split is here.

Mits said...

yes Megan, I like using it, because most of the time I'm by myself, and I do chicken steak, hot dogs, hammies...all kinds of stuff

paula eagleholic said...

Hmmm looks like an unraveling piece of rope now....

paula eagleholic said...

Wonder if Nu left his rope in the tree :)

Costume Lady said...

We do have a Foreman grill, but have never used it. Don't think it is big enough for our steaks. Gene always cooks for an Army. He learned to cook in the Army and was Mess Sgt.

Costume Lady said...

Didn't Nu leave a hammer the last time?

Costume Lady said...

The hammer might have been left for Lib & Belle to open up the turtles :)

Red said...

I noticed the rope effect too Paula. Could be some strings on edge of duct tape. Up close they would look like rope

Costume Lady said...

EEEEEEWWWW! SORRY!

wvgal_dana said...

I'm doing well ty Lynn ( : Just taking it slow, not bending or reaching up.

I love my George Foreman grill. I had the older one and got the one where you take the upper and lower trays out. They can go in a dishwasher also. I'm the dishwasher here lol.

I'll have to wait awhile to give my thoughts if that is spidey's web. In order for him NOT to REBUILD. SPIDEY WOULD HAVE TO HAVE BEEN "ANNIHILATED" HIMSELF. Just cleaning the web. He could rebuild if he wasn't removed. We'll have to wait and see.

Wanda sorry about your steaks...try another option if you don't have a George Forman grill. Is there a fire going in the fireplace?????

wvgal_dana said...

I think this weather calls for some tomato soup and some grilled cheese. Warm the inners..

Red said...

Only THE SHADOW knows. lol

Red said...

Oven broiler works good on steaks too.

Red said...

Do you realize that two weeks from today is Christmas day?

Mits said...

your correct Red, broiler is big enough....Think Nu did leave a hammer one time

Mits said...

thanks for the warning Red:)

Mits said...

I prefer to say in 2 weeks it will all be over, and we can all relax...have done a ton of shopping online today

Costume Lady said...

Broiler doesn't work very well. Stove is as old as our house (38 years) It was condemned by the gas company 4 years ago. Fireplace would have been good, Dana, but we don't have the utensils to cook there...too late anyway...Mr. Gene has them in the skillet. He promised me they would tast just as good as on the grill! DUH...

Mits said...

time for a new stove Wanda

Costume Lady said...

Yep, Helen, and a new fridge. Our fridge is one that still has to be defrosted! Haven't found any to suit me just yet. I think I will settle for the color called "Bisquit".

Mits said...

we had our kitchen redone 10 years ago, and I would love to get new appliances, but hubby says if it ain't broke:)

NatureNut said...

Our filets are done---in the broiler. Hardly ever use grill anymore.Fubby just scarfed his--said he could have 2! I'm not hungry yet.
Now the foreign object in front of nest looks like a piece of ravelled string or rope!

paula eagleholic said...

Nu didn't leave a hammer in the nest...but they did take a pic his in the nest for size reference...I think that was last year or the year before....

Later...

hedgie said...

Helen, Jo blocked my mail....I didn't know how! But, no, nothing came through today. AOL is up and running. Hope you gals have better luck w/ fridge's than I have had....three in 16 yrs.! Dishwasher lasted 14. W&D are now 16+...hold my breath every time I do laundry!!

hedgie said...

Definitely grill or broiler for steaks for me.....wouldn't want it any other way! Foreman does okay if outdoor grill totally out of question, but....I've grilled many times in coat, or w/ umbrella!!!

hedgie said...

My house was built as a vacation home, and the then-owners only put in a toaster oven...I couldn't afford to get wall oven at the time, so aunt & uncle in FL had just remodeled their kitchen and brought me their old double Tappan unit...luckily there was a place for it! They are probably close to 35 yrs. old, but still work just fine!

deb said...

Costume Lady said...

Hey, Deb, glad you took your camera this time:)

Mema Jo said...

Lynn - this is the message that comes back from any email sent to your aol address......

Hello, I am away until 12/10/2008 and am unable to read your message.

Can you take that off now that you're home?

I unblocked your Momster Mail - and anything new would be coming at you.

Mema Jo said...

Costume Lady said...

They are there now, Jo!

Mits said...

Jo the owl is on Deb's site now, check it out, great pic.

deb said...

Owl is up and ready, Jo.

I am disgusted with Dish Network and the local CBS station. They are fighting over money, so guess who doesn't get to watch Survivor tonight. I am look into Direct TV now.

Mema Jo said...

Hootie Hootie Hootie -
Like Mits said He sure was sitting there waiting for you!
Thanks Deb..

Now find a Snowy Owl..... lol

Mema Jo said...

Mits - when you only saw 2 pups awhile ago This is what was probably going on........

Just took Amaya out for a walk around the neighborhood. No leash biting - yay! Also let her run around the house with the other adult Shibas we have. More sniffing everything than playing but she's taking everything in stride.
No announcement yet on the other 2 being taken to new homes..

Mits said...

what a bummer Deb, isn't tonight the finale?

Mits said...

thanks, Jo:)

Mits said...

easy dinner tonight, both hubby and I had chicken soup tonight...his 3 week cold seems to be coming to an end, but the lowly stomach bug is hanging around...grrr:(

deb said...

Believe me, we are looking!

deb said...

No, the last one is Sunday. I can watch tonights on the internet tomorrow. Who knows how long it will take to resolve. I e-mailed dish and told them I would be saying goodbye to them if they dropped CBS. Best station for local news and weather.

Mits said...

Jo, last night when I was leaving the zoo, and headed to parking lot B, as soon as I stepped foot onto Panda Plaza where we ate, an announcement came over loud speaker....Welcome to Zoo lights, and I stode there all by myself as the trees blinked along with the Christmas music....don't know if it goes on automatically or is motion sensitive...but as far as I know Zoo lights runs Friday thru Sunday....

deb said...

Dana talked about grilled cheese sandwiches. I don't know how long it has been since I had one. My dinner was grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup!

Mits said...

NBC next fall is taking off their 10 0'clock dramas, and putting Jay Leno on for 5 nights primetime....will make watching TV easy, and probably early bedtime too...

deb said...

I like that idea. I always flip back and forth from Leno to Letterman and figure I always miss something. Now I can watch both if the guests are good.

paula eagleholic said...

Wow Hedgie...not too many Tappan units still working out there...Mom finally had to get rid of hers....gas double oven.

Deb - aren't there place to watch Survivor online? OK - I see you can watch it tomorrow. I don't have any problem w/ my locals on Dish.

I'll be watching Leno at 10 for sure...was disappointed that he was leaving...happy they worked something out!

Mits said...

I don't watch either, so don't care where they are...there have been some CBS shows at 10 that I like, now I can watch them, if they don't cancel them.:)

NatureNut said...

Wow, Deb, does your great horned think he's a barn owl?? Almost never see them in daytime.Maybe that's his panda nap hangout! LOL

wvgal_dana said...

Wow sorry Deb ! I like Suvivor and yes Sunday is the finale.

Mema Jo said...

Mason's Candles

deb said...

Great horned owls will nest anywhere there is prey and a nest site--trees, stumps, under bridges, in old buildings, cliff ledges, and occasionally on the ground. From my Owls of South Dakota book. We do see them during the day here, but in the winter it is easier to find them.

paula eagleholic said...

Wow Deb, your owl is cool.

Costume Lady said...

I have never seen an owl. We have many of them here in our woods, and hear them often, but never see them.

Costume Lady said...

Deb, what bird was it that you told us are frequently found in cedar trees with droppings on them?

Mema Jo said...

Mits - that sounds cool that you activated the Zoo Lights. I bet you thought you were in the spotlight for awhile. That would be nice to see.

deb said...

A lot of different owls will perch in cedar trees, Wanda.

deb said...

I have seen three kinds of owl, barn, burrowing and great horned. I would love to see a saw-whet and a snowy, well, really I would take any of them.

Costume Lady said...

I guess if I could see only one owl, it would be the Snowy...they are beautiful.
BTW, Deb, Survivor was interesting tonight. Don't know what we are going to do after the finale Sunday. Going to miss it. None of the reality shows that I watch are on anymore. Big Brothers, Dancing with the Stars, So you think you can dance, America's got talent:(

Costume Lady said...

Still raining here. I wonder if eagles can catch cold...remember one of the babies sneezed a lot? I guess nature takes care of it's own.
I wonder how Lolly's party went. I sure would like to have a piece of that cheesecake that she made for their dessert;)

Deb, We have barred owls here, I see and hear them sometimes in Morgan County, Saw-whets too, but it has been a couple of years since I saw one of them. And maybe others but that is my Owl report....not to go see Your Owls! ☺

him awhile to ID it but that is some good looking owl! Goggle that one Wanda - he may be the one in your woods.

I was just looking and reading the blog then went to see Deb's owl. Great pictures!

We have a lot of screech owls here. One year we apparently had a family of screech owls close by. They came to our birdbath every night. So, Jack set up the camera on a tripod. We got a great picture. One of the owls about screwed his head off turning to look at the camera when it flashed.

Morning all. Just read yesterday's comments and wanted to chime in about my birding foray on Wednesday. I went with my expert (my words) neighbor to an old strip mine area. We saw at least 2 short eared owls prowling the fields looking for dinner. There have been 7 reported in that area. Then we saw a flock of snow buntings. My friend said she hadn't seen any in 10 years. I am glad she was with me because I could never have identified them.

Windy day in ME and nothing else to report for myrecent cam visits.

A little snow here--hope the roads are ok, Mom has a hair appointment this morning. BBL, you all be good.
