we actually wanted to lock Jo in the loo, so the eagles would move around more:)

Mits said...

we did see a big beautiful C-5 coming in for a landing:)

deb said...

BWE is not settling down tonight, I wonder if she hears little noises starting in the egg.

magpie said...

I think I have discovered there is no way to put into words the wonder of today....the friendship, kindnesses, beauty of the wildlife...
and No Way to put into words the appreciation to Gene and Wanda, Mema, all our Lunch Bunchers who made it so magical, AND of all you Momsters and Dadsters for your encouragement...

Mits said...

our eagle is awake

Mema Jo said...

Deb, We told him that the pop up wasn't working. He really didn't say anything about the feed - Mainly talking about how busy he has been with budget.
He looked thru the mag article and so did Randy Robinson. They were impressed especially with your photos.

Margy gave me one of your pictures and
I have it already placed in the front room! It is so beautiful!

deb said...

Now we know one thing you all laughed about today!

deb said...

She told me she was going to give it to you, Jo. I am glad you like it!

Mits said...

I think they do start to feel something moving around, long before egg hatches, thought I read the whole process can take up to 48 hours.

Mema Jo said...

I hope Lady Black Water is talking to her little one inside the egg and telling the eaglet to 'Come on out - the weather is great - and you can see the sliver of the moon and Venus' ! lol

Deer at Snowman cam, and it is snowing there.

magpie said...

Man our little Nest Momma is sure getting the rollin' goin' this evening...☺

Yes, that C-5 was Magnificent!
They have been in our area for a few years and that is the FIRST time I have seen one...

DEB we only laughed, because YOU DID NOT SIGN YOUR MAGAZINE and we Know you are going to be rich and famous one day....and then we would be too if we had a signed article ! ☺

TTFN got to take care of a few things

Lolly said...

Wanda......great pictures. Double clicked the pics and felt like I was there. You guys did well cleaning your plates. LOL Checked out just who was wearing their beads and could see the Capt. reflected in the mirror in the Eagle Express, so I do know he was there.
So glad you guys had such a wonderful day. You talked about laughing so much, and that made me sooooo jealous!!! Oh, well!

Car warranty bogus calls

floralgirl said...

Perfect, I just had another call to extend my warranty half an hour ago. I'm getting 4 to 6 calls a day. All my last chance......

Just finished looking at todays photos. I am glad you all had such a wonderful time and got to enjoy Lib and Belle also. What a great day.

deb said...

Survivor is over, Grey's and Private Practice are reruns.

Mema Jo said...

Thanks for that article, Mits.

I have put Wanda's pics over into the Eaglet Momster Photo site.

Deb, I just told Jack I would watch Greys after his hockey game, I record it. Got on and saw where you said it was a rerun. Drat!

Got a chance to look at today's pics. Wanda, your's are great!!(Don't know if any others are on yet)
What a special day!!! ☺ ☺

Mema Jo said...

Saline River Valley cam is now feeding
ARDVARKS lol

It is raining there, I think.

hedgie said...

Thanks for that Fox report, Megan.....guess I've been lucky to have only gotten one call! FTC wouldn't take my case because the number didn't show up...if I'd been on the cordless when it came in (I was on the other line) it would have, but I was on a regular phone.
Fairly happy w/ my new camera results. Not like having a telephoto lens, but not too shabby!!!

deb said...

I would like to see something besides squirrels at Saline!

Mema Jo said...

Hi Loretta - Wanda was the main photographer for today's event! Jim, Ceil's hubby, was also taking pics.

Just looked at the new pics you posted on your blog - It's great that the nest is at your work place... I would think they have egg(s) up in their nest!!!

Mema Jo said...

I once saw a raccoon, Deb.

hedgie said...

Wanda and Capt. Gene...thanks for your fine accommodations!!! Your pics turned out well!!

Mema Jo said...

Lady Black Water is "antsy" this evening!

I hope my granddaughter is also ANTSY!
Any day and any time now - doctor appointment is tomorrow. I'll keep you posted!

floralgirl said...

Egg roll...

deb said...

I haven't seen anything at night, except the cat sitting in the window watching outside.

Lynn glad you are happy with the pictures. I always want my pictures to be better than they are!! We are our own worst critics!

OUR EAGLE is up!

magpie said...

Loretta:
Loved your new pictures, and also like your new avatar ☺

deb said...

Lady BW is very restless, Jo. I have been watching and hoping for a sign the chick has started pecking away, but she is too good at hiding those eggs.

deb said...

Deer at the Snowman cam, the snow has stopped for now.

magpie said...

I am becoming the Missed the Egg Roll Queen....
:(

Lady W does seem antsy, body all double-jointed, and cam does not always seem as though it is refreshing very well.

Deb I sure like your two new birds...I am still waiting on a Robin here! But today we heard red-winged blackbirds. ☺

Mits said...

BRS blog....that is great:)

hedgie said...

HAving trouble getting your pics open, Loretta! Will try again later!
Almost time for ER.

Mits said...

snowman cam has a winter warning for tonight 8-10 inches expected

magpie said...

That was weird....went to Deb's Photo page off this blog, and could not "escape."

Mema - I know of two pretty reliable places for Cedar Waxwings: Swinging Bridge in this county, and the Fish Hatchery in Jefferson County...especially when warmer weather gets here. Megan has them too!

deb said...

The Cedar Waxwings are so pretty, Margy.

magpie said...

A happy message off the Puleston site regarding Osprey, from Melanie:

A MD birder has logged the first osprey sighting of the year - at the mouth of the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay. Same place as last years' first sighting only this year is 3 weeks later.

They are on the way!!!!!!!

deb said...

Yeah, it will be awhile before I see any migrator's here, sure can't wait for BWO's to come back.

magpie said...

The waxwings' coat reminds me of velvet! I love to watch them when there are bunches of them together, flying in the air for insects I guess, twittering, and looking like yellow leaves blowing. Last year at Swinging Bridge, late in the season, I could hardly count the nearly 50 or so that were there because they were so active ! ☺ Definitely on my list of favorite birds...

Mema Jo said...

Great news about our osprey returning here in MD..... We best watch the BWO for the osprey.

deb said...

The little white thing is on our cam!

deb said...

Darn, I should have gotten a screen capture before I typed, no picture of it.

NatureNut said...

Jo, we're pretty sure the Park eagle has been eggsitting. One of our naturalists thinks they may have had eggs very early. Hard to say. I guess when someone sees food fly-ins & adult standing to feed young, we'll know they (it) hatched. There has been talk (FINALLY) of putting up cam in another tree after hatching.Wish them luck--we have terrible reception for anything down there.
Gonna watch ER.....

floralgirl said...

HEY MARGY_ egg roll!!

deb said...

Egg roll, our nest.

magpie said...

Yeah, Megan... I saw it this time! I went rushing over to see the little white thing, and saw three little white things instead. Thanks Deb !

I think you must mean the flying gauzy snowbally thing...? Whatever it was must have jostled Belle too ☺

Mits said...

Booyah!!!! the osprey are back in town.

Mema Jo said...

Do you mean the upper right corner is where there is a 'white' thingy. Isn't it Spidey?

deb said...

If it is a spider it isn't close to the cam like it was before. It is round, came down from the top in the middle of the screen, then went back up. Pretty much like Margy described it.

magpie said...

I think it is what happens when a little fuzz ball gets kinda caught in the web strings, and blows around in suspension for a few seconds....and the infra red light jazzes it up a little, Mema

Mema Jo said...

Did anyone see any BWE eggs???

magpie said...

I haven't JO, and the camera was not refreshing for awhile there.
She has 34 minutes to let us see something, anything....

magpie said...

Belle is yawning or calling...seems quite restless herself tonight

deb said...

I was in the kitchen, so I missed the switch. I made some hot chocolate, it is cold outside!

magpie said...

Not sure about a switch, Deb -
she looked up, opened her beak wide and seemed to be hollering about something...then she settled down and tucked that head in again..

magpie said...

Randy was pretty interested in our talk of the PIX PA cam, Jo so I think I will send him the website for that one....

Mema Jo said...

She is telling those bluebirds to stop chirping!

magpie said...

I just might have to set my alarm for 5 am when BWE will back on to see if there is anything fuzzy on there.

JO - sure can't wait to hear when the new little fuzzy arrives in your family too ☺

Mema Jo said...

I bet that Lisa is on Hatching Alert
tonight!

deb said...

I checked with the Forum that Never Sleeps and they have a picture from 6:31 that shows no cracks. If the eagle rolls the eggs, do the roll so the cracks are up?

deb said...

Oops, they roll.

Mema Jo said...

I don't have a clue on that one, Deb. I would guess that the crack would be UP
and ready to go! As you pointed out earlier, it is very hard to tell if it is a crack or a piece of fluff/grass in the nest. Thanks for the info on the earlier pic they captured.

Mema Jo said...

BWE hasn't tucked her head under her wing that I have seen! She has been hanging it out on the edge of the nest.

Set your alarm Margy!

magpie said...

If our birds aren't doing much vocalizing, it is possible they could be imprinted with that Blue Bird Chirp, Jo ☺

I'm finishing out the evening with a giant-sized Oatmeal Creme Pie that Wanda threw into my satchel....
maybe that will bring nest action at BWE.

Well, it's been a long fun day, but it has come to a sleepy close for this bird

Good Night to All, try to find some Red Friday

Peace, Love and Prayers, and Sleep Sweetly...xo ☺ ♥

magpie said...

in three and half minutes that is, BWE time...

hedgie said...

Well....that looked like Carter is leaving for the last time....too bad. He and Dr. Greene were always my favs!

Costume Lady said...

I am still learning how to post photos from my new camera to their best advantage. I was able to bring up our eagle at a closer range. Now, I am looking for those beautiful bluebirds we saw. Gene got some beautiful shots of them, but I'm too sleepy to fool with them tonight. There are many others, but they can wait til tomorrow.

GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL...THANKS GIVEN FOR A BEAUTIFUL DAY!

hedgie said...

Maybe the floaty white stuff was some of Wanda's milkweed fibers!!!

If the hole-digging squirrels were hiding corn, the raccoons found it...theyt've been very busy in those holes this evening...who knows, maybe they are who started the digging and the squirrels just went deeper!

Mema Jo said...

Hungry deer - Snowman Cam

hedgie said...

BTW, Mits...our local Air Guard Unit (the 167th) flew C-150's for about 30 yrs. before switching over to the C-5's a couple of years ago. (my ex retired from there last year; he was active-duty w/ a permanent duty station; that's how/why I used to do commissary shopping).

hedgie said...

Loretta, pics were good ones! How close is the nest to your office?

Mema Jo said...

I am going to call it a blessed day...

Good Night All

hedgie said...

It's been a long and wonderful day. I'm heading for the tub and then off to dreamland. Up early again tomorrow to get to the #%*&@ dentist! Thanks for all of the friendship and laughter today. Sure wish we could do it more often. Sweet dreams for all. Prayers and peace.

deb said...

I am off to bed also. Sure wish BWE would have let us see something! I think I will leave it up for the night, so I can check in if I wake up around 4 my time.

RACCOON in Saline, I finally get to see something.

deb said...

It is very cautious, but finally at the bowls eating.

deb said...

On that note, I am signing off for the night. I need to run up to SF, but not sure how the road will be tomorrow. Darn winter just had to come back.

Night, everyone.

BWE Mom just did what looked like an egg roll/check but it was brief and now she seems to be all tucked in again.
Belle is resting with her egglets.
Think since I am up I will go look for Jupiter...then I might sneak back to bed and get all tucked in myself

magpie said...

Belle just did her wing stretch, check eggs, roll and wiggle routine and she is sawing logs again. Wonder if she can feel three little heartbeats...♥ ♥ ♥

a little hazy here for good skywatching and too many town lights, did not see Jupiter

Back to bed for me for awhile.

* Good Morning Everyone * ☺

magpie said...

There is an eagle on the branch at the "old" Maine cam, the branch that came back to life ☺

magpie said...

BWE is busy, guess I will watch awhile longer...

magpie said...

Megan I have been checking bird guides and the silhouette of the smaller hawk, so far resembles the kestrel the most, I am still checking...

floralgirl said...

Windy morning here again, so far about 10 mph, warm tho, 41° here..
Belle is awake and yelling...

magpie said...

BWE is off her eggs, they look uncracked so far

floralgirl said...

Both eggs showing at BWE- no cracks visible.

floralgirl said...

Egg roll our nest.

magpie said...

Saw it Megan, the egg roll. Did you see the eggs at BWE

magpie said...

Eagles are howling at Maine...the one is no longer at the branch :(

Liberty has Egg Duty now...sure worries me when I only see two eggs on an egg roll. Eggs were all alone for one refresh....guess the parents went up on the branch for a morning kiss ♥ ☺

floralgirl said...

Missed the switch- saw BWE eggs earlier, still look solid to me.
Hard to watch right now-making cofee, frying bacon, making lunch...etc...

magpie said...

Fluffin' Stuff ☺

magpie said...

Bacon ???

I'll be right over ! I heard you explaining to Randy where you live ☺

Costume Lady said...

Margy, stop by and pick me up!!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE

Costume Lady said...

What a romantic you are, Margy...(up on the branch for a morning kiss)
Belle & Lib WOULD do that:)

magpie said...

Liberty did another egg roll but I kinda missed it...

Good Morning Wanda!
Hope you rested well after all the excitement Thursday !

Passing the baton on to you Wanda, I never went back to bed now I have things I need to do instead
Back in awhile, and watching...☺
I can smell that bacon and Coffee from across the river....☺

magpie said...

I put two pics on the Momsters Egg Album, one of two in the nest, and one of just the eggs in the nest
from this morning a little while ago

Costume Lady said...

OK, Margy. I'll be back after coffee with the Capt.

floralgirl said...

Better hurry, bacon goes fast around here.....

glo said...

No eagles by the time I got to Maine but I am so happy to see that Y branch back up there where it belongs. it is just so pretty when they sit on the branch or in the nest ;). As always the sounds are awesome too.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Good morning everyone. I saw on the news this morning about a nest in Pembroke Pines, Broward County, Florida. They are afraid that the crowds watching the nest will cause the eagles to abandon their nest. They have 2 hatched eaglets already!

I saw that story, it's Broward County's first successful bald eagle's nest since the 1970s. But people are really being stupid and some are going right up to the nest tree, so they put up fences and other barricades yesterday to deter people.

Re: Hornby

Something happened last night that has meant we (Ken and I) can't "see" the encoders from here - even though they are sending video, we can't log on and do anything remotely - and whatever it was seems also to have done something to the sound.

It will take a trip to Hornby to sort out. Scheduling and money are the only things in the way.

Richard

Mits said...

since they are no visible signs on the eggs, that is good for a hatching closer together
