Well that split didn't hurt at all!

Oh, on the 4 wheeler story...a gal here at work heard from her son who knows the parents....that the key was left in the 4 wheeler, and the boy got on it and road it without the parents knowledge...such a tragedy.

paula eagleholic said...

Make that "rode" it

Lolly said...

Think I am going to venture outside. It is up to 68. Yea!

Back for a visit.

Hi everyone.

Did see Palmer bobbling around trying to get some food.

Speaking of Bob, so glad your surgery is over and very glad you took time to let us know.

Hello everyone. How is Palmer today?

Mema Jo said...

Chili and corn bread again!
I love it! Such an easy meal. The warmed up the next day is even better than the first.

Mema Jo said...

Hi T-Bird! Check out videos on Paula's name. Palmer is growing already!

Judie said...

Just curious -- guess I missed something that annoyed Paula and Jo -- did someone try to rename Palmer? Well, whoever is doing whatever, I know a place where a body can be hidden in a washer under a snow bank near a bear cave.

Mema Jo said...

I hear ya Dana! I hear ya Lynn!

Mema Jo said...

Love it Judie! I bet there might even be a Marker of Garland! ROFL

hedgie said...

Hmmmmm.....I don't see ANYTHING on FB that Paula has posted about Palmer. Wonder why that is??

wvgal_dana said...

Judie your cracking me up with laughter !!

Oh, Ceil, that is sad. Poor thing...poor mama dolphin. :(

Mema Jo said...

Having a rain shower here in the valley. May be headed towards the nest... It was short lived.

Mema Jo said...

So sorry about the little dolphin ...
I had read about them and was aware that this could happen but I was so hoping he would make it and that I would get a chance to see him one day.

glo said...

Awesome video Paula thank you so much for making it and sharing it. My feed is not working at all like that. I have had it up much of the day but well its not like that at all. Yours is very enjoyable. Thanks again.

Thats fine I can enjoy Paula's videos. I keep the still on my laptop and then when it looks like i need to head to the bigger desktop in the bedroom where i have the live feed I go in there to try to watch some of the happenings.

Mema Jo said...

Watching Hornby and their 1 egg

paula eagleholic said...

I think Noah was just getting dinner, too. FB page says he will go to new home at end of month, so I'm hoping that's next Weds instead of this Friday, which is 6 weeks. Hope they post what his actual last day will be.

I hadn't checked on him since last week, his feathers are growing in fast!

paula eagleholic said...

Glo, sorry you can't get a decent live feed. Have you tried turning off hardware acceleration on flash player...right click on live feed, go to settings, click on the monitor icon, uncheck enable hardware acceleration.

Glad you enjoyed the video.

paula eagleholic said...

My feed at work hangs up a little bit...the computer there is kinda old!

hedgie said...

Mits, Noah IS getting big!!! Something said recently about it being almost time for him to leave....???? Are they going to move him someplace else? Why?

hedgie said...

Well, Gee, Paula---you answered my question before I asked it!!!

paula eagleholic said...

From NCTC website

Spring Update #1 - March 22, 2010
On Sunday, March 21, 2010, at about 4 PM the eaglet hatched out. This is great news since this is the one egg out of four that made it this year, and it was right on time.

There will be lots of action now with the new eaglet. Plenty of food will be brought into the nest, and there will be ample time to watch this now tiny eagle grow.

Enjoy.

paula eagleholic said...

Nice to hear our peepers!

paula eagleholic said...

Lynn - they will transfer him to a hack box...

Mema Jo said...

I am watching the MN Bound Momma Owl.

Lolly said...

I am back. Spent a couple of hours working in the yard. Sun felt soooo good!

Talked with Laurel. She got a virus on her school computer. Surprising since they have LOTS of safe guards. The technicians said the google bar is a great way to get viruses. Lovely! Anyway she had porn sights popping up on her computer within sight of students. She turned it off fast! Called for help, whispered "I have naked ladies". lol They got there FAST! It had infected everything. They had to wipe her computer clean.

magpie said...

Ceil
sorry to hear of little baby dolphin at the aquarium...
that is sad....

magpie said...

GREAT to hear from our Bob Q, glad he seems to be coming along OK...

and sure was nice to read all the excitement here today from lots of people that were here way before me, and some during and after I joined up ☺

Lolly said...

Dancing with the Stars starts soon. Glad Jack is not here. I can watch it without his snide remarks. lol

paula eagleholic said...

LOL, Lolly, bet they got a laugh out of that phone call! Doesn't take much to get that crap on the computer...it hides so well!

glo said...

PaulaGuess what Hardware acceleration wasn't turned off on my desktop. I have just turned it off. I would so love if it will run a little smoother for me. My desktop is older than my laptop but hopefully that will help out. Thanks again.

btw: when James was watching the cam and sitting with me while I was reading comments yesterday before Palmer hatched...he got a big kick out of the monikers and avatars....asking who is this one and that one...someday he will meet more of you ! ☺

Anonymous said...

Hi all Just poped in for a min. I think you well fine that eggshell is a hole egg. She dug it up and rolled it next to chick after it hatched. When you stop and think why would she keep it there. Chick could get hurt on part of a shell. This needs checked into.

Mema Jo said...

Egg roll by 81 at TH
Hatch dates 3/24 to 3/28 2 eggs

Incubating - reception not too clear
Hatch dates 4/12 to 4/16 2 eggs

PH Incubating eggs
Hatch dates 4/1 to 4/4/ 2 eggs

Gone are the days of wooden egg replacements! We've come a long way!

stronghunter said...

Hello everybody! I have been reading the messages. Saw little Palmer get fed and took a picture. The first time I have heard the little chirps. Precious!!

BEagle said...

Hello everyone. My apologies for interrupting but wanted to say how excited I am to see little Palmer.
My goose bumps have goose bumps and I thank God for His marvelous wonders and works.

What a rough winter Belle and Lib had and it has certainly paid off with a little peeper. WOW!

Proud of the Momsters and the name Palmer is just perfect.

stronghunter said...

I'm going to hop over to my class site for awhile. I am so tired and I need to wind up this last assignment.

See you later.

Mema Jo said...

Crunch without the zoom feature it is hard to tell.... Wow Now you'll have us thinking!

Mema Jo said...

Momma Owl is doing a foot fancy egg roll Both eggs visible

Mema Jo said...

Welcome BEagle - Thanks for coming on with us. We are one proud set of Nesters! Goose bumps and all!

BEagle said...

I was wondering about the aerial wing lift Belle did yesterday. I saw it but did not realize Palmer hatched. Was that lift significant? Do they always do that?

Anonymous said...

Jo I seen her dug it up and roll it in next to chick. That was about 10 min. after the hatch. Egg was at the 6:00 mark under the fluff.

Mema Jo said...

BEagle - have you watched the videos Paula has on her blog - just click on her name and the the blog of eaglet momsters.
I am not certain what you saw with the Wing Lift and I'm sure Palmer has been down in that egg cup since hatching.
Belle was stretching out big time after being over the egg well for so long. Try to tell me what you think you saw. I could be wrong.

Mema Jo said...

Man Crunch! Guess the only thing we can do is really keep a watch - I don't think it will be a hatch - I guess somewhere in that nest other eggs are dug in from the first 3 she laid. Well one hatched and that is Palmer and you're saying one was dug up and so there are 2 more somewhere.

I think all we can do is watch very very carefully and try to get a pic of it. Wow! Crunch! Glad you told us what you saw.

Mema Jo said...

Crunch I know we will all be taking an extra careful look and one of us will holler when we get a picture and try to confirm it isn't the half shell!
Thanks again! Stick with us, Guy!

Anonymous said...

Belle would not let a egg shell there that long. They are sharp.

hedgie said...

Hi ya', Crunch Bob. How are y'all doing?? Regardless of what the old egg situation is, there's nothing that can be done about it......no going near the nest from here on out til after fledge!

BEagle said...

Well, she backed off the egg cup and stretched her wings a little. Then she backed up more...closer to the camera, spread her wings and came off the nest a little. She looked like she would fly away but just dropped back down on the nest and went over to the egg cup.

I did check the Momsters and it was on there but I didn't check the time.

Mema Jo said...

I'll have to agree with what you say about Belle and the half egg shell not being left in the egg cup.
Like I said, Palmer was egg #4. Somewhere in the nest are 3 others and you have sighted one in the egg cup.

Any suggestions how to find out, Crunch other then wait it out.

Judie said...

Lolly, Jack is not in trouble he is in WV with Wanda! Bet he took her a shiny garland, too.

Ceil, sorry about the baby dolphin.

Paula, what's a hack box?

Off to watch Hoarders. Quiet at nest.

Mema Jo said...

BEagle all I can think of is that little Palmer just better not hang onto her Mom or Dad's wings when they stretch or else Palmer is going over the edge of the nest! And that would just break tooooooooo many hearts!

I am just glad Palmer is safe and sound down in that deep egg well!
Don't worry another minute about it BEagle! ((hugs))

paula eagleholic said...

Chick check....some digging

Bob I will check out my video and see what I can see

paula eagleholic said...

Couldn't get a really good look, night time would be best to see if she dug up an egg.

Anonymous said...

Jo We will have to wait an see what happens.

Hedgie NO you can't go to nest wouldn't do any good any ways.

BEagle said...

OK. She's checking out her brood now. What a sight!

Maybe the wing lift was her example of what she expects Palmer to do eventually. (Actually she looked like she was jumping for joy that she pulled Palmer through all the snow and cold!)

lol

paula eagleholic said...

LOlly, it's really a hack tower...I'll find you a pic....big outside cage for eaglets.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I think when Belle did her wingercising yesterday, she was just stretching her wings, although it did look celebratory. :)

Mits said...

Deb used to talk about them all the time, they would put the osprey in the hack towers in SD.

paula eagleholic said...

Lolly, this is the first place we learned about them. They took some chicks from Blackwater and introduced them to Vermont

Vermont eagle program

paula eagleholic said...

Even if she did dig up an egg, it will get buried again soon...

Mema Jo said...

I just saw Momma Owl take off for her break. It is around 8:42 each evening.
Incredible to have a built in clock!

BEagle - I think she was jumping for joy also! lol

Crunch - We will keep eagle eyes on that egg cup! Thanks so much for bringing the info to all our attentions.

You're welcome, Margy :0

Glo, did it help at all?

paula eagleholic said...

Go Buzz!

paula eagleholic said...

Evan was great on DWTS.

Lolly said...

Paula, It was Judie who asked about a "hack box". I know what a hack tower is!

Jo, once again the GHO snuck into the nest. I was watching carefully, then all of a sudden the eggs were covered!

paula eagleholic said...

You gotta admire Buzz Aldrin at 80 years old doing Dancing with the Stars!

paula eagleholic said...

Thanks, Lolly.

Judie, check out the link I posted to the Vermont program!

Lolly said...

Watched Buzz. He really did not do too well. lol But, he is 80! Wow!

Lolly said...

And, of course, I would look like a real klutz out there, so who am I to criticize.

BEagle said...

I enjoyed watching our Gold Medalist..Evan.

They should give points to Buzz for his age, like half a point for every 10 years over 50!

Judie said...

Thank you, Paula.

Classes begin for me tomorrow morning. So this must be an early night.

Has anyone heard from Andy today? Maybe I missed her.

Turning my light off but will leave the night light on for others. Andy, if you come in please set our alarm.

Goodnight to all including Belle, Lib, and Palmer.

glo said...

Enjoying Dancing with the Stars too. Paula Feed still stalls out every couple of seconds. Tomorrow when there is feedings and peepings etc I might be able to tell if there has been any improvement. There might be a little but well. MTBR

Evening Everyone! Went to Red Lobster to celebrate baby Palmer & late B'Day dinner!! YUM YUM!!!! Got lots of leftovers. Bet birds would like it.
Paula, your video is great! Looks like they had huge steak to eat!

hedgie said...

Time for Damages, Jo!

DWTS was okay....MTBR as the weeks progress! Can't pick any favs yet, but go Buzz, just because!!!

Very strange that we haven't heard anything from Andy. I emailed her yesterday about our hatch.....I'll call her tomorrow if she doesn't post tonight!

hedgie said...

Seems like they started with fewer couples this season, didn't it? Only 11.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Good night and sweet eagle dreams, my friends of fine feathers and fur! Good night Little Palmer, our little miracle! :)

NatureNut said...

Good Grief, I forgot to post that comment! Been reading!
Was noticing from videos that egg well looks like Palmer's Den!

Saw exchange between Jo & Paula~~~WHO wanted to name our eaglet?????
So sorry about Aq. dolphin. Even worse was about the 2 whales found lifeless at Fenwick & maybe other at OC. Had injuries they think from ships. How can that happen??
Well gotta do some stuff & hit the hay---inernetless work in AM!Maybe it will rain enough, I can sneak to other bldg. w/real 'puters! ☺
If I konk out, Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)

magpie said...

Well, I think I will do what Deb often mentioned doing...a little reading before sleeptime...

I'm mindful of the many things about people here that I'll be sending my prayers up for tonight..
and I sure appreciate what others and God have done for me all the while since I was a little baby Magpie, but especially recently

Hope all Sleep Sweetly and that Tuesday is a good day....

God Bless Us, Every One

Lolly said...

Watching Castle now. Jack called. He ate a delicious meal at a steak house, had wine. Sometimes this world is just not just! lol He really liked the meal, some kind of stuffed filet. He asked to talk to the chef, but got no where. He is coming up with a new idea for a meal for us to make. That my jubby!

Lynne2 said...

Just "pooping" in to say goodnight!

Lolly, hope you've heard from Jack by now!

Sure hope we hear from Andy soon...not like her not to check in like this....

It's so nice to see Crunch, sUSAn, bev, BEagle and others not on as often as we'd like join in for the celebration of little Palmer's arrival!

Videos and pics are all great and thank you everyone for posting!

We have the loudest peepers ever around here today...they started before dusk and are going strong! Screech owls also! Forsythia just started blooming here too. Heard first rumbles of thunder today also! I LOVE SPRING!

Have a great evening and prayers for all!

glo said...

I was wondering too who wants to name our eaglet. Everyone who watches this cam needs to know it is not open for discussion and why not. I am sure there is a very nice way to say this to whomever, however many times we might need to. Folks don't know but I surely hope and believe they would respect and agree with the info. Perhaps whatever comment Paula made wherever has that fully resolved already.

I find very little posting on the Facebook eagle group. Mostly us. But I can just as easily or more easily talk to us right here. Unless there is another Facebook Group I haven't found.

paula eagleholic said...

Lowreeda - don't you dare throw those garlic cheddar biscuits out for the birds!

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, Lowreedaa, Palmer is most definitely named...Jo and I were talking about the FB group that is on the cam page...maybe we should tell them the chick is already named!

hedgie said...

Glo, what is on the bottom of the Outdoor Channel page is different from what shows on the group on FB.....that is where someone wanted to called it Stormy or something.

Lolly said...

Keeping an eye on Hornby tonight. Second egg is due to be laid.

paula eagleholic said...

Lynn - that's the same group...if you notice at the bottom of the postings, there are pages to click on....shows the prior comments...that's where they are.

paula eagleholic said...

Most of the eagle forums know the chicks name, and that's what counts, but it probably wouldn't hurt to post the info on the FB group as well...

glo said...

YES you need to tell them the little ones name and why. Then welcome them to join Momsters and follow along with those who have watched and loved this pair over previous seasons etc.

hedgie said...

Jo...what do you think now? I can't believe that Patty keeps getting away with all the s---- she pulls!

Mema Jo said...

Well I never! Lynn I think there are 10 episodes this season and that was #9. How in the heck are they going to wind this all up if only another show?
Did you see him JUMP off the bridge?

Now What!!! I'll be sure to watch next week!

stronghunter said...

Hello!

Yay!!! I have finished and turned in my final assignment. I did it all, and a day early at that. Missed Dancing with the Stars, but I'll catch up on that later.

Now, I am tired. Macbeth in two classes tomorrow. Should not be too bad. Other class will be doing a movie and discussing realism, etc. I have always liked this movie, based on a short story--"The Revolt of Mother." Plot: Dad promises mom a new house--the old one is not so nice anymore--he decides to build a fancy new barn instead, and . . . I don't want to spoil the end; you might enjoy it. (It caused some controversy when it was first published.)

Mema Jo said...

Ok Paula - it has been decided for your statement about Palmer and an invite for them to join in over here on the comments on Outdoor.. Put your videos on there.
I don't know about FB comments other than our momsters but I'll see what is over there. I don't go over but about once in the evening. (mainly just to check on my friends and family)

paula eagleholic said...

I just watched Belle digging in the fluff, and I would have to agree with crunch, that she has unearthed that old egg, I just saw it roll into the hole she was digging! She didn't egg roll it, it just fell in...

glo said...

Deb loved this pair long before most of the folks over there even knew NCTC existed. I think they just need to know about her and why the name Palmer has already been chosen by those who have enjoyed NCTC in previous seasons in honor and memory of Deb.

stronghunter said...

Good night, good friends. See you tomorrow.

Mema Jo said...

Wow Paula - glad you were watching and saw it. I really thought is was the half shell - I'm glad Crunch brought it to our attention.

Lolly said...

How about we all join that group and just start talking about Palmer. ☺

Mema Jo said...

Our eagle just tucked head under the wing.. Good sign that all is well!

Checking FB and some cams.......

paula eagleholic said...

Could see the egg again....I thought it was 1/2 a shell, too...was wondering why she didn't pick it out.

I'll post something over on the FB group tomorrow...

hedgie said...

Gonna be hard to wrap it up in one more episode, for sure, Jo!

Well, gang, I have not had a very good day....some real irritations, so I am going to take my discombobulated spirit to the tub and pretend that Calgon is taking me away. Do they even make that stuff anymore?? LOL!

Hope everyone rests well...including Belle with her little fluff ball. Prayers for all. See you in the morning.

Mema Jo said...

It isn't really FB - it is comments that show on Outdoor.. FB is Pamela and then our Sharon and Sissy.

Mema Jo said...

I am heading back the hallway!

Everyone have a very restful night

stronghunter said...

You remember we did have two eggs there for awhile. Interesting.

Good night for real.

stronghunter said...

Hope tomorrow is better, Lynn.

paula eagleholic said...

hearing some Palmer peeps

paula eagleholic said...

Just took some video....think it's a half an egg now...gonna recheck it.

paula eagleholic said...

Yes, there's half an egg shell under her, she picked it out with her beak, clearly half a shell, then I think it got shoved back under her when she was digging.

Lolly said...

Okay, went to the NCTC facebook page. Low and behold I had already joined the group. Do not remember that! Have not been going to the page. Anyway, posted a picture of Little Palmer being fed today. Then I went to the post comment site on the cam homepage. They are different. You just have to have a facebook account to post. I made a comment about little Palmer. It showed up on my homepage but NOT on the NCTC fb homepage.

Lolly said...

Nite Lynn! Sure hope tomorrow is a better day! (((HUGS)))

Lolly said...

Nite all. Going to call it quits!
Drowned my sorrows of Jack being gone in pop corn and a G&T. lol I'll show him!

Good Morning, Everyone!
Many apologies for being MIA! Finally seem to have made it back here without my computer doing a 'crash dump'!

S-O-O-O-O-O HAPPY TO SEE BABY PALMER!!!! YIPPEEEEEEEE!!!

Have had all kinds of trouble with my computer. It had been whining constantly about wanting to do updates, so when I finally let it, the stupid thing is all messed up and keeps doing 'crash dumps'and going to a blue screen (NOT the 'blue screen of death', though). I have to sign back in from scratch, and then it happens again. What a pain! Now it's really, really slow, too. Very frustrating!

Wow! It's so wonderful to hear a baby eagle again! What a miracle!!!
Couldn't be happier--kudos to Belle and Lib, for their wonderful care of little Eggbert/Palmer!

Glad to hear that Bob came through the eye surgery OK. Prayers for a speedy recovery!

Sorry to hear about the loss of the baby dolphin. Between that and the death of the orca trainer, I'm re-thinking whether we should even have whales and dolphins in captivity! JMHO.

Have to attempt to read back on the blog and catch up--a daunting task!
Will have to do it later today, though, because have to study a particularly tough and long chapter for a test on Wednesday night. Prayers would be appreciated--lots to try to remember!

Hope all of you are feeling well. You have all been in my prayers, and my thoughts. Absolutely HATE when I am unable to get to the blog! Have been having major withdrawal symptoms!
Right now, need some breakfast. My blood sugar is only 83, and I'm STARVED! BBIALW, Good Lord willing and "the creek don't rise!" :o]

Good morning everyone. I hear the sweet noises of morning on my desktop and camera has been running for over 2 minutes without a hiccup. This coul dbe the start of something Good. Oh my I surely do hope so.
Well Dex and I are getting ready to head across the street. So glad I don't see any snow in that nest. Had me worried for a minute when I read a few posts back.

Sissy/Bev lives a far ways from the nest and no snow predicted here, so not to worry:) She has snow often, when we don't.

Looks like we have some action starting up at BWO this morning.

What's been happening around our nest??

My live feed started up "almost" without problem ... short delay as the arrow circled is all.

The picture is too bright, probably the IR is still on. Otherwise, it's fine.

Good morning, fine fowl friends,
Cloudy and chilly here so far, but all of the various birdsong proves that spring is here! Belle has been a bit noisy....think she wants Lib to relieve her!

Glad that Andy posted. Was going to let you know that she emailed during the night about her puter problems.

Palmer is in view!

Hi all!

Andy! Good to hear from you. We were worried.

I was up too late last night, so now I am a bit weary this morning.

I hear all kinds of sounds at the nest. Something going on below, and, I guess, Palmer chirping. Not sure. Something is chirping. And there he/she is! Getting fed! More chirps.

Yum...more chow!!

Paula, now the comments on the cam page are only 3 OLD ones with no link for other pages....very wierd!!!
