Hi Judy
there was so much football fun going on lat night, I didn't see a mention of Nest watching last night...
Good Morning!
Rather overcast here this morning

but I'm waiting and hoping the Eagles will stop by

magpie said...

I did just hear a train though a few mins ago

no meteor sighting here...too many clouds

magpie said...

I like your new avatar by the way,
Jordyn at your computer station !

JudyEddy said...

Hey back at ya Margy Thanks for the compliment on my avatar I am a little partial to it LOL

JudyEddy said...

My coffee taste like crap this am for some reason when it made didn't' get all the coffee wet in the basket and its so weak I wonder why I open up the basket and half is dry that has never happened before

Lori O. said...

Good Morning JUDYE and MARGY!

I'm so happy to wake up and see you here...bummed there's not eagles in the nest yet, but I guess they still have plenty of time.

JudyEddy said...

and a big sugar clump is still in it Ya see I put the coffee and sugar in the basket that way each cup taste the same BUT this am it is just week and not sweet Ya gotta have Hazel nut sweet don't like it without sugar

Lori O. said...

Have to think of a good avatar for today... bbiam.

JudyEddy said...

Good morning LORI looks like the weather at the nest is just as hot as we are I peaked at the temp on the site and they say it in the 80° also 83 We are the same 83

magpie said...

Interesting, Judy, how you fix your coffee...that is pretty novel!
Yah, hate it when it does not brew just right!

Good Morning GLori
was going to post that we would not hear your beautiful voice on the radio this morning, but HERE you are regardless !!

I have a black vulture that roosts in a tree not too far from the office !

magpie said...

wow
my live feed made it to 16:16 before it stopped
things still running slowly here with blog and live feed
Once a dinosaur, always a Dinosaur I guess, more or less, on some things

JudyEddy said...

I probably need to clean the post maybe the water spray thingy is plugged up colors on nest and no eagles

magpie said...

Was that weird!
Color, then no color !
and now color again

JudyEddy said...

That was odd the colors came and then they went away and then back again ODD

magpie said...

have you ever noticed it seems the cam makes a little noise when the color comes on?
Funny we saw the same weird thing, Judy....from so many miles apart ☺

JudyEddy said...

So glad you saw it also with the on and off colors Like it changed its mind LOL

JudyEddy said...

Its not very colorful either dull green at nest

Lori O. said...

JudyEddy said...

Ok I'm going over to the rocking chair looks like no visit Darn eagles anyway

Lori O. said...

Today's avatar is HUNTER!

It's HUNTER because he is the REDSKIN'S good luck charm!

The Skins did so poorly last year and playing a team last night that did so well last year .... Hunter goes to see his first NFL game ever, and the REDSKINS WIN! Unbelievable!

Thank you HUNTER! Thank you KATHRYN for letting him be there! Thank you RUSS for taking our new Redskins good luck charm!

magpie said...

hate it when I do that...
hit the refresh button for the cam instead of the blog!

Lori O. said...

Maybe we could send HUNTER to the nest and we would get lucky with a visit from Belle & Truder. lol

magpie said...

Good thinking, Lori!
and nice avatar...

It's quite gray in the sky this morning, accounts for muted colors at the nest I guess
oh cool
a squirrel
but I would say that means no Eagles nearby - or else he is not paying attention to his life !

Lori O. said...

LYNN, that was a great point you made, that a kid's team should win when he/she gets to go to watch them in person for the first time.

All of you ladies were on it last night with the football play by play and celebrations...sorry DIANN and LYNNE.

magpie said...

he just ootched over
the 11 o'clock spot
nice sized squirrel!

Lori O. said...

I'll go grab the nest weather since it will play a big part in whether they show up or not tonight and tomorrow. Then again Truder has been known to show up pretty scraggly looking from being wet, so who knows?

magpie said...

would be something to see an Eagle pluck a squirrel right out of the nest....

magpie said...

Two O's at BWO
colors look nice there!

magpie said...

they are invisible now!

Lori O. said...

Here is the generalized HAZARDOUS WEATHER POSSIBLE statement.

HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS BEGINNING OVERNIGHT MAY BRING
HEAVY RAIN AND LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING WEST OF THE BLUE RIDGE.

SUNDAY: LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING IS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE OUTLOOK AREA ON
SUNDAY. ISOLATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE ESPECIALLY EAST OF THE BLUE RIDGE. DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE
THE PRIMARY THREAT.

Good morning everyone!! I'm late. I guess I've been sleeping til 6 every morning, I finally adjusted to the time change and now we will go back the other way. LOL

magpie said...

Hello there DanaMo ☺
I actually got up early to watch for meteors and ISS...
today is my Friday so I can skate a little on less sleep

magpie said...

G☼☼d M☼rning, JUDY ! New avatar showing the adorable Jordyn, sweet !

I'm starting the day off with a new one, too. A Hawaaian Olulu Tree. I say Ooh, lah, lah !

The nest looks good, but would look better with an eagle or two in it.

Lori O. said...

Good Morning DANA MO! Still recovering from your B-Day?

Truthfully MARGY, don't think I really want to see an eagle pluck a squirrel out of the nest. I saw a hawk do it here at home a few years ago.

DanaMo said...

Yes, school starts on the 29th. Missed that typo. My son Aric is suppose to move into the dorm on the 20th, but we will be doing that for him because he is going to World Youth Day with the Pope in Madrid Spain.

Lori O. said...

HOLY MIRACLE! KAY & I are both here at the same time! We've been barely mising each other by seconds for most of the past week. I like your Oooooh-La-La Tree avatar KAY! Hawaii and the tropics have such unbelievable plant life and colors...oh, and good smells.

JudyEddy said...

HELLO AND GOOD BYE TO YA KAY and DANAMO

Recovering from another "party" at my house and still have one more to go. Last night we had the final WYD meeting here to pass out T-shirts and such. Wanted to give the teens an opportunity to hang out together since they will be spending the next 10 days away from family and with each other. Making all the final plans. Of course I ran around like a mad woman trying to get everything clean and in order and to mow the grass before everyone arrived! I was exhausted before the meeting started!

DanaMo said...

Bye Judy, don't work too hard!

Kay said...

I looked for meteors, but can only see a couple of small patches of sky through the trees and the ever present glow of city lights was too intense, I think. Would have needed to drive out beyond civilization to enjoy the show.

Yep, here we are at the same time, gLORI ! I went to bed early last night. Couldn't find anything I really wanted to do or watch, so sleeping seemed the right thing to do. Consequently I'm up with the birds, uh, uh, but not the birds I really want to see !

DanaMo said...

Kay, I think I will be in Columbus on Thursday all day at the hotel. I think that's the 25th. Can we get together that day? What email address can I use so we can exchange information.

Kay said...

Just had to reboot, the old early morning routine again !:(

DANA, apparently I misunderstood your earlier message ! I thought you were going to be stuck in a Dayton hotel during the time my family is reuning. The 25th in Columbus will be wonderful !!!! Just go into my profile, hit e-mail and send me a message. I'll respond and we'll both have the e-mail addresses we need. I'll send you my phone number that way, too. I will be free all that day, so we'll find something interesting to do as well as a lot of gabbing ! I'm thrilled !

Kay said...

G'day to JUDY. I'll bet Wally World is jumpin' due to school shopping. We'll look for you at lunch time !

DANA, you are caught up in one of those whirlwinds that goes with being a parent of teens. Fun, but exhausting !

magpie said...

Going to turn things down here and head out soon...
Best Travel wishes for Lynne2 and Steve, hope things won't be too soggy at the parents-in-law's

Hope there are lots of Bright Sunny Moments of the Day for everyone, regardless of the weather

Hope to "See" you from work...if we are not too busy
otherwise, later on !

xoxo ♥

Kay said...

LORI, thanks for all that weather info ! Looks pretty much like what is expected here in Columbus. We had three gLORIous days, Weds.,Thurs, and Fri., but today rain will put an end to that for a while. Ugh !

Kay said...

HAGD MARGY ! Glad it's your Friday ! What do you have planned for your weekend ?

Kay said...

BBL, heading for newspapers, e-mail... HAGD, all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

DanaMo said...

Kay-I thought that was going to be the case, but last night my husband said we would be in Columbus on the 25th. He will be with customers all day. I will send an email later today.

For now...I'm going to sit and read my kindle. Got the newest Catherine Coulter, with my favorite FBI agents. I'm going to go read and snuggle with a black dog! :)

Have a great day everyone!

Lori O. said...

HAGD KAY and DANA MO. Wish KAY had a dog to snuggle with. Where is Malcolm when you need him? DANA enjoy your cozy black lab and your new book.

Lori O. said...

Since HUNTER is our Redskins good luck charm, maybe we should make a song ♪♫♫♪ Hail to Hunter... instead of Hail to the Redskins. Not sure they deserve it yet after the last few years. They've been brutally bad for most of the 9 yrs I've been here. Maybe onwer, Mr. Schnieder, is the BAD luck here.

T-Bird said...

Good morning my eagle momsters and dadsters.

magpie said...

HELLO T-BIRD ☺

I HEARD YA' CHIRPIN' JUST BEFORE I LEFT FOR WORK

HAVE YOU BEEN HITTING THE FLEA MARKETS THESE DAYS?

Judie said...

Good morning everyone.

Good luck to Hunter today in his scrimmage game. May he be his team's good luck charm, also.

Moon too bright to see the meteor shower.

Having lunch with a friend/former student today then headed to hunt and gather food.

Wishing everyone a lovely day.

magpie said...

Same to you Judie....

Lolly said...

Guess what!!!!!! It is raining!!! We are getting close to 2 tenths!!!!! It has been raining very gently for the last hour!

Lolly said...

Good morning! Have not read the blog yet, just so excited to have a wee bit of rain. Temps this next week are supposed to go up to 105 again, so this wee bit will help a little. I am getting very worried about the trees. You see dead and dying trees all around.

Lolly said...

Ha...we were going to mow this morning. Guess a few of Camp Hawkwood plans will have to change.

T-Bird said...

Good-bye friends. I'm going to see what I can get into this morning.

Lolly said...

We are getting close to 3 tenths! It is amazing! LOL I keep going outside and walking in the rain. Laurel says she is getting rain as well. It is going to take much more than this to help the lakes and end the drought, but right now we are really enjoying this little break.

hedgie said...

Morning all--haven't read from split forward yet...sun finally just appeared so think I'll go out and try to do a little bit of clean-up.
Judy...love the music with that video---one of my favorite funny songs!! That eagle was totally oblivious!! Looked like a rattler based on shape of head. YIKES!!!

ANDY---Judie's team is also the Skins, like most of the rest of us commenting last night!!

hedgie said...

Margy, needless to say, there was nothing to see at nest last night! DARKNESS only!

hedgie said...

JudyE---sounds like you need to maybe run your coffee-maker with vinegar...maybe some of the holes are clogged.

hedgie said...

Oh, Lori.....I just want nice steady, getnle rain.....no more gully washers!! ARGH!

hedgie said...

LOL, Lori....Snyder has not been a very good owner in many opinions. Too bad Jack Kent Cooke died.....and that Gibbs return did not work out....BUT----I am a diehard.....I will always be rooting for my team!

Oh, Kay and Dana----how cool that you will get to hook up!!!! Can't wait to hear all about that!!!

hedgie said...

WhooHoo----RAIN at Hawkwood!!!! Hope it continues, Lolly!!! Keep it there---we won't mind!

Hi, Thelma!!!

Mema Jo said...

Good Saturday Morning - no plans here yet. Showers may keep me from market
tomorrow - hope I can get in and out
of them - really want some of Megan's
glorious sunflowers!

JudyE - maybe you filled coffee maker with too little water... Try it one more
time and then like Lynn said - hit the
vinegar treatment.

Have a fun time with lunch and your
former student - That speaks to how well your students love you!

I have not heard yet from the Bragg Bunch - I know Patrick was very happy with the win and I am anxious to talk
with Samantha.

Take care - gotta make some phone calls. BBILW

Mema Jo said...

Lolly - thank goodness my Rain Dance
is finally working for you! Enjoy -
I bet you feel like 'dancing in the rain'.....♥

Mema Jo said...

Oh man - we are getting a tremendous
dour pour - I best stop dancing!
Marvin is enjoying it out under the patio table and it sure does smell good.

Lori I had to put up Samantha's pic to go along with Hunter's . I think they
are both the same age - Sammy goes into
4th grade!

Hoda said...

Goodmorning. We have Momsters and Dadsters in training. WIth JUDYE'S picture of JORDYN infront of the computer station open at the nest, and SAMANTHA and HUNTER, the NEXT GENERATION coming up....cool.

It is beautiful here today... and TEXAS GOT RAIN!!!HURRAH!!!

Off to Dragon Boat Paddling...see you in a few hours...

hedgie said...

Front railings are done. Such as they are......places where old paint on his tarps transferred to my the rail-----and it won't come off. GRIPE!

Now for the small back deck rails....

Wow, Jo---rain must be staying on the east side of the mountain for now! Enjoy! Tell it to go to TX!

stronghunter said...

Good afternoon!

Checking in.

Busy day here. Have been at Hunter's scrimmage. Cloudy here. A bit of rain.

wvgal_dana said...

Margy knew last night you not being on.
Mean't you had time to spend with James.
( :

Hoping Dusting and Hunter have a good games today.

Hoda tucker her head from all the footballs lol
New players come in and try out during the first 4 games called pre-season games. As Hedgie-Lynn
was saying. After those 4 games then the games are taken even more serious. lol

I was for years a Redskin fan married Ed (my love still) he was a Pittsburg "Steeler's Fan". So I
had a license plate made for on the front of the car which I have in our glass football case now.
One side had Redskins written down and their helmet then the National logo the other side has Pittsburg Steeler's helmet and down along the side written Steeler's. It was all done in each of their colors. On a white plate.
When we first met the first game we watched together was the Redskins playing Pittsburg lol. Met 1987 and years later he talked me into changing to Pittsburg but he knew I still liked both teams.
I root for Pittsburg but will always like watching Redskins otherwise.

wvgal_dana said...

Hedgie-Lynn remember Normanbyrd is a die heart Dallas Fan.

Loretta Jeanne will be happy spending the night sleeping near Danny. I remember I did the same
thing when they put Ed in the private room. They told me I good stay any or all nights if I wanted
too.

Andy I got Ed the Steeler DirecTV remote. He just loved it. Do let us know how Marq is getting along?
So glad your foot is looking better ( : I continuing prayers for the gout.
Hope you get your Redskin remote!!!

JudyE I looked at your comment at 5:32AM. I wondered do I really want to click on that..well you know it got the best of me even though I scared to death
of snakes...yuck!!

Home for lunch and got my mail and I have a Jury Summons on Sept 12 I hope its a interesting case LOL

Carpet on front deck is done---as well as I can get it. Had to scrape at the mess with a fork to get it loosened up to vacuum.
Worked up a sweat for sure, even tho' it's only 81°.
Eating lunch....and then on to the back deck---just one area on it, thank goodness!

JudyEddy said...

The state of Fl is having the tax free weekend for school shopping also so it is really busy today I bought a bunch of clearance bubbles and sidewalk chalk for Jordyn school the bubble are the no spill one I love they were $2.00 marked down to .50cents ok how do we make a cents signs need to check that site and same with the chalk Who ever invented the no spill bubbles in a genius LOL

hedgie said...

Dana, I did forget about Norma being a diehard Cowpoke fan!

JudyE----too bad you weren't called for the Anthony case!!!! Is it a city, county, or federal summons?

JudyEddy said...

I'll see you all later I shopped during lunch and need to get back before I get lost in blog land BBL

Kay said...

LOllY, rain by golly ! Praise the Lord !

DANAMO, will be watching for that e-mail message. Can't wait to see you !

JUDYE, that was a rattler moving through the TH nest. Yikes ! Yep, hope you draw a good trial if you do meet the requirements for service. Wow, FL has a great idea with that tax break. Sounds like an economy booster other States should copy.

LYNN, you are having to work way too hard in cleaning up after those painters ! And, I felt picked on when the tree service left my deck filled with twigs and sawdust the other day. They had a blower I saw them using on the driveway and couldn't believe they didn't use it on my deck as well. Grrrrrr.

wvgal_dana said...

Went out last night to see the meteor's but the moon was too full.

So sorry Lolly glad you are getting a little rain. I can just see you walking outside in
the rain. I hope Camp is fun like most years.
I hope someone puts up a video on youtube of Joey. I would love to see him doing Elvis!!!!

Neat that the day will work out for Dana and Kay to have a get together ( :

Lolly said...

I have an announcement!!!! I have a brand new great nephew. Reece, a little boy, was born about an hour ago. Janna had to have a cesarean. Do not have the details but I have a picture! This is my brother's son, Blaine and his wife. Their first child. A great day!

Did a little dance in the rain...but we also mowed in the rain. LOL Wanted to get the job done and it was 78!!! Now I need to clean up and get to the store. Leave at 3 for Denton.

Lolly said...

Oh, the rain is over. We got close to a half inch of rain. It was slow and soaked in...no run off!

hedgie said...

I don't think WV is doing a tax-free school shopping weekend this year. Don't think they did it last year, either. No wonder they have a huge surplus of funds!
:( MD and VA have already had theirs---last weekend I think.

Kay, I was sure it was a rattler, too!

Now to haul the wet/dry vac back to the basement.....I still have the balcony to do...but it will have to wait til another day---and use the regular vac cause there's no way to get the other one up the spiral stair case---I can't carry it over my head!

wvgal_dana said...

Hedgie-Lynn sorry you are having to clean up after those workers. It would just seem natural that it was included in the price. I wouldn't have thought there should even be a discussion about it. They know how their stuff gets on things. It just makes me mad you have to do it!!! grrr (((HUGS)))

Hoda said...

JUDYE on Jury duty...WOW that should be interesting.

Paddling was good and we had a new coach and she was so soft spoken that she was a bit difficult to hear. Saw lots of Canada Geese and they like to swim along side us till we pick up the pace and then they stop and do their food thing!!!They almost go upside down with heads in the water and bums stuck out, they look so funny.

LYNN do not tire your self out with the clean up. Stay hydrated and I am sorry there is so much of it to do.Are you not going to ask the chap who owes you six hours of work to come and help? I like it that there is a football player who makes pottery near where you are...somehow it makes them seem a bit more real to me...an art form. It is the same culture like hockey in Canada, I think. We also have CFL here, yet Canadian football is shorter field I think and rules are also slightly different than yours. I do not really watch hockey or football in Canada either...got disillusioned with all the atheletes who do steroids and the fights were going past foolish in hockey. They are WAAAAAAYYYYYY over paid if you ask me!!!

wvgal_dana said...

Hoda you got that right as far as over paid!!! It is hard to take a family to see a football or baseball game these days.

Glad your paddling went well. Maybe the new person will start speaking a little louder.

Oh LOLLY a new great nephew. I like the name "Reece". Their first

He is a little cone head right now. He had a hard time coming and then finally the c-section. 7 lbs 8 oz and 19 inches. This little baby is a little turkey! His dad and I have called each other turkey for over 30 years. When he was little, at Thanksgiving, I could get him to interact with me by going under the table. So we sat, under the table, saying "you're a turkey" and it has continued. So, this baby is a new little turkey.☺

Hi,Gang!
Haven't read much on the blog yet, but did see that Lolly is getting a bit of RAIN!!! YIPPEE!!! Better a bit than none, right? Congrats on the new grand nephew! Love the name Reese!

My foot is a LOT better today! I can get my thongs on! It has been so swollen I've had to wear a big bedroom slipper until now! Thanks, everyone, and keep praying! It's working! Gotta go get presentable. Hubby is antsy today, and gotta keep up with him(good exercise for the foot!). Will check in later... HAGD, everyone! (WASH-FM is playing.... :o])

LOLLY, what a great day for you---a soaking rain, a new little turkey to welcome and some family fun ahead in Denton !

LYNN, having grown up in Tucson I do know a rattler when I see one ! Don't like snakes one bit and glad the eaglet didn't make a move while that one was trespassing. How horrible to have those lightning strikes---prayers for the victims and prayers that you will weather the storm and be back here soon.

JO, hope the weather doesn't interfere with Mass, but don't take chances. We are getting some dire predictions about storms due in later this evening. Ugh. It also looks bad for us in the extended forecast and I do so want good weather for the family reunion from the 19th-22nd !

HODA, I like the idea LYNN came up with. I can't imagine you having a bit of trouble writing anything you choose to expound on ! I'm thinking you could well teach such a class !

ANDY, so happy to hear the foot is better ! Just don't over do it !

Linda said...

Hello Eagle Family!

LYNN - So sorry this paint job you "paid" for is causing you so much clean up work. I can imagine how frustrated you must be. Also, stay safe in the storm. ♥

HODA - I like Lynn's suggestion on what to write about! Seems like we have lots to write about right here with amazing stories about how God does answer prayer!!

LOLLY - Congratulations on your new little great nephew Reese! I hope he brings much joy and happiness to your nephew and his lovely wife.

JUDYE - Wally World must be a mad house today with the tax free day. I remember those in FL back when my kids were in school.

ANDY - Thanks for the ((((HUGS)))) and so glad to hear you're feeling a sense of freedom to catch up on what you haven't had the chance to do in quite a while. Even happier to hear your foot is getting better. Don't overdo it!!

MARGY - Your Friday is almost over!! Yipee! Hope you get home before any bad weather is in your area.

I'm back and all is well. We were lucky at my end of the county. One short downpour....nothing else serious out this way but the lightening hitting the two people. Others areas were apparently not so lucky. I think Carolyn's area was hit pretty hard, and maybe Wanda's, too. Everything mild for you, DanaWV? I think probably so!

Ground doesn't even look like it rained!
I got caught up on some shows that I recorded while I was gone.
Decided to stick with oven for dinner, since more weather is possible. Country ribs baking with onions and kraut. Smelling yummy! They were huge ribs, so have two left to bbq on grill another time.

JUDYE, I love your avatar of Jordyn sitting at your desk. Very cute. She does love her OMA doesn't she?!

I hope you all in the WV gang are okay after the storm LYNN described.

KAY, sounds like you have a bad night on the way, too. Our isn't supposed to get too bad until very early (after midnight) tomorrow morning, then through the day tomorrow. Oh, I pray you have fantastic weather for the family in Columbus! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I got a lot of gardening done today...mostly thinning things out so BEEs can't HIDE! I'd been afraid to go off the deck after the yellow jacket attack, so I was pretty proud of myself venturing all over and taking action today! Mowed the yard. I love that freshly mowed look.

LOLLY, congrats on little Reece. I worked with a Reese on KPRO in Riverside, California in the early
80's.

HODA! Dragon Boating, yoga and an autobiography class? You are amazing! Give me half your energy, pleeeeeze!
I did like LYNN's suggestion. I have a feeling you could write about nearly anything and it would be an "A" paper for you.

MARGY, I love what someone said about it being your FRIDAY! Yeah! Now your weekend begins. Any big plans?

Lori O. said...

Sorry LINDA. I can't find my old houseplant book. Probably gave it away because I was never any good with them.

How are you feeling today? Is Lillian okay?

Lori O. said...

I did get some new pics of the Black Vulture chicks today, which are more like Black Vulture Humongus Creatures now. They're huge!

I', experimenting with feeding them daily for 4 days to see if they calm down. Today was day one and they were pretty good. One chick was growling and the other only put his wings out once...and I did, for the first time, get to see them venture over to the meat bowl. They began to eat until they realized I had only moved back and hadn't left and was still watching them. No parents around. Fun anyway.

JUDYE I have sound, nothing but the wind...its an open mike expereince.

I think you are the lady with high energy with the work schedule and with your travels and dedication to family and pets.

I am SO VERY BLESSED. I spent an hour and a half talking to Carol, my youngest sister from my American Family. She is truly a wise person and we can talk about anything. She is my executor and I think this is very generous on her part.Today we were discussing arrangements and the simplicity and grace come from the celebration not from holding on.THANK YOU GOD FOR CAROL BATCHELDER BARANS.

LORI - I'm doing pretty good today keeping busy with laundry, unpacking the things I never unpacked and such. My youngest Cochran cousin called me this afternoon and broke down. She felt so bad they were on vacation (left the day Billy died)and didn't even know until they returned. She adored Billy and she was his favorite.

I call Lil daily and today she was much better. The doctor gave her something to help (maybe happy pills) her deal better with things and she seems to be letting go of some of her anger at everyone that crosses her path. Today is a good day for her. I hope it remains that way. One day at a time.

I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone...I posted some comments and a list of the plants that are in LINDA's basket. Wondered why Linda didn't respond, so I looked for comments and they are gone!
I will repost for LINDA, so she will have some idea of what to do with her plants.

Costume Lady said...

LINDA, you are correct, the tall yellow and orange plants are Bromiliads

They like bright light and they need to be watered in the leaf cup.

Small purple flower is an African Violet: bright east or north window...put water

in a saucer under the pot ...needs to suck up water for about an hour.

Red and orange plants, Kalanchoe: Bright light, but never direct sunlight...

Water when soil feels dry.

Green leaf with small white flower: Spathiphyllum: Bright light, no direst sun:

water when dry to the touch.

Azelea, should be planted outside...mine is planted in front of house/West.

Water as needed.

Costume Lady said...

It looks like a deluge of rain took place here. Pine needles washed down the driveway, along with gravel. It rained on our way to Charles Town, but not fiercely. Rain quit just as we got to the football stadium. They have artificial turf there, so there was no mud...it's a beautiful stadium (Washington High School in Charles Town...very new High School) No winners or losers...scrimmage. Dustin is the tallest player, so no problem seeing him:)
Karla, Donny and Jayden were there and Jayden was so good. He can be ornery at times!

Hoda said...

LYNN thanks for letting us know about MARGY and DANA.

Costume Lady said...

LINDA you can keep the plants in the basket, in a bright window, or under a grow light on a table. Water the plants when they feel dry to the touch...but don't forget to water the leaf cups of the Bromeliad and be careful not to get water on the leaves of the African Violet. When and if the plants don't look healthy or get too tall and leggy, then separate them:)

Linda said...

LYNN - It's nice that you're in touch with Margy and Dana and can let us know they are okay!! Thanks!

The Hallmark movie looks like it will be taking place in Ireland!!

Hi, Everyone,
Golly, more people on the prayer list!
Sorry to hear about the collapsed stage and the people hurt and killed there, and sorry about the two who got struck by lightning!

Just put Emma to bed a few minutes ago. She fell asleep watching TV with me in the recliner. She is back to 100% now, by the way. What a relief! (...To the dog park tomorrow!)
She's pretty cute. I've been cleaning her ears out every day, or every other day. I use a mix of white vinegar with water, on a round cotton pad. She comes to me right away when I ask her if she wants clean ears, and while I'm cleaning each ear she gets this "Oh, my, that feels GOOD!" look on her face. She smells a little like Italian salad dressing for a while, but it works really well! 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water, moisten the cotton pad, and put it over the tip of your finger. Don't go TOO deep!

Couldn't get hold of the kids today. They must've been on the road, going grossery shopping or something. Will probably hear from them tomorrow. DID hear from Jay, our oldest GD. She is coming out to visit this coming Thursday, Good Lord willing!
She manages a tattoo shop in Dallas, and has been invited to do a day of tattoos at a parlor in Los Angeles. If they like her, they will have her fly in every couple of months to do a weekend "guest appearance" and do tattoos here. We would get to see her much more often, so hope it works out! Can't WAIT until Thursday!

Lynn, I have a question. My foot barely hurts now, and is only slightly swollen, but I have very little mobility in my right big toe. I can move the other 4 toes around a lot, but it's as if the joint in the ball of my foot is nearly frozen! What do you think would cause that? I found out nothing's broken. Hmmmmm.
My other big toe bends really well.
It's hard to walk without a limp because my big toe is so stiff, and I don't want to injure anything else because I'm having to compensate for it. Still can't get any enclosed shoes on quite yet, but my thongs are fine. The insole has a built-in arch support, so they are pretty comfy.

OH--I almost forgot! Saw a Monarch butterfly flitting all around our back yard today!! We don't have any milkweed, but there might be some at the Santa Ana River only 1-1/2 blocks away.

Got another big envelope from the doctor I'm transcribing reports for today! He asked me to call and discuss how much I will charge him. I had told him that I would do the first few reports for free, so he could see how they turned out. Guess he likes them! Will call him Monday morning.

Ms Bookworm said...

Here's a picture of Jay, our oldest GD. Can't wait to see her!

Well, think I'll go watch some mindless TV for a while. Have said prayers for everyone, and all creatures. Making sure the porch light is on. Enabling both security systems. Hope everyone has a GOOD night's sleep tonight! God bless, and goodnight! Love each and every one of you! :o]

Hi!

Came down for a glass of milk to help with my insomnia and decided to look at the blog. A nice surprise to see Hunter on here! How sweet of you, Lori. I will tell him.

I went to his scrimmage this morning. He and the team did well, but he was tired and a bit grumpy. The scrimmage started at 9:00 AM and he hadn't gotten home until midnight after the Redskins game. There wasn't any score kept, as the teams were just practicing different types of plays.

The play was fun. We met Susan at the theater and then got a cab to the restaurant and back.

stronghunter said...

It is a good thing I came downstairs. The weather alarm just went off because we have a flash flood watch. Of course, now it will probably go off again when the watch becomes a warning.

It is raining here now.
