Janet, sounds like a lovely way for Chelsea and Chris to renew their vows. Glad you have Olivia doing something in math !

Sandi, Maybe Lynnis will set some limits later? Maybe not! Glad Freyja is happy and healthy.

Lynne, glad the kennel is secure for now. Sorry to hear about the in-laws issues...but what can you do? sometimes it is nothing.

Getting ready for company over the 4th...Michael, Laura and my brother Steve and his 2 dogs. small crowd, but that's OK.

paula eagleholic said...

Shirley, so sorry about Lucky. Guess it will be time to kitten proof with 2 new kitties in the house.

Congrats on the new kittens Shirley! Kittens a WILD...you forget that!! With 2 however, they will keep each other entertained and hopefully will not do the Kitty 500 across your heads in the middle of the night!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY CAROLANNE!!

Shadow our hospital kitty is just fine! Who knows what happened....really weird. I was off today so I have no idea what the Dr thinks happened but will find out tomorrow.

WELL.....Seems that the closing on the kennel that was supposed to take place tomorrow has been bumped til next Monday. Hmmmmmmmm. First the boss said that it was the Dr's fault because he wasn't organized but then later she said to the farrier that the Dr thinks SHE is the problem because she wants the 4th of July weekend/week income. OMG....

Just got a bunch of stuff out of Jordyn playroom to give to a gal at work Her GD is 5 giving small doll house and a play kitchen dishes and all and some small princess dolls with the plastic cloth that you pinch on

Jordyn asked Angie the other day if she could bring over some Barbies to her house Angie said no OMA has toys at her house Jordyn quietly said but they are baby toys so getting rid of them all to her at work

I asked her do you want me to get rid of the washer dryer She said no she could was her barbie cloths in it LOL it has a iron board also attached and she said to keep the vanity that she has with stool They are all the lil tikes brand hard plastic

I got her a new house at work need to go put it together also furniture odd sold separately not with house I am only missing the bath/laundyroom set will have to check at work in a day or so 6 were on order Funny I bet when I get it she will be willing to get rid of the big lil tikes laundry set Since Barbie will have her own LOL

What a perfect beach day! Need to hop in the shower and think about dinner.

Judie said...

Good late afternoon or early evening if you prefer.

Had a lovely day. Friend visited for lunch and then delivered her to a conference center in MD.

Now I return to thank Steve for a fresh thread and to congratulate Paula on her new feather.

So much going on.

JudyE, happy Jordyn liked her dolls. Hope the dental appointment works out for you.

Shirley, I think kittens are fabulous fun but, as Jo cautioned, watch where you step and watch when you are on steps. Kitten adventure stories will be fun. Still would enjoy some Hunter stories, also.

Lynne2, do hope the sale is settled and maybe, just maybe, some work can be done on the barn and the donkeys cared for properly.

Kay, Malcolm is one loved doggie to have so many caregivers. Happy birthday to Seth and wishing him a wonderful time in MI.

Headed to put my feet up for a while.

good Monday evening to all.

livvy didn't get home til about midnight last night. she went to a movie with her brother. I had to fight the sandman off with a wiffle ball bat. lol.

had to be up early today, livvy had an 8 a.m. orthodontist apt and then allergy shots. we picked up a friend to come over today. they hung out today.

me> I scrubbed my kitchen. you know, the- get- on- your- knees- and- scrub- the- corners,- clean- the- fridge- and- wipe- down- all- the- cabinets- clean. and laundry.

I also grabbed a nap.

made a new recipe....the caramelized chicken on face book. for those not on facebook, here it is.

Ingredients Nutrition

Servings 6-8 Units US
2 1⁄2 lbs chicken legs
1 2⁄3 tablespoons olive oil (to help it stop sticking to the pan)
1⁄2 cup soy sauce
1 2⁄3 tablespoons ketchup
3⁄4 cup honey
2 -3 garlic cloves, minced
salt and pepper

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 180 degrees Celsius.
Place chicken in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Mix together the oil, soy sauce, ketchup, honey, garlic, salt and pepper.
Pour over the chicken.
Bake in preheated oven for one hour, or until sauce is caramelized.
Could also use wings or pork ribs.

it was very easy and yummy. I took some of the sauce and thickened it with cornstarch and poured a little extra over the chicken.

family liked it as well.

need to go out and water and get ready for work tomorrow.

Hugs, love, and SED to all

Had to search back for info on the two kitties. Yea! NOTHING helps a broken heart better than kitties. Watching them will bring much laughter!

Today we had some good friends stop by. Had 4 children here 4 and under and Skippi did great. She did not run and hide. She wanted to play! Rhyan the 4 year old, and Rhett, the 2 year old were running and dragging cat toys and Skippi was chasing. Auden, the 15 mo old was chasing, too and Beckett the baby was crawling fast, chasing. It was funny! So happy Skippi is gentle! These are the grandchildren of good friends. They were in town for the weekend. We were at the hospital when the parents of these babies were born. Michael, the daddy, is an Austin policeman. I always think of him whe. We hear stories of police.

Did not do too much today. I think yesterday left me drained. Will get busy tomorrow and get things done.

Night all! SED

Goodorming my eagle friends on this last day of June. It's hard to believe that 2015 is already half over! Lynne2, how many days til Christmas??

Shirley, when will Kathryn get the kittens?

Kay, I think you were the person who asked about my sister's dog. Daisy is a lab mix, very sweet and gentle. Still, Jenni is afraid of her, having been an only dog for her entire life. But they all co-exist nicely.

No tennis this morning, not sure what will be on the Buchman agenda for today. My mother's federal tax refund FINALLY arrived yesterday so that needs to go into the bank. The state of MD is still saying there is a problem with her refund. I think battling to get this last refund will be my final responsibility in settling Mom's estate and I am sooo ready to be finished. It has been quite a learning experience.

Have agreat day all - stay cool!

AC is back on as the humidity is returning.

Prayers needed for Glo's kitty Zoey. She is at the vets and very sick. It could be
her liver - blood work is being done.

Jordyn is one lucky little gal to have Oma!

The Hedgesville family has lots and lots of blueberries. My oldest ggs and his dad made
a fruit stand and Joseph sold $50 worth of the berries. He was so proud of himself!

Our juvies have been heard today but not seen ------- Keep checking out our nest

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,

Dropping in to say a quick Howdy, so you don't think I've fallen off the edge of the earth! Sorry I've been gone so long! It's been SOO hot and humid here!!!
No relief in sight yet, either. Supposed to be 90 again today, with high humidity and somewhat unhealthful air. YUCK!

Miss Emma had to go to the vet's for a urinary tract infection last week. She is on antibiotics, and feeling much better now, thank you. We're making a conscious effort to get her to drink more water.

Shirley, so sorry to hear that you had to say goodbye to Lucky! He was certainly a blessed kitty to have your family as his guardians, though. Glad you will soon have 2 little kitties running around the house.

Lolly, sorry to hear that Flo passed away. Prayers for you and the rest of her family.

CarolAnne, belated Happy Birthday! Hope your day was really special.

We had to have some repairs on our Honda Accord last week--the engine light went on, and it turned out to be the catalytic converter. Also needed new rear struts. Thankful that we got a senior discount, but it still came to over
$1,200. Well, the car's 13 years old, so guess stuff will start having to be replaced.

We've been house cleaning. The kids are driving out to visit, and should arrive Thursday evening! Just hope the weather is a little cooler by then. Really excited about seeing them again!

Well, better go get busy again. So much to do, so little time!

Have a super day, everyone. Prayers for all those in need. I ♥ us!!!

Judie said...

Good afternoon.

Andy, very sorry about the car issues. Repairs these days are almost as costly as a new car. Enjoy the family visit. Have fun. Sorry Emma was not well and her recovery will be quick.

Kitty prayers for Zoey. Truly hope Zoey improves and feel sad for Glo.

Obviously, I was in the wrong business. Maybe should plan on a retirement career selling blueberries. Farmer's Market favorite vendor - farm in Hedgesville. Must be good farming land.

this was on FB results of death of eaglet while banding

Necropsy results on what happened to the Catalina West End eaglet
June 30, 2015 — bald eagle, banding, birds, Catalina West End, Eagle, IWS, nature

The Institute of Wildlife Studies (IWS) today posted the information they received on the apparent cause of death for the eaglet at the Catalina West End nest that died as they started the banding process about a month ago. Here is their info:

“We have received the necropsy report from the the Wildlife Investigations Laboratory of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife on the West End chick that died on May 28. The nestling had symptoms of acute septicemia (bacterial infection in the blood), and this was the apparent cause of death.”

They also said that it was a girl, and many watchers have unofficially named her Angel.

YES JUDIE I slept well last night. thank you!
MS. BOOKWORM: so sorry about the car repairs. mine is 10 years old this year and I noticed the last couple of days that the leather on the driver side seat is split/torn...its from the way I sit....the cushions are all squished and such....but repairs are expensive none the less. I am lucky, tom can do a lot of stuff to cars...not sure how I will handle this one.. I do know someone who does upholstery work....may have to inquire...
JUDYE: thanks for the report. sad though.

Getting hot and sticky here again. We had lovely rains last night and think we are anticipating more later tonight.

Tom got himself a part time job...something to do more than anything. Its at car parts store that was recently purchased by Advance Auto. They are downtown so they don't cater so much to the typical customer but more to auto repair stores and such. They know his bus job is his primary.....this is for pocket change and again, something to do.

Well not a lot else going on. Check in later! :) smiles for all

Gloria Vincent Keeslar (she) The Vet gave me a diagnosis. 2 very long words. and said "She is very ill". Showed me the yellow in her eyes and her gums. Yes I am very worried and have no idea what has even caused this which is the Vet's dilemna too.

Prayers for Zoey

ANOTHER saddness for GLO and please pray for her :
(SHE refers to MOM - I think it is Glo's late husband's Mom -I'll try to verify that)

She was admitted to the hospital last night and is in ICU. She is unresponsive and on a ventilator. I do ask your prayers for her. We need her kidneys to kick in and vitals to stabilize. She is now 95. The above photo (FB) was from her 93 yr family celebration. "WE ALL CHERISH THIS WOMAN" She has added so much love and joy to so very many people. I am sure I must time a trip to Springfield sometime in the next week or so also. I will need to work out things here at home, and choose the best time to also be with and support and receive the support of my family in the Springfield area.

Hopefully it fills up a bit with the rain anticipated today and for the next few days. Noone on my table, no $$$. When I got there yesterday I had NOTHING. Oh, dear! Almost missed our Margy's birthday! 🎈🎉Happy Birthday, Margy!🎉🎈 love you and miss you! You are at the top of my Favorites List!!!

Have spent two hard days working in the yard. Tomorrow I am the designated driver and taking Jack to the oral surgeon to have a tooth pulled and an implant. Not fun!

Friday Laurel and the boys will be here for dinner. Jacob is staying for the week as Laurel goes to Colorado for a women's retreat and Joseph leaves for church camp. We will go to the movies, go to Omni and just do cool activities. I am thinking crafts. Joey will be home but busy with course she is taking on line.

Night all, SED!

Goodorming my eagle friends. Nest looks and sounds MT.

Margy, great to see you yesterday!

Lolly, good luck to Jack today - does not sound fun.

Prayers for Glo, her "Mom," and Zoey.

Jo, prayers continue for you.

Old stitches out, new stitches in - all good.

Brian, Lynnis & Freyja arrive this afternoon/evening. We will have a full house tonight - all beds (plus a crib) occupied. 7 adults, 2 children, 1 toddler.

Tennis for me at 8am - looking pretty gray outside so that's assuming the rain holds off, then a nail appointment, then maybe blueberry picking if it stays cloudy but dry.

Have agreat day all.

Judie said...

Good early morning.

Rain here - again.

Nest is MT.

Headed to the scullery for coffee to sip while perusing the newspaper. Then, maybe, off to forage for sustenance over the weekend. This area gets crazy with traffic and tourists and locals that only come out once a year for the celebrations.

Wishing everyone a terrific day.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,

Wow, SOOO habby that Margy dropped in with a report of a wonderful day spent with grandson James! Glad your day was one of special memories created. Know that you are missed, and thought of very often!

Love the encouraging news from Glo about both Zoey kitty, and her 'Mom'! Prayers continue for both of them, and for Glo! Hang in there!

Lolly, prayers for Jack today, for his oral surgery. Not a fun thing! Will be thinking of both of you.

JudyE, hope Angie is feeling better today! That vertigo thing is miserable! My Ken has had issues with it in the past, and he was a train wreck!

The kids are on their way out here; they arrived in New Mexico at 11 pm last night. Stayed at a hotel so they could get some sleep before continuing their drive.

Need to vacuum the house again today. This heat has Emma shedding like CRAZY! Have enough dog hair to make a couple more Emma clones.

Better get busy--before it's too hot.

Oh--got a notice from the City yesterday that we can only water our yard on Sunday and Thursday (even address number), and only 8 minutes per day, per sprinkler zone. Aargh! We were watering 4 days/week, for 2 to 4 minutes per zone. Grass is a bit brown now. May have to paint it green before this is over!
We have a "smart" water meter now, so they can tell every time you turn on a faucet. Suspect 5-minute showers are next. Pray for rain! I do NOT want a desert landscape for our home!

Well, better get going. Will try to check in later today. Have a super day, everyone! I ♥ us!

Mema Jo said...

Good morning to all ♥ A little bit gray outside and we may get a shower soon.

This is Glo's update on Mom -

during the night "Mom" had a massive stroke which has affective both sides of her brain. She will be placed on comfort care only. I ask your prayers now for my niece Karen who has been her primary caretaker for 10 years. This is a very hard time and decision for her to make. We all cherish this woman but Karen is the one who has cared for her around the clock with love and compassion beyond human understanding. Thank you all.

Judie said...

Thank you Jo for giving us the update from Glo.

Prayers of comfort for Karen and prayers of peace for MOM.

stronghunter said...

Good morning,

Prayers and good wishes for Glo and her whole family.

Watching the news from DC this morning. Glad to learn that everything is okay at the Navy Yard. Susan's boyfriend works at that location, but she reports that he is at home today. Guess he missed all of the excitement and activity. Rus works near there as well.

Went with Virginia to her book presentation last night. Unfortunately, the library person in charge of presentations dropped the ball and did not get the publicity out, so there was not a good audience. Frustrating. Someone brought Virginia a stack of brochures that were printed and never distributed. That is not the only failure. Geesh. Virginia is planning to come back in August to present another book. I will make it a point to see that the publicity gets taken care of.

stronghunter said...

I think Virginia has worn herself out. She has fallen asleep on the sofa. I would be sleeping, too, if I had finished off the writing of two books this spring.

Kathryn took Hunter to her work this morning. They're planning to attend a Def Leppard concert tonight.

Judie said...

Good afternoon.

Shirley, so very sorry about the problems with Virginia's visit to the library. She surely is a gracious person to agree to return in August. Also very relieved that the Navy Yard incident was not serious. Two good things though. At least someone paid attention and reported a "possible" problem and the police agencies are much better prepared in the event of a real problem. Glad that Susan's boyfriend and Rus were not affected.

Did go to the Army base to forage and had no problem getting on base. So, foraging has been accomplished and should not need to venture out into the holiday crowds.

Headed across the hall to point my toes toward the ceiling.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Parent landed with fish, immediately 1 juvie in and saw the other kind of crash just below the nest. Came back around and made it in this time. So one juvie is mantling and the other is probably trying to figure out what just happened.

Mema Jo said...

UPDATE ON ZOEY:

I just came back from visiting Zoey. She did relax and purr inmy arms some after a while. There were dogs on the other side of the door though in the waiting room. She was stressed by a growl and occasional bark out there. I do think it helped her for a little while to be held by her MaMa even if it was there at the hospital. They don't have staff there much over the weekend except to visit and check on any animals in house. I tried to stress that I want to bring her home and if I need to I will take her back on Monday. WHAT A WEEK this has been. "sigh"

Mema Jo said...

Both are in the nest now
I just turned it on but looks as though one has food to mantle ............

We are having a shower - very small one - but the sky is still gray.......

No Sun at all

stronghunter said...

Hi again,

Virginia has now left and has headed out on yet another adventure. She's trying to find a grave in a cemetery in Richmond--the grave of one of the brothers of the man who is the focus of her book about the Civil War. She hopped into her station wagon and headed south. She'll be coming back this way in August.

She mentioned that she wants to write about Interpol in her next book. She is one of those people who likes to go off on adventures and learn all about a topic and then write about it. She is truly her mother's daughter.

stronghunter said...

Nice to know that Glo got to visit with Zoey.

stronghunter said...

Nest is empty now. A crazy mess of stuff there, but no eagles. I do not think I have ever seen so many green leaves around the nest. I do hope it is a sign that the tree is doing well.

stronghunter said...

Virginia and I had a very relaxed lunch before she left. Went foraging in the kitchen and found lettuce, shredded cheese, onion, almonds, barbequed chicken wings, some shrimp-noodle thing Kathryn had made, strawberries, 1/2 a banana, and whipped cream. We had quite a feast. Did not have to go to the grocery store.

stronghunter said...

Oh my gosh, lots of hollering and a big shake at the eagle nest.

stronghunter said...

I think both eagle children are on the cam having a fight.

stronghunter said...

Watching for something or someone to drop into the nest.

stronghunter said...

Lots of hollering and squealing.

stronghunter said...

Still hearing eagle chirps, but the nest is empty.

Mema Jo said...

I just wonder what is going on up in the attic............ and which one is doing all
that squealing! Sure is vocal!

Lolly said...

Howdeeeee! Jack seems to be doing great. As soon as we got home he ate some scrambled eggs. Just now made him a chocolate shake. I got two prescriptions filled for him but I am thinking he won't need any pain meds. Amazing! He goes back next week. Just had a really pretty arrangement of flowers delivered to him from the doctor!

Need to do a pick up around the house!

Oh, and today is Miss Skippitas "gotcha". Day! Time has flown by!

Lolly said...

Oh, my! Have not personally seen the Eagles in a long time. Just now left open the cam while doing other things. Was quite startled, as well as Skippi, when an eaglet in the attic was squealing right into the mike!!!

Hi all!

Wonderful news about Shepherdstown supporting the NCTC eagle cam with a whopping donation! WOW!

Very sad new about Glo's "Mom." Praying for the whole family for strength at this very difficult time.

The gang's all here - Lynnis, Brian, Freyja and the dogs arrived around 6pm. We are now at 7 adults, 2 children, 1 toddler, and 5 dogs!! Brian said the traffic to the beach was horrible - it took them 6 hours to get here. With lots of folks having off from work tomorrow, people decided to head to the beach this evening after work. The 4th falling on a weekend will make the crowds and the traffic horrendous in these parts!

We got torrential rain here from about 10am til about 1pm - blueberry picking did NOT happen. Rt. 1 in Ocean City was completely flooded so I was temporarily stuck at the nail salon while the water receded. I now have 8 bright red nails and 2 navy blue ones with white, silver, and red fireworks painted on them.

I will see everyone in the AM.

Janet said...

good evening all. busy day at work. it was a rainy day; everyone was booked. :)

after work I went to the chiropractor. shoulder being a grump again. dr. fowler is wonderful. the best part (besides feeling better) is that it is a franchise like massage envy so I pay one fee a month ($49) and get up to four adjustments per month!

SANDI: your nails sound beautiful. enjoy your company!

yeah for the donation! great community spirit.

work tomorrow, then off til next Friday. grandkids will arrive later Saturday....Chelsea and chris fly out early sunday morning, like 5 a.m. or something ridiculous like that. I know they have to be up at 3 on sunday morning to get to the airport on time.

feeling happy and sad at the same time... sad for me and happy for my gal pals...the ones who visit from va beach and we visit them. they are getting married Saturday morning @ 7 a.m. on the beach. if I didn't have the grands i'd have flown up there for that! but as it is....I mailed them a card today. I am so happy for them. they've been together 13 years now.....

not a lot else. hitting the pillows soon. good night to all!

glo said...

Stopping by to thank you all for all of your prayers and concern for both "Mom" and Zoey. I am going to do my best to take Zoey home for the weekend even if i have to take her back on Monday. I did visit her today. She is eating some and i got a purr out of her. The biggest issue is trying to get her BUN to come down. and I still believe my vet does not know why she got so very sick so fast.

"Mom" was taken off of life support today around 2pm. This is a sad and difficult time for us of course. I am especially worried about my niece. I am sure she is physically and emotionally exhausted. She says she is at peace and ready to let go but then qualifies it with 'What If and maybe we could or should. Once again I am sincerely grateful for you prayers and for MeMa Jo keeping you informed. Just such a special group of folks here. There is none other like all of you. That indeed is very good for all of us. AOYP one and all.

Goodorming my eagle friends.

Glo, thanks for popping onto the blog to say goodnight - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Jo, prayers for you today and every day.

Lolly, I'm glad to hear that Jack did so well! Enjoy your day with the family and the start of your week with Jacob.

Today, after tennis, I will be mailing the check to pay off the mortgage. Should see a $00.00 balance online by next Tuesday or Wednesday!

Michael (my nephew) is an indentured servant to his parents until he pays off the money he owes for his new ipad mini. I have been helping him with his debt by giving him chores - taking out the recycling, folding towels, fertilizing my annuals, sweeping the deck. Now that Freyja is here and crawling around, he can vacuum dog hair in the living room and dining room every day.

Speaking of Freyja, it's my time with her - bye!!

SANDI, as I recall you're not only Michael's dear aunt, but his designated surrogate grandmother as well. You are doing a great job---your Mom would be proud! Congrats on the mortgage pay off! That's always a happy occasion!

Good Morning all. "Mom" is still with us. She is resting peacefully. Blood pressure is pretty low. As far as Zoey is concerned, here is update I just posted to facebook a short while ago.

I LOVE MY VET!!!! Zoey UPDATE She is coming home later today atleast for the weekend. Lots of meds. she does have pancreatitis. This woman Dr Narske is going to meet me at the hospital on both Sat and Sunday to examine and treat her and then we will do blood recheck on Monday and go from there. So between 4 and 5 tonight I can go get Zoey . Heparin lock needs changed so she is going to go ahead and remove it for the weekend after she gives fluids this afternoon.

Glo, sympathy for the decisions being made for MOM and all the family. Hoping that Zoey can come home with you for the weekend so you both can rest quietly together. Prayers continue.

Sincere appreciation to the people of Shepherdstown for their donation to NCTC to help with the camera. My next visit, I'll be sure to patronize Sheetz and not exceed the posted speed limit.

Lolly, hope that Jack is feeling tip-top today.

Congrats Sandi on the mortgage payoff. Great plan for Michael.

Janet, enjoy the week off. Congratulations to your friends. Safe travels for Chris and Chelsea.

Kay, have a fun weekend with the Doggy Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

Wonder what's happening with Lynne2 and the vet/farm situation?

Okay, off to spend the day in the scullery. Hope to get food prepped for the weekend and beyond. Do ahead = more time to read.

Going to a pizza restaurant tonight for a reunion of sorts with the kids' CA friends. Should be fun, and will be good to see everyone again.

Glo, so sorry about your "Mom". Glad her transition was peaceful. Prayers for comfort and peace for you, Karen, and the whole family.... I think I love your vet too! So glad Zoey can be home for the weekend.

Shirley, sorry the library messed up and there was not a good audience for your friend's presentation. Hope things are much better in August! Glad that all's OK at the Navy Yard.

Fantastic news about the eagle cam donation from Shepherdstown!

Sandi, glad your gang made it there safely in spite of horrible traffic. Your manicure sounds awesome--and congrats on your mortgage payoff!

Keeping close tabs on Zoey and trying to spread the love for the other 2 also. It's going to be a busy weekend but I am going to enjoy every minute I spend caring for them and especially Zoey. I can surely tell she is not at all well BUT then she is surely better than she was on Tues. I think we have a ways to go. One day at a time. I do have an awesome vet. I will meet her with Zoey at 9 am tomorrow morning. There is some relief knowing that if I can't get those pills into Zoey without too much stress on both of us I do have someone to see early in the day who will get it done. I might need to watch her technique. Time will tell. I am going to give Karen a call and then sort of settle things down here and just enjoy all of my fur family here with me. ALL HAVE A SAFE 4th

NatureNut said...

Hello, Hello! Hope everyone has a safe and joyful 4TH!

Dear Glo, pray for strength to help you with feelings for Mom and nursing chores w/Zoey.
Sounds like you do have a wonderful vet.
Haven't been on for awhile due to dentist wrangling the last two weeks. I survived, but why do we have to pay for torture???? Got stitches out yesterday, but still not able to chew what I want. Living on soup, mashed potatoes, ice cream YUM, & Ensure.
We have a funky 'puter, too. IE has pretty much quit, but it might be AOL. Am using Google Chrome, but for some reason their fonts are lots smaller. Oh well, have to get on phone w/techies some day.
Since home some, was outside doing battle with White Cushiony Scale insects. How dare they get near some of our flowers!!!! Also enjoying the outside kitties and their raccoon and possum friends that come by most evenings. Last night, Punkin, our IN/OUT kitty had a face off with the raccoon. I stomped my foot and that broke the staring contest!
Prayers for Good Health for ALL and have a wonderful holiday! ;>)

Good evening,

Luna is here with me tonight. Some early fireworks have made her a little uneasy.

My condolences, Glo. So sorry for your loss. I know you are comforted by having Zoey at home with you.

Thank you for the lovely card, Margy. We all appreciate your kind words.

Thanks to the citizens of Shepherdstown for the donation to the cam fund. We will all enjoy the eagles together.

Funny story, CarolAnne. I have always found that pets think they have to walk across a newly mopped, painted, or stained surface.

I think we have a new group of baby robins in the same tree that sheltered a group earlier in the summer. Spotted an adult with a still wiggling worm sitting on the porch roof. It then hopped into the tree and disappeared. That tree hides nests beautifully. You know the nest is there, but the branches are so thick you cannot see it. I have tried to look from several angles, but all I get is a fussy adult scolding me.

Spent a little time getting my eye checked out. Went to an emergency clinic yesterday evening, and to the eye doctor today. They have assured me that my eye is okay, just bruised. It's a broken vein in the white of the eye and just needs to heal. I look pretty scary.

🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💥Happy 4th of July!💥🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Jack continues to do great! Never once took a pain pill. Did take prescription Advil, but that was just precaution. He is eating quite well, too. But, we have not had anything he really needs to chew.

Had fun last night while Laurel and Joseph were still here. Joseph is such a crazy fun kid! Also, he baked cookies yesterday afternoon and he made garlic/cheese biscuits to go with dinner. He has his recipes in a spiral note book. I think we might have a chef on our hands.

Just made ice cream! Yummy, homemade ice cream!

So hoping everyone had a wonderful day of celebrating and giving thanks to our nation and all who sacrificed to make our freedoms possible.

Especially hoping that Zoey is improving being home with Glo.

Sandperson is packing. Chariot has been cleared to fly the sky. Will need to dodge fireworks.

Headed to put my feet up.

Restful sleep for all.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY TO ONE AND TO ALL!
Nancy and Chris' wedding went off perfectly I was told. They sounded so happy!!!! Squealing: we are MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thrilled beyond words for my sweet gal pals!

Busy day. Ran a few errands, got the last min things ready in the house gkids and gdogs arrived about 4:30. It was a bit of a whirlwind, but all went well. Chelsea and Chris decided that going to the downtown fireworks was not a great idea this year; and given that they have a very early flight, I concur

Burgers and hot dogs on the grill. Everyone was happy and ate.

I put the new ladder ball game together...I stink at those sort of things. I had part of it backwards. Tom fixed it. :)

But then it was dark and the rain started and so we played some battle ship, mancala, had baths, snacks, etc and now everyone is lying down. I think the dogs are more upset than the kiddos.

GLO: glad Zoey is doing okay. You certainly have your hands full!
LOLLY: Glad Jack is doing so well!

JUDIE: send on the sandperson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NATURENUT: hope you get to feeling better

Went to the goodwill today and found some lovely "new" wine glasses for the house and some (plastic) ones for the RV. :) some other odds and ends.....

okay, planning on several early days ahead. hope the weather straightens out some!

good night to all. SED for all!

Well, it really has been a very quiet day. We grilled hamburgers and made ice cream. We got in Jack's pickup to go to the fireworks. Found a great place to see the fireworks, set chairs up in the back of the truck. Fireworks were right over head! It was a great show. Also the weather was so pleasant. Humidity is down and there was a breeze. A great night! Came home and sat in the front yard. Ate ice cream and watched fireworks. Amazes me what people spend on fireworks! Still sounds like a war zone!

Heading to bed shortly! Night all! SED!

Goodorming my eagle friends.

My 4th of July was filled with all things Freyja. It is literally so crowded in Bethany that the only way to get around is on foot. By 8:30 when Lisa and Mitch and the kids walked up to the beach to spread a blanket and watch fireworks, I was too tired to go. I watched some on TV and by 9:30, I was in bed!

This afternoon is the boat parade, today will be spent decorating the boat. The rainbow (our biggest prop) is about 75% finished but we have lots of balloons to blow up and tie on and lots of shamrocks to hang.

Nest looks MT but I can hear one of the juvies calling out nearby.

Have agreat day all.

Good Morning Eagle Buds

nest is MT but I did hear eaglets

Judie said...

Good morning.

Plaintive calls that surely indicate a very hungry eaglet.

Hope everyone enjoyed the 4th, good food, great company, and amazing fireworks.

Another quiet day for me. Cooking will be exhausting -- leftovers. lol

Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

Good Morning, Eagle Buds!!!

JUDIE, good food=chicken/watermelon as main entrees....great company=Penny and Malcolm...amazing fireworks=Malcolm in Thundershirt, Penny wrapped in blanket, both huddled up against me from about 8 to 10:30. Started with poppers that sounded as if they were at my back door and ending with the grand finale boomers from 3 different suburb shows. Pen went back to her crate at 11 and I to my bed about the same time. Malcolm zonked out on the day bed in Seth's room. Hours later he emerged when I got up for a few minutes. I removed his TS and none of us emerged til' 8 this a.m..

Eileen, Julie et al called between their parade and the water show on the lake which is about 3 blocks from Eileen's house. Everyone having a grand time and looking forward to fireworks at the lake later.

I hope our eaglets soon learn to forage for themselves! I read that many each year fail to make it due to poor fishing/hunting skills. The parents do not teach that and I imagine Belle and Shep will soon stop responding to those plaintive calls.

SANDI, wish we could all see your entry in the boat parade--sounds like everyone in your household is having a grand time. I'd opt to spend most of my time with that little doll, Freyja, too!

JO, prayers as always and prayers for any in need, be they bipeds or four legged family members!

Good afternoon. Haven't seen our juries today.

Macaroni salad that was missing something put me off to grilling outside yesterday. Grilling for one is sometimes more trouble than it is worth. The chicken did very well in the oven. The local fireworks were displayed just a couple of blocks from the house. They were so very loud I couldn't imagine there was a living creature in any of the nearby woods. My new kitty, Mrs S who is due to deliver any time now, growled every time there was a pop for hours.

Hope everyone enjoys the remainder of the weekend.

Home from work and I don't see a eaglet or juvie I can hear one

OH macaroni salad I made a big bowl to take to Angie and it was good if I have to say so myself I did bring me a small bowl home but someone I don't know who LOL left it in the truck overnight and it no good now bummer and truck didn't smell to good either

I am so sleepy we had excuse me but IDIOTS that were blowing the fireworks till 2 am to me that is just disrespectful to your neighbors JMHO and they weren't the little ones they were the big boomers and its just hard to sleep with that going off but I did stay in bed and it was after 2 when I finally drifted of to la la land

Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Compared to last week, my weekend has been pretty quiet. Busy caring for Zoey She got fluids both times we went to see the vet. Also got an extra pill to take when we got home today. Tomorrow I have to have her there before 10 am to do some bloodwork and hopefully see the progress we have made. I think she feels a little better today. I sure hope things look better for her tomorrow. She is taking her pills pretty well for me so I am hoping no matter the blood results, that I can keep her at home with me this week. "Mom's" service will be on the 14th as far as I now. Praying Zoey will be well enough by then to no longer need daily vet care. Thank you all for your prayers.

Good latish evening.

Glo, it seems Zoey is holding her own and having you with her in a familiar and comfortable place is more than helpful. Kitty prayers for continued improvement.

Hope everyone else has had a good day to enjoy with friends and family.

Sandperson is on the way. Restful sleep for all.

Good late evening - I watched our USA Woman's Soccer Team win the World Championship
game with a score of 5 to 2. Our team really rocked!

Glo, I am so very happy that Zoey is home with you and I am praying her good health returns.

I am ready to turn in for the night..........

Goodnight to all and God Bless us all ♥

Good evening! How about that soccer game! Wow! Yea for team USA!

Ready to give away a 10 year old boy! Any takers? I had to threaten him with a good spanking., Grrrr! I was giving him a talk on inappropriate behavior and he rolled off the bed and would not get up. He was supposed to be sitting there looking me. He had been sneaking food. I know he does not have a lot to do but eating is not the thing to do especially not sneaking it! Have put all sweets up and he can help himself to fruit! Taking him to a movie tomorrow. Also we all went for a walk this evening! He just wants to put his nose in his iPad and is not responding to suggestions. He did play one game of chess with granddaddy. Jacob is our challenge!

On our walk saw lots of spent fireworks! Litter! Makes me so upset when people are not responsible!

Oh, I am on a roll!.....gripe gripe gripe! Time to go to bed!

Night all! SED!
