It makes me wonder if he stayed with the plane. So it would not go into the crowd of people or even houses in the area.

Despite the tragedies, I love aviation in all it's varied aspects. I've been to about a dozen air shows and to the EAA Fly-in at Osh Kosh once (the year the controllers went on nationwide strike in the middle of it and Pres. Reagan fired them all)...and have never had a bad experience. I've flown in an aerobatic plane with a local pilot and done the loops, the hammerhead stall, etc. I've flown in an open cockpit helicopter....would never trade any of it. Haven't and probably won't fly commercial again since 9/11 because the airport hassle is just too much especially now for this breathless body)....but I truly have never felt fear. HEck, I owuld have gone on the shuttle if I could have! I was SO jealous when Barbara Mandrell got to fly in an F-16....why HER? Why not ME???!!!!!!

hedgie said...

Dana, the angle of "attack" so to speak was very sharp...and well away from the crowd. He was coming out of a loop, apparently, and was just too low to pull up...TBD whether it was pilot error or mechanical. No way he had time to eject---even if he had, he was too low for a chute to open in time.

hedgie said...

Yes, JudyE---yesterday in Reno, NV and today here in Martinsburg, WV.

I found this on the Wildlife Cente of VA facebook page about the eagle the other day

Alice Witt:
This is the eaglet that was hit by a car last night on the east side of Decorah. Two passing motorists stopped, contacted Bob Anderson, who rushed to capture it. Bob kept it overnight and SOAR's licensed rehabber picked it up this morning for the trip to its Rehab Facility for evaluation and rehab. They will post updates on their website. http://www.soarraptors.org/index.html
/the site to keep an eye on for info
I went ahead and made a link

JudyEddy said...

I went on that site and there is nothing there at present time FYI ok now I got to go eat BBL

wvgal_dana said...

Loretta I went to your nook and what beautiful pictures Lady !! ( : Thank you for sharing. I left you a comment.

wvgal_dana said...

Thanks JudyE maybe they will list something later. There might be a contact email that we could send and ask about the Decorah eagle????

wvgal_dana said...

I sent an email to them asking about the injured eagle that a man named Bob turned over to them. That I believe it was found around Decorah.
I will let you all know if I hear anything back.

hedgie said...

I have a yard full of big fat robins. Settling in for the night in their migration, maybe? And two thrushes just settled into the abandoned cardinal nest in the pyracantha---which is full of berries. Something hit the picture window in the office really hard---which is what made me go out to look!

NatureNut said...

BTW,on C-Span 3, American History TV, Richard Dreyfuss is broadcasting Live from the Robt. C. Byrd Ctr. in Sherherdstown, WV on govt., leg., etc., in honor of Constitution.

magpie said...

Nice new pictures, Loretta,
special thoughts today on your late father's birthday... (( ♥ ))

and Lynn, thank you for your picture post on your Lair also.
Thinking of Carolyn and the rest of the 911 team at the site today... Prayers for the pilot, his family, and his teammates, and all the little excited children at the show.....

there's a part of me that wonders...would the pilot have wanted to show to go on...
difficult decision to have to make...to cancel...

may the fireworks signify a celebration of the pilot's life......

magpie said...

Richard Dreyfuss spoke at a local high school here, yesterday, Loretta...

I was on the phone with State Police dispatcher giving their agency a call for a reckless driver on the interstate, and heard, though the phone, and also on our radios... one of their officers on their frequency, report that a plane had just gone down

It was a terrible thing to hear

I went outside, and saw several other planes....no doubt, returning to the airport....
and perhaps, they were flying in tribute to the fallen pilot, I think they were

magpie said...

no LOretta, think it is probably a different program....
I can't go check it right now...but will try to soon

magpie said...

After work....I didn't want to just "come home" and be alone...

I drove to the nest and looked from the road...
I saw the beautiful Eagles' nest...shrouded by Sycamore leaves....
did not see any Eagles, but did see a couple of woodpeckers, heard some nuthatches and bluebirds, and saw a Brown Thrasher on the way there

magpie said...

I have that on television now, Loretta
Thank You....

am emailing with my brothers and sisters.....

Off to prepare some hamburgers for dinner. My favorite meal!I dearly love hamburgers!!

Worked out in the front yard for a while, listening to thunder. All storms this evening are south of us. Still predicting more rain for tomorrow. However, it was nice to listen to the thunder and know that some who need rain were getting it.

Lolly said...

Lynn, had to chuckle at you and the wish for a ride in a F-16. That is one of Jack's planes.

I have been home since 4:30 and it took a while to warm up. We have a large
covered pavilion so the rain was not a problem and after a while it quit
Food was abundant and very good.
Potato salad went over well so I will be publishing the recipe. All of the youngsters made use of all the play equipment right next to the tables.
All in all everything went very well.
The Peanut butter Fudge is to die for.

Hello all. I thank all of you for the kind words. I am ok. Crystal, the girl I was with today was more shook up than I. I had a bad feeling last night, I hate my intuitions, as I had one the night my house burned down too. Ugh, not a very nice thing to have!! Did get to see some of the planes flying as where I was stationed, we had no radio traffic to manage and I got up to look out the window a few times. Ready to get the sound of the crash out of my head!

Costume Lady said...

Sorry you had to experience that tragedy, Carolyn, but glad that you are not too traumatized.
Prayers for the pilot and his family and all of you that were there to witness the crash. Take care and we will pray that you will not have a lasting picture in you mind of the day~

I see in the comment above that KAY has come home. I will go back and try to find her comments.

WVGALDANA Cool you got a hold of someone about the eagle We wait with baited breathe to hear something I will keep checking facebook I had also left a question about it with the person who left the info on fb so hopefully we will hear something soon

Costume Lady said...

It was so cold here, in the house this morning, that Gene started a fire in the fireplace. We ate breakfast near the fire and it felt so good...wasn't it just a few days ago that we couldn't seem to get cooled off? Anyway, the fire felt so good that Gene has kept it going all day while he did Soup Kitchen paperwork at his desk, and I did my last costume orders, etc. at my desk.
It is now, 53° outside and 76° inside. Fires in the fireplace is the only good thing about Winter...so relaxing!

Oh, Judy, I did on the day that PALMER (I think it was Palmer) fledged. I drove down to the Nest and I saw something in the tree that might have been him/her, I tried to take a picture and my screen told me there was no card! I knew that I could get 1 without it, so that is all I got. Not enough to tell for certain is it was the fella. When I got home, Gene told me that I could have gotten 4 or 5...NOW I KNOW!

Margy, I think John would have wanted the show to go on....that would have been a more appropriate tribute IMHO. Sad.....
News article said that the other planes from the team were directed to "another" airport--I guess Hagerstown or Winchester, where a chaplain and counselor were to meet with them.

Hoda said...

I was shocked to read about the crash in Martinsberg Air Show.
CBS had the huge fireball and I came to the blog right away...then one of my neighbours stopped by and we chaqtted and I just now can post. I read your posts and am glad to know Carolyn is fine with it, MARGY too heard it...
Rough weekend this is turning out to be.PRAYERS TO ALL.

There's my kid!!!! Hi, kid!

Lolly, tell Jack that "his" plane is still on my bucket list!!

Wanda, I'm sure the fire felt good. I had told Bill that there was no rush in replacing my deteriorated flood light sockets....told him today that maybe sooner rather than later now---I need that light to see to get firewood after dark!
I DID turn on the gas stove last night!!!

Thank You for your kind words and the offer that I should have stopped by your place....
You're right, I should have!
I could have shared with you, the sad disappearing of the pasture across from your house

I saw about 15 wild turkeys near the road coming back towards Berkeley County;
they were popping out of the underbursh one at a time....crossing the road,
to get to the other side !
LOL
I stopped to watch, but there was a car behind me, so, I just had to wait my turn to go and move on

hedgie said...

LOL, Margy---hope the turkey weren't going single file or too slow!

Judie disappears as quickly as she arrives.

Wish Lori would check in and say "we're home!"----it's not THAT long a trip unless they did lots of sightseeing on the way!

Missed saying hi to Jim!!! Hi, Jim! Your weather sounds perfect!!

hedgie said...

Got the Bee Gees on, Margy. Just finished the Jackie Kennedy special from earlier in the week. Very moving in a few parts.....memories sure come flooding back. Lots of names mentioned of people that my Dad knew and worked with. I think that awful day in Dallas was the day that a lot of us "grew up" so to speak. There certainly has never been another Camelot.

Sweet dreams! Wish Kay had made a personal appearance today...maybe tomorrow.

Congrats on your Bingo wins, Shirley! I've never won a thing---and it IS an expensive form of entertainment. I find that I just can't keep up with the multiple cards that most people run, too!

We played on computers, Lynn. I think we were each playing 24 cards. You just put in the numbers and the computer tells you when you have bingo. I would have had a hard time with all of the configurations it took to make bingo--not just down, across, or diagonal.

They did have the cards, too, and some people were using both cards and computers. They also had all kinds of other games going on and some people were doing that.

Hoda said...

Well I read through the whole blog today hoping to see Kay post, but I am sure she is exhausted and settling in at home.

Welcome Home, Kay ♥♥♥

I hope you continue to gain your strength back and feel better very soon. You have been dearly missed.

Shirley - Sounds like a tough morning for Kathryn, but glad to hear the evening ended on a good note for you two!

Another tragic accident at another air show. So sad, but thankful there wasn't as much loss of life in this crash.

Also thankful Carolyn was okay and safe through the whole thing. Kudos to you, girl!!

Lori - I am sure you've gone to bed for the night, but hope you arrived home safely with your temporary addition. You're so kind!

Jo - Happy to hear your picnic was fun and that the potato salad was a hit!!

And so we have the angel momster at work again?? Maybe we have a sugar momster!! LOL Our deepest gratitude for taking our sentiments and sending such a thoughtful gift to our dearest Kay!!

Nice nap, Paula!! That is what happens to me if I go upstairs and take a nap. It ends up being a half night's sleep for me!! Love to sleep!!

So this is my Hello and Goodnight post for today!!

May you all sleep well this Saturday night!! Tomorrow is another day!!

Sweet dreams and prayers for all! xoxo ♥♥♥

Hubby took Sassafras out in a boat and she had some notion that she could walk on water. Rus had to pull her back into the boat.

Susan was taking care of Luna for Kathryn and her roommate (without permission) took her for a walk and allowed her to go into the lake. A bystander rescued her before she drowned. Susan was not pleased. All I can say is that the roommate had a serious lack of common sense.

hedgie said...

Now I've heard it all, Shirley! Computerized Bingo! What will they come up with next??? WOuld be easier if a "machine" finds the numbers, tho'!!!

Paula, are you WIDE awake???

I am not----getting bleary-eyed. Tub next on my list of to-do's...then finish mani-pedi and then snuggle into my electric blanket! Thinks it's time to put the flannels, at least, on the bed this week....better hold off on the fleece for a while.

Sorry, I didn't quite make it in time for a Saturday post, but hope some early Sunday rambling will suffice. I've skimmed the blog from Tuesday forward, choking up over and over again as I read about your concerns, your prayers and your love !

I will have to go back for some of the videos and special features, but it seems I'll have a lot of time to do so over the next two weeks. I'm sooo much better, but was far more ill than I realized and am now homebound, per insurance requirements, while I receive in home anti-biotic care through IV. A home care nurse spent hours here yesterday, cleaning the midline site, training Julie and me on the care of it and how to administer the potent brew once every 24 hours. She did an extensive interview and examination and I was exhausted when she left shortly after 4. I surfaced for dinner, but zonked right out again and am just now feeling like the old me is coming back !

Kidney infections are no fun and beware, diabetics, we are particulay vulnerable in that regard. Won't go back over the last few grueling days, but you don't ever want to go there !!! They were able to draw off much of the infection by needle, but there was some fragmenting, thus the follow up care in hopes of kicking butt on this "demon" by the end of the month.

As many of you know first hand, you may go into the hospital for one thing, but the side effects, dry raspy throat, cracked bleeding lips, overall muscular pain and fatigue are devastating. One by one all that stuff will resolve.

Again, there is no way to adequately thank you dear Momsters/Dadsters, for your prayers, gifts, cards...It's overwhelming and has touched me deeply. I love youse guys ! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I'm hoping for a relaxing Sunday for everyone. I am going to go catch at least one little kindergarten soccer game. It's only an hour of my time, but they just love seeing me at their games.

WANDA We have a guy that cleans out the pond about twice a month When he see signs of a gator he calls the state and they send someone out to capture it and it is usually released somewhere else or sometimes back in the pond where he came from behind the store The people feed in that live on the other side of the wall He has seen bones so that is why he calls Now its been over a year since I have seen one in the pond and he may not know about this little guy The little island that they use to lay on is under water being we have had all that rain and that is where he would see their foot prints now that its not there it will be hard to tell. The embankments is all grass so no feet prints to see So I am going to see if I can find out his name and company from Vickie in the office and I will call him to tell him about it. I know he has been feed by humans because he followed us along the fence line when he saw us walking He drew quite a crowd today so I want to make sure he get taken out lots of customers saw him also were shocked he was there

Its cool watching them trap them they just use a rope with a raw chicken tied to the end and drag him in and hog tie him really neat to watch I have see it only once and didn't have a camera on me I make sure I have it on all the time now just to capture moments I loved that I got the egret taking a shower in the pond a while back. That retention pond has lots of wild life in it when the Gators aren't around I noticed today no birds or no turtles on the embankments I saw some turtle swimming around today

HODA BURR so soon just seem like yesterday it was cold there your summer doesn't last long does it? it seems.

Yes, Judy, Susan's roommate was a piece of work to say the least. She once looked outdoors and asked Susan what those animals running around were. Susan said, "Squirrels???" I know they have squirrels in New York where this girl was from. She also asked Susan "What liquid do dogs require?" Hmmm--Water. (But to drink only if you are a basset hound.)

Strange. She moved on . . . I think maybe she went back to New York.

It seems that she was just standing there letting Luna flounder in the lake until the bystander came to the rescue. Luna was a large puppy at the time.

stronghunter said...

Oh, excuse me. Good morning!!

stronghunter said...

Yay, more rain in Texas!

T-Bird said...

Good morning eagle momsters and dadsters.

stronghunter said...

Hi, Thelma!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Kay, so glad you are home and on the mend. Sounds like you went through a lot of what I did with my liver abscess. Momsters loved me through that too. Eaglet Momsters are da bomb.

DanaMo said...

Why does 50 seem so cold? Couldn't figure out what to wear to Mass. Seems to early to wear winter outfits. Can't wear pants because I lector today and I don't like to wear pants on the alter.

T-Bird said...

Kay prayers are sent your way. Glad you are hear with us again.

DanaMo said...

And please tell me; How do my clothes shrink in the closet over the summer?

T-Bird said...

Glad to see Eagle-Eyes Sharon with us this morning. ; )

stronghunter said...

Oh my, mysterious shrinkage of clothes in the closet. Yes, I know what you mean DanaMo.

stronghunter said...

Looks grey and gloomy outdoors here.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

It is Buddy's fault.

stronghunter said...

What are we blaming on Buddy this morning?

T-Bird said...

That he woke Eagle-Eyes up.

T-Bird said...

All I can say is he knows his Auntie will take care of him. : )

T-Bird said...

He is sitting in the chair now snoring.

stronghunter said...

So, he woke her up and then went back to sleep himself?

paula eagleholic said...

Morning all!!!

Just saw a pair of eagles in my tree...they flew off!

T-Bird said...

Morning Paula. That's right stronghunter. : )

Costume Lady said...

A pair of eagles on Paula's tree, now is that a good way to start the day, or what? Now you know why we call her place, Paradise:)

stronghunter said...

Yowling cats are sometimes louder than the dogs in this house.

stronghunter said...

I would love to look outside and see two eagles. How nice, Paula.

magpie said...

I'm catching up on posts and begin reading "I wish Lori would check in..." Sorry.

We got home around 5:30 and so much to do unpacking the car then just unpacking everything we ordered out and I feel asleep in the chair!

We are all safe. Dalai & Flo Bear are happy to be home. CoCo the adorable rescue is sooo cute and sweet. She will have surgery soon for her cherry eye. Poor honey.

So sorry for MARGY & Carolyn having to see / hear that plane crash. I couldn't believe there was another one when I turned the news on. Prayers for famlies and everyone there.

Good Morning Everyone - It is a chilly
morning here in the valley.
So happy to hear from Kay and Lori - I didn't stay up late enough to know they
had checked in! Good luck for the surgery on the cherry eye that CoCo will have fixed! I remember when Chloe had one when she was younger - healed right up after surgery.

Paula's eagle sighting is great. Hopefully a nest will be near by.

Lolly said...

Good morning! Started reading the blog from where I said good night. Got to Kay's post and was THRILLED!!!! Kay, so, so sorry that you have been so ill. Bless you! Sounds like you are getting good care. We will continue to "pray you well"! Love and (((Hugs)))

Yes, Lori, you can change your avatar. Hopefully, we will get more rain today. Some of Texas got rain last night, we just got to hear the thunder. It was very lightly sprinkling when I went down to get the paper...hope for things to come later on today!

Something should really be done about shrinking clothes. In this day and age you would think the industry could prevent clothes from shrinking. lol And, Margy, I can not imagine your clothes shrinking!

Lolly said...

PAULA....what a wonderful weekend! I just can not imagine seeing an eagle in my trees. That is just awesome!!! You did well picking your paradise home!!!

Lolly said...

Time for me to eat a bite of breakfast and then to get ready for church.

Have a great Sunday!

paula eagleholic said...

Took a walk on the beach...still one osprey around...think its the youngster

Lolly said...

Oh, forgot to mention. On fb there is a new button to click on to see how your page looks to friends and to the public. Neat, in that you can make sure you have your settings correct. However, while doing this I saw two posts (in my name) that were NOT mine. They said "Lolly recommends", well, Lolly did NOT recommend! That is very irritating! I marked them as spam and deleted them and hope that deleted them off of everyone's page.

Lori O. said...

JO, CoCo and I thank you. It is cool here this morning! Supposed to be 67 today.

LOLLY, I bet your plants are perking up already! New avatar. Love Calla Lilies

PAULA, cool for your eagle sighting! You have the perfect place!

Mema Jo said...

FYI: FB from Steve Chase says he is headed for Denver today. Maybe new thread won't be until much later...

hedgie said...

Good Sunday morning!

So good to see so many of you here both last night and this morning!

Sun is out, 58°....not nearly as chilly last night as the last few.

Kay, so glad you felt up to blogging for a little while!! You and Sharon can share abcess stories! Poor girls.

DanaMo----it is surely nasty that the shrink-monster invaded your closet. I'm with Paula...a long skirt when slacks won't do will keep your legs warm!
Margy, YOU gain weight??? I bet your Bibs really did shrink!!! Maybe we all have left the dryer on high heat!!!

Shirley, Susan's roommate must have been a real ditz! Thank goodness for the good samaritan saving Luna!

T-bird: ♫ Are you ready for some football???? ♫ I am! Go SKINS!!!!

Lori, glad you and Kate and all the bullies made it home safe and sound. Any sign of the BV juvie???

Paula, you are one lucky momster!! Wouldn't it be awesome if they nested in one of your trees????

hedgie said...

Lolly, hope that WHEN the rain returns, there's no storm so that you and Jack can go barefootin' again!

Jo, are you heading for Mass this morning? Assuming you missed yesterday because of the picnic?

hedgie said...

JudyE, how does the gator get into that retention pond?

stronghunter said...

Susan was truly astonished at some of the things her roommate did and said. Susan thought that the woman had narcolepsy after she seemed to fall asleep suddenly and tried to get her to talk about it, but wasn't successful in learning much. But I don't know how narcolepsy would explain the other issues. She just seemed clueless.

stronghunter said...

Margy, you have e-mail.

hedgie said...

I've had a bit of a sniffle since the weather turned c ool, and since I haven't gotten my flu shot yet (TOMORROW!!!), decided I would be smart to avoid being closed up in a room with a bunch of other people, so I am playing hookie from my Animal Advocates meeting today. My rider can't make it, so I don't have to be responsible for anyone else.....and it IS the first one I've missed since we started up in May of 2010! Plan to enjoy football and Nascar this afternoon!

Judie said...

Good late morning everyone.

Kay, so very nice of you to join the blog and bring us up-to-date. Very happy you are home and really hope the in-home treatment works quickly. Take it slow and easy.

Lori, glad you checked in and the critters are all doing well together. I'm sure you wish the vacation could continue but you have lots of great memories.

Shirley, so pleased you and Kathryn won more than you spent.

Jo, glad the picnic worked out well and the younguns had fun and the food was yummy.

Shrinking clothes? Hmmmm. Well, what can I say as I am already thinking about dinner. Maybe home-made mac & cheese with spicy sausage patties.

Paula, how very fortunate you are. Eagles and an osprey. Wow!

Carolyn, glad you are feeling okay after yesterday's experience. Thanks for coming in to visit.

Chilly here. Pulled a blanket on last night. Have a flannel shirt on today. Brrrrr.

Off to get some work done. Wishing all a lovely day.

Mema Jo said...

Oh My Lynn - you caught me but hope you won't report me to the Man up stairs -
Hubby went last evening to Mass while I got my energy restored and he's out for coffee and his morning run now. I did say my prayers earlier & talked to Him with thankfulness for family and friends in my life.

Judie said...

Oh, forgot.

GO 'SKINS!!!!

Mema Jo said...

I looked up from the newspaper a minute or two ago and right there on the railing of the deck was a beautiful downy woodpecker - he didn't stay long but he made my day.

I wish I had company to have gone over to Market to see Megan and hear Willy Barry. That young man has a God given voice!

stronghunter said...

Hi Judie,

Ditto.
Go Skins!!

wvgal_dana said...

Good Sunday Morning DanaMo, JudyE, Shirley, OUR Thelma ( : GO RED SKINS, Sharon, Paula and her eagles and seeing still ospreys, Wanda, Margy our tomato gal, Lori, Mema Jo, Lolly you and Jack need to do another naked dance to bring those
sprinkles in to full rain drops, Hedgie-Lynn/e did you use your electric blanket last night?

stronghunter said...

Hi, DanaWV.

stronghunter said...

It was interesting spending time at the fire station. I can tell you that everyone knew when there was a fire call. There were 3 or 4 while we were there and that buzzer is really loud.

wvgal_dana said...

JudyE beautiful sunset..I think someone better be removing that gator HE IS GROWING !!!!
How do they get in there JudyE if there is fencing all around...under the fence? Or is there connecting water that they can swim right into the retention pond?

Margy we use to have wild turkeys in here haven't seen them for a couple of year now. I miss seeing them.

Hoda I am praying it doesn't rain for
the Proctor Fall Fair Today.

Wow Shirley you and Kathryn together win and Kathryn BIG TIME!!!!! So was it $70 each or all together..I checking out your winnings LOL Shirley thank God for the
person that rescued Luna because I don't think that girl would have. Doesn't know what dogs drink?????? Ok glad she went back to New York.

Oh NO not 4 new fires!!! DANG !!!
I was hoping the 18 old ones were burning out.

I like the dogs swimming too. I agree hope they remember to wash off the cholorine. Yes some dogs need swim gear.

Cute Hoda about the link of the 10 commandents for dogs.

So HAPPY ( : to see Kay dropped in last night.
God Bless Her sounds like a terrible infection.
Glad they went over everything at the house in good detail for Julie and Kay. Sounds like 2 weeks of home rest and IV medication. May
God Bring Speedy and Fast and FULL RECOVERY Kay.^j^

Lori what is a cherry eye that CoCo has?

Paula I am reading "The Help" love it truly a good book!!! I am ready to see the movie anytime. I will
still finish the book. On Paula it would be so neat if an eagle or osprey made a nest in one of your trees.

Hedgie-Lynn/e I am so glad that Carolyn is ok.

hedgie said...

LOL, DanaWV, I've had the electric blanket on for several nights!!! Had to turn it up a good bit Fri. night, but was able to back it off to a lower level last night.

Jo, The Great Man upstairs understand your faithfulness and won't fault you one bit for missing Mass!
WHen you say Ed went for his run....I assume you mean his morning visits, and not actually jogging, right??

Judie, Mac&cheese and sausage sounds good! Since it isn't raining, I am going to grill....now need to make up my mind whether to do steak or burgers!

wvgal_dana said...

Good Morning Judie..Hope Darth is being a good boy. ( :

wvgal_dana said...

I have never used an electric blanket. Ed did summer and winter. His legs always brother him. I AM USING ONE THIS YEAR!! It is so soft.

KMart has them on sale.

wvgal_dana said...

Sorry JudyE couldn't give a plug to buy them at WalMart-Wally World.

Big news announcement for Charles Town: Richard Dreyfus' "Dreyfus Initiative" is purchasing the Charles Washington home Happy Retreat to use for the global headquarters of the George Washington Institute on Enlightenment!! It will be an "educational center for scholarship on, discussion and dissemination of, and preservations of the documents, history and principles of the Enlightenment." He refers to Washington as the "embodiment of Enlightenment values and thought. His entire life is a model for how the Enlightenment can be applied to daily life and to leadership."
For info, go to: www.thedreyfussinitiative.org

Pretty neat!!!! So Dreyfuss is a Washington Scholar, and David Selby is a Lincoln scholar.....we do have some bright older actors. The young ones should take lessons!

stronghunter said...

$70 was for both of us. About $35 each. We got use of two computers, one paper jackpot game each, and one of those daubers to mark the paper game. Some prizes were as much as $500, and there was a $1,000 prize if they had at least 100 participants. We were trying to figure out how much profit they were making as they did give out a lot of money, but they were taking in a lot, too. They would not be doing it if they weren't profiting.
