Those Swallows are getting to be almost as big as the parent. Soon they'll be flapping their wings and leave. At least, we sas something grow and prosper in the nest this year.

WELCOME NORMA! I only have l week from this coming Monday! I am getting a little excited to get started again, but I sure will miss blogging on here with all of you during the day. There is no way I can sneak a peak during the day at school. :(

PAULA No osprey in Connecticut nest now. I went to check if it was refreshing, as the bird had been standing there in the same position. I clicked on live cam and the nest showed up MT.

SHOW TIME for the "LITTLE PRINCE"-----He is climbing trees & hanging upside down---also some of the limbs aren't strong enough to hold him---So he is swinging with the breeze---ho!---I don't think he realizes he has gained a few lbs. since he used to climb like that---SLID DOWN OUT OF THE TREE---VERY FAST!!!----Bet he has SPLINTERS!!!-Took off running----Still my favorite!!!---TELL HIM HELLO MITS!!!

I'm sure they caught the guy, cause the cops that had that one car pulled over were only a couple hundred feet away, and he would have had to crest the hill and run into them! I mean, I would think they would see the headlights coming at them, in the wrong lane, and gone after him, or at least called someone else. But hey, what do I know...

OMG, look at the swallow nest! Are all 3 babies in there? I see one head and one tail, and they're not on the same bird. Man, is it time for them to fledge already???
I have my third load of wash in, have two bedrooms and 1 bath cleaned and have started on the livingroom. I always leave our back bedroom and bath until last; just in case he shows up early. :) I have my livingroom and kitchen to go and some brownies and muffins to bake yet.

So sad about the barn owls or church owls as they call it there. I was hoping to see those babes grow like we did Frieda and Diego.

HELLO HELLO HELLO!!! Just thought I'd stop in to see how everyone is doing, and to say that I think about all of you and miss watching our eaglets! I hope we have better luck next season :-)
On the bird rescue front, we have recently acquired a short-eared owl which we will try to train to jesses and gloves for use in Education programs. He's pretty skittish still, so it will be quite some time. I'll post pictures on Nest Watchers one of these days, you know how it is!
I hope everyone is doing well, things are okay here...I'll try to stop in later on!

Hi Gang. I was off line for a while. The IT police were too close. I feel like a fugitive.Went to the grocery store on my lunch hour to get a little bird feed to keep my little ones at work happy until I can bring some from home. they sit and wait for me in the mornings.

Baby panda sleeping with mom...I love this Bay site has such beautiful music when watching the cameras.. Oh the otters are swimming also.. Check it out ya'll..

She is feeding them i have seen the divers cleaning the big windows before also
Ok Nilla I'm back out on the bay. I'm not sure what's on the rocks. The red tingy or whatever it is, is way out there now but I don't think it is in real deep water.

Well they are either cormorants or harbor seals on those rocks. I'll guess cormorants.
I think those were people in Kayaks and looks like the tide might be coming back in? Sometimes you can see people who are on the deck at the bottom of the window also..

Dana, its deep, take it from me. My brothers and I used to dive there before the aquarium was there. The birds are cormorants. they dont have oil glans like other water birds do and have to dry their wings by holding them out to "blow dry" in the wind and sun. My dad taught at Monterey High. The red thing looks like a raft. What do you think?

Maybe the brownish I see on the top of the water is the kelp. Because the lady on the kelp forest was saying it is brownish ontop of the water. I'm don't know. Maybe a sand bar???
The kep bed behind the rocks are like huge forests with kelp that look like tall trees.They are beautiful.

The kelp bed is dangerous. My father got man when he found out we were diving there. The seals hide from sharks in there and teens in wet suits look like seals to a shark. That was one long lecture he gave us.

Nilla its not a sand bar. Its much too deep there. Its a kelp forest.
I thought maybe that was the kelp forest the lady was talking about. Thanks Heidi. Boy I bet your Dad was mad. Even the lady diver said she leaves the sharks alone and they have an understanding to leave her alone.....
I have the aviary bird cam up and just saw this big bird go by the camera Heidi it was brown long legs with awhite belly there it isssssssssssssssss long beak oh my right in front of cam
the otters will wrap the kept around their bellys to hold them so they wont float away when they sleep. Its really cute to watch. Babes will sometimes sleep on mama's tummy while she's sleeping on her back.

Nilla - thanks for posting about the Monterey bay aquarium cams. Really neat. I couldn't view them from home last year on dialup.
I met two ladies from the aquarium who were checking on otters out in the bay when I was in CA. They were tagged and had radio transmitters, they were checking up on them. Really nice people.
I see either Frieda or Frodo! First time I have seen either one. They are laying later than last year. On Aug 1 last year they laid their first egg. Or maybe this is their normal timeframe. I think they were early last year.

Hey Paula i love the eagle!!! Ya when Mits said she loved penguins it hit me about we watched them last year at Monterey and they feed them at 3 pm .. 6 our time... I would love to go there for avisit need to add that place to my list when i go across crountry... I have not checked in with F&F yet this year... But Dana and i agreed the lady feeding the penguins was Sharon's twin...

What an eventful day with 2 of the chicks hatching. Your video on the first feeding is excellent. We have a group of Eagle Watchers that have now converted to the Brisbane Frieda & Frodo watchers. We are elated that we were all here in time for the event. Member of the group have all snapped pics and I do want to forward them to you. However, I can imagine just how many you will be receiving!
Thank you for your site's coverage - it is awesome and just for the record, Frieda is the most beautiful falcon we have ever been privileged to see.
