Vicky-IL You need to contact FloralGirl who lives in Shepherdstown for information. I just looked at her profile but there isn't an email address & I don't have it. Shepherdstown is a small town & has the college type atmosphere. Why not leave a message on this blog for her to contact you.. One thing to remember: We have gone to the tree before & didn't see any of our eagles. This could happen..However, it would depend on what length of time you would spend there. Yep! You could camp out near the tree! I really hope you do this. Let me know - Nilla and I and a few others are close by & would certainly give you some company.
Oh, he is flapping his wings and looks like he is mantling but I don't know if they do that. He keeps going after his parent, pecking at them. Do they regurg their food to them. This is pretty funny looking. Okay, can't get stuck on a stork too.
Yes, that was me that deleted the last comment. Misspelled word!
I'm going to see if I can pull this off and get there. I'm a traveler, use to drive 1100 miles straight from Colorado Springs to South Bend Indiana many many times! Like getting out like that. So if maybe someone who has a cell phone or even any phone number I could call when I got into town I would sure appreciate the help how to get to "the Tree!"
Give FloralGirl your email address unless you're leaving tonight. Do you have AAA for on the road? You let us know your travel plans - you need our phone numbers --- You can tell I'm a MEMA!
Sharon They do messy poop shoots - right on the nest area! LOL I have never seen him eat & I don't think I want to-- If he eats, then you will be the CROP in his throat.
I do not have AAA, but I'll get back on here tomorrow, I would probably leave Sat. around noon and stay nearby in a motel. My email is bvconnell@sbcglobal.net
Vicky, Don't know if you've left yet, but this is how I go when I drive up to Mich. I've found the turnpike is the easiest, Ohio/Penn. turnpikes. That way you always know where rest area's are and gas. and its not a hard drive.
Good morning all. Some of you may have already seen this but I thought it would be a FUN way to start the day while we wait to see our eaglea
This guy who made this is hilarious...made lots of pretty fun videos for the Vancouver forum but hasn't been on for over a month now. As usual they are now having heated discussions over where he went and why he left. I have miised his humor there greatly!!!
Good morning everyone. I just tried to call Brad again but got his voice mail so I will try again in a little bit. Hope we can get this thing up and running today. I know our time is drawing nigh about the chances to see our eaglets and would love to have that opportunity before they head on.
Good Morning all!! SHARON, I thought you had signed off for the night so I didn't answer any questions about Hugo. SUZANNE I had something to ask you or tell you, but I've forgotten what it was, should have posted it last night cause your an early bird. WOW, I think Vicky (Ill.) is going to make the trip. I need coffee and I'm out of it!
Good morning all. Glo did you get my message I purchased a mug yesterday? I love watching Hugo. Other things make me sick but not watching that fellow eat and grow. Wow Vicky IL. is making the trip. I sure hope our weather here holds out for her. Yesterday paper said thunderstorms all week. Hope she get to see the tree, and EAGLETS AND EAGLES after that long trip. Say a prayer she does. Sharon where's you Big Easy Button? Mits still at the ocean? What's the weather going to be there?

I ordered my mugs the day before everyone else when I decided to turn it into a shop. I will post on here when mine arrive, then others will get some idea of timeframe.
I have ordered from cafe Press for someone else before, actually its a fish mug...anyway, came timely and well packaged.
Suzanne Actually when I look at my tracking, it arrived at my nearby post office at 4 am today....says out for delivery. SO I think it will arrive today or tomorrow at the latest. nearby is NOT my town, but it is only 20 minutes away from me. OH I am excited!!!I'll let you know when to pour the coffee
I'm waiting for a mouse pad that instead of white around outside it has "blue". To remind me of the BLUE SCREEN lol but I want eagles and eaglets on it too. Oh I want I want so much lol.

# 490 .. Suz did you get on the national zoo panda cam?? If not just put fonz in the browser it takes you right to a page with animal pictures and click the panda pic (not the 1 at the bottom thats for advertisment)If you click on the animals at the bottom of the page takes you to different cams..
Ugly Bald Cardinal back out here again. Bless her heart. I hope she already has her mate because I don't think a new one would be interested. I can't see any new growth of feathers coming back.
Good Late Morning out there in Eagleland. Sorry to see no cam working! My MUG left Columbus OHIO this morning! Can't wait to fill it up with coffee - moreso just hold it and look at our babies!!!! GLO YouTube video was great! I need to look at the others later today. "Here comes Momma" - loved it. I will be out of here until after lunchtime. Keep talking.
Nope, it was too far off the coast, did get some cool clouds formations, several hours before it passed by and I did bungee the furniture outside, just in case it decided to move closer when I was asleep. Its passed by Cape Cod this a.m., no reports of damage.
Posting this hoping to be 500 ..lol Suz ok, have been watching them this AM and they are outside right now, guess the insides being cleaned..Morning Jo
Wow,this page is getting long. I think I'm in for a Sunday evening trip to the tree-who else is going??Can we park at the front of NCTC or will they run us out?5 0r 6 pm-let me know details,I will be finished working by then, tired but ready to look for eagles.Glad everyone is getting mugs, haven't had time to look at them-I have ordered lots of stuff from Cafepress before, mostly t-shirts,always got stuff quickly. At least it's not as hot today, still pretty warm, though-been outside since 6 cutting flowers for the weekend.Check back later-gotta work now.Hope cam comes back up.Nilla-I'm in Shepherdstown on Sunday mornings, not Saturdays.
Wouldnt that be great if Steven or Steve would meet us there on Sunday and we could get into the NCTC closer to the nest and have alot better vision along that road near the child care building..Who knows if i have the jeep might just take a jaunt cross the field with Jo riding shot gun hit a bump and land her in the nest...LMAO
Well ,if Jo lands in the nest she must stay up there until she collects all the turtle shells and other goodies that are up there!!Who has the connections to call "the Steves" and see if we can at least park out in the entrance to NCTC
Ok I will post a mouse pad with blue sky and clouds Sat afternoon, when I also change out the large mug design. Have it all saved to hard drive. W.VaVicky Do not feel like you have to order this one...not exactly the shade of blue you are looking for LOL but I will post it Sat pm. Half to take th eother one down then though.
Hugo is standing up i think practicing standing on 1 leg now & then.. His crop looks full so he has been fed.. Mits any reports? I saw the elephants inside eating.. Tia was up a tree and at the blue swimin pool thought he was gona jump in and splash mom..
Floral we usually we park along the road right before the big bend when the NCTC isnt open..Can see the tree from there..Throw a lawn chair in your vehicle or blanket. But hopefully we can get into NCTC with some luck. Might be the last trip over til nest season Steven PLEASE!!!!!!!! YOUR HOMEMADE PIE IS WAITNG APPLE.. YUM YUM
Paula, I have emailed and called them and so far to no avail. I have left a message with Brad this morning as John is in Jamaica! I would be so grateful if they would just let us know something.
I am not doing any t shirts or totes now out of respect for Paula and eagle momsters who will be making something from Todd's pictures, but I really don't know when. She started a poll through eagle momsters last night about products etc.
Anyway. I will custom design for anyone what they want, BUT I do not have access to Todd's pictures at this point. I will however get your item finished and out to you quickly.
I can make them and send you a sample photo of what I would put onit. You name it...and then if you like it, add to store front for a short period of time where you can purchase and proceeds go to NCTC.
Depends on how many orders etd I get...how long this offer will stand though. ya know its just me here!!! LOL
back is starting to do better, now that I'm on prednisone (a steroid) but I don't like what it does to me otherwise: can't sleep and I'm ravenous! thank you for asking :-)
Oh Vick im am so xcited your coming... Jo you know it babe with bells on!!!!!! Love ur sense of humor and will get along just great with us ding a lings.. Everyone say alil prayer that Vick driving all this way WE HAVE A GREAT TIME SEEING THE KIDS N LIBERTY & BELLE... you driving a 10 hour drive should be enough to get Steve to meet us.. right Jo...
Just spoke with Brad and he didn't even know what I was talking about with the cam being down. He is going to try to call John on his cell phone to find out the contact person in Denver. It doesn't look good getting the camera back up anytime soon.
Mits i am watching the penguins they setting around waiting on the feeding.. you know its live at 10:30 CALI time.. you saw it yesterday didnt you?? They patiently waitng..lol Dont forget to turn up sound.
Bummer on the camera...I think they are just about done with us eaglemaniacs for this season LOL.about the BLOG
I think we need to stay right here as long as we can.
If and when we move there has already been a BLOG for the Shepherdstown eagles set up on blogger by me early in June...actually it ihas had almost 5000 hits. Several of our videos captured by Sharon and uploaded by me are ther. If you watch them on the BLOG you don't have to use your hard drive space to store them but do have access to them anytime
http://gloandtheeaglemomsters.blogspot.com/
You are all always welcome to go ther, and if we need to move I would invite you to move there.
Having said that though This is where everyone is used to coming. This is what many people have bookmarked who may only visit occasionally. This is where Steve has already put in a tremendous amount of time and work. This is where our eagles will return in the spring!!! yes they will if they find the welcome mat is out and we have been waiting JMHO
Personally i feel this is "OUR " NEST and as long as it stays up here is where i want to stay, but Thanks for the offer Birdgirl.. Besides dont know if they have atime out corner for Mits over there..LOL Oh and Ms Sharon saying that as i adjust my halo and fluff my wings..
#545...lol Mits they are cleaning the sea otter rocks and washing it down.. hope penguines are next!! Here is the site for any who missed it yesterday live from San Diego zoo http://www.mbayaq.org/efc/efc_otter/otter_cam.asp Lots a live cams and sound
Yea, but it might be a good hide out place. Nilla, somehow I can't see the halo and the wings. Are you looking in a magic mirror? How's your daughter feeling/
Awww Mits she isnt doing well.. Female as i said and we all know what that means.. I just wish instead of so many D&C's they would just give her a Hysto and get it over with . She doesnt want any more childern heck NATHAN will be 17 in October. I knew yersterday she wasnt going to be working today when she left..
glo A trip to the nest site in Spring would be nice, except not a possiblity for me. I haven't been able to work since the middle of March, so money's T-I-G-H-T. But I definitely will purchase something from your store, because I believe in supporting this nest we have claimed!
suzanne I understand your feelings about cutting down trees that have nests in them. Palm trees are ridiculously popular here in Phoenix, and everyone likes them to be all neat and pretty -- which is NOT how they are supposed to be naturally. They are, for lack of a better description, apartment complexes for birds. All of the old leaves which turn brown and droop downward, making a sort of "skirt" around the tree, create nooks and crannies which are inhabited by all manner of birds. I really hate seeing the trimmers up the palm trees, because they just use chainsaws and let everything fall to the ground.
One of the worst days in my life was about 2 years ago: I was walking onto the property where I worked, and noticed the palm tree trimmers had been at work. As I walked through the courtyard, I noticed all these nests and dead baby birds that the trimmers had allowed to simply fall the 30+ feet... I complained in great detail and often to the facilities manager, and they did at least change the trimming to be done outside of "baby bird season." But I can never forget what I saw, it was just so horrific...
If you truly want to make your case about having trees cut down, particularly between late February and late August, cite the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. It is a federal law which states, in essence, that native birds cannot be harmed, displaced, removed, killed, or otherwise bothered IN ANY WAY. The violator can receive up to five years in prison (FEDERAL prison, to boot) and a $10k fine. If you are interested, I can send you the file... This Act is something I have to know and completely abide by in my work as a wild bird rehabilitator, and believe me, I have used it before to postpone the removal of a tree.
sharon Storks eat fish, snakes, lizards, small rodents, etc.
Free lemonade? The city just gives out lemonade when the temperature gets to a certain point? It's a bit of an odd choice, considering citric acid dehydrates :-P The only thing they do here in Phoenix (which is the northern end of the Sonoran desert) when it gets really hot is say "Don't go outside".
Your bald cardinal could be suffering from an overeager male attempting to mate too often, or maybe some injury or disease. I really can't say without seeing the bird...
norma The woodpeckers in question in Arkansas would be the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker. It was recently re-discovered after supposedly becoming extinct in the 1960s. There have been all kinds of media coverage on this issue. Just Google "ivory-billed woodpecker" and you'll get everything you never knew you needed to know LOL! As far as the judge halting the construction of irrigation lines in that area, I think he or she made the right decision. These woodpeckers cannot simply be relocated. If relocation were such a simple and successful method of protecting any species, there would not be a need for wildlife refuges, preserves, and parks. I'm sure the irrigation project was begun several years ago, as those types of projects go through many stages before actually being done; this would have been long before the rediscovery of the IBW. I was a little suprised at your comment on who needed irrigation, people or woodpeckers. I am of the opinion that humans are the interlopers, humans have ruined this planet in a very short time, and that things like stalling irrigation projects to ensure the survival of any species is a great idea. You know that developers want to drill wells for oil in Alaska, right? What do you think that will do to the wildlife there? To all of the bald eagles that live and reproduce and hunt there? Maybe I misunderstood what you were trying to say, but that's what I thought. Keep in mind that I have hardly slept in the last three days, so I'm a little punchy!!!
vicky in IL When did you live in C. Springs? I'm from Denver originally, born and raised. Moved to AZ in 1996.
all Since many have you have revealed your ages either by actual number or by admitting to grandchildren and even great-grandchildren, I thought I would add mine in to the mix, to be fair ;-P I'll be 34 in September. My mother doesn't have grandchildren, she had grandDOGS. She even has a Tshirt that says "Ask me about my granddog" and another with a picture of my mini doxie that says "I love my grandma"!
If anyone/everyone out there wants to jump over to Nest Watchers, I will be adding a new post in a few minutes. Have a couple of cute pictures of Hugo that I want to put up :-) What I meant by "moving over" to my blog was simply that we just might explode this one! If it stops working for whatever reason, I just wanted to make sure that people know they do have a place to go. "Where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came" as the song goes!
Bird girl I like long posts just fine AND yours are always informative and wonderful I am saddened about the story about the baby birds and their nests...glad you spoke up though...That was just awful
Vicki from Oakwood ILIts you I want to talk to about sharing a trip to W VA in the spring. I will have a 4 hour trip to you...bet I can almost come right to your door though, Oakwood is Not that Big a town LOL. So be thinking about a return trip next spring with a tag along. wishing you a safe and fun time this weekend
Glo there really needs to be some planning on the part of us who live here for this get together. I have put things like that together for online chat room parties in Florida and other places.. BUT you and who ever else decides to come needs a definate plan and dates.. Hotels are not expensive here and could get a great rate for a group.. Just some thoughts ramblin in my mind..Nilla
Nilla OK Hopefully either I or Vicki or any and all who are planning a trel weekend in the spring will remember, and get this all co-ordinated. I know I can't plan anything for this fall, although sounds really fun. BUT if I have til spring and we know we have a new nest with surviving eaglets and hopefully Our liberty and Belle, I can start saving time and money now. There are several on here I really hope this can get co-ordinated with...would be wonderful
I was in Colorado Springs in 1994 through 1997, loved it totally! Would like to return to stay in the future! My husband went to the Nazarene Bible College in the springs, I worked he went to school!
suzanne the eggs you're thinking of are the GECKO eggs I found. while both are descended from dinosaurs, I don't think I'll be hatching any birds from those eggs ;-) I did find a dove with a dislocated shoulder on my front porch, you remembered correctly!
vicky C. Springs is nice enough...having the military base, Air Force Academy and Olympic Training Center made it somehow more expensive though... I loved going to Garden of the Gods, I went into Cave of the Winds once but that was enough for me -- I'm claustrophobic. Took the cog railway up to the top of Pike's Peak -- that was WAAAAAY cool, because the cloud cover was BELOW us when we reached the summit! C. S. is so overgrown now, though, blended into Castle Rock and on up north all the way to Broomfield and further. It will be one big strip city from C. S. to Ft Collins (where I went to college) just like LA is now...
Forgot about Garden of the Gods, it was beautiful also. Went to a club there on the grounds, was able to eat a delicious dinner with those wonderful views at sunset, absolutely "Garden of the Gods"
Marie we are planning a visit to the nest Sunday evening..I am in Martinsburg.. For anyone who hasnt seen this check it out the Balloon fest here in town : www.martinsburgairshow.com
Listening to the song "Pink Cadillac" and dancing around Hips swingin left n right woooo fancy foot work.. hands in air... twistin hipsss yeahhhh shakin tush... OUT OF BREATH NOW..lol I KNOW MITS I AM WATCHING
Marie By latte mug do you mean one with a little like pedestal under it? I don't see those available to customize. They do have a smaller mug, but it doesn't have a pedestal. It's on the store front if you want to take alook. many of the designs will change over time, some this weekend, some next weekend. I added several new items last night actually.
Listening to a great radio station justa dancing to "Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress" Grabs Mits and heads to dance floor..Yeeehawww shake it Mitssss.. Sorry got carried away still waitng on penguins.
mits sorry, I get mixed up as to whom said what when I read the comments...since I tend to read them only once a day, it gets lengthy and I get lost. HAHAH! And to norma sorry i addressed the post to the wrong person!
paula Have you taken the cog railway up Pike's? The changing of the aspen leaves is a HUGE tourist attraction all over Colorado. That, and the elk bugling, which I could never figure out -- why would people come from all over the world (really!!) to hear the mating call of a large type of deer, especially when it sounds so silly! Elk are wonderful creatures, though, I have been lucky to have sighted more than a few herds back in my camping days. Hiked Gray's Peak in high school, one of the "Fourteeners" in the Rocky Mountains, and hung out with a little mountain goat family that had decided people were just fine by them! And I got to see a pair of male bighorn sheep butt heads once...very impressive and louder than you'd expect! And I did submit names for the BW osprey chicks... can't remember what at the moment, though, LOL.. I remember they were all Latin words, meaning Truth and Strength or something along those lines...
suzanne the dove is fine, we're just making sure she's good and fat before we let her go out in the Big Bad World :-)
all i have to take off now, but I'll check in later on... I'm going to post Hugo pics on Nest Watchers in a bit...
I was just looking through some comments on Nest Watchers, and I was amazed to discover that MY BLOG HAS BEEN SPAMMED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Somehow, I've managed to get multiple comments made by "Anonymous" with various messages like "loved your blog, here's more information" and then a word hyperlinked to some off-the-wall site like poker gambling or health insurance sales and such.
IF ANY OF YOU HAVE A BLOG OF YOUR OWN, BE SURE TO TURN ON COMMENT MODERATION TO AVOID BLOG-SPAM.
I did not have moderation turned on because I didn't want to make it difficult for you, my friends, to post comments on my blog. Unfortunately, I will now have to turn it on. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

***Thank you for this wonderful award! I'd like to thank my mother, my husband, my cat, my dogs, my birds, my...what's that? I'm out of time? But I'm not finished giving my acceptance speech! Hey, wait! You can't drag me off the stage! I'm not done!!!!******* :-P BG

I am thinking that by the time we get a new blog, we could be over 1000. That would be cool, especially since we have nothing to report on eagles. I love this blog and the peace and serenity I get from here. If it were to get ugly here, I might would be forced to watch naked mole rats or something!
Don't see a definite trend to the short thread, so I guess I will just blurt out the question I have been harboring...
Does anyone know how the birdlets are? ...what's wrong with the camera or the blog threads (just occured to me that Steve or his Mom might be home sick)?? ...or any other information relevant to the moment at the Shepherdtown Eagles Nest location??
Sorry, I'm still on a modem, fairly fast line but definitely not broadband, and I can't do too many 600+ Blog threads....
Yeah Mits was cool did you hear her say they usually stand in a line to get a fish? But today was ascrambled line they were hungry.. How they keep track is beyond me as to who is who.. Seems they got their 3 fish and left..
Yes Bird Girl the Springs have changed since I've been there. It is still a paradise on average temps annually! So neat to shovel snow (rarely!) in your short sleeves though!
BIRDGIRL---I agree w/you about the ivory-billed woodpecker----I wanted to ask your opinion--re: real sighting----then I noticed the paper yesterday had the great story about the judge ruling--work must stop, etc.-----I am certain, I told someone that was a GOOD THING----would still be interested in your thoughts on the ivory-billed woodpecker---I went into the Cornell site yesterday, lots of info--- wanting contributions----wish I could----Also enjoyed reading the posts between you and Suzanne--cutting trees, etc.----soon our beautiful state w/be one big housing development or strip mall--and I agree w/ Suzanne's reasoning as to the attitude of some-----I'm sorry, I get so carried away----Really hope you are feeling better soon, I think it's always a BUMMER to be ill in the summer, Take Care--

SHARON To my knowledge he has not fledged yet. Sometimes you can see either Mom/Dads shadow over head, keeping a close eye on the little guy. They have been very good parents also.

«Oldest ‹Older 401 – 600 of 801 Newer› Newest»I think some of you have been "taking initials" to the extreme! See what happens with no eagles to watch!
Vicky, not to big, but it is a beautiful town. You will love it.
Well it certainly has 5 special eagles that make it TOTALLY WONDERFUL!Oakwood IL is 1500 if we counted the pets perhaps!
I am REALLY tempted to try and make this trip! It would be my ultimate dream to see the "kids!"
TTFN - TA TA FOR NOW.
HTSET - HOPE TO SEE EAGLES TOMORROW!
Vicky-IL You need to contact FloralGirl who lives in Shepherdstown for information. I just looked at her profile but there isn't an email address & I don't have it.

Hugo is up walking around. I have never seen him doing that before. Oh, Jo, he just did a poop shoot!
Sounds good to me Mema Jo!
Parents just flew in with Hugo. Never seen that before either. What do storks eat? He is looking a little aggressive with them.
FloralGirl, can I get directions to the tree?
Oh, he is flapping his wings and looks like he is mantling but I don't know if they do that. He keeps going after his parent, pecking at them. Do they regurg their food to them. This is pretty funny looking. Okay, can't get stuck on a stork too.
Yes, that was me that deleted the last comment. Misspelled word!
Okay, I guess I am not going to get any info on Hugo tonight. Really going to bed now. Goodnight, my friends of fine feathers!
I'm going to see if I can pull this off and get there. I'm a traveler, use to drive 1100 miles straight from Colorado Springs to South Bend Indiana many many times! Like getting out like that. You can tell I'm a MEMA!
Sharon They do messy poop shoots - right on the nest area! LOL
I have never seen him eat & I don't think I want to-- If he eats, then you will be the CROP in his throat.

I do not have AAA, but I'll get back on here tomorrow, I would probably leave Sat. around noon and stay nearby in a motel. My email is bvconnell@sbcglobal.net
I have been checking out Shepherdstown on the internet
I've written down your email Mema Jo! I'll be in touch with you and let you know my progress!
Goodnight Eagle Land!
Jo this is amust for you

Good morning everyone. I just tried to call Brad again but got his voice mail so I will try again in a little bit. Hope we can get this thing up and running today. I know our time is drawing nigh about the chances to see our eaglets and would love to have that opportunity before they head on.
Suzanne Yep good way to start the day with a smile. Glad you followed the link and watched.
Oh my it is so quiet here this morning. Have I been sent out to pasture alone?

Suzanne Are you from PA. I see a completion of your order for July 20 if that's you. Not sure where your confirmation is, but if you are from PA they do have a record and completed it yesterday the way it looks to me. Would expect it next week sometime.
Glo That's it Gotherdone...lol
My mug was leaving from Columbus, Ohio, this a.m.

Still no cam, no word from Brad. ARRGGGHHH! Any suggestions as to what else we can do?
Ugly Bald Cardinal back out here again. Bless her heart. I hope she already has her mate because I don't think a new one would be interested. I can't see any new growth of feathers coming back.
H---!No, Nilla, Tai and Mei are out of the tree and were in the kiddy pool.
SHARON Maybe you can catch her and make her a wig:):):)

DID I post 500??How can you even tell??Who's counting?What do I win??a big pitcher of G&T???
Wouldnt that be great if Steven or Steve would meet us there on Sunday and we could get into the NCTC closer to the nest and have alot better vision along that road near the child care building..Who knows if i have the jeep might just take a jaunt cross the field with Jo riding shot gun hit a bump and land her in the nest...LMAO
GO back and count each one..lol No under the Weds 19 July number of comments...
How long before it crashes?????

Without reading the blogs yet today, I have just sent off my email to NCTC asking about when the cam will be back up.
That "Mema Jo" does a good job looking out for all of us! THANKS!!
Hoping to leave Sat. noonish!
Paula, I have emailed and called them and so far to no avail. I have left a message with Brad this morning as John is in Jamaica! I would be so grateful if they would just let us know something.
Hi everyone...
We have LOL for Mema Jo!!!
Hello Bird Girl! How is it going with your back?
Vicki from Oakwood
what do you want for a mouse pad...tell me
I am not doing any t shirts or totes now out of respect for Paula and eagle momsters who will be making something from Todd's pictures, but I really don't know when.
LOL
and I want to chat with you about trip to W Va maybe next spring when we know the nest is full, and maybe young are big enough to see. We could share gas and motel expenses etc.
anyone with Oakwood in common, has a lot in common
back is starting to do better, now that I'm on prednisone (a steroid) but I don't like what it does to me otherwise: can't sleep and I'm ravenous! thank you for asking :-)
Oh Vick im am so xcited your coming... Jo you know it babe with bells on!!!!!! Love ur sense of humor and will get along just great with us ding a lings.. Everyone say alil prayer that Vick driving all this way WE HAVE A GREAT TIME SEEING THE KIDS N LIBERTY & BELLE... you driving a 10 hour drive should be enough to get Steve to meet us.. right Jo...
I wonder if we should move our blogging elsewhere until Steve comes back, since no new threads will be up until then. We can use Nest Watchers...
http://nestwatchers.blogspot.com
Jo call me on my cell when you get in please.
Does anyone have a still of Spunky safely in the nest since that bad storm mid week. Could you send me a picture if you have one Thanks
Just spoke with Brad and he didn't even know what I was talking about with the cam being down. He is going to try to call John on his cell phone to find out the contact person in Denver. It doesn't look good getting the camera back up anytime soon.
Vicky from Commode town
You can email me at pccompton@yahoo.com and I will also give you my cell #....
Definitely ready for Sunday eve,
Jo,
You have my work #, you can call me here today or tomorrow, I wrote yours down but can't find it now.
FloralGirl,
Would love to see you at the nest too!
Thanks for the due diligence Sharon. At least we have some sort of info, good or bad!

I have several pictures from the day after the storm. Not sure if they are Spunky though. Think they are.
Commode e-mail me and i will send my cell # also..
Sharon you should have told him about the homemade pie maybe he would have moved faster...lol
Glo, you've got mail.
Sharon could you send a few of the closer clearer looking ones...if that's possible LOL. Thanks
I agree with Glo, I think we are ok to stay right here! (As long as we don't blow it up!)
What is the longest we have had to date? Anyone remember?
Personally i feel this is "OUR " NEST and as long as it stays up here is where i want to stay, but Thanks for the offer Birdgirl.. Besides dont know if they have atime out corner for Mits over there..LOL Oh and Ms Sharon saying that as i adjust my halo and fluff my wings..
NILLAIts 8:40a.m. out in California right now, check back at 1:30p.m. our time.
I am so jealous that Vicky has such a cool nickname - Commode! Very good!
I do have pics of 2 eaglets and a parent in the nest the morning after the storm. I have some of 1 eaglet before daylight.
I think this is our "nest" too. I want to stay here as long as we can.
LOL 3 hours diff HUH Mits gee i am so glad i have you to depend on, cause i am having really bad redhead day..lol
Nilla, thought this was the Montery site. San Diego is a long way from Montery and has its own site with panda cams, monkey cams and elephant cams.
I dont know just look at it told ya im having BIG TIME redhead moments this mornng NOT use to be up this early..
I am so grateful for emails!
This is going to be a long post, everyone....sorry...
glo A trip to the nest site in Spring would be nice, except not a possiblity for me.
"Where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came" as the song goes!
p.s.
suzanne the picture is of a Gambel's quail chick, I believe it is two days old in that photo... the bird on my front porch was a dove :-)
wow! that was comment # 555!
I hear ya, Nilla. Been thru it,glad I'm on the other side of it.
Bird girl I like long posts just fine AND yours are always informative and wonderful I am saddened about the story about the baby birds and their nests...glad you spoke up though...That was just awful
Vicki from Oakwood IL Its you I want to talk to about sharing a trip to W VA in the spring. I will have a 4 hour trip to you...bet I can almost come right to your door though, Oakwood is Not that Big a town LOL. So be thinking about a return trip next spring with a tag along. wishing you a safe and fun time this weekend
Will be deleting that comment soon as Mits see it...lol
Spring sounds wonderful. I would love to. I could probably work something out if given enough notice.
Mits they are cleaning the penguin Doo Doo with ahose wont be long now..lol
yippee We have our first $25 dollar check at least in orders.
You all keep those mugs now. LOL. Mine hasn't come yet, but I'm watchin for my mailman..hope it is today and not tomorrow.
This si so much fun and so exciting. I sure hope you all will like your stuff.
suzanne, i may have your email but just in case, send me a message...
azbirdgirl@yahoo.com
Nilla I'm confused, what playpen are you talking about?????
GLo, it's a date!
Pandas are relaxing inside their den with a fruitcicle.
I was in Colorado Springs in 1994 through 1997, loved it totally! Would like to return to stay in the future! My husband went to the Nazarene Bible College in the springs, I worked he went to school!
Spring is on for me gals! With Glo in tow!
suzanne the eggs you're thinking of are the GECKO eggs I found. while both are descended from dinosaurs, I don't think I'll be hatching any birds from those eggs ;-) I did find a dove with a dislocated shoulder on my front porch, you remembered correctly!
BIRD GIRL It was me that asked that question about the irrigation and the woodpecker, not Norma.
Mits ô¿⌐ wink
Vicky from CommodeTown,
I have visited Colorado Springs several times...loved it. So beautiful with the Aspens and pines and Pikes Peak.
Bought a pair of 18k gold Aspen leaf earrings, still my favorite piece of jewelry.
18 more posts till 600
NILLA 45 minutes to penquin feed time!!!!
Suzanne,
Those chicks will stay around till Sept or so at least, that's the good news!
Would love to be able to see Lil' Bit Fledge. Did anyone else here submit names for their "Name the Osprey Chicks contest?"
Listening to the song "Pink Cadillac" and dancing around Hips swingin left n right woooo fancy foot work.. hands in air... twistin hipsss yeahhhh shakin tush... OUT OF BREATH NOW..lol I KNOW MITS I AM WATCHING
Mits that was suppose to be BBGL for Be Back Gone Lou lol oh that's mema jo
I got a confirmation order number in my regular yahoo email addy that you all have. Ordered last night in mailbox today.
Cool,
Just saw an Osprey return to the New York cam....
Nilla I sure hope the pic is up when you do that LMBO I's got to see it I's got to see it lol.
Listening to a great radio station justa dancing to "Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress" Grabs Mits and heads to dance floor..Yeeehawww shake it Mitssss.. Sorry got carried away still waitng on penguins.
You gals are full of it today!
Here dancing to shark music, I love the beat, I'll think I will give a 10....
mits sorry, I get mixed up as to whom said what when I read the comments...since I tend to read them only once a day, it gets lengthy and I get lost.
I'm going to post Hugo pics on Nest Watchers in a bit...
have a good day everyone!

HEY EVERYONE PLEASE READ THIS!!!
FYI: To see where a link goes to, without clicking it and activating the link, either hover your mouse on the link -- look for the URL, or web address, at the bottom left of your window -- or right-click on the link, click "Properties" and you will see the full URL. Safe and happy blogging, everyone...

I am thinking that by the time we get a new blog, we could be over 1000. That would be cool, especially since we have nothing to report on eagles. I love this blog and the peace and serenity I get from here. If it were to get ugly here, I might would be forced to watch naked mole rats or something!
SHARON NO KIDDING, FRAP AWAY BABE!!!!
http://www.mbayaq.org/efc/efc_splash/splash_cam.asp live penguin cam with sound
Are we watching the Monterey Bay penguins?
Oh look at those cuties waiting patiently
yes Sharon , lots to see and hear with different live cams..
Back again, out of breath from reloading.....
Jim
Well, that was cool, they are really polite little penquins.
Yeah Mits was cool did you hear her say they usually stand in a line to get a fish? But today was ascrambled line they were hungry.. How they keep track is beyond me as to who is who.. Seems they got their 3 fish and left..
Aw look Mits 1 jumped up on that guys lap..
Yes Bird Girl the Springs have changed since I've been there. It is still a paradise on average temps annually! So neat to shovel snow (rarely!) in your short sleeves though!
BIRDGIRL---I agree w/you about the ivory-billed woodpecker----I wanted to ask your opinion--re: real sighting----then I noticed the paper yesterday had the great story about the judge ruling--work must stop, etc.-----I am certain, I told someone that was a GOOD THING----would still be interested in your thoughts on the ivory-billed woodpecker---I went into the Cornell site yesterday, lots of info--- wanting contributions----wish I could----Also enjoyed reading the posts between you and Suzanne--cutting trees, etc.----soon our beautiful state w/be one big housing development or strip mall--and I agree w/ Suzanne's reasoning as to the attitude of some-----I'm sorry, I get so carried away----Really hope you are feeling better soon, I think it's always a BUMMER to be ill in the summer, Take Care--
I missed that one , Nilla. I really like the SHARK-CAM. AHHHHH! peace and serenity, love that music. Along time ago were we up in the 800's of blogs????
Me too Mits but not now my caffine high is wearing off and really getting tired..lol The OuterBay cam is nice to with great music.. Enjoyed the penguins so..making my Xmas list and penguin is at the top...
Maybe we could all pitch in and get Nilla that penguin. That would be a really cool present.
Just watching the CT osprey. Has he fledged yet?
Let the love, peace and serenity grow in you, one day at a time!!
HEY---I'm NO. 627---COOL---Jo, some day I will be No. 1---I was attempting to read the comments backward---(NOT EASY)---Did I read that we could go sit w/Nilla around the EAGLE TREE???---Yes, Lisa (my daugh.) lives in Shepherdstown & CINDI lives close enough to drive---she works in Winc.-----Great---if I should see Spunky--I WOULD THINK I HAD DIED & GONE TO HEAVEN!!!!! I w/need info--Lisa has been there---near the Bavarian, right?
SHARON To my knowledge he has not fledged yet. Sometimes you can see either Mom/Dads shadow over head, keeping a close eye on the little guy. They have been very good parents also.
Bird Girl and I posted "contiuation comments" to this blog on Tuesday's, and it is mucho, mucho faster loading....
Jim
I'm all for pitching in getting Nilla the penquin if it keeps her out of trouble.
Just watching Hugo (yeah, I am all over the place). How in God's name do those spindly little legs hold up that body?
I may be wrong but it looks like something is different with 30 second cam, like it is trying to focus, maybe wishful thinking on my part
I hope this post doesn't BLOW---This a.m.---In AUDUBON mag. I saw pic of E w/beak open--just beautiful---listed "Arthur Morris Birds as Art---look it up--kinds of birds---I took off to FL--GREAT---SOMEHOW--I got into EARTHMAN TV--it ROCKS---song, EARTHMAN GOT THE BLUES---(Nilla w/be dancing)---It's about environment----GREAT--TV great for kids, teachers--THE STONES--I kid you not----ENJOY!
Definitely not the same pics I have been seeing for 2 days! None of them have had that many lines through them. KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED!
Think, pleasant thoughts. Cum By Ya, MY Lord Cum By Ya, Yes Sharon I feel the peace, unless the darn cam doesn't come up then I may look like your cardinal pulling my hair out
Yes, Mits, I started singing it! Hopefully with the picture looking so screwed up, somebody somewhere is trying to reset it!
Thanks for the invite, JIM, but since I'm not having any problems here, I'm staying put.
