saw the woman on Channel 9, that said we should send China eagles instead of the panda, spoken like a true uninformed person....the pandas belong to China, unless they were gifted. Which they really do not do anymore....some people just open up their mouth and let stupid things spill out....jmho
Hedgie: This incident was just west of the Park's Gap Bridge/Cannon Hill Rd intersection...Dry Run Road
Not even sure I know about the Golf Club Rd incident
Yeah, real shame when someone does a scam...we had one a few years ago, hundreds of thousands of dollars bilked, the victims got little relief....it just ain't right!
I am going to watch a little TV - Margy - I really would have last year's taxes redone or looked over by someone... Nice people do turn out to be con artist sometimes. Hard to know who to trust but you can't lose faith in people.
Crazy day today. Finally got my 4th block class settled--after adding two new students, having a third pretend he was a new student (--disappeared when I went to check), and settling down a girl having a tantrum, I got them all settled and listening when the fire alarm went off.
It is time to stop having 4th block fire drills!!!! We've gotten stuck in that mode.
I have a bad habit of taking off my glasses and losing them, so I am always looking for them. I do not have the problem with contacts, but I have to use reading glasses. I just buy lots of inexpensive reading glasses.
Shirley, I have a gazillion reading glasses all over the house, and when I go to read something or sit at the puter....they are gone, and I have to go find them
Night Bandit is on the Prowl! And the Sandman is making his moves too....better say Good Night while the getting's good. I'll be back up at 4 am, checking our nest first thing! Three 12's coming up for me.
Hope Wanda and GG had a good day....and everyone else.
Tomorrow, is RED FRIDAY for our soldiers.... every Friday.
Prayers for the many needs amongst us and people we don't even know... God Bless Us, Every One xo ☺ ♥
Just finished dinner here and getting ready to watch Grey's and PP. Going to watch those two while working on slides. Won't be back for a couple of hours. But, I will be back to check on our windy nest, which, by the way, keeps going in and out. Had to use "by the way" since Jacob did today.
And there's nothing worse than needing glasses to look for glasses!! I have to take one of the girls with me when I get new frames cause I can't see how they look on me WITHOUT my glasses!!
Shirley, glad you made it through such a hectic day.
Margy....I didn't hear about the Parks Gap bridge incident (until you told me). I don't recall the details of the other one, but think it was near the rail crossing----think that's where the creek runs, right? Ha---you remember what happened to the guy form that older incident! Know several people who got taken in that one.
Hi Shirley. Sorry you had such a hectic day. Oh, if you take your glasses off, put them on top on your head -- that's usually where I find mine.
Wanda, hope GG had a better day today.
Am saying an eagle prayer that the bad weather stays south of our nest and NBG just in case the eggs can't wait.
It's time to turn my light off. I'll leave the night light on for others coming in. Andy, please set the security system when you get home from school. Good night everyone. Pleasant eagle egg dreams.
Late already! Gotta get laundry out of drier. Had an email from Jo. I thought her orig. address was not being used. It was a FWD, of "2010" and had come from Lynn. Something about finding hearts in pics. I deleted, but it didn't seem suspicious. I couldn't find out how to block an address, just delete contacts. Oh well, Pleasant Feather Dreams to All ;>)
Loretta, Jo got her email working okay again with just a change of password from what hotmail told her. Okay to send and accept mail from her now!! Good night!! Hope your knees are okay! And that mouth is feeling better!
OK, Thx. I'll unblock her!!!! After starting to do bulbs, I got knees off the ground, and stooped over to dig, etc. Other body parts weren't too happy, tho. At 1 PM took a pain pill, so breezed thru everything else and was very habby! LOL My mouth is almost pain free--never was real bad. Too bad I get to lose a tooth anyway. Mean Xrays! BTW,showed the tiny screech owl pic to our leader, Jan, at work. They have exactly the same kind in tree outside their kitchen window! Their tree has orangey bark, so it's a real camo job! I'll have to put pic on later. BTW, I heard maybe 1 foot of snow in Norfolk. Hope they don't lay eggs yet!
I was watching TV shows this evening = some new and some repeats that I hadn't seen or remembered. Lolly - loved the phone call story with Jacob. He's growing up! Glasses - Hedgie I'm the same way - I can't do anything without my glasses - Wanda - so glad you mentioned that GG was a bit better today. Margy - 3 12's is a lot but I know you are used to it. Holler if you see Belle in egg cup at 4:00am
Loretta, sometimes habby is real good!! BTW---took me a bit of searching to find the AOL blocking, but did! Block was apparently automatically removed when I put Jo back in my contacts!
Will look for the owl pic tomorrow.
Lolly, heard that Lubbock got a good bit of snow!
I am going to say my goodnights now, too. Nest was MT when I checked a little while ago.
I am back and everyone is headed to bed or long since gone to sleep.
Yes, Mits, reruns tonight. Big disappointment! However, we watched a program about Paris that was interesting. I got one more tray of slides done. Finally got to baby pictures. Fun to look at them.
Just checked the nest, once again just a web blowin in the breeze. Think I am going to put my nose in a book before heading to the shower.
Hi, Jim! Hi, Everyone! Just got home from school. Thanks, Jim, will check it out. Boy, it sure felt like a L-O-N-G evening at school! Glad I'm done for the week now. Everything's turned in that needed to be. Got the 2 tests back from last week. Thank God, got 'A's on both of them! Got a 97 on one, and aced the proofreading test! Thanks SO much for all your prayers for me~~they still are working!!!!! Boy, my eyes are really itching and tearing up tonight--think maybe I'll hit the dusty trail to dreamland! Durn allergies, anyhow! My sinus headache is gone, though! Yippee!!!! Well, the night light is on, the porch light is automatic, and the eye scanner is officially enabled. God bless you guys! Sleep tight, and will talk to you in the morning. G'night, all! Love you guys! :o]
Sorry I missed a few after hours last night. Glad to hear that GG is improving, that Andy is smacking back the allergies and sinus problem and getting stellar grades, and that NatureNut is smiling pretty good and hubby is habby
Nearly full moon approching the western horizon, riding along with Mars and "The Twins" - Mars and Moonie will be even closer as Megan said, overnight tonight, so I hope the weather hereabouts is good for THAT, but especially for the Polar Bear Plunge !
Yes, I do see your "eagle":) We have a tree at the edge of our woods that looks like an eagle sitting there...white head and tail...the whole body. Can try to capture the image on camera.
okey dokey Wanda...I do see that you did hit the sack a little earlier than usual last night.
Prayers for all in the path of the severe weather across the country.... Lolly, I hope all will be okay in Texas for you and your families.... xo out the door now

GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!---Have been up scanning the blog!---But WHOA!---an EAGLE in the nest certainly get one's attention!!---MORNIN' MARGY--WANDA--SHIRLEY & MEGAN!!!---YEP! THE EAGLE HAS LANDED!!!

Morning all. Belle still on egg cup.... Tai being featured on CBS Morning Show all morning! Zoo official says he will be doing the "power walk" among the female candidates when he gets to China! Guess that means the macho strut!
GOOD MORNING AGAIN. I was up earlier, but did manage to go back to sleep. I just heard a noise at the nest that sounded like a gun shot. Did anyone else hear that? Maybe I'm still asleep and dreaming:)
Yes, Mits, live shots. Tai is out and about, strolling and eating. Gun shots....say it isn't so! D...n...please tell me we aren't going to have to go through this again. Norma, the Lily people say they have been so inundated with name suggestions that they told people to stop sending!!
YUP MITS!---That's why I said the other day that 'TAI' will be returning to CHINA in style--FED-EX!---aah! the 'little prince' will miss the old USA!!--BUT WE WILL MISS HIM MUCH--MUCH MORE!!
I listen to several, WPOC country, 93.1 Lite FM 109.1 and The Bay Classic Rock 100.7 ususally. But I have music on the fios so I don't listen very often...why!
Maybe NBG has an egg!! Didn't Jo ( I think ) tell me that it's usual BWE, NBG then ours? They are calling for 6 to 12 inches of snow there from late tonight thru early Sunday
BLUEFIELD SHARON---WV-NPR has been saying you folks in the southern part of WV will be getting more SNOW than we will here!!---Of course those reports change all the time!!
Looks like it's going to be 27 and breezy with only the slightest chance of snow down at Sandy Point tomorrow. My friend Sharon's twin 17 year old boys are also plunging!
all kind of jobs, but last few years he was there was associate producer for Ben and Brian, had his own show on Sunday nights....hours were tough, so left pretty soon after he got married...
Mits, is 98.7 where Lori still works? (I get the numbers so confused---with XM on my TV, I just never tune in to radio anymore!) I got a nice email from Kevin telling about Maggie being on TV this evening. Dart---can't get Baltimore stations since stupid squirrels chewed through rotor wire. But he said it will be online sometime over the weekend...so will keep checking for that!!
well God Bless them, and thank them for us, Lynne....I am truly amazed at the people that come out to do this, we all can't wait till Maggie gets to go to Special Olympics, but there would be none, if not for the people who plunge and support this very worthy cause...the Super Plungers start soon, they go in once an hour for 24 hours.
I hope the snow doesn't affect the Polar Bears! Helen, I think I love Kevin...he is a SUPER dad! Did he hit his goal this year? Are you going to be there (of course you are)...please send us photos.
yes, Wanda, he did:), thanks to you and the other momsters who pledged....THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH:)He really appreciates it and so does the Special Olympics of Maryland. We will be there:)and big day on Sunday, Ben gets baptized....
For those of you who would like to see Helen's MAGGIE:
First off, THANK YOU for your donation to Maggie's Mounties & more specifically, Special Olympics Maryland. I will be sending out a more formal Thank You Letter once the Plunge is over and I regain feeling in all of my extremities! The real reason for this email is to invite you to watch a special piece WBAL-TV Channel 11 is running during their 5PM Newscast this Friday, January 29th.
The piece revolves around Maggie, as well as, Logan Hudson and their respective Plunge Teams! Check it out if you get a chance, if not, it will also be up on www.wbaltv.com sometime over the weekend & I'll try to post it on FaceBook as well.
Once again, Thanks for your Support & pray that we only get a couple inches of SNOW on Saturday!
Well, I hope to see that on TV tonight, Wanda, thanks for posting that. I would've loved to pledge some money, but I am broker than broke...maybe next time.
Yes, prayers for Special Olympics, and those who serve to raise money are greatly needed. We know prayers go a long way on here. Capt. Gene worked with the Special Olympics for many years and it is a very worth-while organization. You have never seen such a happy group of people than the Special Olympians. They gave Gene a beautiful plaque the last year he was with them (he had to give it up to help with the care of my Dad and GG).
Mits, they only said that DOnnie wasn't retiring. No indication that it wasn't his choice, but nothing about what is next for him. I worked S.O. a few years, too. So much fun!

The NBG female is on the nest after midnight and is looking restive, as though she is about to lay an egg.

well God Bless them, and thank them for us, Lynne....I am truly amazed at the people that come out to do this, we all can't wait till Maggie gets to go to Special Olympics, but there would be none, if not for the people who plunge and support this very worthy cause...the Super Plungers start soon, they go in once an hour for 24 hours.
I hope the snow doesn't affect the Polar Bears! Helen, I think I love Kevin...he is a SUPER dad! Did he hit his goal this year? Are you going to be there (of course you are)...please send us photos.
Lori is at WASH fm 97.1 now,,,,she is on from 5 to 9 in the morning, the Loo and Lori show
I have been hesitating about sending an email to Steve about the gun shot. I'd probably stir up a bucket of worms and probably not do a bit of good:(
Speaking of Lori, did she ever send any of her photos from our nest visit? I was disappointed that she didn't.
yes, Wanda, he did:), thanks to you and the other momsters who pledged....THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH:)He really appreciates it and so does the Special Olympics of Maryland. We will be there:)and big day on Sunday, Ben gets baptized....
Wanda, don't do it.....you know how they get:)
Take care,
Yes, you are right, Helen. They could cut us off completely if THEY wanted to. Just grin and bare it:)
Ben getting baptized means there will be another little angel on earth:)
grinning here, Wanda:):):):)!!!!
Excuse me...that email was from Helen's son, KEVIN.
thanks, Wanda, we don't get Baltimore stations here either....Logan team is Logan's Heroes, he is a cutie pie....
If you have never seen Kevin and Maggie...the stars of the Polar Bear Plunge, I have a photo of that family on my blog, SMILES:):)
Well, I hope to see that on TV tonight, Wanda, thanks for posting that. I would've loved to pledge some money, but I am broker than broke...maybe next time.
no worries, Megan, just pray the organization makes alot of money:), think last year they made over 2 million.
I don't worry, I will be wishing and hoping that they make a ton of money!
Speaking of radio....Donnie Simpson is leaving WPGC; today is his last day.
I read that earlier this week, Lynn...is he going someplace else?
Cool, I'll try to remember to watch that at 5pm!
Eagle back in nest
Yes, prayers for Special Olympics, and those who serve to raise money are greatly needed. We know prayers go a long way on here.
Capt. Gene worked with the Special Olympics for many years and it is a very worth-while organization. You have never seen such a happy group of people than the Special Olympians. They gave Gene a beautiful plaque the last year he was with them (he had to give it up to help with the care of my Dad and GG).
working on the nest cup again
I love it when they both want to sit in the nest cup... beaking, and a little push to move Lib( I think) out of the nest cup.
One flew, then the other. MT nest
eagle sleeping on branch at Lake Washington
MORNIN' again!!---I had to get dressed!---cold!---My KIDS & I used to work with SPECIAL OLYMPICS----Very worthwhile organization!!
MEAGN--Do you have problems with freezing pipes!---I wondered if SHIRLEY had gotten hers fixed!!--
Mits, they only said that DOnnie wasn't retiring. No indication that it wasn't his choice, but nothing about what is next for him.
I worked S.O. a few years, too. So much fun!
