too bad, Mei has already been AI'd, Tian really wants to play in the snow with her, she is just watching him thru the moon window while he rolls on the ground and jumps around
GOOD MORNIN' MITS!!---I just finished CONGRATULATING you on your wonderful day with 'ADORABLE MAGGIE'---& I wished a GOOD MORNIN' to all the folks that are up!!---Seems the whole crew are waiting with bated breath for an EGG!!!---or 2--or 3!!!
9 degrees here when I got up. Was only up once during the night and Belle was not in nest at that time, but looked like she had been....and Jim, Nilla, and Margy verified that! Guess she is out and about now looking for food!
It surely is a GLORIOUS am---SUN is shining & the TREES are piled up with!---Someone remarked yesterday that nothing is more beautiful than a 'CARDINAL' in the SNOW!! HOW TRUE!!
I didn't take this picture that is my avatar. It was taken of the SNOWY OWL yesterday, I think. It was posted on the PA Bird List. I'll try to put a link here for more pictures for those interested. Well, I couldn't drag a link but here is the address.
Just cake and coffee, Lynn, big party was after the plunge yesterday, they had all the plungers back for pizza, we won't stay long, hubby has to go out of town for the rest of the week, leaving tonight....was going to the "b", but they have snow, so maybe later in the week, will see.
I'm getting antsy about Belle and our 1st egg. Maybe we will record it on Glo's b-day since she missed Megan's. Really bright out there today. Sure hope all that nest snow melts!
Mits, sounds low key, which is probably good after yesterday! Too bad you have to postpone your B trip. Is Jay headed anyplace WARM?? You should go with him, if so!!
Norma, Belle came in to the nest in the wee small hours of the morning (always loved that song!) and then left before dawn. But there she is---looking beautiful!
Don't know about the rest of you, but on this netbook, still cam pic is not real big. If I click on view, zoom and then choose a %, I can get a real decent look at our birds.
Granny, the snow owl pics were good--- thanks! Lovely bird!
Hey, Wanda! There is a restaurant in Hagerstown called GG's! Got a really good review from the Herald secret gourmet. It's on N. Potomac at The Gourmet Goat (GG's is in the back).
Up to 23 here, as well, Mits. Breezy, and icicles are melting. Glare is terrible---had to close the verticals to the sunroom. Both were just innest, but now one poofed.
Jo, I am not sure that 9 degrees is that much better than 1 degree with respect to the welfare of our eagles. We need about 40 degrees so that the snow will melt, and a nice amount of sunshine to warm it up.
I did that Sharon and no0thing changed Then I entered Middletown and Frederick zips and got new numbers that seemed correct. It is what it is.... not to worry! Just watching our eagles......
Good morning everyone. It's a cold day in H-town, but the roads have been cleared and are all melted. Just hoping it warms up a few degrees before our first egg appears.
Norma! How could anyone forget Spunky? It was our hopes and dreams for him that brought this community together.
Tom is laying carpet in the living room and the house is all upside down again! I need a bed something fierce, but it is covered in TVs and stuff! I have a sinus infection or something and I DO NOT LIKE IT SAM I AM!!!!
Stronghunter: The Spunky year was the first year that we all came together to watch the nest. From what several of us had read, it was rare for a third eaglet to survive. As the youngest and smallest, there may not be enough food, and older siblings can be very deadly. So we were allpulling for Spunky, as the 3rd, and survive he did! And as our nest has proved again, a third eaglet is not an impossibility!!
Hard to believe this is the 3rd season that I've watched! I was such a sad bundle of crying nerves watching the smallest eaglet....did not know the facts then and thought Belle was deliberately not feeding Tiny! But thanks to all of the smart people here, I soon learned so much!!
Good Sunday Afternoon Everyone in Eagleland! Slept late today & when I woke up was horrified that I was missing a Dr. appt! That's for Monday! I don't function til a couple cups of coffee.Stiff as a board too, from gardening! F said don't do any more tulips! Need to wear sunglasses in the house! It's about 34° on kitchen window thermometer.
I remember the videos Glo made of Spunky. I think she had one for Flag Day. I play it every 4th of July! (May be the one posted--I haven't played it yet)
Great close up of Lady Norfolk (if that's her name). She stood up and moved fluff. Seems more snow in cup- area that edges. That should melt I guess w/body warmth. Eagle in our nest still. Wonder if there's an egg race!!!
They reall zoomed in after I first saw it. Wasn't fast enough punching buttons. The male had been in nest, too, just before & went out on his usual perch.I got a pic of the 2 of them, but egg is important! They had zoomed out then.
Loretta, you are JOHNNY ON THE SPOT! What a beautiful shot of NBG egg...you go girl! Hope you are around when Belle gives us an egg:) And also, Paula with her new video program thingy:)
Now, in re to the temp. listed on the Outdoor Site...says 9°. It is 34° at our house and 30° at the airport. Take your pick:) LOL
1) When our live feed times out, instead of punching the reload or restore buttons, just click on the play button at the bottom. Much faster.
2) At NBG every time I accidentally run my cursor over the picture, the picture disappears. And I was spending a lot of time either going to full screen or clicking on reload. Now, I found out if you just put your cursor on the scroll bar and move it a little, the picture comes right back ... instantly.
I don't know if you have had the same problems, but if so, try these cures.
We're just gonna have to live with refreshing, many cams do it, to save bandwidth. I love the live feed, just wish I could figure out why it slows my computer down so much.
Mark, the mating (HP!) will continue until Belle let's him know that there are no more eggs waiting!! Did you see my note yesterday telling you that I had left links to MBG and BWE on Fri. evening blog?
Ya Hedgie i seen the Post but couldnt find it. But i seen it now from Floralgirl. I appreciate the Help from everyone. This is my first year on the Blog so i am a greenhorn right now lol. But can say this i am a Eagle Nut. I love those Eagles :) I am like a Parent myself waiting in the OB room for News and Cigars in Hand..

NBG looks like a winter wonderland....have a blessed Sunday
love watching pandas in the snow, Tian was just hanging out at the top of the willow tree.
too bad, Mei has already been AI'd, Tian really wants to play in the snow with her, she is just watching him thru the moon window while he rolls on the ground and jumps around
Good Morning:) 11° and wonderfully sunny here this morning.
nice pics on BWE site....
Nest Update
01/31/10:
Our two eggs look safe in this recent shot.
We also saw an interesting sequence where it appeared the mother switched with the father but then acted like she wanted to get back on the eggs.
GOOD MORNIN' MITS!!---I just finished CONGRATULATING you on your wonderful day with 'ADORABLE
MAGGIE'---& I wished a GOOD MORNIN' to all the folks that are up!!---Seems the whole crew are waiting with bated breath for an EGG!!!---or 2--or 3!!!
morning Norma, thanks.....Tai Shan is rolling all over his yard in the snow...
up the tree he goes:)
WILD & WONDERFUL WV looks like a 'WINTER WONDERLAND' too!!---temp is up to 9° now---but also read WANDA in MARTINSBURG has colder weather!!
Morning, Mits! Any big party after Bens' baptism?
9 degrees here when I got up. Was only up once during the night and Belle was not in nest at that time, but looked like she had been....and Jim, Nilla, and Margy verified that! Guess she is out and about now looking for food!
Finland cam has been down all weekend.
Glad I didn't know that Belle had spent time in the nest last night. Saw her eating then settling down a while ago.
It surely is a GLORIOUS am---SUN is shining & the TREES are piled up with!---Someone remarked yesterday that nothing is more beautiful than a 'CARDINAL' in the SNOW!! HOW TRUE!!
MORNIN' HEDGIE & GRANNYBLT!!---WHOA! GRANNYBLT---I would have died to see the SNOWY OWL!!--
....trees are piled with SNOW!
Good to see Candy with us!
Bet Jim and Nilla will both sleep all day after their wee-hours watching!
I didn't take this picture that is my avatar. It was taken of the SNOWY OWL yesterday, I think. It was posted on the PA Bird List. I'll try to put a link here for more pictures for those interested. Well, I couldn't drag a link but here is the address.

THE EAGLE HAS LANDED!!
oUR NEST! wORKING ON THE EGG CUP
Looked away for a moment and there was the eagle!
nOW TWO
Both!
Good morning, everyone.
Beautiful day for Ben's baptism.
Tai Shan practicing his gymnastics in the snow is adorable.
Glad there are no eggs yet at our nest or NBG. Would be so worrysome.
No one brought a shovel :(
MORNIN' AGAIN CANDY!!!---COOL to have you with us!
Hey there NORMA. I have had the site on at school as I thought it was about time for eggs. I don't want them to be in the snow tho.
I wish they would get that egg cup a little less snow packed
MORNIN' JUDIE!---I agree it is a wonderful sunny morning for BEN'S BAPTISM!---
Eating?
One can see she/he must have spent the night on the nest!!!
MEGAN--I can't imagine how many RED CARDINALS you have this am! ho!
Poof!
Just cake and coffee, Lynn, big party was after the plunge yesterday, they had all the plungers back for pizza, we won't stay long, hubby has to go out of town for the rest of the week, leaving tonight....was going to the "b", but they have snow, so maybe later in the week, will see.
oopps, Tai just took a header into the snow off the dead log.
I read the other day that the 'LITTLE PRINCE' will fly FREE with FED-EX!----how cool is that?
Both in nest.
Nestorations.
Poof one.
Good Sunny Sunday Morning to All!
I'm getting antsy about Belle and our 1st egg. Maybe we will record it on Glo's b-day since she missed Megan's.
Really bright out there today. Sure hope all that nest snow melts!
The cam page is recording the temp at 1°
That is Freezing Cold......
Hi, Jo! Good to know someone else is watching.
Good Morning!
Boy is Belle staying close to home.
I see 9 degrees on the cam page. Wonder what that is all about? Still plenty cold. Are we seeing the same page?
I need some major caffeine intake...
Nice and sunny here,
Glad Belle didn't lay one quite yet, nest needs more fluff
And less snow
Any news from LILY BEAR?---Need to check!
Sounds like a snow plow
Mits, sounds low key, which is probably good after yesterday! Too bad you have to postpone your B trip. Is Jay headed anyplace WARM?? You should go with him, if so!!
Norma, Belle came in to the nest in the wee small hours of the morning (always loved that song!) and then left before dawn. But there she is---looking beautiful!
Don't know about the rest of you, but on this netbook, still cam pic is not real big. If I click on view, zoom and then choose a %, I can get a real decent look at our birds.
SHIRLEY---I was thinking the 9° is the temp at the nest?
That is what it says on my nest cam page.
A snow plow just opened my road---I didn't recongize the driver!---but REALLY appreciate it!
Granny, the snow owl pics were good---
thanks! Lovely bird!
Hey, Wanda! There is a restaurant in Hagerstown called GG's! Got a really good review from the Herald secret gourmet. It's on N. Potomac at The Gourmet Goat (GG's is in the back).
right now....weather.com page for Sheps.....
Sunny
23° F
Feels Like: 23° F
Wind: From WNW at 3mph
Details | Webcam Weather Details
Humidity: 37%
Dew Point: 5° F
the nest page is never up to date.....TTYL
Shirley do you have your contacts in?
Seriously, I see 1° on my cam page.
The zip code I have in for the weather is Shepherdstown....... is your's the same? 25443
WHOA! My zip is 34°
That sounds better ........
Thanks for that info about the weather on the live feed page........
Enjoy your day with the family..
Shirley Let's just say that it is too cold to be out and about! lol
Cardinals are abundant out there today.
The egg cup looks pretty clear of the snow.
Don't have contacts in, Jo! They are for distance vision. Trying to show you what I am seeing.
Definitely too cold to be out and about. I stepped on the front porch for a moment. That was enough for me.
Jo, you are not crazy. Wanda said it was 1° around 6:15 this morning
Okay, I have put what I was seeing on my blog. I had to re-install the program to grab the view because it had been removed when they cleaned my disk.
If Wanda said it was 1° at 6:30, then 9 would be about right for now, wouldn't think it warmed up that quick
Lib just arrived!
Both in nest! They need to be very active and get that snow out of there. Looks like a new stick came in.
They are moving a big stick
Egg cup free of snow, but they surely need more fluff
I so love our eagles and am so grateful for the live feed!
I just got the 69th comment. Sorry Margy!
Up to 23 here, as well, Mits. Breezy, and icicles are melting. Glare is terrible---had to close the verticals to the sunroom.
Both were just innest, but now one poofed.
Green of the fluff is pretty.
Today is my friend Ozzie's birthday. He is the one that sent me the link to the cam 4 years ago! Maybe he will get a birthday egg today!
Well Shirley if you have a 9° I want that also.... For the sake of our royal couple
I love the Live Feed - have I told you that recently?
Good Morning Everyone don't want to name cause I know I'll miss someone. Sun is shining here. Didn't look at temp.
Sharon that's a BIG THANK YOU and Happy Birthday to OZZIE !
Jo, I am not sure that 9 degrees is that much better than 1 degree with respect to the welfare of our eagles. We need about 40 degrees so that the snow will melt, and a nice amount of sunshine to warm it up.
I have a 9° on mine too Jo. Hit F5 and refresh your page perhaps!
Does anyone elses's sound stop and start again?
I did that Sharon and no0thing changed Then I entered Middletown and Frederick zips and got new numbers that seemed correct.
It is what it is.... not to worry!
Just watching our eagles......
MT NEST
belle up and flew off to the right
weather.com says 20° for here, guess it's that there also. Sure sounds like they are wrong now, with Lynn reporting in at 23
My sound is good this morning, Dana. Sometimes the feed does seem to pause.
MT nest.
Live feed is wonderful, Jo. We would have missed so much without it.
Thanks Paula for letting me know that.
Just finished looking a Bob Quinnn's pics. I truly love that man's slideshows. What captures...see that fire now that worried me.
What an entrance with building supplies lol
Lib back with a stick
Fluff, we need fluff!
Should we send you up there with fluff, Paula?
Burning some firewood here today. Feels nice and toasty in here.
I hope they are gathering some fluff now, but I wonder how easy it is to find much fluff with the ground covered with snow.
Eagle Alert!!
Going to take a break.
BBL.
The plane The plane
They need more fluff in that nest.
I would gladly bring up the fluff if it wouldn't disturb her!
Good morning everyone. It's a cold day in H-town, but the roads have been cleared and are all melted. Just hoping it warms up a few degrees before our first egg appears.
Norma! How could anyone forget Spunky? It was our hopes and dreams for him that brought this community together.
What year was Spunky?
Okay, I googled Spunky. Am reading now.
Lib back with another stick
Spunky was 2006, he was the youngest eaglet
I found a very nice story about Spunky by googling. His story was well-documented with music and pictures.
I see they are working on the egg cup now.
Well that sound riled up the dogs :)
Good afternoon all! I see we have two eagles in our nest, bet there is an egg by morning!!
They have cleared out a bit more of the snow around the cup.
Tom is laying carpet in the living room and the house is all upside down again! I need a bed something fierce, but it is covered in TVs and stuff! I have a sinus infection or something and I DO NOT LIKE IT SAM I AM!!!!
It's 27 ° here
Trying to read yesterday's paper--fix food & watch the nest---ho!
IS THAT NOT THE MOST AWESOME PIC OF BELLE & LIBERTY????
MEGAN---It is 30° here---hard to believe!
Stronghunter: The Spunky year was the first year that we all came together to watch the nest. From what several of us had read, it was rare for a third eaglet to survive. And as our nest has proved again, a third eaglet is not an impossibility!!
Thanks, Sunny, and thanks Paula for the info about Spunky. Would have enjoyed being around then.
Shirley, were you reading Spunky stuff on Glos' site For the Love of Eagles?
Sissy, so sorry oyu are feeling badly. Please get yourself to the doctor! This is your nurse giving orders!
New carpet---how nice!
I googled. I think it was Glo's, though. I will see if I can find it again. Wasn't there just HP?
Spunky
It is Glo's. Very nicely done.
Hard to believe this is the 3rd season that I've watched! I was such a sad bundle of crying nerves watching the smallest eaglet....did not know the facts then and thought Belle was deliberately not feeding Tiny! But thanks to all of the smart people here, I soon learned so much!!

The Flag Day part is on there!
Great close up of Lady Norfolk (if that's her name). She stood up and moved fluff. Seems more snow in cup- area that edges. That should melt I guess w/body warmth.
Eagle in our nest still. Wonder if there's an egg race!!!
**************************
GOOD MORNING
TO YOU aLL.
**************************
There seems to be something going on at Norfolk too. Both in nest.
[:~D]
Jim
Looks like an egg at NBG!!!
She was standing w/tail to left & white ball in front of her. Wish I had been faster for a capture!
Congrats to NBG!!! Their chat definitely indicates an egg.
Got a pic of new NBG Egg~~~put it on Blogspot! Now, come on Belle!!!
They are saying 2:16 PM.
Some blogger asked if they could mate IN the nest........obviously have never watched our pair!
How funny!
Oh, yes, Loretta, you got a great shot!!! TY! Such a beautiful nest and cam views, not to mention lovely birds and now an egg!
The chat stuff there jumps all around next to cam, so I mostly turn it off--distracting to me.
They reall zoomed in after I first saw it. Wasn't fast enough punching buttons. The male had been in nest, too, just before & went out on his usual perch.I got a pic of the 2 of them, but egg is important! They had zoomed out then.
Can't spell (type).
NN- beautiful pic of NBG first egg!
Can our be far behind? Glo you just may get that egg for your b-day!
Nice pic, Loretta!
Roads here covered with snow. I am expecting closed schools tomorrow.
NBG eagle just changed position on the egg and such a clear view with their zoom.
There is definitely an egg at Norfolk.
It almost looks like she laid it in the snow though. We'll see.
She must not have had much warning, and they didn't get very much thawing or fluff-lining done.
I saw the egg very clearly though. No doubt.
[:~D]
Jim
COol, NBG just had an egg roll. Great cam, love that zoom feature.
Awesome! Egg at Norfolk!!
I was trouble shooting my video capture program...couldn't get it to record...all fixed now...ready to record Belle laying an egg!
Just saw the egg at NBG....beautiful!
Belle is standing so tall--almost looks like she's watching for food delivery!!
Belle Poofed!
belle just took off
Glad you are ready, Paula because it's got to be soon - like Feb 1
I hope I hope!
I need to check out Ft St Vrain - they were in line with our nests here on east coast - I think!
I wonder what ME is going to do.....
Too many nests to check on once again this year. I really am concentrating on West Virginia nest.
Paula, that's great! Now she'll have to lay when you're watching!! ☺
Gotta get stuff done & go to grocery......
No eagles in the ME nests
No nesting eagles at Ft St Vrain nest.
Dunedin Osprey's incubation is on day
33 Soon there will be chicks........
Lots of pretty cardinals at the feeder on USeeWildlife.com
Eagle back in the nest
Looking good!
Snow off your gh?
Do you feel a day older ?
Ha I feel years older....GH is looking good now, that sun really helped.
belle is in out in out
Now munching on a nestover
eating leftovers in the nest
Strange that you feel older as you don't look a day over 29. Seriously - just keep wearing that flower behind your ear....
Megan - Paula
Did you notice a dark mark at the top of her beak towards the left side (facing her) ?
Nice to see the snow melting quickly in our nest
Gee thanks:)
Didn't notice any spot, Jo.
That's the problem with BWE nest - in the summer it is shady but right now it doesn't need the shade.....
Next time Belle comes - look hard at the top of her beak (closest to her eye) I may just have a dirty spot on my glasses.
Headed out to WallyMart.
BBILW
Congratulations to the NBG eagles.
Loretta, you are JOHNNY ON THE SPOT! What a beautiful shot of NBG egg...you go girl! Hope you are around when Belle gives us an egg:)
And also, Paula with her new video program thingy:)
Now, in re to the temp. listed on the Outdoor Site...says 9°. It is 34° at our house and 30° at the airport. Take your pick:) LOL
Eagle in the nest with long long fluff...yay
guess their temp gauge is stuck!
And belle just arrived
Beautiful color on our still cam:)
Belle has found a morsel of leftover who-knows-what.
Was that fluff, Paula...looked like a tumbleweed:)
I think I am blushing...HP was WOW!
Still cam didn't pick it up...just got the end of it...
I guess they are making sure there are enough fertilized eggs to start their family:)
Belle just left...done for the night?
Cool, I should have the HP, was down doing laundry
Oh boy, i did get it...
Belle still there, must have been Lib leaving.
Supper ready here...BBL
I think that's still Belle in the nest
Put it up, Paula...it was a goody. LOL
Now to figure out how to do the video, been taking them, haven't gone thru and processed one yet.
Lib makes a real low growl almost, that's the sign...interesting
A couple of things I found out today:
1) When our live feed times out, instead of punching the reload or restore buttons, just click on the play button at the bottom. Much faster.
2) At NBG every time I accidentally run my cursor over the picture, the picture disappears. And I was spending a lot of time either going to full screen or clicking on reload. Now, I found out if you just put your cursor on the scroll bar and move it a little, the picture comes right back ... instantly.
I don't know if you have had the same problems, but if so, try these cures.
C(°?°)3
Jim
Jim, if you let the feed sit too long after it's stopped, you have to refresh the whole page, just an fyi
Think Lib owes her a nice fresh fish after that one
Hi everyone. Just checking in and in time to see more hp. Thought it be time for an egg.
Beuatiful eagles at NFB and even an egg. Looks like a change of the guard at NBG now.
Is anyone else getting frustrated with the NCTC cam? I love the live cam but get tired of constantly refreshing and then again in 29 seconds. JMHO
She is really tending to that fluff
Nana, the cam should run for 10 minutes and 30 seconds....it's not doing that for you?
We're just gonna have to live with refreshing, many cams do it, to save bandwidth. I love the live feed, just wish I could figure out why it slows my computer down so much.
Lib just came back
Ya she is really Home cleaning today.. I cant understand why Liberty just mated with her again.. Is that usual or to help get her started for Laying ?
I see that both of our eagles are at the nest.
Nana, I sometimes have to refresh after 10 minutes, 30 seconds, but haven't had real problems with the cam.
Now they have poofed.
Looks like we could have bad weather on Tuesday and again at the weekend. At least the nest is pretty clear of snow right now.
I hope you had a great B-Day, Megan.
C(°?°)3
Jim
NBG i see that from time to time on here is that Live Cam and if so were is it Located at and whats the Web Site..?/ Thx Mark
Mark, the mating (HP!) will continue until Belle let's him know that there are no more eggs waiting!!
Did you see my note yesterday telling you that I had left links to MBG and BWE on Fri. evening blog?
Norfolk Botanical Garden nest (NBG)
NBG
It is in Norfolk, VA.
Guess we could ask Lib why he keeps up the HP?
So he keeps up the HP until the lady says no. Hedgie's answer sounds more scientific than mine.
Just got the message. My school will be closed tomorrow.
OK, Mark. Thanks, Megan and Shirley.
Here's BWE again:
BWE
Good timing for school, Shirley....you can stay up all night watching the cam!!
