What a long day, it seems to me. Visited GG, pulled up dead flower plants in her back garden, replanted marigold seeds...they will somehow, survive the winter and about 50% will grow and bloom. ...Went to Hagerstown, came home and washed a load of clothes and put up a little bit of green "piney" garland on my new porch/red bows. Hope the wind doesn't blow it to parts unknown like Ceil's :)
Bathed and then watched THE HANGOVER...So funny. Anxious to see HANGOVER PART II.

Yes, DMo -- From where I am I'll be able to see it at 6:17 - 6:20 in the WNW sky...you should be approx the same time... it's a good morning to see it to, very bright today.
So at 6:17 I should be able to see something?

it is alike an airplane with no blinking lights, this morning in our area, it will "rise" - i.e. start flying across the sky, at around 6:17 - 6:20 - today, from the WNW - and it will fly ENE -
so if you can orient yourself to that direction...it will just "appear" when it gets enough glow from the sun...
sometimes it's kind of herky-jerky in its flight...
but it looks like an airplane, with no blinking lights...
go try to find your dirctionals if you can....
it should sail across the sky pretty high up....

Well now I have to figure out WNW geez...
Look in the WNW sky and you'll see it come up over the horizon...yes, you'll see lights, some red lights...and it's bigger than anything else moving. You'll recognize it.

I'm at my cousin's beach condo, first floor right on the beach and the sites and sounds of the ocean are so relaxing. They went back to their house yesterday and told me to stay here as long as I want.

It rained all night and is still raining. This rain event is so wonderful. It will certainly help but not end the drought. Have not gone to get the paper yet, waiting for Jack to get it and he is still sleeping!!!

Mom was still very anxious and shaking last night. Didn't get her psych consult Friday night, but I was told she would be seen last night.
She is still not able to move her arms, legs, hands or even keep herself upright once we sit her up without some help. It is very sad.
They are still trying to get the right balance of meds to keep her from being so anxious. It is hard when she is now under the care of doctors that weren't her regular doctors. The only doctor that remained with her at this hospital is her pulmonologist. She is still at a high risk for those problems as well as pulmonary hypertension.
It is difficult for them to do physical therapy because her blood pressure and heart rate get too high when she gets anxious. When they get enough meds in her to calm her down, she falls asleep.
It is not a good situation. She is also not willing to eat. She says she doesn't like the food, but she has even backed away from the things she usually will eat, like applesauce, pudding, shakes, etc.
So we just don't know what to expect.....

Good blow by blow on our eagle visit this morning. The wind is blowing and gusting big time at the nest right now. Come on Belle and Shep, why not seek the shelter of your nest with it's ever growing crib "walls".
Household hint: Noticed how dirty the glass panel on the oven door was as the biscuits were baking today. Got on line and found easy remedy is a baking soda and water paste--the consistency of pancake batter. I spread it on the glass with fingers and let it set for 20 minutes, then rinsed. Voila`, I have a clean oven door.

Back from my walk on the beach. Tried to take a picture of a whole bunch of pelicans, but couldn't figure out how to get my camera to flip from "towards me" to "towards them." Obviously I haven't used the phone camera much! LOL
They were all in a bunch and not flying because it is too windy to make any progress!! That is what a friendly ole gent told me.
The waves crashing on the beach and the water running up the shore was just gorgeous. Got my feet wet, my head cleared and really enjoyed it!
Had my shower and waiting for my mother's husband to call with his visit report. He isn't too good about asking questions of the nurse, but I will later if necessary.
Thought I'd check in on the nest since I just missed Belle & Shep this AM. Bella let me sleep in til 7 and the nest was empty when I got on. When I checked the blog, the birds had just left. Only have a few minutes to sit and watch - outside house decorating (almost 60 degrees here again today) and grocery shopping have to be done by 4pm when the Ravens game comes on. Hope everyone is enjoying the day!

Kay, you do rock! I hate getting that "I'm the only one here" feeling. Went out to the grossery store and quickly found my favorites, then home again.
Went online this morning and ordered pictures to stuff in Christmas cards. I don't have any two legged children, so you'll have to look at my two largest kids with smooshed faces - Bulldogs - Dalai and FloBear!
Okay, this makes it the Early Birds, plus Linda, who we all know is NOT an early person. ♥
I haven't figured out what I am doing for our Christmas card. YOu would think that with the wedding in CA and the anniversary party I would have one good family picture? No! The family pic from CA has the bride and groom, not that I don't love them, but they are cousins. The pic from my parents party, Andrew is partially hidden in the back! Dang...plus I usually do something fun and interesting, but I haven't come up with anything yet! And of course I always include the dogs.
I'm more interested in the animals most times anyway Lori! LOL!

We have been seeing lots of crows making noise and landing in neighbor's trees across the street.
Chelsea farm office and The Park have had many. Yesterday we had LOTS of blackbirds roosting in treetops.When the redwings start to go South, they fly downriver near sundown. Several years ago, our naturalist, Greg K., stayed in the PM and saw a steady stream of blackbirds for 45 minutes!!!Groups we see now are blackbirds and grackles together.

Virginia IS beautiful! They say WV is "almost heaven" and I say that VA is "God's Country." Just a wee bit prejudiced!!! Even tho' I born in DC and lived there til I was 7, we moved to VA suburbs so it is "home."
Found it sadly and ironically appropriate that Jocelyn's alma mater won the state football championship on the same day they aired the show.

LYNN what an unnecessary murder...I suppose all murders are!!! I am struck with an overwhelming sense of "what a waste" both her life and his...I am sad for his mother and have empathy for hers.Based on what I saw on the program I too think he is guilty...what a waste...
Yes, we do. And it works great with kids, but we also put in a lot of hours and spend a lot of our own money. I almost always do work over the weekend and I spend a great deal of my own money on things for the classroom. Then again, I like to have "stuff" for the classroom, so if I have to buy it myself I do. But honestly I couldn't ask for a better "vocation". I really feel it is what I was called to do, after being a mom. ☺
