Good morning.

Thank you Steve and Jo.

I see Margy has departed in preparation of ascending into the big blue sky. Really hope she has a time of fun and memory-making.

Paula, have fun this weekend. Fingers crossed for you.

Shirley, I literally laughed out loud. I have a crowd at my house? Hmmmm. Pot calling the kettle black? Happy packing today. Safe travels tomorrow. Have a really fun week.

Jo, check out the update on Lun Lun's babies, if you haven't had time. Really cute picture.

Lolly, safe travels and have fun. Glad Jack is feeling better.

Recipe sounds yummy, Sandi. Must try soon.

Janet, congrats on Olivia's skating progress and your new coaching career.

Thank you, Lynne2.

Hoda, your blog family is a source of support for you and we share your apprehension. Have a peaceful day.

Okay, the day has arrived. Even the evil Jufie could not stop the arrival. Sorting and updating of lecture notes must begin. Must finalize the course syllabus today and make available to the next 100 wannabe adults. Oh well. At least the sky is blue and the sun is shining.

Wishing everyone a lovely day.

JudyEddy said...

I love it this time of the day you can see her white head and tail so clearly instead in the evening were she looks like a black blob LOL

JudyEddy said...

DID you see the BIG WHITE feather that just flew down from her TAIL

JudyEddy said...

I tired to do a snip but missed the feather It was a long white one

OK someone need to go under the tree LOL and pick it up LOL Just kidding we would never have a real eagles feather just the ones we pretend about

JudyEddy said...

she is still preening

Mema Jo said...

Judy - that new camera could be a long time coming...

I missed the Fallen Feather. lol

Lori O. said...

Good Afternoon!

Thanks STEVE for the new thread!

Thank you, JO, for the call over and congrats on the feather.

LOLLY, have fun at the waterpark this afternoon. T-shirts sound great.

SANDI, hope you're enjoying the kids at the tennis court.

PAULA, waiting for your news.

JUDYE, sorry about Jordyn'e ear. That's painful for a kid. I used to get them all the time.

I've been doing homework all morning... 4 chapters of homework done...two to go. Think I'll take a nap!

Dogs need to go out first. :)

JudyEddy said...

A large bird is flying behind the tree area I have seen it three times now I wonder if its Shep

stronghunter said...

Thanks for the new thread, Steve.

Thanks for the call-over, Jo.

The age of technology--Kathryn had Hunter do his cleaning chores and send a pic. Then he got Xbox permission.

Judie, at least my housemates are not mythical!!

stronghunter said...

Bandage for Jordyn's ear--Kathryn had to put a Band-aid on Hunter's ear once when he was little. He had a terrible infection.

stronghunter said...

I still remember having earaches, too. Long time ago. Used to lie on a heating pad.

JudyEddy said...

I also love using the heat pad for ear infection I told Angie about that to if it tends to bother her but right now she is in no pain I guess last night she must had been laying on it

JudyEddy said...

We are watching Peter Pan at the present time I just got out of the shower so I won't have to take one when I get home this evening I guess next week I will only have Jordyn on Fri Angie wants her to stay at school on Thur to do homework they don't have home work on Fri
I may just try to change my days on to FRI and SAT I hope they let me with no issues this way I can spend family time on Sat with them also

I asked one of the zone mgrs and he said they they may not give me my full hours of 40 if I change my availability

Jordyn just announced she is tired

Lolly said...

Home from the water park. It really does not have the tall slides that the boys like, but they had fun for a while.

Have posted pics on fb of our t-shirts and will bring them over here.

Judie said...

Shirts are great, Lolly. All four of you look terrific.

JudyE, I guess I'm not current on employment stuff but seems to me it might be questionable to cut hours just because of a change of work days. Fulltime/40 hours is fulltime/40 hours regardless of the days worked. What am I missing? Well, anyway, hope you can get accommodation without loss of hours.

Darth has a concert tonight. Small pizza w/sauce, cheese, basil. My basil is looking like it wants to retire.

paula eagleholic said...

Hi all

Just checking in

Cloudy, cool and 77 here in Paradise

No word on the job

Youg osrey is doing well...was soaring over the house

JudyEddy said...

at Walmart the store is suppose to run on a computerized schedule And your availability depends on your hours But I know they are keying in my hour 8-5 each day when the computer does it it gives me 10-7 and 9-6 as shifts so they are now doing my schedule My availability is 7-7 and they can't not schedule me out of the area Remember a while back that they were letting the system do the schedules Well most people work the computer schedule there are only a handful that is like me that they change so I am so super lucky on that part full time is 32-40 hours and they can't give me less that 32 also

Being its retail they want peeps to work on weekend most people don't want to or like to but I have been doing it for years I have always worked on Sun because I want to and I get time and a half for it but only have been doing Sat since Jordyn was born my NA days are now Thu/Fri but before it was Fri/Sat and I want to change it back to that I will plea family time to try to get Sat back .

I hope I have explained it good enough

Got Jordyn to wake up finally I let her sleep on the couch easy to wake her than if she was in the bed

I put the drops in her ears when she was asleep and she didn't even budge so she has two does today I am so happy that she is not in pain now and that Angie reacted quickly

JUDIE, agree with you on JUDYE's schedule. Pizza sounds delightful.

PAULA, I hope they don't keep you waiting forever with news of the job. Have a great weekend in Paradise.

MARGY is winging her way to Germany now!

Waiting for Kate to call. Going to meet her at IHOP for dinner, then to Wally World for some school stuff.

Margy must be high in the sky right now! Anyone doing a flight tracker on her?

Shirely, hope you have a WONDERFUL trip!

I really can't wait to see everyone's pictures...Hawkwood, CO, Germany, Paradise, etc. etc.
I'll post some MANCHESTER pics!

Lori, how is RoRo doing today? Curious as to what meds they have used for pain...

Very cool about Livvy's skating ventures!

And Judy, so sorry about Jordyn's ear. OMG, I remember vividly those earaches as a kid.

Beautiful shirts and beautiful children, Lolly.

stronghunter said...

Last night, it was hard to sleep because I'm excited about the trip. Hope I can sleep tonight. Flight is set for 6:00 PM. Kathryn works until 2:00. We will probably drive to her work and leave my car there, then drive in Kathryn's car at Rus's and get him to take us to the airport. That way we avoid the parking fees, and Rus can use Kathyrn's SUV to haul around his model airplanes.

Hoda said...

I had a perfect day. I rode my bicycle, I went to yoga a d then went to the beach for a swim.
Had several very good conversations with friends.

Family in Egypt report they are still safe.
Blessed Be.

A new yoga studio is opening in September and some of my favourite teachers will move there. Yoga seems to be teaching me lessons on Change.
MTBR

Tomorrow I will Dragon Boat, come get my bicycle and ride out to Cottonwood Market to volunteer with the Grans. I had better not inhale since I will be on my bicycle for the ride home!!!LOL

Shambhala had 200 arrests for drug dealing in five days.
From Marijuana to Crystal Meth!!!
The police was not amused when one if the guards from a private company was handed a sealed bottle of water. She drank it and sadly it turned out to contain LSD!!!
They are upset she is upset as she had a very bad reaction. This is the most serious of happenings. To drug someone without their consent is a serious crime in Canada's Criminal Code.

The air is clearing. We still have a few street people begging for money to get out of town. This part I do not understand. The tickets to enter Shambhala are almost 400 dollars yet they do not have fare to leave. The week before and the week after the soup kitchen is very heavily used and so are the homeless shelters.

Blessed Be.

We should be back to normal the end of next week.

stronghunter said...

George has been getting in my suitcase. I left it open and found him sleeping in the lid. At least not on my clothes.

stronghunter said...

Lynne, perhaps you are familiar with my sister-in-law's place of employment. She works at Heska. They develop medications for veterinary use.

Back many years ago, she was working on a medication for pet allergies caused by flea bites. They were collecting flea spit. It seems that the fleas spit when they bite, and that is what causes the allergic reaction.

I think they ran into major problems because the flea spit was too hard to collect. I can imagine so.

stronghunter said...

Yikes, Hoda, I would be upset, too, if someone gave me LSD.

So glad your family in Egypt is safe.

Lolly said...

Movie is over and boys are getting ready for bed. Joseph showers and Jacob is in the tub playing with the bad guys.

Made to two pizzas tonight and will freeze one to take with us. It will be nice to have one night on our trip to just heat and serve.

JudyEddy said...

Hello home from Angie
She got her car ran in to while she was at Walmart shopping When she came out she saw a firetruck and ambulance in the area of her car She said to herself I hope i can squeeze out of there As she walked up to her car she noticed that her car was parked crocked in the spot Apparently a young guy said he had a seizure and passed out the girl grabbed the wheel she/he took out 3 cars before she got it stopped Well his dad showed up and said he had no record of ever having seizure They did not take him to hospital but here in Fl if you cause a accident with a seizure you loose your licence for two years you have to prove you are seizure free for two years before getting it back The officer and others don't think there was a seizure but can't prove it
I put a pic on FB and the door does open so that is a good thing

Lolly said...

Oh, my, Hoda! People not taking responsibility of taking care of themselves!!! Hey, we wear tie

I would be upset too LOLLY AND SHIRLEY!!!
She is a young lady from the community and they use locals to keep an eye on things.

I like the Texas Hippies with their tye due shirts from FB much better LOLLY.

Back from breakfast for dinner at IHOP. Actually I had Pork Filet and it was very good - I'm not a pork eater either. It just looked good.

LOLLY, your pizza to go sounds great! Pizza is great anytime!

HODA, so happy you had a great day and that your family is safe. Poor lady who got the LSD water. That would truly freak me out. Not cool!

Wonder how SANDI did on the tennis court with the kids?

PAULA, hope you had a great dinner and they had crabby mac for you! Too bad Nick didn't get to go.

LYNNE2, they gave RoRo tramadol for pain. Knocks him out. He's snoring within 30 min after his meals - he has to have it with food. They also gave him Rimydil - not usre if that is the right spelling, and an antibiotic.

SHIRLEY, have a great time on your trip. Do you think you'll be able to get on the blog at all? WWF?

Have a great night everyone. Sweet dreams and AOYP.

Does anyone know what happened to GLO? Haven't seen her on here.

Lynne2 said...

I'm familiar with Heska, Shirley. I think our ultrasound might be a Heska.

Flea spit is very hard to catch. They aim for your eyes when they spit, and of course the natural inclination is to blink and duck, so you miss catching it in the specially design spittoon.

Tramadol and Rimadyl are a pretty good combo, we use it a lot post surgery. If it's knocking him out too much, you can speak to the vet about a slight decrease in the dose. Glad things are going well!

Hoda said...

Missing GLO too LORI. Several of us have asked and no one has an answer.
Maybe a phone call is in order?

I bet George is sensing you are leaving SHIRLEY?

Missing JO too tonight. She has not posted for a while.

Believe me - I do love all of you BUT it is true that I do not check in on the hour every hour in the evening. I had my Hallmark movie keeping me busy.
Now that I am here I can only stay a minute or two because it is that time of the week for me to fill my pill boxes.

Lynne - be sure to look up in the trees for those bears..

Shirley - I bet you will have a restless night - I wish for you to have AOYP.. Safe journey ♥

Margy could very well be in Germany - I'll need to go back a day and look at her schedule. She is very fortunate to have such a special nephew.

Good grief, I return to find a abundance of activities have been reported.

Flea spit? Please deliver me! Flea spit? Probably no more fun than spittin into the wind. Oh wait, there's some good to that. I can threaten to lock the evil Jufie in a room filled with spitting fleas. Cool!

Shirley, do try to get some restful sleep. I've never packed a suitcase that a cat didn't take up residence. They know. Car arrangement seems good. Safe travels and please check in if you can.

JudyE, very sorry about Angie's car Glad she was not in it. A seizure? Well, likely this was someone who had just returned from Shambala.

Do not like that water was spiked with LSD.

Jo, I watched a rerun of Midsomer.

Hoda, relieved to know that your family has been in contact and is safe. Also glad you will be able to join yoga classes with some of your prior instructors. Have fun tomorrow.

Sheesh, Sandperson is huffing and puffing in the hall closet trying to get the satchel closed. Jufie, however, is in a room filled with spitting fleas. Sandperson is departing in 14 minutes. Restful sleep for all.

It's been humid again here today. The humidity was 81% this morning, higher than the temperature! Yikes!
Enough, already. I'm praying for a snowstorm.

Hoda, praise God that your family in Egypt is safe! Prayers continue big-time!

Judie, wishing you the very best as you prepare for school. Do hope the wannabes are an exceptional bunch this year.

Hello,

Having some trouble sleeping. I almost had a seizure, though, laughing at the flea spit comments. That part of her career was many years ago, but I have always found it memorable.

The other thing I remember is the foot pads of armadillos--she did research on leprosy. As I recall, armadillos can get leprosy, and there is something about their foot pads--it concentrates there or some such thing. I do not think this was at Heska. Believe it was at Colorado State University.

So sorry about Angie's car, Judy. Hope things go smoothly with the repair.

stronghunter said...

Humidity here is quite low, and the temperature was in the 70's. Fantastic weather. Jim said that August would be a good time to leave Virginia and visit Colorado because the weather in Virginia is so hot and humid in August. Well, it usually is.

stronghunter said...

I will not be taking my computer since Jim and Shirley don't have Internet at home, but I will have my cell phone and can do WWF on that. Sometimes I can get to the blog, and, of course, I can get to FB. Guess I might exceed my data plan limits, but I won't worry about that.

stronghunter said...

Thanks for all of the good wishes. At this point, I am thinking that I might be sleeping on the airplane. Hunter has football practice at 8:00
AM. I am not looking forward to that.

stronghunter said...

Going to go back upstairs and try to sleep. Maybe with a cup of herbal tea. It usually helps.

stronghunter said...

Andy, I do hope the weather becomes more cooperative for you. I guess I haven't associated humidity with California weather.

GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDS

stronghunter said...

Hi, Judy. Getting ready to get dressed and off to football practice. Will see you later.

Sandi said...

Good morning my eagle friends!

Shirley, safe travels to CO today! Enjoy your family!

Judy, what a shame about Angie's car, but as others have said, at least she wasn't in it! Hope Jordyn's ear is fine today now that she's been on the meds for a bit.

Lori, good news that RoRo is sleeping a lot while his leg heals. It's when they start feeling like their old self and want to run and play that things get tough!

Cloudy here - forecast looks bad for the whole weekend. Not sure that we'll get to Fishtales on the boat.

Tennis for me at 9am - don't know what the rest of the day will bring. Madeline and Michael have done their share of fighting this visit. I think that being off from school together for the whole summer is getting to them. They're only 2 years apart and are very competitive with one another - for the TV remote, for other people's attention, for winning a game.

Make it a great day all!

Lori O. said...

Good Morning Eagle Friends!

HODA, have a good bike ride, swim and a good time with the Grans today. Praying for safety for your family in Egypt and holding you close.

SANDI, play well at tennis this morning! How much longer are your house guests there?

SHIRLEY, today is the day! Wishing you a fantastic trip. Sorry they don't have internet, but hope your phone will work fine for you. Would love to hear from you in CO.

PAULA, looking forward to your bird stories of today.

JUDIE, what are you up to today?

JANET, hope your weather is warm today so you can go out and enjoy your pool! You deserve it.

JUDYE, glad to hear Jordyn's ear is not bothering her much. Have a good day at work.

JO, get all your pills done and in their dispenser? That's such a huge time saver. I used to do the same thing...gotta get back in that habit!

LOLLY, have fun doing yardwork with the kids today, and getting the trailer tonight! I'm so excited for you all.

Great pics, LORETTA. Cute fox and loved the Monarch Butterfly! Thanks for sharing.

JO, glad you're relaxing today. Hope you get to go to the market tomorrow. Say Hi to Megan if you do.

Almost two hours and SHIRLEY will be flying her way to Colorado! Time went fast!

PAULA, sorry about the boat motor. Hope rowing out to get the crab pots isn't too much work, and they're filled with crab for you.

Hi, Everyone,

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday. It's hot & humid here again--yuck. Going up to 88 today, with 70% humidity. Feels like the tropics. Will try to lay low during the worst of it.

Paula, sorry to hear that your boat motor is ailing. Hope it's not an expensive fix!

Haven't heard anything about our friend Jim in a couple of days--hoping that no news is good news.
Far as I know he's still in the hospital. They kept extending his stay. Prayers that they figure out what's causing his breathing difficulty! Lord, give those doctors YOUR wisdom!

Had breakfast with my Sis-in-law. Got our shopping done. Bought some "picnic food" at Vons so we won't have to cook for a day or two! Our kitchen bakes in the afternoon sun.

Emma's been wearing her "Kool Collar" (which contains a blue ice insert) and hanging out in front of the fan.

Well, better go get a bit of lunch for us. Don't feel like eating much, but will figure out something. As Judie often says, will go to kitchen and try to find some inspiration.

HAGD, everyone, and keep cool!
I ♥ us!!!

Sandi said...

Hi all, just checking in. We have an eagle in the tree!

Tennis this morning was great fun - no nasty partners!!

Lisa, Mitch, kids, and Mom went to Rehoboth for the afternoon - Mom to do some shopping with her new mobility scooter, the Buchmans to go to the amusement park. So it's been a quiet day for Denny and me. I suggested the boat when I got home from tennis, since tomorrow is supposed to be a rainy day but they had already made other plans. I'm sure the kids will have fun on the rides.

Judie, when do classes start?

Paula, bummer about the boat motor! Hope it's an easy - and inexpensive - fix! Good luck with catching some crabs!

Later!

Long but interesting day.

Glad to be back and rested.

I was supposed to go to a lecture tonight but I am too tired.
Also we have free movies in the park on the weekend
And I will miss that too.

Some of The Shambhala crowd is still around and the Cotton wood Market certainly was different in energy.
The city police showed up twice and escorted people out.
I felt uncomfortable.

The RCMP and the city police showed up a third time after some of the Shambhala folks were walking around offering people cut watermelon!!!
None of the locals accepted. Most if us are mistrustful after the LSD incident.
Those the police took out left without resistance.

I think we are all ready for them to be gone!!!
The police is working overtime and I am very pleased to see them out and about.

Wishing SHIRLEY and Family safe travels.

Good to see you checked in LOLLY.

Gonna go grab a book amd read.

Shirley must be in CO and Margy in Germany. Me, well I'm still in VA.

Good evening to all. It was a busy day.

I slept in a bit and had to get moving after coffee...we had a 6th birthday party at the house today.

I did manage to get stuff done, to include vacuuming the pool before they got here....

It was warmer today, but certainly not hot. The pool water temp is down to 80. A bit chilly when the sun isn't out, but the kids didn't care!

We grilled hot dogs....with all the fixin's....sauerkraut, chili, onions, cheese, etc....then homemade chocolate ice cream and cake....and presents of course!

I will put pix on my blog.

YES! I DID eat my gi-nor-mus fig this morning! And I plucked another for tomorrow...soooo yummmmmmmmy.

Hope everyone has a good and restful night! SED

Paula, congrats on the published photo - you've posted some pretty sunsets on FB!

First day of school tomorrow for teachers! blah...excited to start a new year in some way, not so much in other ways. If they would just let us teach!

Sandi said...

Good morning, Dana! I was wondering when your school year starts. Wouldn't it be nice if 10 weeks of school went by as quickly as 10 weeks of summer break? I'm hoping for a better bunch of kinders for you this year - I know you are too!

I want to be you! Life at the beach! We used to always start after Labor Day, then we started going along with public schools! Now it seems like no matter when we start we don't even end up getting out earlier. I think it's all the "professional days" that have been added! Poosha!

Good Morning Early Birds, SANDI, DANAMO, JUDYE....

How great to have all the early birds back this morning.

DANAMO, we miss you!!!

Wish I was a teacher instead of a student going back to school! I'm already sick of studying and school doesn't start until the 29th.

LOLLY, safe travels to you as you head out this morning. Your trip is perfectly planned and sounds like so much fun!

SANDI, it's sprinkling here, too. Looks like an indoors day, as well, for me.

JUDYE, how is Jordyn doing now?
Such a good thing Angie wasn't in the car when it was hit! Have a great day at work.

JANET, what a lovely party! I love hotdogs, but sure the kids thought the presents and pool were the best part!

I emailed GLO last night and she replied, very nicely, that she checks in once in a while, but her photography business has really picked up and she's very busy. Said she'll be back to watch the eaglets next season.

LYNNE2, how was your bear hunting yesterday?

KAY, HODA, JO and JUDIE, what are you all doing today?

Hope everyone has a fabulous day. Gotta take RoRo outside. He's making all kinds of funny noises.

DanaMo said...

Thanks Lori! Good luck with your new semester at school!

I will try to frequent the blog more once I am in my regular routine again. I miss you all and your support.

Janet said...

Good Sunday morning to one and all!

Safe travels and have fun to those moseying about!

Take a deeep breath to all who are teaching and ready to return to the classroom.....we have been in school for just over 2 weeks here...

LORI: when I went back to school at age 43, it was terribly stressful to be in that situation again, exciting but stressful. I would take a tape player (with instructor's permission) to tape classes, come home, re read material, listen to the lecture, again....look at flash cards, whatever, for a couple hours a night to learn this stuff. I felt, being the 2nd oldest in class, that although I had dicipline, I also needed to work harder.

You can do this! Sometimes, I learned, it is okay to take a day off....let your brain and mind rest. You will absorb more. Take a few hours and go do something you love to do...just a little break. You can do it! I know you can!!!! We are all rooting for you!

Yeah! DanaMo popped back in!!

It is quiet. Everyone else is alseep. I will have coffee before I start the routine.

Didn't tell you what Tom found yesterday. sad. A dead hummingbird. It appears that it flew into his bus? Just the wobbly neck....no major other injuries. Olivia wishes to bury it. So that will be today

Although very sad, I say, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to actually touch a hummingbird....soooo tiny. I may have to keep one of its feathers....

Well, a little housework today....need to runa couple of errands...and having a couple over for dinner, our friend Russell and his gal pal/girl friend. So easy day.

Light, love, healing and smiles to all!

Lori O. said...

JANET, thank you for your wise words. It is stressful and I do think I will have to work harder. We've already been told to expect 2 1/2 hours of homework a night...and for me that's three hours at least. I guess being out of the school routine for so long doesn't help. I thank you for your support and wisdom. It really helps! I hope you and your family have a lovely day of rest. :) I'll try to get some, too.

Judie said...

Good morning!

Rainy this morning. Nothing particular on the schedule. Probably try to proof-read the syllabus and finish the book on traffiking.

I think a teachers pity party should be planned for Aug. 25th. Dana, Sandi, and I can all feel sorry that summer is over.

Speaking of party, Lolly, you are most welcome to use the idle threat of the Evil Jufie should you need to. You know you love every second of Camp Hawkwood. Safe travels.

Lori, think of school as your job. You go to the station (classes) and then home to research for the next day (study). My experience as a "mature" student and having taught "mature" students, you are already putting unnecessary pressure on yourself to excel. Please relax. Have a lovely day. Hugs for RoRo and Dalai. Hi to Kate.

Did watch the ostrich babe. Fascinating but frustrating. Want to help. Lun Lun is sharing a babe this morning.

Janet, glad the party was a success and hoping Lynne2 remembered to say "It's me bear."

So silly. Took my brain a second to figure out why Shirley isn't here. Duh!

That suggests I am in need to coffee and the morning news.

Have a good morning.

Judie said...

Lori, listen to Janet. The brain rebels when overloaded. I remember my very first exam. Made myself stay awake all night because I thought if I went to sleep I would forget everything. Just the opposite, of course. You may well find that your biggest frustration is with the immaturity of your classmates. They are real, they are motivated, they can be fun, but they are young.

Okay, off my soapbox!

Bye

Lori O. said...

Thank you, JUDIE! And a big hug!

paula eagleholic said...

Lots of good advice for Lori this morning. You will succeed because this is what you really want to do...you are older and have more determination and focus...and you are mature! It took me 14 years part time to get my degree(that was with 2 kids and a full time job)...school will fly by!

And yes...take some time for you as well!

paula eagleholic said...

Gray and rainy here...but any day at the beach is a good day!

Yes, Pipsqueak is out and breathing. Very unfortunate for those who participated that the chat was turned off due to some apparently unpleasant comments. Wishing the little chick a good life.

I see that Malcolm is blue and Penny is happy, Dana will soon have an almost empty nest, Hoda is, of course, being her usual lazy self, and Kay, Jo, Paula and Janet stopped by for a visit.

Well, Lori, here's one more bit of advice. When procrastination hits, go grossery shopping. If nothing else, your critters will be happy.

So, now to settle in and accept reality.

They also report a female visitor had to be arrested as she bit the bartender and refused to let go. She was sedated and taken to the cells he was taken to the hospital !!!
