Yep, Lori, 5 but they said to be there at 4:45. Think I'm going to try to leave around 3:15 and go get my lights ahead of time. Then afterwards I don't have to mess with much driving in the dark...just straight home with a pass through Burger King or maybe a stop at Subway, both of which are closer to home.

Lori O. said...

That sounds like a good plan, Lynn. I hate driving in the dark, especially with so many deer out at this time of year. Love BK and Subway!

Hey, we split and I found you!
Amazing for me!!!

I went to a bell choir performance last week--just beautiful. One of the performers is nearly blind...and she did a solo! They had a special light and music for her but the solo was from memory.

Now I really must get off this computer.

When I worked with Jay Thomas in Los Angeles, he got married and had a bell choir at his wedding. It was beautiful!

Hi Eagle Buds ! Have been on long enough to play catch up and to have the cam stop at the 15:14 mark--that's a new time ! Heard the same gun shot you mention LYNN, more distant that those of last week. Happy several of you were on board to report on Belle and Shep's visit this morning. I'd love to see some deer, too. I think they're pretty smart to congregate in the safer haven close to the Center !

LOL, LORI ! I have a mental picture of hunters waiting at the top of a hill with little worms hanging out of their mouths---with baited breath ! I often wait with bated breath for our eagles to appear !☺

LYNN, loved the "feel good" video. What a great Mama cat ! I've wondered if Malcolm was trained by a cat. He cleans himself life a cat does and he hates dirty feet. Not mine, his !

WANDA, a brother for Jayden--great news ! He can teach little bro a lot !

Kay said...

Bell Choirs, I love them ! One of the largest and best I've ever heard is the one at the Presbyterian Church my Michigan kids attend. Beautiful !

Kay said...

LORI, I think it's great that you worked with Jay Thomas ! I've always enjoyed him, but admired him even more when he did some "Expert" stints on Who Wants to be a Millionaire. He's brilliant !

Kay said...

DANAMO, good on Adam ! What a great bunch your "A" team is ! Good luck to AnneMarie as she takes that test today !

Kay said...

Whoa, close gunshot. Ouch !

Listening to Christmas music on a local FM station. Just heard a cute little kid interview. A little boy said, "The elves help Santa make toys...there's uh, uh, about a thousand of them."

Lori O. said...

Oh Kay, you caught me...bated, baited! LOL!

hedgie said...

Kay, we are Presby's, too!

Lynne1----kudos to the blind ringer!! We have a few who are quite elderly, but also some that are young teens. It's always sad at the spring concert when they say goodbye to the ones who will be leaving for college in the fall.

Jay Thomas is great, isn't he???

Bacon is in the pan.....

I think the wind is rattling the mike!!

Lori O. said...

I worked with Jay for 8 yrs. He really is brilliant in every way, and the same as you know him in regular, everyday life.

Good morning! Sitting here with wet hair and feeling cold. Guess I should go dry it! lol It is presently 39.

Have not heard gunshots since I have been on. Cool that some of you saw deer this morning.

Wanda, another little boys to spoil. Yea! I have had to admit that God knew what he was doing giving me grandsons. I would have sent Jubby to the poor house if we had had a granddaughter! And, I did pray for a grandson that looked like Michael and God did give me that!☺

Lolly said...

Thanks, Lynn, for that announcement. Went there, saw the new hatch, then saw a feeding. Fantastic timing!☺

GOOD MORNING LADIES...
Yes, another little boy, we will love him to pieces, but you know Karla and I wanted a girl. There hasn't been a girl born to this 'family' since Jillian, and she is 26 yrs. old! Well, we still have, possibly, grandchildren to come from Jillian, Brandon & Dustin, some day. One of them HAS to have a girl, right?

Lolly said...

I will certainly have to wait for great grands, but I will be too old by then to go shopping. lol

DanaMo yest it is paying off an "A" good for him!!!
Hoping that Annemarie does get some of that scholarship money.

Hoda I hope the person that took the bakery goods. Has a visit from God within himself.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAULA'S JOHN.

Wanda, you have email.

hedgie said...

I am afraid that we have lost contact with Geula!!! Here, Geula, Geula, Geula! Her new email address is not working. I sent her an email at the old one just in case it's still active, but no luck so far.

Lolly, you are so right about going to the poorhouse with a little girl to buy for. When Jillian was born, I was in the Antique selling business at a Flea Market near Winchester, Va. I set up every Sat. and Sun. and first thing in the morning, before the grounds were open to the public, I shopped for little girl things. I had the closet in the Nursery FILLED with dresses, pant outfits, jammies, nightgowns, robes, coats...all on tiny little hangers trimmed with nursery rhyme characters. Drawers were filled with little socks with roses and bows, shoes of all kinds. Toys and books, stuffed animals...oh, Lord have Mercy, I couldn't stop buying things. I stopped when she was about 14 yrs. old. Couldn't please her then, nothing was quite to her liking:)

Costume Lady said...

Oh, I failed to mention the cost of things that I bought at the Flea Market...$1.00 to $3.00 on clothes, toys, etc. 25¢ to 50¢!

hedgie said...

Danawv, did you know that Quincy Jones (music producer) and Peggy Lipton (Julie on Mod Squad!!!) have a daughter named Rashida???? Different spelling but same pronunciation. She's an actress, too.

Costume Lady said...

LYNN, sorry you will miss the Concert of the Bells, I know you were looking forward to it. Can you still catch some of it after you are done?

I will miss our Family Friday next week. My MRI is at 6:15pm, need to be there and 5:45pm :(

Fried egg and bacon sandwich down the hatch.....just in the nick of time!!

Wanda, my Mom and I went crazy buying sale items in FL for Jess when she was little......even at those good prices, she outgrew the stuff so fast that we wondered why we went so overboard!!!

Mema Jo said...

Good very late Morning! It surely is
freezing cold outside even with the sun shinning but the wind is blowing. Cats
only stayed a very short time.
I am listening to 97.1 station and the
delightful music is making me feel all
Christmasy.

Thankful you were able to eat, Lynn.
What's with the scheduling so late in
the day like the PET and the MRI. Are
they that busy? Sorry you'll miss the bell concert and hope you find something delicious to eat afterwards, Lynn.

HODA - do you think the thieves knew they were getting all those baked goodies?I guess they had their own party. Very sad for the baker!!

Mema Jo said...

Jayden will be at a good age to greet another little boy into his family! Of course other family members just need to spread the love around.. I think little ones don't understand about Mommie's big belly until their small hand feels a kick - then they are quite
surprised!

hedgie said...

Yep, Jo----they are that busy!! They squeezed me in!

hedgie said...

Hear that wind??? Same way here.

Kay said...

LYNN, thanks for the Phoebe report ! Will love watching the action there !

Costume Lady said...

Lynn, do you think I will have to have an injection before my MRI? I was wondering why I have to go a half hour before the actual scan. I have taken GG several times for the scan, but can't remember what they did beforehand. Not afraid of injections, just wondering.

Costume Lady said...

What, actually, is a PET scan?

Home for lunch and to read HEY DID you all hear that NX is at Wildlife being I was without puter I didn't know did you all

This is one of the things I have read
Ed Clark, WCV: Good afternoon everyone. We have the afternoon update on NX. As you have heard from Congo, we found a few more issues than could be detected without xrays. Here is the text of Dr. Dave's report:

December 3 examination

On the morning of Saturday, December 3, NX was anesthetized for radiographs and a physical examination. Dr. Dave found an open wound on the left wing [flushed and ...sutured]; a ruptured airsac; a left-eye injury; and soft-tissue swelling over the right wrist [although the bones and tendons seem fine].

Two additional areas of concern:

GI tract. NX regurgitated overnight; her crop was empty this morning. NX will be given some mice/small chunks of rat this evening to see if she will eat. Dr. Dave would like to take a look at NX’s GI tract within the next week, using the Center’s new endoscope.

Left shoulder. NX’s left shoulder looks slightly drooped, and there may be a slight decreased range of motion. Dr. Dave spotted what might be a small fracture on the head of the coracoid; additional radiographs [after shoulder swelling has subsided] may provide more insights. To be on the safe side, the Center vet team wrapped NX’s left wing in a body wrap.

Dr. Dave thinks these injuries are consistent with NX having been struck by a vehicle.

So, there you go. Nothing too shocking, actually. All of these injuries are relatively "normal" for a bird that has been hit by a car. She had been in the area where she was injured for about 24 hours, but we cannot know when during that period she actually sustained the injury...or even if there was more than one incident. We can only deal with what we do know, and that is as we have stated. It is far too soon to make a prognosis, but we remain optimistic.See More

When Ed had his PET Scan is was like an X-ray of the entire body. To see if cancer is any place else in body. Lynn can probably explain better.

Hello Eagle Family!

Just wanted to let you know I'm hanging in there and everything for today's service and gathering afterwards has been planned.

The service will be at 3pm followed by a reception at my Mom's house. It is also the night of the Christmas Boat Parade and my Mom lives on the intercoastal waterway. All the boats decorated with lights for Christmas will parade right out back, which will be beautiful.

I know you, my dear friends, are keeping me in your thoughts and prayers and I appreciate it so very much.

My youngest brother and his wife are staying with me at the beach condo. We will be leaving for the service in a little over an hour.

I better get ready!!

Peace and love to each of you!

xoxo ♥♥♥

a little squirrel was on edge of nest again I sort of have a picture of it hard to tell but its there

Hoda said...

LORI thanks for the eagle report this morning....SANDI believe me it gets better and spelling mistakes become less important and reporting becomes easier.

JO and WVDANA I like what MARGY said, God Bless those who took the baked goods. Yes they knew they were gtting baked goods because of the seran wrap on the large bos. I do not know their circumstances I just feel sad they were so desperate as to help themselves to that which is not theirs...they could have come into the church to eat with us...Church doors are always open to all...

Yes JUDYE we knew about NX. Thank you for the update.

Sounds like a delicious breakfast LYNN. Five o'clock will come and go and then you can have your supper. SO very proud of you for taking charge of the Christmas lights before the PET test...PRAYERS PRAYERS PRAYERS...Please God make it a clean test with no extra spots of cancer...I feel I am going to this test with you and I will sit in prayer while you are there...

HAND BELL CHOIRS are TERRIFIC. Such talent and such angelic sound...GREAT KUDOS to the blind lady who played them.

I sent a friend request to Geula months ago and have not heard form her, now you all say she is not in touch by email. I do hope she is safe and sound. God's Blessings to her in this troubled part of the world.

A balmy 26 degrees here. It feels like the temperatures are going up...So good that it is so cold because we do not have the ice under foot problem...I have not been using my ice grippers just my trekking poles.

LYNN, I do like this BILL CHAP...he is very helpful and true to his word...a good friend indeed...

Costume Lady said...

HODA, reading about the stolen boxes of goodies, reminded me of a time when I had a box thief. It was near time to open my costume shop and I had been receiving boxes of costumes that I had ordered. I stuffed two of the big boxes with garbage from the house, closed the lids tightly and by the time I left the shop to go to the house, the boxes were gone! Can you imagine the look on the face of the thief when they opened that big box of garbage? Oh, "revenge is mine, saith the Lord" and he sure got back (for me) at that dude;)

Costume Lady said...

Oh, Lynn, I didn't know about the IV...I DON'T like those!

Bless BILL'S heart, so glad he came back to help you:)

HODA, just found out the baby is a boy, but still in his mommy's body. He is due in April, I believe. A beautiful time of the year to bring a new life into the world~ No names yet...I would love to name him, but wouldn't think of asking:)

THANKS WANDA...I thought I could not have missed a birth announcement unless I was really slipping there!!! Ultra sounds are amazing...God Bless the new soul and the his young family.

COME ON OVER

hedgie said...

Okay...I'm back. Bill is done...as best as he could do since the stupid deck on the mower came loose, and he could only get one pin back in. Luckily he was basically finished when it happened.

Wanda, a PET is like an MRI but uses radioactive injection which causes tumors and areas of inflammation to pick up sugar and they light up on the images.

hedgie said...

Linda, know that I am thinking of you today and holding you and your family in prayer. I'm sure the service will be lovely. I know your Mom will be watching that boat parade with you. I haven't seen that, but I have seen the regattas on the waterway as well as the Indian River when my uncle was alive and participated with his yachting club (known as Saints and Sinners!!!) A wonderful spectacle......and there is nothing more peaceful than the water. It will restore you, I'm sure.

Hoda, thank you for coming with me this evening!! I'll enjoy the company. My iPod earbuds are missing---so I can't listen to music during the test---will just hear that dumb clunking noise!

Really a shame about the baked goods theft....MArgy has a good persepctive.....but it is still so wrong. :(

JudyE, yep, we've been keeping track of NX....and the other new admissions to WCV.

Mema Jo said...

So good to hear from you Linda
With family around you I'm sure the
service will honor your mom.

Lynn, the PET screening is so much better with music. They probably have
some of their own for you.
Take care - happy Bill has come by again - Holler at us when you return...

I will bbl
