Interesting...when the den cam freezes up, it freezes up for everyone. Learned that because it just froze up on me and when I got back I looked at the chat and it had frozen up on them as well.

I used to have the view chat button but it is gone now. I just click join chat but do not join in, just view. It goes way too fast, but sometimes I want to know their opinions about something.

OK if the bear in front IS Hope, she isn't nursing, I just saw her lift her head and look to the left. It's hard to keep track of who is who when there is an interruption in the feed!
Good morning everyone :) I don't see anyone in our nest at the moment. They have shored up the sides quite a bit! The nest cup seems to be in progress, but where did all the leaves go that were there?
I would like to ask a quick favor: my mother lost her job last week, after 10 years at the same company. She has some infirmities which make working difficult, but at her age, she would reach early retirement before she would be approved for disability, so she's in limbo. She really needs another job, and soon. Would you mind, my dear friends, just sending a little positive thoughts her way?
YAY! Just got a call from my friend Barb's sister...surgery is over and the Dr said everything went very well! She is in recovery now!
Think the leaves got covered with another kind of fluff.

Yesterday morning the rs hawk was back in one of our pecan trees. He was out on the thin ends of the branch, flapping his wings to keep his balance. Then he flew off. LOL Pecan trees easily get web worms. In the winter, when the leaves are off at the ends of branches you see masses of tangled webs. The hawk was gathering the web stuff for his nest.
Mema Jo, I actually got to drive it for a while. We all went for a little ride and then me and Sissy drove to Smith Mountain Lake. Love her new car.
The last two mornings I have seen a red bellied woodpecker at the seed feeder, usually they go to the suet. He chases off all the smaller birds, hunts for what he wants in the seeds and flies off in the same direction every time. Went to anther window to see if I could see where he is going, no luck. I can almost time when he returns and repeats this action.

Had my breakfast, coffee is about gone, time to move. Not going outside as it is too cold. Guess indoor work is calling me.

Looks like our friend "Mother Carolyn" is going to have to postpone surgery for now. Waiting on more tests results but not exactly sure why just yet. I know that she's been diagnosed with early CLL which is NOT a factor, but that she had a stress test today...MTBR

Delphia, prayers for your Mom. FYI: "early retirement" does not factor in for Social Security Disability.....they go by what your full retirement age is. But a lot depends on what her infirmaments are.....you can look on their website to see what qualifies for disability retirement, but you have to have been "unable to work" for 6 months before applying. It can take a while for approval, unless it's fast-tracked for a terminal illness or end-stage renal disease, but then it's retroactive to date of application.

Boy, I'm tired! Have been cleaning up leaves, tree berries, and twigs out front. Got the parkway and the sidewalk all clean, but decided to stop. Won't have any room in the brown trash can for grass clippings, and the gardeners will be here tomorrow.
Emma is napping again. Maybe I should be, too! Have a big English exam tonight. Studied earlier today, but my brain decided to stop retaining information, so am giving it a rest. Lots of eagle activity today! YAY!!!!

I asked my super if I could watch the eagles nest since it was through a .gov web.
No problem. THEN she said, I watch a bear named Lily!

Haven't read earlier posts, but I guess some of you heard about water main break down here. In fact, Fubby found out from his Paw Paw buddy on phone this AM!!
Hasn't affected our water pressure, but we're probably in the "boil water" area. Don't have to---have bottled. I finally figured out exactly where it is---back street of industrial complex between main post office & Hampton Mall a few blocks down. Parallel to Beltway. They closed the Census Bureau in Suitland & some area schools, etc for no water.

Just saw a news story on the Lib. of Cong. hawk. Had good pics of him flying/perching up in the dome of the main reading room.They DO have netting below to keep it in tthe one area and it DID take some bait to eat but avoided getting trapped!!One smart bird-must be reading at night! ☺

ESPN is moving into Ft Worth, getting ready for Super Bowl. Sundance Square is going to be ESPN headquarters. They started setting up today. I'll say again.....I am so tired of the Super Bowl.
A few weeks before leaving the old job, I got a lady there interested in the NCTC eagles. She got really excited about it.
She, in turn, got a young lady interested in Lib and Belle. This lady had a bone removed from one of her feet and has a difficult time getting around while healing.
She is very excited about the eagles too and says thank you, thank you.

Had checked Sutton before dark, & cams were in better position. One looks down into refuge nest w/ eagle in it & other 2 show the lake nest, but bird's head was partly blocked by a board.

GAS IS $3.199 REGULAR GAS A GALLON IN VIRGINIA I JUST PAID $2.999 which isn't much better. Why does gas have to be so high even in Virginia?????? It's been there about 20 minutes now. And tonight certainly could be an egg laying night:)
Dana, I have a feeling that the price of gas and fuel oil will increase even more. The only thing that we peons can do is to dial down our thermostats and limit our car trips.
We are dialing our heat way down and burning the fireplace. I just might buy an iron kettle and cook over the fire:)

Gotta say, tho', that gas in WV is 3.19, in VA 2.99. VA is ALWAYS cheaper than here---at least in the Winchester area.

Going to watch a bit longer then need to turn my light off. Will leave the night light on for others coming in later.
I think WV has higher taxes on gas, which makes it more expensive.
