What a wonderful way to wrap up a long day - eagles in the nest!

Hello Hoda!

Lori O. said...

At least the nest won't freeze tonight. It's supposed to be 34.

hedgie said...

And back again, I see!

DanaMo said...

Just got home and I see we have a visitor.

Lori O. said...

Did you see that upper left corner fly by?

Hoda said...

DID YOU SEE THE MOVEMENT ABOVE BELLE'S HEAD, CLOSER TO THE BRANCH? DID SHEP LAND THERE?

Hoda said...

YES I SEE WING FEATHERS AND AS HE MOVES HE BECOMES PART OF THE PICTURE FRAME

Lori O. said...

Need to go back and read the last page of posts...bbialw

NatureNut said...

Saw a wingtip~~Shep must have landed right above her.

hedgie said...

Still as statues now!

hedgie said...

Cubbie noises are getting irritating!!!!!! Vol. DOWN!

Hoda said...

Welcome DANAMO and LORI I am glad you had good days and are now back...they ahave been here forever it seems...some HP and some vocalizing and lots of hanging out.

Hoda said...

BELLE'S HEAD MOVEMENT TELLS ME SHE IS SERIOUSLY TRACKING SOMEHTING OUT THERE...

hedgie said...

Judie.....if the pay is meager....what's the point?? YOU are worth your weight in gold!! Tell them they can get nybody for that amount, but to get the best (YOU), they've gotta up the ante!!

Hoda said...

BELLE MOVES TO NINE POSITION AND POOFS

stronghunter said...

Would be interesting to see if Judie could negotiate a better rate of pay.

Adjunct pay is usually not great, but maybe she cam pull off something good.

Love it when I spend hours writing a syllabus and then they call and say that they have to assign the class to a full-time prof whose class did not fill.

You get zero dollars when that happens.

I kind of enjoyed hearing that several of my students dropped the class the last time they did that to me.

Sandi said...

Not one minute to check in during the school day and home to see a new thread! Got the cam up just in time to see Belle take off. I've read back through today's posts and it seems that our eagles have been in the nest quite a bit. I'll take that as a good sign. OK, gotta make dog food - will take the laptop into the kitchen while I work in case the eagles return.

Mema Jo said...

I had wondered today where all the teachers had gone. Good to have you here

Dinner is ready and then at 6:30 is
our party

BBL

stronghunter said...

Well great, I refreshed the cam and now I have lost it.

stronghunter said...

Managed to get it back, thank goodness.

DanaMo said...

Busy day for me too. With he 2 hour delay I get behind schedule. The day flew by. Plus I had a student "shadow" with us today. Cute little girl, of course they are all cute. I guess she is at public school now and thinking about coming next year, although when they picked her up I asked if it was for this year or next and the dad said they were going to talk about it. I would like to have her this year, and it would make the transition to first grade easier for her. Her handwriting isn't up to my standards, I don't think public schools here focus as much on writing technique as we do. They liked our smaller class size and the fact that I have a full time assistant. Enrollment is looking good for next year.
We have Catholic Schools Week next week which will give us a really good idea on what enrollment will be like, we just had reregistration for current students.

Lolly said...

Oh, Dana, glad to hear you work on handwriting. I did, thought it important. I get so frustrated with Joseph and Jacob's handwriting. It is awful! The teachers just do not work on it. I had great success with my kiddos, they can write neatly if taught!!!

stronghunter said...

Glad to see that someone is working on handwriting, DanaMo. I really wish that cursive writing would still be taught. Have fussed about this before, but kids come to high school unable to read cursive writing and expecting the teacher to accommodate them.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Andrew won the penmanship award in elementary school. :)

stronghunter said...

Had a kid once who would have a friend copy my cursive notes from the board in printed letters so he could read it.

Lots of others would just say that they could not read that writing. At first, I was confused because I thought they were saying my penmanship was poor, but that was not the problem.

Lolly said...

Yea, for Andrew, Sharon. Not true for my lawyer son and school teacher daughter. LOL

stronghunter said...

Hunter does not use cursive, but I a sure he would if his teachers made him do it.

His printing is awful. No space between words.

I was pleased to see that his teacher corrected his spelling in his agenda the other day. He will do what is expected and no more, so if he is expected to spell correctly, he will. If he is expected to use neat cursive, he will.

stronghunter said...

I did get a kick out of a ninth-grader who was leaving a huge space between each word on his papers. I told him that he was leaving too much space, and he said that he was leaving a finger's width the way he had been taught.

Oh my.

His fingers had grown since first grade. I told him that he did not need to do that anymore.

I know I have told this before, but it still amuses me.

I was thinking that he was just trying to make it look like he had written more than he really had, but I really don't think he would make up that excuse.

DanaMo said...

We still teach cursive at St. Mary's. We feel it is important, and besides, how do you "sign" your name if you don't write cursive.
Good on Andrew for winning an award for penmanship!
Our 2nd grade teacher was interviewed and filmed this year for teaching cursive writing. Apparently a big piece was done about whether or not it should still be taught. I will try to post the link.

paula eagleholic said...

What, they don't teach cursive handwriting anymore? I think it's quicker to write in cursive vs printing.

DanaMo said...

cursive handwriting

DanaMo said...

I think it's faster too, but my kids all print. I don't know how they can take notes quickly when they are printing.

In our area cursive is still taught, but not everywhere.

DanaMo said...

"my kids" meaning Hilmoe children! ☺

Lolly said...

Laurel has had the same problem, Shirley, but her cursive is not so great. Her printing though is great!

Lolly said...

Jacob does great with spaces between his words and he does not use his finger. LOL But, when I see how he makes his letters, I want to scream!

Sandi said...

I was sound asleep last night when you ladies were discussing Steven Tyler's rendition of the National Anthem so, at the risk of beating a dead horse, here's my comment. I love Aerosmith and I love Steven Tyler! I wouldn't want him dating my daughter if I had one, but I think he's a charismatic and entertaining performer. That said, he is the lead singer of a hard rock band for gosh sake! And, he's been using that singing voice of his to belt out loud music for over 40 years! When I heard his name announced to sing the Anthem, I said out loud to Denny, "You have GOT to be kidding!!!" IMO, whoever tapped him to sing the song should have his/her head examined!! But, whoever the idiot was who picked him knew EXACTLY what the crowd was going to get b/c Steven Tyler's gravelly, "scream through the high notes" voice is his trademark. He sang The Star Spangled Banner the same way he sings Love in an Elevator or Dude Looks Like a Lady. You may have hated it - and I didn't like it either - but it sounded exactly the way I knew it would b/c Steven Tyler can only sing one way! OK, stick a fork in me, I'm done! Oh yeah, and I'm not offended by anything that anyone else said - just adding my 2 cents, late as it is!

stronghunter said...

My experience is that they teach it, but then it is not required afterwards, so many kids just don't do it.

By the time I got them in high school, it was a bit late. It should have been done earlier.

Lolly said...

My daddy had beautiful handwriting. His cursive was very fancy. I always was fascinated with how he wrote his signature. His name began with an O. His pen would go round and round in the air before he made that O. LOL His signature was beautiful!

stronghunter said...

Sandi, you said the very same thing the ladies on The View said this morning.

stronghunter said...

I have an old photo album my mother kept in college. It is full of interesting pictures and notes from her and her friends. The handwriting is beautiful. It looks like a handwriting textbook.

stronghunter said...

Way past feeding time here. Animals are telling me about it. I am 32 minutes late.

paula eagleholic said...

I agree Sandi, Steven Tyler sounded just like Steven Tyler! It's just the way he sings....don't know what everyone was expecting!

Lolly said...

LOL Sandi! We love your opinion. That is what life is all about, having different opinions and NOT being offended by opinions that differ from your own. Glad you spoke up....and will not stick a fork in you!☺

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Sandi - I totally agree.

Lolly said...

We still have many of daddy's elementary handwriting tablets. They really worked on handwriting. Then we did too!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

EAGLE!

Hoda said...

I am still in lurking mode...just had to come and check the blog and see what you all are talking abut. Penmanship is important I agree...
SANDI I enjoyed reading your perceptions on Steve Tyler...whoever tapped him to sing the NATIONAL ANTHEM needs their brain examined!!!I am also upset that instead of Hail he said Ail...

On to do more chores

EAGLE

Lolly said...

I see Belle in the nest!

Hoda said...

DIGGING IN THE CUP AND BACK TO CAMERA TURNS AROUND...I THINK IT IS BELLE

paula eagleholic said...

Oh good, lots of visits today. Activity picks up closer to egg laying...seems the couple of days right before they are huridly adding more sticks and lots and lots of fluff.

Judie...meager pay? Online classes?? I'd have to think twice.

Hoda said...

NIGHT LIGHT ON SO IT IS IN BLACK AND WHITE...HARD TO TELL

paula eagleholic said...

The still cam is really crappy! I just don't have the live feed running all the time here at work.

Hoda said...

WATCHINGGGG WHAT IS OUTSIDE THE NEST AND POOFS

Lolly said...

Poof!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

The still cam really sucks! That was Belle and she is gone now!

Hoda said...

PAULA I think I have preconceived ideas as to how your anthem sounds like and I find it uplifiting and when the rendition does not come through to stir the sentiments in regards the greatness of it as a symbol I feel let down...I knew your anthem when I was five years old in Egypt and I learnt the words before I learnt God Save the Queen...or even the Egyptian Royal anthem

I can't believe I missed the encore visit. I had to go get Adam from his tutoring session. Only a week until the paper is due! He has about 5 pages completed and needs 5 more. I hope he can crank it out!

Sandi, I thought the same thing. He sang the Anthem like a rock star!

Sandi said...

At the risk of being labeled a real dissenter, here's my opinion about handwriting. As an 8th grade teacher, obviously no handwriting is being taught on our hallway. But even when I was a 5th grade teacher (I moved to middle school 15 years ago), although I taught correct handwriting, I didn't make a big deal of it, didn't care if my students used cursive or print to do their work, and, when I was teaching spelling, students HAD to print. Close your eyes and picture the word "horse." I bet most of you pictured it in print, not in cursive. Most of us visualize words in print b/c that's how we see them in books. So I required that my kids print their spelling words on their spelling classwork, homework, and Friday spelling test.

In reality, the only thing that kids HAVE to be able to write in cursive is their signature. Otherwise, as long as they can do one or the other legibly, I say, "What difference does it make?" Kids will soon be bringing their lap tops and/or tablets to school for taking notes - some already are! They'll do their homework, except for math, on a computer. Cursive handwriting is only going to become less and less important as time goes on.

I DO sympathize with secondary teachers who write in cursive on the board and their students can't read it. As a special ed. teacher, I have had to ask teachers to print b/c my students can't read their cursive writing and I know some of them do it very grudgingly.

CarolAnne said...

Evening all,

WOW Red, you are a man of many talents. Impressive.

Big HUG as surgery day approaches on Wednesday.

Round of applause for Lynn as she counts down to last six sessions.

Sad day in the northwoods. This morning they have started to "clear cut" the woods across from our cottage. It is done in winter when understory (brush) is not in the way. Feel very bad for the tiny animals & birds that are suddenly without homes in the middle of winter. :o(

Hoda said...

SANDI The telling thing is SPECIAL ED program you are working with. It DOES make a difference if they can not write...somehow writing indicates a person is educated and printing not so much so...in high school I had kids who printed so poorly like a grade one level because they came from BC schools where they did not teach them penmanship and thought printing was out the door because of computers. I insisted they write and they improved...JMHO

CarolAnne said...

CLARIFICATIONB; Big HUG for those with surgery on Wed.

Opinion ??: Do students take a test to show what they know of the material taught? If so, then do they get to retake the test (after more studying/teaching)to improve their grade and therefore their knowledge of subject? Or do you think it should be a one test try?

Just curious!

wvgal_dana said...

I am taking a break. Yes I am still working on the papers for the medicine. grrr What a headache!! grrrrr again

I agree Sandi, Paula and Sharon. Steven Tyler is a Rock Star and that is what he sings. People selecting those to sing our Anthem should be more selective. I have heard others sing it that drives me crazy.

JudyEddy said...

OK down to 80 to read now gonna watch the news

DanaMo said...

JudyE you are too funny!!

Lolly said...

On the news...comparison of the two presentations of the Natl Anthem yesterday. Wow, the pressure is on for Kelly Clarkson. Wish I could talk to her and just advise her to just sing it the way it is supposed to be song...do not try to embellish it.

Hoda said...

Curious question CAROLANNE. In our school we had some courses that were open ended and the student could take the test as many times as they needed to pass the course...in classes where there was sequential teaching this was an advantage...you do not move to the next unit till you got this one...then a superintendent set the passing grade for these courses to a hundred and it scared many of them off...the argument was if you were a plane pilot and scored 85 percent on a test one would wonder which 15 percent the pilot did not know...seems like take off and landing would be essential and keeping it up in the air would also qualify as essential so a hundred percent was needed...now they leave it up to the teacher to set the paqssing grade for his or her course so long as it is not lower than 70 percent...this is not true of courses where the kids have to take government exams as the time of their aqdministration is set and the schedule requirements come into play...so elective courses kids got as many chances as they needed and required courses they did not...
I hope this is not too confusing. The school of which I speak is in Alberta.SImilar in BC I gather.

CarolAnne said...

Thanks for your input HODA.
It is not something I had thought about one way or the other until I read a recent article about it.

Lolly said...

Just decided to have steaks and baked potatoes for dinner tonight. Oh, no! We will have to have wine with that meal....oh, dreadful thought! LOL

Sandi said...

CAROLANNE, Teachers rely on formative assessments all the time to gauge whether or not kids are kids are getting the concept(s) and to learn what skills need to be retaught, ie. quizzes, classwork, homework, thumbs up/thumbs down, class discussion. Summative assessment is "Show what ya know." One shot. No do-overs.

Red said...

My surgery will be on Wednesday, but it will be Wednesday Feb 15th. Met a man this morning who had both hips replaced. He was so glad he had it done. Guess I will be too.

CarolAnne said...

Another thing I was not aware of or had thought through: In Wisconsin there is a recall going on to recall our governor. It has been stated that the recall signatures should be public record. I had thought "Why not, if you believe strongly in the issue why not have the signatures be public". The opposition to this states that employers could retaliate if they don't agree, people could track down ex's etc. that don't want their location known, future employers could check if you have the same opinion as them etc.

Hmmmm . . . .

JudyEddy said...

SANDI no offense about Steve T

I think Savannah has 2 eggs now.

hedgie said...

CarolAnne, I hurt with you. I've been dealing with that behind me for a year. Sickening........it has ruined not only my view, but now I hear highway noise I rarely heard before, and there is practically no wind break left. So very sad. The whole thing is bad enough to begin with, but they leave all the treetops scattered all over the place.....it REALLY showed when the snow was on the ground. I'll see if I can get a pic of it tomorrow.

paula eagleholic said...

Lolly, who sang the anthem in the 2nd game?

hedgie said...

I'm not going to argue with you professional teachers, but just state my personal opinion that cursive handwriting SHOULD be a mandatory part of elementary education.

DanaMo said...

Yes, you won't convince me that there isn't a need to learn cursive. I am an old fashion Catholic school teacher. I think it's important. Even though they will use computers, it's still a skill they should have.
Maybe to me it's like saying they never need to learn to tie their shoes because you could always wear slip-ons and velcro...Handwriting, coloring, all fine motor development and I think they need to do it well and neatly. I expect my kids to do their best at all times and to take pride in their work.
But that is the beauty here, we can disagree without hurting anyone's feelings.

DanaMo said...

And I'm a lefty too Lynn!

Lolly said...

Hoda, with what did you stuff the salmon? curious! Love salmon, will be there shortly. LOL
Do not have to line up airline tickets...will just drive FAST to your house. ☺

paula eagleholic said...

Anyone posting videos on youtube, watch out for scam emails!

Red said...

I agree that cursive handwriting should be taught. But I'm afraid in a few more years no one will know how to communicate by hand. Computers will become everyone's handwriting. So Sad!!!

Hoda said...

LOLLY do you personally know the lady who is going to sing the National Anthem for the Super Bowl? A young girl from TEXAS?Its Mass ashusets Patriots playing the New York Giants, clap clap clap, all the teaching has paid off!!! LOL!!! I know who is playing!!! Now WHERE Is it being played?

Sandi said...

Paula, Kristin Chenoweth sand the other National Anthem - NAILED it!!

DanaMo said...

Well I think I fall asleep every evening "watching" Wheel of Fortune so I better get over to the couch, I wouldn't want to mess up my schedule. LOL!

Lolly said...

Did not know her, Paula. Can not remember her name, but a Broadway singer. I will try to find it. She did a beautiful job!

Lolly said...

It was Kristin Chenoweth whoi sang at the Giants/San Fran game.

Lolly said...

No, Hoda, I do not personally know Kelly Clarkson but she is from our small town. Her mother was a teacher in the same district I taught. She was the first winner of American Idol. She has a powerful voice but sometimes she can do something I do not like.

Lolly said...

Soaking rain headed our way! Habby dance, habby dance!!!!

Hoda said...

Lolly I stuffed it with cashews, walnuts, olive oil, feta cheese, and lime. I used some rosemary...

Hoda said...

Habby dance for LOLLY!!! RAIN IN TEXAS YEAY!!!

hedgie said...

Paula, Kristen Chenowith. They said she did beautifully!
I think they are all at a bit of a disadvantage having to sing it acapella. They should have back-up, and then many who do so poorly would sound better!

paula eagleholic said...

Ha Ha, today is Happy National Handwriting Day!

paula eagleholic said...

I'm sure Kelly will do a great job! What it is you don't like that she does, Lolly?

hedgie said...

My final comment on the cursive issue: almost every document that needs to be signed has a line where you PRINT your name and then a line to SIGN your name.
On electronic signatures for documents online, you choose a cursive style for your signature.

Time for Jeopardy. BBL.

paula eagleholic said...

Heading out for awhile, catch ya later.

stronghunter said...

I am more concerned about people being able to read cursive writing. So many things are written that way. Anyone who can'd read it is going to have a serious problem getting along.

Hoda said...

LOLLY I am on the look out for your arrival. Tell Jack to drive carefully through the high passes...Wouldn't it be grand if you all would come and visit me in BC???

Okay, Hoda, the salmon sounds heavenly. Be right there! I rubbed our steaks with rosemary, garlic, pepper, salt and olive oil. Yum!

Good evening my fine eagle budlets! Just wanted to give a little update on Nila. They are starting her with Hospice. I didn't get the full details but I know someone had mentioned a nursing home but no one was in agreement of that for which I am glad. Her daugher, Nikki, however, said something about taking her home with her and taking care of her. She lives in Gary, Indiana. I cannot see how that could be possible. Hopefully her sisters will take care of her here. Her sister, Sharon, and I are afraid that she might have metastasis to her brain as she is getting more confused and her hands have started this jerking movement quite a bit but who knows. She is in no pain and only has a fentanyl patch on that is the weakest one they make. God is so good! She wanted me to thank everyone for your prayers. I asked her how she was and she said "I'm doing pretty good". What a trooper she is.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I uploaded a picture of Nila that I took Thanksgiving before last so she would have a picture on Facebook. It is on my wildlife blog. Just wanted you to be able to picture who you are praying for! :)

stronghunter said...

Hunter got very interested in Winter and was fascinated to see her on the wecam.

Beautiful picture of Nila, Sharon.

hedgie said...

Feeling really funky right now. Heading for the tub to see if that helps.

Shar, Nila is a pretty lady. Prayers continue. I hope she doesn't suffer. Love you for being SO supportive to her and her family. So many people run away from end-of-life scenarios.....good on you!

Hunter's words tend to run together. It can make you crazy.

thanks to you and to Mits also

Sounds like fun, Jo, the party...
2 hours and another 41 mins left of the Birthday DAY for Ed

magpie said...

Know what your mean, Shirley.
I do enjoy watching James make the letters though....he's not doing much if any cursive, not sure what his school's position is on that.
He's slowly getting, better at printing

Put some more wood on the fire, then noticed a spark jump out of the fireplace. Sure enough, when I checked, there was an ember burning its way into the dog bed. Put it out with some of my iced tea.

Closed up the fireplace and moved the dog bed. (No dog on that one, thank goodness.) Glad I saw what happened.

stronghunter said...

Reminds me of the time we used coffee to put out a trash can fire in the teacher's office one day after school when most people were gone. (NOT at Culpeper.)

This was back when teachers were allowed to smoke in their workspace. We had a colleague who liked to shake off her ashes into the trash can. A very nice person, but. . . I cringe to think what could have happened.

magpie said...

Too scary Shirley....
whew...
so glad it's okay, go get some more iced tea now

magpie said...

Going to say my Good Nights early...
and hitting the sack soon here

Hope you feel better Lynn....
right now!

always interesting to read everyone's posts...sure learn a lot here

Prayers for Wellness....

Margy....apparently Jenn was more scraped than bruised. You know kids don't wear heavy outerwear!! Probably just a hoodie. She's okay. Thanks for asking.

Feel a little better. Hope it continues. Some days are just worse than others in the nausea arena....and today has been a bad one.

Now Liesl is calling for her pre-bed laptime. BBIALW.

stronghunter said...

So sorry it has been a bad day, Lynn. I really hope that tomorrow is better.

This is too funny!!!I got it from a Scotsman and he is laughing!!!

In anticipation of Robbie Burns Day

An Arab Sheik was admitted to St Vincents Hospital for heart surgery, but prior
to the surgery, the doctors needed to store his blood in case it was found to
be required during the procedure. As the gentleman had a rare type of blood, it
couldn't be found locally, so, the call went out to other hospitals.
Finally a Scot was located who had a similar blood type. The Scot willingly
donated his blood for the Arab. After the surgery, the Arab sent the Scotsman
as appreciation for giving his blood, a new BMW, diamonds & US dollars.
A couple of days later the sheik had to go through a corrective surgery. His
doctor telephoned the Scotsman who was more than happy to donate his blood again.
After the second surgery, the sheik sent the Scotsman a thank-you card & a jar
of candies.
The Scotsman was shocked that the sheik this time did not reciprocate his
gesture as he had anticipated. He phoned the sheik and asked him: "I thought
you would be generous again, that you would give me a BMW, diamonds & money...
but you only gave me a thank-you card & a jar of candies".
To this the Arab replied: "Aye, but I now have Scottish blood in me veins".__

Yoga class was really good. I have not read back so I will go and do so...I hope is are well.Is LYNN not feeling well??? OH NO!!! I read SHIRLEY'S comment wishing that tomorrow will be better...I will go back and read the blog first...Sorry LYNN is not feeling well though :( !!

hedgie said...

Hoda, love that story! I am LOL!
Need to send it to my genealogy pal cousin!!!

Looks like the fog is lifting here. Sure was SOUP earlier.

Hoda said...

LYNN I saw your entry about your maternal Grand parents from Baffshire Scotland...Ontario is also farm land, and they moved to IOWA probably because the growing season is longer?

I hope they would have seen the humour in the joke my Sotsman friend shared with me!!!LOL

SHIRLEY this is very scary about the amber...there was a fire in COnnecticut where three little girls perished because they took the ashes out of the chimney so Sanata would not be hurt...was so tragic. So glad you caught it...THANK GOD.

SHARON, NILA is BEAUTIFUL...what an awesome smile and so much love in her eyes...God keep her from suffering and I have a lot of respect for you for being there for her...you have a big heart SHARON.

In yoga I found I do not keep my balance as well when it is dark out...we did three balancing poses with a movement flow in between them and I can do them in day time and was wabboly at night time...good learning for me...I stayed with it and got it somehow, yet did not feel too secure.

Hoda said...

From my reading I understand you are feeling better after your bath LYNN and that the stomach is more settled. Have you eaten today? Have you kept your food?We spoke of waffles and French toast earlier today and you put syrup in each of the waffle squares...did you keep that in your system? I hope so...

Lolly said...

Finished...yet another tray of slides!

Sharon, tell your friends to try for a private room in a nursing home. When Mother went under hospice care that is what we did. We did not live down there so we could not keep her, brother Larry did not have the space, her home at retirement living was not appropriate and she needed nursing care. We did not know how long it would be...ended up being approx 3 weeks. She never knew she was in a nursing home. We stayed with her round the clock and hospice came in once a day. They were wonderful as were the nurses at the nursing home.

Beautiful undersea adventure

hedgie said...

Yes, Hoda, it's been what we call "inactive nausea." And I have eaten three small meals! It seems to come on in waves! Think I am going to have a peppermint ice cream sandwich now. Wish me luck!

hedgie said...

I can see where the darkness would disorient your balance a bit, Hoda, if you have windows inb the room.

Not a fan of the TV show, Alcatraz.

Fundraising for Tori Please do whatever you can!!!!!!

Hoda said...

yes there are windows in the room LYNN when I do yoga...I was a bit concerned but not overly so...I like to be a bit more steady on my legs as a general rule...but I managed and it was only for the three set of poses where we were moving on one leg...
Yum the pepermint ice cream sandwich sounds delicious...I hope it goes down well and stays down too...ENJOY it...Now I am hungry and wished I had one!!! LOL!!! I hear food and I want to eat!!!

I often think about the fact that the fireplace is at the bottom of the only staircase from the upstairs. I have told Hunter that if we should ever have a fire and the stairs are blocked, he should go out the front window onto the front porch roof.

Hoda said...

GOD KEEP YOU ALL SAFE SHIRLEY...good discussion with HUNTER...

Hoda said...

We have a snow fall warning in effect...I do not see how it would be high accumulations as it was relativley clear when I came in tonight...maybe it will change over night.

hedgie said...

Shirley, mybe you should get those collapsible ladders that you hang out an upstairs window. Better safe than sorry!

I/C sandwich was delicious! First of the peppermint I've eaten. Too bad it's seasonal.....when this box is gone, I'll have to wait til Christmas time again to get more!

Heading for bed. Thanks for your loving concern! A week from tomorrow it will all be over!!! I can do it....I can do it!!!!

Love you all. Prayers for many, but especially for Tori, Nila and Fred. Peace.

stronghunter said...

Really wanted to stay up until the fire died down a bit, and it has.

Not the first burned spot we have found on dog beds. We need to be more careful.

Thanks for the Tori link, Lynn.

Enjoy your Yoga carefuly, Hoda.

Hope that you truly get a soaking, life-giving rain, Lolly.

May your tomorrow be much better, Lynn.

Best wishes as you prepare for surgery, Wanda. Wednesday, I believe.

Even if you are not interested in the job, Judie, it is nice to have people show an interest in your talents. Enjoy it for what it is worth.

Very sleepy. Will go upstairs now.

Hoda said...

YES LYNN You can do it...we are all very proud of you and it is amazing how you managed it all...six more treatments please GOD bring complete healing for LYNN.

came awake about something, and something's weird about the blog for me, home page says 388 comments but I can only get to the first 200, no "newer comments" option so this is a test message to see where it goes

magpie said...

well it ended up in sequence and the rest of the comments came back, maybe I was in a dream

What a buy day here yesterday! I'm very happy I got through reading all about waffles without having one! No syrup for me Lynn, it's butter and Heinz Ketchup! I know, we've been through this before, you all think it sounds gross.

Lori O. said...

Hi Margy! I had no problem finding you...but I did on Sunday when the same weird thing happened to me! That's so odd.

Prayers for Nila and thank you for posting her picture, Sharon. So nice to put a face to a name.

Lolly, hope you get lots of rain... and HODA hope you only get a little snow!

Lori O. said...

Hello DIANN! Didn't see you there!

Time to get ready for work. I have to drop Kate off at a friends to borrow a car since Kate's car wouldn't start and was towed last night.

I've also taken on two new projects at work - less people more work thing - so I like to get more done in the morning when I get in so I don't have to stay so late.

Have a great day all! Prayers for Lynn for a quick and healing treatment today and no transport problems. ♥

PA Nana said...

Hey Lori, Margy and /// anyone else still up or getting up?>

PA Nana said...

Didn't see how late it's getting. My bad!! Just had to figure out the blog and catch up.

So many discussions that I couldn't join in. So, here's my HO - Steven Tyler sang the national anthem like the rock star he is, Kristen Chenoweth sang it beautifully. Hoping Kelly Clarkson sings it like it's meant to be.

I'm in favor of cursive writing. It's so much easier and faster though being left-handed mine is not as neat as rightees. 2 of our sons do a lot of printing and they are very neat about it but they also learned to sign their names in cursive.

PA Nana said...

Goodnight Margy. Nice to talk to you. I'll be sending you an email soon.

Guess I better head to the chair. Have a hamper full of dirty clothes that need to be done tomorrow if my back with allow.

God bless everyone.
