Megans pet sure has a mangled ear. Someone has been chewing on it. Did you know that possums gestation period is the shortest of any mammal in he USA (11-14 days) It is also a marsupial and the newborns find their way to mothers pouch.
Missed the bucket truck, but sure have a loverly view of an eagle in the nest!!! Maine is just black! Maybe their blizzard is raging again. Deb, so sorry about your sis....how painful that is...I speak from experience! My "accidents" all happen at home, too! It was 11° here at 7am...brrrr...up to 22° now. Megan, love your visitor! 02/24/09: Technical Note: The PC issue may have been the only problem with the Osprey Cam, but we're not sure yet.
We plan to send the bucket truck up soon anyway to prepare the nest for our ospreys, which will be coming back in about 3 weeks. So when the truck goes up, we'll check the cam and the connections at the nest.
PH 26 still sitting in nestbowl. The way she has been eating looks like a pretty good nest to be keeping an eye on.
Eagle story still stinks to high heaven arghh!!! Go picket and make a scene!!! Yep it might disturb the eagles but heck they are destroying their ome and family today anyway.
Glo, I sent your photos to my daughter, Denise, and she chose the deer tracking through the snow, just as I did as a favorite. Like mother like daughter:) Also sent them to my grandson, Brandon, and he said "awsome". He is a true bird lover!
she sure did get some nice shots....this happened last year, looked like they were going to stay, and osprey came back home, it is their nest, and kicked them out, then had troubles with their eggs and no one was in the nest.
Yep, Red- my possum buddy has some serious issues- he definitley got into a fight with someone- has a gash on his face and his ear is messed up. Maybe the one of stupid cats that are always all over my yard. I don't mind possums-they are actually very timid, eat small rodents, including moles, and slugs, bugs, etc. He's a keeper, wish he wouldn't eat my birdseed, but it's just because it's cold right now and hard to find food.
Great commenting...ty I'm caught up..was slow going a couple of days. Read a few then off again and back to bed. "Remember me saying I woke up with frog in throat. Not well enough to go out anywhere though. Got it Monday and down since.
I did take time to do a few things when I could then would shut down computer.
I think of Dr. Sharpe's hard work. When I read about Fish and Wildlife of Annapolis making such a BAD DECISION!!! Yes they did cut some limbs...take the darn tree down and put the EGGS IN THE OLD TREE ON FROG MORTAR CREEK!! With that tree down and the eggs in the other nest. The eagles will incubate there. Where Martin Airport had no problem with the Eagles.
I wrote Governor of Md., Fish and Wildlife of Annapolis and another place. I'm too late I know probably wouldn't have helped anyways.. JERKS :(

Well, the wind has gone away, it's a little warmer, low tide with plenty of landing spots, but no great birds! Did see one bluebird out the window. Will have to scout other windows by River & check some areas after work. I've got some pancake & sausage breakfasts in freezer!!!!Solves the dinner problem! Hooray! Later...☺ ☺ ☺
I think that sorta set their mindset towards tearing down the nest,Loretta, but should have done that mouths ago.....got my pancakes and sausage for tonight.....love an easy dinner:)
Hey. Sorry I've been negligent in dropping by. Hope everyone is doing well. Haven't taken any BW pictures worth posting in a long time. Maybe this weekend. I might have a couple of extra days off.

OK, I read the nest observations on the TH nest, and she laid 1st on 2/18, and according to Paula's report, they first saw the second on the morning of Saturday, 2/21.

I thought you could get fined for disturbing a nest,,,,oh, if you are in charge guess you can do what you want:(
That is just outrageous!! Just cannot believe that they would do this, especially with eggs in the nest!!!
"Government" can do anything they want and get away with it.....I, too, hope they peck him to pieces.
I guess since they are not on the endangered list anymore, this is okay, huh? They keep doing this and they will be back on the endangered list.
I hear ya, Sissy:(
breezy up in MAINE.

Eagle flew out- our nest.
MY feed is freezing so badly- think eagle flew out cause saw empty nest on one screen- and apparently one flew in now on eggs
I don't keep the nest up, so by the time I got to it everything looked normal. Takes forever to download.
I can't believe stoopid machine let me finally sign in again!I might throw it in the river!! Many have threatened that!
Anyway, I did see eagle at BWO & a POX on Mits Eagle Story! Another Stoopid bunch! They could have removed nest in Fall, not now w/eggs in it!!!
Thx for writing, Dana!! ☺
Well, I still can't get an internet connection, but everything says that the wireless connectivity is there....wonder if I have a bad router?? I have been *!#&%!
computers are really frustrating...
So you can see the internet connection- can you find the router on your computer? can you click on the router and then you should be able to troubleshoot to see what the probelm is.
Still scratching my head about that one, Loretta.
Megan, I need to send you to Ceil's house:)
Helen, I bet that airport bunch never thought about that nest until the plane landed in the Hudson.

Loretta wonder how many computers that river has in it????

PAULA....you have mail.
EGG ROLL!!
Hey. Sorry I've been negligent in dropping by. Hope everyone is doing well. Haven't taken any BW pictures worth posting in a long time. Maybe this weekend. I might have a couple of extra days off.
EAGLE AT LW:)
Well Hello, Bob:) We forgive you...
There's an eagle at Hornby.
there you are Bob, been missing you and your pics:)
LOL Bob...you can always visit us without pics...
OK, Mits...Thanks, hadn't been over to early morning posts yet...
Backatcha Mits.
eagle on branch at LW, feathers blowing in the breeze
Only pics lately are of the cats. Lisa tells me the work on the BW Wildlife Drive might not be done till this summer.
Both eagles at Hornby, one just came flying in.
that is such an awesome cam...LW eagle back in the nest.
an hornby eagles are yelling
poof at LW
wow, that long, Bob?
NBG cam with no wind, that is a rarity.
This is what Lisa said, "They had the first part of the Drive open a couple Saturdays ago, when they unfortunately had a big crowd. The people wore down the road so much, they had to close it the next day. Word is it might not be paved until summer, but once spring gets closer, they might try to reopen it and let people drive on the dirt."
wonder if these are the same people who did the bay bridge:):)?
big eagle butt on view at HI
I really miss access to the first part of the drive. Some great photo ops there. Good news is the osprey will be back in a few weeks.
I know, can't wait for them to get back....hope they have success this year.
The wildlife drive is my favorite part of BW....
noisy crows up in Maine!!!
K26 at PH...she laid first egg last year on the 24th....forum is all excited...
She sure has been checking out the bowl a lot today....laying down in it again...
I bet they are:)
Eagle (female, I think) working on nest cup and now setting on it at PH/Santa Cruz.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
OOps! Now I see Paula's comment.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Paula, how many eggs did Two Harbors lay this year??
I lost track after the first, and every time I look in when she is rolling them, I am only able to see one....
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
on Wild watch cams they have removed cam #3 from Kent, maybe there will be some more news soon.
I saw TH roll 2 eggs today, rarely watch the ones on the west coast, don't know when they were laid, Paula is our west coast authority.
Although I really do like LW and Hornby a lot.
Hi, Mits. I suspected she had at least two...based on previous years.
K-26 is still setting in the cup in the same direction...it looks like she is serious this time. Look for an egg today.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
Hahaha. I barely wrote that, and she flew off!!
Well, you can expect an egg soon at PH.
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
she's gone on my cam.
EGG Roll our nest- my feed keeps freezing.....
I really like the cam at Hornby, love watching the eagles come soaring in.
would love to live in one of the homes below the nest.
I am home. I got may errands done and it was so nice, I did a little exploring. Now I have the front and back doors open letting in fresh air! I am going to enjoy it while I can. It is in the 60's!!
it is 38° here Deb, but it is coming this way:)
eagle back at HI
2nd one just flew in
I would, too! Can you imagine having eagles flying overhead every day.
it would be nice, and I would not tear their nest down:)
Deb, there was an eagle at LW a little while ago.
Getting ready to mix up the pancakes and start the sausage gravy...I'm cheating...using a can of Libby's...it's good, but doesn't have nearly as much sausage in it as I put in when I make it from scratch!
I can hear the eagle at PH
OOh yeah, on an island with bald eagles, I'll take it...Hornby Island
