Good Friday Morning - I know all you working people are saying TGIF !
Just received by word of FB that the Italy trip is on for the Germany Guys!
I keep track of my grandkids via FB sometimes. I knew about the possibility of the Italy trip but now it is a reality. This is one place they wanted to visit before coming home to the states hopefully in December. am very happy for them.

I have been checking out FB and emails.
Mostly everyone must be out and about this morning before the heat out there is turned on.

Morning all.
Wanda, nice to hear about your granndaughters' endeavors! Good luck to her.

As I said the other day...I suspect that what is planned for the cam is a technical issue in the braodcast end of things. I don't believe that HD has anything to do the cam itself. But, no, don't see or hear any difference so far.

paula eagleholic said...

FYI - Randy at NCTC saw an adult above the nest yesterday.

hedgie said...

Jo, really glad that the kids will get to make that trip! It's just a shame that they can't get home and settled before school starts.....what grade is Sam in? 2nd?

hedgie said...

Hey, Jim....supposed to go up to around 90° again here. Some areas were super-foggy again this AM---like where Shirley's school is!

You're so right Jo. It only took me 38 years. Jillian's way ahead of the game.

Off to watch a trial. Going to tape 20/20 tonight. Serial killer. Might be able to add to course this semester. This guy was especially vicious and his family, daughter, had no clue. He was a long-haul trucker.

Wonder which one of our eagles Randy saw? Either one is still nice.

Hi, Everyone!

Well, I have worn myself out! Just got in from watering all patio plants, deadheading flowers, and putting out birdseed. It's probably about 85 out there, but it's HUMID--there's the problem. Now I really need a shower, but need to find some light lunch first, with a nice cool drink!

Would you believe I slept in until 10am after getting Hubby off to work?! Let him take the car with the working A/C--it's a lot hotter where he works, and no shade to park in, so car's frying when it's time to come home. If this keeps up, we may have to budget for an A/C fix for the other car. Sure hope it's a cold winter out here! Wouldn't wish that for you guys farther east, though. Might have to use the dreaded "S-word"! LOL :oD

Ms Bookworm said...

Yippee!! Life is good--my live feed is working again! Off to find a tall, cold drink, and some late lunch...

Interesting remarks from Dr Rogers..
Concerns the link from Hedgie at 7:17

The most recent was about a captive bear killing its keeper in Ohio. We trust wild bears far more than captive ones that can develop psychoses from captivity. Wild bears can always retreat if they feel threatened or uncomfortable, but captive bears have no escape.

The remote on my recliner is taking fits and sometimes I have to crawl out of it because the remote won't work. I called the store's service dept and they will check with Lazy Boy for a cost and let me know. Geez, if not one thing,it's another. Wish I could go back to using a bed. Tried it again with company coming but got up with such a terrible back ache it wasn't worth it.

We have to make a decision on the new furnace SOON and let the oil company know we want to lock in a price for home heating fuel. So many decisions...........

Prayers going up for all needs/wants and thanks for those answered.

Hi, Everyone!

Getting here a bit late tonight--Hubby and I have been catching up on some programs we had recorded.

Gosh, what awful manners I have! I didn't wish Steve a Happy Birthday earlier! So...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, STEVE!!! Hope it was a really special day for you!!

It's feeling cooler tonight. Hear it's supposed to get pretty hot next week, though--up into the 90s.
Yuck.

We're watching the bulldogs for my Sis-in-law and Bro-in-law starting tomorrow. They're goin' fishing in Colorado.

We went and got fast food so we wouldn't have to heat up the kitchen tonight. Gosh, I hope Calif. has a cooler than usual winter! I really don't do well when it's hot & humid. Need to go take another shower and wash my hair. Feel absolutely sticky!
Hope there are some good movies playing this weekend--we'll have to hang out where it's air conditioned!
I think the temp was about 88 today, but the humidity was high, making it feel worse.

Good news--my sore/raspy throat is gone completely! (Ask me if I miss it!)

Well, going to go shower and clean up my act. We have to go to Wal-Mart tomorrow morning--the earlier, the better.

Have said prayers for everyone. Saying a special prayer for Bill the eagle. Hope he is found! Leaving the night light on, and the porch light on for others. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are both enabled. Hope everyone sleeps really soundly, and wakes up bright eyed and bushy tailed! God bless, and goodnight. Love all of you! :o]

40 year old fridge finally died yesterday. Haven't been able to
decide what color to get...guess I'll have to take what's available now...don't have time to be picky.
We put frozen food in downstairs freezer and perishables in bar fridge, so if delivery can't be made til first of the week, we should be ok.
On top of that disaster, my hairdryer blew up in the middle of drying my hair (Bonnet type dryer).
Had to go to Family Dinner with slightly wet curls. Didn't have time to cook, so we picked up some subway subs and Gene made a cherry cobbler. Evening turned out better than the DAY:)
Posted a few photos on Just for Fun.
Have a great weekend♥

Good afternoon! Jack and I headed out early to work in the yard. I worked all morning and now I am recuperating. It is 98 and drying up again. The benefit of Wed. rain is long gone!

Talked with Laurel. Had to check on MY boys. ☺ Jacob had t-ball practice and did very well.

I apparently got a spider bite on the back of my neck yesterday. It made a huge lump and itched. Today it has made a couple of lymph glands sore. Lovely just lovely!

Need to go clean up and then I am doing nothing for the rest of the day. Oh, I might was sheets but that is all!

Oh no...I was on my way to meet Lynn and Sharon's entourage at IHOP, but, Tuesday is Soup Kitchen Day:( Sharon could stay over one more day and have a free meal with us! I would have loved that...IHOP has the best Steak Omelette!!

Just before we went out the door this morning to search for a Fridge, the big A/C in the kitchen blew up or, I guess you could say it died:( Now, we need to take a trip to Minnesota to bury a fridge, hair dryer and an A/C.

At Lowes, we found a Fridge with an ice dispenser in the door and a small dent on the side of it. They took $350 off because of that. I can put an eagle magnet there to cover up:) Also, found a gas range and new flooring...all in less than an hour! No A/C...seems all stores that we went to have sold out. I guess because of the hot Summer that we have had. Traveled to Charles Town (where the IHOP is) to Home Depot, same story there.
Will keep trying tomorrow afternoon. Stove and fridge and rug is being delivered tomorrow morning.
I think Lynn is right, they must not make the Bonnet Dryers anymore.
There is a Beauty Supply store here in town...will try them later. Too much to do. Need to empty some movable cupboards and cut the end off of one counter top because it is taking up 2inches that we need for the Fridge. And poor Capt. Gene has opted to lay the flooring himself because they wanted more than the cost of the flooring to lay it!!
I'm just grateful we were able to find a Fridge and have it delivered so soon...we'll deal with the rest of it as we come to it!

stronghunter said...

Nice Mema Jo glad they are going to get that trip to Italy.

Yes water water water....seems like all we do. Can't use hose we have to use the garden cans. Fill it and Load it trying not to make too many trips.

I just got finished watching something on tv. Don't usually have on at that hour. It was showing Berkeley PGA Tour. The funds and what all they do. WOW WOW I was surprised and truly in pressed. Building a house for a soldier to get around in a new home. Helping kids and adults with Downs Syndrome...painting, music, etc.
One blind girl it showed that they help the red cross in an area (can't remember the area). The red cross types the text books in brill and the student is in regular school and doing exceptional. I had never heard about this helping and sharing. Also the wives of the PGA Tour men. Well it showed them filling a backpack with FOOD. It is for when the child
"leaves school for the weekend-so they have food to it until they return back to school". Humbling truly humbling. How they give back. I did know that they helped with Katrina, but they also helped with fires in Australia. They give to different hospitals for children that can NOT afford the care.

Yes he once used some of the bears for wrestling with humans. He had to stop that due to it was Animal ABUSE.
The guy that was killed. Was an experienced helper with this bear he loved. SAD! Not sure if they will put the bear down.

So Bill is on the loose. They could have did the poor "eagle" a nicer legacy than to say named after Clinton LOL
Hope the public help finds him so he can be fed. Be neat if he was seen catching his own food.

Paula that is exactly what I did with the pies when Ed was still here. Loved doing that. That way you always had a dessert on hand.

Wanda that is great for Jillian. I hope she found her calling.

Just got in from mowing and saw Lynn's post about the Skins...GO SKINS!!

Mema Jo said...

Well Wanda - what color is the frig? I
thought that was going to be the incentive for the new kitchen but doesn't sound like it even entered the decision. ((hugs)) Bet you like the ice maker!

Went to Mass and met new Priest - Fr Rob. First impression is that I really like him!

Ate dinner down at Bob Evans and at 8:00 hubby is putting on the taped TV show. I thought I best get in here and
see what was going on.

Hedgie - I'll just wait to hear Mon night what time the I-Hop gang is going to be there.

Wish I could make the breakfast, I love IHOP :)

My brother and I would stop sometimes on Sunday and eat at IHOP when we were visiting Mom in the nursing home.

Gotta feed the dogs and then go water.

Someone emailed me and said Belle paid a brief visit just before 7pm tonight...so that was probably her that I heard.

Costume Lady said...

Jo, you are exactly right...the color of the Fridge didn't even enter the decision (except WHITE...NOT IN MY KITCHEN, it is too big for white). The Fridge that was on that great sale is Stainless Steel. Stove is SS/black. I truly wanted Almond, but was not available today. I am afraid of the smears that go along with SS. We have SS in the church kitchen and it does get messy. I have so much more to do in my life, than clean a fridge and stove, at this time. I would have liked one of those with "textured finish: shows nothing, much." I'll try to kept it looking good:)

Mema Jo said...

Seems as though Belle keeps stopping by checking out the nest.
Halftime...
Score: Redskins 3
Ravens 13

Wondering if Mits, a Raven's fan, and her son Kevin, a Redskins fan, are at the game?

Mema Jo said...

Wanda the two new appliances sound very pretty! It won't be until Jayden starts walking and touching everything that you will need to worry about fingerprints over the door!

hedgie said...

Halftime. Ravens 13 Skins 3.

Dana, the court hearing is for Woods, the guy they took the 94 dogs from, AND health department condemned the trailer where he lived and had them.

Cool that Belle made at least an audible visit!

paula eagleholic said...

Friend sent pics of Belle's visit, put them on the Yahoo group!

Good Evening Everyone.
Oh No, Lynn, Skins are behind! It's their fault we didn't go to local car meet---Mall where it's held is very close to stadium. We could have gone to Baltimore or Prince Frederick, but those seemed a little far at the end of the day.
So, Fubby switched back to Bristol Nascar Race & then went to bed!
Read of Wanda's appliance demise & Diann's chair & furnace. Soon we'll have our own junkyard.
Love your dinner pics, Wanda.
Was planning to really clean house today, as company is coming tomorrow, but played w/pictures, etc. instead!!Guess I get up early & vacuum.
Gotta check the sports...

hedgie said...

Congrats to the Ravens and their fans. :(

We actually had 23 drops of rain before it got dark. Big hairy deal!

Wanda, you have mail!

Hi all, I miss you! we've been SOOOOO busy with so much the last few days. I had quite an unexpected guest in my kitchen today, I'll post on my blog tomorrow about it with pictures.

I've not had much of a chance to read back, but I hope everyone is doing well.

More yardwork tomorrow, weather permitting, and then off to Irvine so Steve and I can help Tracey for a couple of hours.

Prayers for you all....hope to be back blogging soon!

hedgie said...

Bet you are ready to fall into bed, Lynne!! Slow down, girl!

hedgie said...

Well, dear friends, I am saying my goodnights now. Gonna catch the news and take my bath and hit the pillows. See all y'all in the morning. Peace and prayers.

Thank goodness this day has come to an end and I can go to bed and get some sleep:) Seems like a 48 hour day, but it was productive.

Lynn put a bug in my ear about the possibility of ordering an A/C on the internet and having it delivered to the corresponding store to avoid shipping charges.
GOOD IDEA LYNN!

GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS

Hi, Everyone!

Getting here very late, for sure! We spent the afternoon and early evening at my Sis-in-law's and Bro-in-law's house. She had a pork roast there that she wanted us to make and take home with us. She had thawed it out already, but had made pork chops earlier this week. It needed to be baked and eaten, before it spoiled. We sliced some Braeburn apples and added to it, and put some white wine (about an inch and a half) in with it. It turned out SO good! Added some chicken broth to the juice and made gravy. You can also slice in some sweet onions and add bacon slices. REALLY good! Flavor was amazing!

Wanda, so glad that you found a 'fridge and a stove! Boy, I could use a kitchen makeover too. We have a fairly new refrigerator, and a dishwasher a few years old that match the wall oven. Now we need a new cooktop and new countertops. Also need to redo the fronts of the cupboards. Won't be able to do it for a while, but we can start a list! Hope you are able to find a new A/C tomorrow!

Well, fading fast, so think I'll say goodnight. Prayers have been said for everyone. The night light and the porch light are on. The eye-scanner security and Dana's thumbprint-scanner security are both enabled. Sleep well, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight! Love each and every one of you! :o]

Good morning!

Went out to eat with Kathryn, Hunter, and Kathryn's across-the- street neighbor lady. We went to Firebirds. It was excellent. Also found some nice little shops nearby.

Tom was at a Kiss concert at Nissan Pavilion. Kathryn actually asked if I know who Kiss is. Yes, I do know that much! She said she figured I did since they've been around awhile. That they have. Kathryn had decided not to go to the concert since she hadn't felt too well this past week, but she was up to an early night out.

GOOD MORNING...
Another pretty morning here in Nestville. 72°, going up to 86°.
The sun is shining on a wet garden and lawn...we had R-A-I-N last night! Now that the days are not so scorching hot and the nights are pleasant, garden plants and flowers are looking good:)

Well, Redskin fans, it was an ugly game, wasn't it? We need to weed out a few players. I would have weeded them ALL out, last night! There was some really bad officiating, but that isn't why we lost. I despise bad calls...it's just not fair to the players. When a play is shown over and over again and it is obvious that the ref. is mistaken, can't do anything about it, unless the coach throws that RED flag...HEY COACH, THROW THAT RED FLAG!!
Pre-season is no different, to me, than the rest of the season. You are either good or not. OK, Skins, we'll let you have one loss:)

Shirley, what kind of restaurant is Firebirds? Is it a chain? Good that Hunter gets to go places with his Grandma...he will grow up remembering these times:)

I was just reading Andrea's account of cooking a Pork Roast. That sounds really good...apples, onions, bacon, wine and a savory gravy. That will be on the menu next Family Friday! Sounds easy, too. THANKS YOU ANDREA♥

Lowes will be here between 12pm and 2pm. I need to check out the cleanliness of the stove and fridge. Can't have movers telling people that the "costume lady" down on Gosling Marsh Rd. had dried gravy and such running down the sides of her stove or that the fridge was full of fingerprints;)

Have a blessed Sunday♥

hedgie said...

Good Sunday morning.
I see we have some trees in the nest! Suspect they are just dropped leaves/twigs cause don't think they could have sprouted and leafed that fast! LOL.
Was greeted by my hard-shelled friend this morning when I let the dog out. She's a picky gal---apparently doesn't like lettuce. But she came crawling to me the minute I called out "Myrtle!"

hedgie said...

Wanda, you are exactly right about the game!! Don't know when the roster cut happens, but think there will be some on that list after last night that probably weren't on it before the game! Guess that's the whole purpose of preseason.
Yep, Andy's roast sounds delicioso. Wish I had one in the freezer for today! Bet I could do the same thing with boneless country-style ribs, tho', and think I do have them.
Remember when I replaced my fridge a few years ago....Bill laughed at me for cleaning it before Lowe's got here!!

hedgie said...

Yes, we had about 123 drops of rain last night here.......supposed to get more today....we shall see!

Just call me a city slicker now. We finally got moved into our new home in Huntsville, AL. Things are still a mess with boxes all over but we are getting there. I'll post some pics once we get situated. Maybe I can get back to nature soon. Sure will miss the old place though.
