Don't know where Dad went after he got out the door...I think he was captured before he could hitch a ride anywhere. I think he was trying to come home. He couldn't speak, so we never found out.
I know Tuesday night is the Great Television Night...I think my one show will be the 25-Alive reports of the fire at the nursing home here in Martinsburg - Awesome job by the responders, Fire/EMS/Police, Public School personnel and many volunteers
I want to go back and read today's posts... So here I go....I see there is some new egg news so I must catch up! Good Late Evening, Friends xo ☺
Tomorrow: Rain and snow in the morning. The rain and snow will become lighter and change to all rain in the afternoon. High 41F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of precip 90% Ice accumulation about 1/4 inch before warmer temps melt it.
Please no more weather reports :( I am still on call this week and could get snagged for some early morning rough stuff....but got to get the vehicle in to the shop because I have NO HEAT !!!
Good Night to those heading for the feather pillows....still catching up on today's news....so I'll be up for a little while still
Prayers for wellness and comfort, safety and warmth in all our Eagle Corners! xox ♥
Wanda It was Heartland, some sort of electrical problem somewhere that included the basement, a building full of smoke, and everyone had to be evacuated, building not habitable tonight for sure, will catch more of it on the news shortly. I was about to leave...fire alarm call came in, and back to the work station for another 135 minutes... The incident was handled extremely well by the responders, and our OES Director was a real king pin, as were many of the other "Incident commanders." As Hedgie mentioned, help was summoned from all over, and many agencies in and out of county respondede, including the VA Center as well, and several private ambulance companies, ALL our volunteer companies and paid departments, etc.
There were people helping transport wheelchairs from the nursing home to the school, in pick up trucks...I think I saw where the North Middle School, used as the shelter, is closed Wednesday....I agree, unimaginable
North Middle School closed Wednesday North Middle School just outside Martinsburg, W.Va., will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 18, because it will serve as an evacuation site for Heartland Nursing Home. Heartland was evacuated Tuesday night after a fire was discovered in the basement. Check back to www.herald-mail.com for updates and read the full story in Wednesday’s Herald-Mail.
Margy, when you get a chance, check out the edited photo of you at the train station. I fooled around with it and I believe it is better...it shows more of the pretty balconies of the building. Mary Margaret did a fine job, taking that photo on a train that is faster than a speeding bullet:)
For some reason I have missed any news about it. Just wonderful, since I have just started up. Laurel and all her friends do it and she had been urging me to join so I finally did. It has been fun. Sorry to hear that and will check into it.
Wonder why? It was really so simple to get it up and going. I am still learning all that you can do. I now have 37 friends. LOL It is interesting to be in close contact with brief messages.
Well, after several hours of not being able to get on the net, finally made it here. Still can't open my homepage or mail. Maybe AOL is having a problem, too!
Margy, most recent traffic has been about evacuating 44 from North Middle...many going to Jefferson and VA...
The weather report is that this will basically be a non-event....hope they are right. But just let the dog out and it feels VERY raw already...and no stars or moon visible.
Hedgie Thanks for the updates on the continuing shifting of patients to other facilities...many places called to offer assistance. Such a heartache, for those folks to be displaced, on a cold winter's night. God Bless All those involved in their rescue and care !
I read a great article by Scott Shalaway about Shed Antlers, will wait and post some of the info Wednesday. Finally answered some of my questions about all that. Shalaway is a naturalist stationed in Marshall Co, WV (not far from Pittsburgh) and writes an article that appears in the Martinsburg Journal every Sunday ☺
Here's a blog article on 'The Weaning of ZZ'. Apparently, they are up to 18 hours of separation now and getting close to the permanent separation time....
Officially today the Valmont GH owl's eggs have apparently failed. This is the same occurrence as last year and the female laid a second clutch. Asking us to stay tuned!
Thanks Jo. I will certainly pay you for then and the postage. Sure do appreciate it. We have collected them for our hiking sticks from all over the world.
Morning all...cam is fine here, just saw egg roll, eagle sleeping now with head tucked back...patch of snow, sleet rain,- whatever it will be by the time it gets here-not far away now..
Weather has arrived Martinsburg, slow snowflakes coming down, probably headed towards the nest right about now...Parent eagle all ooched down and getting ready for it.
Nice to see those Peonies and yuou again, Megan
Hi Red Bet you AND the pooch will be having Panda Naps today ☺

I was so excited yesterday about TH egg.
The blogger cop kept getting me. I couldn't type in comments. Seems like when I have 2 HR or WE up that has been happening.

This is even more interesting its not Alyssa. Its Anne -Marie. My daughter in law must have an account with momsters and I didnt know it. I'm on her computer.
I have two more days here in Idaho and then I head back to Calif. Its been wonderful seeing the kids and seeing how well they are doing and how happy they are. I havent read any of the blog so how is everyone else doing?
Dana it snowed here yesterday. Nothing big but it was fun. We are going to take a ride to the hills with the kids today to play in the snow. I have Brandon with me , my 8 year old. He is having fun playing with his cousins.
Oh my goodness was he surprised. He even cried . It took me a while to calm him down. It took us 51/2 hours to get over the Sierras usually a 2 hour trip. Cal trans was slowing every one down and I saw no reason for it. Just some slush.

Apparently no third egg this year at NBG as well... But two is a good number.
Good Late Wednesday Morning! Good to see our Pink Peony Floralgirl this am! All birds & eggs accounted for! Happy to hear that both GH Owls are in their hutch - maybe we will get a new clutch! Hello Alyssa - Happy for you & Brandon having so much fun! Hair cut at 1:00 - Should be able to take myself! Weather isn't too bad!
Good morning all! Oh, I do not like that video!!! I want NBG to be highly successful this year! Please no repeat!
Looks like we are going to have a beautiful day here. Sunshine and temps in the high 60's and possibly low 70's. Jack has gone to buy new fence. We are going to replace some existing fence, so it looks like a day outside. Wahoo! My kind of day!
My daffodils continue to bloom. Many more open and my tulips are up, but no sign of blooms yet. Jasmine is blooming and the red-buds are showing red. Hang in there guys and gals!
Have not heard back from OK. Hope I do! I will write them again if I have too!
Well, I am staying on facebook. Read the news on the Internet this morning.
Hello everyone. We are driving down I64 almost in Charlottesville. I pray they can get all of this mess fixed for me. Will let you all know something as soon as I do. Sissy is driving me so one of us will be in touch. Love you all dearly!!
Blog was already signed in to Sissy's name so I am just leaving it there! :)
Okay Sharon and Sissy: Double up and do battle and knock that ailment square between the eyes! Our prayers are with you both, for safe travels, and fast healing, Sharon.... Glad you are together... Sisters Rock ! ☺ ☺ ♥ ♥
Howdy Jo - my work schedule all goofed up this week....I am off today, work midnight shift for a 6-hour stint, then back Friday for there 12's - then off for one whole week ! ☺
Off, Deb, by working the week-end it puts me at 48 hours, so I took two days off to go with my regular days off and it adds up to 7 off ☺ - I could get snagged NEXT week-end (Feb 28 - Mar 1) possibly, but still it's a bunch of freed☺m...
I think Our Bird is getting antsy... Colo eagle was just on an egg roll, and I finally have Okla up
Sure planning on it MITS! ☺ I'm going to Annandale, Va and then Ruxton (near Baltimore) Monday and Tuesday to visit with two older sisters, then back home Tuesday night.. ☺
Just watched the Drama at Norfolk from earlier...don't like to see that! What's the thought on the unwelcome visitor? Thanks for posting that Deb I couldn't get Norfolk to come up, just a black screen
Two owls still at Valmont... nice views, wonder they are thinking about.....
Great pictures to see at BWO...just think, eaglets soon at BWE...☺
No solid ideas on the Maine Forum, Margy. A few saw a flash of white and thought it might be a gull. Maybe the camera people will come up with some better pictures.
I looked at the video clip of NBG's intruder this A.M. and stopped it mid frame too. But it is a blur of gray with a definite white marking or two streaked into the blur.
Not sure of the species, but it does look possibly smaller than an eagle, and it appeared to be flying straight down, which eagles or owls seldom do...if ever.
It sure got both parents excited and ready to fight whatever it was.
If you are having troubles with your computer and it's on the old side...like mine is getting to be, the economic downturn is producing some very good deals in new machines right now.
Good point, Jim My email program must think I am crazy, it sends two of every email once in awhile...like I can even get through ONE copy of them... going to get taxes done this afternoon, then your suggestion might be even more attractive ☺
I had an ultra sound on my neck arteries this morning and they look better than a year ago. Another result of quitting smoking. Friday I go in for an induced stress test and ultrasound of my heart stent. No problems. Just annual tests.
Ok, good show, Mits....sure glad she "retired," huh....Bless her heart....Send her our l♥ve... and maybe we will see her next week to do that in person !
I missed the egg roll, guess that is just going to happen sometimes...can't be in too many places at the same time...
Hello everyone!! We are in the ER at UVA, waiting. First we came to the ER, then the doctor's office, now back to the ER. Don't know anything yet, still nothing done!!!
Good afternoon, my friends of fine feathers and fur. I am sitting in the hallway on a stretcher in the ER. The nurse just informed me that there have been people here for 4 days. I told her I would not, however, be in here for 4 days. Getting more and more frustrating all the time. The medical student that I saw in one of the surgeon's office said it would have to be drained and they could not do that in their office.
My biggest prayer is that my sister does not kill anybody or get arrested.
I'm here...finally. Hope it lasts. Afraid to leave the page to check to see if I am out of Hughes prison yet! Red, sounds like you are living right!! Anne Marie, google-based bloggers can use the same name on any google-based blog. So Alyssa may not be a momster---tho' she should be to keep up with her MIL!!! LOL! SO glad you are enjoying your trip, and that Brandon is having fun! Margy...what was the word on the heat?? Thanks to you and Mits for expressing my frustrations! Sharon AKA Sissy!! ☺ , we are waiting anxiously to hear what you find out...hope it is good news.

Margy, most recent traffic has been about evacuating 44 from North Middle...many going to Jefferson and VA...
My first thought, when I heard the news, was, no one should ever post a comment or photo that they don't want others to see. DUH!
Maybe they are more of the folks who need O2.
Wanda, revised pic looks good! Also, thanks for posting the cat/eagle pic....a lot said they couldn't open it when I sent it out.

It's looking like two eggs will be the total at NBG this year.
The female is fast asleep with her head tucked back under her wing.
Remembering back to last year, I think she laid a total of 6 eggs. Probably a good year to cut back.

Yes, The more windows or cams your have open the slower your PC will become. To make it better you will need to install or add more memory. My Pc has 1 gigabyte of memory and I seldom have a problem.
Red mine is 1 gig don't have much on it either.
It only happens when I have 2 of the IWS sites open at one time.
Belle maybe is getting snow on her/his back.
Dana, if you can add more memory it would still help.
Thanks Red more snow on Eagles back at our nest.
What is difference of memory on hard and virtual memory Red?
Virtual memory is just spece on your disk drive. Lots slower than regular memory.

Nest Update
02/18/09:
We continue to see an amazing variety of immature bald eagles on the platform.
On Tuesday, we saw two immatures sitting with an adult. The immature bird nearest the cam had a large amount of streaking on its head.
Bell looks cold. I worry that the heavy snow will come again like last year

Blog was already signed in to Sissy's name so I am just leaving it there! :)
Good morning Jo! Glad you mentioned hair cut, need to go call and make an appointment.
Good luck Sharon! We wish the best for you!
You guys are going to have to tell me what you need in your laptop to be able to get on as you travel.
Looks like Belle is sleeping in. LOL My kind of girl!
Hang in there, Sharon.
I need to go eat some breakfast and get ready to go outside.
Have a great day! I'll be in and out....and a little occasional lurking! :)
BBL
Sharon, I hope the doctors get everything figured out today, so you can be done with this once and for all.
Also....great for Anne Marie to check in. Good for you "Grandma", letting the parents grab a little more sleep.
Right there with ya, Sharon!

Hello Margy! Didn't know you had off today!
Headed into the showers - getting ready to roll out of here for a few hours!
Eagle hunched over at Pelican...wonder, why
is it egg time there ?
I need to remember my manners and say Hello Everyone ! ☺
Okay Sharon and Sissy: Double up and do battle and knock that ailment square between the eyes! Our prayers are with you both, for safe travels, and fast healing, Sharon....
Glad you are together... Sisters Rock ! ☺ ☺ ♥ ♥
I think my Pelican Harbor is frozen, and everything else was too...
had to shut them down for a bit.
UnBrrrrrrrrrrrr...that's how my Blazer feels now...Thank Goodness!
Howdy Jo - my work schedule all goofed up this week....I am off today, work midnight shift for a 6-hour stint, then back Friday for there 12's - then off for one whole week ! ☺
Are you on call during the week off, or is it vacation, Margy?
Off, Deb, by working the week-end it puts me at 48 hours, so I took two days off to go with my regular days off and it adds up to 7 off ☺ -
I could get snagged NEXT week-end (Feb 28 - Mar 1) possibly, but still it's a bunch of freed☺m...
so you are coming to lunch on the 26th, Margy?
I think Our Bird is getting antsy...
Colo eagle was just on an egg roll, and I finally have Okla up
Sure planning on it MITS! ☺
I'm going to Annandale, Va and then Ruxton (near Baltimore) Monday and Tuesday to visit with two older sisters, then back home Tuesday night.. ☺
Looks like parent eagle tenting at BWE -

OK Thanks for letting us know
No Alert going out for you! lol
raining pretty steady at BW, just checked radar.
Just watched the Drama at Norfolk from earlier...don't like to see that! What's the thought on the unwelcome visitor?
Thanks for posting that Deb
I couldn't get Norfolk to come up, just a black screen
Two owls still at Valmont...

Great pictures to see at BWO...just think, eaglets soon at BWE...☺
EGG TURNING
Still cam ahead of live, our nest, egg rolling going on
Don't give you much of an egg view...up and down.
I just bet Hedgie is fighting with her computer again ! Here's a Grrrrrrrrrrrrr on your behalf, Hedgie !
The colors are beautiful at our nest, esp on the still cam...
brown and wintry looking with a hint of springtime to come...☺
Well, this has been fun....but it's time to take care of some corresepondence with family.
BeBackInALittleWhile...xo ☺
here is a #@#$%# for Lynn's computer!!!
No solid ideas on the Maine Forum, Margy. A few saw a flash of white and thought it might be a gull. Maybe the camera people will come up with some better pictures.
the bird didn't look that large, but it was very fast....
I think my live feed is gone away.

Just an observation, folks....
If you are having troubles with your computer and it's on the old side...like mine is getting to be, the economic downturn is producing some very good deals in new machines right now.

Jim
Good point, Jim
My email program must think I am crazy, it sends two of every email once in awhile...like I can even get through ONE copy of them...
going to get taxes done this afternoon, then your suggestion might be even more attractive ☺
Of course if it's two copies of a cam view, then I can handle that !
Speaking of computers:
When do we get Ceil back ???
I had an ultra sound on my neck arteries this morning and they look better than a year ago. Another result of quitting smoking. Friday I go in for an induced stress test and ultrasound of my heart stent. No problems. Just annual tests.
Good news, Red
You have found the fountain of Youth! ☺
I have not talked to her since last Friday, Margy, and she is working today.....will try to catch up with her later.
good news, Red.
egg roll
cu later!
Ohhhh By the way, Daffodils are blooming in North Alabama too. Saw some this morning on the way to Huntsville.
Good news, Red!
Ok, good show, Mits....sure glad she "retired," huh....Bless her heart....Send her our l♥ve...
and maybe we will see her next week to do that in person !
I missed the egg roll, guess that is just going to happen sometimes...can't be in too many places at the same time...
Eating time at BWO - -
Hello everyone!! We are in the ER at UVA, waiting. First we came to the ER, then the doctor's office, now back to the ER. Don't know anything yet, still nothing done!!!
Hello Double E-S Sisters...
Get your Eagle Canes out !
Thanks for checking in...
hang in there, Bev:)
I carry an axe handle in my truck. Need I come and get their attention. lol
My biggest prayer is that my sister does not kill anybody or get arrested.
that was sharon before, this is me. There is a doctor here now with her. Will be back.
I wondered why you had to go to the ER, now I know. I sure hope this doctor is the one who can take care of you.
I'm taking a big panda nap. BBL
STEVE HAS GIVEN US A NEW THREAD...COME ON OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is that an adult at BWO? Sure is kind of scruffy looking, he was just cleaning his beak on the side of the platform.
Best wishes for ALL good things this afternoon, especially for Sharon and GeeGee...and any and all others with wellness needs.
Short nap time, then tax time.
TTFN, friends xoxox ☺ ♥
Okay new thread here I come, just before the Split!
Approaching S-P-L-I-T....wonder what Steve is up to today?
