2nd day.
I got out on a Friday and started my rehab on Monday. I would start rehab the very next day if you can so your knee does not stiffen up. Because you don't take that machine home with you and I had the weekend was doing exerises they told me do it but it wasn't enough to keep knee from stiffening up. If I would have gotten out on a different day I would have started rehab very NEXT day.
For rehab you are on pain mediction but I could not take any.
I met with some therapists when I had my pre-op tests and they all (3) told me I would be seeing a lot of them and would get tired of having them bother me:) No way! I WANT TO EXERCISE this knee and walk normally again. I am so excited, thinking of walking like everyone else again! It's been sooo long!!
JudyE---PLEASE don't worry about the globe! There are thousands worldwide who access the cam through that page that never join the blog......there is no way to know who they all are!!!
WOW---Hoda is up in the middle of her night again!! And Geula is heading for aftenoon tea time!
Hoda--how very neat that you Skyped with your old pal! You are so tech savvy!!!
Sure hope that bad weather in AL didn't affect Red or my cousin Jeannie. Fingers crossed. Their area had too much danger last spring.
Wanda you will be getting pain medicine anyhow. So you will be ok doing the Physical Therapy.
I walked on mine to and from my bathroom. We used a walker I had taken to the hosptial (had my name taped on it). I do remember nurses taking me out into the hallway also.
Wanda I did the Physical Therapy without any pain medications. Most people yes do get pain medication while taking Physical Therapy. I just can't take anything. Makes me sick and wacky where I can't do anything.
You will do good lady (:
I did like the knee machine cause while you a sleeping at night or because of the pain medication/and anesthesia. The knee machine exercises the knee like in Physical Therapy.
Thanks, Dana. I know I will be just fine as long as they give me some pain meds before I walk. Knowing that the pain you are feeling is NORMAL is a big help. When I had my Gall Bladder and Hysterectomy ops., I hurt so bad when I walked that I was afraid I was harming myself inside and they didn't realize it! They just didn't tell me It was NORMAL to feel like a scalpel was left inside me:)
Oh, yes, I was so happy for Jillian and Aaron, both. They work long, hard hours and their awards were well deserved! Jillian ran 408 ambulance calls, last year and Aaron ran 421...lot of calls for a small town like Berryville.
Jewel's the bear moves her head pointing out towards the cam. Those cubs sure are making their sounds. I think they just found the milk tab. Much quiter. lol
Actually, 214 of Aaron's runs were on the fire truck. He is a firefighter and an EMT. His award was for Firefighter of the Year. I had no idea Jillian and he were going to get awards...we were invited to their banquet and Jillian said she wanted us to take a tour of the fire dept. and that was the reason for the invite. Nice surprise:)

Well You all won't believe what I just finished doing!!! A friend of mine from College, actually the FIRST Canadian I every met, her father was Cultural Attaché of the Canadian embassy in Cairo, her name is Sherri...well Sherri and I spent the last hour talking on Skype!!! She is in Islamabad Pakistan, she sent a skype friend notice this morning and she is thirteen hours ahead so it is already morning there...She works for CIDA which is a Canadian Government Agency dealing with Canadian foreign aid...It was just like we were in college and we chatted and had tea and it was a perfect connection...she is interested in a man who lives in Australia and he is divorced but we decided he is still dealing with emotional issues from his marriage...we talked about our teen years and people we used to know, we talked of her children and when she would retire...it was a GREAT conversation. I AM SO VERY BLESSED in my friends.

How are you feeling Diann?
Still no paper. Supposed to be here around 6 am.
While I'm waiting, what time do our royal couple appear in the morning?
Which will come first? Newpaper or eagles?

Pain seems to be under control for now but can break through at any moment.
Aha! paper is here and bed is near.

Question: what's the difference between blog time and nest time. if there is any...
Not sure Geula what are looking at? The time on the blog should be your time zone.
There's a running "clock" on the cam that shows how long you have had the came open and playing.
Oh I see on the OC they are calling Shep, Ben. Oh well guess they can call him whatever they want.
I guess I am behind the time on that knowledge, but I try not to bother reading what they post. It just ruffles my feathers! LOL!
The fog is making the nest pic look all blurry.
Quick good morning: *Yawn* didn't get to bed til 2....tornado warnings. thankfully all is well. coffee!!!!

Good Morning Geula, Lori, Sandi, Diann, Janet, JudyE, Wanda, Hoda, Thelma, Judie, and our Eagles that visited the nest.
I hear rain hitting the house. So snow should all go away today.
Neat that Karla "Sweet Pea" was on last night. Sorry I did not get to talk with her. Glad to know she will be letting us know about Wanda's surgery.
Hoda you are so funny; "leaving cause you are not showing up on the globe"lol
BABIES...imitating dad's sneeze, is adorable. They seem awfully young to be doing that:)
JudyE I have added Cathy G. to my prayer list. I pray they find out why she is sick and are able to help her.
Janet so happy tornado did not come.
Schools here must be late or out.
Oh yes and thank you all for the comments on this mornings nest visit from Belle and Shep.
DANA, do you remember how often they make you exercise at the hospital...do they give you paid meds beforehand?
Wanda they had that knee machine on me. That was doing the exercise. When I told them I wanted to not use bed pan. That I wanted to use my bathroom they were alittle worried. Slowly they seen I could do it. I told them to watch me and see if I put my knee back in machine right. I did so they said I could use the bathroom anytime I wanted and put my knee back in machine. Because you don't take that machine home with you and I had the weekend was doing exerises they told me do it but it wasn't enough to keep knee from stiffening up. If I would have gotten out on a different day I would have started rehab very NEXT day.
For rehab you are on pain mediction but I could not take any.
Good Morning!
Wanda, if Karla has a smart phone she will be able to post to the blog or she can text someone who can update us on the blog.
Cute cubbie noises!!!
Oh---Good Monday morning!
Oh, LINDA, I'll bet you are right...never thought of that. I'll have to ask her if she pops on here today!
Wanda you will be getting pain medicine anyhow. So you will be ok doing the Physical Therapy.
I walked on mine to and from my bathroom. We used a walker I had taken to the hosptial (had my name taped on it). I do remember nurses taking me out into the hallway also.
You will be ok and you will do good. (:
Lynn, didn't know about Alabama having bad weather. RED...come on and let us know if you all are unscathed by the storms.
Deck is very slick. And only the Hagerstown paper was there.
Charlie took Carolyn to work...she said the roads were slick in places, but mostly okay.
I loved that knee machine!!!
Wanda again it was super the award that Jillian and her boyfriend got.
Love their picture (:
Much quiter. lol
Too noisy had to turn sound off. Will watch Jewel's the bear as she moves. Trying to see those cubs which will be hard to do.
This blog is going to burst lol
Does anyone remember the town in Alabama that Red lives in???
Actually, 214 of Aaron's runs were on the fire truck. He is a firefighter and an EMT. His award was for Firefighter of the Year.
I had no idea Jillian and he were going to get awards...we were invited to their banquet and Jillian said she wanted us to take a tour of the fire dept. and that was the reason for the invite.
Nice surprise:)
Judie...Webster Univ.....???? In St. Louis? Are they head-hunting you???!!!
STEVE must be out of town, again.
I have work to do...outta here!
Red is in Huntsville. My cuz is in Double Spring.
JudyE mentioned the bad AL weather earlier.
