Looks like I ran away from everyone. I guess I fell into the split.
Karla (Butterfly Mama) came over this evening and took my helper home. I let him mow the lawn for the first time today. He has never used a push mower before (I don't think) and he did a wonderful job. That was a huge help!
Did you pay your helper for cutting the grass? lol
When my grandsons clean my car I like to pay them but their parents say not to... I think my kids (their parents) forget too quickly...
Dress for Saturday will probably be sweater with shirt or blouse layered underneath. Light weight jacket or heavy weight If you are sensitive to cold weather. We will have the Eagle Express to warm up in...no problem. I'll make a big pot of coffee.

they all don't know that they are related.....the only reason Mei and Tian are together is that is the way they grew up....and even now it is risky, jmho, to put them together after Mei injured Tian's eye last January and he had to have surgery to fix it

I love my dentist; he has saved so many of my teeth in the 25+ years that I have been going to him.
if you go to dentist every 6 months like recommended, it is a piece of cake, and your teeth don't mind the visit:)
Going to have 3 fillings replaced next month, that have turned very dark and look like decayed teeth. He is going to put white filling in them....so anxious to have that done.
What you say is so true, Helen...if you go twice a year, very few problems arise.
I had a very bad experience with a dentist when I was six. He pulled a tooth without any numbing med. But I got over it in time (about 60 years later). lol
and they can catch a problem earlier too, had the same thing happen to me at that age, Red.
Mits I bet it didn't take you as long to get over it as it did Red.

I know where my bad teeth came from. My grandmother used to sneak me a peppermint stick every night after I brushed my teeth. I think by the time I was 25 every tooth in my mouth had at least one filling and some had more than one. I wasn't afraid of dentists but wasn't too fond of them either.

If you are an avid panda watcher, you undoubtedly noticed that Lun Lun was conspicuously out of the picture for several rather protracted periods last evening. Rest assured, however, she was not far from her cub. After having had a restless time Sunday night and Monday, a decision was made to allow Lun Lun access to a third den area. As others have been reporting, giant panda mothers in the wild would be traveling farther in search of food; and, just maybe, Lun Lun was experiencing some wanderlust. Yet, in spite of the extra space, she remained in the same den with the cub more frequently than not (albeit, often she was just outside the range of the camera lens).
Taking advantage of the time when Lun Lun did investigate the additional space, the Panda Team recorded the cub as weighing 1789.1 grams (3.936 pounds) yesterday.

Good morning, everyone. It is cool and cloudy here. I wish we would get a few 80 degree days, but that isn't in the forecast.
I checked Maine and they don't know what is in the nest. Someone checked with Dr Sharpe and he says not to worry if they eat some garbage (paper, plastic) just not good to make a habit of it.

When we were on our trip last weekend, we were looking all over for golden eagles (didn't see one). I yelled, Big bird in tree! Thought it might be an eagle, but no, it was a TV.

Good morning everyone. I see you are finding lots of critter enjoyment out there today.
I am down with my infamous sick headache today. called in sick for only second time in 2 years. Hope your day goes well. Sure lots of folks are getting excited and some are already heading that way for your big weekend. Criispy Fall weather with that foliage asd a back drop. How gorgeous. You do need a smattering of gorgeous white heads and tails to make their appearance among the leaves. Especially there at the sycamore tree.
Mits - Going down to see Mom later today...Talked to her last night, she sounded fine.

I found where it flew to the back of the nest on the branch that comes up, then, off it went! It took a couple of minutes.

We made it up to 53 today and cloudy. There is a chance of rain tonight, so I won't be seeing a hunter's moon tonight. Hunters are starting to roll in--out of state pheasant hunting starts on Saturday.

Saw in this morning's Journal that a young lady, 49 year old from North Hills (not sure where that is) died in a rock-climbing accident at Seneca Rocks on Saturday. Sounds like she has family in Shepherdstown. Dr. Amy Stine is her name...husband is also a doctor. You can see the obituary at Journal Obituaries
Sad thing, prayers for her family.
Some comfort in thinking she died doing what she was passionate about, and in a beautiful place in our state.

Regarding lower gas prices: it's nice, but finding a tank that does not have at least 10% Ethanol is a challenge! I hate that kind of gas, goes fast, and makes the engine have rough start !

I saw gas for $2.85 today when I went to WalMart.
we've had gas at $2.79-now how long has it been since it's been that low
