Have finished updating Quickbooks and have balanced Denny's checkbook - ALWAYS a pleasure (NOT) and figured I'd check in on Belle and the blog one more time before I hop into the tub and then my own bed. I see Steve gave us a FIRST EGG OF THE 2014 SEASON thread! Thanks Steve, and thanks Kay for the call over!

Goodnight my eagle friends - thanks for all the prayers, emotional support and words of wisdom for Mom.

Hi all,

Thank you Steve for the new thread to greet our new egglet.

Congrats to Kay and thanks for the holler.

So happy to see Belle in the nest tending her eaglet-to-be. Do hope the snow passes by Sheperdstown.

Headed to the pillows early tonight. Busy day tomorrow. Sandperson has volunteered to make several visits to the Sycamore palace tonight to check on things.

Night light is on. Restful sleep for all.

HOORAY, HOORAY! HELLO, HELLO!
I checked just cam after 7PM, saw Belle in well & thought, "boy, oh boy, there's gonna be an egg tonight", captured pics for album AND THERE IS AN EGG!!!
Read back and see that Sandi saw egg at about 5:56! Wonder when it was laid? Will have to check Deb S. video, I guess.
Altho Shirley has cat named George, this Eggbert could have any of the other Pres. names whose B'days we are celebrating!!
GW B'Day is really 2-22, my parents' anniversary!

SANDI Miss Darby my ski fur friend owns my friend Dale and her husband Barry. She is a very good ski dog, also an accomplished hiker.
She is totally vegetarian, nay Vegan!
Turns her nose up on animal products!
I laugh as her food bill is higher than mine!!!
She is loving and shares her very big house with Dale and Berry. They just returned from Ecuador and even though they spent the month before their departure preparing her favourite meals and snack, she was not too impressed that they left her with a sitter got a month!
She has Character Miss Darby!

Been collecting pics, vid links, etc. President's Day now includes GW and Lincoln, both born in Feb., so a couple names for Eggbert1 could be GW, George, Abe, or good ol' Prez!
Gotta nibble some din din, hit the hay~~~early AM work, unless there is a snow delay. They expect 1-2" of something here.
Good Health Prayers for ALL, esp. Larry, Sandi's Mom, Miracle Michael, Margy's upcoming surgery and any others who are ailing.
Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>) ♥ ♥ ♥

PattiO said...

Just wanted to pop in and say congrats to all the Momsters!! May not be the greatest view this year but Belle and Shep are there, healthy, and we have an egg! :)

Lolly said...

Thanks, PattiO! We are all very excited!! At first we were not sure they were going to use this nest, and then Belle went the lastest ever to give us this egg!

PattiO said...

I'm excited too Lolly! This is one of my most favorite nests that's I've been watching for a long time. I'm sad to hear the tree itself is not doing well (?). I think this weather is affecting egg laying. Perhaps they've all been holding out just a little longer with all the snow.

Lolly said...

That is what we have been thinking.

Yes, very sad the the tree is not healthy. BUT, we have them this year!!!!

Lolly said...

Worked hard in the yard today. First I cut a bouquet of daffodils. I have so many blooming this year! Then I cleaned my herb garden. My oregano really suffered this winter. Hoping it will come back from the roots. Cleaned a few flowerbeds. Going to work out there again tomorrow. High today was 75!!

Now I am pooped, so starting to think about my pillow.

Night all! SED!!!

Lolly said...

Snowing at the nest. Just saw Belle shake the snow off. She is doing a great job being a mumbrella!

Hoda said...

Good night
All is well at the nest

God Bledd us All.

DanaMo said...

Good morning! So eggciting to see someone in the nest this morning.
We did get snow, but not too much. Delayed opening for school, but from the look of highway cams the main roads are fine.
It is VERY windy though. I have been listening to my chimes all night really blowing in the wind (I like it, but I'm not sure how my neighbors feel).

I have homework to do for my class tonight, so I better get to it.

Sandi said...

Goodorming my eagle friends. Windy at the nest with some snow - Belle looks tucked in.

No snow here - only rain - no surprise. Was hoping for a delay.

Today is my first of 2 appointments with the periodontist for my gum procedure. Sure not looking forward to this! Hope I will feel OK when the Novocaine wears off to chat with everyone this afternoon/evening.

Have a great day everyone.

Bye Belle. Bye egglet.

Sandi said...

BTW, hatch date would be 3/24!

Hoda, about Darby - a vegan dog - really???? What do they feed her for her protein source? Dogs are carnivores - must say I have never heard of a vegan or vegetarian dog!

Dana & Lori, enjoy your delays!

Gotta go! TTFN!

DanaMo said...

Good luck with your procedure, Sandi. I hope you feel okay when it's over.

DanaMo said...

I think Shep is in the nest, isn't he? I thought I saw his spot.

DanaMo said...

But I'm not good at identifying. So I will let someone else make the call. :)

Lovely view of Belle this morning. Just a bit of snow on the nest. That is no problem for this tough bird.

Janet said...

Well good morning! And an EGG was EGG-zactly what we all needed to boost our spirits! Woo hoo!
SANDI: hope your dental procedure goes well
Not too much here. Sunny and in the mid 60’s today. Gonna get a few thigns done, but not over do it.
We had a gloomy day yesterday, so nice to see the sun today.
Nothing much to report, happy we have an egg. Hopefully another perhaps!? And, hopefully Ma Nature will settle down and not snow and be too nasty for our royal couple tending that precious egg….
Everyone have a lovely day. (((hugs))))
