We have had wonderful weather this week. However, cloudy tomorrow and storms and rain Friday. Doesn't matter anymore...lawn in places has already rotted.
You all would have been proud of me today. I was ready to stand up for raptor rights! Jack and I were in the back yard...having wine, Jack a beer. When we heard gun shots. After the second shot, I took off like a bat out of .....! I thought it was our neighbor that has the hawk nest in his tree. In previous years he has threatened to shoot it. Said it was chasing away his song birds. Well, I finally decided it was not him, but further away. BUT, I was ready to tell the guy off and ready to call the powers that be. Who ever that is!
Well Friends my Commander and Chief is whining. Wants me on the counch. He laid down beside me for awhile at computer. It just isn't what Daddy gave him.
So for now good night, pleasant dreams and BIG TIME PRAYERS FOR CHRISSY AND PRAYING THAT WE DON'T LOOSE A WONDERFUL EAGLET-MOMSTER.
Creepy Wed. Evening!!!Think the white blob in upper right corner of cam is Spidey!!!!And after work at farmhouse office, I drove down road in back to barn & OLD haunted house! How appropriate!Think it's an old tenant farmhouse. Orange sun was going down behind it.
Since everyone was talking about how great camera has been doing, I just reinstalled Flash on IE for a test. It's working like it did 2 months ago (for now)!!!
Lolly, my yellow columbine are very healthy and hardy looking...I do believe they will bloom this year! I was so afraid they might not have survived the severe Winter, but they surely did! I will, of course, show photos if they bloom:)
LOL, Glo and Paula....no ding for my dinner....even easier---just a chicken sandwich! After AYCE pizza for lunch, didn't need much tonight.
Looked at the potted hyacinths at WalMart---they were all too far gone to buy. Hoping the firehall annual sale starts Fri. so I can get a good one when I go to town. Bill has always given me one every year.....but he's so busy now I'm afraid he might forget....:(
Well, I'm off to shower and bed. Can't read any of my yahoo emails for some reason...they are there, but the body of the mails are not. Tried logging out and in but didn't work.
Daisy's trainer is coming tomorrow! Wish us luck!
Good night and prayers for all...especially Chrissy
Well, GW women water polo team lost but they played well. They were surprised to see me and more surprised to see Darth.
Lynne, I have to ask. Was Daisy was away from home this morning? If so, she was at our house being a perfect lady. Actually, we had an escapee dog named Daisy this morning -- she had escaped from her home. Her Dad showed up and took her away about three hours later. She really was a fun distraction. Good luck with the trainer tomorrow.
Tomorrow is an early day so turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others. Andy, if you aren't too tired, please set our alarm.
Wishing everyone a good night's sleep and a wonderful day tomorrow.
I just want you all to know what a wonderful evening Jack and I have had, We ate dinner outside on the patio, Had wine with dinner and just sat out there talking and enjoying the evening, However, he is now in the den watching the recorded hockey game and I am in the bedroom watching recorded AI. That is alright...to each his own!
40° and calm... Phoebe is singing at the nest, Palmer was cheeping but adult isn't getting up just yet. Adult calling out. Not sure what is on the cam lens...
Adult just flew in, with a tree branch, still has leaves or buds on it. think the other adult flew out, blob on cam is blocking the view. Trying to get that stick in just the right place, and now to attend to Palmer, had a switch, adult is laying down.
GOOD MORNING... It is only 38° right now, but the sun is shining and it promises to be a beautiful day...going up to 76°. Going to be in the mid 80s tomorrow! Our cam looks as if some Gorilla Tape may have come loose. If that is what it is, I guess we will have to endure it for the rest of this season. Belle would bite Nu's head off if he attempted to go near the nest:)
Good morning everyone. Going to be 80 today. Yes I am sending it your way. Off to a couple of different parks today and Camera Club tonight. Hope everyone has a good day.
Wow, we have a pissed off parent in our nest. Not sure what the birds are at the nest but they are sure getting wings flapped at them. They better watch out or they will be breakfast. Sorry for the language but that best describes the setting.
Good morning all. Going to be a pretty day....but be prepared.......forecast now calling for a foot of snow next week....APRIL FOOLS!!!! certainly hope that we are through with that white nonsense! No blob on lens....must have been Boris, huh?
Good morning!! Spring break is here. Yay!! I lurked a bit last night, but did not have much energy. Watched TV a little bit and went to bed. Didn't get home until late because I stayed at school to grade some projects. Grades are due first thing when we return. They will just zap them right out of my gradebook, so they will go in whether I am ready or not!!
Times have changed. I remember when we had to write them on sheets of paper and exchange them so we could write them on report cards. We also had to average them all up with paper and pencil. Now we just input them into the computer and it does the rest of the work.
Prayers for Chrissy. Hope things turn around for them.
When we eat too much, the blood all goes to your stomach to help with digestion, making the rest of the body tired. This is why little eaglets pass out after stuffing themselves!
Time for me do do some housework. I have invited my children and Rebecca for Easter. The place is a mess. I have plenty to do. Today is supposed to be work at home day for teachers, but I already put in a couple of extra hours yesterday.
I have been thinking so much about those eagles at Sleep Creek. It could very well be Liberty and Belle's offspring. Just think Spunky, MsInBetween, and Bigboy will be 5 years old Feb 9, Feb 11 and Feb 15 of 2011.
04/01/10: Encouraging activity from our ospreys on Thursday morning. At least we're seeing two birds on the nest and a few more sticks in the platform.
Good to see that action is starting at BWO! They better get a move on. Those buds on our sycamore better not turn into BIG leaves and block that lens before Palmer grows up!
For those checking out glo's Glimpses today No those are not flowers from my yard. They are from a Lawn and Garden show I went to at the Local Expo Center this past weekend. I wish they were in my yard though . I do have some daffodils with buds but don't expect the blooms til maybe mid next week. Oh and my grass could use a cutting but thats waiting til next week too LOL.
Good morning! Have already finished my walking. Had to get with it as Jack had a teleconference at 10:30.
First thing I did this morning was put out my hummingbird feeder. ☺ April 1 is the day around here to put it out. One year a hummingbird was at the window before I got it out. Must have a bird from the year before! Boy did I scramble!
Gosh, I fell asleep in front of the TV last night--no surprise. Haven't been getting enough sleep lately. Go through that every so often.
For some reason, unable so far to get the live cam today. Black screen. Oh, wait--there it is! Boy, Palmer sure is getting fluffy! The cam took several minutes to get going. Find that lately, it slows down the computer a LOT. Well, just glad to have it on for now!
Have much to do today, but want you to know I'll be praying for Chrissy and family in a few minutes--at noon eastern time. Prayers, too, that Lynne's session with the dog trainer is a success!
Shirley, have a good day off today--hope you're able to accomplish much!
Must go and get some stuff done myself now, but will be back later to check in. Will turn up the sound so if anything interesting happens at the nest, I can come running!
Wishing all of you a wonderful Thursday! Later, alligators. :o]
Hi, Jim-- Yes, AGAIN!!! Phoebe had laid a second egg, and while she was off the nest, a raven ate both eggs! The poor dear has had a miserable time lately, for sure!!
Don't recall who asked last night about how to bookmark a page on Firefox----Lolly maybe?? Sorry I forgot to answer. Just click on Bookmarks at top of page; first line says Bookmark This Page. Either click on that or do a Ctrl+D!!
She just had the troubles with the snake lizard when the nest was in a more protected area (also protected the lizard). So she builds a new one in a more open area where she can defend against lizards ... crow got the eggs.
I've seen other Hummers build on the very end of long thin branches ... probably so large birds can't land and other predators can be pecked at if they approach.
Okay, Lolly.....too lazy to go back and see. Hope whoever it was sees the post!
Maybe they are already there working on the antenna, Jim.
Wow, scenes of spring popping out all over----lovely sight of Cherry Blossoms, Rock Creek, etc. in DC....wishing we could look that good for Easter Sunday! Of course, it IS better in our towns than out here in the northwestern fringes of the county. Temp differences can be substantial in just a few miles.
Cook a chopped onion in milk in a pan, add a little butter, mustard and nutmeg,, then add grated cheese and cook until the cheese is melted,, pour into a dish, and eat with lots of crusty bread to dip into the milk juices,,,
I think it sounds quite interesting! Think I'll have to try it sometime soon. She says it's an old Northern recipe!
Lolly, had to laugh when I looked at the Paris scenes....comparing them to my daddy's slides from '51 in B&W....the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower look MUCH better in color!!
The question on bookmarking in FF was in regards to making a new folder... you have to click on the down arrow next on the far right where it says folder, then you can add a new folder

Owl maybe?
Had to go to the store tonight for Easter dinner. Took me 3 stores to find my duck!
I wasn't listening very closely Jo, had to feed the dogs. Boo was barking.
Glad we are gonna have some nice weather days...our eagles deserve it!
I did not have the cam on. Have it up now and all is quiet.
We have had wonderful weather this week. However, cloudy tomorrow and storms and rain Friday. Doesn't matter anymore...lawn in places has already rotted.
It was very faint
Mowed today and the first thing I did was get the lawn more stuck in the ditch down front. I actually thought it was funny!
WANDA....Columbine in blooming, mine not what I got from you. It looks nice, but do not see any buds. It might not be until next year.
Spidey!
Spidey!!!!!

Lolly, good for you!!! You could probably call Natural Resources. I don't know if it's a Federal Law, but I think it's illegal to harm raptors!
Lolly, my yellow columbine are very healthy and hardy looking...I do believe they will bloom this year! I was so afraid they might not have survived the severe Winter, but they surely did!
I will, of course, show photos if they bloom:)
I got sidetracked by a Disney movie... Be back when it is over
Disney and Hallmark are my favorites.

PRAYERS FOR ALL AND A VERY SPECIAL ONE FOR CHRISSY
40° and calm...
Phoebe is singing at the nest, Palmer was cheeping but adult isn't getting up just yet. Adult calling out. Not sure what is on the cam lens...
Now Palmer is napping, adult up and snacking on old squirrel.
No snack for sleepy Palmer, adult sat back down.

Good morning everyone. Going to be 80 today. Yes I am sending it your way. Off to a couple of different parks today and Camera Club tonight. Hope everyone has a good day.
Palmer is having fish for breakfast now.
Morning, all!
The gorilla tape looks just fine. Palmer being brooded at the moment.
That little bird flirting around the edge of the nest better watch it...eagle not too happy!
Might have been a ground critter...there is a bird to the left of eagle now
Wow, we have a pissed off parent in our nest. Not sure what the birds are at the nest but they are sure getting wings flapped at them. They better watch out or they will be breakfast. Sorry for the language but that best describes the setting.
I am so excited!!! Mr. Towhee is out here. Didn't even know if I was going to get towhees here!! Whoohoo!
Good morning all.
Going to be a pretty day....but be prepared.......forecast now calling for a foot of snow next week....APRIL FOOLS!!!! certainly hope that we are through with that white nonsense!
No blob on lens....must have been Boris, huh?
Good Eagleland Morning Megan, Wanda Glo, Sharon, and Lynn-Hedgie so far this pretty Thursday Morning.
Good morning!! Spring break is here. Yay!! I lurked a bit last night, but did not have much energy. Watched TV a little bit and went to bed. Such a pretty weekend for spring break.
I was wondering why my post was taking so long. Good Morning in Eagleland Shirley ( :
Hi Lynn! I haven't seen a blob this morning. Boris was active last night.
I also missed the birds hanging around our nest and annoying our parent. I logged on right after that.
Hi, Dana!
Hi, Palmer!
I see little Palmer's head moving around. Now beak to beak for a piece of food.
Eagle up, snacktime for Palmer
Palmer's poop shoot. Made it out of the egg cup.
Is that the leftover squirrel they are munching on?
Morning, Dana and Shirley.
How's your eye Dana?
Adult mostly eating...Palmer getting a few bites.
Not sure if munching on the fish or squirrel
Probably fish...crunchy bones
Good morning, Paula.
Palmer's turn now :)
I just love how Momma keeps turning her beak this way and that way until Palmer has the food. So caring ( :
Lots of Palmer chirps.
For such powerful birds, they are very gentle with the little ones.
When we eat too much, the blood all goes to your stomach to help with digestion, making the rest of the body tired. This is why little eaglets pass out after stuffing themselves!
Aren't they? Love to watch them feed the chicks.
Nice day for Palmer to enjoy a little fresh air.
Lib took off to the left
Palmer alone in nest. Looks like she's already crashed with her full tummy.
Adult in from the right..
Nice fly in and landing. Of course right over to check on Palmer.
Not sure is that another fish just brought in?
Time for some nestkeeping duties! Dig and arrange, freshen up the fluff!
I don't think so Dana
Time for me do do some housework. I have invited my children and Rebecca for Easter. The place is a mess. I have plenty to do. Today is supposed to be work at home day for teachers, but I already put in a couple of extra hours yesterday.
Is that Belle or Lib?
Took some time to post a couple of pics. You can see how much Palmer has grown.
Just saw a clip of Dr. Rogers in the studio with a bear on Inside Edition! Promoting Bearwalker on Wild Kingdom Sunday evening.
Did You Hear.....sharpshooters culled 200 deer from Camp David recently. Another hunt planned.
I think that's Belle.
Yea, Lynn, teeming with deer up there...
Shirley I like your Palmer pictures. I left a comment.
Lynn that is a lot of deer. Guess there is so many they have to have a hunt like NCTC does.
Thanks, Dana.
Must go do chores.
I have been thinking so much about those eagles at Sleep Creek. It could very well be Liberty and Belle's offspring. Just think Spunky, MsInBetween, and Bigboy will be 5 years old Feb 9, Feb 11 and Feb 15 of 2011.
Where is that Miss Normabyrd?????
Good morning, everyone.
Have missed all the action so far at the nest.
Shirley, hope all the housework is finished before dark TODAY! Then you can really relax and enjoy the Easter dinner with family.
One class down and one more to go -- then I can go -- home that is.
Hope all are having a lovely, warm, sunshiny day.
Must send my prayer for Chrissy and family now. Students coming in soon. I do so hope all will end happily.
BWO update

Jim
Lib brought a fish, Belle quickly snagged it and took it to the back dining area. Lib took off.
The branch with the buds on it has been moved right under the cam.
Good to see that action is starting at BWO! They better get a move on.
Those buds on our sycamore better not turn into BIG leaves and block that lens before Palmer grows up!
West End cam antenna got blown over in last nights winds.....they will attempt to get to it if roads aren't too muddy.
Good Morning and the sunshine is blinding! Oh beautiful day!
I sure hope Daisy is doing well with her trainer.
Palmer is surely getting the hang of those feedings. He is right in there!
Early lunch for Palmer. She is really reaching out for that food.
Why when I first sign in does Google make me doubt my password?
Need to go out and buy those jelly beans! And those Reese's peanut butter eggs for the basket. No, they are not for me.
Palmer up and looking around...does a poop shoot.
Belle grabs some nestovers...feeding time?
Ok, just ate...
Jo, Mine has been giving me fits....makes you type it twice, blah blah
Palmer scooching towards adult!
Where is Palmer???? Can't see him!
Jo, today is the first day this week that I didn't have that trouble logging in!!
Okay, I guess that is our baby to the left of Belle's tailfeathers!
Good morning! Have already finished my walking. Had to get with it as Jack had a teleconference at 10:30.
First thing I did this morning was put out my hummingbird feeder. ☺
April 1 is the day around here to put it out. One year a hummingbird was at the window before I got it out. Must have a bird from the year before! Boy did I scramble!
Yes, looking at those buds. I do believe we have trouble in the making. Wish we could nip it in the bud! lol Just had to say that!
Palmer is getting so big. Wont be long before he is all over the nest. I think he is saying "feed me" right now.
Palmer is up and mostly out of the egg cup. It was like he was following his mom.
OMG! There's been another natural tragedy at the Hummingbird nest. Read at the top of the blog section.

Good Morning, Everyone!
Hi, Jim--
Yes, AGAIN!!! Phoebe had laid a second egg, and while she was off the nest, a raven ate both eggs! The poor dear has had a miserable time lately, for sure!!
Prayers going up for Chrissy!
Hope all remembered noontime prayer for Chrissy!
Don't recall who asked last night about how to bookmark a page on Firefox----Lolly maybe?? Sorry I forgot to answer. Just click on Bookmarks at top of page; first line says Bookmark This Page. Either click on that or do a Ctrl+D!!
Not me Lynn! Do not use Foxfire, happy with IE.
Just posted two pics under Eagle and Panda Pics.
Getting some picture at WE now, so maybe it's just loose from its moorings.

Oh, Jim, that is a shame about the hummer. I think she needs a surrogate to sit in while she eats.
Poor girl.... :(
Hi, Hedgie. You can also "right click" on the page, and then click on "bookmark this page."

Jim
She just had the troubles with the snake lizard when the nest was in a more protected area (also protected the lizard). So she builds a new one in a more open area where she can defend against lizards ... crow got the eggs.
I've seen other Hummers build on the very end of long thin branches ... probably so large birds can't land and other predators can be pecked at if they approach.

Okay, Lolly.....too lazy to go back and see. Hope whoever it was sees the post!
Maybe they are already there working on the antenna, Jim.

Palmer keeps getting further and further from the egg cut. Likes getting under Mom.
Lynn, thanks for posting on where to find Jo's Paris pics. I love Paris. They got some great pics inside the Louve. I wanna go back! Waaaaaa!!!
Make that "egg cup". ☺
Here is what Chrissy is having for her dinner:
Cook a chopped onion in milk in a pan, add a little butter, mustard and nutmeg,, then add grated cheese and cook until the cheese is melted,, pour into a dish, and eat with lots of crusty bread to dip into the milk juices,,,
I think it sounds quite interesting! Think I'll have to try it sometime soon. She says it's an old Northern recipe!
Looks like Palmer is asleep at parent's feet.
Aha....you can also click on the STAR at the end of the address bar to bookmark in FF. Learning more everyday!!
Thanks, Jim....lots of interesting stuff!!
Lolly, had to laugh when I looked at the Paris scenes....comparing them to my daddy's slides from '51 in B&W....the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffel Tower look MUCH better in color!!
NEW THREAD!!!!!!
Gotta say: lots of good news today for March sales reports for GM. Always a spirit booster to hear stuff that makes pensions more secure!!!
Are ya'll talking about the buds on the right on the waving branch? That was a stick brought in.
There is a new thread. Really.
The question on bookmarking in FF was in regards to making a new folder... you have to click on the down arrow next on the far right where it says folder, then you can add a new folder
Thanks!!
