Well, I finally got a big project done today that I have been putting off. I pulled out the camp stove, got an old pot, and cleaned and boiled my newer skulls in my collection! I now have a fox, skunk, turkey vulture, blue jay and frog. They been in quarantine but will soon be on display!

DMO, WOW is Windows on Wildlife. They have pages that focus on a lot of different cams and one of them is ours. I thought that's where I saw the video of the intruder's visit.

I warned him....the fishing calendar says it is NOT a good fishing day. Think it goes by the phases of the moon. Further more, they are fishing where they fish in winter. I pointed out that due to the unusual weather, they needed to go to the SPRING locations. No one listens to me....
I hope you all don't think I'm crazy, but before that picture of the eagles flying away, Shep was sitting on the rail and actually put his talon out towards the stranger bird. I do not see that particular video anywhere, but I know I am not imagining it. I am quite certain that it was Shep that chased the stranger away. I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but I try to be very careful and not say anything unless I feel very sure because so many people here know so much more than I do and have followed so much longer. I reviewed the video on the FB page and also on the WOW site, but neither of them show what happened prior to the eagles flying away. Unless I am missing the video on the WOW site, but I went through several.

My, oh my, I didnt' think I'd be away so long, but got a nice long call from #1 daughter, Eileen. All's well with the MI faction of the family. After that I watched the last bit of men's ice skating on NBC. Beautiful. So, I missed our birds again, but so glad I can catch up through the eyes and thoughts of you who were watching !
Happiness is hearing directly from WANDA and learning each day better and with less pain ! Hurray !
LORI, yes, I took Seth home after we stopped at Noodle's for a take home lunch to share. It was our usual great weekend.
Sandi, Seth is 17, but a young 17 who still loves spending Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings with his grandmother ! He's terrific !

I sure hope Adam gets a good grade as well Kay. He worked very hard and put many hours in, not like my other boys who wrote their term papers in one day when they had them to do junior and senior year. I also think the experience of working with the tutor will serve him well in the future. He should be able to write his next paper on his own with just someone to help clean it up and correct grammar. His tutor did the paper with him step by step and was worth every penny!
Doing a MARGY here. DANAMO, so glad tutoring was available for Adam. Several of my grandchildren, though good students, have benefited through tutoring. Everybody needs a little help on occasion. You're a wonderful, loving mom ! Latah !!!!

Taking me forever to catch up. Fell asleep here in my chair and could fall back asleep very easily. Jack is going to cook dinner tonight...going to have breakfast....an omelet, bacon, grits, and homemade bread toast.
Today we bought items for a new recipe tomorrow night. I love trying the new recipes when I have not spent the entire day in the yard. This is a good time of year for cooking! Bad on the figure though.
Little bird disappeared. He got more active and hopped into the bushes. Do not know if he flew away or not but can not find him. Annie is MAD because we will not let her out.

So I was digging around in the cupboard for the macaroni tonight....found a small brownie mix...yes I made them! Going to have hot fudge sundae brownies! I've been sooo good since I finished up the Christmas cookies!
Well when I went to the health food store today right infront of my eyes a big sign Engevita Yeast and Yeast Flakes on sale!!! Well I laughed and thought of JUDIE saying to eat yeast to help with my low iron...so guess what I bought? Enough yeast to last me a month I think but will see how fast I can find ways to include it in my meals...

As a rule we are all very accurate and very careful with our reporting. I posted those same pictures on the 24th and had felt confident in DANAMO'S reporting...We have to trust what we see and we all trust each other. I find when I catch a mistake I make on the blog I am always in a hurry to correct it because it is a question of not wanting to lose your trust...DANAMO WAS HERE FOR THE EVENT AND HER REPORTING WE ALL TRUST AND ACCEPT.

Thursday is an all-day special ed. meeting - the auditors who audited our files in Dec. didn't like the wording we use on our IEPs (same wording as last year). So, we have to go back and revise everything they didn't like. You can bet these auditors were NEVER special ed. teachers!! But before I go:

WANDA, one day at a time, girl!! When Brian (older son) was 16, he had to have the middle lobe of his right lung removed. I was paralyzed with fear during his surgery. When he woke up, I asked him about his pain level. He said, "Mom, the hard part was deciding to have the surgery. Now that I've had it, I don't have any choice but to get thru each day knowing that the next one won't be as bad as this one!"

That is great DanaMo. I know my daughter is having it rough with working 10 hour days M-F and sometimes she also gets called in to work Saturday. It is hard for her to find time to get her college assignments done. She is carrying 3 subjects this semester.
Plus she gets home arount 6pm leaves in morning at 3am to travel to work. I pray she can do it. So far she has 2-A's and 1-B.

Good Evening Eagle buds! Slept late today (I don't do leaving home 6 days a week!!Appts. on both days off!), been catching up on emails, searching internet, phone calls, etc. Working on pics.
SIL & daughter sent me dark piuc of a hawk to ID. Wasn't easy, but I chose red-shouldered. Jim took it w/phone & screen was a little smeary.(It soon hit me that they don't have bird book I gave her when they moved in house 11 years ago!!!Top secret---I ordered a Sibley). Anyway, to be sure, sent pics to Greg, Park expert, & I was right!
My Park bird pics were real far away, but I salvaged a couple--in Nook (just to keep the saga going!)

Maybe if this intruder is still around. Could it be possible Belle does not want to lay eggs while this intruder is there. Maybe some type of instinct has taken over Belle and she is holding off on the eggs. I guess anything is possible.

is awesome. The main purpose for the visit was for her daughter and her dad to celebrate their Jan birthdays.
Seems that the nest has been busy - had checked the still cam and don't see

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A long line of cars and trucks collided one after another early Sunday on I-75 in Alachua County. The Florida Highway Patrol says it happened around 4:00 a.m. in both the northbound and southbound lanes at mile marker 379.

Good evening my eagle budlets. Sorry I haven't checked in for a couple of days. I was heading to Charleston yesterday and my van broke down on the turnpike. Still not fixed but know what the problem is. More will be revealed tomorrow.
Nila update: Well, I have to say that God is in charge and doctors don't always know everything. She is still walking with assistance, sitting up in a chair for hours at a time, answering her own cell phone. Her pain is at a minimum and she is producing lots of urine again. :-)

She is doing okay. They have had her up. She is on antibiotics but not sure why. The antibiotics are causing GI problems but other than that, she is okay.
