Good Morning every one. MARGY , yes I had a wonderful night's sleep and I do feel refreshed. Thanks for your comment.

WANDA I was a bit surprised by the information on Nevaeh's parents...did they know they were brother and sister? Are they raising her? No offence intended was just surprised and I thought I
would ask. I love it that GG likes her chatter and that she laughs and they seem to be connected.

Supposed to go up to 90 today and I read LOLLY's words and I won't complain about it even though I started off wanting to complain.LOL...in the winter I will be wishing for warmer weather.

I'll go get ready for yoga and my grocery trip...BBL
HAGD...

stronghunter said...

Hoda, I don't think Nevaeh's parents are brother and sister. As I recall, her mother is the sister of Jayden's father. I had to read the post twice myself, but that's what I got.

hedgie said...

Saw the posts about gas-----right, most men never outgrow the need to make it a big issue. Christie relates that Shannon and his fellow firefighter's use it and brag about it as their amusement on station all the time. UGH!

stronghunter said...

Lynn, it was a small green spot south of the city that went away. I looked again and saw a storm north of the city. Hope you got some helpful rain.

stronghunter said...

Yeah, Lynn. You have to think about who designed the program for the phone farts to begin with. I am guessing it was not a 13-year-old boy nor any female.

stronghunter said...

The key word there is "most," Lynn. I sincerely hope there are some exceptions.

Hoda said...

Thanks SHIRLEY for the correction on Nevaeh parents. I stand corrected. Your understanding makes more sense ot me...

From the globe on the side of the blog, I saw someone from Indonesia on our blog...Cool...

Off to yoga. BBL HAGD

hedgie said...

LOL--Shirley. I was blessed that Bill was in the minority, but EX was one of the worst offenders. It was awful.....and intentional. Should have used that as part of my divorce complaint, huh??!!
And right---no 13 y.o. designed that program!

No--rain was not a beneficial one---maybe 100 drops!!!

Hoda, enjoy your warm day while you can....they will end all too soon. I dread winter. :(

Guess Jim got lost in the split! Hi, Westerner!!

Well, time for me to close up shop and finish getting ready for meeting. I am the leader this month, and have to take the minutes---not easy as I don't know shorthand!

See you all this evening!!!

stronghunter said...

Just don't want Hunter to hear the phone farts.

stronghunter said...

Hope your meeting goes well, Lynn.

stronghunter said...

Must vacuum the family room. Dog hair, cat hair, who knows what else?

T-Bird said...

bakatcha Magpie-I will pass it along.

What is for lunch?

T-Bird said...

Well I'm off to find out. : )

Happy Sunday to Everyone!!!
Hope we don't get monsoons again! See some of you already have had sprinkles. It's very nice here now, but Fubby saw we might be getting a whopper around 3 PM.I'll take my flower pot off the railing!!☺
Saw Wanda's lovely picture of Neveah. When I clicked on it, could just make out that it said Jayden's cousin.
Have not heard from Jeanne yet, so am emailing our other buds.I told her we had no internet until TH or FRI.

stronghunter said...

Just got a severe thunderstorm watch alarm. It looks like it could happen out there. Very humid. Clouds forming.

However, I think Kathryn and Hunter had good beach weather.

stronghunter said...

I always prefer summer, too, Lynn.

DanaMo said...

Well the tears started this morning and I haven't even gotten my son yet. Welcome Mass this morning at the arena, and I'm sad Aric isn't here. They gave a blessing for new student's but I guess I have to remember that Aric got a blessing from the Pope.

DanaMo said...

Had a strong downpour here in Dayton! Thunder, lightening, hail...the works!

Lolly said...

Good grief! Every time I get on someone is talking about rain! Excuse me while I scream!

Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Better yet!

Lolly said...

Just got home from church. Went out and watered a few patches of lawn by hand, but could not stay out long. Now need to get busy and mop a floor or two. Jack vacuumed for me. He does every week. Bless him!

DanaMo said...

Oh Lolly, sorry I know you really need the rain!

Lolly said...

That's okay, Dana. I know you are just commenting on your weather. Have changed my avatar! Maybe this will work. ☺

DanaMo said...

I need a snack! I want something, but I don't know what I want.

I love spending time with my husband, but I am already getting bored in the hotels! Can't come home until Friday :( What a mix of emotions. I can't wait to see Aric, but I can't wait to go home. I guess I miss the kids, the dogs and the house! LOL! Strange, right?

Lolly said...

Hotel rooms are the pits! Hope you have a good book!

stronghunter said...

Like your new avatar, Lolly. If only that will work.

Lolly said...

Well, Shirley, each time I get on, I will be saying a prayer!☺

stronghunter said...

We are about to get a big storm. I hope Kathryn and Hunter aren't going to get caught in it. They should be on the way home about now.

stronghunter said...

Yes, we are about to get rain, Lolly, but it might be bad.

stronghunter said...

Called Kathryn. They are near Tappahannock, about an hour and a half away from here. I expect they will get the storm too. She said they already went through one bad one.

Lolly said...

Right now I would welcome a hurricane!!!

stronghunter said...

I understand, Lolly. A weak hurricane would be nice.

Some of their songs gives me cold chills!

Hoda said...

DANA why was ARIC not at Mass today? Is he already on his way home?

JUDYE thanks for the link on K04. I am glad they identified her, I hope they can fix her wing.

LOLLY your avatar says it all...Hang in there...and TEXAS needs RAIN...I join in this prayer.

Safe travels to Kathryn and Hunter. May the storms abate from their path.

I shake my head at your neighbours who have the sprinklers on timers even during rainy season...I think of the conversation we all had about water bills...
TS is Tornado Season am I right? You mentioned it in your post.

Hoda said...

SHIRLEY and JUDYE , I guess with the drug Ecstacy the key thing is the dosage and making sure they do not have it become a trip on its own...they spoke of dosage and that is what will turn it from bad to good...

JudyEddy said...

HODA TS is for Tropical Storm before they turn in to a Hurricane

Hoda said...

Tropical Storm, got it...Tornado did not sound right to me either LOL...I hope the rain from the Tropical Storms heads to LOLLY'S TEXAS.

I hear there are protestors infront of the White House trying to get the Alberta Tar sands oil pipeline project cancelled by the President...Environmental disaster is the fear since it is supposed to go all the way to Texas' refineries.I have major concerns about Alberta's Tar sands oil...not environmentally friendly in the province itself.

stronghunter said...

It would be a blessing for Texas if the storm brings rain without the damage they sometimes do.

Good evening, dear friends.
Been home a while, but caught up in phone calls. Found when I got here that I have a plumbing leak in water line going to hot water heater. Still waiting for a call back from my favorite plumber.....fingers crossed that he is still in business. He has successfully fought two major CA battles...and was still going strong last fall at 72!! He's a retired pipefitter (plumber) from work, and one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet!

hedgie said...

Need to catch up with you all---and work on typing up meeting minutes!

stronghunter said...

Hope you get hold of the plumber friend and get the problem fixed quickly, Lynn.

Sky has that eerie pinkness to it.....wind is picking up and I hear thunder; we are still under a severe weather alert (since noon) and nothing has happened yet.

DanaMo---you are having such mixed emotions---and that is natural. Will Aric fly straight into Dayton Fri.? These may be 5 of the longest days of your life!!! Have you gotten his dorm room all set up yet?

hedgie said...

Good report on Avalon, JudyE!

hedgie said...

Hoda, Avalon has already been rehabbed as much as possible. She is not releasable.....she will be staying in the Ventura, CA Resident Rapture program.

Hope that Lynne and Steve are home and not traveling in a storm again this weekend.

Congrats Hoda on the Nelson Team, I cannot open links tonight 'cause Dinosaur is picky and I don't want to stress him out, maybe Monday!

Sounds nice, Lolly, your afternoon except for the Crown problem, shucks and darn it !

Evening all! Back from another productive weekend of work, food, and fun! (and no traffic on the way home, and no weather drama!)If all goes well, the house should be on the market in the next couple of weeks! We won't be going next weekend, and while I have had the BEST TIME EVER spending these weekends at my in-laws, it's going to be nice to sleep in a bit on Saturday morning! They are actually coming down to Baltimore this coming weekend for MIL's best friend's B'day and we'll be hooking up for dinner with everyone.

I hope everyone is well and had a good weekend! I have not read back yet. I've got to work tomorrow so may not get much of a chance to do so.

Daisy calmed down a bit about the horses next door and she actually got to sniff one!

One bad note....my beloved camera is broken. It was working last weekend, but I had taken some pictures of the clouds on the way home last weekend that didn't turn out. I attributed it to being in a moving car with dirty windows. But when I tried to take some pictures this weekend, it just didn't work. I am so sad about this....

I dropped mine a few months ago and the top was a bit askew but it kept on working. I think I dropped it again last week at work.....UGH.

I need to go get a shower, no storms in the immediate area, but close enough that they could drift our way.

My in laws had a terrible storm the other night and "lightning was in the house". My FIL was coming down the steps when a blinding flash went right in front of him. At the same time, my MIL was walking the 10 feet from the garage door to the house door when the same thing happened to her. She thought she was struck! The stike must have hit the house or the yard close by.....thank God they are OK!

Lynne2 said...

Judie had a butterfly tagging today right? And Lori's mom was to be in town. DanaMo is traveling as was Paula to the beach...can't remember who else was doing what! But I hope everyone had a fun and safe time.

Laurel and the boys start school in the morning. Hope all goes well. We did have a bit of drama Friday night. We went to the cafeteria to see the lists to find out what room the boys were in. Their names were not on any list. To the office we went. Laurel knows the principal. She told Laurel she had received a phone call saying the boys were transferring. NO WAY! Laurel went to their school and registered them a couple weeks ago. (Talked with the principal at that time. Duh!!) Filled out tons of paper work. The boys were promptly put on a class list. That was all the teachers needed...another name on the list that they were not prepared for. Boys were not upset, but Laurel did not need the drama after working all day in her room. Bless her!!!

hedgie said...

Welcome Home LYNNE and STEVE. I am glad you made a good trip.Sorry about the camera.
Sad that AVALON the eagle could not be released into the wild, I read that she would probably be a demonstration eagle...Amazing she flew from California to Washington DC.
MARGY I understand about not pushing the computer's limits.
LYNN I hope you get the good plumber to come out...
I just spent an hour and a half talking to Samia, my sister in Egypt, on Skype. It is amazing that it costs nothing. She is worried about the border disturbance between Egypt and Isreal last week. Where will it all go???She and I want the peace treaty between the two countries to continue to be respected.Anxious times.

Lolly said...

Think really positive, Margy, about the children starting school. Some with now have AC that did not have it at home, they will also be getting breakfast and a good lunch supervision as well as an education. School is a great place and most teachers are there for them. Most teachers really care!!! And, I do say most. There is the exception but having been there, done that...most really really care. Most are Christians and will tend the children well.

Lolly said...

will not with

hedgie said...

JudyE---cannabis DOES help with those things, too!!!! But there are plenty of other legal drugs that do a fine job for them!!! The mary jane supposedly is better for cancer pain and multiple sclerosis pain.

happy you had that time with Samia on Skype....so cool !

JudyE - sounds like you really like your camera, and what a friendly price!

Good Night Eagle Pals, make that

Hope to read soon that Paula and Nick, and Shirley's family have returned to their roosts...

Hoda, luv your Dragon boats. Great win!
Welcome home, Lynne. So sorry about your camera. I thought maybe it was something simple like Full memory card, but dropping might not be too good. :>(

Yes, Hoda, someone goofed big time. I think the principal was trying to cover her goof! She is as ADHD as any adult ever could be!

Judie said...

Late evening already! Gosh the time flies.

The butterfly tagging program was really educational and fun. I didn't actually tag but Darth did because he was asked to. I preferred to let the children have the experience. Just finished the tagging and release when a fierce rain storm arrived.

It has been a long day. Pain has been unusually intense. I have requested the sandperson arrive quickly.

The night light is on for anyone who may need to arise in the darkness and for anyone arriving late from the West coast. Restful sleep for all.

Hope everyone had a wonderful day.

hedgie said...

hedgie said...

Oh, no, Hoda!!! It wasn't Washington, DC!!! It was Washington state where Avalon had gone!!!

Lolly, principal probably saw LAUREL's name on a transfer list!!!
Duh!!! Glad it 's all straightened out!

Margy---talk about weary g'parent's, etc.: Musselman HS was the only school that didn't issue a supply list. I worked off the HHS list for Jess! What a PIA it is trying to get kids ready nowadays. There is no such thing as a free education anymore. It's very unfair to the working poor. For my two, it cost me $92 for the required items....and then individual teachers always add more after school starts.

Lolly said...

Laurel bought the boys supplies at the school....neatly packaged together but heavy to haul to school Friday evening. Oh, yes, she bought the supplies when she registered them!

Lynn, I bet the principal was only half ( if that!) listening when she talked with Laurel at registration. Laurel probably told her she was transerring and that was what she heard. But, what happened to all the paper work Laurel filled out??? LOL Laurel said she was NOT going to fill it out again!

Hoda said...

The State of Washington is a bit more reasonable distance wise for Avalon to have travelled LYNN. Thanks for the correction.

Do schools in the USA start on Monday or Tuesday? Our kids do not go back till after Labour Day. Of course you guys get out way before us in June too.

Lolly said...

Wish you could have seen my Joseph Friday night. He is growing up! He was visiting with other kids. He is very popular with the girls. Laurel and I were watching him and Laurel is NOT ready for this!

He does not need it yet, but he wants to start using deodorant. So, Laurel got him some and he wanted some cologne, too. Uh oh!
5th grade!!!

Lynne2 said...

well, got my shower just in time, we are having a pretty bad storm. Going to shut it down for the night....Love you guys, hope I can catch up soon, but in the mean time, goodnight and prayers for all!

magpie said...

Hoda - different dates for different areas, these counties here in WV start Aug 22
Maryland kids go back Aug 24 or 25
Florida has already started
Massachusetts kids start next week

depends on a number of factors, so it's all ajumble
hope that helps!

Lolly said...

It should be after Labor Day, Hoda. It is just so hot. The young children need a break to go outside and they can not go out. Too hot!

It is up to the individual school districts as to when school starts. Laurel and the boys start tomorrow, but where I live, they start Tuesday.

hedgie said...

Hoping I don't have to turn off that water line---afraid that if I do it as a precaution, turning it back on could cause a surge that would blow the line! BUT---I just checked it and it hasn't leaked any more since I wiped it dry....go figure! WILL keep a close eye on it for sure.

Hi,

Kathryn and Hunter got back to the house around 5:00. They called from the grocery store. I was just about to go pick up something for dinner, so they bought some shrimp and got it cooked there--it was on sale. We had shrimp, salad and mac and cheese.

We've been watching a movie.

They did hit a couple of storms on the way home.

hedgie said...

Storm never developed. So glad! Have one patch of grass about 20x30' that I want to get mowed tomorrow.

stronghunter said...

Hunter's school starts on Wednesday. He and Kathryn go in to meet the teacher tomorrow morning. I think the time is from 11:00-12:00.

I believe there are some schools that do not start until after Labor Day. For awhile, there was a law in Virginia stating that schools could not start before Labor Day.

It was called the King's Dominion Law and was enacted so that the theme parks, etc., could have teenagers to work at their establishments until Labor Day.

Some schools, including Culpeper, requested permission to start earlier after we had some really bad winters with lots of snow. I don't know if the law is still on the books now.

stronghunter said...

Hunter seems to really like his new clothes. He is hard to figure. Sometimes he can be very negative.

PA Nana said...

Good evening.

Just stopping by to wish all the students and teachers a good school year.

paula eagleholic said...

Evening, all!

Home safe a sound..couple of slow downs but not too bad.

Had a great weekend at the beach, Brother, 2 nephews and their friend came down...place looked like a tornado hit on the inside with 3 teen boys in the house...but they had a great time...appreciated being fed and being able to walk out on the beach to fish...didn't catch much, but they still had fun.

Not caught up here at all, please let me know if I missed anything important.

paula eagleholic said...

Ran into some rain on the way home...and it rained here before I got home as well, streets are all foggy ☺

PA Nana said...

Shirley, do you feel retired yet?

Not sure when the schools here begin but know each district has their own starting date.

Lynne, so sorry about the loss of your camera. I, too, looked forward to your pix.

Not staying, but wish everyone a blessed and restful sleep.

God bless all my feather & fur friends.

paula eagleholic said...

Did Lori's Mom and Niece get to visit?

PA Nana said...

P.S. Wanda, a cute baby avatar.

I have a great-grand niece (? my niece's granddaughter) named Nevaeh. Never heard that name before but it grows on you.

stronghunter said...

So sorry about your cam, Lynne.

Hope you are pain-free tomorrow, Judie.

Margy, how kind and considerate your James is.

Best wishes for a good week for Laurel and the boys, Lolly.

paula eagleholic said...

Hoda, the dragon boat team did great! Your lake even has a beachy area! Nice!

Lynne, sorry about the camera....one work...ebay!

Dana, mass with the Pope for Aric...something he will always remember for sure! Hope you and hubby are having a good time and everything is good at home!

K04, aka Avalon, is at the Ojai Raptor center in Ojai, CA.

Lolly, glad everything is straightened out for the boys....still praying for rain for TX...

stronghunter said...

It is beginning to sink in now. I am not going back.

I have had some interruptions in my teaching over the years. I remember sitting in my rocking chair with Rus when he was a baby and happily watching the school bus go by.

stronghunter said...

So nice that you could provide a nice weekend for the gang, Paula.

stronghunter said...

I don't think we have heard from Lori, Paula.

Hoda said...

PAULA The last we heard LORI's MOM was going to get a swelling on her leg checked. I have not seen any posts about the visit from LORI. We are all hoping that all went well.

stronghunter said...

Time for me to head upstairs. I will see you all tomorrow. Good night, everyone.

Lolly said...

Glad you had a good weekend, Paula. Did you get work done on the house?

Nevaeh...is it pronounced Na.va. Long a? Had a good friend named Navae. She is in heaven now. ☺

paula eagleholic said...

Thanks for the update, hope Lori checks in tomorrow!

Lolly, my brother did some work while he was down for the week, one of which was painting the bedroom and bathroom doors...so I finished touching them up, and then we took them down and put new hinges on 4 doors...they are stainless, which matches the new door knobs....more work than I anticipated, but they are now done and look good. I still have more hinges to go...maybe next weekend ☺

paula eagleholic said...

Nick is TOTALLY worn out...walked up the beach after breakfast this morning, and he and Gracie (the dingo dog, LOL) ran and played for about 1/2 hour, up and down the beach and in and out of the water.

Oh, and the osprey chick fledged that weekend that I didn't get down in July...the chick is doing good...think both parents and the chick flew over us while the dogs were playing. I was telling Tim (the guy who puts the nest up and down), the subtle differences between the adult and the chicks.

hedgie said...

No idea, Lolly....I was thinking maybe Na-va(long a)-ah(short a).....Wanda will tell us!

Paula, sounds like a great weekend!!

Sounds like Gaddafi has been ousted.....MTBR.

paula eagleholic said...

Shirley, glad you are now realizing you are retired!! School in Frederick County starts...hmmm I don't know when, can't get into their website!

We had another nice visit with GG after church, today. She was out front, dead-heading her flowers...bending and stooping and no cane or walker!

We had another terrific donation for the Clothes Closet & Boutique, today. Beautiful women's clothes and lingerie, many bars of soap, razors (disposable) lotion, etc.
Children's clothing and undies, children's books, games, stuffed animals, helmets, chin guards, knee pads, etc. Can't tell you how happy this makes me.
We have Soup Kitchen this Tuesday...Spaghetti on the menu.

NEVAEH...pronounced with a LONG A.

JUDIE, how do they tag a butterfly? Hope Darth didn't pull off any wings:) Tee Hee

I want to see the movie "The Help", it looks like a fun movie...my favorite kind.

Way past my bedtime...
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SLEEP WELL
PRAYERS FOR ALL

I, too, hope that LORI checks in with us in the morning. Pray that her mother is alright!
Need to know that LINDA is OK, also!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,
Boy, it has taken me forever to get caught up! Didn't make it here last night--fell asleep watching TV.

I'm up, waiting for Jay and 2 of her friends to get back from Disneyland. Her other Grandma worked there for 40-some years, and was able to donate 3 free passes so the kids could go. It's outrageously expensive to get in there now, I think almost $140 per adult, and that is just for one park!
Ridiculous. I bet Walt Disney is spinning in his grave.

We took Jay out to brunch, and Emma to the dog park today. Great fun was had by all! Some of Emma's good buddies were at the park: Sophia the Italian Greyhound, Ella the black Pug, Happy the Beagle, Daisy the Schnauzer, and a cute little 4-mo.-old Shar Pei pup named Mona.

Last night Jay did a couple of small tattoos at the shop in Los Angeles, and they liked her work. They've invited her to come back every 3 months for guest appearances! We are going to get to see her MUCH more often now!

Well, I guess I'd better say goodnight. My eyes don't quite want to focus on what I'm typing!
Saying prayers for everyone, especially for Diann & family, who lost a dog (hope I got that right).
(((HUGS)))!!! Prayers too, for Lynn's leaky pipe situation, and for Lori and her Mom & Dad. Hope her Mom is OK!
I'm making sure the porch light is on, and enabling both security systems. Sweet dreams, everyone!
God bless, and goodnight. Love all of you! :o]

Yeah HODA - congrats to everyone on the Kootenay Team! Thanks for your work volunteering to help make it all work!

JUDY E - Gracias Seniorita for the link on K04 from Avalon! Those eaglets have had a tough year. I remember that one of the girls from the West End Nest last year was found washed up on the beach earlier this year. So Happy K04 will have a good home and a career ahead of her.

DanaMo said...

Good morning Lori, how is your mom?

Lori O. said...

Thanks everyone for the good thoughts for my weekend with Mom and niece Kilee. Mom had her leg checked Friday morning and the doctor said the lump under the incision is just blood...no big deal. Use hot compresses and it will go away eventually.

On our way to pick her up - we met them off highway 75 in PA...I knew I was really close to a few Momsters but couldn't remember who but I remember the name Mercersville. I was so excited! Next time we meet up that way, we're having a Momster lunch meeting, too! DIANN, LINDA are you two out that way?

Lori O. said...

Hi Dana - are you not sleeping again because you're not home?

Lori O. said...

Mom is great! I'm exhausted! Spent all day Saturday back to school shopping for clothes and school supplies for Kilee - but that was soooo fun! So fun to spoil them! And she's a darling kid.

DanaMo said...

I find back to school shopping fun too! How hold is Kilee? She is probably more fun than my kids are now. They are just getting too old.

I'm already growing weary of the hotel thing and I've got the rest of the week to stick it out. The only bright side is that on Friday I will get to meet Kay on our way home.

Lori O. said...

Oh please, DANA, you must give KAY a hug for me. You guys will have such a great time.

I'm sorry you've got a long week in a hotel...have you gone online to see what there is to do there, shopping, museums, attractions, shopping, outlets, malls, water parks, etc?

I'm not good at this...He has customers to see during the day so I am going to be holed up in the hotel with no car. I'm just going to have to tough it out and hit the ground running when I get home because we start school on Monday.

Prayers for everything to go well this week, there and at home

DanaMo said...

I'm trying but really frustrated. I feel like I should be home getting ready for school. Plus I just realized that the sign ups for MSDE (continuing ed classes) is due on Friday and I am in need of classes for my certification. I can't get to my file and I can't sign up myself so now I really feel tense. I am hoping that my classroom aide is willing to look up the information from my file, contact me, and then fill out the paperwork to give to my principal. Then I have to hope that the class isn't full, because non public school teachers get the boot first if they are filled.

magpie said...

oh dear DanaMo..
well, try to stay optimistic about that, am sure your Aide will help you out, get on the phone soon as you think it's a decent hour to call her!
Hey, any churches close to the hotel? Maybe a little visit will bring some calm

Good morning,

Kathryn decided to sleep in this morning instead of going to work before taking Hunter in to meet his teacher. She was going to go to work, come back, and then go again. It is about 30 miles one way.

The remaining vulture chick is branching or barning...since he's been a ground dweller there's no branching yet, but I guess he's been doing some wingersizing.

I was looking out the big window yesterday and WOW, the vulture chick was sitting ON TOP OF THE BARN that he usually resides inside of!!! I was so excited that he's now able to get airborn and better protect himself. Isn't that cool? Yeah, BV Chickey!
