Glad Aric is adjusting DanaMo!

Lynn, no Stony?? any yet Liesl is already shameless flirting?

I agree...don't get me started either on the whole child beauty contest crap....GGGRRRRRRRRR

Lynne2 said...

Hey Hoda...Is the medication Darvocet available in your neck of the world??

Hey, don't forget you can report Monarch and Hummingbird sightings!

It's very easy, just click on the How to Report link on the top!

JUDY, I do have IE on the bottom tool bar, next is Windows Explorer, then Windows Media Player. The latter two only give me info paragraphs right now. I'm sure Hugh will get this all straightened out for me. What do I have but time !

Yes, LYNN, mother's who pour hot sauce in kids mouths--followed by a cold shower....Father's who throw kids overboard when on a tour boat and parents who put their little girls in Beauty Pageants are all child abusers IMHO !

hedgie said...

A disappointing line-up for DWTS this season. Hope "Chaz" Bono doesn't drop dead of a heart attack! Nancy Grace should be interesting...hmmmm!

Lolly said...

roflmbo Jack just "butt" called me. Toof funny! Could not understand what they were saying but could make out both Jack and Michael. Wish I could have understood them...would have been fun to listen in, but I hung up after trying to yell, whistle, etc.

Kay said...

LYNN, I'm with you on DWTS line up, worst yet, I think. Can't you just see the pro dancers praying for the precious few who it will be fun to work with ? ☺

Kay said...

LOLLY, you're going to have to educate this ol' gal, what is "butt" calling ? I'd hoped Michael was treating his dad to the Cirque de Soleil performance of "O" tonight---one of Bellagio's best features. But, it sounds like they've been playing video poker at the bar ! LOL The Bellagio is certainly right up there in the top ten on the Vegas opulance scale---you'll have to ask for equal time. Having retired from the Casino industry I don't care if I ever walk through the doors of one again !!!!

Lynne2 said...

Funny Lolly!

hedgie said...

Lolly...where were the guys when they didn't call???!!!! In the bar??!!

Liesl is ready for the sofa...she is worn out! BBL.

Lynne2 said...

Kay, cell phone in the back pocket, accidental dialing!

CHAZ Bono??? OMG! I didn't know she was a he now!

paula eagleholic said...

DanaMO...on beer #2 here...

Evening, all!

One of those frazzles lousy days at work, hoping for a better tomorrow!

DanaWV, so sorry to hear about your friend.

Hope Linda gets her power back soon!

paula eagleholic said...

Whoa, I'm on the right side now!

♫♫

I can still make these...no problem

paula eagleholic said...

Hoda, glad to hear it's probably just the ear infection!

Lynne2 said...

a little sort of good news today...Steve was talking to Jamie (our neighbor, Ken the former landlord's daughter). She said he'll be back on Sunday. Seems there is another rental that will need some refurbishing, to go along with the current one and the farm. AND, the swim club that he "inherited" from his parents, well, they financed the sale themselves, and the owners have defaulted on the payments after many years. SO it looks like they'll be taking it over again next month, and much work needs to be done there as well. So, we just need to get over this hump, and looks like Steve will have more work to do while waiting to hear from one (or MORE) of the places he's applied to. None have called yet. Worse, none have contact info either! When you apply online like almost all have required, there is no actual contact person mentioned so it's a sit an wait game. UGH.

paula eagleholic said...

Everytime I see a pic of Chaz Bono, I think of that precious little Chasity...
Chaz could lose a few lbs.

Linda said...

Yipee........ We finally have power!! Can't believe it!!!

Just thought I'd share our long awaited good news!! I think we were one of the lasts in this general area, but we made it through just fine. With mild weather, and the generator we did well!

Have to catch up from the last time I was on yesterday morning, but first I might just watch some TV because I can!! LOL

Thanks for all the love, prayers and support!

Lynne2 said...

YAY LINDA!!!

Lynne2 said...

wish I could think of an appropriate song we could sing in celebration!

Kay said...

LYNNE, thanks for bringing me up to snuff on cell phone in back pocket calling ! That may explain a few strange phone calls I've answered over the last few years ! LOL

Linda said...

Lynne - I'm sure you'll come up with one!!

Linda said...

Now that I have taken a LONG HOT SHOWER, I think I will waste some more electricity and blow dry my hair!! Hee Hee!!

Then some TV!!

JudyEddy said...

need a eagle fix there is one on the OK nest now Sutton

Lynne2 said...

this will probably be the BEST shower you ever had Linda!

Kay said...

HMMM, LYNNE, how about "You Light Up My Life" as an ode to ConEd or AEP or whoever, rather than to a "he" ?

Lynne2 said...

GOOD ONE KAY! You know I remember that song, and my mother saying how Debbie Boone couldn't sing. LOL!

Kay said...

JUDY, I thought you were denting the pillows by now ! The Sutton nest is the one that got me started and hooked several years ago. It's had a tragic and disappointing couple of years, but hope they get their act together in the coming season. I can't tell which eagle that is, or even if it's one of the past residents. They've had one of the most contentious relationships I've witnessed in eagledom. Proved to me that all eagles are not created equal and they exhibit many different personalities ! My cousin in Gutherie, OK refused to watch any nests but those on the Sutton site. Boy, does she miss a lot !!!

stronghunter said...

Child beauty contests? Kathryn asked a relative from the other side of the family to be in her wedding. The parents wanted the girl to wear one of her beauty contest dresses. Oh my. We ended up providing a dress ourselves.

Kay said...

LYNNE, your mom was right ! Wasn't that her only "hit" ?

Hoda said...

LYNNE 2... I do not know much about medication. You asked if we had DARVOCET in Canada...I'll be glad to ask, what is it for, why do you ask?Is it a prescription medication?

LINDA so glad you have power back.

My mind can not quite understand "butt calling" LOLLY but it sounds hilarious. My phone has a cover on it so it is impossible to accidentally dial...They would not have known they phoned I presume...HA HA !!!

Kay said...

LINDA, I got so hung up on a song that I forgot to say how thrilled I am that you are all lit up now !!!!!

Linda said...

Thanks Kay and Hoda!!

Kay - Funny that you mention that song! I sang that song when I was 17 years old at a Strawberry Festival we had at our church!! I don't remember if Debbie Boone sang it good or bad, but I still loved the song and loved having the chance to sing it back then!

stronghunter said...

Very sleepy. I need to head upstairs. Best wishes to everyone heading off to work tomorrow. I will see you late. Good night.

Linda said...

I remember my step-dad being so touched by the song, he said it was if I was singing it to him. He was a sweet man.......didn't deserve my Mom, but sure was good to us kids for the time my Mom was married to him! He did "light up my life!"

JudyEddy said...

so neat so see that eagle still sitting there in total darkness right above the nest. So I bet that is exactly what happens to our eagles that they sit just above the cam box and sometimes on the box that is why we hear them I love how OK has two cams on the nest to see the total view We all had our first camera Hey let tell all mine was the one in Fl and then Maine I loved that one then the list keep getting bigger each year I would peek on each of then daily sill do but not as much on off season Facebook Friend of Ponca tell when one is sited that is pretty neat to get a alert

I don't put a dent in the pillow till about 10 or 11 I watch TV and the news first

JudyEddy said...

LINDA so glad you have power Now I am powering down down down for the count see ya in the ☼

Lynne2 said...

that song was her biggest hit ever, and then she kind of faded. Went on to do some country songs, and Christian music.

Hoda, Darvocet is a narcotic pain killer, milder that the percocet types of drugs. It was prescribed to me for many years for my back. I didn't take it regularly but it sure helped when the pain got bad. They took it off the market in the US last winter I think, citing cardiac side effects. I liked it because it worked pretty well, didn't make me sick or high. I won't take the stronger pain meds, they make me sick to my tummy anyway, but I just don't want to go there. Have seen too many people end up with problems with addiction. So now they give me Tramadol. Doesn't seem to help as much, and I took one 2 Saturdays ago and I felt like doggie doo doo later that day. Didn't make the connection til I needed another one late last week and had the same problem. Til now they didn't do that. I WANT MY DARVOCET BACK!!!!

Lolly said...

Jack hooks his phone when carrying it on his belt. He must have bumped redial. His does not have a cover. I will give him a hard time about it when he calls.

Lynne, certainly will keep my fingers crossed that Steve will have more work. Sounds good!

Yea, for Linda!!! Isn't electricity wonderful!!No more living in the dark!!!

Kay said...

All of a sudden I can hardly keep my eyes open, so will bid you all a goodnight ! Prayers ongoing for all we've mentioned today and those whom we continue to remember.

See you on the morrow, but it may not be til' afternoon---yep, time for one of those "r☺utine" doctor appts. again. Fasting tonight, but that's no biggie--I don't eat during the night anyway !

LINDA FOR YOU

I always like that song and didn't see where she was a bad singer...but I can't sing either so how the heck would I know! I think Janis Joplin has a horrible voice but everyone else raves about her!

Lynne2 said...

YAY LIBERTY! He should be plotting his takeover of his bride and palace about now.....I'm still hopeful anyway!

WV car wash "Sinatra" guy made it through to the semi-finals of AGT!
And Susan Boyle appeared...her third album comes out Nov.1st. Wasn't crazy about the song she just sang...and she is still so uncomfortable on stage. But, I still love her!

Lynne, so sorry about the idiots you had to deal with today. And poor doggie that didn't survive. :(

Lolly said...

Jack and I visited the Sutton eagle nest. LOL That was one of the places we used our "submarine" to visit the nest, right, Loweeda? lol

hedgie said...

Hurray, Linda!!! So GLAD that you have seen the light!

Hip-hurray, Steve has more work coming!!!

Sorry your day was a two-beer day, Paula. Downhill the rest of the week, I hope, and then will it be Paradise time??

Lynne2 said...

thanks Lynn. It does get difficult. I could post stories every day but I'd rather spare you all! Some of them are just so frustrating.

hedgie said...

Beg to differ with your mom, Lynne!! I think Debbie Boone did a great job on that song. Brings back lots of memories for me. And she is a v-e-r-y distant relative!!

Lynne2 said...

oh please Lynn.....differ away. What does she know anyway!

Lynne2 said...

She also thought Johnny Cash sounded like "a mastodon stuck in a tar pit".

hedgie said...

Hoda, no accidental calling on my phone, either!!

Oops, Kay! I would say that song was her only Number 1.....but she eventually opted for motherhood and wedded bliss.

Lolly said...

I feel sorry for the poor pro dancer that gets to dance with Chaz. More than a little over weight.

paula eagleholic said...

Kay, one of my favorite songs...you light up my life!

Lynne2 said...

well, a lot of the celebs managed to loose a lot of weight on DWTS...maybe it'll work with Chaz.

LOL! I remember when SHE was the cute little blonde baby that used to be in the arms of Sonny and Cher at the end of some of their shows!

Hoda said...

LYNNE 2 I bet you anything the DARVOCET would then be a prescription drug if it is still used in Canada. When I go see my doctor I will ask her.

hedgie said...

ROFL, Lynne...now that's a hysterical comparison. Did you aske her how she knows what a mastodon in a tar pit sounds like???!!!

Good night, JudyE and Kay and Shirley. Rest well.c

Linda, soooooooo glad your electric is back on!

Lynne, hope more work is headed Steve's way!

Lynne2 said...

oh no Lynn, you didn't ask mother things like that. Would end up in going to my room for being a smart alec.

To be fair, she liked a lot of stuff that I still like, Neil Diamond, Jerry Vale, the Tijuana Brass....and always there was show tunes playing.

Lynne2 said...

There was one album she played often called Rod McKuen (sp?) Through European Windows. There was a song I would get so carried away singing called Le bourgeois. I just thought it was hilarious!

hedgie said...

Wonder what Margy is up to this evening?

Lynne2 said...

Le bourgeois, all are very dumb
the older that they get
the dumber they become

Le bourgeois, what a bunch of pigs
half of them are bald
the half wear wigs.

You can see where a chorus such as that one would be so entertaining to a young mind!

hedgie said...

Lynne, Neil Diamond is one of my favs, for sure. And his live Christmas show was probably the best solo entertainment I ever saw! Tijuana Brass was always a delight....still have their albums! I thought Rod McKuen was a poet...???

Lynne2 said...

a poet and a singer!

Listened to Neil Diamond on the way home....Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show is my FAVORITE! Boy, I can really belt that one out alone in my car!

hedgie said...

Good night, Judie. Have a good day at the big schoolhouse.

Linda said...

Thanks for the song, JudyE!!!

Thanks to everyone for celebrating with me!! It is wonderful to be out of the dark!!

Love the song references, too!!
Good one, Judie!

Lynne - I felt the same way about darvocette! Loved having the stuff for those days you just HAD to take something. I may have a bottle of 30 pills last me a couple years, but when I really needed one, I could take it and not get knocked out or get sick to my stomach. I usually could only take a half, though. Otherwise I would get itchy. I don't do good with those nartcotic drugs.

Lynne2 said...

My favorite musical is Camelot! My grandparents saw it on Broadway with Julie Andres and Richard Burton and Robert Goulet. Boy I wish there was a video of THAT around! The movie was a huge disappointment to them. I can see why. Richard Harris, not much of a singer, Vanessa Redgrave with a dubbed voice and whoever that wimpy Sir Lancelot was.....UGH!

Lynne2 said...

Linda, if they have it in Canada....ROAD TRIP!!!! We'll visit Hoda, pick up some contraband....it'll be fun!

Lynne2 said...

and we'll sing all the way, of course!

Lolly said...

Okay, getting a picture of you two traveling the roads....and singing, the car rocking!!

Lynne2 said...

Well start with Willie's classic "On the Road Again" of course! LOL!

Lynne2 said...

oh, and we should take the dogs, too, for added fun!

Lynne2 said...

then we can sing Me and You and a Dog Named Boo......and Riley, and Puddy, and Daisy....

Lynne2 said...

OK, getting silly, must be bedtime! Maybe some more good news tomorrow for us too!

Good night everyone and prayers for all!

Why bother getting it mailed when you can make a fun road trip out of it and get to see Hoda, too!!

Heck, we'd have to go so far out west to see Hoda, we might as well stop and see Irene in MT, then after we see Hoda, we can head down to CA to see Andy, stop by and see Lolly on the way back, too!!

Lots of singing and fun!! If only money, time, jobs, responsibilities, etc didn't get in the way of just doing some fun and crazy things!!!

speaking of which, what does he say about the Food ?

Lori...sad for you, letting go of Bobby and LeRoy today, hope their next home is as good as the one they have had with you ! Glad you will still have Andie with you for awhile ♥

Seems like a nice cool day to go fishing...let's hope that's where Belle and any and all other eagles near NCTC are out getting breakfast !

Good morning,

Happy September, everyone!

Now it is really September. Maybe it will bring cooler weather and rain for Texas.

Hi Shirley!
Hope you caught up on your sleep!

And it's already time for me to start shaking a couple of legs here, worktime looms

Best Wishes for a Good Day, Everyone

SHIRLEY it's so nice to have you back on early again...though I'm sure you thought you would be able to sleep in when you retired.
Hello to Hunter and the bus driver!

Have a great day MARGY! I hope you and James get to go fishing. It'll be another beautiful day. Humidity returns tomorrow and more through the weekend.

Good September Morn to my dear Eagle Family.......

Wishing everyone a better day today than yesterday......

LINDA!!!! Hello!

Linda said...

Lori - Hoping saying good-bye to Bobby and LeRoy won't be too hard on you. I would imagine you ALWAYS get attached to the little guys!

How is Kate feeling?

Linda said...

It's so wonderful to see you, Lori!!

I just love reading your quiet soothing morning posts!

Lori O. said...

Of yes, I get attached. The smile comes when I hear they got a great home and will have a shot at a great life inside instead of being a short lived feral cat. And, they are just so adorable. Bobby is beyond cute with his little raccoon masked face and eyes set so close! Too cute and so sweet. :)

Linda said...

Love the new avatar, too, Lori!

LOLLY will appreciate it. Looks like rain for her flowers!

Linda said...

Sorry you were sensing a tough day at work today.

How's it been so far? Will you be done and free to go at 9, or do you stay later?

Prayers you're okay and your day isn't too difficult! Shine on through it, M♥rning GL♥ri!

Kindergarten Kids--

When Rus started kindergarten, his teacher promised to believe only half of what she heard if we would promise to believe only half of what we heard.

Hunter Story--

I am having some difficulty finding acceptable foods to put in his lunches. Found out he is throwing away the turkey breast sandwiches I have been giving him. He likes turkey breast, but not what I have been buying. (Kathryn says I need to buy something cheaper.)

I asked if he would eat broccoli. He said, "Umm, I don't think I want anyone to know I like vegetables." Oh, the social pressures a kid is subjected to.

This morning, he agreed to accept a cheese sandwich.

Linda said...

Good Morning Shirley.

Too bad Hunter feels social pressure in what he eats for lunch. I guess the best you can do is encourage him to eat what he wants and stand behind it if anyone challenges him.

Would he go to the grocery store with you and show you what he wants in his lunch? As long as he doesn't want real expensive stuff or things that aren't good for him, it might help.

Looks like you've retired from one challenging job and acquired another one!! It's so good that you can be there for Hunter in these awkward years he is going through now!

You want them to eat at lunch time, but certainly don't want to waste that money and time if they are going to throw it away.

stronghunter said...

Good thought, taking him to the grocery story, Linda.

We were in the grocery store together yesterday, and I suggested some of those dried fruit packages. Nope.

I think he will probably like the carrots with dip, and he said he might like ravioli in a thermos tomorrow.

Kind of got thrown when we learned that he can't take anything with peanuts because of a classmate's allergy.

Linda said...

Shirley - That is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard of. Are they afraid the kid might take Hunter's sandwich and eat it??

Could the smell in the lunch room actually cause an allergic reaction? I doubt it. I can understand not bringing in something for the class that has peanuts in it, but not allowing someone to have something in their own personal lunch is ridiculous.

Anyone allergic to milk in the school? Better do away with that too!!

stronghunter said...

Maybe I can sneak in a couple of pieces of broccoli with the carrots.

stronghunter said...

It's standard procedure, Linda. I am not sure, but kids do swap food sometimes, and peanut allergies can be very serious. I remember seeing a big "peanut allergy" sign on a classroom door at the high school once.

stronghunter said...

I suppose the smell might be a problem, too.

stronghunter said...

One time I was told that I should avoid wearing any kind of perfume because one of my students was allergic.

I didn't have any problem with not wearing perfume, but there was no way I could control all of the students she might come in contact with. Sometimes a kid decides to spray perfume in the classroom. Yuck! But it happens.

This student had to leave school. Sad, but I don't know how to handle this problem in a public school.

stronghunter said...

"Butt calls"--from time to time, Kathryn says I have butt called her.

hedgie said...

Morning all!

Oh-oh....don't get me started on the peanut allergy thing! Suffice it to say that IMHO, if a kid is deathly allergic, then he/she should be home schooled. Period.
I have been denied one of life's pleasures by a major chain bakery because of their stupidity in this arena.

Lori, hope your workday wasn't as bad as you feared. Thinking of you as you plan the departure of the kitties. :( But, yes, knowing they are going to special homes will help.

hedgie said...

Forgot to thank JudyE for letting us know the sad story of K-14. Too, too bad.

Wishing all that are at work at great day on this 1st of Sept. Of course, same goes for all Momsters/Dadsters, regardless of work status! Just easier for us retirees to have a good day!! Just changed my calendar. Don't like knowing that winter is fast approaching.

stronghunter said...

Same here, Lynn. I do not like to see winter coming.

stronghunter said...

But I know Lolly is praying for the end of summer.

GOOD MORNING...

Good news for me, so far, no disappearing hearts!:)
I did everything that NORTON suggested and now my computer seems like it had a tune-up. It said that some of my necessary services were turned off...I don't know how to turn them off, so I don't know how that happened.
Anyhow, so far so good!

Going into town afterwhile to get food supplies from Mountaineer Food Truck. Hope we get some goodies today.
Last delivery, they gave us enough cakes and fudge brownies to use as dessert for two Soup Kitchen meals. They kept very well in the fridge.
Have a great day♥

stronghunter said...

Have any of you checked out the FB feature "You must be from (your hometown) if . . . "?

Interesting.

stronghunter said...

Good to learn that you have fixed your computer problems, Wanda.

Sorry, "You're probably from (your hometown) if . . . "

Good morning! Yes...September...there is hope. I hate August!! It is always so hot and dry, school starts up, and then 5 years ago Mother was sick the entire month of August and then died at the end of the month. I hate August.

Yea! My hubby comes home today! Going to get busy and vacuum and do a little house cleaning, though it really is not bad.

Forcast for next week has highs in the 90's and lows actually in the 60's. Will believe it when I experience it.

Lolly said...

Lori...I do love your avatar!

But, please, no chocolate chip cookies for breakfast. Let's go back to the muffins and fresh fruit....please!☺

Lolly said...

Okay....time to get busy! Have finished my coffee.

Haved a great day...and I will peek back in later.

Wanda, glad you have your hearts back. Now if I could only get my music notes back. Hard to sing with just ♪♪♪ lol ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

stronghunter said...

There is a "your're probably from West Virginia if . . ." Takes a bit of searching to find these links. There is a pretty big one for Fredericksburg.

stronghunter said...

Must get an oil change today.

hedgie said...

Wanda, hope your puter is behaving today!

Getting ready to rain here, I believe. And I was going to try to clean up the truck. :( Not enough room to maneuver in the garage to do it in there.

Good Morning, Everyone!
Don't think I mentioned last night--thanks to JudyE for posting about the loss of K-14. Such a shame! The ocean can be so unforgiving. RIP, K-14.

Lori, prayers that Bobby & Leroy will find the PERFECT forever homes! ((HUGS)) for you--know you'll miss them! Prayers that Andie will decide to trust humans. Don't know how you do it! I'd just have to adopt them ALL! I know I'd just get too attached. Couldn't help myself! You deserve a medal!
Prayers of thanksgiving that Mosai & Tadissa will keep their jobs. Sorry, though, about their new locations.
More ((HUGS))!
Prayers for excellent test results for Kate!

DanaMO, prayers for a good day for you at school!

Margy, hope you have an easy day at work, and a nice visit with James!

Judie, have a great day at the big schoolhouse!

Need to go get some things done around here. Trying to put a dent in the laundry pile. Have loaded & started the dishwasher already, but need to water outside plants & feed the birds. Got some bill payments scheduled online. Right now, need to do a bit more transcription.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! Will check back in later. :o]

Ms Bookworm said...

Wow,Lynn! Rain?! By all means, go back to bed and enjoy listening to it rain!

OK--really gotta go now. Bye until later!

hedgie said...

Storming now....mildly.
MYRTLE came out!!! Came from her usual hiding place under the pallets. Only the 3rd time I've seen her this year. Hurried up and cut her some tomato and she is delighting in it! She came almost all the way to the basement door when I called her...but when I came back with the mater, she started to crawl away....when I laid it down, she came right back and is feasting!

hedgie said...

Andy, don't work too hard!!

Jo, hope the dentist doesn't find any more cavities!

Sure hoping the rain doesn't knock out our cam again.

Some dummy is trying to "fence" brand new railroad materials at a local salvage yard. Guy there is trying to stall him until police arrive. DUH! Like they are stupid enough to think that it is suspicious to scrap new stuff that is obviously railroad property??
So MUCH problem around here with metal theft. In Bill's shopping center, three A/C units have been stolen recently.

SHIRLEY and LINDA, having a SIL who is deathly allergic to nuts, I can assure you it is a serious matter. I have seen Hugh in great distress as he came off an airplane where peanut packets were served. We rushed him to the hotel for a complete change of clothes and a shower--fortunately avoiding hospitalization. Another time he apparently came in contact with some kind of nut transfer on a scoop at the ice cream shop and did wind up in the hospital for that one. He now has to warn airlines of his allergy and they'll gladly agree to hand out pretzels on his flight. Surely you've smelled the peanut "dust" as everyone begins to open the packets. Kids can transfer such things so easlily--if Hunter has a left over smear of peanut butter on his hand and happens to touch that poor kid, it can be disasterous. There are now thousands of documented cases of such extreme allergies. I shudder to think of how many people were lost before this malady was well understood.
