LYNN from what I can gather they do not want to specify the exact date when all the troops will be pulled into Kuwait. All they did today is close the Headquarters of the American Operations in Iraq. The weather there is unpredictable...sand storms and such. They want to give air cover to the convoys on their way out...Talk in the region that Iran is flexing their muscles and The USA troops want this to be as peaceful an ending as they could possibly manage. There are American Basis in Kuwait so the remaining troops in Iraq are not really all that vulnerable and the sixth fleet is not far from the area either...based in the Mediterranean Sea. The remaining troops are safe for the duration I feel certain...God Bless them all.

Just got off the phone with Debbie and Buddy, he has the protate and kidney cancer. He had his surgery on Monday at Hershey...all went well, they think it is all frozen and will be gone soon. They go in with a little camera and wire and freeze the cancerous tumor. Made an incision about an inch. He went to work today, light duty! Now back to continuing treatment for the prostate cancer. Thanks for your prayers!

Laptop seems to be fixed. Bubby removed stuff, added stuff, updated stuff and all seems to be OK for now.
Update on gift card saga - besides g.card in balloon in balloon bouquet, other balloons will have confetti in them. Will have their hubbys (they are tall) hold balloons high over their head as they pop the balloons.
See need for additional prayers for various health needs.
Happy we are getting expected & unexpected eagle visits.

Squeezie, I am at the WHite Rock site and I see an eagle in the nest towards the edge but well in the nest calling out. The wide angle camera gives a good view of it and it seems to be OK... I do not know why it is calling out I do not see other birds around but it does not sound in distress to me...
Squeezie....looks like he/she is just sitting.....why? What do you see? Hard to see MUCH in the dark.
She IS calling out.....wants her dinner delivered, maybe?
Tail feathers missing, still crying out, in same position, they asked me to get help in what could be wrong.
It is an area dense with eagles and there could be an eagle out of the range of the wide angle camera and this one is simply saying this is its territory...last year there used to be eagles that did a dive bomb routine on the nest with incubating eggs and new born chicks...The screech sounded like distress then...what does it sound like to you???

Hoda, thanks for response. I was just thinking of the emotional aspect of getting those troops home to loved ones. Didn't realize that many were being re-deployed to Kuwait.
Wait a minute I just saw something fly off to the upper left part of the frame, it headed towards the Victoria airport.Call out has stopped.
Squeeie as to missing tail feathers on the WhiteRock eagle I do not see any missing, it is the angle and it is the way she is laying down...she just moved and is fine...again a question of claiming territory as its own is what I think.
Wide angled camera shows an eagle which just landed on a branch as the one in the nest moved...could be the reason it called out again

The posture tells me the moving eagle is encroaching on the space of the one in the nest... a spider just crawled on the wide angle lense...WHITE ROCK NEST
SQUEEZIE are you ale to see both the wide angled camera nad the close up camera? The eagle in the nest moved and is strong in its movement. WHITE ROCK NEST
WHITE ROCK wide angled camera shows an deagle which landed on the far away branch when the one in the nest spread its wings and went to the railing and resumed its call...
Looks like the adult in the nest is trying to tell the juvie in the tree to beat it!

I agree with you PAULA and juvie just took off when the adult turned around...NEST IS TAKEN is what I am hearing and seeing
She seems to be moving fine....I, too, think she's defending her territory.
What ever else is going on this eagle in the nest is healthy and aware and very sharp...nothing the matter with it.

This all is playing out across from Boundary Bay and it is on Pacific Standard Time. It is not really late at night. It is only 5:53 PM EST here with lots of electric light in the area...

I agree with you LYNN the WHITE ROCK nest seems smaller than our nest and last year with four of them in ther it was down right crowded...I think it is partly man made as I saw branches placed there that were man made designs.

Got some good Christmas shopping done today. A basketball goal for Hunter. I have a feeling that is going to guarantee an influx of boys to my yard. But I will know where Hunter is.
Kathryn came home with a larger skateboard ramp. I asked her if she is sure about Hunter's health insurance. I really think the basketball goal is a safer toy.
Kathryn will have to pick it up, though. I cannot get it into my car, and Walmart does not deliver.
I see that you all are watching an eagle somewhere.

Hi all! We are home. I posted a comment on the way home and it disappeared! So, I did not try it again. Typing on the phone is not easy for me.
The choir program was very good. I am impressed with the choir teacher and what she can do with these children. This next semester will be honors choir. That should be great as well.
So, we are already having drama in an eagle nest! It is strange to see an eagle lying down in the nest this time of the year.

Put lights and manger scene in picture window, hung stockings, wreath & decos on doors, etc. Yesterday went to Lowes and saw a really cute Norfolk pine. Thought that may be the REAL Xmas tree.As soon as it came in & was set on table, little Scooter wanted to taste the branches, so now it's on top the china cabinet w/vase of silk Xmas flowers & greens! Guess the artificial palm tree will have to go on a lower table. We always have water squirt bottle on hand for perps!I don't really like to squirt near elec. lights, tho!!
I am surprised there is action at the White Rock cam. Eagle called out a few minutes sago and is now sitting up and looking around intently.
LOLLY I just went back to the White Rock cam and the eagle is gone. It is a densily populated area for the eagle population. When I logged off from there it was resting comfortably in the nest...

The WR eagle stood up, did a little house keeping and then flew up into the tree. It did some calling out before that.

Hoda, I go to a Carol, who is a nurse practioner. She is in a doctors office. Many of my close friends go to her. We love her! First my friend, Annie, met her at aquatic excercise at the near by hospital. She told all of us how much she loved her and how good she is. One by one we have dropped our doctors and started seeing "Dr Carol". She is amazing!
I am about to lay me down to sleep.
Preparing food for our guests after the funeral is very tiring.

The antlers look very fragile, Lucy! (Carolyn Jewel's middle name is Lucille after my grandma---I sometimes like to call her Lucy! Jennifer also has it as her middle name! My Grams was my idol!!)
