You are so right Glo. Sharon is where she needs to be and thanks be given above that she got herself there with the help of her son! That is special.
The last time she was in there she said it was so neat how they bring you the ecards sent through the hospital system. I recorded the link - help yourself.
I am not sure, but I think the puppy dad tripped in the pen. Somebody definitely goofed up the cam. All I heard was a crash and the man asking if everyone was ok. Then I think he said, sorry I tripped.
Thanks Jo....Wanda watch for that change in temperature be careful...Sharon will get better with them treating her...JUST MANY MANY PRAYERS GOING HER WAY...Praises that Sissy's Tom....made it through so fast...now prayers for his healing needs.
Did see before taking nap our eagles at the nest. Ooopss I did just see a spider on lower right corner. He is good size spider. Wasn't seeing things...SPIDEY get out of here!!!
Hi Dana - send Sharon an ecard through the hospital when you get a chance. She really liked them last time. They print them out and take them to her......
We are home. Sharon just called. Her cell phone is dying and she does not have a way to charge it. She made it through placing the other drain. There was hardly anything there to drain, so they did not leave it in. She is STILL IN THE ER!!!!! I cannot describe the level of my frustration. She sounds okay, just really tired. They sedated her to place the drain, so that attributes to that. Don't know anything about a plan of action yet.
Glad you and Tom are home Sissy. I know Tom will take it easy. No pulling, lifting, or etc. Follow them there instructions from doctor to the T. please....
It is just so hard. I have to be here and I need to be there as well. I have to run out. BBL. Thanks all of you for caring so much for my sister. I don't feel alone in this at all and that is thanks to you all!!!
Glo That is something unusual! Can't get over that raven making himself right at home at the nest NOR the eagle allowing it - Nature is strange sometimes..
COMMENT OFF THE PUPPY PAGE: by SFShiba 15 minutes ago
Not sure what all the screaming/crying was with the pups earlier but I wanted to let everyone know that they and our adult dogs are totally okay. I, on the other hand, took quite a tuble getting in to the pen abd my arm is a little worse for wear. The pen is cleaned up of the "birthday confetti" (for now) and everyone appears to be settled down. Apologies for all the heartaches.
Okay - I am back, reading all the tough stuff about Sharon, glad that Sissy and Tom are back in THEIR ROOST ,
Yes, MEMA - clocking in at 6 pm for one more round of 12 hours....then I am supposed to be off until Friday night at 6 pm - but in this business, nothing is guaranteed...and you are welcome!
So Good to See Everyone, will be tomorrow before I can open up all the fun links ! xoxo ♥
Dana...My comment is at 12:32 PM today. I think it is one of the best things you can do with a computer. When I first accessed weather.com they asked for my Zip code. Now every time I access it Charles Town is in the middle of the map. At the top left corner of the map is a line that says "interactive weather map". If you click on it you will get another map that looks similar to it. Mine initially shows a road map but if you click on the "Satellite" button you get the view of the same map from the satellite!!
There is a little cross in the center to use for reference purposes. If the weather is green or blue(snow) you can reduce it by using the "transparency" button.
Now if you zoom all the way out you will see almost the WHOLE WORLD! Use the reference cross and pick what you want to see. I looked at the Lines of Nazca in Peru, the Rock of Gibraltar, ST. Peter`s Square, The Parthenon, my houses and even the NCTC. (Use your mouse to move the map and I use the middle button to Zoom or your up and down arrows or the little thingy on the left of the map.)
I found that this satelite is much more update than Mapquest or Google Earth. If you are taking a trip you can actually "see" the roads that you will be driving on.
When I grow up, I want to be a retired person of wealth, with great computer and photography skills, with a giant sun room with glass all around in the middle of the wilderness...
Everything went quite well Mits...ceremony was really nice. Rob's Mom, Stepdad, Sister, son and daughters all spoke. Some friends got up and spoke as well. Was very emotional, of course. Rob put up a very courageous battle against cancer. Never complained, was always upbeat.
Rob was a firefighter, so they had 2 ladder trucks holding up a huge flag that everyone went under when we passed into the cemetary. Firetrucks led the processional. Played bagpipes at the graveside. Went back to the firehall afterwards for lunch. Auxillary did a very nice job on the food.
Hope this provides closure for the family, so they can begin to heal.
Afterwards, I went shopping to pick up some clothes for Mom. Some of them disappeared when she went to the hospital. Went to grocery store to pick up food for our Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday. Going to NH dinner on Thursday with Mom.
Puppies are back...look like they are all in the cage. One is sleeping with his head hanging out....oh, poor thing just fell out of cage and climbed back in!
Ok. Sher is in a room 8WA167A. She said she will probably come home Thursday, depending on the outcome of the culture they did. She is wore out. Thelma is there and Andrew and Jon just got back to the room. I think they slept all day. Bless their hearts. I know they were wore out.
Tom is having some pain of course but he is doing very, very good. Prayers are answered. My faith gets a little wobbly sometimes but never falls flat!!! Too much evidence of a loving God in my life to start doubting now.
Glad things went well, Paula, no matter how prepared we are, its just the reality of it that gets to you.. Must have been beautiful with the fire trucks and all
Paula glad things went well. My husbands mom was in a nursing home for a few years. She had a brain injury but could get around. So we would get there and hers clothes would be gone. She had put them elsewhere. We bought so many clothes and her name was in them. Sissy sometimes my faith gets shaky.
Paula - no matter how prepared we think we are there aren't any words that can help when we lose someone. When family or friends speak at the service of their memories - that is most meaningful. Hope all of you find closure now and that sorrows soon turn into joys.
Paula, I bet it was a beautiful service. I agree with Mema Jo. The words of loved ones is the most comforting. That was the way it was at Doug's funeral last week. Lots of memories. I have always thought that the way firefighters honor each other at their funeral is amazing. I bet it was a beautiful thing to be a part of. Bagpipes are so beautiful.
Sharon, I am glad you are in a room and can get some rest. Sissy, glad you can relax a little knowing she isn't still in the ER and is settled for the night. Glad Tom is doing so well so soon after surgery, hope the pain is manageable.
Paula, sounds like a very nice service. The flag above the cemetery must have been very touching.
Home, and getting settled in...VA's are so slow!! Spend a whole afternoon and early evening for one simple apptmt. ARGH! Almost sofa time w/ dog for Jeopardy---oh, yes, she is one who comes running wanting a lap when the Jeopardy music starts! Glad the Tom is home and resting. SOrry that the drain wasn't the answer for SHaron...but hopefully they have the a/b's running and she is resting. Paula, where was Rob a FF? I think that police and FF funerals are the most beautiful. The brotherhood is amazing. SUre I've mentioned it before..my youngest SIL is ff w/ Fairfax Co. and was very active w/ Charles Town volunteers, and oldest one was a military ff and local volunteer. Will check all the neat sites every one mentioned later!
The special part about the flag at the cemetary, was that his favorite truck, Truck 16, was part of it. The truck has been retired from service, it is very old. Rob loved to drive that truck. They took it down to the Pentagon on 9/11...Rob was part of the crew.
They used it to get into the inner circle of the Pentagon. It was the only truck that would fit. When they approached the opening, there was a van in the way, and they thought they couldn't get through even then. Rob got out and diabled the linkage (he was a mechanic by trade), and they pushed the van out of the way and got through.
Paula, was a wonderful story about Rob and the truck....had no idea that Frederick units were sent down. SIL's Vienna, Va. station was not sent there, but had to fill in for stations that were assigned. (He is now at one close to Alexandria, that did respond.) (Trivia: My mom went to work in the Pentagon when it first opened...w/ only basement offices ready...during WWII.)
That is a wonderful tribute to Rob, Paula. Hard to get a real good look at him, but from that distance, I swear he looks just like my SIL's stepdad, who was Chief at Charles Town Co. 5 for a number of years.
Paula - In reading the article I remembered that Angie, Roger Smith's wife, and I worked together for about 5 yrs. I knew Angie had gone with an ambulance service and then on to a 911 dispatch position. She was a certified EMT - I remember her studying on the job when we were slow. Small world.
Hello & Good Evening Everyone. Just awoke from Giant Panda nap since about 3 PM!!Had root canal & I guess novacaine went to my brain! DUH Gotta catch up... Getting late for most, so Good Noght tto all hitting the hay...Happy Feather Dreams ☺ ☺ ☺
Good Grief!! Just read about Sharon. She's doing the right thing tho, by going to hosp for proper care. Hope Tom did OK today also, Sissy. Prayers for Paula's family ╬ ♥♥♥
Lynn, I hope you are still on here. I bought my copy of Il Divo's new CD this evening. It is sooo beautiful. The very last song is AMAZING GRACE, sung like you have never heard it before. I still have goosebumps!
Yes, Wanda...just saw yourt post--I got it last week. Isn't it marvelous??? Giving it to my mom for Christmas...but I opened it and copied before I wrapped!!!
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... It is 40° here in Martinsburg/Shepherdstown. Our cam is acting up again, just like it did two days ago. It does look as if we might be able to see our pair if they sould decide to make a house call.
Was hopping on here mainly to see if anything new about Sharon. Well really probably I'm sure too early AM. Maybe they will know something by noon. Some cultures only take overnight other take longer to grow.
Only ONE more day and then it's HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL....any celebrating early HAPPY THANKSGIVING NOW.
Good morning eagle friends!! Talked to Sharon a while ago. She feels really drained but just the stress of the past couple of days would do that to the healthiest person. They are going to give her IV antibiotics today and she will probably be discharged sometime tomorrow. That is fabulous news!!! We are gonna have our Thanksgiving on Sunday since we don't know what time she will get out of there tomorrow.
11/26/08:From Lisa............. Here's a good look at an immature bald eagle with coloring that almost makes it look like an osprey. ...................
I thought the same thing when I saw it..have to go to BWO to view pic.
Today Mostly cloudy this morning...then becoming partly sunny. Highs in the lower 40s. West winds 10 to 15 mph. » ZIP Code Detail Tonight Partly cloudy in the evening...then clearing. Lows in the mid 20s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Thanksgiving Day Sunny. Highs in the upper 40s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. AMEN:)
Hi Sissy----Thx for updates on Sharon & Tom. Looks like you will be the nurse person! Keep up your strength ☺ ☺ Sunday Turkey Day sounds like a good idea--everyone will be better prepared by then.
Since I'm still up, I might as well get to work earlier than normal before I konk out. Had to take pain killer for tooth. Now why should it hurt if the nerve's been removed??DUH Where are those birds??Shopping for turkey? At least I can watch for them at Chelsea ofice. ☺
And another thing----WHY is nest area SO dark & Spidey's web visible when the sun is out??? At least it is here! The clock must be the only thing working.
Things are sounding encouraging for our Southern Delegation...
Loretta - That was some Panda Nap - you are ready and rarin' to go!
Beautiful story and report on Rob's services, Paula. The Woodsboro site is wonderful. I have been to two funerals with the ladder trucks with flag draped between the two. It is a very moving tribute and honor to a special firefighter, as it sounds that Rob certainly was.
Spitting a little snow when I went out to get the paper. I like it just a few bits of snow. Not landing on ground or enough to mess up traffic.
Jim you have a nice Thanksgiving also ty.
Loretta let us know if you see an eagle.
Sissy glad you heard from Sharon. Just remind her when she gets home. No running around a lot, to take it easy for awhile. So GLAD Tom is doing well. Happy Thanksgiving for Sunday. Prayers still going up for you, Sharon and Tom and others.
Prayers for others here that need them.
Hummm now did I check Mason's candle when it was put up. Better I go check.
Lisa at BWO got my two white bird pictures. There is a post on the Puleston site, about identification. The opinion seems to be herring gull, or maybe a slatey-backed gull, but I think they are going with Herring Gull. Lisa commented that they don't normally get gulls there. ☺
Turkey is in the oven, time to make the dressing. I will bake it tomorrow so that it will be hot when I take it to Mom's. I LOVE THANKSGIVING! I just got a call from THE GREAT WHITE HUNTER...he's on his way home...18" of snow in Elkins and expecting 3-4" more. Oh, please be careful!
You are right about that, Helen...but this is the day that the WHOLE family comes together, including girlfriends and boyfriends. Dustin asked if he could find a girlfriend, could he please bring her ;) LOL
Good morning, everyone. It is a beautiful sunny morning here today.
If you watch the Macy's Day Parade tomorrow, watch the very first band that leads off the parade. My alma mater, Sioux Falls Lincoln Marching Band, will be the lead band for the parade this year.

I meant disabled the linkage
Rob was a volunteer for 18 years at Woodsboro Fire Company 16, here in Frederick County.
Puppies are rasslin...Mount is winning so far...
what a fascinating story, Paula...Have always loved fireman.
Oops, game all tied up.
and policeman too:)
Now the rassler is chewing on the cage and rasslee is playing with a toy...
Back to rasslin'
Deb, every day when I check, that owl is in the same position
I have the utmost respect for the firefighters, EMT's and police men and women who put their lives on the line.
Rumble in the cage now.
That is a wonderful story, Paula. What a wonderful tribute for Rob.
you betcha they do.....they are very brave people.
oh dear a little help with the personal hygiene
I just noticed it hasn't moved an inch since I opened it, helen. At least it is stuck with a good picture on it.
yeah Deb, it has been standing there for days, but the time keeps going
puppy fight!!!!
It is raining at PH nest.
Puppies running around playing and fighting!
Reminds me of my 6....kept them in the kitchen corner
LOL playing under the covers...
yes Paula, that is where we keep Ceil, most of the time, in the corner.:)
Ha Ha Mits.
I kept them there with boxes and coffee tables turned sideways.
Born on Halloween, they were ready to go by Christmas!
Too funny the way they tumble out of that bed!
Ruh Roh, trying to tear up the red rug
Puppies all tuckered out, time for a nap
Paula, was a wonderful story about Rob and the truck....had no idea that Frederick units were sent down. SIL's Vienna, Va. station was not sent there, but had to fill in for stations that were assigned. (He is now at one close to Alexandria, that did respond.)
(Trivia: My mom went to work in the Pentagon when it first opened...w/ only basement offices ready...during WWII.)
I used a kids plastic wading pool --it worked well for about 4 weeks before they were able to crawl out. And mama dog could step out easily.
Hedgie - I would have used one of those, if I could have found one...too late in the season!
Initially had them in a big furniture box!
Puppies have DADDY under attack lol
Here's a picture of Rob w/ Truck 16
http://www.woodsborovfc.org/
that is a very nice write-up for him Paula. His son must be very proud, as his other children must be.So sad to lose someone so soon in life
Anyone watching Dancing w/ the Stars finale? Still think Cloris Leachman is a hoot!!
That is a wonderful tribute to Rob, Paula. Hard to get a real good look at him, but from that distance, I swear he looks just like my SIL's stepdad, who was Chief at Charles Town Co. 5 for a number of years.
Paula - In reading the article I remembered that Angie, Roger Smith's wife, and I worked
together for about 5 yrs. I knew Angie had gone with an ambulance service and then on to a 911 dispatch position. She was a certified EMT - I remember her studying on the job when we were slow. Small world.
Our cams are acting up a little
Both still and live..........

You are making memories in your celebrations. Make them good ones for yourself and all those young and old who join with you in celebrating a Spirit of Thanksgiving.
Good Morning Everyone
Was hopping on here mainly to see if anything new about Sharon. Well really probably I'm sure too early AM. Maybe they will know something by noon. Some cultures only take overnight other take longer to grow.
Only ONE more day and then it's
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL....any celebrating early HAPPY THANKSGIVING NOW.
GOOD WEDNESDAY MORNING EVERYONE
Good morning eagle friends!! Talked to Sharon a while ago. She feels really drained but just the stress of the past couple of days would do that to the healthiest person. They are going to give her IV antibiotics today and she will probably be discharged sometime tomorrow. That is fabulous news!!! We are gonna have our Thanksgiving on Sunday since we don't know what time she will get out of there tomorrow.
We have an eagle at BWO. Our cam is stuck or something, is ya'lls?
yes, Sissy, cam on the fritz again...sent Steve a note...How is Tom this a.m.? Just got off phone with Sharon.
11/26/08:From Lisa.............
Here's a good look at an immature bald eagle with coloring that almost makes it look like an osprey. ...................
I thought the same thing when I saw it..have to go to BWO to view pic.

Hi Sissy----Thx for updates on Sharon & Tom. Looks like you will be the nurse person! Keep up your strength ☺ ☺
Sunday Turkey Day sounds like a good idea--everyone will be better prepared by then.
Since I'm still up, I might as well get to work earlier than normal before I konk out. Had to take pain killer for tooth. Now why should it hurt if the nerve's been removed??DUH
Where are those birds??Shopping for turkey? At least I can watch for them at Chelsea ofice. ☺
And another thing----WHY is nest area SO dark & Spidey's web visible when the sun is out??? At least it is here!
The clock must be the only thing working.

Squirrels are raiding the apple box at RHDC - I think one just might have climbed into the box!
Turkeys having a Hay Day in PA -
Good Morning Everyone, we got a lot of folks on here this morning !
It is a very moving tribute and honor to a special firefighter, as it sounds that Rob certainly was.
xo ♥
Nature Loretta Your Turkey pictures are Greeeaatttt !
Things have sure settled down in Maine...a real testimony to the durability of that Eagles Nest !
Interesting Bird Sounds at Maine, no eagles, but I like what I hear, maybe some waterfowl.
I think I am going to split before we do! Pillow and Blankie time for me.
Hope it is a special day for all.
xox ♥ ♥ z z z z
night Margy.
Oh, please be careful!
bet you are happy, Capt. is on his way home?:)
You are right about that, Helen...but this is the day that the WHOLE family comes together, including girlfriends and boyfriends. Dustin asked if he could find a girlfriend, could he please bring her ;) LOL

I think Thanksgiving is the BEST holiday, thankful all my family is close by:)

3 moose on the moose cam:)
Good morning, everyone. It is a beautiful sunny morning here today.
If you watch the Macy's Day Parade tomorrow, watch the very first band that leads off the parade. My alma mater, Sioux Falls Lincoln Marching Band, will be the lead band for the parade this year.
well how cool is that????. will be looking for them, Deb.
split coming up soon.....
Dogs are fed, I see my birdbaths are frozen, something must have bumped the cord, so I will have to go check on that.
COME ON OVER...STEVE HAS GIVEN US A NEW THREAD AND A MESSAGE ABOUT OUR "SICK" CAM..............
