Good morning everyone. I got to the polling place at 6:30 this morning. Was a long line already. It opened at 7 AM and I voted and got out at 7:30 AM. Did my duty and hope everyone does.
Just got back from voting. Took me 30 minutes. I do love the passion of America that is coming through today. Americans do not give up in hard times. They stand up and they show up and they live up to the Pride that comes with being and American. That is a very good thing indeed.
Good Morning ALL you American Eagle Watchers & FRIENDS. I will be heading to the polls and Don't ask I HAVE MY BEADS PROUDLY DISPLAYED I love the patriotic atmosphere on Voting Day. Norma should be in her heaven but she can't talk politics!
Grannyblt it is good to see you I usually miss you since I am the Late Starter.
LOLLY - was hoping you would be on...I am using one of my favorite mugs this morning, call it my Power Mug, a gift from my brother who used to live in Houston...It is a cobalt blue glass, with a pewter nine-banded armadillo permanently attached! It's a beauty, and it seemed like a good day to use it! Hey, you can wear your Eagle Beads Anyway - they link us all together....
Imaginary Beads to everyone who still needs them, close your eyes, and see them in your mind...
I did not tell you about the joke played on me. Jack and I were sitting outside on our swing. It was evening and dim. I saw an armadillo! Jack hurried in and got his gun. I was amazed that the armadillo did not move, but dummy me thought no more about it. Jack came out with his gun, aimed, then turned to me and said "Do you want to watch this?" Before I could reply "NO!", he said loudly "BANG" About that time I heardy the neighbors howling with laughter. It was a stuffed toy armadillo. The neighbors had bought it and Jack was in on the joke! Talk about feeling like a dummy!!!
BUT, I got even. They have a pet door and they had just complained about a opossom coming in. Well, while they were away I put the armadill just inside the pet door. Fooled Jany but Hilton knew immediatly!
Tuesday, November 4 Yesterday morning, Lun Lun decided to play a post-Halloween trick on me. She relocated the cub! Those of you watching PandaCam early Monday were perhaps concerned by the glaringly empty nest box on your screens.
Lun Lun repeatedly carried her precious boy from the nest box into each of the other two adjoining dens and back. Sometimes she would lay him down, stand over him briefly, then pick him up again and move on to the next den. Other times she would merely stand in the den looking about, cub dangling awkwardly from her mouth. At length, she settled on the den that was “just right,” and rested with the cub nestled against her. During the excursion, the cub (and I) protested to some degree!
As Kate mentioned last week, cub relocation is a very normal part of the parenting process. Eventually, the cub’s increasing size will make it difficult for Lun Lun to carry him. For now, his weight of 2,971 grams is manageable.
Finally, having no smooth segue for my next point, I’ll simply blunder into it. Remember to visit Zoo Atlanta today to receive a 50% admission discount. Debbie Forde Curatorial Assistant
Luney is all alone in the nest bed now. I guess from that report we shouldn't be alarmed at his disappearance. I would love to see where Buta Buta lives now.
Sweet little fellow, can't help but feel shivers for him but I know he must not be cold, I just think I would be....well, might be time for Panda Nap after watching Lun Lun languish....
We went to vote about 9 o'clock this morning (yes, I wore my beads, PROUDLY). There was a long line...it took aout an hour. It wasn't too bad waiting. We chatted with a lot of our neighbors that we only see at the polls. When we were done, we went to Bettys Restaurant in Shepherdstown for breakfast. It was very good...their pancaked were the largest I have ever seen. I have posted some photos on my "Wild and Wonderful" for those of you who have never seen Bettys. It is very quaint.
YEP! MIne too-refresh says-You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied. Yikes, I gotta get some better credentials..
Good afternoon everybody;I have been keeping tract of the eagles here, they have been working on the nest.I have been out taking photos of all the color in the trees.God is a great artist.I will post them later so keep watching for them.I am enjoying my retirement.
Dave never stays long enough for us to ask any questions...like when are we going to get to see his photos from Alaska or the Tundra or wherever he went right after he retired.
Yes, Helen, their bacon is good. No wonder it is MASON'S favorite. We also had sausage gravy and pudding for the pancakes. Next time, I'd like to try their country ham.
Yes, Wanda, understand...I have some of my parents' things too...so hard to throw certain things out, and easy to throw others out, but the getting to "which is which" is tedious and daunting!
"Slam Wore Out" as Sissy says, I guess I tire easily.....
31 minutes and lots more comments later - I have voted and returned! NO ONE was at the polls when we walked in and about 10 Poll Helpers said you take him and I'll take her. WOW what service - hope Norma sees a good turnout!
LunLun is back with Luney - that looks like the den where she used to have all her bamboo delivered and we could never find ButaButa.
piece of cake to vote....4 years ago, it took me 90 minutes to get to the machine....2 years ago, it took 60 minutes.....today, just a 20 minute wait...:)
Jo, I would love to sell on Ebay. I need to take the time to find out all the particulars. I may have a few questions for Aaron. I have a CD which tells how to get started selling on Ebay, but have never looked at it. It's about time, isn't it? Thanks for the reminder ;0
Helen, I never gave a thought to taking my cane to the polls. If I had walked in with an EAGLE cane, along with my EAGLE beads, they may have called security! LOL
I have voted, also. I was lucky and walked right in and voted. When I walked in there was a long line, but if you knew where to go, you got to skip the first line. Lot's of college kids, so they had to find out which table to go to.
If you click on Indiana Dave's name and check out the 2008 eagles, there are some that I hadn't seen yet. Maybe I just missed the day he posted them. He has started 2009 eagles, but just one picture so far. That's all the farther I have gotten.
Daughter just told me that when she and a friend walked to the creek yesterday afternoon, they saw a bald eagle fly over and forgot to mention it until now...
I see there is snow in Utah! I checked that cam almost every day due to the few cams we have going for us.... THANK YOU PAULA for the heads up! Now to see a Moose!
Yes, that was an awesome, now some Eagle Chirps to go with it - a perfect visit. I think, maybe they were having leftovers from this morning's unbelievable chow down...(only one eagle this morning)
Nice to See Everyone, I'm headed out the road...My "boss" gave me the evening off...time to see what the Grandson is up to, and if he has any Hallowe'en candy left.
No Way Sissy! If you get that little WowWee Panda Cub - then we'll know to keep a better eye on you and on the den. Would NOT want to look for Luney and see a WowWee instead.
tee-hee, my woo wee plush panda came in the mail last week, was going to give it to the M&M girls, but you have to be 3 yrs and up;)It was a Today's Special Value on QVC
Hi gang! How is everyone? See that Dave was back with us for a short visit! He's as independent as our eagles! NO ONE said a thing about my eagle necklace...boo! No chance to plug our cam! Had 35 people in front of me...thank goodness they had chairs to sit on. I've never had to wait before. On way back from daughters, saw a line outside the Ruritan building that was probably 30-40 people deep out the sidewalk to the parking lot...a very small building, so sure they didn't have seating. Wanda, I can help you set up eBay if you need me to! There's nothing to it....it does use your time, though!
OMG, I want a WowWee!! He could use a bit more stuffing from the looks of the pic, but the noises and movement are so cute! Where did Mattie hear about it?? $50.99 on Amazon.
Made a pot of chili for this gloomy day...made it thick this time so I can fix taco salad...now can't make up my mind if I want that or just a bowl of it and crackers....oh, the dilemmas of retired people!!
I once got a 'DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY FISH" in an auction box...threw it into the garbage. It is one of the most annoying things ever made by man! (besides ROBO PANDA)
Speaking of those kinds of toys...my mother got her brother a Chicken Dance one..she had it in her carry-on luggage on the plane...and it started playing THAT annoying music...she was so embarrassed! My SIL got me a frog that does a song that you all probably know, but now I can't remember the name of...something about spiders and flies...
Evening Everyone in Eagleland!!! Had to take my Eagle beads off--Baby kitty was in my lap trying to chew on an eagle & afraid she would bite the thread!!!Then we'd have 52+ pickup & a LOT of restringing! Paula, Thx for Moose cam. I can't believe he's sitting in snow already! I'll have to send it to friend in UT & see if they have snow too. Guess we didn't get an eagle visit this PM. See Spidey's web still survives even tho he is probably in the Happy Hunting Ground by now!
Wanda, cute pic of Gene! Would that be Dr. Queen?? Have a friend who loves Langs music but won't buy it because of her orientation...so I bought a CD for her for her birthday!
We have a Billy Bass at the Park!!!I loved his "Take Me to the River" song.It was B'Day present to our dearly departed buddy who had been MD DNR agent, originally from Cumberland. All the kids want us to push the button, but battery corroded, so he doesn't sing anymore. If I didn't already have stuffed Mei Ziang & Tai, I would probably order a Wow Wee!
Thanks, Paula...will check them out. Forgot to tell you all...my youngest is winging her way to Hawaii...should arrive in about 4 hrs. She and SIL went w/ her dad and uncle...2nd trip to our 50th state...I miss her already!
But perhaps the biggest surprise was when I opened the door from the garage and found a Northern Flicker in my dining room, trying desperately to get out. He actually sat on the crank as I turned it to open the window and let him escape.
While puzzling a bit about how this happened, I thought back to last Saturday when I chased a flicker off my bedroom window screen when I heard some strange hammering. Sure enough, the critter had hammered out a hole big enough to fly through. One word of wisdom - if you are going to let a flicker, especially one that has recently been eating purple berries, fly around your bedroom, be sure to cover things with a drop cloth! Back to laundry...
I sure wouldn't want him flying around in my house. But I am ready to wring the neck of the one here...guess while I was gone today he pecked big chunks of wood out of a soffet board...pieces on deck and raw wood showing up above. Don;t know whether it will do any good or not, but will spray the wood good in the morning w/ bug spray.
Nothing happened w/ the bluie link, Dana...just a black screen...??? Helen, saw earlier post about the half-price tickets at Atlanta...NZ is still free admission, isn't it?
I didn't realize Elizabeth Dole was running against another woman, Kay Hagan for her Senate seat. Just thought it was interesting to have a woman vs woman race!
Sorry Paula and Lynn it was news on my Comcast news page. About how they had to save penquin chicks. In order to feed then release because there isn't enough food.
These pundits and reporters are putting me to sleep. I wish they would just wait until tomorrow and report the outcome and stop all the projecting and interviews w/ people who think they know everything. Argh!! I think it's a good night to go to bed early! Sound of rain on the roof will put me right out! Will say goodnight and go say my prayers for all. See you in the morning light.
Well Hubby put a taped movie in and now that it is over I can head into bed. I will read for certain tomorrow am hours who the new president is that will lead us out of this recession, I pray!
Megan, you are watching History in the making. Obama will be our president for the next 4 years. I did NOT vote for him, but I pray he will do EVERYTHING he promised he would do for us.
Wanda...The other day I went on a web site that said I needed Adobe Reader to open it. I already had Adobe Reader but I clicked on the download button anyway. It gave me version #9 and deleted the older version that I`ve had for a long time. It worked then on the web site that I was trying to open. Maybe they made some changes that made the older version obsolete. Might help you if you are still having trouble...Paul
My first entry so far, I'm at home, tired and so encouraged by the the future. Mason had 3 purposefiul movements this morning. Everyone in America wants changes. The trees are brilliant, the air is cool and Melissa and Bridget have a new hair dos.

Looks like the temp in MI is warm enough to melt down the Snowman lol
RED - we vote at our schools here in Frederick County...some places it is a fire hall
Juvie back at BWO
Cute juvie talons!
We have some polls at fire halls, some at schools and some at churches. Guess it dosen't matter as long as you vote.
that juvie is toooo cute:)
Good morning to all! Had a fantastic retreat. Everyone needs a weekend like I had. Lots of laughter and love all around!
Came home to a down computer. Our modem died. However, we are, obviously, back up and running.
Spent the day yesterday outside mowing leaves and pulling weeds. Jack is busy sawing down a dead tree. Will have plenty of firewood this year!
Now I need to run some errands and straighten house, but oh, I want to go back outside. To heck with the house! LOL
Voted early last week. We got home Wed. and voted Thursday. So, I did not wear my beads. Boo hoo!
I wish each of you a glorious day!
Well, since I didn't wear my beads to vote...I donned them to vote on a name for our cute little panda! LOL
Good for you RED, that's the spirit!

Now....I do NOT like armadillos as you well know!! LOL
And I got my Juice in my Eagle Mug !
Yes I do remember Lolly, sorry...oooops!
But I think you would like this one: It is inaminate!
Boss just told me to break for lunch !

I did not tell you about the joke played on me. Jack and I were sitting outside on our swing. It was evening and dim. I saw an armadillo! Jack hurried in and got his gun. Enjoy your lunch! I need to get busy! BBL
that's funny, Lolly:)

Wow - a premonition JO - he has disappeared in the wink of a Blog Post...
I can't get my dove picture to attach !

It is very quaint.
yes their pancakes are huge....but their bacon rocks:)
Wanda I'm going to go there one of these days! How late do they
serve breakfast? lol
HA! You better go there for brunch JO!!
Hey Turkey - where have you been hiding?
Megan - Have you started any wreaths yet?
Been outside a lot since it's been so warm.. cleaning up gardens and finishing work on GH...
Not yet, will start collecting greens in a couple of weeks.. been gathering pine cones from the yard-then they all have to be wired...
What size wreaths do you make?
I mean the wire forms... I think I
want red berries, a little pine & a red bow this year.
Diameters are about 15", 18", 21", 23"' 33"', and larger- 18 and 23 are the most popular door sizes...
I measure my door and/or window & get back to you!
Off to VOTE..........
Yepper We can do Brunch at Betty's
one day as long as they serve bacon!

Nap Time !
My boss is being lenient with me today...but I got a lot of pitching and boxing done!
Yes, Helen, their bacon is good. No wonder it is MASON'S favorite.
We also had sausage gravy and pudding for the pancakes. Next time, I'd like to try their country ham.
I have about 20 years worth of pitching to do, Margy. Just don't know what to do with it. A lot of it is antiques and collectibles.
I hear a loon at Maine Cam...anyone else?
heard it as I was headed for the pillows..
Are you sure about that Margy?
You do need rest. LOL
Yes, Wanda, understand...I have some of my parents' things too...so hard to throw certain things out, and easy to throw others out, but the getting to "which is which" is tedious and daunting!

My live moose cam is showing a fence I think. Was there a moose on the live cam?
Guess all the hammering and sawing didn't run the Maine eagles off.
There was, Red, it walked off to the left a while ago.

OK, so it's another version of Robo panda...none of them are as cute as our LL...
Lightsticks coming on at our nest.
How wonderful to see our Utah Moose friends again. The baby is precious.
What does it do, MIts?
its the next best thing to having a real panda, which we can't have....has cute panda sounds
its mouth opens and it has cub sounds, moves its hear...might give it to panda keepers at zoo

There was a commercial on TV. She doesn't miss the commercials, even at 10 years old!
I like it!!
I hope that singing fish comes with a hammer....
Wow Wee Elvis looks like K.D. Lang. Love her voice but don't like her presence on stage.
Did you put it on your Christmas wish list, Sissy-wanna-be-a-panda??
Look at K.D Lang on my "Just for fun".
roflmbo....Wanda he does......don't worry, Meagan, be happy, you have a hammer....

that's ok, Wanda, I would whine to if I got one of those fish
got to go out for a little while...bbs
Wow Wee has a mini-robopanda for only $8.99!!! Those could be stocking stuffers for those on your list that should get a coal chunk!LOL
OH NO...NO NCIS TONIGHT! :(
I wonder how our NORMA is doing right now...I'll bet she is exhausted. Anxious to hear her stories.
Check out www.iws.org, click on interactive, then eagle nest cams.
New cams up for West End (with sound) and for Seal Rocks (with sound)
No neokast needed...and also, neokast appears to have gone belly up!
Hearing SOUND will really spoil us, Paula.
Thanks, Paula...will check them out.
Forgot to tell you all...my youngest is winging her way to Hawaii...should arrive in about 4 hrs. She and SIL went w/ her dad and uncle...2nd trip to our 50th state...I miss her already!
Wow, aren't those cam's nice!
West End & Seal Rocks - WOW!
TH webcam is back on full streaming mode as well!
Today I was outside with no shoes, Thursday I may need boots. :(
We have had a shower that didn't amount to a few drops. Maybe more
to come.
it has pretty much been off and on drizzle here since this afternoon...still 61 degrees here
Evening Everyone!
Voted then went for groceries...line was long but had cafe. tables in school. We all just scooted along and talked.
My daughter loved Teddy Ruxpin. He played tapes and his mouth moved.
Snowman Cam had large body near cam w/head down. Thought it was a bear. But No, was a couple deer, duh!
its a deer party:)
New IWS cams are great, 'cept I have to turn off popup blocker for some.
They are great cams aren't they Loretta?
They have released information on bones that were gathered and tested for DNA. They are Steve Fossett's.
Don't know if this will work or not:
Baby Penquins
How would you like to come home to this surprise:
But perhaps the biggest surprise was when I opened the door from the garage and
found a Northern Flicker in my dining room, trying desperately to get out. He actually sat on the crank as I turned it to open the window and let him escape.
While puzzling a bit about how this happened, I thought back to last Saturday when I chased a flicker off my bedroom window screen when I heard some strange hammering. Sure enough, the critter had hammered out a hole
big enough to fly through. One word of wisdom - if you are going to let a flicker, especially one that has recently been eating purple berries, fly around your bedroom, be sure to cover things with a drop cloth! Back to
laundry...

Cool video, Dana, but it shut down my IE!!
I think it is Hedgie, but they do charge for some of the special events...like the Xmas lights show coming up.
Sorry Paula and Lynn it was news on my Comcast news page. About how they had to save penquin chicks. In order to feed then release because there isn't enough food.
yes, Lynn, free admission to NZ:)
and if you become a member of FONZ, it is free parking
Dana - I was able to view it, but when i hit the back button, it shut me down...probably just stupid IE
Is anyone besides me having trouble with their Adobe Reader? I need it to view my bank statement, but can't get it going.
Those little fuzzies penquins sure were cute Paula.
Lynn know you already left "sleep well nite nite"..
thank God, for cable TV, been watching all my favs:)
Well Hubby put a taped movie in and now that it is over I can head into bed. I will read for certain tomorrow am hours who the new president is that will lead us out of this recession, I pray!
Good Night Everyone

I must be a glutton for punishment cause I am glued to the coverage..online and on tv..
Maybe this link will work better:
Video of Baby Penquins Rescured
Megan, you are watching History in the making. Obama will be our president for the next 4 years. I did NOT vote for him, but I pray he will do EVERYTHING he promised he would do for us.
Always fascinating to watch, Wanda.. They have indeed just called the election for Obama.
Dana, that didn't work either. Wonder why?
Wanda...The other day I went on a web site that said I needed Adobe Reader to open it. I already had Adobe Reader but I clicked on the download button anyway. It gave me version #9 and deleted the older version that I`ve had for a long time. It worked then on the web site that I was trying to open. Maybe they made some changes that made the older version obsolete. Might help you if you are still having trouble...Paul
We have a new president!! This is a really historic event.
Thanks PAUL.
SISSY what are you doing up so late? You should be taking a Panda nap. :)
Past my bedtime...
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SLEEP TIGHT
PRAYERS FOR ALL
I fell asleep watching the returns, and woke up to Obama's acceptance speech. We have history in the making.
Night, all.
Have been watching to returns all evening....glued to the TV. Yes, history in the making!
