Really, it was silly how excited I was that it's finally flying. I was just as excited to see that he was not still sitting on top of the barn at sunset, so I'm guessing he was able to fly back down to the ground. I didn't see any parent's helping him. Vulture parents are not nearly as involved as eagle parents seem to be. :)

Been working outside, mostly on the deck...was 69°, perfect for working outdoors. Up to 75°. going to be 82°...nice weather all day. Good evening for dinner outside. Now what can I ask the good Capt. to fix? Hmmm? He is working today for Arnie, once again. He has been working every Monday and Thursday since the heart surgery. He is doing well, but, it will be a while before he can go back to work.
I want to read The Help and see the movie, too....but since I am always disappointed in a movie after I've read the book, I plan to see the movie first this time!! There is already Oscar buzz!

Awful story for you---BEWARE! Bill found ut that SOMEONE stole his Mom's identity and filed her income tax return (deceased) and it wasn't him! He hadn't gotten her refund...and when he questioned it, learned her filing had been rejected because someone else had already claimed her. Can you believe it?? So now he has to get documentation from the court showing that he is the executor of her estate, copy of death certificate, and some other stuff so the tax attorney can give it all to the IRS before they will open an investigation. They said it happens a LOT---obit trolls, clerks in places with access to SS #'s (Drs. offices, DMV, etc.), or "other" family members......how sick is that?

Very sad news out of Canada today. The Leader of Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition, Jack Layton, died of cancer this morning at 4:40 AM. He died at home surrounded by his wife and children. We are a poorer nation with his departure. May he rest in peace.
HODA, when did they release the news about Mr. Layton? I didn't see it before I left work this morning. It is terribly sad, so you and the many people he spent his life serving.

Helloooo ! I'm pleased to be back and happy to report an absolutely glorious few days of reuning with the kids and grands ! My face kind of hurts from smiling and laughing non-stop. ☺ Most activities centered at Julie's and around the pool, but enjoyed a couple of wonderful meals out and the newly renovated Columbus Museum of Art. I have my house back in order and the laundry all done, etc. You can't even tell they were here, sniff, sniff ! I've read this "page" only and it's answered some of my questions, but raised many others, so I'm going to spend some time trolling for info on what you've all been up to for the last few days.
LYNN, the Help was the best read of 2011,so far, in my opinion ! Looking forward to seeing the movie, but can't imagine it being better than the book. Yikes, identity theft--what a nightmare ! We seem to have so little defense against it. GRrrrrrr.

LYNN, no Squadron this time. Columbus has an amazing number of very good eateries---much like that of cities far larger and more cosmopolitan. We honored Max by going to an East Indian place with mouth watering good food. He spent this past Winter quarter in northwest India and loved the food. For Sunday lunch we converged on North Market where each person could dine on the ethnic food of their choice. It's a bit smaller, but very much like Reading Market in Philly. The last of the departing Mohicans was son, Lee, and grandson, Cooper who headed for Pittsburgh after a good hearty breakfast here at my place. Lee had to go through there to schmooz up a Rutger's alumni "beeg" donor. Gotta keep that money flowing into the department.☺ From there they head further into PA with stops at Gettysburg, Valley Forge and at some natural, outdoor rock climbing/bouldering area. Cooper is a national champion in the 15-18 age group in that sport. Kind of a scary, nail biting thing for parents and grandparents to observe. Then they'll head for their NJ home Tuesday night or Wednesday.
Oh, phooey, LOLLY, you didn't mean dessert ? I was going to ask for the recipe. LOL We have some dead trees on this condo property that should be cut down. Soon, "they" say. Arrrggghh. Soon takes a long time in coming for these folks !
LYNN, sure hope that water line to the hot water tank leak isn't serious and that you'll someone in to paint the foundation. I know most of us think the painter you had should come in and make his work right, but understand if you don't want him and his crew back on the property. I decided I need another computer or lap top I just made the live cam full screen and I love it that would be too cool to have a laptop and use my desktop in full screen that way I can blog from my rocking chair I bought a thingy at a second hand store it looks like its a thing for either a book and I think a lap top could sit on it OK I took a picture of it and I am using Jordyn lap top to demonstrate LOL
Kay, I talked to SIL's bro---he's going to try to be here Weds. to pain the foundation, clean up the windows, AND trim out along th eroad where I can't take the mower. SIL will get a load of mulch to replace what is ruined----I'll rake it up tomorrow. And he's going to get some gravel to spread on one side of the garage where it was not set squarely on the gravel pad---hence causing mud to splash up on the wood....don't want that happening now that it's all cleaned and treated.
I tried one of those for when I'm in my recliner. Won't fit grrr I still haven't found anything that will fit. The couch has a bar that is in front. You can't see it but tables and anyting I've tried to hold the laptop won't work. Everything is too high to go under bar.

LYNN, Speaker of the House, Majority Leader are from the same party as the Government. Minority leader is the opposition. Jack Layton was the leader of the Opposition. The ones trusted to keep the government in check. We have three to four partys in the Parlaiment. So it is not exactly like the Minority Leader in the US system. If the opposition unites against the government they could conceivably bring the governement down. He was a good and honest politician and supported the average Canadian and defended our pension plans and old age security cheques. He spoke up for our health care system and he defended the environment.Who will fill his shoes...hard to imagine.It is sudden because his new bout with cancer was for less than a month from the time we heard about it. We do not know what kind of cancer it was. He survived prostate cancer and was given a clean bill of health over a year ago...

Bill found ut that SOMEONE stole his Mom's identity and filed her income tax return (deceased) and it wasn't him! He hadn't gotten her refund...and when he questioned it, learned her filing had been rejected because someone else had already claimed her. Can you believe it?? So now he has to get documentation from the court showing that he is the executor of her estate, copy of death certificate, and some other stuff so the tax attorney can give it all to the IRS before they will open an investigation. They said it happens a LOT---obit trolls, clerks in places with access to SS #'s (Drs. offices, DMV, etc.), or "other" family members......how sick is that?

Very sad news out of Canada today. The Leader of Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition, Jack Layton, died of cancer this morning at 4:40 AM. He died at home surrounded by his wife and children. We are a poorer nation with his departure. May he rest in peace.

Helloooo ! I'm pleased to be back and happy to report an absolutely glorious few days of reuning with the kids and grands ! My face kind of hurts from smiling and laughing non-stop. ☺ Most activities centered at Julie's and around the pool, but enjoyed a couple of wonderful meals out and the newly renovated Columbus Museum of Art. I have my house back in order and the laundry all done, etc. You can't even tell they were here, sniff, sniff ! I've read this "page" only and it's answered some of my questions, but raised many others, so I'm going to spend some time trolling for info on what you've all been up to for the last few days.
Welcome back KAY. I am glad you had a GREAT time.

LYNN, the Help was the best read of 2011,so far, in my opinion ! Looking forward to seeing the movie, but can't imagine it being better than the book. Yikes, identity theft--what a nightmare ! We seem to have so little defense against it. GRrrrrrr.

LYNN, no Squadron this time. Columbus has an amazing number of very good eateries---much like that of cities far larger and more cosmopolitan. We honored Max by going to an East Indian place with mouth watering good food. He spent this past Winter quarter in northwest India and loved the food. For Sunday lunch we converged on North Market where each person could dine on the ethnic food of their choice. It's a bit smaller, but very much like Reading Market in Philly. The last of the departing Mohicans was son, Lee, and grandson, Cooper who headed for Pittsburgh after a good hearty breakfast here at my place. Lee had to go through there to schmooz up a Rutger's alumni "beeg" donor. Gotta keep that money flowing into the department.☺ From there they head further into PA with stops at Gettysburg, Valley Forge and at some natural, outdoor rock climbing/bouldering area. Cooper is a national champion in the 15-18 age group in that sport. Kind of a scary, nail biting thing for parents and grandparents to observe. Then they'll head for their NJ home Tuesday night or Wednesday.
Oh, phooey, LOLLY, you didn't mean dessert ? I was going to ask for the recipe. LOL We have some dead trees on this condo property that should be cut down. Soon, "they" say. Arrrggghh. Soon takes a long time in coming for these folks !

I know most of us think the painter you had should come in and make his work right, but understand if you don't want him and his crew back on the property. It's unreal how such tradesmen don't connect good service and top notch work with the word of mouth referrals they need so much !

I decided I need another computer or lap top I just made the live cam full screen and I love it that would be too cool to have a laptop and use my desktop in full screen that way I can blog from my rocking chair I bought a thingy at a second hand store it looks like its a thing for either a book and I think a lap top could sit on it OK I took a picture of it and I am using Jordyn lap top to demonstrate LOL

Kay, I talked to SIL's bro---he's going to try to be here Weds. to pain the foundation, clean up the windows, AND trim out along th eroad where I can't take the mower.
SIL will get a load of mulch to replace what is ruined----I'll rake it up tomorrow. And he's going to get some gravel to spread on one side of the garage where it was not set squarely on the gravel pad---hence causing mud to splash up on the wood....don't want that happening now that it's all cleaned and treated.

LYNN, Speaker of the House, Majority Leader are from the same party as the Government. Minority leader is the opposition. Jack Layton was the leader of the Opposition. The ones trusted to keep the government in check. We have three to four partys in the Parlaiment. So it is not exactly like the Minority Leader in the US system. If the opposition unites against the government they could conceivably bring the governement down.
He was a good and honest politician and supported the average Canadian and defended our pension plans and old age security cheques. He spoke up for our health care system and he defended the environment.Who will fill his shoes...hard to imagine.It is sudden because his new bout with cancer was for less than a month from the time we heard about it. We do not know what kind of cancer it was. He survived prostate cancer and was given a clean bill of health over a year ago...
Have just posted on family pics blog a picture of my nephew, Blaine, with Jana and new son, Reece. Someone gave them teeny scrubs to match his Daddy's. LOL Jana and Blaine are both chiropractors and have their own clinic. Voted best chiropractors in McAllen.☺

I'll have to turn off the TV, as I actually read a book when it was out!!!! Was nice and quiet then until Fubby cranked up stereo! LOL

Nature nut-I am excited, but my son will not be coming home on the weekends. We live 7 hours from University of Dayton. There is no coming home except on extended breaks and weekends.
