GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...
'Puter was moving in slow motion this morning, had to shut down and begin again. Working like a charm now.
Red, how much cobbler did you eat last night?

MITS said...

don't know why I was having problems with the other thread, but this one is working fine

wvgal_dana said...

Thanks Megan for heads up on new thread. Thank you Steven have a good day!

Red how did your dessert go last night?

wvgal_dana said...

Ok Red that makes two people asking you...lol So did you hold back or eat what wife didn't? lol

Costume Lady said...

Helen, was I suppose to let you know if I would be able to attend the Friday Festivities? If we aren't extremely busy, Gene will take care of the shop.

wvgal_dana said...

Ok Red that makes two people asking about dessert. Did you hold back or eat the whole thing other than what the wife ate. lol

May you ALL have a good day and hope the sun shines in you lives.

Red said...

I had a small bowl of cobbler and guess what? I lost two pounds yesterday. Just stopped the sausage and biscuits for breakfast and cut down on the taters. I think I have it figured out now.

MITS said...

That would be wonderful, Wanda....:)

MITS said...

Typical man....gives up one thing....and loses weight.....women can starve for a week and lose an ounce......maybe

Costume Lady said...

GOOD FOR YOU RED! I lost 3 lbs and was so happy. I'm just mainly cutting down on portion size. We eat pretty healthy foods, but sometimes not, like, I love sausage in my stuffed peppers.

Red said...

Helen, I was having problems with the blogger cop before the new thread too. Late last night I was having problems with the internet but we were having storms close by and some equipment may have been down.

Costume Lady said...

Your right, Helen. It took me 3 months to loose 3 pounds!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Good morning everybody!

Costume Lady said...

At that rate, it would take me 2 years to reach my weight goal!

Costume Lady said...

Good Morning, Sharon..

MITS said...

but that is ok, and the best way to do it Wanda...slow and steady......Red I'm fine now that we have the new thread:)

MITS said...

Morning...Sharon:)

MITS said...

I don't watch the show...but who got booted off the Dancing thing last night....Wanda did you watch it?

wvgal_dana said...

Morning Sharon...

Yep your right a man and woman can diet at the same time. Let us use Weight Watchers. A lot of couples go there. Man loses lots and woman
is losing a little. Woman goes over
and talks with weight instructor to see if anything can be jiggled around. It's a fight for the weight to come off. The couple goes the next week (he even cheats) and loses 10 pounds. Wife gets on scale a says 1 pound lose.
:( She doesn't feel so happy.

wvgal_dana said...

Where's Sissy??? I'm checking because baby Luney is all alone. Quick so everyone can get their hugs in. lol

Red said...

But look at Vicky, she has lost over 50 pounds. I think she figured out the secret.

Red said...

It's thundering close and my poor dog Scooter is in my lap shaking. He's such a brave soul. Rosie is on the floor sleeping.

Costume Lady said...

No one was sent home from DANCING last night. Misty Trainor's torn ligament, put her out of the competition and left a void, so no one went home. Rocco would have gone, with the least amount of votes, but he is still in by default.

Costume Lady said...

I thought Vicky had lost weight, but wasn't sure. Didn't want to embarass her or myself by asking. She looked great. Thought she had a new hairdo or something!

Costume Lady said...

MARGY went back to bed until her coffee was done...that is one slooow coffee maker! WAKE UP MARGY, time to smell the coffee.

MITS said...

ok Wanda Thanks, been reading about it...one of my best friends watches religiously...know she will be upset that foul-mouth Leachman is still on the show....says she is starting to lose interest because of her

Costume Lady said...

Going to visit GeeGee this morning. Picking up on Paula's idea of taking her Mom egg salad. I think my Mom might like that. Maybe some peaches too.

Great photos Deb. Golly gal you must take time to get over here this winter to see and take photos of the eagles. bring Mary with. I have room. You use the gas to get here. I will supply the room and board and gas to take you to The best spots I know of

I know you love getting out to photograph and love it also to know there are folks to share those awesome captures with.

paula eagleholic said...

MOrning, all.

I'm just like Jo. I'll take dessert anytime, anywhere!

Deb said...

That would be nice, Glo, but will have to see what gas prices do. I have 4 trips scheduled starting with Pierre this weekend, then WV, Rapid City and my niece's wedding in CA in January.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

There is absolutely no way I could ever hold Little Luney without hurting him bad. I would squeeze his pretty little self in two.

MITS said...

Mei and Tian are eating their frosty treats:)

glo said...

I know Deb I hear ya with the gas prices. At least its looking like winter is gonna be the cheapest Ha ha thats a laugh, but anyway less expensive time to try to travel.
Its cheaper than going to Alaska and if we time it right I can show you just as many eagles in one place.

MITS said...

eagle still at BWO, keeps moving around the edge of the platform, probably waiting for female to bring him food

Deb said...

Now there are two eagles at BWO, don't see any food, though.

Just as Mei Lan did two years ago, the cub has started to make rather loud vocalizations at somewhat random times. Typically when Lun Lun is away from the cub, he will make a few small grunts and squeaks. And at other times when she is away, he is completely quiet. But now, on rare occasions, he produces a single, very loud squawk. Whether it is a signal to Lun Lun that he needs her attention, a sound to scare off a possible predator, or just a random noise, I cannot say. But I do know that most of the time it makes me jump a little to hear this loud sound come from such a small creature.

His most current weight is 1470.3 grams.

What a beautiful Fall day this was to take a drive. The trees are starting to turn and the Sugar Maples are fire red & orange. I pushed my little Sun Roof open and turned on my IL DIVO CD (which give me goose bumps) and as I watched the leaves tumble around on the highway, I felt like a young girl again. I must do that more often!
GeeGee was feeling great...has gained 3 pounds.(That must be the 3 that I lost!) I took her some egg salad and some rolls, also took some ham, but doubted that she would eat it. Well, to my surprise, she ate the ham but not the egg salad....who knew? She wants me to come to dinner Friday and wants to try Applebees. Another great visit.
Hope you all are enjoying this beautiful day.

Yes, Jo,the nest is beautiful even though it is empty. Thank you NCTC.

Hedgie said...

Blogger cop is still active!!

MITS said...

got an e-mail from Loraine just now, re: Star and Spirit nest

I'm trying to find that out now. I sent another message to the WDFW cam people to find out but haven't heard back yet. It may help if everyone else does too. I'd be curious what their answer is...

The eagles are here frequently, they were again this morning. They do add to the nest occasionally. I can see sticks showing in CAM2 but it's not alot from the angle we see. Soon all the leaves will be down out of their tree and it'll all be very visible - at that point I'll take a couple pic's to add to the gallery photos. I did post a couple new ones a couple days ago of the view through the monitor inside - they were both there all night long. :) It is going to take some very serious intensive building to get this up to where it was but we have no doubt they will.. the question is when and how long will it take... Unfortunately we don't have those answers.. it's up to Mother Nature... Thanks for asking!
Smiles!
Loraine :)

So maybe we can send them some e-mails, I think the address is on their page somewhere.....it's the page where we watch the osprey, burrowing owls and Lake Washington, and KENT cams

MITS said...

yes, they have, Deb.

MITS said...

looks more to the left...will probably give more of a view if they land on the branches....but really far from the nest if they have eaglets

Deb said...

They keep adjusting it, maybe this will be the winter view??

MITS said...

could be, then you will see them doing their nestorations...good view

Deb said...

When I first noticed it, it was way back. There was an eagle earlier. When I came back, I rewound the player and saw it fly in with some garbage of some sort. White, cloth looking thing. I will load tape later.

Deb - You really saw sooooooo many birds and TURTLES on you river trip. Thanks for taking all those pics. Water must have been smooth - Don't you ever lose your paddle when you have both hands on your camera or binoculars!

Thelma I hope you saw the visit! You must be our good luck charm because it seems all you need to say it that you wished you could see some eagle action!

I love your pumpkins, Megan. I have my scarecrows up out front but I need to get my pumpkins and some mums.....

T-Bird said...

hello mema jo-no, i missed the visit too

Costume Lady said...

Hi, Thelma...I thought the same as Jo, every time you say something about seeing our eagles, they appear. Sorry you missed them, but thanks for calling them in for us!

T-Bird said...

hello wanda :) Are you ready for Halloween?

Mema Jo said...

Deb - did you get any video of their visit this evening?

T-Bird said...

I can't wait to see Luney's personality!

Costume Lady said...

Thelma...I am all ready for Halloween and already handing out treats to my little customers (some big ones too! LOL) Shop has been seeing a steady flow of customers, but has been very slow today. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are my busiest days.

Deb said...

If the video would process, Jo, you could see Lib fly in. I am not sure what is taking so long.

Mema Jo said...

The update says that he can vocalize pretty loudly at times.

T-Bird said...

I'd like to see that landing too Deb. Sounds like it was a hoot. I hope it processes.

T-Bird said...

Jo-when will we get sound back?

Mema Jo said...

Don't worry Deb, I can be very patient just like an Eaglet!

T-Bird said...

hope to hear Luney soon

Floralgirl said...

Hey jo- did you get your article written??
Wanda, have you put your sign out along the road yet?

Mema Jo said...

I can see bamboo so I guess LunLun
is sitting next to the bed.. Little Luney is alone. I remember around 4:00 every day they would feed Lun Lun and there would be soooooo much bamboo it would cover Buta Buta!
We used to have a hard time finding her.

T-Bird said...

hello megan

Floralgirl said...

Hi Thelma... and Buddy:) Sorry you missed the visit- I thought you were still watching, I missed the fly in myself, walked away to the stove.

Mema Jo said...

Submitted the article by email to the Chronicle. Steve Chase suggested I send it as a Letter to the Editor.
NCTC/FWS will be sending out a news release and so I could keep everything I wrote that is how I did it.
It won't be in this weeks Chronicle - but next weeks.. I don't know what day it publishes.
Should I also send it to the Journal? How often is it published?

Floralgirl said...

Journal is daily, and the Chronicle comes out every Friday. They are connected, I guess maybe run by the same people.

Mema Jo said...

Megan - I mean The Observer

Deb said...

It finally posted, the clip is on my page now. I have another one to post, but as slow as that was I will wait until later tonight to do it.
