I think she was there just reflecting on her first eaglets that have come back to the area this year. What a homecoming that must have been. I think the sighting of 2 eagles and was it 2 immature. Was her's and Liberty's first ones to come home.
Steve must be really busy getting ready for Sat....no new thread today...been a while since that's happened. Jo, did you ask him if he wanted to join us for dinner??
Great blue herons fish in both the night and the day, with most of their activity occurring around dawn and dusk. Herons use their long legs to wade in shallow water and their sharp "spearlike" bills to catch their food. Great blue herons' diet consists of mainly fish, but also includes frogs, salamanders, lizards, snakes, birds, small mammals, shrimps, crabs, crayfish , dragonflies, grasshoppers, and many other aquatic insects. Herons locate their food by sight and usually swallow it whole. Herons have been known to choke on prey that is too large. (Ferguson, 1998)
Nice ty Megan...had been on pages earlier and couldn't find anything. I thought geech that would be unusal not to have info on site about Open House. ty Megan

GBH at BWO!
That's great blue heron--too excited to spell it out.
Yep Deb spotted it...I know they eat live fish...Wonder about that fish laying in nest. WWS=Wait Watch and See..
Deb they eat smaller fish than that one don't they?
Yes, Margy, I saw the hedgie in the paper...cute! And sad about Dr. Stine.
Yes, Red, your avatar IS great!
Margy just missed the nest visit! Shucks.
I believe they do, Dana. For a bird that looks so big, they are pretty small.
Steve must be really busy getting ready for Sat....no new thread today...been a while since that's happened.

I put up a very short clip of Belle leaving on my page.

Mits - that is the daddy of all raccoons. He is really large -
I wonder if anyone saw the groundhog today......
I saw one in my yard, but I have no webcam...lol....
I am watching something in the background at the log, Mits.
It was dark - but it just
disappeared.
Jo the groundhog on the cam? Yes he/she was there today.
He is a regular - loves that corn
I think.
Megan - what did you do to scare him out of your yard?
There is chubby now.......
Guess I better check out Panda Cam
Panda Cam also has a little chubby
all alone sleeping......

LunLun has taken Little Luney and she is lying down & he is stretched
