I hate the weather forecast. I Can not and will not be watching the east coast cams today. I think I still have PTSD :(.. Can't knowingly venture into that territory again. I know it is what it is, as is all of life.
Especially winging up a prayer for Blackwater pair..bless their hearts. Hope they both have a major fish breakfast feast early on today.
Hi Glo, Norma, Hedgie and Wanda coming on now this morning...and those remaining invisible ☺
Norma: I believe Wanda was referring to the pictures posted on the Maine Forum Blackwater site..."Sherri" was watching same time as I and was posting her side-by-side Eagle Parents pictures...if you can check that out. I did take a few and will pick a favorite and send it to you ! I have no pictures on my Blog Profile page, and never will until I go Modern and go Digital...
Good Morning again everyone, snuck in a few more hours of sleep, I was so shocked when I opened up BWE and saw them side by side early this a.m., because this is a coastal storm, the eastern shore will bear the brunt of the storm.
Well I do agree there is less to worry about at NCTC this weekend than next but I don't want to watch them weather the storm anyway. On the other hand BW is right where we were in the hatching stage a couple of years ago as this storm comes in. I have had their cam up for like 4 days but I just can't today. Please bring them a huge fish from me. OK Thanks.
LOL Thanks Dana Hope you are good at fishing. Getting ready fro church now. Think I will head off to Botanical Center this afternoon for a bit I need to get out with my camera for a whiel and yes Norma it is a beautiful allbeit cold day here in this part of IL.

got the bread and milk, could use some TP, and maybe some eggs, might go to store if I am brave enough after jubby leaves. Supposed to be in 40's by Wednesday.
I wish there was a way to cover up that nest, but we will just have to hope the parents can handle it. I remember watching the eagle in Barton Cove get buried in snow last year, but that wasn't hatching time then.
WHOA!--MARGY---I was looking at WANDA'S PICS she had posted on her site!!----DIDN'T mention any thing else!!!! ho!---tried to see HEDGIES---but didn't find them---
Magpie Could you please send me one of the pictures of the pair from BWE you took this morning. I would like to post it on For the Love of Eagles...will of course give you credit for photo. Have some interestin updates to work on for that Blog today anyway. Thanks in advance I am off to church now. Take care.
Norma, my pics aren't anything special compared to the others Still learning my new camera! Hadn't heard about the Wolong plans...interesting. Guess the pandas rescued from there and all taken to the other location are b eing scattered to other sites. Hadn't heard tht either.
Soapbox time here! We had an Extreme Makeover in a nearby PA town back in the fall thaat was aired in Jan. My daughter and her BFF signed up to volunteer but weren't called. I wonder what criteria they use to select the recipients. It seems to me, in addition to their dire circumstances and good deeds and sob stories, they look for the biggest messes they can find. I don't care how poor someone is...soap and water and just plain housekeeping can make even a shack habitable. I think they should do follow-ups 2 or 3 yrs. later and see what kind of condition these folks have let the new houses be in. Or if they even still own them...?foreclosed if they weren't given to them mortgage-free?sold for cash??? Also, the builder who did the one near here is always in legal trouble for shoddy workmanship, and multiple problems in the local developments that he has done! Sorry....JMHO!!
Hedgie - Where are your photos of the Nest Visit - Like Norma, I can't find them. Suzanne is going to send me her's on Monday (if she gets through the snow)and I'll add into the album
Margy started out Momsters March eagle pic album.
Mits the pic you just sent from BWE is fantastic! Sure can see that the peep wants out!
sorry to tell you Norma, but we're weather wimps! Strictly warm-weather kayakers. But I can't wait! I just looked out the window and say crocus blooms!!!!
Hi Sunny - you got it right! Next weekend should start our hatchings! Great to have you on here at such an exciting time of the season. BWE has started & I am so anxious to see a grey fuzzy little peep - Can't say much for the weather being at all obliging. Is your home email still with myactv.net?
You will be glad you aren't here, another day below zero, -4 here. The good thing about March is it doesn't last long, back to the 50's by Wednesday. The yo-yo season begins! Rapid City not so cold, they are at 8. Custer is 30, so warm weather is on the way.
Hi Jo. Yep, still same e-mail. How are you? I'm sorry I haven't been able to make it to any of the get-togethers. I've been watching since egg-laying time, but I'm not supposed to be doing stuff like this at my new job, and weekends always seem pretty busy.
Norma we ALL have been watching that egg for days and have noticed the subtle changes....sent Margy the pic, she was not a happy camper to be going to work now.
HEDGIE---I was reading LISA'S column & states that the chick turns completely around inside the egg---then begins pecking---takes so long because the chick needs to stop to rest!!-----(i know most of you know all this---but i didn't know this part)
Dear Owl Watchers - thank you for all the emails inquiring after the owl. We are not sure what has happened. We did feel this owl was acting a bit strangely all along...there are several possibilities and some we probably haven't thought of. One is that some other creature was landing on top of the box and scaring the mother owl - perhaps a Great Horned Owl, which is a natural predator of the barn owl. We did not yet have our recorder set up so we have nothing to go on but the information and emails that some of you sent to us. Because we are an all-volunteer group on a limited budget we do not have as high-tech a set-up as some of the other cams that you may be watching! It is interesting to note that this nest also failed last year: there was a clutch of eggs, but one-by-one they disappeared and then the female abandoned the nest. If we learn more we will post it here. The box has been cleaned out and repaired.
Had to close up & return! And I did NOT refresh. Just tried to open Live cam, & it stuck, so lost everything. It's gonna get a try on it's OWN page! Looks like Baby BW will appear on the "March Comes in Like a Lion Day!"
Lynn, You need to go into your blogspot & probably "Edit Profile" to name yourself your own blog! Then click on that Blog (like mine is NN's Nook). At top of page hit "New Post". You will get just like an email writing window with toolbar pics for photos or videos. When done browsing for pics to attach Hit Upload, & when done (you can add text if you want) Hit Post! 1 window page will let you post 5 pics. ☺
Wow, Jo, new closeup view at Saline. I've got to get more coffee! Maybe we will hit 1000 & BW eaglet today! Good things happen in Mar!!!...like lotta our B'Days!! LOL ☺
hey Deb, a question, when I was at d-i-l's the other day, we tried to bring up the panda cam and she has a Mac destop and it would not let her, forgot what the message said, can you get NZ panda cam up?
Red, how long has it been since you had snow accumulation? Pretty picture.
Almost all the cams I watch end up going through Flip4mac. It is kind of nice because they just open in their own window, I don't have to do anything extra.
NASCAR race is in Las Vegas today. Won't start until about 4 PM. BUT there's car stuff on TV all day anyway! Yuck! I like cars, but not mass quantities!
Deb, For the last few years we only get dustings but I can remember some big snows back in the 60's and 70's. New Years eve of 1963 we had 17 inches. I think that is our record snowfall. This mornings snow is already melted and gone. Sure don't last long here. lol
tracking jubby's flight to Dallas then to Orange County...looks like they got up to cruising speed quickly, seems like they are flying west of the bad weather.
Yepper! We are going to hit 1000.... We're hoping that Steve is OK - either is away and doesn't have a mobile device or he is still knee deep in the budget and has that on his mind! We just want him to be ok.
There's an entry in the Panda Blog describing the final separation of Bai Yun and ZZ.
And apparently "Richard" at the Loch Garten site has returned from a long trip to Japan and other parts. And he has some very interesting tales of the wildlife..bird life..in various islands.
Which reminds me, did you read the comment I made late last night about the large variety of Herons, Egrets, Storks, Ibises and Spoonbills I saw at Pete's Pond?? It was fabulous!
Hey Red and Jim!! Two dadsters at once! Red, your snow looked liked ours here. More due tonight & tomorrow.....2-6" depending on the track of the storm!! Will check mail now Deb!
Good afternoon! Back from church and went straight to computer. A hole! Yea! Now how will I get anything accompished?
Lynn, this family for extreme makeover, seems to be a neat family. Their house flooded and was ruined. I agree with you on what a little housekeeping can do! I also have said, you can take a tiny house and make it look great if the yard is kept and pretty. You can take a huge new house look awful if the yard is a mess. Therefore I work in the yard. Ha!
DEB CAN YOU PLEASE SEND ME INFORMATION ON HOW TO START ON MY BLOG PAGE "DEBS PHOTOS" or "NEST PICTURES". I have pictures in My Pictues folder on computer. I must be doing something wrong when I try to set up one of those pages. I hit the image but won't do anything?? THANK YOU
Wow, it's been raining in Norfolk for some time, and the female looks wet, wet, wet; but she's hanging in there and tenting the area around the egg cup like a trooper.

Hi Sunny - you got it right! Next weekend should start our hatchings!
Great to have you on here at such an

SO--SORRY--MARGY ISN'T HERE!!
We should THANK DANA!----She & LISA had noticed the hole earlier!!
Do you think the hatchling activity tickles her underbelly???
yes Lynn, you make alot of sense.
I've been told they're videotaping the cam feed at the Visitor Center. I'm hoping they get it all, as this would be the first hatching we got on film.
Norma we ALL have been watching that egg for days and have noticed the subtle changes....sent Margy the pic, she was not a happy camper to be going to work now.
HELEN---Saw that EAGLE & wondered if it PAPA!!----ho!

THANKS LISA!----That would be AWESOME!!
That is exciting, Lisa. It will be great to see some of the hatching on video!
Glo, I posted here a pic of BWE twosome----gonna get that cam open!!!! ☺
Ok I am so excited I haven't read comments. Had to reboot computer. Something I opened in email took BWE and BWO and my mail down.
I GOT BACK FROM LISA ON THE PIC I SENT "Definitely a hole"....!!!!!!
HEDGIE---I was reading LISA'S column & states that the chick turns completely around inside the egg---then begins pecking---takes so long because the chick needs to stop to rest!!-----(i know most of you know all this---but i didn't know this part)
I am just getting my cams back up see Lisa has the hatching ALERT....still have to get rest of cams up then go read our comments.
I'll work on posting my pics later today. I'll put them in the momsters album but I don't know how to put them on my profile page.
Happy Happy To Report that BOTH Valmont GH owls are sitting in the nest box!
Come on 2nd clutch!!!
WHOA! LORETTA has a COOL pic of the parents together in nest last night!!---GREAT PHOTO!!---Thanks--
Cannot watch the NBG eagle nest!
Boy is the eagle ever holding on!
Rockin' Mania for sure!
Oh no...BWE cam messing up...green and purple lines...pic fades back in slowly on refresh but has marks in it....it better not go down NOW!!
thought the same thing, Lynn.
Those lines you just saw usually mean someone is interfering with our wireless signal. Like a tourist too close to the transmitter. :-)
Lisa thanks so much for you help with the photos of the eggs this morning.
NEWS FROM THE HUNGRY OWL CAM:(
Dear Owl Watchers - thank you for all the emails inquiring after the owl.
No eagles at the ME nest
No snow in the nest - that's good
OK eagle is incubating and looks like some sun is there.
MT nest at Lake WA
Small amount of snow in the Libby nest
Decorah IA nest MT Good Looking Nest!
FtSaintVrain CO Daily pics show 3 eggs
There are two owl cams at the Hungry Owl cam. That note is for the second cam, the cam with the hatching eggs is okay!
First picture is owl with hatching eggs, second picture is of the owl box that has been cleaned out.
YES Deb, did see the other owls :)
WHOA!---Look at our nest NCTC---ALL THE SNOW SEEMS TO HAVE MELTED!!
Lisa - Maybe it's Bob driving around the refuge! lol
Margy could do the same thing. Even if you don't have digital cam, you can post any other pics you have saved.
Cute Little Guy
oh my goodness, that is adorable:), Jo
Chester is really stuffing himself! lol
Okay, Helen, I was afraid you thought it was the hatching eggs that got abandoned.
That little guy is cute at Saline.
thanks, Deb....:)
If I take a Sunday Panda Nap I just know
you all are going to SPLIT for the FIFTH
time. But I know I will be able to find you........
Checking out cams before leaving...
hope everything is ok with Steve.
Me, too. Maybe he is away for the weekend without any computer access. Or phone, he does it that way sometimes, too.
BRS is near Savannah, looks like sky is clearing for him somewhat.
true, but so unlike him to let it go this long:(
Wow, Jo, new closeup view at Saline. I've got to get more coffee!
Maybe we will hit 1000 & BW eaglet today! Good things happen in Mar!!!...like lotta our B'Days!! LOL ☺
Lynn, You have mail!
Loretta, where is NASCAR running today?
Thanks, Loretta. I'll try !!!!
There are beer cans all over the feeder at Saline, I wonder if he puts something in them or is just a redneck bird feeding station!
redneck in Michigan...lol:)
I'm not sure Deb - That squirrel
is really a biggy!!
hey Deb, a question, when I was at d-i-l's the other day, we tried to bring up the panda cam and she has a Mac destop and it would not let her, forgot what the message said, can you get NZ panda cam up?
Good afternoon y'all. Guess we all had a bit of snow last night. Weatherman was right we had some accumulation. Photo on my blog.
hmmm record breaking highs in Scottsdale today and tomorrow, around 90, warm for this time of the year:)
Have you seen the redneck wind chimes before? That is what it reminded me of!
Does she have Flip4Mac installed on her computer? That will convert the National Zoo feed to Quick Time for her. It's free.
hmmm good question, will have to ask her, the message sounded like no you can't download this!
Yuck! I like cars, but not mass quantities!
thanks, Loretta
nice snow, Red.
Red - that is about what my back yard looked like - you may have had just a little bit more then me.
**GooD MoRNiNG**

Deb, For the last few years we only get dustings but I can remember some big snows back in the 60's and 70's. New Years eve of 1963 we had 17 inches. I think that is our record snowfall. This mornings snow is already melted and gone. Sure don't last long here. lol
I didn't see a switch, Deb. Was there one?
I have been on phone, etc.---just heard on TV---ALABAMA---TORNADOS-- Has RED checked in??----told you all---no snow in our NCTC nest!!
tracking jubby's flight to Dallas then to Orange County...looks like they got up to cruising speed quickly, seems like they are flying west of the bad weather.
Good Morning out there Jim!
Yepper! We are going to hit 1000....
We're hoping that Steve is OK - either is away and doesn't have a mobile device or he is still knee deep in the budget and has that on his mind! We just want him to be ok.
Norma, NCTC is not supposed to get alot of snow, this storm is coming up the coast.
Yes, there was a switch. The picture I saved was blank on the bottom. I wonder why that happens sometimes.
Red was just here.
then this should be Dad now.
Just had my call from the Germany Gals! Everyone is great - Elizabeth is in bed but I did get to talk with Samantha!
She has such a soft sweet voice!
I remember when she used to practice
screaming sounds with laughter!
great news, Jo
In the mood for reading?
There's an entry in the Panda Blog describing the final separation of Bai Yun and ZZ.
And apparently "Richard" at the Loch Garten site has returned from a long trip to Japan and other parts. And he has some very interesting tales of the wildlife..bird life..in various islands.
Which reminds me, did you read the comment I made late last night about the large variety of Herons, Egrets, Storks, Ibises and Spoonbills I saw at Pete's Pond?? It was fabulous!

beautiful sunny day at snowman cam...goosie looks naked:)
wonder if the blog will blow up?
really windy at HI
can hear the eagles at HI
Good afternoon! Back from church and went straight to computer. A hole! Yea! Now how will I get anything accompished?
Lynn, this family for extreme makeover, seems to be a neat family. Their house flooded and was ruined. I agree with you on what a little housekeeping can do! I also have said, you can take a tiny house and make it look great if the yard is kept and pretty. You can take a huge new house look awful if the yard is a mess. Therefore I work in the yard. Ha!
Snowing in Maine!
SPLIT COMING VERY SOON:)
