Have done half a tray (70) slides. Warming up dinner...turkey and dressing, but making mashed potatoes. Will do the other half after dinner.

Cub is up again. Poor Lily

ceil said...

Snowing a little at bear cam. Cub is really squealing.

Lolly said...

Well, Ceil, all parents have to go through it. lol One of my nephews had a new son last week. Just today he commented on the baby waking up every two hours in the night. Been there done that.

Lolly said...

Back to working on dinner.

stronghunter said...

Been there done that with twins.

Mema Jo said...

I congratulate Lord and Lady Blackwater on their second egg! Love the picture! I can't remember any year that they have had more than two.

hedgie said...

Lolly.....are you having fun with the slides? I ended up with just over 400. Only did the family/close friends/special occasions. Did not do the scenic travel slides-----there's probably 2000 of them! Still have not figured out how to burn the DVD.......very frustrating.

hedgie said...

And, of course, they only went thru' '69--Daddy passed in Jan. '70--and then everything was photographs thereafter.

A recent update on Lily on the Bear Den Cam gives info about the ordering of the t-shirts.

Mema Jo said...

Looks to be snowing at Lily's den

Lolly said...

Oh, Lynn, we have around 40 trays of slides, 140 pictures on each tray. (Carousel) That is not counting the dozen of trip carousels. I accidently started on trips. Did just one and now I am on tray 4 of everyday pics. Only 36 more to go! I figure it is going to take the rest of my lifetime.

Wish I could help you on the burning of dvd's. We did one as an experiment. The pictures are on it, I can see them on the computer, but the dvd player would not show them on tv. Gotta work that out. Maybe when it comes time to do that I can get my SIL to help me.

But, yes, it is fun. Gee, I was young and skinny. ha!

Lolly said...

Jo, they have the t-shirts on www.bear.org

I have ordered my "Held Captive by Lily" shirt.

Lolly said...

Back to the slides.

I'm itching for spring !
Found a croquet set at Goodwill for five bucks, well it has five out of six mallets, four out of six croquet balls, seven wickets and a cool little cart with wheels.
I think I can make it work !

The Nest Reports today, were, uh, very descriptive !

Hope the rest of the evening goes well for everyone...I'm going to settle in for some reading.

I think Jo has beat most of us when it comes to child raising.

stronghunter said...

I don't have slides, just boxes of photographs.

stronghunter said...

I think it is time to remove the contact lenses. Getting a little uncomfortable.

stronghunter said...

Good night. Take care, everbody.

hedgie said...

Goodnight, my fine fowl friends. It's been a long day, and I'm ready for a good nights' sleep. See you tomorrow!
Prayers and peace.

Lolly said...

Tray num 4 is finished, then Jack and I looked at a digital slide show together. Fun! More tomorrow, maybe!!!

Funny thing tonight. On the Lily fb and girl asked for help taking pics. I sent her directions directly through the inbox. We sent messages back and forth through our in boxes. She finally got it solved. I wished her luck and asked where she was from. Would you believe WV? Weirton, WV. I had to laugh! Anyway, she now has the link to our cam. Do not know if she will get on or not. Shannon is her name.

Lynn, do not know about you, but I have been getting a neck pain working on these slides. Have ice on it right now.

I am getting off and reading before bed. Really like the kindle!

Night all! God bless!

I was over in FB - Listen to this--
Diane Robey Flanagan: A bald eagle nest in Leesburg, VA...10 mins from my house!
She has 5 pics of the nest tree and the adult eagle is visible.
Diane had come up for one of our nest visits a few years ago.

Had a really nice family birthday get together for 2 yo Brensin. Ajay's family and John's family...so then we hung around for awhile and 12 of us...Me, Kids, brothers and their kids went to dinner in Gettysburg. A really nice day! Michael and I were so stuffed, we layed like beach whales on the sofas and watched a movie. He is off to bed, tomorrow he goes back to school. I am really going to miss him, it's been so nice having him home!

paula eagleholic said...

I'll have to get on FB and chat with Diane! I know she was talking about looking for the nest the other day with the dog, and I recall you mentioning it as well, Jo. Thanks for the update!

Costume Lady said...

Would this be the DIANE that came to open house two years ago, with an agenda about one of the battlefields being turned into townhouses? She passed out some literature to us in the Eagle Express.
Just checked in on Lily and little Bearly was yelling his head off, I'd know that cry anywhere!:)
Thought I saw the cub and tried to take a pic., but my computer froze and had to reboot:(
Hitting the Sheetz now...

GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS

Happy B'Day to Brensin, who will be having a little sister in a few months:)

Costume Lady said...

They are out to breakfast now...hope they bring it back to the nest. They had a very interesting meal yesterday...don't know what it was, but Belle devoured it all, while Lib sat up in a branch and watched her. Oh, what he will do for LOVE;)

Costume Lady said...

They just came back with some materials, I think fluff. Really working on making the bedroom comfy. Going to have to spend a lot of time there, pretty soon:)

Costume Lady said...

Guess where Lib is right now? Yep, in the bedroom:)

hedgie said...

Both still in our nest! Loverly.

wvgal_dana said...

Darn didn't get a pic forgot I didn't have the still cam up grrrr me

grannyblt said...

I think I caught a little "bonding" on the cam a few minutes ago.....

wvgal_dana said...

Liberty just took a dive out of the nest. You could see him flying from near the tree with tape all the way down towards the lower ground out towards bldgs. Beautiful flight.

hedgie said...

A BIG Thank You to Miss Norma---I received her check "sharing" the cost of mailing the Deb calendars that she insisted on sending----she payed well more than half!!! Miss Sneaky! Thank you, dear lady!!

wvgal_dana said...

Good Morning Grannyblt and yes you did.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

That is why I like the position of the cam, because we can see them flying in or out sometimes.

wvgal_dana said...

Yes Hedgie-Lynn I had ask you about that. At the time and still I'm waiting for SS and Ed's pension. I prayed someone would help out with that. BIG BIG THANKS FOR NORMA for doing that. Prayers do get answered ( :

wvgal_dana said...

Good Eagle Morning Sharon. Yes it was a beautiful flight. I certainly agree with you on that!

wvgal_dana said...

Is the only way you all get the live feed to continue on is to refresh it?

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Good morning Dana. It is so good to see you on here!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I SO love my eaglet momsters!

wvgal_dana said...

I see Liberty has come back into the nest so both are there again.

Sharon my nerves are a train wreck.

Good Morning Eagle Pals..

magpie said...

Wanda
can't remember that lady's first name I think she was from Shepherdstown, said if she started blogging with us she would blog as
Red Hot or Red Hawk or something like that, I might remember her first name one of these days...
the lady who came to the EE on the nest visit same time as Diane did

wvgal_dana said...

Margy good Eagle Morning to you too lady.

Do you have to go in today?

magpie said...

I got here too late to see the "bonding"

wvgal_dana said...

I get about 10 minutes of play out of live feed then have to refresh or same thing hit the eaglecam spot.

Is that all the time you all get?

magpie said...

Not so far Dana, unless they run short on staff for some reason but I would have been called by now...
I think...

T-Bird said...

Yes Dana, for sure getting my eagle fix. : )

stronghunter said...

Good morning. I've been enjoying watching our eagles.

Went to take out the contacts last night and could not find the right one. Either it popped out or it's stuck up in a corner somewhere. As long is it isn't bothering me, I won't worry too much. I think the doctor is in on Tuesday.

I am just glad I have my glasses.

hedgie said...

Yep, Dana, have to refresh live cam sometimes, but often it jsut freezes for about 12 seconds.
Blueberry pancakes onthe griddle!!

stronghunter said...

I didn't see the "bonding" either.

When I had all the troubles with my computer, one of the ladies in the tech group teasingly asked me if I had been watching porn sites. I don't think eagle bonding counts as porn, but I've not seen it live, either! I did see Paula's video.

magpie said...

I managed to see it "for real" one time yesterday I think Shirley...
and yes, my cam starts and stops a lot too, and it takes awhile to post a comment

Trusting that all that will get worked out I figure we are still in the "Bug" stage, or the site is way too advanced for my computer

Best Wishes for a great day, let me slip that one in...

A belated happy birthday to Norma's Lisa, and happy birtday to Cayden

magpie said...

good one Shirley, on the porn peeking ☺

normabyrd said...

HAPPY! HAPPY #2 BIRTHDAY CAYDEN!!
ENJOY your day GRANNY!!

stronghunter said...

Speaking of porn, several years ago, two of my ninth graders thought it was funny to write the words "monkey porn" on a locker (in permanent marker). I walked up on them just as one was saying, marker in hand, "I wonder who they will think did it?" For years after that, my children would go into hysterical laughter whenever anyone said those words. They probably still would.

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' T-BIRD & MITS!!

Mits said...

cam runs for 10 mins 30 seconds, to the left just hit the play button, then I think after 30 mins or so, you have to completely refresh, but not always, it really slows down my computer, so I don't have it up unless I'm on the puter and someone says there are eagles there...

magpie said...

I've also noticed when I have live cam up for NCTC the still cam refreshes are a little delayed...

Well, I'm happy to see them in the nest, one at at time or both

gotta shuffle along here now,
back later
TTFN xo ☺ ♥

stronghunter said...

Which one is in the nest? That was a lonely call.

normabyrd said...

That is such an AWESOME EAGLE in the nest---so stately--ignoring the blowing wind!!--Just heard a SQUAWK!

I do remember DIANN now:) Could the other ladies name be ELLEN?

glo said...

Good morning all. I have posted a photo of mine published from todays local paper along with an extensive article on the status of Bald Eagles this year,on my Glo's Glimpses Blog

Are Bald Eagles in danger

Of course I like the photos and am happy to see it there, but note they are juvies. That is the scariest part to me. The article is definitely worth the read as well.

We who love them must never ever let this happen to them again NEVER!!

Judie said...

Good morning, everyone.

Rainy here this a.m. Missed Belle & Lib but hear rain at our nest.

Checked on Diego. Playing outside while Mom eats.

Lily sleeping with cub making nice noises.

BW eggs covered for now.

stronghunter said...

Hi, Judie.

stronghunter said...

Eagle in our nest.

floralgirl said...

No rain at the nest yet, just windy.

hedgie said...

Wanda, know you are gone....but if you catch up later---don't recall that lady's name, just that she was with the Audubon Society in S'town area.
Glo, going to read article. Wow--you are published again!!

Lolly said...

Good morning! Is that eagle sitting in the egg cup?

stronghunter said...

How long after mating does it usually take for an eagle to lay an egg?

stronghunter said...

Our eagle is up against the tree.

Lolly said...

My view had stopped and I did not realize it. But, the picture I saw had the eagle sitting in the egg cup. Not yet, Belle!!!!

floralgirl said...

I think from 5 to 10 days after.

stronghunter said...

So you all saw hp on Wednesday, as I recall. Of course, we do not know if it might have happened before then, so we could have eggs any day, really.

glo said...

Hedgie well yes. Its interesting that both have to do with threatened and endangered species. I had no idea when they called about publishing that picture earlier this week that they were actually going to do a Front page article on the status of the Bald Eagle as well. Folks here of course have been very concerned about the change in numbers we have seen this whole season. You can't deny what "Isn't there :-( " just need to know why and if its human cause we need to correct it right now, not gloss over it.

stronghunter said...

They really seem to be spending a lot of time in the nest.

stronghunter said...

So true, Glo.

glo said...

Yes we could have eggs any day now. I always vote for my Birthday LOL. Which is very soon. I check that nest before going to bed every night now to see if Belle is sitting there. If so its time for Labor and Delivery watch NOT sleep.

Lolly said...

Read just a little of this mornings comments. Need to get ready for church.

Just wanted to say good morning and have a great Sunday!

Mema Jo said...

Good Morning to All! I am waiting for the rain drops! Norma you best get the sand bags out!
Read all comments and you have had a busy morning at our nest.

hedgie said...

From FB:
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CRITTERCAM and WILDCAM:
From now onwards I will man the cams less, as I have to finish up things here, say my goodbyes (tot ziens) to friends and pack my things. It means the cam will be on autopan more than usual from now on. Saturday the 30th will be my last working day at the pond and I will say my "tot ziens" to you around 17h00 PP time. ...I'll leave Botswana on 1 February. Afke @ Pete's Pond

Mema Jo said...

WOW I wonder what the auto cam will be like at the pond. Lynn - I hope Chrissy can get wind of this.

Mema Jo said...

Lynn I think Diane would let us bring over the Leesburg Eagle Nest Tree.
I ask her on FB....... If yes, would you put them in your Blog?

Mema Jo said...

I'm thinking that Lib & Belle's first egg will come on the 28th. I wish they could wait until 2/1 Glo's b-day but maybe the 2nd egg would be then.
I am just looking at last years' egg laying date of BWE and our first egg date. 8 days difference...

Mema Jo said...

OK heading for my street clothes before lunchtime.

BBILW

hedgie said...

Yes, Jo, I'll put them on my blog!
So are we going to set up an "egg watch" schedule for the next week-10 days??? Wish to goodness I could keep live feed open all the time.... :(
But I can do still---if we had assigned shifts of a couple of hours, whoever sees the action could shout the alert!

Mema Jo said...

Eagle at the Hornby nest - windy as usual there.

Mema Jo said...

Sidney nest is MT except for a small black bird out on one of the limbs. Looks like new fluff in the nest...

Mema Jo said...

Mema Jo said...

Hedgie - that is a good idea. Our best clue is when Belle spends the night in the nest. We are up to the point now of Lib feeding Belle in the nest.
