Hi I-Dave - Good news about Dial-UP - for now at least...the live feed is not working and dial up would not allow you to get into it..How is that for a backwards benefit? The folks at NCTC are working on it....
Good to see you back on here! When I grow up I want to be a retired person (preferable of wealth ) xo
No. Will have to mow a few more weeks. Then I can rest until March. I'm in North Alabama. We still have winter here, just not much snow in the last 10 years. Still get ice storms. Hate them.
Hi Eagle Buddies. Haven't forgotten you! Busy day...early luncheon meeting, then groceries...ugh! Takes me forever to lug them in and put them away...steps and toting don't work too well when you don't have any air!! Gasp, gasp! Wears me down. Then LOTS of blogging to read through!! Comments on earlier remarks: Wish we had an IHOP here...spent alot of teen times there, as well as Howard Johnsons' drive-ins...remember them?? Dana, I think the hot coffee/McD's verdict was overturned on appeal! Speaking of stupid lawsuits...that crazy ex-judge who sued the DC cleaners for his lost pants for $52mill and was ruled against....he has refiled that suit! What is wrong w/ these courts?? Cute seal, Ceil!! Deb, hope the kayaking trip is everything you are hoping for. Red, are you the chief cook and bottle washer?? Does Mrs. Red still work?
Hi, all. Kayaking was fun, a little cool, but not bad. JO, Mary had on special socks so her feet didn't get wet, got them at Cabella's. I'll have to check into it. I am downloading pictures now, took over 200, but got that down to 156. When you look at them on a big screen, then you can get rid of lots more.
Today we saw osprey, eagles, cormorants, great blues, kingfisher, gulls, sandpipers and I already forgot the name of the other one. I will have to look it up again, started with a d and is a small water bird.
A dowitcher, but we couldn't decide if it was a short or long billed one. Will have to see a bigger picture. Mary wants one of the eagles to be a golden, but I think they were all three juvies of various ages.
Well, Red, sounds like you do a great job! And I know the Mrs. appreciates it and you! Dana, I am trying so hard not to have to go there...but I know it will eventually come to that...the copd is bad enough, but then the radiation did it's own damage. And cold air makes me worse, as does exertion. Oh, well...it is what it is...at least I'm still alive! Deb, can't wait to see pics. SO glad you had fun...I bet it is so peaceful!
Jim, just heard from my BFF in Highland. She says it's hotter than blue blazes out there!! Are you cooler because you're getting the ocean breezes? I would have thought it would be cooler closer to the moutains!
I ate pancakes and bacon at Bob Evans for dinner - you all had me hungry this morning with your menus! The new cook burned my bacon - I was not happy about that!
Almost time for Jeopardy. Final answer/question last night: Category 20th Century Women....who is the Philadelphia Dept. of Interior building (or something like that) named for? The female contestant knew, the 2 guys didn't....but I did, thanks to you all getting me on all the cams!!! Rachel Carson!!
Deb the eagles flying is a great picture. I bet you was so excited and enjoyed yourself. You will have to add kayaking to your interest with the boating ( :
I feel like an idiot...I would like to see Debs photos, can only see the one. I need to see her in the Kayak! What fun that woman must have in life. I think we need to keep her here when she comes. She doesn't need to spend another Winter shoveling that South Dakota snow!
Evening Everyone!!!! Speaking of Takeout.....went to shopping center to get haircut (half good, half BAD)after work & great Chinese restaurant there.Had tables I haven't seen before...lovely pastel background and Three Pandas-- Momma, Poppa, & Baby Bear!!!! I need a BIG truck!!! Wouldn't that make a great dessert table??!!
Sounds like Deb had an Excellent Adventure!!!!Can't wait to see it:>)
I had a miniadventure in AM. Tried to turn off car & starter cylinder w/key in it started to pull out of the steering column!!!!So engine is running & I can't get the bugger lined up & back in place!Knew if I couldn't fix it, would have to remove a battery cable to kill it off or lose tank of gas.Lucky for me, one of my buds was cutting grass on tractor, so I waved & he came over & finally got it back in place! I was very careful rest of the day.Hubby said it's getting glued in this time!! Car had been stolen & starter removed. In that case you can start it w/a screwdriver!! DeBate
Loretta, that certainly was a predicament! Glad you got it solved! Yes, Helen, we are smart!!! I LOVE burnt bacon, too!! Ceil, we'll have to fight over it if Jo throws it out!! I do more complaining about limp bacon when I eat out...even on a burger...than any other reason! Well, Margy, only about another month of leaves, and then I can see the ISS, too!
Mmmm...Roast Beef, Mashed potatoes, collard greens, baby carrots, biscuits and muffin....a' la Cracker Barrel...Now I feel like our chubby Groundhog...
Howdy to everyone again...Loretta, that sounds like NO FUN AT ALL with the car tale this morning...
It's good to have BUDS in the right place to help out!
I have the debate on but washing machine is clunking and squealing so have to mute it out for a few minutes to see if there is going to be a small explosion in here....
Go Tom Brokaw! Think they need a little Minute Minder on there...
Well okay, but I might split anyway if this thing washer doesn't settle down! Daggone it....I might have to get a reference from NORMA for a good mechanic...
THis is difficult I am also on a political forum that moves to fast I hate breaking away but wanted to say hello, school will have me swamped the next week
Well, it didn't go airborne, but there is a little chain in the bottom of the tub that I don't recognize...like a necklace chain of some sort....sure isn't mine!
OH Helen I am crying the first home was built behind me, they put the rook on today, though it is a few hundred feet away it is too close. I saw deer walking up to it the other night...boohoo
Robyn, I feel your pain. I have a real next door neighbor since first of Sept. for the first time in 37 yrs. I hate it. I look out my front window and see the end of their house--thank goodness they didn't put windows in there. They have three dogs outdoors who bark every time I even open a door and I'm sure scare away my deer and turkey. Their trashcans have not left the roadside. No children, but a trampoline in the front yard. And they took out so many trees that everytime a vehicle comes around the curve the lights shine right into my window, and make my dog bark because she thinks it's someone turning in the driveway. I feel like I have no privacy anymore. To top it off, they have a dog named Cinnamon, same as mine....what are the odds??? ARGH!
MAgoie thanks, they are all moving up from the DC area looking it is still fairly cheap to live here.
I live on unrestricted property they are making a subdivision behind me. I like those odds better. I have parties memorial weekend, 4th of july and Labor day weekend they wont like that sometimes we have bands since and the neighbors who live a few acres away all attend lol
Hedgie I know hedgesville my best friend lives there and they built a home recently closer to her neighbor but they also have a field behind them and they are counting the days till someone decides to offer a piece of the land
I grew up hearing neighbors flush their toilets...swore I would never live that way again when I left the city/suburbs. Not quite that bad now, but still too close to suit me!
wow that was close. I grew up on staten island in ny and my friend lived next door. We would open our windows at night and talk before bedtime we were that close
I have a piece of Berry Bread... It has black & red raspberries in it. It is good - but my favorite is PUMPKIN PIE...with or without whipped cream....... Hope you're enjoying every bite you take Mits.
Hedgie, I like my bacon crisp! But not burnt black! That gives me indigestion. I soaked it in the syrup and ate it! lol
it was ok...like the apple pie I got last week better....it is from Giant bakery....I still after all these years miss my Mom's baking, and nothing compares to it
Helen, do you have your mom's recipes?? Make them yourself! I can't abide store-bought desserts. Guess I'm spoiled. Thank goodness my grandma and mom taught me well, and I enjoy baking and cooking!
no, Lynn, don't have them....could never get her pie crust just right....some people bake and some cook....I prefer to cook....and I should not be buying this stuff..but it just seems like in the fall I crave these kind of things
A lot of the special holiday things have gotten too difficult for me to mix....like Spritz...but my youngest comes and helps me w/ those things. Just don't have the strength in my hands anymore because of arthritis...and have burned up a couple of mixers trying to do it that way. Probably need one of those expensive food processors!
I have 2 daughters who love to bake and I will eat it all! When the family was young I baked so often & it was good. But now I have tired of baking except for special cakes for special people at special times.....
Hubby isn't a dessert guy anymore so I think that is why I don't have the incentive to bake more often.
...hate to mention this, there are some noise ordinances now, since the last few years, includes barking dogs, heavy equipment running late hours....and sometimes, music....not sure exactly how it all applies...usually people are just asked to quiet things down...and if return trips are made, well, I'd have to get back to you on that one.....Sigh......
My friend lives on rt 7 near back creek and there is a bunch of kids that rev their vehicles up and race around and the cops can't do anything or maybe wont.
I can't make pie crust to save my life but I can cook or bake anything else...go figure
I can give piecrust tips, if anyone needs them!! The biggest problem back on the Rt. 7 area is the noise from the Motorcross track!! Those neighbors are really supporting the new noise ordinance proposal! But don't know how in the world the track could quiet that noise anyway other than going out of business....and don't imagine the county could force that. Heading for the tub and then to bed. It's been a long day. See you all tomorrow. Hope everyone sleeps well. Prayers for all.
Made it home right after the debates started...had to stop on the way home and buy my Mom some clothes...said she needed some more...laundry is slow...so now I know what I can do, and I did it...bought her some really soft pants and tops...brought them home and washed them and will take them to her on Friday, when we have her 2 week assessment. Maybe then I'll get an idea how long she'll be there. It's been a month since she went into the hospital!
Good Night Everyone...after the washing machine debacle, I popped in an old Elizabeth Taylor/Van Johnson movie, "The Last Time I Saw paris..." move all over, you guys are all gone...sniff sniff...
I just got through the pictures. One osprey magically turned into red tailed hawk. It is hard sometimes to id a bird when moving down the river looking up at a flying bird! I was pretty surprised to see it. I will finish and post them in the morning!

Maine cam is beautiful and peaceful...' little critter must be near the microphone still...the water in the background, is supreme !
Cleaning in and out to peek at cams.
TTFN - got to go to town..
Remember ISS tonight if you want a thrill, and the Planet of Love (Venus)! and the
Moon and Jupiter...
xoxo
I am practicing my journalism skills in order to get us Momsters/Dadsters some publicity about NCTC get together.
SO BBL
Panda nap is over. Thundering outside and pups don't like it. Sure needed the rain though.
RED, do you have to mow your grass all year round?
No. Will have to mow a few more weeks. Then I can rest until March. I'm in North Alabama. We still have winter here, just not much snow in the last 10 years. Still get ice storms. Hate them.
I'd rather have a snow storm than an ice storm, Red......what's for dinner tonight?
I had a real supper tonight myself. My sister fixed meat loaf, potatoes, and beets!
Tonight will be Shake and bake chicken breast's, mashed taters and fresh green beans. Peach cobbler for desert. Ummmmmmmmm ummmmmmmmmmm gooooood. lol
Red, Dinner sounds delicious.
What happened to the diet? Peach cobbler. Yum
Panda cam is ON.
I'm losing it. Jim mentioned before that Lil Lun was by himself. It did not register until after I published that someone had said it was on.
I'll just have a teeny bit Ceil.
Red, that's right. Little portions.
Oh I see baby Luney might have the hiccups.
Is that Tai with the blue ball....
Red let the wife have your size portion of the dessert. Then you can have her size portion. That is if she eats less dessert than you lol
Actually the deserts are not my problem. It's those carbs. I should substitute cobbler for the mashed taters don't you think.
Red like your new avatar.
I'm playing with avatars. That one was supposed to be animated.
I try to watch the portions. Friday at NCTC I had two desserts. Lemon merinque(sp) pie and 2 cannolies.(sp)
Can eat them but not spell them.
Someone had that one on before I think and it did move.
Off to see my neighbor don't think she is feeling well.

Cute seal, Ceil!!
Deb, hope the kayaking trip is everything you are hoping for.
Red, are you the chief cook and bottle washer?? Does Mrs. Red still work?
Yeah, some one did have that one on and it did fly.....Red would rather have mashed potatoes than dessert any day
cute shot of Lun and Luney:)
Yes, Hedgie, I'm the domestic Goddess in this household. My wife is 12 years younger and still working.
Red, that's a domestic god!! Always good to hear that a man enjoys the culinary arts!
I didn't say I enjoyed it. lol But I believe in doing my share.
More political yadda, yadda on tonight. Only NCIS on regular programming! Boo...
Oh, and Dancing w/ the Stars results show on, too!

someone needs to tell them "they arent' eagles"..
Today we saw osprey, eagles, cormorants, great blues, kingfisher, gulls, sandpipers and I already forgot the name of the other one. I will have to look it up again, started with a d and is a small water bird.
hey Jo, looks like some fluff at Alcoa
A dowitcher, but we couldn't decide if it was a short or long billed one. Will have to see a bigger picture. Mary wants one of the eagles to be a golden, but I think they were all three juvies of various ages.
wow, Deb, what a day!!!!
You were quite the BIRDER today, Deb.
Yepper, Helen! I see white fluff!
I thought there were 3 eggs - Hope
we get to see more of what's in the
nest box.
Just got back to the house...
It is down right COLD out there!
Deb sounds like you had a great time.It is chilly here tonight. Just came in from outside.
It is paddlefish season, so there were quite a few boats out today, at least the first portion, then it was nice and quiet the rest of the way.
I put up one picture of the three eagles on my page, the rest will take some time to process.
Jim, just heard from my BFF in Highland. She says it's hotter than blue blazes out there!! Are you cooler because you're getting the ocean breezes? I would have thought it would be cooler closer to the moutains!
Mountains, I meant!
It is such a thrill to look up and
watch them circle above!
Nice one, Deb...."fly like an eagle"!!!
I ate pancakes and bacon at Bob Evans for dinner - you all had me
hungry this morning with your menus!
The new cook burned my bacon - I was
not happy about that!
Mom just took off at Alcoa nest.....takes along time to download the pic
Almost time for Jeopardy. Final answer/question last night: Category 20th Century Women....who is the Philadelphia Dept. of Interior building (or something like that) named for? Ceil and Jo sending you pic of falcon babies
Mom is back with babies, feeding time
yeah....Lynn, shocked my hubby......I knew it he didn't:)
They are sure cute little fuzz balls, aren't they!
Lynn send the bacon to me. Love it crispy and burnt. I'm weird but happy.
And they think we waste our time on the computer.
think that was Jo that had the bacon, Ceil:)
Ok Mrs. Red is on her way home. Time to start cooking. See Y'all later or tomorrow.
Oops Do I have to go sit in the corner? Anyway Jo I will take the bacon.
She is back already!
Pic is great! There really could
be 3 huddled there together.
We'll need to start watching more often.
Was my burnt bacon
lol.....back to the corner for you:)
it could very well be 3....lots of fluff going on there.
Little Luney all alone
Remember: Panda cam streaming will return to normal hours (10 am - 5 pm EST) the week of December 8th.
Deb the eagles flying is a great picture. I bet you was so excited and enjoyed yourself. You will have to add kayaking to your interest with the boating ( :
I received an e-mail from a friend of my son today. His grandmother passed away. She would have been 105 next month.
yep, Jo, so enjoy him while you can:)
what did she die of????
Alex's Controllable Halloween decorations
This is out in Colorado....he raises money for celiac disease, which his sons have.
He did not say. I told him I will try to get to the wake on Thursday. It is Carolyn Winterling Dore's mother in law.
he has turned the lights on early tonight....people over in EU need to go to bed:)
now that is old:)...
Ceil - that is what you can a ripe old age! That is marvelous!

I feel like an idiot...I would like to see Debs photos, can only see the one. I need to see her in the Kayak! What fun that woman must have in life. I think we need to keep her here when she comes. She doesn't need to spend another Winter shoveling that South Dakota snow!
ISS TIME FOR ME....
off to watch NCIS..BBL
Thanks for the reminder, Helen. GOOD SHOW!
oH, NO...Dancing is on too! What to do?
Wanda, I only loaded one picture so far, have 150 more to sort through!
I agree with what you said about Deb, Wanda
Eyes to the Skies as Suz would say
See you later Margy
Wanda - you sound like a true Libra
We just can't make up our minds
at times! lol
Dance while you watch NCIS
Well, ISS was everything it was cracked up to be....double bonus, I saw a shooting star.
ISS transversed about 2/3 of the sky, was as BRIGHT AS JUPITER and then someone turned out the lights....Poof, faded into low glow and gone.
It actually looked like it was flying a little "DUI" - just an illusion. Every 92 minutes it orbits the earth...but we sure don't see it that often!
Time for Chow: Take Out Cracker Barrel ! Wonder where I got that idea !!
Good Evenings, all...xoxo
Yes I do wonder about that idea!
Did you get meatloaf?

Well okay, but I might split anyway if this thing washer doesn't settle down! Daggone it....I might have to get a reference from NORMA for a good mechanic...
Good eveing all, what a nice evening, cool crisp and will be cold tonight lol
Hi ya, Robyn....how are you:)?
Good Mits, watching the debate. How are you?
peeking at the debate every now and then....hubby keeps switching channels:)
Ho--as Norma would say!--an airborne washer! Bet the dispatchers would get a good laugh!Duck and cover, Margy!
OH Helen I am crying the first home was built behind me, they put the rook on today, though it is a few hundred feet away it is too close. I saw deer walking up to it the other night...boohoo
err rook, not rook I am not playing chess lol
ROOF lol
ok, was just waiting for you to get your act together.....sorry they are moving so close to you...hope it is not some DC yuppies:)
Robyn, I feel your pain. I have a real next door neighbor since first of Sept. for the first time in 37 yrs. I hate it. Robyn - My condolences....that is never a welcome change....
Hope they turn out to be Nature Freaks who love birds and all manner of wildlife !
xo
After 16 yrs. of loving my place, I now hate it.
BTW I am a reformed city girl who has a country heart
Hedgie I know hedgesville my best friend lives there and they built a home recently closer to her neighbor but they also have a field behind them and they are counting the days till someone decides to offer a piece of the land
THEN STRIKE UP THE BAND, ROBYN....:)you did say there is no noise ordinance there, correct....
off to get some milk and pie...bbialw
NOne yet that I am aware of. PArdon my typing a bit excited right now, two forums going on lol
I made banana bread tonight, oh YUMMY.
Hi Robyn Good to hear ya
Hi Jo, I hope I don't confused and post here and post from here on the other site, they will think I am nuts and I may upset a few here.
I'll be back after the debate and the other forum closes
I have a piece of Berry Bread...
It has black & red raspberries in it.
It is good - but my favorite is
PUMPKIN PIE...with or without whipped cream....... Hope you're enjoying every bite you take Mits.
Hedgie, I like my bacon crisp! But not burnt black! That gives me indigestion. I soaked it in the syrup and ate it! lol
I had 5 bananas that were very ripe and needed to be cooked or tossed, I decided to cook them :)
it was ok...like the apple pie I got last week better....it is from Giant bakery....I still after all these years miss my Mom's baking, and nothing compares to it
Jo, pumpkin pie is definitely my most favorite dessert....followed by white cake w/ boiled icing and coconut! Mmmm...now I'm drooling!
waste not....want not;)
Helen, do you have your mom's recipes?? Make them yourself! I can't abide store-bought desserts. Guess I'm spoiled. Thank goodness my grandma and mom taught me well, and I enjoy baking and cooking!
who said that????? Probably our Moms when they were trying to get us to eat our veggies.
no, Lynn, don't have them....could never get her pie crust just right....some people bake and some cook....I prefer to cook....and I should not be buying this stuff..but it just seems like in the fall I crave these kind of things

I think I have one....never used it:)
2 falcons at Alcoa...must be going to be a shift change.
I have 2 daughters who love to bake and I will eat it all! When the family was young I baked so often & it was good. But now I have tired of baking except for special cakes for special people at special times.....
Hubby isn't a dessert guy anymore so I think that is why I don't have the incentive to bake more often.
I have to have hubby do some hand mixing on one of the cakes I make.
I really think he enjoys doing it.
I still get the spoon to lick!!
...hate to mention this, there are some noise ordinances now, since the last few years, includes barking dogs, heavy equipment running late hours....and sometimes, music....not sure exactly how it all applies...usually people are just asked to quiet things down...and if return trips are made, well, I'd have to get back to you on that one.....Sigh......
yeah my guy is not big on deserts
My friend lives on rt 7 near back creek and there is a bunch of kids that rev their vehicles up and race around and the cops can't do anything or maybe wont.

Light a candle for Mason
Had a busy day at the shop...hope tomorrow is even busier. Don't want to be talking to myself, so I'm headed to bed also.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SLEEP TIGHT
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Evening, all.
Sent out some emails to some of you!
PS - I like crispy bacon too.
Good Night Everyone...after the washing machine debacle, I popped in an old Elizabeth Taylor/Van Johnson movie, "The Last Time I Saw paris..." move all over, you guys are all gone...sniff sniff...
xo Prayers for Peace and Wellness xo
I just got through the pictures. One osprey magically turned into red tailed hawk. It is hard sometimes to id a bird when moving down the river looking up at a flying bird! I was pretty surprised to see it. I will finish and post them in the morning!
Night everyone!
***GOOD NIGHT, ALL***
