Goodorming Judy and all my eagle friends. I see both eagles are in the nest - have been there the whole time I've been catching up on last night's posts.

Shirley, it used to be so easy to just buy a TV, bring it home, and plug it in. Not anymore - cable boxes, blue ray players, DVRs, wireless networks, remotes that need programming, 3 million cables to connect - geez!! And yes, I did get another spam email from your yahoo address.

Had a good day with Mom. Lisa and I bought her a 3" memory foam mattress topper at Costco with a very nice Egyptian cotton cover to cover the topper and the whole mattress. Pricey but, if she gets a good night's sleep, well worth the money. I suspect she will be spending more time in bed now - she's sleeping about 12 hours at night.

Mom and I went out to dinner with Lisa, Mitch, Madeline and Michael last night. Mom ate a cup of soup and about 1/2 of a cheeseburger.

Denny will arrive today from Lynnis's - he had a productive few days there. Then we'll approach Mom about coming home with us for the week.

I saw one eagle poof while I was typing - the other is there but I can't tell which it is.

Hoda, how was your African storytelling at the fundraiser? Did your practice pay off?

Jo, sounds like a fun sleepover for you! How are Michael's headaches these days?

Lolly, saw some photos on FB but don't think I saw the boys on the zamboni - will check again this morning. Bet they loved it!

Looks like 2 eagles in the nest again.

Prayers for Lynne's David and for Margy's brother-in-law.

Have a great day all.

Good morning,

Feels like it might snow at anytime here.

I think those messages are e-mail spoofing. Maybe someone got your addresses when my account was hacked before. Now they are pretending to be me.

stronghunter said...

Was thinking the same thing about TVs Sandi. Will figures it is a good time to change over to Verizon, since we need new boxes anyway.

Please look out for those spoofed e-mails. I am not going to be able to do anything about those.

stronghunter said...

Nest looks empty.

Sandi said...

Back from making a grocery store run for Mom. One eagle in the nest almost completely in the IEZ. Just standing. If it's Belle and she's standing in the egg cup, we are not gonna see much this season. But I did hear her chirp so we have sound.

Mema Jo said...

Good morning to all ♥

I missed all the action this morning Thanks to all for the coverage

Good morning everyone.

Sandi, so glad your mom felt like going out and did eat some. Mattress topper sounds nice.

Shirley, I received an email from you on 2/3 about a weight loss program. Deleted it. Be careful in switching to Verizon. We've had a number of problems to include billing errors and misleading information. Darth is currently in a dispute over processing speeds we don't have but are being charged for.

Lovely view of two eagles this morning. Nest now MT.

Kay, be careful of the sandperson. Now you know first hand how he gossips. Don't tell him any secrets. lol

Congratulations Hoda on the money from the festival. What's up for today?

Off to find more coffee. Wishing everyone as good a day as possible.

Mema Jo said...

Margy I so much wanted to go in to Shepherdstown yesterday to help out. I will read the article using your link However;, these are words from Phil Mastrangelo(he is my son-in-laws brother and he calls me Mema lol)
*********************************
First I want to thank everyone that came out today and all week to show your support. Today was an amazing turn out. The "Cash Mob" was such a great event. Thank you so much to the Rosen family at PLUM for organizing this and show us lots of love. Thank you to the Mellow Moods staff for kicking butt today and everyday, but today tested us and you all did it with a smile. We have so many to thank and we will get to each and everyone of you. Shepherdstown, you have made us feel pretty special this week. ♥

When my e-mail was hijacked awhile back, I found that someone in Taiwan was involved. I got that from looking at the log-ins on my account.

Sandi said...

I believe we have at least one eagle in the nest - in the IEZ.

Shirley, we switched from Comcast to Verizon DSL when we were still living in Balto. and I hated how slow our internet was. I have my share of problems with Mediacom's customer service but won't give it up b/c their high speed internet is so much faster than Verizon DSL. Now, if you have Verizon FIOS available where you live, that's a completely different story. If we had FIOS, I'd say goodbye to Mediacom in a heartbeat!

stronghunter said...

Yes, I believe it is FIOS that was just installed on our street. Kathryn had it before she moved in with me, and she liked it very much. I do hope we won't have billing issues. Do not need that.

stronghunter said...

Will seems to think Verizon FIOS is good. Hunter does not approve, but he does not get a vote.

NCSuzan said...

Shirley, I had not read the blog last night and did not know of the tv issues. Plus sometimes I worry that you are maybe a little bit, I am going to say it, ignored. Sometimes it is a good thing and sometimes when you are banging on a door to get in the house, it is not.

NCSuzan said...

Sandi, lifting you and your family up.

Everyone have a great day.

Good Afternoon Eagle Buds !!!

Looks like I left a few minutes too soon early this morning. Had to consider Penny's morning needs and missed Belle n' Shep. Thanks to those of you who caught and relayed the action, both early and then a little later in the day !

SANDI, I'm sure your TLC has done wonders for your Mother. I hope she agrees to going home with you and Denny today ! Love reading about her meals---even going out to eat---her new soft bedding....She raised wonderful daughters !

SHIRLEY, I'm amazed that my system knew to send that bogus message to SPAM ! Sounds like you've taken all the precautions you can. Wouldn't hurt for all of us to run our own Security Scans and/or Malware Detection.

MARGY n' JO, s'wonderful to hear from your SIL's bro about the successful "Cash Mob" !

Shep just appeared in the nest with a HUGE stick and placed it beautifully on the rails at the 3 spot. Fine tuning it now.

Kay said...

How can they not be planning to use this nest for serious business when Shep does things like that ?

Sandi said...

Both in the nest now but in the IEZ.

Sandi said...

I agree, Kay! Why oh why can't they love the 6 position in the nest instead of the 12 position?? :(

Sandi said...

Ooh, Belle just wiggled herself down in that grass - did ya see that, Kay??

Mema Jo said...

Shirley let me know in a message on Fb if you have a new email address for me to send you anything... Thx

Lolly said...

Hi all! Yesterday was so much fun! I love it when all 9 of us can get together. Before the hockey game we went to Victory Plaza which is just right there at the Arena. Band was blasting, jump houses for little ones, and street hockey for bigger kids. Joseph and Jacob participated, but Jacob did not. Then to the hockey game and the Zamboni ride. The boys loved it. They were waving and waving to the crowd. The STARS won so that made it even better. What a night.

And, before it was all over, Lolly could not longer talk. Same today, still feeling head achey, but better but can not talk. I did go to church as I keep thinking if I go about as normal, surely I will feel better. We did not get home and to bed until 2 AM. Way too late!!

Sandi, so excited that your mom is up to going to your place. Sounds like she is eating pretty good. Small meals often, sounds like the way to go.

Lolly said...

Just brought up the cam and there is and eagle in the nest and snow coming down. Wish eagle would sit in the egg cup and cover it up. I say eagle but I think it is Shep. Yep, see the spot. He is in full view.

Lolly said...

Now walked out of view. Nest is covering quickly with snow,

Judie said...

MT nest except for the dreaded snow. Agree, Lolly, wish one of them would come cover up the egg cup.

Judie said...

Drat! Snow flakes falling here. Very weary of snow and cold.

Snow probably headed for you, Shirley.

Judie said...

Glad you all had such a fun day yesterday, Lolly, and that the favored team won.

Mema Jo said...

Finished my panda nap and boy is it ever snow covered and worst of all the Nest is MT... Well Judie I guess we are stuck out on the limb ♥

Lolly so happy of the good time you and all the family had... Which GS did NOT participate in the street hockey? Sorry about your voice - was it mainly due to cheering for the team?

stronghunter said...

Yes, Judie, it is snowing here. But a bit too warm to stick, if you can call 38 degrees warm.

stronghunter said...

I see snow on the nest.

JudyEddy said...

Mema Jo said...

Sandi it will be goo when Denny gets to your mom - you never know he may have "Name information" from Lynnis.
Most of my WV friends had lost power for few hours - but not like 4 days as some friends here in Frederick.

Hope your mom will agree to come to your home for a week's visit. It would give you more peace of mind.

Lolly said...

No, Jo, do not think loss of voice was yelling and cheering. Did not do much of that. Think it is the result of drainage and coughing....the result of what ever bug I have had this week. When Larry got here he had a cough and laryngitis. Sweet brother, I think, gave me two bugs!!

Lolly said...

Oh Jo, what a fun time we could have on the limb together. I'll bring a space heater to melt the snow.

Off to the scullery. Baked salmon and asparagus tonight.

NatureNut said...

Good Afternoon, Eaglebuds! Had awakened at 4AM, because konked in chair shortly after getting home from Park yesterday. Had Panda nap since about noon! I don't do 6 day weeks, meaning not all work but 3 Dr. appts. on some days off.
Had some fat & skinny snow flakes starting about 4 PM here, but slowing down. At Park Sat. saw about 2 dozen tiny flakes, then sun tried to peek through. Was wondering if we'd have rainbow sequins! NOT!
Nest looks the same as here. I can't detect any sound from Live Cam & have volume up all the way. Read of egg laying predictions, but see they are now out on a limb!

Sandi, want you to know thoughts, prayers, and hearts are w/you and family. How wonderful if Mom could come home w/you.
Prayers also for Lynne1's son and Margy's BIL and all others in need.

Sandi said...

Hi all - got home around 6:30 - WITH MOM!! :) She didn't have a good car ride unfortunately - had pain in her back and side for most of the trip. But she ate dinner when she got here and is sitting in the dining room now next to the gas fireplace checking her email on a laptop.

Judy, I won't take off this week. Denny is in and out throughout the day and so is Kevin. Mom slept til 11:30 both mornings this weekend so, if she sleeps that late, I'm home by 3:45!

Opened the live feed hoping to see Belle still in the nest - instead I see snow! YUK! We got some flakes here just after we got home but they have stopped now - too warm for anything to stick.

I don't have any sound on the live fee either, though I did all day - strange!

Jo, Lynnis gave Denny no clues about the baby's name, except to say she dreamed this name after her 2nd or 3rd date with Brian. She said she knew by then that this was the man she was going to marry and they would have children together. Kevin's guess is "Unicorn Rainbow!" Unicorn Rainbow Roberts - has a nice ring to it, dontcha think???

OK, need to work on Mom's laundry. I just threw her basket of dirty laundry from last week into the Jeep and brought it - told her once it's clean, she'll have all the clothes she needs for this week!

Goodnight all - thanks again for all of the prayers, encouragement, kind words, and positive energy for Mom. I'm really glad to have her here for the week.

paula eagleholic said...

Evening, all!

Sandi, hope you are getting your Mom settled in at your house...

I see the snow on the nest.

Larry is getting some in Rehoboth.

Nothing here.

Spent the day under the house. Got the water lines wrapped and put up insulation that had never been put back in after all the plumbing work my brother did.

Going to finish up laundry and watch some Olympics.

Sure hope our birds wait, with the impending snow. We know that you can't stop an egg from coming...I remember Belle laying one right on the snow covered nest.

paula eagleholic said...

Sandi, glad you made it home safely and got your Mom settled in.

So, I don't know how much of this early nesting season I will be here for.

Larry came down to the beach with me because he needed to see a doctor. He didn't have one at home, or in Delaware, so we decided he should go to my hospital, and if he needed treatment, I would be here to help him and take care of him and Pepper.

So he saw a doctor at my hospital, McCready, last week. The doctor did a CT scan and sent him to an ENT in Salisbury.

Larry has a growth on the left side of his neck, right under the jaw/ear line. He saw the ENT on Thursday and they did a biopsy. They said 95% sure it is cancerous. The final results will be in tomorrow on Monday, but they said don't be hopeful it is non-cancerous.

So, we talked about the treatment options, and he will probably opt for the surgery first, then chemo/radiation together after surgery. It is an aggresive treatment plan. Hospital and treatment is in Salisbury.

He will call the doctor tomorrow for the biopsy results and we will go from there. Surgery could be as early as next week, providing all the pre-op testing is OK.

I have faith that the surgery and treatment will get rid of it...I just have to instill that faith in him! I need to make sure that he keeps up a positive attitude as well.

Of course, a few prayers never hurt :)

paula eagleholic said...

Sandi, I think Rainbow Brite Roberts has an even better ring to it ;)

Oh, glad you heard from Jim, Jo.

I just can't keep up with Downton Abbey. Tonight I've been watching other things. But Sunday night is when Kathryn and I sit down to talk about her weekend adventures. She runs errands and gets together with her friends, then fills me in on the events. By the time I realize what time it is, we're too involved in conversation for me to stop and go watch TV.

We have Downton Abby recorded. Did not watch it but have been wathing the Olympics.

Really feeling lousy. It seems I go from one thing to another. Right now my head is hurting, can not talk, coughing, congestion, etc.

Lovely weather predicted for the next two days. Possible wintery mix the next couple of days.

I was thinking that was Palmer, the 4th egg. Wasn't sure, so I did not say anything. But, bet you are correct, Paula.

Heading to a hot, steamy shower. That should feel good and be relaxing.

Good morning Momsters!

Paula, sorry to hear about Larry's presumed diagnosis. Hope they're wrong when you get the results today. Prayers, just in case. ♥

Sandi, How wonderful to hear your Mom is up and about and out! Glad you got her to go home with you. You'll have a busy, but happy, week.

Kay, hope you had a fabulous weekend and it included time with Seth. :)

Shirley, I got some of your spam emails as well. Sorry you are going through this - no fun!

Lolly, do you have your voice back today? Hope you're feeling better.

Margy, prayers for your BIL.

Guess what? I've got today off! It's for working the 12 hour shifts. Still there's lots to do and keep me busy: Elderly Nutrition presentation/project; finally, my Infant Growth & Development presentation will be this week; the Nutritional Banquet is tomorrow - I have to take a dish (deviled eggs since I don't cook) with the recipe and ALL the nutrition info and highlights. Just started working on a Downs Syndrome project/presentation that isn't due until next month but wanted to get it out of the way since I've been assigned another HUGE case study paper that will be bigger than the last one at 36 pages. UGH!

Hoda, have fun skiing on your Family Day. I know you'll enjoy the yoga.

Goodorming Lori and all my eagle friends. Nest is snowy and MT.

Paula, I'm so sorry to hear about Larry's possible diagnosis. Prayers that the cancer is contained and the surgery is a success with the chemo/radiation just a precaution. It sounds like the two of you have a solid plan of action.

Lolly, hope you start feeling better today - this illness has hung on for quite a while for you!

Lori, enjoy your day off.

Well, I am finally back in classrooms today - it will feel good to get back into the drama of teaching 8th grade. And math teacher #6 starts today - hope she decides to stay.

Have a great day all.

Good morning!

2 hour delay for us today, but I report to jury duty. I guess I will head to the school and walk to the court house. I sure hope the sidewalks are clear downtown.

WOW Lori, your program sounds intense. Is it an LPN or RN program. Somehow I missed that information long ago! I give you so much credit. Going back to school, I know how hard it is and can't believe I managed it now that I look back.

Sandi glad mom is doing better.

Paula...sorry about the possible diagnosis. Prayers

Good Morning Eagle Buds

Nest is MT at present time with the exception of the snow

Good morning,

Nest is empty, as far as I can tell, but there is evidence of a visit. Snow is messed up and there might have been some sticks delivered.

I need to find some food and go practice my bowling.

I see that some WV schools are closed or have delayed openings today.

Not seeing an eagle now, Jo. But I see eagle footprints. A really good one at 5:00.

Must go practice rolling that bowling ball. I might throw or toss it before it rolls.

Hi, Everyone,
I apologize for being MIA again, but it's been kind of a crazy few days. Last Thursday, Ken was laid off at work. Well, I guess you'd call it retired. He's been with Fender Musical Instruments for 48 years, and didn't see this coming at all. There's been a regime change recently, and they are "cutting back." Thank God, they did give him a severance package, and he's covered with medical insurance through the end of the month. We can COBRA his insurance, and once we get him signed up with Medicare Part B, we can sign him up for Kaiser Permanente Senior Advantage, which is what I have. The payment comes out of your Social Security check. He's really pretty OK with this sudden "retirement", as he was only planning on working 2 more years, but it was a bit of a shock, with no warning. He went in on Sunday morning--they let him come in to pack up his stuff in his office. A couple of other old-timers were let go too, including his good buddy Chuck, who is taking this decidedly harder than Ken is. Please say some prayers for him! We are both meeting him for lunch on Wednesday, and hope to keep in close touch with him after that.
One good thing about this is that I have been able to begin walking the mall with Ken again! So far today I have logged over 10,200 steps, and it's not even dinnertime!

Have kept up a little with our blog, and prayers are going up bigtime for Sandi's Mom, and that entire family. My heart goes out to all of you! Also, prayers for Lynne1's David, and for Lolly & Jack. Sure hope everyone feels better soon! Oh--I have FANTASTIC news about our GD, Courtney! She and her fellow cheerleaders on the Platinum Team with Pro Spirit were in San Antonio, TX for a major competition, and they gave the performance of their lives! They won Level 4 Senior 1st place, All Level 4 Grand Champion, and they're going to the Summit in May, at Disney World! The bid to the Summit will be fully paid. When they go to the Summit, they will be on ESPN TV! They have won jackets and a ring, so it's sort of like winning the Super Bowl! We are so thrilled for them, and couldn't be prouder!
OK, I'd better get going now, but hope to be back for a bit after dinner tonight. Right now, Emma is getting hungry. BBL! I ♥ us!!!
