A NICE NEW MONDAY THREAD...THANKS, STEVE:)
Good Morning Wanda - you're #1 all the time. I just watched GG's b-day video.. She is just amazing!Must have had a few (very few) raindrops earlier this morning. Enjoy your day everyone - make it a good one.
I think I have missed everyone...I have so little time to be on here, these days, and when I am, everyone has gone to work, eat or watch TV (or in Lolly's case, gone to mow!)For those who have asked about GG's health...check he out on a Birthday video on my blog, Just For Fun. She was like a young girl during her party and she didn't even mention going to bed;)
GOOD MORNING TO YOU, JO.So good to have you back!
Speaking of EM photo albums... I have extending the July album to include August since, as Lynn mentioned, there may be few and far between captures of Lib, Belle or Palmer in the nest.
Good idea, Jo!Hi, Wanda! Enjoyed the video, too.Well, time to drag out the vacuum cleaner here. STILL NO RAIN....but cloudy and comfortable.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxGooD Morning,EveryOne.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx[:~D] Jim
Most of you had gone to bed last evening when I posted this:Although Open House is in October - Lynn and Wanda are pulling it all together!Okay Lollie - Jack is making something out of wood that is 12" tall and is fantabulous and you don't have one! Tune in next week for another clue! I know I want it! lol Oh yes, Janet & Russ have seen it but there aintnoway they will tell.
I guess I need to water the gardens...I forgot to do the RAIN DANCE;(
That should get you interested about the Saturday evening dinner raffle in October. I have 2 squirrels on the deck railing..one at either end. They are making their way towards each other by eating the peanuts. They should bump heads shortly. Going to be interesting to see who gets the last peanut. lol
GOOD MORNING to Lynn and JimHave a great day!
Thanks, Wanda. I just watched part of the B-Day party. Looks like GG and everybody else had a great time.[:~D] Jim
Good Morning Jim. Looks like more rain is coming our way - Hold up Wanda, you may not need to water! Taking a break since I haven't eaten anything yet today! Guess you may call it an early lunch. This retirement canget to you! I'm loving life!BBILW
Good morning! Have been over on fb and while there attended GG's birthday party. Fantastic! Presently 85 and going up again today to over 100. We registered 101 yesterday and Laurel 105. Hate this!Heading out shortly to bathe the trailer. It will then be ready to go to its home. Taking it out again at the end of the month. My great niece who plays volleyball at a college in NY is playing in a tournament at College Station. (A&M). Many of the family will be there. Fun! Elizabeth is from the Houston area and got a full scholarship to Siena in NY. This will be her sophomore year.
Have a great day! I am off to scrub a trailer!BBL
The whole crew is back at BWO.[:~D] Jim
Hi, Mema Jo,We are running a cloudy, humid 63° now in So Cal, but it is all supposed to burn off and the temp peak out at over 80 today.[:~D] Jim
Glad you all took the time to look at GG and the good health she is enjoying now. I know birthday videos can be boring, but the best part is near the end, when Jayden has a taste of the cake and then cries when his grandma and gggrandma give him napkins to appease him when they know he wants CAKE;) He is 8 months old now. He has a toy rag dog and he says WOOF when he plays with it:)
lOOK at the size of that fish the oldest BWO fledgling caught!!C(°?°)3 Jim
Su Lin is enjoying her "5" B-day cake-sickle at San Diego. Take a look.C(°?°)3 Jim
BWO must be losing some white feathers, and they are stuck up in the air over her head from between her wing and her body... peculiar looking.C(°?°)3 Jim
That should have been "BWO Mom".C(°?°)3 Jim
Good afternoon and happy friendship day to all our eagle buddies.Going to catch up a bit before PT and after we're going to try and find the falcon chicks that fell in the river but were rescued by boaters and placed on an island.Hope we see some Peregrines!bbl
Havinng some trouble placing this post. Maybe now?Sorry, my delete. Duplicate.Well, off to PT....
Hope you see the falcons, Diann!
Trailer is washed and did some work in the yard, but not much. Up to 97 and rising. :(
Cicada must be on the mic box at our nest!
A few drops of rain here. Not enough to get excited about.
Sun is out here. AC running. No rain... :(
Afternoon Everyone! Been outside mostly. Put on the cam earlier & I think there's a high pitched hum as well as the cicadas!Had to turn it off. Was hoping for some Palmer chirps!Strange things are going on at the wren house. May or may not mean anything. Altho Ms. Wren does go out for awhile, today she came back w/white residue on her beak. (Mr.) Wrenny has come to the house at least 3 times that I've seen and brought food!!??I never saw him feed her when we had the terrible hot weather.Very suspenseful & only time will tell.
Wanda, so wonderful that GG was in such good spirits. I just could tell she had a wonderful time.Yep, Jim. Three birthdays this week at San Diego. Diego is on Aug. 5th.Have a good session of PT, Diann, and hope you see the falcons. No rain here. Just sort of overcast.Been doing some school prep and some cooking. We have a National Night Out Against Crime pot luck every year. So the cooking was for tomorrow night.Did get doctor appt. next Monday. Have typed up symptoms. We'll see if there is any interest in figuring out cause-effect. Probably not.BBL
Loweeda, wonder what was on the wren's beak? Seems odd. Hope for baby wrens soon.
Judie, glad you got an apptmt.!I remember your pot luck dinner last year. What did you fix to take?Lowreeda, sounds like positive signs of a hatch!! My nature report for the day: chickadees and a red-headed woodpecker---haven't seen any of them for a while. Young doe. And am now convinced that my wrens have their nest IN the woodpile. Too many comings and goings in and out for it to be anything else!
Cleaning is finished, except for the dogs' cushion on the sofa---wake up, Cinnamon! Optical migraine starting...gotta close my eyes for awhile. CAN ONLY SEE HALF OF EVERYTHING. BBL.
Boo Hoo, didn't go to see the falcons. After PT I was too sore so had to come home and get an ice pack. Maybe tomorrow. In the meantime, I emailed a birder friend to see on what island they may be and if there is easy access to watch. Now, it's suppertime. bbl
Forgot to mention what a wonderful video of GG's B'Day!!!!Wanda mentioned she thought great egrets were in Florida. One of my books shows year round range the entire coast of Gulf and Atlantic up to about NC, BUT breeding range is most of Eastern 1/2 of country except New England. And they are expanding their range. The huge Great White Heron (form of Great Blue) is only in Florida. I keep hoping one might stray, so always check legs. Egrets are black.I thought heron in tree was very dark--was in breeding plumage but must be the shade, too.BTW, saw Wrenny out the window bring morsel to house & Ms. took it in her beak!!?? Mystery continues~~~ If there are no little chirps in a few, then nothing hatched.
Wanda, there used to be an egret that lived on Butts Mill Rd. at a pond for several years......don't know what happened or if it stayed longer....I stopped driving that road everyday 19 yrs. ago come 9/15 (when I moved here!).
Nope....make that 18 yrs. ago!!
Hi, Everyone,Well, the kids are on the way home. They should land in Dallas just about 7:20 pm Texas time. Sure was wonderful having them for a visit! Figured out that it had been over 2 years! Miss them already! :o[Good to be back here, though. Took the time to watch the video of GG's Birthday party--it's a keeper! GG never fails to amaze!Am very tired, but have school tonight--till almost 10 pm! Better go look for some food. Think I need some fuel! Will be back later, probably after school. Have a good evening, everyone! :o]
Oh, I just realized--I didn't have time to make any coffee this morning! Need caffeine. Will be back much later.
Wow....Mitch Miller died.....I never even realized he was still alive! 99 y.o.!
LOL----email from Christie. She had chicken nuggets for lunch....Cancun is a long way to go for that kind of meal!!
Lynn, no need to remind us that Mitch Miller died at 99. How old do I have to feel, girlfriend?Dinner over. Pasghetti w/meatballs. Not great but okay. Might have enjoyed chicken nuggets more.Andy, happy you had quality time with with daughter. Have a good school night.Dana, sorry you didn't get to see the falcons. Just hope the soreness from PT disappears like right now!Lynn, please let the headache be gone to never-never-again land. Hope you feel better by now. Taking meatballs in a sort-of bbq sauce--recipe been around for a gazillion years - equal parts catsup (or chili sauce) and grape jelly. Also, some dill smashed potatoes.Cinnamon -- hold that sofa cushion! Don't let mama get to it. She needs to be getting rid of that nasty headache. Hold your ground girl!Been wondering. Don't often see a comment about MM or M&M. Have I missed something?Think I'll go catch the news. BBL
Trailer at its home, now to start dinner. Saw 101 today, now down to 96.6.....a cool front. Groan!
Mrs. Wren has white stuff on her beak and it never occurred to you that she may be into cocaine? Sounds like she is going into the nest box to sleep off her high, not taking care of babies:) Surely when all is said and done, she will come out of this with "Bird Brain";)
Judie, Judie, Judie......you are not old enough that Mitch's passing at 99 should make you feel old!!! Would you believe, I still have scads of his records---they were my folks'---but I remember well watching the show and listening to those LP's!Not to worry....my optical migraines are virtually painless...just distorting visually!!No, dear, you haven't missed anything being posted. Mits and Ceil just don't post anymore. All are well....except that Mary Margaret is probably going to be having some retinal surgery soon.BTW----it was Diann who had PT today and missed the falcons.Love spaghetti; have that same meatball recipe!
My proof that the Lord takes care of me:....Gene and I were talking about how much we would love one whole day at home, with no where to go.I went into GG's and as I was doing her pills, she said "It's not fair to you to have to come in here every day and take care of me". "Why don't you come in every other day. I can somehow manage to figure out which pills to take. WELL...I nearly fell to my knees with thanks! I quickly fixed her up with enough doses of meds to get her into Wednesday and wrote what day they were for. I put them into little snack bags. So, I told her that I wouldn't see her at all tomorrow and she seemed excited to be trying something on her own!I'm so anxious to see how she does, on her own. If she does well, I could go back to visits, every other day. That would help me to catch up on so many tasks.Gotta get those Halloween costumes out of their boxes and on hangers...steamed if necessary. Wahoo!
I haven't seen Ceil or Mits here in awhile :(Pasghetti sounds good!gonna take the dogs for a walk....bbl
Lynn, hope you shake that migraine. Is it painful or just strange? When I've had ocular migraines, I see strange colors but there is no pain. Scared me badly until I saw a doctor. Not long ago, Rus told me he has them too. He said the first time, he was taking an algebra test in high school. He told the teacher what he was seeing, and she didn't believe him. He didn't mention it to me.
Missing Ceil and Mits.
Hi all...just popping in to say hello! Another busy day. Lynn, I hope your migraine goes away. UGH.Got some chores to do and heading to bed early tonight. Saw a butterfly today that made me a little sad. Pic on blog.Prayers for all!
Really heard the cicadas here on my walk tonight...nice night out, nice breeze.
BTW....I have tried several times to upload my caterpillar video but it won't upload...anyone have any thoughts? Maybe too long? It's about 2 minutes.
Hi Everybody. I am getting verrrry sleepy!Hope Judie is feeling better.Wanda, how great aabout GG. Hope it works out.BTW, saw your assessment of Ms. Wren and coc. Well something else happened to her nose. This PM, right before dinner, I was out and saw her start to come out of house. The front of her head looked like a clown nose!!!It was roundish, pinkish tan & she flew to the top of the tree. I never saw anything fall nor item on the ground. Fubby mentioned that it might be eggshell! Possibly, but on one of her trips away, she did not return w/food---DUH
Lynne, I've loaded some on blogger, but they were not that long. Paula might know--she's the expert! ☺ Wanda just loaded that 9 minute one.Good luck.
Nice video of GG's birthday, Wanda!Lynne - how was the perch?
Lynne - I haven't had any luck lately trying to put a video on my blog via blogger...I've had to use youtube.
Wanda's video was on youtube... not on blogger.
Wanda, sounds like a good experiment to see how GG does. My sis goes in to Mom's 3 times a week---4 the weeks she cleans for her.Not to worry, Shirley....no pain with my oc. mig. and vision is fine after about 30 mins. But, yeah, it's a strange thing!Yeah, I miss Mits and Ceil being on here, too. Norma, too.
Just wacked a HUGE gnat...and it went down into the keyboard....and was crawling around under the keys. Finally got it out with a toothpick. Dumb bug.
Hubby and I have been watching some tv shows. I am getting sleepy eyed and not going to last much longer.Great plan for GG, Wanda. A Phone call on the days you don't go over may be reassuring in the beginning.
Lynn - I didn't know you were agnat whacker! lol
Nice pics Loretta and Lynne...
Wanda, what about trying to get that helper in there on the other days...at least for the help with the pills...and a phone call is a great idea, Jo.
Phone calls don't work, Jo...she can't hear well enough to understand what you are trying to tell her. But, I did tell her to call me if she need help with anything.
OK, here's the problem...GG doesn't hear the door bell ring. Now, if she is in the Kitchen and just happens to be facing the bell, it will flash a few times to let her know she has a visitor. We could have Meals on Wheels brought to her and someone to give her her pills...if she could only hear the door bell. She takes pills 4 different times in a day, so that would mean 4 trips for a helper. We'll work something out:)
Doesn't look like Margy will make it on here again before heading to work. Guess she is having to hustle---hoping that means she slept real well!
Need that Air Bag, right about now:) Head is bobing up and down.GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDSSWEAT DREAMSPRAYERS FOR ALL
Wanda, it's truly a constant worry for you, I know. There are no easy answers.......
Me, too....goodnight to all.Peaceful sleep. Prayers for all. Sending up some extras for Karen---please join me. She isn't doing well.
TV is turned off -- Eyes are slowly closing --Daughter comes tomorrow --Going to be HOT again so I am staying insideGood night to all of you and prayers for each and every one of you - Karen does need our prayers.Hugs to all ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Have been vegging out watching TV. Going to put my nose in a book for a while and then head to bed.Laurel and the boys will be here around 10 in the morning. Then shopping we will go.Keeping Karen in my thoughts and prayers.Hoping you are feeling better, Lynn.Nite all! Sweet dreams!
Have to say goodnight everyone. I'm really tired and sleepy. Probably the meds.Prayers for all wants/needs.God bless
Hi, Everyone,I just got home from school. Am trying to catch up on the blog, but my eyes are VERY tired! Took LOTS of notes tonight--next-to-the-last English class, and the teacher had lots to cover. Our final exam is next Monday. It will count 40%, and the other 2 exams will count 30% each toward our final grade. I got a high B+ on the second exam--it was a doozie! Lots of people did horribly on it, so I can't complain! Will be studying like a crazy person for the final, though.Lynn, hope your migraine goes away VERY soon! Glad it isn't painful, but must be annoying! Sorry to hear that Mitch Miller has passed on--remember watching him on TV and listening to his old 78 records of my Mom & Dad's. Gosh, Judie, hope you are feeling better. Know what it is to feel exhausted and overmedicated. Dr. had me quit taking one blood pressure med a couple of years ago--I was a train wreck! Felt like I was practically catatonic! The replacement med is much better. Now I can stand up without turning white as a sheet, and I don't fall asleep every time I sit down! Wanda, this may sound crazy, but have you ever considered getting GG a service dog? A dog could alert her when the phone or the doorbell rings. Just a thought... Might be really nice for her to have a furry companion, too. Actually, those dogs are amazing, and can help to do all kinds of things around the house. We got a text message from the kids, and they arrived home OK at DFW Airport at about 7:30 Texas time. They couldn't wait to get home, see the kids, and SLEEP! They were heading for their car to drive home. Both have to go to work tomorrow, so praying that they get some quality rest tonight!Diann, hope you feel less painful in the morning. PT can do wonders, but it sure can be uncomfortable! Prayers that you'll feel MUCH better!Prayers for Karen too! She's always on my mind and in my prayers.Well, I am pretty tired tonight. Am leaving the night light on, and the porch light, too. The eye scanner security is enabled, and so is Dana's thumbprint-scanner security. (Dana, hope you are feeling better! ((HUGS))and prayers!)Sleep well, everyone, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Prayers said for everyone. God bless, and goodnight! Love all you guys! :o]
Sorry--that was my double posting--deleted one of them!
Good Morning to Diann, Lolly and Andy this fine Eagle day and to ALL that come in.HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAYS TO ALL THOSE THAT I MISSED--SORRY. HEALTH ISSUES FOR NOT BEING ON COMPUTER. WORKING RIGHT NOW WITH ONE EYE.Had my treatment for spine & right leg. Been going there sincce 2006. Never had such pain when he was doing it..He had to stop let me breath 4 times. He still says, "Your my toughie". Meaning I can do it. Never a quiter. It is helping until I had to go after a cat. Which mean't going down the steps. So it is acting up some. Plus cat allergy acting up very badly cause cat has destroyed all my plants on my railing and porch. Lady feeds them but when she wanted one. Didn't take one of them inside to become her cat. Had her husband get her a different one. She won't even find homes for them. Thanks for letting me vent--not cats fault is ladies fault.Hope Carolyn is liking her job.Prayers for those that need them.
Andy you should be a doctor when you get these classes finished. You have done what a lot can't do...way to go lady!!! (:Prayers always being sent for KAREN, Julie and Karen's mother and friends.Diann keeping you in prayer. I know you really was hoping to get to see those falons. Maybe you stillwill...hope so.Judie hope dr. can figure it out and help you.Lynn tell Christie that's not a Cancus meaL LOLWanda whenever I read about your wren. I think of my wren that has such a nice home until the cat climbed onto the electric pole reached top of electric box and then to the wren house. It tore and toreuntil it got hole bigger put paw/claws in and pulled out the babies which were about to fledge.ggrrrrrrrrrrrr That lady needs to learn respect for others. She surely isn't going to pay me for destroyed plants. Plus allergy drops and meds and drs. appt. She "should not" be feeding them!!! Berkeley Co. says they can take care of themselves.grrr bad lady
Cancun Meal lolFriends husband ran off left her and 2 kids. Went to Cancun and worked there where he could get his "drugs" easier. Worked as a tourist guide. He got out of paying any child support that way. I told her he was going to die young. Keep the insurance policy---it paid off last year....Someone stole my spell check tee hee
Good morning, A service dog sounds like a good idea for GG. Is it hard to get one? I was surprised to see a large poodle in Walmart the other day. I did a double-take and saw that it was a service dog. I had not thought of poodles as service dogs, but it makes sense as they are really smart.
Hi Dana. Good to hear from you this morning.
Good morning all! Hope everyone is feeling chipper!I REPEAT......I am fine. The optical migraine is no biggie. No Pain. Only lasts 30 min. Just a strange visual disturbance! Don't give it a second thought!!I am posting this link....thankful these people did what they did, but think MORE should have been done....Osprey Rescue
VICKY IF I MISSED YOUR BIRTHDAY ---HAPPY BELAED BIRTHDAY LADY...

Last nights' Lily&Hope report:Bears
I tuned in to Finney's site, and I'm thinking she might have started her migration, because the male and one of the fledglings was there.Tuned in again; nest empty. Third time; one of the fledglings is "guarding" the nest. Early Aug. is when the female usually starts back south in Finland, so ....C(°ٿ°)D Jim
Am getting an "Internal Server Error" this A.M. every time I try to open the IWS (Catalina) site.C(°ٿ°)D Jim
Got really sick and tired of feeding the ants, so moved the hummer feeder a couple of days ago....so far no ants, but NO hummers, either. Hmmmm. Even from the distance, tho', can see them around and on neighbors feeder.Had first visual sighting of a cicada this morning.
Yep, Jim, it is that time of year; they are also watching closely for Isla's departure at Loch of Lowe's. Chances are she will never be seen again once she leaves... :( she's a grand ol' gal.
Hedgie, there's a sure way to keep ants out of the feeder. I learned it on the INet somewhere.Ants smell and taste with their feet (weird enough), and they will not walk on a greasy or oily surface. So, all you have to do is put something like vaseline on the bracket and/or the hanging device on the feeder. Just put a band of it around the wire or metal hanger on the feeder. [I've been using an old can of Crisco, which still has a lot of transfat]No ants since I started... You do have to refresh the application a couple of times a year, because it attracts dirt and "dries out."C(°ٿ°)D Jim
Guess what this week is? Sturgis, SD bike week!! Remember when Deb went? Wondering how the family memorial went in Yankton last weekend...and how the osprey release has gone? Will look and see if Janie has posted any pics on NWBOP.
Gee, Jim...that sounds easy enough! Thanks for the tip! Will definitely do try that!
Only 2 bikes showing on Sturgis cam....but a very limited view. Will need to get on PC and look for link from previous yrs. to see if better view.Nothing posted on BOP site yet about this years' osprey release in SD.
Hi all....FYI... Northern LightsEven though most are NOT in this area, never say never, I've seen them 3 times over the last 12 years here during high solar flares!
*****************New Thread !!Come on over.*****************C(°ٿ°)D Jim
my goodness, cicada on the mic!! How annoying is that sound!
VERY, VERY strange sounds at our nest...........hard to describe....nature or mechanical????
Sounds like maybe an insect as it revs up, but then like a motor when it's winding down........very strange!
Jim is right. There is a NEW THREAD
