I think the surgery can take about 8 hrs.

JudyEddy said...

Just on facebook
K,Robyn called and told me one of the doctors came down to let her know that everything is going good. They have the left lung in and are now doing the right lung. They are half way through and Tori is holding her own. Thanks be to God and her doctors...

Well its that time of day again Got to go to work I will be thinking of TORI and JOE at work today I will see you at lunch HAGD OTWIG and the sunset video is still uploading its only about 4 min long will have to post it when I get home at lunch

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Good morning again everybody.

I just have to tell you that it is hard for me to grasp all that is going on. Tori has been fighting for so long and Joe has been walking around with battery packs attached to him just so his heart would beat. Now they are both getting life-saving transplants. What are the chances of knowing 2 different people from 2 different areas of my life and both getting transplants at the same time??? Just unbelievable.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Tori has 1 lung in and 1 to go. She is holding her own, Bobbi said on Facebook!

Red said...

Good morning eagle people. Still have the over 200 posts problem and I'm headed out for breakfast.

See you in a bit.

Red said...

Wow!!!Tori is getting her transplant. Thank God for giving her another chance.

Hoda said...

Good morning...thank you for the news of Tori and also Joe. Amazing indeed SHARON that you know two who are having a Gift of Life surgery at the same time...God Bless them both.

LYNN you were up early, I hope you did get a few hours of sleep all the same. Have you had breakfast? Is transport taking you to the treatment today? ONE BEFORE LAST!!!YEAY!!!

hedgie said...

Thanks for posting the update.....I was just getting ready to check FB! Sounds excellent so far!!!

Hoda, just ate a waffle.....felt I needed the sugar from the syrup!
Yep, transport taking me, but Christie is picking me up and bringing me home---she will rotate my mattress for me! And she's picking up a few things I need from the store. I've got great daughters, don't I?

Bill is going to try to get the motor to the garage door opener off today and take it to the repair shop to see what they can do before buying a new one.

Hoda said...

THE BEST DAUGHTERS LYNN...They come by it honest look at who is their MOMA...Kind, genreous and thoughtful friend to all.
I will be looking forward to hearing your reports from today's experiences. Good on you for the waffle...

hedgie said...

Here's a slighly older post from Bobbi---about an hour ago: Tori didn't go into surgery until 5:30 this morning. They were waiting for the lungs to arrive....it is going to be a long morning as it could take anywhere from 6 to12 hours. Please keep all those prayers coming for a successful transplant. God bless the donor's family for giving Tori a chance at life. Bless you all...

wvgal_dana said...

Sorry I have not commented on here since I came in this morning. I have been praying. Then I went over to the candle lighting place where I have been lighting a candle for Lynn, Wanda, Tori and Nila. Today I had to pray differently due to the wonderful transplants that are taking place. I added Joe to my candle lighting. May God Be The Director In Tori's Surgery and in Joe's Surgery. They both have been given a chance for a new life. Tori being younger has waited and Robyn has done everything for her young daughter that a Mother could possibly do. Now God Is Blessing Tori and Robyn and family. With these Lungs. God allow Tori's body to accept these lungs and bring her to a fully recovery. Father allowing her to be the young girl that can breath freely on her own, run and not be weary, sing and not get tired, laugh and not have to fight for air. Thank You Lord God for giving her this new life. I pray for the Donors family. They have had a loss so Tori can have a new life. Be with the Donors Family also and bring PEACE to them. Lord in Joe's heart transplant be the Director in this surgery also. Guiding his body to accept the new heart. Bringing Joe to a Full Recovery. Allowing him to live the rest of his life. Be with Joes's family allow this to have a change in Chris his son and be with his grandchildren giving them comfort at this time. Father a family here has lost someone. Whether this heart and lungs came from the same person we may never know. For Joe's heart bring PEACE to the Donors family from their lost. We are just amazed God at all YOUR workings and these two surgeries.
We know YOU LORD are helping Lynn we ask you to STOP THIS NAUSA AND SICKNESS SHE HAS with taking the pills and treatments. WE THANK YOU FOR BRINGING LYNN TO FULL RECOVERY. Another one LORD GOD that we have PRAYED TO YOU FOR is Wanda she had the knee replacement. WE PRAISE YOUR NAME FOR HOW WELL SHE IS DOING. THANK YOU FATHER FOR BRINGING WANDA TO FULL RECOVERY. PRAISING YOUR HOLY NAME FATHER in these people. ONLY YOU COULD HAVE MADE THIS HAPPEN. INCLUDING THE 2 SURGERIES FOR HEART FOR JOE AND LUNGS FOR TORI. WE LOVE YOU AND GLAD WE ARE YOUR CHILDREN. THANK YOU FATHER GOD-LORD OF ALL LORDS. ONE WHO LOVES HIS CHILDREN. I AM SO GLAD TO KNOW YOU AND HAVE YOU LIVE WITHIN ME. THANK YOU PRAISES AND GLORY BE TO YOU FATHER GOD. THE GREAT HEALER LORD THAT YOU ARE. Amen

Sharon, thanks for the update on Joe, please keep us posted when you know more.

I told Nefe, the woman who received Taitlyn's liver, about Tori and Joe. She is thrilled!

paula eagleholic said...

Both working in the bowl now, some small beaking over fluff and sticks

hedgie said...

Wishing I had time for a nap! Y-a-w-n!

Linda said...

If Bobbie said the surgery could take 6-12 hours and Tori went in at 5:30, it sounds like they finished her up in 4 hours!! Hope that is a good sign.

Praying for her body to heal and accept this new gift of life. I don't know the process of recovery from such a major transplant, but I pray Tori continues to remain healthy and strong so she can BREATHE on her own very soon!!!

Thank you for the update on Joe, Sharon. Keeping him in prayer as they work to place a new working heart in his body!

What a day of thanksgiving......

Good Morning on this terrific Tues.
The news concerning Tori is enough to make all of us Shout for Joy!

I have been over on FB so I can get
Robyn and Bobbi's comments. I wonder
when they will collapse with relief!

Sharon I pray Joe's new heart replacement also goes well. Let us know.

Kristen is here - so I will see you later.

Hoda said...

Thanks for the update on JOE SHARON. PRAYERS.

I am off to the dentist and depending how long that takes maybe go to yoga from there...I am actually dreading a root canal because LINDA suggested it and yet do not know if I need one...I will wait on the dentist...talk to you all later.

Good luck LYNN one more to go after today!!! YEAY!!!

See you all later...

Good morning! Fantastic news on Tori. Hope everything continues to go well.

Lynn, glad you ate a little breakfast. We have a new rule on here.....No loosing of meals! (Polite way of saying it!)

Belle is looking quite cozy in the nest. Saw her rearranging the flugg around her. That looks quite promising. Shep just flew in. I think we are getting very close to action!!!! Eggciting!

CarolAnne said...

Hey Jim, my part of Wisconsin is going to be almost that warm today. 10 am and its already 46°, going up into the 50's this afternoon. Last year we were on the doorstop of a 15" blizzard. Weird weather!!

Hope eye(s) are doing good.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Well it looks like our Belle is settled into the egg cup! How promising does that look! YAY!

hedgie said...

Sorry to say, Lolly---I broke that rule. :(

It's 57° here now!

I'm going to go ahead and log off. Almost ready to go, but feeling rough. Think I need to stretch out a little on the sofa for a few minutes.

See you all later this afternoon---probably after Christie leaves.

PRAYERS CONTINUE!!

CarolAnne said...

Maybe thats why she was so ravenous this a.m. Knew she had some work (egg laying) ahead of her and would be stuck in the nest for awhile.
