Good Morning Eagle Buds!!!

Can't get the cam up and I see that JO has informed STEVE et al about the problem.

Wishing you all a very good day as I prepare for the starting bell of Doggy Play Day.

SANDI, so happy to see that the candy is paying off for you. Sam's dentist may someday thank you, but that's okay!☺

LYNNE2, I too, am hoping you're feeling much, much better today!

Prayers for all in need!!!

Thanks Steve for the new thread and thanks Kay for the call over.

Good early mid-morning.

Thank you Steve for the fresh Tuesday thread and congratulations to Kay on her newest feather. Perhaps Kay can use it to play with Penny and Malcolm -- a featherweight game of chase.

Off to forage for food.

Good Morning to all ♥
Thank you Steve for the fresh new thread and Congratulations Kay on your new feather.

Can you believe that again today I have no plans - This is getting old hat - I need to get out and about. I think rain is in the forecast for a day or two. We need sunshine.

Really hope to hear from Lynne2 sometime today - Original plan, I think, was to remove a stent today. Lynne's discomfort has been going on too long - I'm sure she will agree.

Sandi - have a terrific Tuesday! Buy more candy if you need to....

Shirley - is today a bowling day? If it is - hoping your team scores big.

Kay - good dog walking weather. I missed your comment as to Malcolm being there. OR is Judie just mentioning the game for them.

Judie - hope you don't need to go far to forage for your food and that you have a good list to follow.

Live feed just came up for me - NOT the still cam BBL

Good morning! Presently 68 and bright sunshine. Beautiful weather!

I am with you, Jo. Nothing on the agenda for today. Do need to go to the grosssssserie store and may go shopping for shoes. Need new, comfortable brown shoes. I like the ones I have but actually not comfortable, at least not for long periods! Something I can wear with brown slacks to church.

Do hope Lynne does report in soon! Worry about her!

Have a great day!

Good early evening to all
THANKS STEVE for the new thread and CONGRATS TO KAY on the beautiful new feather!

Its been a misty moisty rainy day. I haven’t been motivated to do too awful much today. I have done a bit around the house and went to PT. there is plenty I could do, but I didn’t. I DID finish reading my book, downloaded another and put a hold on one at the library….
Back to work tomorrow, but only 3 days this week. Then it’s the weekend again.
Olivia and Niki have their color run this Friday. The weather is supposed to be nice.
We had a surprise last night, but not a good one. The downstairs, as you may remember is its own separate living space, an apartment. The ceiling is a drop ceiling…you know with tiles. Tom and I replaced a bunch of the tiles earlier this year.
Well Michael’s cat, peanut had a habit of going up into the ceiling tiles and so we worked on closing all of that off to her. She just didn’t need to be doing that.
So last night, I was all snuggled down here on the sofa, book in hand, wrapped in my warm snugglies….Tom was playing on the computer and watching a football game. THEN the kids came upstairs with this “look”…..they giggled. But then looked serious.
The ceiling in the kitchen fell.
Yep you read that correctly.
It fell.
Not sure the kids think Peanut was up there walking around? But all of a sudden it came down, crash bang boom….big badda boom……and thankfully the refrigerator caught the light fixture…if it had not, half of the ceiling would have been on the floor.

We cleaned up and secured the light fixture back in place. So now Tom has something else to fix….this doesn’t please him…..but such is life.
Need to watch the 4p.m. news and then get on with the evening, dinner, dishes, etc.
Will check in later.

Hugs

Judie said...

Good almost scullery time.

Foraging accomplished. Recycling accomplished. Feet up accomplished.

Janet, so sorry the ceiling fell down. Not a fun thing to happen. Hope it gets repaired soon.

Does not seem the live cam is working or else the air is very still at the nest.

Congratulations to Master Elliot. And now the fun really begins with lots of adventures. Looks like another night of tv blahs, Jo.

Hope Sandi had a decent day at the school house.

Bye

I've had the live picture up for a couple of hours and not much has happened. I saw the white truck drive on the path in the grass and an occasional vehicle on the road. Barely a leaf is stirring. About as much going on around here too.

Hope we hear from Lynne2.

Congratulations to "our" grand Elliot on his new mobility.

Janet, when I came here to care for Mom, I was living in the unfinished ,except for a corner,of
the basement with a dropped ceiling. My cat thought that was where to go live after her harrowing ride from TX. My brother and I managed to block it off. I don't know what I would have done if it fell in on me while I was sleeping. Sorry you all have one more unfun thing to do.

The bear hunt in Fl only last two days they goal was 301 and they got 299 so halted it there were over three thousand licences given out 100. for resident of Fl and 300. for non residents
so sad but I guess bear aren't afraid of people and it wasn't a fair hunt in my books They go in peoples yards all the time and this is to try to thin out the population

Sandi said...

Hi all. Today was a good day with Sam. Not perfect, never will be perfect, but good.

Jo, how exciting with Elliot and those steps. Today 3, tomorrow a couple more and in a week or two, he'll be a full time biped!

Janet, sorry about the ceiling fix. Life with pets, right?

OK, I have been sitting on some news for a little over 2 weeks - didn't want to say anything until I was certain that it was actually going to pan out. But the phone call I just got means it's really going to happen and I am so excited that I just might explode if I don't tell everyone.

After the Greyhounds Reach the Beach event the weekend of 10/10-10/11, we submitted an application to Greyhound Pets of America - Delaware to foster a greyhound. Notice I said foster, not adopt. With 2 senior dachshunds, we are not in a position to adopt another dog. Older dogs = more health problems = bigger vet bills. But there is no cost associated with fostering - the rescue organization provides a crate, collar, leash, all meds (monthly heartworm & flea/tick), and pays for any vet bills. The dog will come to us spayed, with clean shiny teeth and a clean bill of health. However, she (we asked for a female since they're a little smaller and we've never had a big dog) will be right off the race track. That means she will have to be taught how to go up and down steps, how to live in a house rather than a crate, and how to be a pet.

This evening I got a call from the president of GPE-Delaware that all of our references checked out (neighbors and vet), explaining that someone would be in touch tomorrow about doing a home visit over the weekend, and letting me know that NEXT FRIDAY we will be getting our first foster dog!!

Before I submitted the application, I did email Lynne2 and Lori b/c I know they both do fostering. I wanted input from them about how NOT to get so attached to a foster that we can't say goodbye when it's time to send him/her to a forever home. They both offered excellent advice that I think (hope) I can follow.

So that's my big news! Once Gloria or Janie arrive, I will have stories that are much more fun to tell than Sam stories.

OK, time to watch some TV. Goodnight all - I'll see everyone in the early AM.

Mema Jo said...

That's Great Sandi - Close friend has 2 greyhounds - and a lot of funny stories.
You're taking on a big dog!! You and Denny will do great!! Have a doggie park next door
will be a plus on your home visit!

Just came back to say it is time for Jeopardy............... Nite

grannyblt said...

Exciting news Sandi.

glo said...

Sandi Oh I'm sure it will be Gloria lol. This is all the best news. I wish you them best of luck. It is not easy and I do wonder about a big dog with 2 little ones but with your heart for dogs in time you will get it worked out and whichever dog it is will be well on it's way to life in a home and adjustment down the road to a forever family.

Judie said...

Congratulations Sandi. No doubt at all that you and Denny and all your family and friends will be the best possible foster family/friends any critter could dream of having. Wishing you and your foster the best possible time together.

Time for me to visit my recliner, watch some late news, and then dent the pillows.

Wishing everyone a night of restful sleep.

JudyEddy said...

SANDI congrats on the new addition

Good evening,

Snuggled in my bed. One kitty settled nearby. Other one rummaging around behind the dresser or some such place.

In answer to questions asked earlier, there were counselors at the school. Really, all I know is what was reported in the news and the little bit Hunter shared. He does know the name of one of the boys involved.

Hunter did not see the three news crews at the school yesterday, although he had seen news reports before he went to school. Kathryn spotted them as she left.

I think today was pretty normal. However, there was definitely law enforcement presence at the school this morning.

stronghunter said...

Wow, Janet. I hope the ceiling fix is not too difficult.

Congratulations on becoming foster parents for doggies. Have fun.

Hi, Everyone,

Dropping in to say howdy. Judy, so very sorry to hear about your former co-worker. Prayers for her family and friends, and of course, for you.

Lynne2, hope you got the stent out today, and praying that you are feeling better. This has gone on too long! Prayers for you!

Lolly, glad the rain finally stopped. How's the ark coming along? LOL Our kids say that their back yard is like walking on a wet sponge. It sinks in when they step on it! Glad to hear that Skippi is better. How's Laurel doing with the new glasses?

Janet, so sorry about the ceiling collapse! Glad nobody got hurt!

Sandi, how exciting that you'll be fostering a greyhound!

Shirley, relieved to hear that all is well at Hunter's school. Sure could have been a much different story!

Have had an uneventful weekend, with not much happening here. It cooled down to about 80 here today, and was just overcast enough to keep the sun from getting things really hot. It ALMOST felt like fall.

Well, need to go watch some TV and wind down. Drank a bit too much caffeine today, and hope I sleep OK tonight. Have a good night, with SED. God bless.
I ♥ us!

Lolly said...

Getting on to say good night.

Wow, Sandi, that is some news! Wishing you the best with this new adventure.

Andy, Laurel is unable to wear her glasses. Apparantly the wrong prescription. Her eyes needed to be tested for glasses AFTER she they have healed. She is doing much better with the latest drops.

Okay, need to rest my eyes! Night all! SED,

Good Morning Eagle Buds

rain drops on the camera as well as at my house cold front came through yesterday

Sandi said...

Goodorming my eagle friends. Raining this morning but warm, we could even get a thunderstorm this afternoon.

Lynne2, I hope you are feeling like yourself today.

Glo, we also have concerns about a big dog with our 2 littles. But both doxies spend their time gated in the sunroom/office unless they are watching TV with us and are on the sofa or unless they're in our room for the night. Any interactions with the greyhound will be under supervision, esp. at first since greyhounds are bred to chase small animals. Also we will never allow the littles to be outside in the yard while a big dog that can run 40mph is on the loose.

Have agreat day all.

Janet said...

morning to all.

yes, my thoughts exactly, the ceiling falling was not good, but couldhave been so much worse. its fixable.

SANDI: what a great thought on the greyhounds! congrats on the decision.

rain seems to have let up a bit. I am sleepy, but moving. work today.

hope everyone has a great day!

glo said...

I hear you Sandi and love your doggie heart. You will have the stories and greyhounds are wonderful dogs.

Judie said...

Good morning.

Too funny. Raindrops on the nest cam look just like two scary eyeballs staring back at us. Perhaps Boris has been decorating for Halloween. Rain is heavy outside my window.

Congratulations on the bowling, Shirley. Was thinking about when you began and how far you've come now. Glad Hunter seems to be unfazed by the school threat.

Hi Andy.

Lolly, sure hope Laurel's eyes heal soon.

Sandi, the greyhound and the doxies will adapt and become best friends. I'm sure. People across from us some years ago adopted two racing greyhounds (just in time) and the only problem they ever had with them were the nails that scratched up the hardwood floors. They were beautiful and friendly and gentle.

Well, what to do on a rainy day? I know! Laundry! I am so happy I have laundry (:

Wishing everyone a great day.

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Planning to meet my friend Jeanne for lunch today. Jeanne is my friend who lost her 29-year-old daughter in September. I wanted to be sure Jeanne isn't sitting at home feeling depressed. Turns out she is so busy we had trouble finding a time we co could meet. She and Mike just got back from Myrtle Beach.

Jeanne still gets together with her play group friends, even though the children grew up long ago.

Checking in late today due to several lengthy phone calls re:insurance and medications. Mostly lengthy due to having to wait on line, grrrrr.

Howdeeeee! Shopped here at two place for low heel brown shoes. No luck! Today I went to Fort Worth, 4 th store finally had something to try on. Liked two pairs but my favorite of the two they did not have my size. I hate shoe shopping! All they have in stores are high heels and flats! Grrrrr! And, I wanted brown, beige or bone, they mostly have black.

Very windy today and we have been out gathering pecans. Not many this year. You do not get fgood crops two years in a row. Also, all the rains we had in the spring followed by drought did not help.

I thinks the rain system we had is now yours. Going to have more rain this Fri and Sat, but not like last week!

evening all....

Just got your messages Jo, about an hour ago.

The stent came out yesterday and that was painless and fast but about 15 minutes later while on my way back home, horrific pain started, every bit as bad as the pain that first time. I took two pain pills when I got home and it took over an hour for them to start working. It was VERY BAD. Dr said I could come back for an ultrasound but the thought of moving, let alone making the trip back to his office was not in the cards, so I was very glad when the pain meds did start to work. Discomfort lasted all day into the night, and today I spent most of my time sleeping. I don't feel any pain today though so hopefully this is over finally.

JudyEddy said...

LYNNE2 so sorry you were still having pain Maybe Kid Rock had a twin of sorts I hope it is over for you and thanks for checking in with us

Judie said...

Good evening - except for Lynne2.

Lynne2, along with all your blog family, I do so hope the pain will be gone and stay gone but, if not, please go back to the doctor and, if you need to, ask for a second or third opinion. JMHO. So sorry.

Feet going up. Probably watch Worst Cooks - always makes me feel much more competent.

Restful sleep for all.

Mema Jo said...

Lynne2 - So thankful to hear from you. Since the pain has now stopped I just pray it
never comes back! IF it starts again I'm sure you will be back seeing the dr.

I took a personal business day today to attend a 2-hour retirement workshop, but I'm just not motivated to go. The location is a long drive away and I would prefer to just stay in my jammies. I think I can figure out how to retire without someone telling me what to do, don't you?

Praying that Lynne2 is pain free today. ♥

NCTC IT is asking about the buffering on the live feed. I am saying it has improved
since the cams were down last time. If you have any comment, let me know so I can
report back to them. Thx

I have 4 grand-children's b-days this month. I am addressing cards to them. They are 23, 31, 33 and 36. They are adding up their years !

Sandi - I think you can plan your retirement just fine - Those 2 hrs are probably all about finances.

HAPPY NATIONAL CAT DAY to all those with their furbabes!

Good Afternoon, Eagle Buds!!!

Taking a brief break from Penny and Malcolm. We all need a few minutes of rest! It's cool and invigorating outside with bright sunshine and a breeze that is working hard to rid the trees of their beautiful colors.

SANDI, first order of business is to retire happily and I think you've got that one in the bag! There will be many opportunities to attend such workshops if you care to. In my case all it took was a good financial adviser who came highly recommended and an On My Side personal banker. The latter person has left the bank, but helped so much in the first couple of years after I retired and moved back to Columbus. You aren't in this alone as I would and I'm sure Denny will be very helpful with the transition and future plans.

LYNNE1, glad you saw our pair of eagles this morning!

LYNNE2, hope you've seen the last of the pain Kid Rock initiated!

National Cat Day, eh? I'll wave at each of the kitties I see in windows as the dogs and I walk by today!

Enjoy the day everyone!!!

the buffering isn't as bad as it was but yesterday Belle showed up on my tablet and the still cam about almost 2 min before the live feed on my desktop so there still seems to be a issue
but makes it easy to get snips when I miss them on the tablet LOL
Like the other day when I walked in they poofed on the tablet but I got to get pic on the desktop because of the delay with buffering
Also I just refresh at times to bring it up to time

Thanks Suzan and Judy for Cam buffering comments,

NCTC IT is going to tweak things a bit more - hopefully that will even make it better.

Also give us some more information about the Timer which should read 4:10/4:26 and if
it doesn't click on LIVE right in front of it. I hope to find out much more... Some of it is still a mystery to me - especially this delayed reactions between the two cams.

BBL

JudyEddy said...

Thanks for the info on clicking on GO LIVE mine will say 421/426 then it drops back and buffers and it buffers when I click on the go Live and I do notice after a while it will say GO LIVE so that is easier than F5 refreshing and that way you don't have to adjust the cam in the field of frame

Waiting to go to gym last week I played on the computer and forgot to go LOL OLE age HA HA
The service was beautiful Mike told the pastor to only expect 10-12 well I do believe there were more than 125 at the service so many people she worked with came Really showed support for the family ant the table in front they had cards to fill out about a experience with Linda thought that nice also Also the church was providing dinner for the family after the service they announced I have never heard of that either. When I got home I got friend request from her daughters thought that was so sweet of them Linda did not like FB and tried it once and never again She didn't like the way that things pop up on it when you do a search. algorithms she didn't like at all so she never started it back up

JudyEddy said...

I think the buffering is what brings the numbers down I am at 412 now and it will go down to 13 when it buffers if I don't click Go Live again I notice it does change from go live to live

NCSuzan said...

OK, math and I are not the closest of buds but my numbers say .16/4.26 and I have a beautiful non buffering picture. I clicked on it and wow! somebody is in the nest! Very interesting. And like JudyE it now says Live whereas before it said Go Live. But here comes the incessant buffering.

NCSuzan said...

I think it is Belle, just checking out the neighborhood.

NCSuzan said...

Left number is dropping but the Go Live is not an option.

Still just looking around. I love it when the wind ruffles thoses beautiful white head feathers.

I see now that when the bandwith slows to a point it will let you to to click on Go Live. So far it has recovered everytime for me, having to click 6 to maybe 8 times. It's bothersome but way better than watching a still cam!

NCSuzan said...

Exactly Jo. Just by sitting here and paying attention to those numbers and what was going on it became clear. Had not paid any attention to that bar at all. Only noticed the constant buffering!

NCSuzan said...

Poof! That was a nice peaceful visit. Guess I will go make a bologna sandwich for dinner now!

Sandi said...

Hi all. Spent the day outside - it was in the 70s and sunny. I spread 13 huge bags of pine needles in the fenced yard (that we had collected from neighbors), then raked the pine needles and leaves in both of our driveways and hauled them over to the yard and spread them around. The yard is looking good - as good as a wooded yard with no grass can look! Both dogs were outside with me which was nice. Bella loves to push a ball around with her nose and did that until her tongue was dragging on the ground. Jenni just stood there and looked at me like, "Where's the bed? There's no place to lay down out here!"

We got an email from Brian today that Lynnis had to take Freyja to the hospital yesterday because she was throwing up and couldn't hold anything down. She ended up being admitted so they could give her IV fluids - Brian said it was awful holding her down while the nurse got the IV going. What a helpless feeling that is when you have to do what you have to do and there's no way to explain to your child that what you're doing is for his/her own good.

Eventually, tests revealed that she had a gastrointestinal bacterial infection so then the docs knew what antibiotic to put her on. She was allowed to go home today. Brian said the doctors were wonderful and they all spoke English which was important for Lynnis, since she doesn't speak Spanish.

When kids start going to school and being around other kids in a closed-in environment where they all play with the same toys and all stick their fingers in their noses and their mouths, stuff like this is going to happen. Just sayin'.

Dogs have been fed, now to fix something for the people in the house. I should go to the grocery store but I am beat! It can wait til tomorrow after school.

BTW, my sub for today canceled at 3:20 yesterday afternoon and no one else picked up the opening. The special ed. teacher on the team was also out today so there was no one to focus on Sam. I bet he had a field day today!!

I will see everyone in the early AM.

Mema Jo said...

If you move the red bar back it goes to GO LIVE

When it buffers the same thing happens -

by clicking the GO LIVE button you reset it.

That still doesn't give the reason for it Buffering - That is what NCTC is working on

Thanks for the telling of our Belle visit and so happy we now can keep the camera current by the Go Live or pulling up the red bar that will help but I just may keep one at the buffering for the delayed pictures that I could get if I don't get them on the other On my tablet the red bar is not there as well as the words buffering doesn't show Will have to turn it on to see what is there , but I don't recall it

I did catch a view of one of our eagles sitting in the nest looking ever so like making itself to home.

Sandi, seems you had a good day. At the same time, it may be that Sam had a good day also in his special way. Glad you were able to accomplish so much with the expert supervision of Jenni and Bella. Glad the problem with Freyja is not serious and she is already on the way to recovery. Best wishes for her.

Suzan, how 'bout we meet half-way and do our shopping in Virginia Beach? lol

Kay, glad you had nice weather for the M&P play date.

Headed to put my feet up and then my head on the pillows.

Good morning.

Another bright sunshiny blue-sky morning.

Just spent about 15 minutes watching what I think was mom eagle moving a large stick into the crib rail. Absolutely fascinating to watch and so wanted to reach in a help. That nest is looking good.

Our nest MT but looks pretty in the morning sun.

Sandi, do try to stop grinning. A one-day work week is almost as good as actual retirement. I see Freyja is doing better and that is good news.

Hope Lynne2 is pain-free. If she's commented on FB, please let Kay and me know how she is.

Thinking of Glo working on holiday cards with the assistance of her critters, Kay recuperating after doggy play day, and Jo watching squirrels and birds gobble up peanuts and sunflower seeds.

Would pack a bag and head to NCSuzan's to do some errands but having lunch with a gal pal.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

Hoping to hear something soon. Enjoy your lunch with the Gal Pal--always a refreshing activity in my opinion!

SANDI, looking forward to hearing how Sam did without your guidance and candy. So happy to hear Freyja is on the mend. It is a concern when kids are in pre-school where there is the melding of so many germs no matter how much sanitizer is used.

Hope everyone has a good day!!!

Prayers for all in need!!!

FYI my numbers got down to 13/0426 so must have had lots of buffering while I was gone. And I do like the option of clicking now go live instead of f5 This way I don't have to center the cam in the field of frame

Today is trunk or treat at Jordyn school

gotta meet Angie at 1130 there then go back up at 1230 to help with costumes and make up Jordyn is Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony She wanted to the Elisa again this year but Angie talked her out of it.

Angie is leaving her car there decorating as Princess Took all Jordyn Disney stuff out of the house Jordyn doesn't know. So should be a surprise. Angie is dressing up as Snow White
I will be in charge of pictures this year of the entire event Last year we both did pictures and walked around But with Angie doing the trunk of treat I am photographer

Janet - Color Runs are lots of fun - Son Michael and his daughter (The runner) have run them before. Wishing Olivia & Niki a good colorful run.

Judie - glad you were watching when Belle came in this morning with her stick. It is interesting to watch them build those crib rails.

Sandi - very happy that Freyja is on the mend - Scary for young parents of 1st child when things like this happen. I am sure you are getting expert advice on how to domesticate a greyhound.

PRAYER REQUEST

One of our original Momsters needs prayers for healing and recovery.
Anne-Marie Lawson spent 3 days in ICU and another 12 days in a hospital room and has been discharged. She was transferred to Rosewood Acute Rehab for physical therapy and additional medical treatment. Her daughter feels that she will not like it there but it will hopefully motivate her to participate in PT. Mom is still confused at times and becoming upset that she can't go home. She is still being treated for an internal infection, kidney issues, and cardiac issues.
Anne-Marie is from CA - she was always on the blog early morning as she got ready for work - curlers in her hair and eating soft boil egg! We followed her daily on her cruise and the best fun with her Red Dress! I don't have any address but if I get one we could send Get Well Wishes. She really doesn't go on her FB account very often. So PRAYERS for her recovery ♥

Thanks for checking in Lynne2. We've been worried about you. That pain went on too long imho.

My sister in law in Austin Tx said they got about 6 inches in a very short period of time this morning. It came within inches of their house, but all well as of late afternoon. Hope our Lolly and family are ok too.

Happy to watch the eagles for so long this afternoon/evening.

Judie - Hero Dog awards: Hard to explain it all but - On Fb I am a member of a site
where we have daily voting for animal related concerns. For a month or more we had been
voting on the Hero Dogs and then we were able to vote on the Finalist. Tonight each of the dogs were presented along with their owners telling their stories. The Winner was
Harley - he only had one eye - small dog that had been in the Puppy Mills. He lost his eye when they power-washed the kennels with the pups in their cages. He was the winner.

MS Fisher tonight was a repeat for me - So 8-10 I did watch the Hero Dogs on Chn 48 - Hallmark.

Goodorming my eagle friends - Happy Halloween and happy last day of Daylight Savings Time.

Lynne, good news on a good day for you - boy, do you deserve it! I hope today is another good day so you can really start getting your strength back.

Lolly, enjoy your family time today.

Janet, how's the shoulder doing?

Freyja must be feeling fine b/c we got photos of her in her Halloween costume after trick-or-treating.

Today we have our home visit with someone from the greyhound rescue group - our final hurdle before we can be approved to foster. Ron will be bringing his greyhound, Rosie, to meet Bella and Jenni. I think we'll meet outside in the yard which is more neutral territory. I've read Retired Racing Greyhounds for Dummies from cover to cover and will try to absorb all the advice Ron offers as well.

Have agreat day all - I guess I should start spelling "great" as "greyt" since that's what the greyhound owners do! :)

grannyblt said...

Good morning eagle momsters.

Nest MT at the moment with lots of fog in the area--ground not visible.

Sandi, I hope you have a "greyt" interview with the greyhound folks.

And have a happy Halloween to all.

grannyblt said...

Thinking the same thing Sandi. Fog is disapating a bit and sun on remaining eagle.

Lynne1, I enjoyed sharing this morning's visit with you - it was a real treat, wasn't it?

Nest is MT right now, though they could return.

grannyblt said...

Good morning.

Our nest is MT but looks gorgeous. Took a second to realize I couldn't see the ground because of the fog. Duh! Berry College mom and dad very busy this morning mostly working on what will be the egg cup. Panda boy sleeping and Panda mom chomping Bamboo.

Lynne2, hope today is another painless day for you.

Have a fun day Lolly.

Jo, Hero Dog Awards sounds wonderful. I did see a few days ago Harley. Story was on a tv news channel. So sweet. Sure wish the new PBS programs would begin. Tired to repeats.

Sandi, so glad Freyja is feeling better and surely she enjoyed her Halloween experience. Will have my fingers crossed today that the meeting with Ron and Rosie is a success and Bella and Jenni take a greyt liking to tall four-legged critters.

Nothing much today. Beautiful sky and sunshine and fall colors. We have almost no young children in our community these days. Mostly teenagers who are not always polite so we do not do the trick or treat part. Instead, we take care of neighborhood watch patrols (car and walking and biking).

Hope all the furry critters have a safe and unscary night.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

Janet said...

Good morning to all! Happy Halloween!
LYNNE2: good to hear from you.
SANDI: I think the shoulder has improved, thank you for asking. I no longer have the “buzzing” electrical feeling and no daily spasms. SO that’s a big improvement. I think I will have to stick with no deep tissue, although I can do myofascial release and neuromuscular seemingly okay. But those are techniques that do not require me to lean in as hard putting more pressure on the shoulders. I also may stay away from 2 hours…..
JO: the girls enjoyed the color run, although…I don’t think they realized how far a 5K is. We made it there in time to see them take off. There were a LOT of people of all ages. It looked like fun.

We have a busy weekend on tap….some serious issues to deal with this morning. Tom’s uncle has been in the hospital for several days….had had blood in the urine, had some sort of a procedure etc. He is mentally handicapped, but mildly so. His brother has taken care of him all of his life….and he is very eccentric, very conspiracy theory they are all out to get us sort….and by roaming the hospital where he should not have been, not only managed to get himself kicked out of the hospital, but not, 1. Wants us to help him break his brother out of the hospital (conspiracy, they are all out to get us) and 2. The hospital said they will not release Don(hospitalized) to Ralph…..
Ralph showed up here last night trying to convince Tom to help him break Don out.
We said no, we aren’t doing that.

So shortly Tom and I are going to the hospital to find out what the heck is going on….as much as we can. Find out if we or someone needs to obtain legal “custody” /control over Don so he gets the care that he needs. Both brothers are in their 80’s….
Sigh. Tough decisions. Please hold us in your heart and thoughts that we may be able to arrange the care that they both need…..

Sending light, love, healing and smiles to one and all.
Have a great day.

Lolly said...

Good morning!

Oh, my Janet, you have your hands full with the uncles!

Over 4 inches of rain, that on top of 11 inches last week, and more to come late next week! Wow! Well, there has been some loss of of lives in the flooding in central Texas. So sad!

Gotta run! Need to dry my hair and get ready to head to Dallas!

Hi, Everyone!

Happy Halloween!

So glad to hear that Lynne2 is pain-free! Certainly do hope that is a continuing trend!

Happy that little Freyja recovered and got to Trick-or-Treat! Kids do seem to bounce back quickly.

Saying healing prayers for Anne-Marie Lawson. Hope she improves quickly with some intensive rehab.

Have an update on Ken's hand. There are 2 more black stitches working their way to the surface! They will probably be breaking the surface in a day or two. Ken was able to get the last one out by carefully rubbing it with a clean wash cloth in the shower. I'm wondering why the doctor doesn't note exactly how many stitches were used to close the skin, and share the info with the nurse removing stitches, so they get them all the first time! Do have to say that we are amazed at the way the human body can manage to "reject" something foreign like a piece of suture. Fascinating! Hopefully, that will finally be the end of that story!

Well, need to get busy and do some vacuuming and dusting. We've had a day of Santa Ana Winds. They seem to be gone this morning, so it's either plant potatoes in the dust on the furniture, or clean it up! Hope everyone has a good day, and enjoys Trick-or-Treat tonight. Oh--don't forget to turn clocks back tonight! Daylight Savings Time ends! Will try to return later tonight. I ♥ us!

Mema Jo said...

Good afternoon on this eve of Halloween ! Hoping that all trick/treaters stay safe.

I have a 50th b-day dinner to attend this evening for one of my cousins (due to age difference I am called Aunt Jo) There aren't any youngsters in the neighborhood that come up to our cul-de-sac - not with townhouses down on the main lane. I miss that - thankfully there is a new family across the street with 3 small delightful little ones - they came over Friday in costume and got candy treats from us - I thought the Skeleton was going to empty the bowl.

Sandi I can feel your grat excitement for your visitors today. Hope all goes well - I have a feeling the big guy may be shy of the other 2 already living in the house. I'm sure you will have interesting stories to tell.

Janet - Hoping you can get information from the hospital today concerning the uncles. Could be that Ralph needs Don home due to his own loneliness. Perhaps they should both go to an assisted living home. Good Luck and sorry you had to be pulled into all of this.

Mema Jo said...

Andy - I would have hoped that all those left-over stitches would have been the kind that dissolved with the healing!

Lynne2 I sure hope you are having a painless relaxing day!

Lolly your day is filled - enjoy it all! I have friends scheduled to go tour San Antonio the 1st thru 5th. I am thinking that it could be rescheduled if the flooding is the area to where they are going.

Temps are going to rise as the week goes on - I did wear jacket yesterday when we went out. Felt very good!

Everyone enjoy your day - watch out for the goblins, ghosts, ghouls and witches !
KEEP YOUR CATS INSIDE - Dogs also ♥

Jo, have a wonderful time at the birthday dinner tonight. Don'd know where you're going but wishing you a dinner of crab cakes and peanut butter pie.

Janet, wishing you luck in sorting out the decisions regarding the uncles.

Andy, I also would think the number of stitches would have been noted in the doctor's report and that dissolving sutures would have been used. So worrisome for you two. Hi to Emma.

Happy Halloween. So glad to read up and see Lynne is feeling better. Big day for Sandi. Read back as far as MeMa Jo talking about them power washing the puppy mills and this sweet little dog who lies here beside me immediately came to mind. She is doing better and better each time with baths. I do wonder about the power wash. She surely doesn't like certain noises. Velcro tearing is one of them She also hates a broom. I had connected that with maybe pushing her aside by broom etc to sweep out a kennel/run area. Never thought about the power wash though.

Puppy Mills what a terribly sad sad pace for one of God's most precious creatures. On a lighter note my little gal is a Butterfly for Halloween. I see her as having come out of her coccoon and spreading her wings more and more beautifully each day.

Have a safe wonderful Halloween. Mine will be pretty quiet cold and rainy.

Good evening. Quick update before tom and I head out for the night:
John, tom and I were able to talk with consulting doctor. The decision was made for tom & john to check don out and take him back down to waverly where he and ralph. Physically he is fit as a fiddle. Mentally….he and ralph both have issues, but have managed thus far. It has been determined they will have to be checked on more often and we will be researching assisted living places for if/when it becomes necessary. Waiting on actual doctor to sign the release form, which I would suspect maybe as late as Monday morning….depends on when he returns to the hospital next.

School : livvy’s been on fall break. Resuming Monday.

Okay. Heading out for the night. Will be safe and careful. Night all

Hi all! We have 2 eagles in the nest.

Glo, Bandit our Jack Russell was also terrified of the sound of Velcro opening and brooms - what a coincidence! Saw Patches' butterfly costume on FB - very cute!

Lynne, I sure hope you're having a good day!

Well, our home visit was a success and we are cleared to be foster parents!! Ron brought his greyhound Rosie when he came. Bella was fine and Jenni was afraid but they behaved well. Neither dog snapped or growled at Rosie and Rosie just ignored them.

So now we just have to wait until Friday to get Gloria or Janie. Ron said the rescue group has never gotten dogs from this particular track in Charleston, WV before, so he hopes they are in good condition when they arrive.

Worked outside today before and after Ron and Rosie came - I picked up 2 trash cans and 2 huge yard waste bags full of pine cones that were laying all over the fenced area.

It's 6:15pm and almost dark outside. Tomorrow it will look like this at 5:15pm. Goodnight - I will see everyone in the early AM.

Congratulations Sandi I too am so excited. You will have stories and one greyhound is heading for a great place to learn about home life. ty for helping whichever dog it is.

I am thinking velcro opening might sound similar to a power wash or maybe velcro restraints is used for something in the puppy mill world. No clue. Brooms I kind of figured out I don't think she was ever hit with it just shewed away with it. I hope that's right. Yes my blossoming out of her cocoon little butterfly.
