Eating again at lake Jordan

paula eagleholic said...

Oops it's over now...and slid thru the split!

paula eagleholic said...

Lib just landed with a big stick!

BEagle said...

One is back. I would say that is Lib.

BEagle said...

And now it's time for me to fly off my nest. : )

paula eagleholic said...

He quickly place it and is standing in the nest...

paula eagleholic said...

Tucked up the right foot!

BEagle said...

Those splits are sneaking up on the bloggers.

BEagle said...

Why would he tuck the right foot up?
To keep it warm?

paula eagleholic said...

Off to the right

BEagle said...

Oh no. Demolition Man just came on.
I like Stallone movies. I need to get this one.

I especially like the comedy with Estelle Getty in it but cannot remember the name of it.

stronghunter said...

Probably cars are the most frequent predators.

BEagle said...

I guess if Belle gets on the nest, Lib will stick around (lol) longer.

stronghunter said...

. . . of armadillos.

BEagle said...

lol. You are probably right on that Strong.

Lynne2 said...

afternoon all!

Been quiet around here today...Steve and friend Dave went out back to do some shooting (target) and then for a hike. I've been hanging out doing domestic goddess stuff. Just missed the eagles, though.

BEagle said...

Mama at NC looks like she's calling out.

BEagle said...

Two on BWE

BEagle said...

That's two adults....not eggs that I can tell.

BEagle said...

Two little chicks on the NC in full view.

BEagle said...

I hope those two don't beat each other up.

Lolly said...

Well, I got lost because of the split. LOL Oh well....

Time for us to leave for Dallas. Be back late tonight! Might blog from my phone.

See ya!

BEagle said...

You just can't see the wiggle with the NC cam and the BWE cam.

BEagle said...

Have a good, good time of it Lolly.

BEagle said...

I like your avatar Hedgie.

Got to scoot.

stronghunter said...

Oh no, one of my students centered her paper. It looks very strange. Nice kid, good student. As I have said before, they have much to learn.

paula eagleholic said...

I am starting to get a complex...my facebook account has been hacked...again...according to facebook. So now it's disabled and I have to answer a bunch of questions!!

So I'm running scans now...

stronghunter said...

Oh, yikes, Paula. Sorry you're having trouble.

Costume Lady said...

Paula, maybe the CHANGEOVER they are doing on facebook has something to do with your problem?

paula eagleholic said...

I wonder if it's from the stuff from yesterday? They were referencing the money scam...but that happened yesterday, not today...all of a sudden my account was disabled and I was logged out....what a PIA

paula eagleholic said...

I think FB is confused...

BEagle said...
This comment has been removed by the author.
BEagle said...

FB is probably confused.

stronghunter said...

Whoa! Just checked the nest and there is an eagle!!

BEagle said...

If FB had left everything alone, things would probably be OK. I liked the other format better anyway!

BEagle said...

See ya later!

stronghunter said...

Feathers being ruffled by the wind.

Lynne2 said...

BWE has a second egg! Just saw post and picture on FB

floralgirl said...

Other eagle just flew in- both in the nest now.

paula eagleholic said...

Well, I scanned my computer, all is good.

I think FB is messed up about my account now...sent them 3 emails...no response yet.

stronghunter said...

Both there. Got a pic.

paula eagleholic said...

Yup I see 2 in our nest

Been trying to watch BWE...glad they have 2 eggs now. She must have popped that second one out quick

floralgirl said...

Cool news about BWE!

paula eagleholic said...

Belle in the bowl, Lib closest to the cam

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Good Sunday afternoon my wonderful eagle buds! Our couple is in the nest!

paula eagleholic said...

Lib has back to cam now

paula eagleholic said...

Aren't they gorgeous, Sissy

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

So, do you all think we are close to getting an egg?

paula eagleholic said...

Of course, when I'm watching there's no HP, LOL

paula eagleholic said...

Boo just howled in his sleep!! I think he woke himself up! Too funny!

paula eagleholic said...

Sissy, I have no clue on these guys this year...I was initially thinking later rather than earlier...but who knows!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

I am praying we don't have the struggles we had last year! That was just tormenting for me, can't imagine how it was for them. Human beings would never had stuck it out like they did, for sure!!

paula eagleholic said...

Lib picking around the front now

Belle still standing in the bowl

floralgirl said...

You have no sound, right? Cause I just seem to have that clicking noise again.

stronghunter said...

I assume that is Belle sitting in the cup.

paula eagleholic said...

Lib cleaning his beak on the tree trunk

paula eagleholic said...

Megan, that's all I have, too. I emailed Steve about the sound issue, hopefully they can check it this week.

Judie said...

Hi everyone.

Watching the two gorgeous eagles in our nest. Such a treat for me to have the timing just right.

Been a weekend of sleep and pain pills.

Shirley, I hope Susan is better and her ears are going to heal. She'll be better once she's back home.

Paula, sorry about your FB account being messed up/hacked into. Hope it gets straightened out asap.

Got up briefly to check on our royal pair. Now back to bed.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

That is Lib in the cup and Belle at the tree, right?

floralgirl said...

Whoa! back with a large branch

paula eagleholic said...

Nope, that was Lib that just took off.

Leaving here in a few minutes

Lib back with one heck of a stick

floralgirl said...

Okay, thanks, Paula.

paula eagleholic said...

See ya'll later...heading out for awhile

BEagle said...

Now that I have the Audubon Field Guide, the hawk I saw on Friday exactly matches a Gyrfalcon. It says these are large falcons.

They don't show up around here much but there it is.

floralgirl said...

Lib flew out- empty nest now.

stronghunter said...

Oh good grief! Kid just spelled "attorney" "eternie"--either that, or it is a word I haven't learned yet.

At least I can assume she did not plagiarize it, unless she copied from a very poor speller.

wvgal_dana said...

Glad some got to see the eagles.

Paula sounds like FB has things all messed up for you.

Just fed Little Man his din din. Brown rice, broth and chicken pieces and he acted like he hadn't eaten in a month of Sunday's.

wvgal_dana said...

Don't remember who on our blog always made their own dog food. I rememeber they did because when they were removing some from the shelfs in stores. They said they did not have to worry because they made their own.
Wonder what all they used. Anyone remember who it is?????

Mema Jo said...

Hello all! Glad to come back to BWE 2nd egg!
Shirley - I hope the student never needs to find help from an 'eternie' in the phone book. Let alone a 'lawyer'

Happy you all got to see the Royal Couple - I have just gotten home. But
I bet I have more chances to see them in the future!

wvgal_dana said...

So excited that BWE has their 2nd egg. I know Lisa is so happy.

wvgal_dana said...

Shirley and her students lol I don't feel so badly about my spelling mishaps. lol

wvgal_dana said...

How can it be 53 and 61 in Colorado ????? Then on Wed 43 and Thurs 35. I thought that was a very cold state. My daughter get better temps that I do grrrrrr but happy for her. I know if she goes up in the mountains the temps and snow is bitter.

say "Be still my heart" Love you gal!

hedgie said...

I am home a nd settled in with a nice full tummy. Still catching up here, but gotta say:

WhooHoo BWE crew! 2 lovely eggs!

And any turtle OR armadillo too stoopid to use their God-given armor to prevent getting taken/eaten by a predator deserves what it gets! DUH!

hedgie said...

Mai is being VERY good! Maybe she missed me, and didn't like being alone!!! But.....have to say, Derick looked as chewed up as me. He brought his tiny rescue mini-poo----she was good as gold, and just a fluffy pop-pom!! But he showed me old and new punctures and cuts----so I guess Mai is not MUCH "badder" than other pups!

We had a big crowd with many new faces. But WHERE OH WHERE was Dana?????

hedgie said...

LOL, Lynne----domestic goddess! I like that!

wvgal_dana said...

Tuesday we are suppose to get freezing rain. Hope our eagles don't decide that is the time to lay and egg.

hedgie said...

Shirley......what do you mean the student centered the paper??? Each line is centered as opposed to justified??? Oh, my.......what a goof that was. Very hard to grade that when you are going for form as well as content and grammar, etc.

stronghunter said...

Yes, Lynn, each line is centered.

wvgal_dana said...

Dana stayed in a nice warm house taking care of Little Man. I don't want to go for long. Due to he isn't feeling well and the test should be back tomorrow.

stronghunter said...

I wrote her a note that says that it should be left justified, but I doubt that she will understand, so I also wrote that I could explain.

hedgie said...

Sorry for FB troubles......Mits had cleaned out her cookies, and apparently passwords all went, too. When she tried to login to FB, she didn't remember password....tried too many times.....Helpdesk has NOT helped--oh, they answered her and told her try this/try that, but to no avail. She tried to deactivate account and can't do it without a password! She is HOT!

hedgie said...

Dana, I think Glo makes Dex's dogfood.

hedgie said...

Mai just chewed open the nose of her doggie.....more stuffin's out! Guess I'll stitch it up. Shhhh...don't tell her but I got her a new one, but will wait til the old one is REALLY bad before giving it to her.

hedgie said...

Hmmmmm....if you get another look at BWE eggs.....Mits just sent a pic; eggs look funny.

stronghunter said...

Came across a puppy picture of Flash and posted it. He is the doggy on my avatar. You can see how much his coloring has changed.

Mema Jo said...

I may be that Mits' pic was taken before the egg firmed up? Just an idea.

glo said...

Hi Dana and Hedgie I need to say that yes I do cook breakfast for Dex about once every two weeks and freeze it and he has baked skinless chicken tenderloins cut into chunks for breakfast every day. I had to fix that for Daphne as a treat as she had tremendous allergies and could not have the preservatives in regular dog treats. So even when I lost her I wasn't gong to stop giving Dex his morning chicken chunk treats. I have cooked a lot of chicken :-) But I don't cook his supper. He gets L'il Caesar for supper.

Gotta eat, but I'm not hungry. Can I have choc. ice cream for dinner???

wvgal_dana said...

Sure Loretta I had a chocolate bar with peanut butter in it...go ahead ENJOY!!

wvgal_dana said...

Ok Lynn-Hedgie wasn't Glo---It was someone that actually fix their dogs own dinner. Can't remember who is was???

wvgal_dana said...

Glo that is what Little Man has been getting Little Cesar's but he has stopped eating. That is why I fixed him yesterday and today brown rice with pieces of chicken and broth.
Gulpped it right down. Had to take dish away to slow him down.

Costume Lady said...

I remember Glo looking for chicken to cook for Dex and that is when she discovered CHICKEN PAWS:)
Too funny!

Costume Lady said...

Peanut butter and jelly is good anytime of the day. This morning, we didn't have time to cook anything for breakfast, so we had toast with chunky p-butter with apricot jam and ate it on the way to church. Gave hugs to some of our church family and they could all smell the p-butter:)

paula eagleholic said...

Back again....

I would think Mits could have just gone to the portion of the site where you request a new password....

Lowreeda, you have my permission to eat ice cream for dinner. Glad you get to see daughter soon.

No answer from facebook.

Last week I found a nice rattan dining table for the beach house...went with John tonight to pickup and put in his basement.

Our nest is really light! Looks like daytime!

paula eagleholic said...

Now that Lowreeda mentioned ice cream....might have to have some!

hedgie said...

This was posted on Lake Jordan (NC cam) FB page:

lots of moonlight on the nest tonight but don't think we will see that Monday night...

stronghunter said...

That light on the nest is unusual.

I have to do the domestic thing Monday, have not undone Christmas yet, what little I did get out.
Need to change the scenery in the little room box, that part will be fun

stronghunter said...

The hospital Susan went to is in Cumbaya, with an accent over the last a, which I cannot do on here. It's pronounced the way you would think, as in "Cumbaya, Lord, cumbaya."

I noticed that some of my third block students reacted when I said "Cumbaya" when I was talking to Kathryn. They did not ask me if I was about to break into song.

As I recall "cumbaya" is Spanish for "come by here." Interesting.

hedgie said...

Paula, t hey told Mits that her email address wasn't in the database! Told her to try all others she ever had. Duh....hasn't had any others! It hasn't changed.

stronghunter said...

Okay, not exactly. The word in the song starts with a K and it is of African American origin. Oh, well. Can't say that I had ever thought about the spelling or history when I was singing it, but that is how you pronounce the name of the place.

stronghunter said...

Geesh, Mits is having a time of it.

stronghunter said...

Lynn, Susan is saying that she thinks the fluid in her ears drained into her lungs. Have you ever heard of anything like that?

hedgie said...

Always loved that word and the song, Shirley. For some reason, I started singing it a couple of days ago. Must have been unconscious sympathy with Suzi!!

Margy, hate to tell you but yu could have done all those things with online forms.....just fill-in, print out, take to notary and sign! But know my mom just did the same as you! Ouch!

hedgie said...

No, Shirley!!! It would drain externally after a rupture; otherwise it would follow the eustachian tubes and drain into the throat. Only way for it to get to the lungs would be if she aspirated it!!!

stronghunter said...

Yeah, I was a bit skeptical of that, Lynn. But she still claims she has fluid in her lungs. I am sure that is entirely possible, but the source isn't.

stronghunter said...

I have to stop for the evening and do something else. I am getting aching shoulders from sitting at this table grading papers and using the computer. I will not sleep unless I relax.

I'll see you all tomorrow.

stronghunter said...

If Susan has fluid in her lungs,it sounds more like pneumonia, which is not a good thing. But I don't think she can diagnose this herself.

I really want to get her home.

NatureNut said...

Back again---checking emails, the Real bears.

I don't know all the details of Mits fb wipeout, but I was afraid to join 'cuz I had heard of so much hacking, etc. Plus I can't hardly find time to do regular emails! Think Fubby's paypal got hacked, but they caught it, so guess he'll have to open a new acct.
BTW, isn't Jordan Lake the NC State eaglecam!Chrissy said she could get it, then wrote that it wouldn't come on, but then she got it again!I had asked her about the Lady (Isla)of the Loch book & it can be preordered already on UK Amazon.I'll have to see if I can find it on ours.
Last time I checked NBG, they said cam was not on yet!? Since they are more South than BW, I would think they might have eggs. Think there is a new nest, tho.

hedgie said...

Yes, Shirley, if she has any kind of a flu thing, whether H1N1 or another one, it is a lung infection.....and fluid is part of it.....but better a thin fluid than thick, goopy mucous!

NatureNut said...

Paula, I did not eat any ice cream yet! LOL But I do have a little leftover plate from yesterday. Man that used to work for Park & Planning had his annual family B'Day party in Meeting Room of Vis. Ctr. They had so much food, they had us take some! Ham,mac. salad, sweet pots., cabbage, pot. salad, lima beans, etc. John, the organizer also had old car,so F knows him. He will be in late 70's and his sister is 83, I think & her hubby is having B'Day, too!I have some of that---will do that before ice cream!
BTW, been meaning to congratulate Paula on beach house. It sounds so exciting!!!Even the fixing up sounds fun 'cuz you get to decorate as you like!
Hear a couple bear groans--will check~~

Almost news time....... and pillow time too.

Diane said...

It seems I can't get on here until late...hopefully that will change once Aaron is back at college. He keeps me running. We've spent his Xmas break going to doctor's...his and mine. He had phemonia right after Thanksgiving and the doctor found an abnormality in his EKG. So we've had a cardiologist run tests to make sure he was ok. He has a partial right bundle branch block, an extra heart beat and a heart murmur (that must run in the family, as my father and I also have the murmur). Anyhow, after running all the tests, he's fine. Thanks goodness!! He told the doc he's just an overachiever, because he also has an extra rib and an extra vertebrae. :-)

Anyhow, I was out today at "my" eagle nest and didn't see them. I've been told they've been spotted, so that's good news! Especially after a bald eagle was hit by an airplane at Dulles Airport which is right near where the nest is. I also have two more nests to try to find!! Believe it or not, there are THREE nests in Loudoun County now. So I have make some trips to see if I can spot them.

Mema Jo said...

Hi Diann - I was on your blog earlier and I really love all the pics - you sure have a variety! Thanks for sharing them.

hedgie said...

Now Mai has decided that her dishes are toys.....got out the larger, heavier bowls....and she still manages to drag and flip them around. ARGH!

stronghunter said...

Hi, got up for a bit to take a pill and check some messages. Saw that my department chair has said that I should give my papers a lick and a promise and have done with it.

Kind of have to consider that. I usually spend 30-45 minutes on each one. That much time is not possible. This has happened because of the combination of my accident and multiple snow days. Not my fault.

BEagle said...

Hi MemaJo. Did you see that I found out what my hawk was?

Hi, Everyone,
I have been pretty much MIA again this weekend--sorry about that! We have been SO busy. Still babysitting the bulldogs. Emma had a very good report at the vet's yesterday. She has gained more weight, and is now 13 pounds! She got the rest of her series of puppy shots, AND her rabies shot, so now can go places with us. We took her shopping at Petco, and she picked out some new chew toys. One is a pink hedgehog! Reminded me of you, Lynn! She is really connecting the dots regarding housebreaking. She will be tearing up and down the hall, or running from the entry hall into the living room and back, when all of a sudden she will run like the wind to the piddle pads in the entry hall, and pee on them! GOOD GIRL, Emma! We really make a big deal of it, and she is proud of herself!

Ms Bookworm said...

Have read back on the blog a bit, and I see I owe both Lolly and Chrissie belated Birthday wishes!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, LOLLY!
AND
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, CHRISSIE!
Hope that both of you had a great day, and will have a wonderful year!

While we were at Petco, I ran into a couple who I used to work with at my last job! It was SOOOOO good to see them! Sandy worked as a graphic artist, and now she is no longer at that company either (she did get a job at another place, though). Richard, her husband, still works in the advertising department. They lost their old German shepherd last year, and recently adopted a Chihuahua named Pumpkin from the pound. What a blessing for that pup!
They are the NICEST couple!

Ms Bookworm said...

Well, better try to get some sleep. Have said prayers for everyone--including Little Man and Susan. Checking to make sure the night light and porch light are on. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are enabled. Sleep tight, and I'll try not to be a stranger tomorrow! God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]

Costume Lady said...

GOOD MORNING...
I've been watching the nest since a little after 7am and it seems shortly after that, our pair has been looking out for something flying overhead off and on for an hour or so. At one point, Belle lowered her head as though she thought something was going to land in the nest (Lib was sitting in the cup) I didn't see HP. At one point, Belle was in the nest by herself and Lib flew in and did land on top of her, but I think it was just a matter of missing the runway...he quickly rolled off her and onto his work area and placed some sticks here and there. I was videoing at the time, so I will check back and see if, indeed it was HP as Dana thought.

I wish they would lay eggs in April so we wouldn't have to worry so about snow.

Good morning all.
Saw our birds in and out a couple of times. Preparation, preparation!!

Very overcast here, with a not-so-good forecast. Getting myself geared up for a grocery run sooner rather than later. Gotta do it, even tho' I don't feel so great. Really SOB this AM.

Hear some snorting and low mewls at bear cam. Lily seems restless. Could it be her time??

Not happy about scene out back. A cat is sitting out there "watching" the squirrels on the corn. As in...ready to pounce. Hope the squirrels are fast on their feet!!! Wish people would keep their cats at home.

I don't think the noises are Hope...

I just looked at the video of Lib's clumsey landing and that is what it is...no Hanky Panky. The reason I went back and verified the HP question was because I have not seen live HP this year! They are going to be laying eggs and I have yet to see HP. It's good to know that the mating process is taking place, but it's just something that you need to see with your own eyes:) I'M WATCHING YOU L & B!

Whoops---never mind. It's closed to the public. So much for benefitting from your tax $$$

I think Lolly got pics of them HP in the nest. I'm pretty sure there are HP pics in album.

wvgal_dana said...

I was going so fast to try to get pics I couldn't tell if it was or not. Re-looking at pic I put HP or landed ontop???

wvgal_dana said...

Hedgie-Lynn aren't we suppose to get freezing rain tomorrow?

wvgal_dana said...

Everything for some reason froze up so I couldn't get the last pics of them in the nest or flying out. Had to do a reboot then nest was empty when I got back in.

hedgie said...

Snow by 6pm, Dana, and changing to sleet, freezing rain overnight and then rain tomorrow. Possible 1" ice accumulation.

Eagle just flew into the nest

Costume Lady said...

OH NO! Not ice! I haven't listened to the weather for 2 days...glad you are our weather watcher, Lynn:)
Dana, get you bread and toilet tissue today!:)

Good morning! Hope everyone had a warm and wonderful weekend.

Lolly, glad you felt like you finally had a birthday. You deserved it.

Lynn, sorry you are feeling puny. Hope it is already gone. Sounds like Mai is trying to outsmart you at every turn! Dragging her food bowls? What will she do next?

Shirley, will you hear from Susan about her free to fly today? She is still having a memorable trip just not what she had planned.

Some eagles are a little earlier this year with nestorations and such. Will give us a full season. YAY!

hedgie said...

I'm ready to head out ....anyone need anything??? LOL! Luckily, I don't need bread or milk, so if the panic shoppers are out, at least I won't have to fight for that! I NEED tissues, and lunch foods!! BBL!

floralgirl said...

Poof! Lib just flew out after sitting on the edge of nest for about 40 minutes.
