The fact that she is trying to keep the egg cup dry by tenting is promising. But she has fooled me before..

Beele is kind of sorta tenting! Nothing to protect but the cup----maybe she wants to make sure it's dry for a special reception tonight!!!!

yeah, BEagle, for me it's much easier to tell the 2 NBG birds apart because they have the great close up head shots. I would probably do better with ours if we had a more "side" view. For me, I just really can't tell ours apart. Even when both are in the nest and one looks bigger, they'll move around and then the other one looks bigger! UGH.

Yeah, Belle appears darker than Lib to me. Sometimes it easy to tell who is who, other times hard until the other shows up.
Lynn, The Stumpy Point Oyster Festival is coming up , I think Valentines Day weekend. My daughter and son in law will probably go. I can't anymore. Have you been? If you love oysters it is the place to be. All on the wonderful Outer Banks.

Wow, Belle is really tenting.
Lib has lacy feathers. So does Belle but not as dramatic and makes her darker looking.
What is she doing? Keeping her egg cup dry? And she looks speckled for some reason. Is it just the cam?

Sorry, but it hasn't even really hit here yet, just a little precip. The radar shows more headed at us. But it's not supposed to be much, and she should be able to keep that cup dry just fine.
I think she's looking and acting 100% like she is about to lay an egg...just a matter of time.

Hi everyone. The kitchen is finally warm enough to use my notebook(?) in the kitchen while watching our din din.
Still not able to stand too long but with those Bertoli frozen skillet dinners, I'm able make something.

Alright, I have to say that was pretty cool, and perfect timing I might add. Jumped on real quick to see if you all had an egg yet and saw Belle in the nest acting a little strange. Figured I had better stay and watch, and less than a minute later, there it was. Congrats!

Well Friends that menu button under our live cam. Lets you share a picture with different places. So it allowed email. I sent it to myself.....not in spam and not in inbox....????? So I am not sure that is reliable.
(Laughing) I think I may have created a monster here!! My two oldest, Kyle and Kaelan, came in and sat on my lap right when I pulled up the video. Within seconds, it sounded like Belle was calling out. They asked what she was doing and I told them that I thought she was getting ready to lay an egg. Then poof, there it was! They were beside themselves! Now I am going to have one heck of a time getting them ready for Church, cause the DON'T want to leave this computer!

WOW!! Had checked nest about 45 min. ago, after dark, saw Belle, didn't know she had laid an egg!!!
Then was on email~~bad family news-Uncle Lew in grave condition now in a rehab near son's home in MA. CA spread from prostate, no surgery.He sent a beautiful Xmas card w/his pic at his 90th B'Day last summer.He and my late Aunt are the one's I'm sure I mentioned that lived in Tokyo, Manilla & retired to VT home on mountaintop. They had sent their 3 kids to States for college. He was w/Gen. Chenault's Flying Tigers in WWII.
Sorry, I was not on here last night to learn of Paula's news. Thoughts & prayers w/you.When our Frosty was quite old & not doing well, lab tests showed low enzyme levels concerning pancreas, so prob, CA. He had to have special food that was easy to digest.

What I see in the video is a total change of demeanor after 6:12.
I can hear her chirping in the video as well...the sound is low, but you can hear it.

Yeah, around 6:12- 6:15 she was really squirming around, seemed like something was going to happen. Heard that loud chirp right when I posted at 6:28, maybe it came out during the squirming, I didn't see it until 6:28. Can't wait to see the video.

It does look like the behavior we were watching at 6:12 was when the egg was laid. Aa 6:13 she looks under her breast, and then does major tenting. We don't see the egg until 6:28

I was sitting here eating and chatting with Steve, and was watching out of the corner of my eye, and saw her getting restless. I looked back just a few minutes later and said "EGG!". So Steve got to see the first look too!

Thx so much for concern about my Uncle. He is elderly, has had a wonderful life & they taught us much and sent presents from the Orient when we were young. It's still a shock, but he is comfortable & we can send him things.The Aunt he married, Ann, was my Mom's youngest sister.She3 met him in Hong Kong when sent there w/State Dept. He's from MI. She reminded me of Grace Kelly & they married around the time of Prince & Princess of Monaco!
