* Good Morning Everyone * and Happy Mother's Day to all.

Jim - you keep me posted on the hummingbirds, because for some reason it is not a friendly site here on my computer anymore.

I saw the two eggs at Finland Land overnight, but can hardly ever see the ones at Nauvo. Only if someone like Suzanne gets a capture and sends it along ☺

Hope it is a great Sunday day for all.

xo ☺

Happy Mothers Day Good Morning to Everyone!
Lovely day out today. Looks like baby Hidey is snoozing.

Lolly said...

Just had to come back to say I just saw Mom feed the two eaglets at the Maine2 nest. Cool!

Bye again!!!!

movin said...

Magpie, re: the Hummer picture.

You might need the free update of the Flash Player.

To check, just right click on the Hummer screen. It should say Adobe F.P. 10. If it doesn't, just click on "About ...." and it will take you to the site to download the latest, which only takes a minute.

Our house wren(s) have returned also. Last year I documented the family saga at the birdhouse in my sweetbay magnolia tree close to deck. We also have a house out front in the crabapple. Had a family in that one too last year. The fussbudget here now has been going to BOTH trees. Hasn't decided where to settle but chases all the larger birds out of the magnolia!

NatureNut said...

Park eagle nest report----stopped near almost invisible nest yesterday PM. While creeping between some trees to get a view of sorts, saw an adult fly in to the nest! When I could see some of the nest, part was covered by green leaves, so couldn't see whole birds (some brown blobs) or much of the action.I was hoping to maybe see some branching, but did see flapping in the nest.

normabyrd said...

Well, I am completing one year as a Momsters, because I remember when Loretta was posting about the Resident Wrens last year, story and pictures ☺

Brown Blobs, yep, that's what baby eaglets look like a lot of the time.

Time to get ready for the day, going to pick up the grandson for a double grammy visit (his "real" maternal one and Me- the Step-maternal one)

Wonderful Day Wishes to Everyone.

Thanks, Jim - for your Adobe tip, will have to try that later one ☺

Mits said...

yes it does...

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL MOMSTERS!Getting a late start today....recuperatimg from busy last few days! Slept in a little and then took my time reading papers.
Shuttle launch scheduled for 2pm Monday....don't imagine we'll be able to see it here during the daylight. Too bad. They had some lovely shots of it on the launch pad on CBS Sunday Morning show...took pics of it...will see how they turned out when I download!
Hope everyone has a lovely day! I'll be hanging around, off and on!

deb said...

Going to try mowing again.

deb said...

I got further this time, now I wait for more to dry out. :(

hedgie said...

Mei looks like she is quite comfortable even tho' it's an awkward looking position......come on, girl, give us a cub!!

hedgie said...

Chowing down on pieces of her bamboo blanket!!! Probably NOT an encouraging sign, huh, Mits?

hedgie said...

My ((((hugs)))) to Paula, too, on this difficult day. We love you, gal, and are thinking about you.

Mits said...

well she is eating some and using some for nesting material, Lynn, but I have no gut feeling either way, she acted like this the last 2 years, so "it is what it is"

Mits said...

I remeber the 1st Mom's day without my Mom, could not go into the card stores, think I let hubby get the card for his mom that year.

hedgie said...

That it is, Mits! C'est la vie. We can only hope!

deb said...

I had almost a full year to adjust to Mother's Day, but that last one was the worst, knowing it was the last one.

Mits said...

yes Deb, sure that was really rough.

Mits said...

well hubby just left on his way back to Dallas.

deb said...

Hidey is flapping away!

deb said...

That was a short weekend for him, does he get tired of traveling all the time?

hedgie said...

I still feel very sad on Fathers' Day, Mits. Wish so much that he had lived to know his granddaughters and great gd's, too.

deb said...

Mei is in a weird position.

Mits said...

yes, Deb,he does, but has been doing it for many years, so we are both used to it. he will be in Boston next month and in Chicago for 2 weeks in July, thinking I will fly out for the in between weekend then, someone says they can get us Cubs tickets, would love to see the Cubbies play

Mits said...

yes Lynn, miss Dad too. He would go wild over the M&M girls

hedgie said...

Always special Dad/Granddad bonds with girls!
Chicago in July....probably not as bad as DC!!! Cool breezes off the lake, I imagine.

deb said...

That would be fun. I was almost done mowing and my neighbor had to come outside and smoke his dumb cigars. You would think he would catch on. He comes out to smoke, I go in. :(

deb said...

The Cubs game is what I was referring to as fun, always forget you can't read my mind!

Redoubt Update:
The 2009 eruption of Redoubt continues. Seismicity has been at low levels over the past several days. The growing lava dome at the summit may be increasingly unstable. An explosive event could occur with little or no warning.

deb said...

Rock falls continue from the lava dome. Hut webcam views showed incandescence at the dome again last night between approximately 11:30 pm on May 9th and 3 am May 10. The source of the incandescence is hot lava dome material which is exposed as blocks of the lava dome slough off in rock falls.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Good afternoon everyone. Glad to be back home. I haven't gotten to see Andrew yet today but he gets off work at 6 so I will see him shortly after that. All 4 of my four-legged children are tickled to have me back home. Thelma and Buddy are on their way back to Bedford. Andrew dog-sat for us and Buddy got loose yesterday morning and was gone for about 2 1/2 hours. I was scared to death. Didn't even tell Thelma about it until Buddy came back home.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Happy Mother's Day again to everyone. I am really missing my mommy today!

NatureNut said...

OK Everybody. Is Hidey in the smudge spot??? Think I see some toes near 5-6 o'clock

Haooy Mother's Day all!

Gabriela said...

LOL - I meant to type Happy not Haooy!!!

NatureNut said...

Oh thank you so much, Gabriela. I was ready to call out the troops!

Mema Jo said...

It has been a very lovely day for me and for everyone else I am hoping. Took me a while to find Hidey!!!!!! My heart skipped a couple of beats until I saw the dark wing stretch out behind the adult.

Hornby chicks are alone at the nest.
Looks like big sis is taking care of little bro!

NatureNut said...

Love your dog! I probably mentioned before that we had an all white Samoyed. He was a house dog because we got him as a small pup right before Xmas--too cold to stay out. We had 2 other similar dogs previously, but they weren't purebred.

Mema Jo said...

WOW! Hornby adult flew in with food just after the smallest eaglet did a poop shoot. The sound of the wings coming down was awesome. Lots of chirping now going on with the feeding. Can't ID what it is for dinner...

NatureNut said...

Happy Mom's Day again Jo.
Also thinking of Paula & hope she is w/her kids.

Mema Jo said...

Windy up at our nest - Hidey in full view with adult.

Mema Jo said...

Both cam views working now and are very clear in Oklahoma. Feeding time there also.

ceil said...

So cute. Both chicks at Hornby got feed. Think the food is something with bones. Beautiful when the parent flys in at that nest.

Gabriela said...

Thank you! Leonidas (Leo for short) is a white german shepherd x. I think he is part Great Pyrenees (double dew claws, long soft hair). He was my foster for 6 months. I could not bear to part with him so i adopted him. He's 2 1/2 years old, we think.

NatureNut said...

Hornby is just too cute!

Well, I had this thought while I was out:

Thanks to all the wonderful Mothers that brought all you great and special people onto the planet! And thanks for the Dads that played a big part too !

I'm sorry for the sadness that goes with this kind of day, and on birthdays, and things. My mother died in 1993 so it has been a little while. I miss her, and am always proud of myself when a big part of her comes through in my personality.

For example, she liked to say, Thank you ever so much -

so, my friends, Thank you ever so much, for your friendship ! ♥ I had a blessed afternoon with my grandson and his other grandmother and one other person.

Time for my pre-midnight nap, only have six hours on this return shift, so I guess it won't be too bad.

Prayers for wellness, safe travels, peace, and comfort xo ☺ ♥

Good evening! Hope everyone has had a pleasant day. Laurel and family left several hours ago. We had fun! They tried NOT to make me laugh and start coughing. Oh, I sound awful when I cough. Laurel and boys had birdfeeder for me that they made. It is really cute I'll have to take a picture of it. First I have to find a place to hang it.

One of the humming birds hatched. Have been watching it some. So tiny!

Lolly said...

Whoops! Jack just invited me outside. Can not pass that up!

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, I see I missed Lynn's birthday yesterday, duh!

Happy Birthday Lynn!

deb said...

Thanks, Lynn. I was so surprised to look over and see it. It was about 10 feet away from me. I had never seen one in these colors, just a juvie at the Christmas Bird Count.

paula eagleholic said...

And Dana too!

Happy Birthday Dana!

Lolly said...

We had a beautiful day. We have the house open. We turned on the AC Friday as it was getting so warm and humid, and had it on for the first time at night. But yesterday it cooled off. Heat and humidity are coming back this week.

We were thinking of you today Paula. Know it must have been rather hard this your first Mother's Day without.....

Lolly said...

Deb....enjoyed looking at your pictures as well. You are quite the wildlife photograhper!! Your pictures are right up there!

Lolly said...

Hummer is off her nest!!!

Lolly said...

Well, she is back on the nest.

paula eagleholic said...

Lolly, it was hard, but nice to be at my Mom's today ♥

deb said...

Thanks, Lolly.

I have had a long weekend, so I am heading to bed and read. Night everyone.

hedgie said...

I saw that feathery stick, too, Paula, before I shut down cam for the night (before Spidey could make an appearance!). Interesting!
Thanks, Paula...it was Dana's b-d, too.

Yes, Lolly, in the woods for sure!!
I'll get a pic of the house up tomorrow.

Lolly said...

That would be great! I would love to be in a really wooded area. We have trees, but big trees are rare around here.

hedgie said...

Goodnight, Deb....hope you have a good work-week.

Lolly said...

I go around and tell my trees how much I appreciate them. LOL We have some big oaks, but we have also lost quite a few. We planted pecan trees 35 years ago and every time we loose an oak we plant new ones.

paula eagleholic said...

Lolly, do you sell the nuts or keep them? My Grandma always used to shell them and send my Mom bags of pecans for her holiday baking.

paula eagleholic said...

Gnite Deb.

paula eagleholic said...

Nice pics Lynn, your beds look nice. Would love to see a pic of your house, too!

Lolly said...

Jack shells them and then we bag and freeze. Laurel has them in her freezer as ours is full.

Last year we did not get pecans but the year before we had 43 gallon bags of pecans.

We give as gifts. Do not see any.

paula eagleholic said...

Nice pics, Deb.

Mits said...

BWE update...

Nest Update

05/11/09:
At night we sometimes see only one eaglet lying in the nest. It's likely the other eaglet (probably Chesapeake) is roosting in the tree with a parent.

Lolly said...

That is "sell"!

paula eagleholic said...

Yum, nice gifts Lolly! How come you didn't get any last year?

paula eagleholic said...

Thanks, Lolly, took me a couple minutes to figure that out! LOL

I wanted to drop in and say HAPPY MOTHERS DAY even though it is late.

I know it is getting late. Sorry I haven't been in yesterday evening or today. Others things have been happening that "ONLY GOD CAN CARRY" while myself, relatives and friends of a wonderful married couple can only shade "TEARS". They lost their 1st child at full term. Last night 10PM. The baby is a girl. Rear...blood cloth in the cord.

My heart has been very heavy. For our nephew and his wife. He said "I got my girl" and she is beautiful..... So sad.

Mema Jo said...

Dana - prayers for them and those who love them.

Lolly said...

Pecan crops vary every year. Last year was very dry at the wrong time. The year before we had a LOT of rain. Also, for some reason the squirrel population was down. LOL Jack uses a low voltage wireing system and circles each of the trees with two wires. Will not injure a squirrel but discurages them from climbing the trees.

wvgal_dana said...

Thank you Jo I just can't stop crying. In time I will I know.
